This is great for quick tidy up jobs when there’s some storm damage. I tend to find my petrol tools sulk for a day or two before they are willing to fire up but this battery saw is great for the lighter urgent work.

Got the bare tool as I already have a battery and charger with another ryobi tool. This little saw is great, I should have bought one ages ago instead of struggling with my rubbish corded one! It’s light and powerful. The battery lasts about 30 mins and cuts through logs and branches like butter.

I’ve tried un-branded copies previously but they didn’t last, whereas my Ryobi One+ batteries just keep going.
This 5Ah battery was on promotion at around the same price as the 2.5Ah battery, so it seemed to good to pass up. I thought it might be a little bulky, but (although a fraction heavier) it’s the same size as my 4Ah batteries.
Very happy with the price, performance and (hopefully) longevity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price for 5Ah!

Surprisingly good saw. I haven’t used it much, just for trimming but it’s fine. Only tricky bit is fitting the chain. I’ve other chain saws and none are as fiddly as this one. But hey, it works well.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is well made and easy to maintain. The ONE+ battery concept is a long overdue idea. Have 3 other Ryobi battery powered units (drill, extended chainsaw branch lopper and leaf blower) all of which came with a battery and a charger. All batteries have different Amp Hours (Ah) ratings and all fit the chainsaw that wasn’t supplied with a battery. The chainsaw, like my other Ryobi tools, are as well made if not better than my old tools that they replace (some of which are highly rated names).

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought for my new lawnmower after I found my existing 1.5 ah batteries did not last long enough. This battery was just about enough to cut my two lawns if I’m quick but the 6ah version would probably have been bette

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI already have a petrol saw for work on thick logs.

The only poor reviews on this seem to be from people who thought they were buying the power of a petrol saw, but driven by battery .

I have a lot of wood that is about as thick as your thigh, or less, from trimming trees, and occasionally thicker.

This is perfect for the job of trimming the trees and then sawing into ca. 16″ lengths.

It cuts half the speed of my petrol saw, and that’s not a bad thing if you’re working in tight quarters or at awkward angles.

Working single handed, I can easily get about an hour and a half work out of an original Ryobi 4Ah battery.

Not sawing all the time, of course, but positioning for cutting, throwing into wheelbarrow etc.

Lighter to use than a petrol saw, but don’t forget helmet, boots and chaps! It’ll still cut your leg off, even it is battery.

Assembly and maintenance is very easy a well. Just check the tension every half hour of cutting, and check the saw oil level. It keeps well lubricated.

Get a file (and handle) for it, and a quick swipe every hour or so at the angle indicated in the chain, and it’ll cut quicker.

Replacement chains and bars very easy to get, and cheap as well, but *do* learn to sharpen your chain!

    Happy and safe sawing!

Well what a Machine this is, i was so shocked at the ease and power of this, i have only ever used Petrol Chainsaws so i thought i would try one of these as i had read mixed reviews, and happy to say was all good, i will be using this alongside my petrol saws a great piece of kit to go with my others

I’ve had this a year now and am very satisfied. It is a bit slower to cut than my petrol chainsaws but it is good enough for most of my needs and more convenient and so much quieter.

Schneidet toll und genau. Fr meine Zwecke mehr als ausreichend

You want an occasional use chainsaw. I use it for tidying woodlands and cutting logs. Very easy to use. This is my first one+ tool and on using this I will be purchasing other one+ tools

After buying this, I have bought 3 more Ryobi One tools. They are so light, powerful, and ergonomic. I’ve switched my entire tool needs to this range!

Perfect for the garden reno we did. The builders struggled to get their petrol models to start so we let them use this and it’s so convenient. No engine to maintain or 2 stroke stench. It took just 2-3 6A batteries to clear our garden which was really great run time. Definitely keep a chain sharpener around as like all saws it won’t work as well once the chain is dulled. Also get chain oil and keep it topped up.
