Very satisfied!
This has worked really well in a range of different lengths of grass. The battery lasts well, and having a spare battery is a real bonus for getting the jobs done. Lightweight and easy to use.
Easy to use
Not really powerful enough for big areas of longish grass but ideal for small areas where the grass needs a trim, light weight and easy to use so is ideal for difficult areas such as around trees or gate posts where a more powerful petrol strimmer would be too clumsy, the battery lasts quite a while, the shaft is collapsible so is easy to store, for the price it’s worth it, with the advantage that it can be used instantly, no fuelling etc. But for tough jobs I’ll use my petrol strimmer.
Lightweight and surprisingly powerful
Absolutely brilliant! Really lightweight, great battery charge time, really impressed !
Grea
Brought as a pressent and he loves it good quality
Ligh
Nice and light, does a good job of trimming, easy to use
First impressions of the trimmer are positive. Light-ish but robust enough to get through trimming and edging without the line snapping. However. if you’re buying the version with two batteries, as I did, be aware that Amazon’s description is wrong – it comes with only the basic 400mA (3-9 hour) charger and not the 60-minute 2A version as stated. Additionally, the two batteries are pared down and do not have a visual indication of remaining charge.
Easy to use strimme
This replaced an old one (not Worx) which was nearly unusable because the battery held only a few minutes charge and the manufacturer no longer supplied replacement batteries, nor could I find a third party on on the web. I like the ease of use with the wide mowing width of this new strimmer. The battery life is sufficient to do all the paths and edges of two allotments or for our whole back lawn. I bought Worx brand as the battery powers many devices so is likely to be supported in the long term, and this strimmer came with a second battery. The only downside was that the strimmer line supplied was not wound properly on the spool and snapped inside where it was trapped underneath itself and would not auto feed.
Very good
I am very pleased with my Worx it does the job and i am pleased with the battery life.
This is a great strimmer BUT ti have had 2 now,and the strimmer STRING,keeps coming out on its own…..HAVE YOU SORTED THIS ISSUE ??.?.
Great Strimme
Great Strimmer Easy to use not the lightest but far better than having cables everywhere !!!!
Well made with good adjustments for height.
Comes with two batteries last about half hour each on an average garden.
all in all a great piece of kit highly recommended
Strimme
Great strimmer but missing the flower guard shown on the videos, pity
Good value
Does the job very good tool, + batterys will fit other Worx tools
Just the job
I bought this to replace a corded strimmer. What a difference. You must charge the batteries before you start. This can take up to 5 hours The longest length of time I have used the strimmer was 40 minutes and there was still plenty of life left in the battery
The auto line feed works brilliantly , and the line strength is very impressive, ripping through the longer grass effortlessly. The edging conversion was simple to do and once again easy to keep a straight edge.
I think I am the envy of the neighbourhood!!
Update to my earlier review
Update
One year and a bit later still same cord on the reel that came with it but base plate worn away (made of soft cheese type plastic)
Bought my Worx strimmer in may 2021now July 22 and have been 100% happy with it and can say this is the best one I have ever owned the freedom of going cordless changes the whole user experience of strimming the garden.
Would still buy another one as yes the base plate do ware out but 1 year seems short.
I found this effective, but it is quite hard work in general use although the presence of wheels helps take up some of the strain when it comes to edging lawns.
I chose the **.2 option**, which meant I received two batteries and the basic charger, which is so small that it effectively looks like a battery that has a charger attached rather than the other way around. The batteries are not supplied with any pre-existing charge and each one takes about five hours to achieve a full charge, so ten hours needs to be set aside before first use if you have a lot of strimming that needs to be done. I found a battery lasted for about 25 minutes of fairly intense work with the odd start and stop included. It doesn’t feel like very good payback for the time spent charging.
Knowing what I do now, I would choose the fast charger and get at least two batteries so that I could get more done and not have quite so much time needing to be spent waiting for charging. But I do have more than an acre of lawn and edging that needs attention and has previously been neglected before my arrival, so a couple of batteries will be ample for a smaller space.
Great strimme
Bought to replace cheaper strimmer. Used to keep Family graves tidy. Very good strimmer, easy to assemble, lightweight good cutting cord. Already have worx tools so extra batteries a bonus, very good tool, cord last longer than cheaper strimmers & easy feed when required. Thoughrelly reccomend this strimmer. Arrived as advised, well packaged from amazon warehouse.
Replaces previous Worx
My previous Worx strimmer lasted 10 years. The new one is easier to use and I hope it lasts as long. Battery life good
handles well
good sturdy machine, easy to handle and is as light as a feathe
Very Impressed
Great strummer, easy to operate and super light, not suitable for heavy duty work but ideal for doing edges.
You can get it out the shed use it and put it back by the time you have unraveled the cable on my old one!
Nice to use
Really great product this make seems to be the best got the mower & car polisher too.
Extraordinary battery life
I bought this with the Worx blower as a pair, to share one battery. I have a large lawn and both these products manage it brilliantly. The strimmer is very light such that my wife has no problems using it (when I can get her to do so!). It is easy to hold with a second adjustable handle that is very comfortable. The usage height is adjustable over a wide range. It cuts grass and weeds without a problem and the automatic spool feed is a dream. It is easily changes to an edger which also works very well. Once again a 6 star.
The battery life is extraordinary and deserves 6 stars in its own right. I also have the Worx Impact Driver and Saw and share batteries across all these products. Again the usage life is wonderful. I wish I had started this range of products years ago.
So useful
Purchased to compliment my WORX mower as uses same battery. The Side wheels are very effective for edges as are bigger than on my corded strimme
Good Strimmer BUT
Strummer is great with two batteries BUT the charger is rubbish, it takes in excess of 6 hours to charge the batteries! I nearly sent the lot back as I thought that the charger did not work
Very effective strimme
I bought this to replace the previous model, so I already had the batteries and charger. This model works much more effectively and the battery seems to last a lot longer. The weight and balance with the adjustable handle make it more comfortable to use as well. A significant improvement.
Seems great so fa
Product arrived on time and was ready to go in a couple of minutes (probably took longer to open the heavily sellotaped box than it did to put it together!). Instructions are the kind where it is a series of diagrams rather than written instructions, but they are pretty straightforward.
Initial battery charge takes a few hours but so far haven’t had any issues. I probably spend about 30 minutes strimming /edging with no problems and the battery recharges within a couple of minutes.
Strimmer itself is lightweight and height-adjustable. Haven’t quite worked out the autofeed on the handle yet but admittedly I haven’t bothered to look in the instructions. I did notice that there is a button on the spool to manually feed it and that has worked fine so far. All in all, it is much lighter and quieter than the petrol strimmer multi-tool I had previously. Very happy so far.
Extremely Ligh
Got this to replace a petrol strimmer which was so heavy it came with a harness! This was easy to assemble and my 13 yr old son had no problems moving it around the garden. I would recommend for older people and anyone else. The 2 batteries are the bulk of the cost but very handy particularly if you have other Worx tools.
Great tool
This is the best battery tool I hve bought for the garden. The qulaity of the components that make up the assembly are top notch and the design details are superb. I reaally love using this tool and it makes gardening a pleasure. naturally it does not give the same power as a plug in product, however, for 99% of the tasks that you will need this for it is execllent and well worth a purchase. I would buy another without any hesitation expecially as it has the usual Worx quality and efficiency I hve come to expect.
A brilliant tool.
The performance of this cordless grass strimmer exceeded my expectations. It does everything that my cumbersome petrol strimmer was used for. It has become another item in my set of Worx itools using the same battery system.
Awesome
Bought for a garden clearing project.amazed by power and battery life.really good tool eats up brambles and weeds
WORX WG157E.9 18V Grass Trimme
The WORX WG157E.9 18V Grass Trimmer is lightweight and easy to use. The battery life is ample for my borders around the house. Most of the grass is cut easily but the tougher plants need a bit more attention. I have a Stihl petrol trimmer which is far more powerful but also far heavier and a lot more hassle to use.
Battery life not good
Very light weight, simple to adjust etc, but disappointed with battery life
Ideal for for people who have reached retirement age and are physically challenged
It is ideal as the weight of the tool is manageable for small awkward areas requiring manoeuvrability between plants. The battery lasts beyond your personal energy levels
Excelle
I’ve edged and strimmed everything in sight, even the weeds on the pavement. I love the freedom of this cordless tool and so light weight. With no cable to worry about, I can use front or back 100 feet down the garden. The battery lasts me about 20 minutes in heavy use before it needs charging again but that’s fine for me. The noise from it is less unpleasant an electric one. I don’t think you would regret buying this strimmer. When I needed to replace line, I found this one fits it fine but there are others are available too that say they fit the WG157E.9 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07S58LGQB/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Cynic converted
I bought this on a whim having became disillusioned with my temperamental petrol strimmer. I don’t have a huge garden but hate trailing electric extension cables around for an electric strimmer so petrol seemed the sensible option, my petrol mower is brilliant, strimmer not so. In reality, this small, lightweight unit performed as well as my petrol strimmer for borders, around fence posts etc and I already had the batteries. I’d have no issues recommending these to others with similar requirements.
Battery lasts longer than expected
No mains cable to trip over is a big bonus for me. I had thought that the battery would just last long enough to cut the small grass patch at the rear of my home. Big surprise, not only the back but also the larger lawn at the front. Also used it to trim a dwarf rhododendron bush. Would recommend.
great company To deal with
Item faulty after a few time used returned under warranty and issued with new replacement great company To deal with customer service grea
Does the job!
It is lighter than my old wired Strimmer and this helps make it so much easier to use. I trimmed the edge of my lawn and the next door neighbours two lawns and there was plenty of battery power left, money well spent!
Battery powered.
Bought to tidy family graves did 5 no loss of power no problems with line feed unlike my 13a lead strimmer. Light to carry to church yard.Didn’t need to buy batteries and charger as I have a Worx drill be careful when ordering spare line items from China mine never came but got full refund. Also used it to clear overgrowth around village flower planters did with ease. Think my other strimmer will stay in retirement.
perfect grass strimmer best one i have ever had
as good reviews as you can have for a grass strimmer have used it so many times and only wanted to give a review after using it several times works to perfection and i like it because it comes with a spare battery

very inpressed
I would recomend this item worked so well, I had to tackle a very oer grown garden & this cut through the long grass, nettles etc in no time & with ease, the grass etc was approx waist high & the battery lasted, just did it in two stages but was large back garden.
Very Pleased with all of item
One of the better ones
Needed a new one as my old one give up. This one is great as it has wheels as an attachment which work well. This is the one to buy, very pleased with i
Lightweight perfec
Item is easy to assemble, Battery has a good life, Most important item is lightweight.

Brillia
One of the best purchases I’ve bought, does exactly what it says on the tin 5
Great bit of ki
Got sick and tired of trying to start my petrol strimmer and when it did run the noise and smell. This thing is great, quiet, no starting, doesn’t stink and is a lot lighter. Becoming a fan of worx battery tools.
The bests strimmer I have had
This is a great little strimmer for light strimming areas. I just love the fact that it can be turned around and used for edging. Unlike other ‘edging strimmers’ this works really well.
Good strimme
Nice and light ti use.strong grass cable dose not brake easeily
Very good
Seems decent, used it a couple of times now. I have the hammer drill and impact driver so used one of those batteries.
It doesn’t seem to eat through the strimmer line like my old corded one did. Have a fairly long garden so being cable free is a bonus.

Update after 2 years
I’ve posted pics of before and after. Took about 1.5 batteries to clear that which in very happy with as that’s heavy strimming. The string is super tough, doesn’t snap on rocks or the fence. I bought this because I’ve already got a Worx cordless drill with 2 batteries. The batteries are interchangeable as the pics show. They are slightly different looking but it’s cosmetic, the batteries have the same part number, WA3551.1
I actually like strimming now, didn’t think I’d say that. When we bought the house about a year back I cleared the back yard and used a big annoying Ryobi to strim the garden a long time back. It was strong but annoying to use, buying petrol and oil which stinks, kept cutting out, awkward, supper noisy and I had to get better earplugs, heavy and couldn’t be tilted it I got a wet oily bum. It is more powerful but the thicker string snaps more easily and its a right pain stopping it, tipping it a bit to get to the string cover to open it and release more while avoiding spilling the fuel. The house is still an ongoing project but at least the grassy areas are easy to manage now with this strimmer.
It isn’t heavy amd does make the arms ache but it’s no effort to swap hands unlike the big petrol strappy things.
Really versatile, easy to get under the hedge, ot pictured here and get the brambles Takes a while to get confident in adjusting the head by kind of standing on it!! I’m left handed so the edging is going to take practice as for edging it can only be set up for righties
Its a no brainer, no smoke, 1/2 the noise, no fuel mixing or storing, no smell, lighter, smaller as its telescopic and so much quieter but I still had earplugs in.
well made
Sturdy construction and great with adjustable height handle- works great so fa
Great for small to medium gardens
Lightweight, easy to use and battery life ok. I bought a second battery at time of purchase to give me more flexibility whilst strimming.
Worx allows batteries to be use on other tools gteat idea
Like the idea that battery and charger can be used with most Worx tools, adujusting the angle of handle to cutting head can be difficul

Very good bit of kit. Standard battery lasts ages but larger ones available on Amazon.
Rotates so you can edge the side of your lawn along pathways etc. Very easy to use and very light weight. Extend the line using command feed so no messing around like on older strimmers. Just press the button while it’s rotating and it lets more line out.

Great little work horse.
Had this for well over a year now, also have the worx 40v chainsaw that i swap the batteries with both brilliant, never let me down. I have a huge back yard and I can get it about 90% done, could finish if I rushed. To sum it up amazing strimmer best I’ve had yet.

Bad and Good
The Bad News – The battery only lasts 15 minutes (But I knew that as it has been well commented on).
The Good News – In 15 minutes I got a lot done and after 15 minutes I’m ready to move onto something else.
2 Batteries are pretty much a necessity though if you want to keep on going.
It’s a good strimmer. Light. Easy to handle and you can cover a lot of ground in 15 minutes.
Good value
Really like it! Light and easy to use. No trailing wires to wrap around things! Battery life not fantastic but you can’t have everything!
Great tool
Love these items from worx I also have the battery operated jet wash so can use batteries for both items.
Works surprisingly well for such a small machine
Bought this to augment a big petrol trimmer for use in small spaces that I could’t get the machine to.
The cord is tough and the little trimmer easily copes with quite big nettles and weeds.
Excellent piece of kit for its size.
Good quality, works well
Good quality, good value. Works well and so convenient. Battery doesn’t last as long as I would have liked, but just about long enough. Overall I would recommend it. Only criticism is it would have been better if it had come with two batteries, but that shouldn’t detract from buying.
Good
A good strimmer battery gives you a long running time

Great Machine for the price.
Brilliant for tidying up the edges. I love Worx and this is a great addition to my tools which all share batteries. 100% recommend.
Great bit of ki
Did not dislike anything came with 2 rechargeable batteries and charger and even better if you have other Worx tools like i have
A great lightweight - ready to go strimme
After using a heavy duty petrol strimmer, the convenience of this strimmer is much appreciated. String cassette doesn’t appear very big – but cord lasts for several battery charges providing strimming is not heavy duty or woody materials. Changing cassette simplicity itself (compared with my Stihl). Great for lightweight strimming – haven’t really used as an edger yet – but easy to transform. We don’t have hard paths which these edgers are really designed for.
Another innovative Works product, highly recommended.
I first bought a Works Jawsaw several years ago when they had not established themselves over here yet. Over the years I have been really impressed with the innovation and reliability of that product so being a great fan of Worx already I had high expectation for their strimmer.
I was not disappointed, this product is absolutely brilliant and I love the swappable battery system so much that I have already purchased a Worx drill / screwdriver which slots in exactly the same 20v power-pack.
I used the strimmer for the first time this morning and it was a joy to use. Areas and corners that had become overgrown were made short work of in no time and it didn’t seem to dent the available battery power either. As you would expect from a Worx product it is innovative with a useful roller system for edge trimming and a command button on the handle that feeds out extra cord if you need it. And I just love the battery system, the way it neatly snaps in under the handle and that fast charger is so nicely designed.
It also features an adjustable cord guard and the shaft of the strimmer can be extended or twisted at right angles for lawn edge strimming.
So I can’t recommend this product enough, it really is a cut above the rest.
On and on battery life
An excellent machine for this price, especially when it comes with 2 batteries. I have a big lawn with lots of edging and 1 battery has completed the task at least 5 times before it needs recharging, I don’t think I will need a spare battery. On the strength and performance of this I am seriously considering other products in the range.

Light, easy to use and ergonomic handle
I only recently bought this product and I have tested it to ensure all is well.
I bought this garden tool as I have other Worx products and I am very happy with them for a number of years now.
The two batteries which came with the device charged as advertised and the assembly required is minimal.
The telescopic handle is nice and the locking mechanism easy to use.
The distance wire guard pulls out and is a good guide when strimming to avoid damage to flowers. It does however push in quite easily.
The plastic guard is effective and the line feed is a nice feature, as is the double wheel attachment for edging.
The only thing I don’t like is the mechanism to fold and adjust the strimming guard angle. It works, but it feels just wrong to just force it over a plastic type ratchet.
I ended up using a little silicone oil to reduce friction a little.
It remains to be seen how it performs long-term.
With that in mind the 3 year warranty on registration is a bonus and gives piece of mind.
Ease of of use.
Great bit of kit no worries about cutting through cables as I go around the garden. It’s lightweight & easy to use. Would recommend to anyone.
batteries
Although batteries last pretty well if you have a very large garden consider buying a spares
strimmer works exceptionally well
Not too heavy and good line feed.
Thumb feed for the line is very good, much better than other ways of line feed. Fairly quiet and as vibration free as a strimmer can be. Already using Worx tools so fits well with existing batteries.

Handy piece of kit.
Easy to assemble, fully adjustable. Lightweight. Battery life improves the more charging cycles are applied. More than adequate for trimming a normal size garden. Pleased with this product.
