Excellent, long-lasting, powerful 5.0Ah battery for the One + system. Powers either my grass trimmer and sander for well over an hour’s worth of work. I tire before the battery does. Recharges quickly using the fast charger – just an hour to get from completely flat to fully charged. Weighs approximately 500g – which isn’t the lightest of batteries (the 2.5Ah battery from the same system weighs around 350g), but is light enough not to be a problem either to 5’5″ of female and not particularly muscular me, or my 71 year-old Dad.

Mower heave
I purchased two of these as I have several Ryobi products. Mainly used in my mower, these have been a major upgrade over the smaller batteries. Would highly recommend.

Suprisingly the same physical size as the smaller 1.3Ah batteries – I was looking for a physically “fatter” unit for the vacuum cleaner so it will sit flat on a surface rather than rock about on it’s curved lower surface – a thicker battery would do this. Absolutely no info on web site (Amazon or Ryobi) to give battery dimensions
These batteries are really pokey! They hold the charge for long periods of time being stored in my garage (I know lithium batteries should, but in my experience, some do not!). Tools such as the planer and lawnmower suck up a lot of power, but this battery is more than up for it and charges well too. Worth the extra cost over the clones.

Brilliant battery. Team it up with the 5Amp fast charger and you’ll go all day with one top up charge over lunch. So much more power to the tools, makes them seem like different tools with this battery attached.

Bought this battery for use with One+ lawnmower, grass trimmer and hedge trimmer. While it is a little heavier than the smaller capacity batteries, it also means that I get more play time with it.
Can’t complain with the run time of this battery as I haven’t timed in but I can easily cut the grass, trim the grass edges and then cut the trees using the pole hedge trimmer, and it only drops a bar which is fantastic.
The only downside is that it is quite expensive but for me it’s definitely worth the extra outlay for the increase in capacity.

I purchased this back in December 2013 and it’s still going strong.
When I first purchased this battery it was used hard for about 6 months and since then has gone onto lighter duties, only being called upon 1 – 2 times a month for light DIY jobs.
It still holds its charge for weeks on end without any use and then can be used for a good 2 – 4 hours of drilling, cutting and sanding before I need to pause to charge it again.
What can I say?
Bought from Amazon as it was best price at the time. It works as it should. Not much more you can say about a battery!

Well worth the extra money for the extra power in this 5 Ah batt. Used extensively in the Ryobi cordless lawn mower and drill we have not yet managed to fully discharge it! A great piece of kit, highly recommended.

Just brilliant. My 4Ah was already great, this is even better. Has easily coped with every job thrown at it so far, getting through each one without needing a swap/recharge, from chopping down trees to big sanding and drilling jobs. Great stuff. The only problem is the One+ system is so good I’m tempted to buy more tools …
Fantastic batteries
Fantastic batteries. I bought these to replace my old BPP 1817 batteries that originally came with my One+ gear some time ago – they were no longer holder the charge after 10 years. These are super powerful compared to them, and also have a charge gauge so you can see the current charge level. I have used them on several DIY projects over the last few weeks – drilling, screwing, planing, router. All still working off the first charge!

It is obviously big and fairly heavy but one would expect that. It is also very powerful and powers the Ryobi site fan for at least 8 hours on low setting and probably more like 12 hours. Haven’t needed it for drilling but I expect you could get a LOT done with it.

Wow – this battery is the business. It has so much power in comparison to the older models. I used this with my Ryobi polisher to wax & buff the car. Simply amazing. The charge indicator is extremely useful, the battery retains power extremely well. I would strongly recommend this product.

A necessary addition to the strummer and I imagine, any one of the tools that comes with the underpowered supplied unit which only lasts around 12 to 15 minutes. This one gives me around 20 to 25 minutes use. Nice indication of the charge displayed on the front via a light panel.

If you’re signed up to the Ryobi ONE+ system you are gonna need these.
Personally I find the system extremely convenient (and dramatically reduces my reluctance to carry out garden work). Hey but horses for courses, your call.

Amazing battery life, use it in conjunction with the fan to help keep my dogs call when we are out all day, the fan is going as strong at the beginning of the day as it is at the end. My only gripe is the price but as it seems to be a very good and reliable battery I don’t seem to need the second battery that I wanted but couldn’t afford.

These last for ages and are a lot lighter than the big 4.0. I have 2 x 2.5 and a 1.5ah they are used daily as I am a tradesman mainly for my Ryobi radio and drill. Very satisfied with these even compared to more expensive brands.

This battery just keeps going. I’ve used it in many of my Ryobi One+ tools, and it has never let me down – it turns both my mitre saw and circular saw into true workhorses.
It does take a little longer to recharge than other, smaller capacity, batteries, but that is a small price to pay.

Replacement for dead NiCad.
Replacement for original battery. Needed its own charger, as the charge rate is different, but works well & much lighter than old NiCad.

It’s a big battery, what more can I say. Bought because the 1.25 Ah batteries that came with the drill only last a couple of hours. It does make the drill noticibly heavier, but I’ve used the drill many times (for several hours in total) since getting this and the battery still shows full charge. Lovely jubbly!

I’ve kind of “signed up” to the Ryobi One + concept and now have several of the garden and DIY tools. I previously bought the 18V Quickmow lawnmower which came with a 4AH battery and charger and recently bought this additional one so that I could always have one on charge. The battery life is exceptional and the charge is fairly quick. The battery has a built in “fuel guage” so that you can see how much juice you have left. Its also great in the One+ hedge cutters giving plenty of cutting power and endurance. Its a fair bit heavier than the 1.5 AH batteries and this can be noticed when used on the smaller tools such as a drill but the extra life over the smaller cells is really useful. Highly recommended and I may go for a third !

Plenty of staying power ideal for intermittent working day, but is weighty. I use the smaller battery when job requires and one extended arm on large pieces such as auger on 6″ beams. Close up easy just crack on.

This was a warehouse deal, at a very good price only because the plastic packing was damaged, you break it anyway to open it anyway so no issue to me. The battery is the standard Ryobi fit and of a higher capacityto boot. The charge level indication is a bonus. Being Li Ion they last an age, i am using this battery on the Ryobi impact driver , this is a brilliant product.

Bags of power, and battery just keeps on going compared to the other types available for this product system. The battery life will determine if the price is really worth paying – but so far I am very impressed. The impact driver is my favourite tool for this battery, but my spouse loves it on her hedge trimmer, and sander.

Placed on an initial charge which took a while, hooked it up to an impact driver which I was using drive six inch screws into two, two inch pieces of wood lasted all day and was happy with the performance

I bought this as an upgrade for my 10 year old drill/driver set, as they hold their charge waaaaay longer! I also bought the new charger and battery set to complete my replacement requirements for the original set. All of it was well worth the outlay!

Long-lasting charge
Using this with a Ryobi hedge trimmer. The battery lasts longer than my arms, and the charge gauge is very useful. I have two off these batteries so using them in rotation I can hedge-cut all day. Yay!
Be warned though that I’m on my third Ryobi charger for this battery in the space of a year. The first two blew up. Hopefully Ryobi have now sorted out their design and/or manufacturing issues and the third charger will keep going.

Can’t speak highly enough about these batteries which have rejuvenated my use of existing Ryobi One+ tools. I previously used Ni-Cd batteries which were OK when relatively new but never had great life when used hard. The Lithium cells are lighter, more compact, charge more quickly and last miles longer than their predecessors – I would say 3 to 4 times as long. They also hold their charge when not in use which is great news for those unpredictable jobs. The only question mark is how long will this performance last – only time will tell but, so far at least, these batteries tick all the boxes.

All day drilling!
Lasts all day and charges up very quickly, the battery meter is a great feature.
You have to have the correct charger for this battery, I didn’t realise this when purchasing and had to get a dual battery fast charger, tnis wont charge up from the old style Ni-Cad charger.
Horses for courses
Makes a real difference to the usability of a Ryobi One+ toolkit. Unsurprisingly a bit heavy for some hand tool applications. That’s fair comment not a complaint. The big battery has its uses as do the small.

Charge lasts well and is much lighter than the other 2.4Ah version I have (which came with the drill). Lithium batteries are much better than Ni-Cad as the charge lasts much longer. They keep their performance right up to the last bit of charge, unlike Ni-Cads whose performance tails off at a slower rate, losing power longer before they are ready to be re-charged.
I would recommend buying two x 1.5Ah as the lighter weight makes it much easier on the hands, wrists and arms. While I consider the Ryobi range of tools is not the best quality for full-on professional use, they are pretty good for heavy DIY use. Don’t forget the Lithium batterys need a special charger.

A must have if you own any of the Ryobi one + tools. yes it is heavier byut it is so much better from a power and time perspective it is worth the extra bit of weight. Certain tools also need this battery to actually function in any sort of decent way.

great for impact drivers, grinders, multi tool etc which nee a little more punch. Only issue Li-ion do not like cod weather and have found theta they will not charge hen it gets really cold, have to bring them inside to charge
