Peace at last!
No longer can we hear the shouts and cries of our son’s fellow squad mates while they spend countless hours playing Fortnite! Peace has once more been restored to our household. Thank you turtle beach
(As a side note the headset itself is great value for money. We’ll made, good sound and I guess the microphone quality is good as I haven’t had any complaints? Didn’t want to spend a fortune with Xmas coming up so these ticked the box nicely. Would recommend to anyone else wishing for peace and quiet in their own home)

Saw some other reveiws on it saying ‘DONT BUY,!!’ So im a tad but worried the mic will stop working because thats what theyve said. It has been working ok when ive been using it. Its better than my last one. I can vibe with my mates for now. I will edit this reveiw if anything goes wrong. But good for now.
Good cheap headse
Does the job.. can use on a ps4 controller just fine. Unsure if they do on xbox but the sound quality is fine and so is the speaker. Bought these as a cheap replacement for another set i had and these are just as good as the more expensive ones.

not bad. Very loud and superb base, well done.
the sound is amazing, crisp and clear and the pads on the ears are super comfortable.
the inline volume control is very useful and it’s at the perfect position for me.
Their small frame makes it pretty easy to store. I usually hang my headphones over my monitor, but if im a rush and I just chuck them on my desk, they dont take up too much space
Cons:
the downsides are, the wire is incredible too small and the where the wires from each ear meet is way too close, it needs to have a much longer wire, and the headphones need to connect further down said wire.
Also, the plastic frame feel incredible low quality and flimsy. just putting it on my head, I feel like it will snap at any minuet.
most of the other reviews have already covered this but, the included removable Boom mic does not work. I did notice the aux jack is direction, so I figured people were just putting it in wrong but no, it still doesn’t work
I also don’t like how the PC version is an extra 5 for, essentially, a different colour.
Conclusion:
They are not terrible. they sound great and they’re pretty cheap.
But, if you can afford it, I highly recommend the Turtle Beach Atlas Three Amplified Gaming Headset. they look better, have metal supports and amplified audio, as well as a working Microphone.

2nd pair we now own Having 2 pre teen boys who like gaming these are good solid.headset, was very handy to keep in touch with there friends during lock down have tried other makes they just don’t last as long the turtle beach is a good quality brand.
Decent headse
so far so good – a little quiet on the xbox even when settings all on high but headphones block out a lot of external sound so not really a problem and probably better for my hearing. Generally pretty comfy.
An ok headset for the price
For the price this headset is brilliant however that doesn’t mean you should buy it. In my opinion this is the best 20 headset out there and is a good starting point. The sound is ok but nothing special. The build quality is good for the price but just isn’t very good and could break easily. The coushioning is very poor and after a while hurts my head. The mic sounds great but feels cheap and can break easily the onboard mute and volume control feels cheap but I wouldn’t expect anything better for this price.

I have had this headset for a few years now and it has held up very well for the price! Great sound quality and nice structure. After a few years now though the frequency range is starting to narrow down and the lows are not very clear. The headset can also start to hurt your head a bit if it is worn for a long period of time without taking it off.

GREAT FOR PS4 GAMING
My son loves these for his PS4 gaming. They stopped working soon after using them, but the company replaced them quickly without quibble. Next set are working perfectly and they get a lot of use! Recommend.
Must have for any gamer!
If I had to describe these in one word, it’s have to be: EPIC! I know there are other brands out there with better specs, however, for the price of these you’ll be pressed to find better. I bought the as a temporary replacement for my Bose set and still have them going to this day. I’ve dropped them, kicked them, thrown them and much more and they keep asking for more. Got gamer kids? These are the ones for them.

They plug straight into the controller but you can have full stereo chat audio ONLY if you re-root all the game audio from your TV. This is annoying because I need to be able to hear RL stuff and these headsets don’t allow for that. They are very comfortable to use though and good value.

I’m a serious and competitive gamer, I went through a stage of buying a lot of different headsets and they broke within a few weeks, I’ve had this headset for well over 4 months now and its still like new, the audio quality is amazing and would highly recommend

This headset worked great for me until I got something better, if you stream you will be very happy with the mic… The only reason I gave this a 4 star is because the volume control started being doggy after 7 months… I look after my stuff so it was weird for it to feel like it will break soon, But overall sound quality is exceptional for the price but mic quality is great.

Bought this to replace a wireless turtle beach head set which my son broke as he kept charging it while using it and damaged the micro USB connections. This one was wired and a lot cheaper and plugs into the PS4 dualshock 4 controller so it’s close to him and won’t pull out of the socket. It has a cheap plastic feel to it but fits well and has a padded band for head comfort. The stereo sound is good and the mic sounds is clear. Great for the money and my son loves playing with his mates again.

Very good earphones for the price , this is the third pair but I use them every day & have done for the last 6 yrs ,, there good & the sound is excellent but if you use them every day they will start to break after 18 months of continuous use ,but for the price I don’t think you can complain…

Nice pair of headphones comfortable and adjustable to fit to your liking. Microphone is detachable via jack so you can easily replace it if there’s any problems. All in all great for gaming, volume control and muting is simple and easy to use good noise cancellation too.
Really good headset, sound quality is brilliant and they are comfortable to wear, even for extended periods of time.
The detachable microphone is nice but I also think it causes more issues, I’ve only had one person tell me about my microphone buzzing which was due to it being loose, but it’s still an issue that would be there is the microphone wasn’t detachable.

Look these phones work. My Son plays fortnite etc….and uses these phones all the time. They are clear and reproduce good sound effects for the price. I deducted a star as they usually break after 12 months.

More comfortable than “higher quality” headsets
This was my first ever headset, very comfortable, not too expensive. The mute button then broke (kept muting me), so I purchased a supposedly higher quality turtle beach headset. The latter was far less comfortable and around 3-4x the price. It then broke after a poor amount of time and I reinvested in another pair of this headset. Still probably my best purchase on this site.
Good quality xbox one headse
After using the headset for a few days, I have noticed that is comfortable to wear and doesn’t hurt you when you wear it for lenghty amounts of time. Quality of the headset is good, plugs straight into the controller. This probally drains the batterys of a controller alot so should have rechargeable batterys just in case.
Headset is made of good quality plastic and the sound quality is alright, I would like the volume to go a bit higher on the headset though. Overall a good product and would reccomend to anyone who needs a cheap xbox one headset.

Although its not fair to compare this to my Razer Kraken headset I was quite disappointed with how flimsy the build quality of this was, the sound quality is average but the headset itself is extremely cheap feeling which provides one major benefit, its really lightweight.

Really great headset, lived up to standards and performs very well. I prefer wired headsets to wireless because there is often some lag with wireless. The wireless headsets are also heavier and sometimes disconnect from the Xbox. Really pleased with this one though.

Good price
The Recon 50s are a headset that gets the job done. For the price you can’t really go wrong.
Keep in mind the more you spend on headsets the better the sound quality and comfort gets.
My only gripe worth mentioning about with the Recon 50s is that the lacking of padding on the top of the headset hurts my head a little after a few hrs game play. That is just my opinion and I have now rectified this by glueing a piece of foam on the top.

No bass, but it's sufficient for casual gaming.
The first thing I noticed when I powered it on was that there was no bass, or at least not enough for me to recognize it. Was using headphones before and sound quality is superior compared to this, but this one is able to squeeze much more sound which is exactly what I need for some games that I play. Ohh and it’s volume and mic control thingy gets hooked on my keyboard table as I try to lean back. Might break the cable one day!
So since my son added a gaming head set to his christmas list I have learnt that there are some really expensive ones out there! Came across these, happy with the reviews and the very happy with the price. They have not disappointed, my son is chuffed to bits, he says, they are comfy, the sound is great and that his friends can hear him clearly when he talks. As I am not a gamer I don’t know what else someone would be looking for, i would recommend for a first head set though.

Although pretty cheap this headset is pretty decent for the price that is. As Turtlebeach’s usually are pretty darned expensive and while they may not be the best they are pretty good if you want to save yourself a bit of cash.

Turtle Beach seem to have gone down a bit in quality over the years but this is still a good headset. The ear pieces are not massive which I prefer and the mic is flexible.

Perfect for Gaming

Very good, works with PS4 and Xbox one too! Feels quite plasticky and cheap compared to my other headset, but I had intended for this to be a cheap backup. The ear cups are also quite small – large ears might find it uncomfortable.
I have had a few pairs of these and they give excellent value for money. They have an excellent sound quality for gaming and the boom mic can folded up when not using or even move it if needs be. The reason I have had several of these is I keep standing on the wire but this is just my clumsyness

The sound from these little beauties is great. For the price I would not have expected anything better.
They do warm your ears up a little, but thats always going to happen with over the ear cans. Sound quality is good too, letting me hear sounds I didn’t know were even there when gaming. I haven’t listened to music with them, just gaming on the PS4.
They don’t need any power source, just plug in to the audio jack at the back of the controller, such a blessing.
This is probably the best headset I’ve ever used. It’s comfortable, has decent-quality sound and the wires don’t usually get tangled even if you just thrown the headset around! Another thing is is that it’s also cheap. Very cheap for a good headset! I’d definately recommend to anyone who is a gamer as the microphone is also good quality! I don’t usually find a lot of cheap, good-quality microphones nowadays. It’s quite durable, it’ll take a lot to break it (unless you of course apply pressure which you can only do by purpose) so overall, it’s good, no downsides!

Great value for the price. The sound quality is good and the phones fit comfortably over the ears. As well as providing good sound the noise is also contained effectively so avoiding annoying others. The microphone is removeable and, when fitted, can be positioned easily and is unobtrusive. I’ve not used the mic’ on line so can’t really vouch for the sound quality but it sounded ok during set up. Speaking of which… the headphones come with clear instructions and are easy to set up.
My one minor quibble is that the headband isn’t as well padded as some of the other admittedly more expensive alternatives.

So this is just the blue version of the same headset, which we also have in Green and White for the family. Works great, sounds good and can also be used for Skype, listening to music/films on the pc, phone or tablet device. Can;t say better than that.

Brilliant for the price. Bought one pair for myself and another for my brother. Changes your ps4 gaming experience if you play a lot of shooter games, COD, fortnite etc. You can hear enemy footsteps and which direction they’re in.

I am currently still using this product with my Xbox one controller and have had no problems. It is a very comfortable headset (especially if playing for long periods of time) and has multiple adjustment to fit your head. The ear cups for perfectly around the ears, as well as being comfortable. The microphone is good quality and my friends can hear me very clearly, also it blocks out most background noise. The cable adapter is very good as it allows you to use it for Xbox, PS4 and pc. My only negative was it didn’t come with a Xbox one controller adapter as it was labelled Xbox one. Would definitely recommend to a friend who needs a cheap, reliable gaming headset.

They aren’t noise cancelling but offer decent isolation. I have to bellow fairly loudly from the next room to get his attention.
He reports there is no echo or feedback whatsoever, which has been a problem with his previous headset.

Bought for my youngest son (14) and he loves them for use with his Xbox One.
They aren’t noise cancelling but offer decent isolation. I have to bellow fairly loudly from the next room to get his attention.
He reports there is no echo or feedback whatsoever, which has been a problem with his previous headset.
This was a surprise xmas present that was excitedly received with exclamations of :- ” Brilliant sound, comfortable to wear and so easy to use” Still working well 10 months later ( which is a 1st after all the headphones I have bought!)
Bought these for my teenage son, who put them on straight away and has used them pretty much every day since. He is very happy with them.
My son loves these, excellent price just a shame they not USB as he can no longer use as he has a steering wheel and there is no where to plugin the 3.5mm plug for sound.
I love these! highly recommended as a Christmas present for your gamer friend or for yourself. They aren’t very good for anything else though, as the sound quality seems to be optimized for use with gaming consoles.

I would highly recommend this headset. For cheap Xbox One gaming headsets, look no further. The sound quality is incredible and definitely offers you a huge advantage over regular players. The headset seems to be very well built and I have had no problems with that.
Recommended to my friends also.
Without paying 60+ this is the best headset you will find on the market.
I was reluctant to fork out for a set of heaphones just for a computer. However, the Turtle Beach Recon headphones are very easy to set up and offer a brilliant sound quality. The headphones allow you to adjust your mic volume, the game level volume together with the sound of players you’re playing with online.
There are cheaper offerings out there but they often require expensive additions or aren’t as easy or user friendly. I’d recommend these headphoens for any level of gammer.
Comfy, affordable, sound good
Good quality headset for the price, I’ve been using it for my PS4, my laptop and my phone for quite a while now and I love it.
The sound is good, I have used it for games and voice chat as well as music and they might not be the greatest in the world but they’re certainly great for their price range. The microphone is good for picking up my voice clearly and even picks up a bit of the background noise in my house, but that’s because I talk pretty quietly and have to have the detection set pretty sensitive. The foam pads are really comfortable and soft, not like some that I find push on my ears uncomfortably or squash my ears into my glasses which is pretty painful after a few hours!
Great sound quality and comfort for the price. I didn’t want to spend a massive amount on a headset that would just be worn when i play one game. So opting for the turtle beach brand this was a well priced, and still high quality product. The Mic detaches easily and is put in place easily with no movement or issues. the headset plugs directly into my PS4 controller using the mini jack port, and the inline mute and volume controls work perfectly.
There is a tiny bit of interference that can be heard if you really stretch your hearing but only when charging the controller at the same time as using it, and really it was only noticeable during quiet periods of the game, which don’t happen often!

It also benefits me because when he’s playing Call of Duty I can’t hear the gunshots!
The down side to this is that I can’t hear what he’s hearing, so parents should check on their kids on what they are watching.

I love this headset, it is very comfortable to wear for extended periods, adjusts well, and has good sound quality. The ear pieces are very comfortable, and the microphone has a good quality sound for other players. The microphone is also detachable which is great, as you can use it for sound without mic function, as well as being fully malleable, so you can hold it close or far, as you see fit. It attaches to a 3.5mm jack, with a nice quality thick cable, and has an extra mute and volume control on the wire.
The only downside as far as I can see, is that I would personally have liked a bit more padding on the top of the headset – there is a small amount of very thin padding, but it’s not as much as I would have hoped.

Son loves it - be careful it will fit your handset or extra cost will be incurred
For my son, who loves it and meets his needs. I don’t feel it made it clear that a new handset to make it compatible with xbox1 would have to be purchased. The text said ‘compatible’ and as such I expected it would work straight away. But unless you have a new xbox1 where the handset comes with the socket for this to fit in to, you I’ll have to by the adapter or a new handset which significantly increases the cost. So from that point of view, I was greatly disappointed. However delivery was very prompt, much sooner than estimated.
These plug straight into your PS4 controller, and then just go into settings on the console and make sure audio is set to come from headphones. Simple as that! The sound is good from these, plenty of punch and the headphones themselves are very comfortable even for extended playing times. It was also commented on by other people online that I was coming through very clearly. The microphone does detach which is handy for when you don’t need/want to chat. At the price they are, it’s a real bargain in my opinion. If you are looking for a cheap pair that do what they say on the tin, these are perfect.
For the people that marked them as a 1 because “They don’t work on a pc or xbox”, I’m guessing you didn’t read the product description, hardly the fault of the product is it!

I have been using it for a few weeks now and it seems to be pretty good and seeing as I got it for 16 its proving to be a bit of a bargain. The only slight concern is sometimes my friends say my mic is really quiet and sometimes cant actually hear me. However that generally occurs when the mic is quite far away from my mouth because im eating etc or when all my housemates have gone to bed and I lower my voice a tad to void waking them, so its not the end of the world. I recommend, I will edit this if any problem arises in the not so distant future! All the best yo
Excellent Budget Headset.
Very good value for money. I bought these for PC gaming, so I can’t speak for how they perform with console gaming.
The mic can be unplugged and is un-intrusive, and I have been told the quality is quite crisp and overall better than the macbook pro inbuilt microphone I used prior to purchasing them.
Headphones are lightweight and quite comfortable to wear, some headphones I have worn in the past do feel heavy on the head and get uncomfortable to wear over time – these do not.
Ear cups do a solid job at keeping outside noise out, especially at this kind of pricing.
Sound quality is also solid, good for the price but it isn’t going to blow you away like a more expensive headset.
My main problem with this headset so far is the wires. Wire is fairly short, about 3 feet from jack to earphones. The other issue is that the wires do split into each earphones fairly high up- lower split would have been nicer, and only one wire up to the head could have been even nicer.
Overall, an excellent budget headset, but if you are a PC gamer you may find yourself needing to invest in 3.5mm extension cable.
For the price, this is probably the best all round headset available. It’s not amazing sound quality but for the price I wasn’t expecting that. If you are looking for absolutely amazing sound quality, I would have a look at a more expensive headset because it just doesn’t exist at this price range.
There is one thing I must mention that I know caught me out and someone else I know who also brought this same headset. The way it works is through a mic and speaker 3.5mm jack slot. This slot is only on the latest Xbox One controller. Luckily for me, I’d pre ordered the Elite controller which has the slot. However, if you don’t have the slot, it’s either a new controller, the official adaptor which is available on Amazon for 17.99 or a new headset.
It does also work on the PS4 and I haven’t tested it on PC or Mac as I don’t have the splitter cable but I have no reason to suspect it won’t work on them as well.
Apart from the problem with the audio jack which is this headset’s main flaw as it’s advertised for the Xbox One, this headset is a great all rounder and I would recommend it to anyone.
