The trainer works well, and is a very smooth ride. The noise level is reasonable if you have a smooth tire. If it if you have a knobby tire it will howl. (I quickly bought a commuter smooth tire) It fits my 29er mountain bike well without any problems. Assembly is easy especially if you look at the instructional videos. (The included instructions are somewhat opaque.)The riser for the front tire was damaged in transit but I received excellent, prompt service in getting it replaced. Both the functionality and service add up to my 5 star rating.

Liked the Sportneer Fluid Bike Traine
The fluid fly wheel Sportneer is more sturdy and quieter than the magnetic Sportneer.

I do have a training tire on my bike and was very happy with how quiet it is - there is a bit of noise, but I was easily able to watch a movie wearing earbuds while doing a pretty intense 30 minutes. When I want to spin in front of my own TV , I can take my own bicycle an do my workout.
Bike is secured in less than a minute.
During my workout I sweat a lot.

Fahrrad mit den Hutmuttern in den Rollentrainer gespannt und fertig.
Da ich mein 10 jahre altes City-Bike (ohne Akkubetrieb, ohne Schnellspanner) im Winter mit ins Wohnzimmer stellen wollte, um meine Fahrrad-Fitness beizubehalten, war mir wichtig, dass der Rollentrainer meine 130kg Plus das Gewicht eines konventionellen Fahrrades tragen kann. Auch die Technik dieser Widerstandsrolle schien in den Vergleichen und Rezensionen fr diese Produkt-Preisklasse die beste zu sein.
Nach einigen Tagen Training kann ich nun berichten, dass die Lautstrke der Widerstandsrolle akzeptabel ist. Das Fahrrad ist neben dem Sofa platziert und whrend des Trainings kann meine Frau auf dem Sofa auch Fernsehen. Natrlich verfgt mein Fahrrad ber kein grobstolliges Profil. Es hat nur leichte Riefen drin, so dass es vermutlich nicht viel lauter ist, als das Profil eines Rennrades.
Die Montage war nach 5 Minuten erledigt, da der Zusammenbau ziemlich selbsterklrend ist. Unter den Produktbildern auf Amazon ist ja zudem noch ein Video verlinkt, welches den Aufbau beschreibt. Wichtig zu erwhnen hierbei ist noch, dass man die querliegende Verbindungsschraube, die die Rolle mit dem Rahmen fixiert, nicht zu fest anzieht, damit die Rolle nirgendwo schabt. Da sollte man beim Festziehen der selbsthaltenden Mutter darauf achten, dass sich die Haltebleche vom Rahmen nicht zu sehr nach innen verbiegen. Eine mehrsprachige Anleitung (incl. Deutsch) lag meinem Paket bei.
Den Widerstand der Rolle habe ich mit einem der mittleren Gnge eingestellt und auch nur einmal nachjustiert und fahre seitdem mit demselben Widerstandswert. Schwerer kann ich es mir ja machen, indem ich dann hochschalte. Von daher ist eine Fernbedienung am Lenker gar nicht notwendig fr meine Anwendungszwecke. Der Widerstandswert ist auch absolut gleichbleibend. Viel komfortabler als die billigen Hometrainer von frher mit Riemenantrieb.
Insgesamt finde ich das Produkt wertig und robust. Es hat mich bisher berzeugt.

My mountain bike tires are noisy though when using the stand and I think at some point I may put a street tire on just to damp the noise down a bit. The knobs on the tire make vibration but it is the tire not the stand that is the issue. It sounds like a cool motor bike though, maybe I will just leave it like that for awhile.

I like that my bike is still usable in just minutes by just lifting it off the trainer. I purchased it to keep my legs in peddling shape during the months that I can't get outside!

Its noisy with the tires I gave on my bike

Just incase someone what to know if this works with smaller bike. I have a 24 inch MTD and it works fine with it but I don't think it can work with anything smaller than a 24 inch bike

I purchased this stand for a hybrid mountain bike just prior to knee replacement surgery. I wanted one I could adjust from no resistance in my rehab to later use as a realistic road feel trainer. It hasn't disappointed me at all. Assembled easily, adjusts with ease, and isn't any noisier than any other trainer. It's helping my rehab immensely and I didn't have to spend a grand or more on a Peloton like the docs and therapists were telling me I needed.

I’m not a cyclist but this product does exactly what I wanted it to do. Built well and it is not load or winding sound. You can hear some fluid is you move the motor by hand.

So I have a mountain bike that is not quick release. So I didn’t need to use the quick release adapter that is included. I was able to put my bike as is on this stand. It does raise the bike about 2 inches. I’m short and female so this made it a little harder to get on the bike. It is quite loud, so you may not be able to use in the early morning or late evening hours, if you live in an apt. All in all, this was a great purchase. Very pleased. Very sturdy. Only con is height adjustment.

My wife and I needed something to stay fit. This turned out to be a great stationary bike. Probably not good for professional riders, it has proven to be useful for the average rider trying to stay fit. It was easy to setup and use.

I was a little apprehensive about this trainer before I purchased it. That is no longer the case. I ended up purchasing a used 12-speed road bike to set up on the trainer and get a very good workout. If you have a bike with even higher gears, all the better. I was concerned about the ability to put a mountain bike on the trainer, also not an issue. The clamping mechanism will accept a 9 1/2 to 10-inch spindle and there is plenty of room on the roller for a wider tire. The unit is very quiet as long as you have a road tread tire on your bike.

For those concerned about noise - I have a mountain bike. I used the mountain bike tires with this stand with no problem, except the tread understandably makes noise as it spins. Not too loud, not loud enough that it bothered me or I wanted to send it back. Not as loud as a vacuum or my washing machine, but noticeable. I just wore my earbuds so I could hear my class / TV show while I spun. Then I replaced the back tire with a road tire. HUGE difference in the amount of sound. Now it is - dare I say - very quiet? Like less noise than my dishwasher. I don't need earbuds to hear the class or TV anymore and you can have a normal volume conversation while spinning. So far I've used it to exercise every day for the last 9 days and I'm very proud of myself. Well worth the investment!

Cannot comment on noise as still trying to source an adapter axle during lockdown in Toronto
Buyer Beware!
This was recommended as a best buy so I never considered another bike. I read over the details, description, and when I finally found it in stock I bought it.
Upon reading the assembly instructions, step one reads: “To use the trainer,you need to replace the rear wheel quick release on your bike with Skewer(Part G) equipped…”
When I read that, I immediately went back to the online description and it says NOTHING about needed a quick release rear wheel. (I did not watch the video and shouldn’t need to; I can read just fine.)
So, Sportneer suggested I try the trainer as is, which I did not feel comfortable doing. Thank God for the stimulus so I could afford to spend the money to get a replacement wheel. Sportneer did offer a $30 refund, which is nice, but I still paid more than I should have.
That being said, I have no issues with the trainer now.
I did my research over a few weeks and chose this sportneer fluid trainer and I am SO glad I did. I've had this for over a month. Almost 2. I ride on this stand sometimes twice daily for 45 to a hour at a time. I am not easy on it. I give it hell when I ride. It has almost no noise, it has great resistance. I mean you can hear it but it's not very noisy at all. I watch espn and ride every morning. I'm in Florida so it rains some afternoon/evenings when its time for me to run so I jump on this instead. So convenient. Has helped me SO much. Added strength to my legs. Really glad I bought this. One of my better purchases in a long time. Its built really well. Strong. If you're looking into these buy this. You wont be disappointed.

Brilliant device, very sturdy, easy to put together and stow, works great on my bike, and allowed me to ride all winter without spending ridiculous amounts on a Peloton or similar. This way I can use my bike all year around. I went with the oil based resistance, it definitely works you harder the harder you peddle - this is a great unit for someone to get usage out of their bike during the winter months

Good Fluid Traine
First trainer, went with fluid over magnetic. this is super easy to assemble, folds in/out so that’s a bonus. I have a road bike so that’s what I am using with this. Trainer is pretty quiet, I think my fan is making more noise, or pretty close. Just like it says, resistance changes by changing your bike gears. Works great. Initially I thought it could have used more power/resistance, so if you are super strong then you may want one with a higher power rating, but honestly after some time on it, I can’t maintain the highest gear for much time so this works pretty great, good for hill climbs… I think it mimics the road environment pretty well, comparing the gears I use outside with this it’s pretty close, I’m maybe a gear higher on the trainer, but that’s about it.

I bot this to use to rehab my knee after surgery. I easily installed my road bike onto the stand after minimal assembly. Pleased with the minimal sound and vibration level. It has been working well for the two months of use.

Ich habe den Rollentrainer nun einige Wochen im Einsatz. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Rollentrainer. Er hat mir bei den geschlossenen Fitnessstudien und nass kaltem Wetter sehr gut beiseite gestanden.
Ich habe den Rollentrainer nun ca. 20 mal benutzt fr je 10-30 Minuten benutzt. Das Gert ist nicht extrem laut, aber auch nicht leise. Da ich den Rollentrainer mit Musik nutze geht es klar. Bei meinem Nachbar hrt sich das wie ein stumpfes Brummen an, wenn der Rollentrainer benutzt wird.
Nach 15 Minuten ist die Rolle lau warm und nach 30 Minuten sehr warm. Einen lngeren Belastungstest habe ich nicht durchgefhrt.
Der Zusammenbau ist sehr einfach und dauert nur ca. 5 Minuten.
Qualitativ wirkt die Rolle gut.
Fr meine Zwecke hat der Rollentrainer bis jetzt ausgereicht und ich wrde ihn mir wieder kaufen.

Great entry level bike trainer. It was easy to assemble. I have an hybrid bike and it works great. I only needed the trainer to stay in bike riding shape until spring.

This is what my wife was looking for and it is great. Assembly was easy and it is easy to add more resistance. Well made and no complaints. There is some noise, but not enough to be very distracting. Great product.

After watching the video provided here on Amazon, it only took a few minutes to assemble the trainer and mount my bike. The trainer is sturdy and the noise level is perfectly fine, just what I expected and a lot quieter than outdoor sounds from traffic, etc.

First time using a trainer stand, so keep that in mind. Decent packaging, no damage but would be easy to achieve without proper transport and delivery. Easily assembled with supplied tools, although directions could be more clear. With a medium tread tire, I would say minor "whirring" noise when in use, but can still hear tv or listen to music. No left/right tilt like others have described and construction seems sturdy (30 minute ride so far). Riser block could be taller, but is sturdy with soft pads on the bottom. This is my first review so I hope it helps someone's future purchase. Overall, would recommend.

Really pleased with this. Using it with BitGym so don’t require anything else. You can make it easier or harder by using the bike gears. I have a mountain bike and the tires are too noisy on it...I can still hear the instructions from my iPad without needing headphones.

Works well and really isn't absurdly noisy.
Gave it 5 stars for noise because it isn’t any louder than I expected it to be. Barely noticeable, like white noise, if you’re watching tv or listening to music – even without ear buds.
Easy setup and I’ve had no issues with it operationally after a few months.
Ich hatte schon einige Rollentrainer, alle mit Magnetsystemen, die extreeeeem laut waren.
Mag sein, dass die teureren Teile ab 1000 besser sind von der Lautstrke her – ich kenne aber nur die Preisklasse bis ca. 400, und die waren alle unangenehm laut.
Von diesem Flssigkeitssystem, zu diesem Preis, bin ich das 1. Mal _fast_ begeistert!
Es luft natrlich nicht “flsterleise” wie es in der Herstellerbeschreibung steht und auch nebenbei Fernsehschauen ist bei normaler Lautstrke nicht mglich (Kopfhrer wre mit Sicherheit mglich).
Ein Musthave sind hier ebenfalls spezielle Rollentrainerreifen, wie z.b. den Continental “Hometrainer”-Reifen.
Bei 40km/h hrt sich der Rollentrainer, laut Aussage anderer Familienmitglieder an, als ob eine Waschmaschine im Nebenraum luft. Und damit knnen wir alle leben 🙂
Auch der Anpressdruck der Rolle ist natrlich ein Faktor fr die Lautstrke und nicht nur fr den Schweregrad.
Der Rollentrainer steht bei mir auf grossporigen Kunststoff-Hartschaumpolstern (kein Styropor), ich kenne leider die korrekte Bezeichnung/Marke dieses Materials nicht, aber es dmmt auch schn die Lautstrke = AntiDrhn.
Mein Tipp: filmt mit eurer Actioncam eure Lieblingsstrecken im Sommer bei Sonnenschein, um sie spter im Winter auf dem Fernseher nachzuradeln! Ich muss mich immer zusammenreissen um keine Lenkerbewegungen mitzumachen, oder mich in Kurven zu legen! Dann noch einen Standlfter fr den Fahrtwind und ab geht’s!

Instructions worthless. With 700c/35mm fairly smooth tires it is super-quiet. Fits my 29er Hybrid bike fine.

Been raining on/off here in So Cal so perfect timing. My box-fan set on low makes way more noise than this does.

I received and immediately set up my trainer today, 1/20/2021. From start to finish, unboxing to pedaling, 9 minutes. Assembly is a breeze. I glanced both a YouTube video and the enclosed setup manual. NOISE LEVEL, this seems to be the main issue in all the reviews I’ve read but rest easy everyone. The trainer is specifically set up for ROAD TIRES. I can only speak to that. While pedaling, I had a conversation, then I tried it with the tv on then with music and there is ABSOLUTELY NO issue with excessive noise. I CANNOT speak to MOUNTAIN BIKE tires, though I suspect they will be louder due to the tire treads. My rear tire DOES NOT have a quick release skewer but the product WILL WORK without it. The trainer is very sturdy and as this is an out of the box review, I will return in a few weeks to update. 5/5 thus far!

Highly recommending this brand, model and fluid type of trainer.
I spent much time reading reviews, doing general research and felt fluid was better than magnetic. I had reviews that called some fluid models noisy and my trainer is perfect. Just a hum and most definitely more quiet than my rower. It was not difficult to assemble. Any model will require you to pay attention and take it methodically. I had mine set-up and ready to read in 30 minutes – and that includes various adjustments to get it just right and stable.
I contemplated magnetic units that have tension control and since the gears play that role, no reason to think the control is important. it’s not. You can adjust general resistance where the roller makes contact with the tire and once you have just right – no reason to change it – use your gears.
If you like biking, whether as exercise or just for leisure – this is right for you. Spend you winter staying active.
I had a Sportneer mag trainer for a couple years. It finally gave up the ghost and the resistance wheel blew out. I decided to upgrade to the fluid trainer. It’s much better. More quiet, smoother and a realistic feel. The magnetic one can certainly get your heart rate up and do it’s job, but the fluid trainer is a much nicer experience.
The product comes well packaged. The directions for assembly are poor but the video on Amazon is helpful. There should be more info on how to sit the tire on roller but just let it touch. The noise level is low and the unit as a whole is a good buy for the money. It is a bit of a pain if you plan to remove the bike from the unit after every ride. I have had other trainers and this one provides a nice realistic outside ride.

This trainer was pretty much fully assembled, you just have to put the fluid wheel on. I have a road bike and I used my 25c training tire on it little to no sound really. i haven't had any complaints even at 2 a.m. 200+km still feels sturdy even pedaling hard out of the saddle.

surprisingly sturdy, noise level is really low, tire has no treads so it helps. what my wife likes {it was a gift} is that she uses her bike shifter to change difficulty level,

Love it! Quieter than I expected. I use it with my hybrid bike. Very smooth. I like that I can adjust the resistance on both the unit and I can change gears.

This was a good purchase for me. Easy to assemble and sturdy to ride. Just a bit noisy so I just turn the volume up on my TV. The only way this would have been better would have been a lower price in Canada. The US price is fantastic!

It is noisier than I expected but I heard changing with and tread of the tires can lessen that so will be looking into smoother tires for indoor training. Definitely wish there was more resistance to feel more of a workout than just a cruise in the living room but if that’s what you’re looking for than I definitely recommend.

That's a very good bike trainer. Easy to assembly, acceptable noise level, the noise of the chain of the bike is lauder than the trainer's. Very secure too. I recommend this product.

Great trainer for a cheap price
I’m very impressed with this unit. This is my first trainer experience and I originally wanted a smart trainer but due to cost (4x time) and availability I choose this one.
Setup takes a few minutes. I purchased a special trainer tire which helps a lot with the noise. It’s sturdy and fun to ride.
I can see how having metrics like speed and distance can be beneficial for work outs and training but this is a great and cheap option for winter work outs.
I bought this to do physio for my injured knee (acl). Really easy to put together. A bit awkward to store but it doesn’t take up much space in the summer when I don’t have my bike on it. It’s a bit loud but it’s not over bearing; with headphones I can’t hear it. When you adjust the tension on the rear wheel it allows you to increase/ decrease the resistance and you can make minor adjustments with your gears. For the price it’s a great little trainer.
Great trainer for a cheap price
I’m very impressed with this unit. This is my first trainer experience and I originally wanted a smart trainer but due to cost (4x time) and availability I choose this one.
Setup takes a few minutes. I purchased a special trainer tire which helps a lot with the noise. It’s sturdy and fun to ride.
I can see how having metrics like speed and distance can be beneficial for work outs and training but this is a great and cheap option for winter work outs.
If you have what is referred to now as a commuter bike, meaning one with skinny smooth tires, you will love this. If you have an MTB, the noise will rock your world. Excellent piece of equipment though, so if you have no neighbors and an awesome sound system, crank it up and pedal away baby! It does require that the back tire be a quick change according to my avid cycling ex-husband who put it together for me.

I was hesitant to try this thing but I’m glad I did. It is really easy to put together. It comes with an adapter for quick release axles but if your bike is a simple nut and bolt axle it will be even easier to get it up and running. There is a video on this listing that is simple to follow because there were no in instructions included in my package. I have my fixie on it with 700X28C size wheels with no problems. It performs very well and is very quiet just the low buzzing of the motor turning as you pedal. No movement whatsoever. The bike is completely stationary. A very sturdy base. If you want to adjust the resistance you can move the motor mechanism higher up to meet the wheel. Make sure your wheels are fully and firmly inflated to get the best workout and less noise. So glad I got this.

Maybe my expectations were skewed after reading some of the negative reviews that railed about the low quality of the instructions and assembly difficulty, so I was prepared for a horror show. But it took ~10 minutes to put it together and ride for the first time–maybe the instructions were updated.
It’s certainly not silent, but it’s quiet enough, and though I haven’t tried pushing the resistance near to maximum, the stand works. I now have an indoor bike for the winter made from this stand an a 20 year old commuter K2 beater that was hanging on the wall of the garage. I’ll update the scores after I’ve ridden for a few weeks.

Where I live the summers are dangerously hot, and the winters are too cold and snowy for biking (unless you have a fat bike). I use my road bike to get around, but more than that I use it for exercise. With this trainer I can get that exercise at any time of the day, with consistent and controllable difficulty, regardless of the weather or time of year, and I can do it without leaving the comfort of my own home. It’s the ideal way to bike for exercise, possibly only beat by fancy standalone exercise bikes that cost way more. The resistance mechanism is very cleverly designed – a spinning magnet turns an impeller inside of a chamber full of a fluid which provides resistance. The faster you bike, the more resistance you get. You can further control the difficultly by adjusting your bike’s gearing. I tend to use it at high gear, and I was worried that the trainer wouldn’t be able to provide sufficient resistance to simulate hill climbing. It can’t simulate steep hills, but it’s good for just about everything else, and I can attest to the fact that at my max gear ratio it provides plenty of resistance. The front wheel stand it comes with isn’t great, but it does the job. Mine arrived slightly damaged, which is why I’m dropping a star off the rating. Other than that I’ve got no complaints. It holds the bike well, and comes with a skewer to mount the bike. That said, I didn’t end up needing the skewer since the one I currently have for the back wheel (which is intentionally difficult to remove to avoid wheel theft) was compatible. The screws have guides that you can set on the first time, and that way you’ll know how far to screw them in, which makes it easy to attach/remove your bike from the trainer.
