Simple and useful. Nothing fancy but I wasn’t looking for a fancy model. A bit noisy in a small kitchen, but it is okay as I only use it for short operations.
Much smaller than my old one but it was years old. Fits perfectly on my worktop really pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend this microwave
It is simple in use. The power level is a bit small but it is ok for such small capacity oven.
Won’t give it 5 Stars the dials are hard to see if you are and older Person also the Plate comes off very easily not the best Microwave I ever had !
Good all round microwave. Does what it needs to at a good price. The plastic that covers the buttons split in the first week. Makes it look untidy.
Should have bought digital screen not manual for settings. But happy enough.
An uncomplicated oven, with just two controls (power and time). Our only criticism is the timer knob is very small and stiff.
Very pleased, and the delivery was very good in all very satisfied
I haven’t had it long, so not used to it yet. I will need to come back later to add to this review. First impressions are positive though. It looks well made, and does the job. It replaced a really old one, that had become extremely noisy, and was bigger than this, and grey, so to have a nice bright white one, that is much quieter, is a welcome change. I’m so glad I was not put off by some of the bad reviews. I believe if you use things as they were designed, they will be fine. If I don’t have time to wipe any steam away, I make sure I leave the door open. Doing simple things like this can make all the difference. Very happy I chose this one from the bewildering amount available.
Although this is a small microwave it is very powerful. Ready meals are well cooked. A lot cheaper to use than my cooker. Fits nicely on my work surface and under a wall hanging cupboard.
Settings are idle for people who like sticking to what they know easy to clean well worth the money
If you want a microwave with all the bells and whistles, this is not for you. It is a very basic model, which is what I wanted.
The instructions on using it are easy to follow. Plug it in, set the dials and that is it. I have dodgy hands, but had no problems turning the dials to the correct settings.
A good purchase, which I am very happy with.
Well pleased with this microwave, heats food up very easily. However, like many other customers i find it difficult to read the numbers on the timer switch.
Good device. Has buttons for mins. No messing with a dial. Easy to use. A little nosier than the one I had before
I would recommend this. Easy to use and follow instructions. The knob say very little wobble and is precise.
I had been using an analogue microwave I’d been given and I wanted digital. This is small which I needed and easy to use. A large dinner plate fits in. One touch to cook for 1-6 mins. Very pleased, good price. Only con is that I leave the door open after use to air / dry it and the light stays on. ( Think the bulb had gone in my old one, it may have been the same!)
Excellent value, easy to use, looks good and would definitely recommend
Does exactly what I need it to do and is good value for money
Item is compact yet has good capacity and performance. Good brand at an excellent price.
I used to have a cheep manual microwave I got from a supermarket. It was okay but it was tiny and didn’t last long. So I bought a Tower one that was really large and had 3 dedicated buttons like popcorn etc. This was so loud I thought it was one from the 90’s era and it didn’t cook or heat food properly. It also burnt the popcorn and left half unpopped at the same time. So when I saw this one I was sceptical. I expected it to be too small, noisy and have the dedicated button setting way out of line with what their functions are meant to be. I am please that I was wrong on all of those points.
The noise level is so quiet. The dinner plate setting is perfect. I can press it once for a plate of food at room temperature or press it twice for food straight from the fridge and it heat the food to 175- 187 degrees consistantly. I did learn than the center of the glass plate is a cold spot. So a bowl of soup needs to be put off center and as far to the outer edge as possible for best results. Plates of rice are best stired half way through reheating. But that is my preferance. I just find it heats it more evenly and not some bits like rubber and other bits not quite up to safe temperature. I like the one touch options above the line on the number grid. Very hand when you know how many whole minutes uou need to cook for.
The size is a good size. Not too small. I would have liked to get a larger option of this but 20L is proving to be a perfect size for my needs after all.
Works perfectly fine but when you use it there is absolutely loads of condensation inside.
The whole insides is dripping wet.
Apart from that it’s fine.
A bit on the small size after our previous one but fine for most things. The timer knob is very stiff and could do with a grooved edge or a rubber surface for better grip but apart from that, a great little microwave
It does the job we wanted to do and is easy to use
This was a birthday gift for my Son he is very pleased with i
Purchased for my elderly father. He loves it. Powerful for its fairly small size, and able to fit large dinner plate.
Always liked Toshiba as a brand and so far this basic Microvave has not disappointed.
This model is 20l in volume, which is a little smaller than the machine it replaced after 20+ years faithful service. Absolutely basic machine but still accomodates a 10″ diameter plate which was a must. 800watts of power which seems to be more than the previous machine I had and heats food more quickly as it should.
Only one minor criticsm, the timer dials are round shiny plastic and they are often difficult to grip if my fingers are not perfectly dry,A grooved dial would be much better.
Very well made and simple to use.
A good addition too any Kitchen.
Thanks this is what I was looking for.
Works like a dream.
Very easy to use, nice size and easy to clean. Ticks all the boxes.
Does what it says on the tin. A good digital microwave, easy to use and clean.
Overall this microwave makes a very useful addition in the kitchen. The plate warming facility can be a bit fierce so make sure they are microwaveable as I have had one melt. Occasionally I’ve found the turntable can be knocked off the spindle underneath accidentally…so check to see the product being heated is revolving. Otherwise a very good value purchase!…
Excellent quality and very easy to set up! A lovely microwave and it takes up less space too! Recommended!
I can’t understand when I press button for 7mins out doesn’t work,otherwise a good microwave
We use it every day some persons say that the dial knob is stiff and difficult to see but with care we do not find it so
This is only an 800watt microwave but I have no issue with that. I like that it’s mostly white (although I would have preferred silver). I love that, for it’s size, the interior has more height than the others that I measured. I was mostly concerned that my 2min Tilda rice packages wouldn’t stand up inside but there is no problem whatsoever.
I preferred to have a push-button opening rather than an obvious handle but it’s a bit stiffer than my previous one. My 700watt COOKWORKS had a stylish integrated handle which I now realize was very useful when opening and closing the door. I almost just re-bought that one as it had lasted for years, was very sci-fi in design, was silver, and was a few pounds cheaper but this one is 800watts and a little smaller on my countertop and slightly roomier inside.
I am disappointed that the control panel is black on black. It doesn’t light up so it’s difficult to read the different touch screen settings. I loved the panel on my old one which had easy-to-read oval touch screen choices on a light grey background. I’ve no idea who thought of this design!! It looks sleek but isn’t very practical. But it has all the necessary quick-start settings etc so that’s fine. I’ll just memorize where they all are on the panel.
It does smell VERY BAD and smokes a bit at first (as they describe in their manual) but I find that it’s taking a few weeks for that to completely dissipate! It hasn’t tainted my food or affected the taste of my re-heated cups of tea any though. It just makes my kitchen smell.
I think it’s worth the money and I DIDN’T want a “retro” look or a black one so I’m pleased even though it’s possibly a little dated. (Ironically)
Purchased this because I wanted a smaller oven and it does the job. Only gripe is that I suffer from Ostearthritis in both my hands and the timer knob is quite hard to turn to the setting. Otherwise a good purchase for occasional use.
Good price and service. Nice look. Was pur hased ss a gift for an elderly brother, he loves it, so easy to use. Highly recommended
Great item and superb value for money. The only thing I found a little annoying about it is that that the control button markings are difficult to see if it’s placed in a dull place or in a generally dull room (like our kitchen). I have to switch on the kitchen light on dull days to be able to see the button markings clearly. Otherwise a really good quality product and I am very pleased with it.
I didn’t want a loads of digital presets and electronic switches. Two knobs temp and time. Simple to use no fuss. Like all micro waves it’s tricky to clean the sides inside but a little less fussy than some others I’ve owned. I like it, it’s a nice machine.
I am pleased with this Toshiba microwave and like the feature of having the temperature control settings from 1 -10.
Easy to use, although the dials could be difficult to turn for disabled or the elderly. The internal paint peeled off less than 18 months old
As the inside is black and the knobs too it is difficult to see when there are spills inside and also difficult to see the settings on the knobs.
I ordered without having seen this model beforehand, and was disappointed because of this.
Bought exact same microwave as it is value for money and I did not have any issues with it before. It was a replacement due to wear and tear. The microwave also and with my decor in the kitche
The Tobias microwave is easy to use. It is all push button and so simple with excellent instruction. Compact and value for money.
Bought to replace an aging Panasonic and it meets my expectations perfectly. The oven is well made and sturdy, easy to set up and to program. Cooking results are what you would expect from an 800 watt oven and the display is clear and easy to read. Overall a worthwhile purchase.
Although this microwave is smaller than my previous Panasonic it is just large enough to fit the cooking dishes I normally use if I am careful to centre them up.
The best features are the simple methods to start cooking by pressing buttons which correspond to the number of minutes, and the +30 second start for short cooking, for example 3 presses gives 1and 1/2 min used for scrambled egg!
Back to basics mic’ . Works perfectly well. I loved the mechanical timer and bell, from a design / style point of view, but my eyes aren’t what they were, and actually the digital timer version of this Toshiba mic’ might have been better for me. Very pleased withe the purchase.
This microwave does exactly as it says it would. The only down side I’d that the timer is not digital therefore there is no countdown to zero and when something needs to be on for 2mins and 15 seconds it isn’t easy to set the timer exactly. We should have noticed this before we bought it.
Have been using this for two months, works fine.
The smooth knob mentioned by other reviewers is only a mild annoyance – can’t get sufficient grip if my hands are wet. Worth putting up with for the price, but it can’t cost THAT much to put some texture on the knob
When you are setting clock for first time as per manual, it does not work I fished about and found that I needed to press memory after setting each digit to set correct time. it does not tell you this in manual
Bought this Toshiba microwave to replace our old one as it stopped working and must say am very pleased with it and controls are easy operated and would recommend i
Great value for money. Good looking machine. Easy to use. Thank you.
I reheat in my air fryer whenever possible so I wanted a small basic machine and this fits the bill perfectly.
I’ve always had bigger high tech with grill microwaves before and never used 90% of the functions, great decision to save money and get a ‘fit for purpose’ machine.
Smart and fairly simple to use. I find touch screen buttons require a very firm press to respond but otherwise o.k.
Arrived as promised and well packaged. Very very easy to use. Couldn’t be happier with this cooker. Excellent value.
had to buy this as my old one was not heating the food the the correct temperature. I have used it and what a difference to the food, easy to clean and would buy again thank you
This oven is spoilt by not having an internal light which comes on as soon as you power up at the socket. It only comes on when you shut the door so it is difficult to adjust the turntable before use.
We were looking for a smaller microwave and this one fits the bill. It is not as powerful as the last one we had but it is small, neat and tidy so suitable for the two of us…
Replacement for 7 year old (different brand) one.
Noticibly more powerful than old one, though rated same. Same probably applies to me though!
Only possible gripes… Timer dial is a bit stiff and, with unit being in a corner, it’s a little hard to actually read the numbers.
No fancy buttons just two dials for wattage and time. If you want to set it at 30 seconds you can’t, but that is not why I bought it. Great for reheating and defrosting.
Bought in a hurry when our old microwave oven packed up. This one was inexpensive, has proved easy to use and does all we wa
Lovely quality, microwave oven with clear instructions. Good value for money. Easy wipe inside for cleaning. Nice grey interior with usual fittings. Fast delivery.
I am very happy with my new microwave. I purchased it to replace my old one that was a lot older with less features on. It. has lots of features that I am enjoying learning to use
Only very tiny issue is the timer knob which you need to put on for approx 30 seconds more as if only wanting 1 minute will find that it stops short. Otherwise good.
This is a good, basic microwave. Simple dial controls. The one fault is that the timer dial is a bit stiff, making it difficult to turn with wet or greasy hands.
The Toshiba Microwave is easy to use with a variety of programmes depending on what ever you need. It’s well made and I think it is also great value as well. I am totally satisfied. Thank you. Derek.
Great value and packaging. It’s a good make and you get thorough instructions. The fact that it has so much difference in weight to the fancier broken one makes me think it’s sturdy. It has special paint so it shouldn’t get rusty like the previous one which sparked ,set alight. A great defrosting setting.
It is a great looking microwave easy to use (I wanted a manual one not digital) and this is just right great size nice colour looks good quality great price would recommend so fa
This a very good value microwave oven at reasonable price. Plenty of functionality, able to bake three potatoes in one go, and get them cooked perfectly. No need to say any more, do not hesitate, for around 60 it is great value.
I looked on Amazon for the lowest price 800 watt microwave. We mostly just use it to reheat drinks and my wife cooks her breakfadt porridge in it. Its simple, reasonably cheap and does what we expect of it.
Excellent microwave. My only gripe is, it doesn’t beep again after a minute, and so much microwaved food has to stand for a minute. Minor gripe though. Very happy with it.
Works fine, still smelling a little funky after quite a few uses, but does the job. Not sure its quite worth the price though.
Pretty pleased – good value etc but was surprised that I have a bit of a “jiggle” to get a normal size dinner plate in comfortably. It fits in but obnly jus
Since moving into our new house I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to get a microwave so when I saw this for 50 on prime day, I thought why not.
The microwave is nice and compact for a 20l microwave and it has no trouble fitting a standard sized dinner plate. The compact size was especially important as our kitchen is quite small so we needed to minimise space usage.
I’ve been using it for while now to cook a variety of dishes and it’s been working really well so far. From jacket potatoes to melt in the middle puddings it handles all with ease.
The white design is quite neutral and fits in well with the rest of the kitchen. The only thing that lets this microwave down is the feet. Because they’re not rubber it means that if you have this flat against a wall and you press the door open button the whole microwave slides around. If it wasn’t for that I would have given this 5 stars. Thankfully we have microwave in the corner so we don’t have this issue but it’s something to be aware of.
Very easy to set up.
Will take the standard 10″ dining plate.
Excellent Value Amazon deal
Just one point, the lowest time setting is 30 seconds.
You can not just pop the teacup in for 10 seconds to warm up
The Microwave is brilliant except I need a torch to see the controls. The button is black with the smallest of white markings. I put it on a worktop but have to read it but torchlight. But other than that its really good for my needs
Excellent performance ..cooks 25% quicker than the old one (same wattage)..light only on during cooking very pleased all round.
Food tastes really fresh .
Great wee machine but no light in it when you open the door. But it lights when you use it. Plus the black dials are very hard to read as I’m an elderly person.
Good value microwave. Purchased for occasional use in summer when Aga off. Simple to use and clean. Marked down as touch controls sometimes need a good push and door mechanism a bit clunky. Otherwise a good microwave for the purpose.
Purchased 15th November 2019. Problems from the start. Sometimes it starts to flash and I have to stop it immediately. I think it would set on fire if I left it. Now I am afraid to use it any more. What do I do about it?
Initially we were put off by some rather negative reviews but after looking at the product we decided to give it a chance and we are delighted that we did because this compact microwave oven is absolutely brilliant. It not only looks very stylish but actually works very nicely too. Excellent price for a well known manufacturer.
We don’t have a lot of spare space on our kitchen counter so we wanted a smaller 20L microwave. This one does everything that we need.
Some of the features that I like include:
* It displays the time whenever the microwave is not in use. Not all microwaves have the time on them – as some go into energy-saving modes. However, I really wanted to be able to see the time on a microwave.
* It only requires one button press to operate the microwave at full power for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 minutes. Just press that number key and the microwave comes on at 100% power.
* It also has three programmable buttons. For example, if you regularly cook something for 5 minutes 30 seconds at 50% power, that is about 10 key presses. But you can save up to three programmes in the memory. Just hit the ‘memory’ button (also the zero) and then either 1, 2 or 3 to start your programme.
HOWEVER, the main issue we have with the microwave is that there is a lot of condensation that builds up inside – far more than our previous microwave. It drips off the back and puddles inside. It either needs the door open (which then activates the interior light) for 10 minutes after use or wiping up with a cloth.
Also, it is only an 800W microwave though; if you need a more powerful microwave or you wish to have a grill, then this Toshiba microwave is NOT for you.
Overall we’re reasonably happy with this microwave. It does what we need, looks smart and was good value.
Am happy with this microwave only ordered it on Monday 30March and it arrived today Tuesday 31 wow that’s so quick considering that it’s not due till next Saturday very happy thank you Amazo
This is a pretty standard microwave, which appears to be working fine. It gives off a bit of a smell when it’s in operation, which I hope will eventually disappear; otherwise no complaints.
Nice good enough microwave. Easy to use and powerful. I still need to understand some of the features but so far, so good. The clock is 12 hours so don’t be led into thinking it’s faulty (I did). A bit steamy sometimes but it’s ok if you figure out the time.
Good value for money – really impressed with the compact size externally and a discreet design (my last microwave was ultra modern but very bulky and actually didn’t hold a bigger size plate, it was just awkward and took up the kitchen worktop) This is stylish, unobtrusive easy to use and wipes clean too.
There is only one problem with this microwave and that is that it has dark colours over a black background making it almost impossible to see the settings, the same applies to the knobs that you set the settings by. These are also black with no markings on whatsoever but in place of a mark is a small cutout on the know again this is impossible to see. I have had to add some white strips of white sticky back tape on both to assist with setting the times etc. Even so this is not ideal as I and my carer still cannot see the numbers only the white strips i have added on the common used times. The image i so online looked more legible and as a retired professional photographer I know why, we use lights in my profession to provide a bright lights on the subject, but in the real world this can give a false impression, as in this case.
I am so pleased with this microwave. It is compact, but takes a dinner plate easily. So easy to use with the quick start too. Excellent quality.
Ordered in the evening and arrived next morning. Switched on, set the time and heated a cup of soup as a test, result, piping hot soup. What more could you want, neat, stylish and works as expected, I’m happy. Plus of course the price is very reasonable.
Great for Dad’s needs, as you can see, he uses it daily! Only drawback is the internal light is quite dim through the door glass.
I have poor eyesight so have difficulty seeing the marker for the timer but overall it works for us. I didn’t want all bells and whistles as I really only want a machine to cook porridge and reheat meals. It does this at a great price
Fairly basic microwave, although one-button access to common programs (1 minute, 2 minute, hot drink, etc) is nice. Push buttons are a bit unresponsive – especially if you forget to remove the protective film (cough). Toshiba makes a big fuss about how quiet the fan is (won’t disturb your sleeping baby), but it isn’t that quiet – and the 5 loud beeps to signal the end of cooking time will definitely wake that child.
It’s small, very small, neat, attractive and it does the job. I like the versatility of it’s settings very much. Great for cooking my porridge in stages. But having come from a 30yr old microwave which I now realise was huge…. I now wish I’d spent more and got something more substantial, less toy-like and easier to use.
For starters, there’s a 2 x 4inch panel that holds 24 rectangular switches under a shiny surface without a pip in sight, so you have to be precise in where you press and then make sure you press quite hard. For anyone old and a bit decrepit with failing eyesight like me, ie who can’t read the switch labels without their reading glasses, this is always something of a faff.
Next comes the The Opening. This microwave doesn’t have a handle with which to open the door. Oh no. This is achieved by ramming an arthritic thumb deep into it’s interior and then a bit deeper still until the door suddenly springs open with a vengeance and then bounces back again off it’s hinges, so be very careful if in your other hand you’re holding anything liquid ready to ‘just pop into’ the microwave. If the opening press-button was in the left hand corner things would be so much easier and less of a 2 handed faff every time you go to microwave something. Which brings me to the closing of the door and what was originally my pet peeve. You can’t close the door quietly however carefully you try. There is an almighty thwack and clang every time that belies it’s small size. So forget any secret late night microwaving because you’ll wake the household. After some prodding and poking I discovered that the front switch panel on mine wasn’t secured at the base to the main body of the unit, and after tightening this up by ramming a sliver of debit card into the gap, and sticking a couple of Sticky Fixer pads to the inside corners of the door, the door now shuts with less of a rattly clang and more of a satisfying, albeit loud, thud.
Something else that made me tut and which I haven’t seen anyone else mention is the mains lead. It’s black. On this little pure white microwave that goes well with my other white kitchen appliances and my white paintwork and white power sockets on the worktop wall they’ve put a great big thick black cable and plug! Madness if you ask me.
I’m still giving it 5 stars though. But next time I’ll get one with a door handle.
This microwave is very simple to use, shortcuts for frequently used times, just pressing the button and hey ho it works! Fits comfortably in my small kitchen and looks the business.
Had clean lines, not too fussy and clear instructions for use. Have been very pleased with its performance.
QUITE A NICE MICROWAVE OVEN–small but takes a full size dinner plate–the 30 second feature is usefull.
This is a great small microwave, easy to use and fits a full size dinner plate easily. So far so good
My husband would be lost without a little microwave and the seal on our ancient microwave was extremely suspect, so needed replacing. It needed to be small ish, simple to use and we certainly didn’t need lots of bells and whistles. The price was right on this one, as well, so I ordered it on Amazon and it seems to fit the bill perfectly. It’s easy to clean and doesn’t take up too much room, which is important. Work surfaces are there for doing things on, not to be occupied by gadgets that I rarely use.
Great little microwave easy to use plenty of power setting.
I generally use it for reheating, baked potatoes and microwave meals etc
