Asked my daughter what she wanted for her birthday and she asked for Dobble . Its a very simply game and requires minimum 2 players. It is good for your brain and tests how quick and fast you can think 🙂

The game is for all levels of people and you have to be fast and identify the match. The game can be played in 4 different ways. I reallty enjoy playing this as family and every time we play my youngest one always wins and i loose 🙁 hehehe.
I had never heard of Dobble until now. You get several different type of Dobbles available.
Great game to involve the whole family and friends when at home.

I really hope you found my review helpful and would love for you to click on the “YES” button to say so. This is a fab little game for the whole family; whether you’re at home or on the go. There are several little mini games and they all provide great entertainment. Each round only takes a few minutes so it’s a great option when you have a few minutes spare.

    So much fun
I play this with my family and friends all the time
    It’s great for all ages
The cards are great quality and if they get sticky you can easily wipe them down
You don’t have to play it on a beach!
I have both versions this one is a nice change

What a great game is Dobble. The mad rush to match a symbol on your card with the one on the table is amazing fun for family or at work! (although it will get noisy).

As cards go, well made and comes in a tin to protect them from the elements while in storage or transit.

We bought this for our daughter (Harry Potter obsessed) but the whole family enjoy playing it. There are 4 different games that can be played with 2 or more people. They’re quick moving, easy to learn and alot of fun – and being compact it’s great to travel with. Fab!

This is a game of fast picture recognition. A friend introduced me to it and I really enjoyed it but thought it might have been just because I like fast games and am quick to see things. I have since played it with people ranging from 4 through to adults and they have all loved it. The recommended age is 6+ but my four-year-old does pretty well as long as I’m easy with her and give her a bit of time. Two people can play happily but some of the variations are much better with more.

My daughter played this with her therapist and loved it so much we brought it for home too. Nice easy game for all the family, comes in nice tin so easy to take away on holiday. There are other versions of the game, we got the harry potter one because that’s the one she used in therapy, it’s a better version of snap. My daughter is 10 and loves i

Super Fun (you will laugh all the time)
Easy to learn (thanks to the booklet)
Great for group (the more the merrier)
Great for party (you can understand even if you are drunk)
    Great for travel (small size)

I was introduced to Dobble by my five year-old granddaughter and decided to get the game myself for the wider family. As well as the variations suggested we have made up our own games and have found it very addictive. Often games ‘for the family’ are aimed at children and adults quickly become bored, but not in this case. It becomes a matter of honour for the adult to win at least once, but as this rarely happens they at least get the chance to demonstrate what being a good loser looks like. It’s also a good game for adults to play against each other, becoming fast and furious with no holds barred. Highly recommended and well worth the money.

My 6 yo loves this and we have great fun playing. Its been a while since i read the books but not all of the characters are immediately obvious and my daughter cant tell me yet as she has only read Books 1 and 2. Still definitely recommend this though.

I have now bought this for all family and friends it is a simple game to learn all ages can play together the principle is the same as snap but it’s pictures. It can be extremely frustrating because every card has a match but sometimes it is impossible to see a very well thought out game and the metal tin means it’s easy to keep

Great take on the original dobble game. we took it on holiday and had hours of fun. The only problem we encountered was when playing with people who weren’t familiar with the characters in Harry Potter or what the items are called (e.g. the golden snitch) Would end up shouting ‘golden ball with wings’ or ‘man with long hair and moustache’. Still prefer the original but definitely worth the money.

We had great fun on Christmas Day with Dobble (which we’d first found in an AirBNB abroad) It’s such a fun, quick, exasperatingly simple game which anyone can play. I was worried my old teens would chuck it in the bin after Christmas, but no, it’s come out regularly after dinner, and that’s pretty impressive for a simple card game in this day and age! And there are different rules you can play by, and occasionally we’ve even taken to calling out the names of the objects in different languages for practise…. like most simple ideas, brilliant. Why didn’t I think of that? And it’s a lot less arguing and stress than once a year Monopoly!

Bought as a gift for my nephew who is due to go travelling later on this year. We played it as a family at Christmas and had great fun. Easy to learn and good for all ages. Nice that it has variations of games to play. Makes a great travelling game as it is very compact.

We have the standard dobble and decided to extend our collection. It seems slightly harder than the original as they people at a glance look quite similar and the ‘colour groups ‘ in the original arent really there in this one. having said that the illustrations are lovely and even my 5 year old who could wipe the floor with many at original dobble is doing well playing this one.

This game is a hit with my 5 year old daughter. It is easy to transport with all the cards being held in a tin. Each player gets shuffled 1 card and the remaining main pile goes in the middle. The top card is turned over and you have to find a matching pair on your card before other players to win the card (each card will only have 1 matching pair) My daughter is a pro at this, me not so much but a easy game that gets played a lot.

Love this game, we already have the normal Dobble but my 10yr old is reading the Harry Potter books so thought I’d get him this for Christmas. As a Harry Potter fan he was very pleased with it.
It is a little more complicated as their are more characters to remember but that adds to the hilarity of the game I think. All ages that I’ve played with absolutely love this simple little game. In fact I think I should get commission as I’ve recommended it to so many people!

Our family love this game, its simple but very addictive, enjoyed equally by my 4 and 6 year old children and adults alike. We always pop it in the bag if we are going out to friends or family or out to social events. Keeps the kids entertained for ages and always gets others joining in.

Simple but effective. Read the good reviews and ordered. Wasn’t disappointed. Like a fancy snap but 5 variations in the instructions. I found it hard to find a family game that my 7 year old niece could join in on but she enjoyed playing this with the adults. Small tin so easy to take travelling.

I was a little worried that Dobble Kids wouldn’t be exciting enough for the tech savy children of today.

This was a Christmas present for my 5 year old niece and I ended up spending hours playing this with her on Christmas day – at her request.

The rules on how to play are given to you in a little booklet and they were simple enough for her to pick up.

A great game that got all the family involved!

If you are trying to find a present for someone who is really into boardgames, don’t buy this one. This game is for someone who quite likes boardgames, or is looking for something light and fun to do with friends and family.

It’s very easy to learn, doesn’t need any particular skill. Even my son aged 5 can learn to play it in a few minutes, and can join in the play. And most importantly, it is lot’s and lot’s of fun.

As it is so easy to teach, it is a great way to entertain guests. As it is a short game, you can always pack it away or carry on with another round, depending on how the guests react.

If you are a boardgame lover, and you want to get your spouse into boardgames, this game will be great for you too! Nice introductory level game. Great fun, for all people!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought for Christmas for my Harry Potter mad 7 year old daughter. We’ve played it endlessly. We’re addicted. The more we’ve played the more we’ve got the character names right – as they’re cartoon drawings of items and characters we shouted “that one” at first, which didn’t work as well, but then figured out who and what they all are and it’s got better and better. Quick wits and good eyes, bet it’s great for her young brain. She’s quite competitive with it, had to keep playing until she “won”. I’m fairly convinced that occasionally there are cards with no matches, but we’ve just moved on and not double checked. So long as one of us have found a match…..

We love games, this is one of three we’ve got this Christmas and the only one we could easily play without figuring out lots of tricky rules. Nice filler for a few spare minutes and would be great for a train journey.

Wonderful game that can be played by anyone from approximately 5 upwards. Children love it because their quick reflexes mean that they can often beat adults..!
It’s also easily portable, so ideal for holidays, and can be picked up quickly – no complicated rules to remember.

  24. MichaelLinthicu says:

     United Kingdom

Easy to pick up rules. There are about 4 or 5 different games you can play with same deck. You just have to match a symbol on your card with the centre one (for example). It never ceases to amaze that thee is a match of something between each card but often you can stare at 2 cards for 10+ seconds and not see what is staring you in the face; extraordinary.

This is a lovely game of “find the match”. One great feature is that the whole of a game might only be 5 or 10 minutes. Another good feature is that all the players are busy all the time (looking). And I have also known 4 year olds who just like looking at the cards and finding matches all by themselves. Blissful quiet 10 minutes for parents!!

Bought this to play with the grandkids aged 8 and 4. It’s very easy to play (just matching up pictures) and surprisingly addictive! It’s at a level that suits all ages, although the 4 year old wasn’t quite as quick to find a match so we had to make the odd allowance for her. Our 8 year old was so good that us oldies never won a game!
It seems expensive for a tin of cards but they are well made, beautifully designed and it’s quick and exciting to play.
    I would definitely recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy mind is blown. Such a simple little game involving matching. Boiled down to its basic premise, you need to try and spot which item on your card matches an item on another card. There will always be one item that matches. This is the part that makes my head spin! No idea how they manage to ensure there’s always one matching item, regardless of which 2 cards you pick up. Something to do with algorithms and a sprinkle of magic. There are several game variants to keep things interesting and the cards come in a very handy small tin so it’s fab for travelling, taking to the pub to keep the children entertained during Sunday lunch, or playing at home.

We have a number of the Dobble games but was looking for something for the poolside while on a recent holiday to Majorca.

The game is beautiful in its simplicity. I’ve been playing it with both my children from the age of two respectively. There’s a couple of different ways to play to keep it a bit different now & again.

This particular version now resides in my “Dad bag” and has seen more use beyond the holiday – we’ve used it in restaurants while waiting for meals or on the train. It’s compact, plastic-y for wipe clean, colourful and fun.

Absolutely love this game. I bought it after seeing Paddy McGuiness playing it on his Instagram when he was taking part in Soccer Aid and I thought it looked like a fun game to play with my family. Me and my 5 year old love playing this together and it really helps her practice with keeping her focus on a task, with her visual memory, taking turns and being a good sport. We often take this on trips away as it is so compact and easy to carry. Really good for camping trips and a game for all ages

OMG this is the best game ever! We have two 4 year olds and a 6 year olds and they were instantly in love with it, and so were we. There are so many ways to play and don’t expect the grown ups to have to “let the kids win” because this game is a great leveller. Love this game. Played it recently at a friends and had to get it. The only thing I would not recommend is playing on public transport as one of the symbols is a ‘bomb’ and I don’t think that fellow travellers would appreciate a group of people shouting that out loud…

Golden Review Award: 864 From Our UsersBought this for my wife as she likes basic games like UNO and is competitive as hell. To my horror she also destroys me almost every time we play. My eyesight isn’t the best but when she’s shouting out the names of the objects on the cards as she slams them down, it’s like I’m blinded. The cards become a blur and I start to imply she’s cheating as she can’t possiblly be faster at matching up two snowmen than I am. The more she speaks the more my brain freezes and I wonder whether the years of marriage have somehow programmed my brain to shutdown. Maybe I’m a walkover. Maybe I give up to easy. Maybe my own competitiveness consumes me like a straight jacket. All I know is, there will be many more defeats to come as I stubbornly expose myself to a relentless wave of igloo’s ladybugs and treble clefts that mock me as I stare them straight in the face. If you back yourself and want to destroy your partners life you should definitely get this game.

This game is soooo much fun and suitable for all ages. I am a resource primary teacher (grade school) and use it with my pupils. I have a 9 yr old pupil with a lot of learning difficulties who needs a lot of support with reading, writing and his attention span and he is amazing at this game. It’s fantastic to see how much confidence it gives him and he regularly asks to play it. He often beats me fair and square! My 3 yr old nephew, 6 yr old niece and 40 yr old sister are also big fans. We all play it together. I can’t recommend this game highly enough! Whoever devised it is a genius.

I love the fact that the cards are contained in a small tin, so it’s really easy to travel with.

My kids (11 and 8) are probably better at this game than we are.

This was recommended to me by a friend where it is a family favourite. Pleased to say it has likewise become one of our favourite family games to play. Concept is simple so younger children can also take part. A group of young kids can play together. If playing competitively with older children and adults we team up the younger children to give then a fair chance and in a team they often win. Great game. Quite quick to play as well but holds interest well over many games so is a versatile option depending on how much time you have available.

We played this in our local and were instantly hooked. The great thing about this game is that you can play it inebriated with fellow childish adults or you can play with the more junior members of the family. It’s a super fun simple game, although there are lots of different ways to play to keep it different. We introduced this to my mum on Christmas day and over the course of a gin she picked it right up (I’m not saying you don’t need to be drunk but it’s fun) and it was one of the most funniest parts of the day. It’s super fun and competitive but rounds are short so you’re not going to spend the entire evening doing it, and if you’re playing with kids it’s short and exciting enough to keep their attention. Definitely recommend this fun little game

What a brilliant game – such a simple idea and lots of alternative ways of playing it. It is great for kids and adults alike – the kids are actually better at it! All the cards have at least one matching symbol with all the other cards and the trick is to find it … it sounds easy but you’d be surprised; they are all the same symbol but in different places and different sizes. How you fail to see a 2cm symbol in the centre of a card is beyond me!

What a fabulous game. A simple idea, but fun to play. At Christmas, my 8 and 12 year old played this card game, ignoring their tablets. It’s all about matching a shape on your card with the card in the middle. As I say, it sounds easy but sometimes you will swear there’s no match – only for another player to point it out and you wonder how you couldn’t see it at the time. Comes in a small tin for storage and travel. I have no hesitation in recommending Dobble.

You get a booklet with different ways to play which means it doesn’t get too dull. It’s very clever because actually even though all symbols are on all cards because of the mix and sizing it’s really hard to find them under pressure. May get this out at Christmas time to play with the family.

    A fantastic rapid card game.
Would be enjoyed by 4 to 104 yr olds
A jumble of 8 out of a possible 50 symbols on cards, each card has only one match to any other card in the deck, your task is to find your matching symbol before your opponents beat you to it.
Loud, frantic, hilarious, frustrating and GREAT FUN.
All my grandchildren and adults love this game, takes a couple of minutes for each round so little ones never get bored by having to wait their turn, everyone plays simultaneously.
I also do solo rounds against a timer to keep my reactions and brain active.

Our family love nothing more than a fun board/card game and this is our favourite- Such a simple yet effective concept and gets super competitive. We’ve only played the pick up and the put down versions (although not so much the pick up as the cards get damaged during on feisty game!!) I’ve also played this with a group of friends whilst away on a girlie holiday at Center Parcs and I think that other 5 ladies purchased it within a week of getting home which is testament to Dobbles appeal. We have played at the dentist, at the sports centre, at the car garage, at the motorway services……the list goes on and on. its so good for just filling in that 10 minute gap where the kids are beginning to get restless. Nice and small to easily pop in a bag, if I havent got it with me I often regret it. Love all the different ways to play it, means you can always mix it up, which stops it from getting boring. We’ve created a few random games of our own too. Every household should own Dobble!!!

Golden Review Award: 174 From Our UsersWhat a brilliant and perfect game! This is a visual speed matching game. Things I love about this game:
    1. We found the children aged 5 and 7 were equally as good as the adults for this game, so we didn’t need to let them win. They genuinely won against us several times.
    2. The game is very fast to learn so anyone can join in instantly and be well matched against more experienced players.
    3. There are five variations on how to play which to learn if you want some variation.
    4. It’s compact and will easily fit in a bag to take out as a game for children at a restaurant.
    5. I love playing it as an adult and might be fun as a quick easy pub game. We laughed a lot while playing too.
    6. It’s fast (like a game of snap) and addictive. You’ll want to play more than once.
    7. Every player can play at the same time, no waiting for your next turn. Keeps it engaging and fun. (Yes, you can always play every card, it’s just a case of being fast enough to spot the match)
    8. If you lose a card, you can still play. The game does not rely on all cards supplied, in fact you could put two packs together too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFun game for all ages!
My daughters are three years different in age and it can sometimes be hard to find a game they can both enjoy… Dobble was just that, they have had hours of fun playing this game together (and with us parents). The concept of the game is easy to grasp and initially you’d think it is easy to win but the different sized images add an element of difficulty that everyone seems to be tackling.
It’s fun, easy yet challenging (if that makes any sense), can be quick if you want it to be, compact (so you can travel with it) and doesn’t make a mess. We love Dobble and are going to get the beach version for the summer.
This is the second pack I’ve bought… it’s a gift for my niece and nephew as we enjoyed it so much I thought they would too.

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersAbsolutely love the game.
Quick and easy to play with any number of people and suits a good range of ages. It’s a nice neat little game which doesn’t take up too much room when storing it and does not need much room to play which is really nice compared to some board games.

Golden Review Award: 51 From Our UsersAt first sight this game doesn’t come across as that amazing. Once you play it a little though, you soon realise its addictive and frantic nature. My kids (8&6) love it and play it for hours. As with most games that are brilliant, its stupidly simple and you’ll be kicking yourself for not thinking of it yourself.

Hours of fun and the tin make it a great travel game too.

Love it, and will be back for some of the other variants

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA great game, easy to play and the cards and tin are nicely designed. Perfect for all ages, very popular with the kids I babysit (8 and 11) and it proved to be just as good fun with my family and friends. I can see it being a really good game for children’s observation and coordination skills, but regardless of that, it’s just such good fun!

Fabulous game – I play this with my 5 year old daughter (you don’t need the kids set). It was a nightly occurrence over the summer holidays when away. The good thing is, you don;t have to ‘let’ them win either, as kids can be equal or better than parents! Would highly recommend as a quick and easy game / time waster on trips and hols and Christmas and weekends!

Golden Review Award: 50 From Our UsersAfter trying the adult version with my 3 year old granddaughter, I decided to buy the kids version. We have had hours of fun with this simpler game, but she still enjoys the adult game when we visit auntie.
On balance I think I would just buy the adult version, it is a slower game and I have to pretend not to have seen the match so she wins (I’m not competitive, she is), but it develops her observation skills and we have fun.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOn my advice after reading the reviews, Grandma bought this for our 5 year old twins for Christmas. They were intrigued when they opened it as they didn’t know what it was, but once we read the rules and started playing they were hooked. There are different games which can be played, so it is not a “one-trick pony” type of gift, and we found that the odds were quite evenly matched between kids, parents and grandparents when we played. Sometimes the little people would spot the match first, and sometimes they could not see it for looking! It’s a very clever concept and we really enjoy playing it. It is also a small sized game which is very portable. We will definitely be taking it on our family holiday this year!

This was bought as a present for one of our daughters for Christmas and has been a big hit with the whole family. The game is easy to play and there are a number of different variations to keep interest. Everyone was able to play it and even our four year old seemed to enjoy it. Well worth the price. Cards are in a tin for easy storage and I can see this game being taken away on holidays with us as it’s small and easy to transport. Definitely worth buying!

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersWe received this for Christmas and have had hilarious adventures with adults and kids in cafs, pubs, trains and around many kitchen tables. It has never failed to make us laugh and each of the five games seems to be easier for different players so everyone gets chance to win. We love it and it’s now a staple in my bag at all times because it’s so portable and a refreshing change from a screen!

I played this game last Christmas and immediately purchased it the next day for myself!

The aspect of the game is that every card in the deck has at least one symbol/picture that matches to one another (believe it or not!). There are 5 mini games you can play such as: The Towering Inferno, The Well, The Hot Potato, Gotta Catch Them All and the Poisoned Gift. Each mini game has the same objective of matching cards but can be different in many ways depending on the amount of players and how fast you can match your card to theirs.

There are many times when you are playing that you are so sure that there are no matching symbols on your card! But there is always one symbol/picture that matches!

Give this game a try as it’s great for get together, parties, Christmas and many other occasions.

Bought a few of these as gifts for friends with kids after I’d picked up a set in the US and played at home with the missus. It is HUGE fun as identifying similar pictures is devilishly difficult given the similar pictures will be of different sizes and orientation, in addition to the mental challenge of remembering what on earth the item is called. A fabulous mental workout, we’re both addicted to it at home. All of my friends reported back that their kids (who range from 6 to 11) had hugely enjoyed the game and so (to their surprise) had they. Both entertaining and hugely addictive, this is the best value for money I’ve had in years.

A fun game with various playing styles (booklet describes them well). Comes in a nice storage tin which is great as cards always end up a bit ‘dog eared’ after time so the tin will keep them in good condition for much longer. The actual cards are of good quality too and are coated so can be wiped if you spill anything on them. We love that you can play for as long as you like (or just 10 mins if short on time). Kids, teens, adults and grandparents all enjoyed playing this.

There are 5 different games to play, but most are based on matching the symbols on the cards as quick as you can.

Fantastic family fun! Great game for all ages. Fast pace memory snap. Can you match one of the symbols from your card before the other ayers. Sounds easy but each card the sizes of the pictures changes and only one of your pictures will match.
Comes in a great little tin so perfect for travel and camping and the instructions offer you numerous different ways to play, however, for us we have thoroughly love the snap/match version. This has been loved by adults and children of various ages, it is so addictive.
    Can highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersThis is such a brilliantly simple game, stored in its own little tin so you can take it anywhere. The thing we like about it as a family is that we can all play (ages ranging from 8 to 47) and age doesn’t seem to be an advantage, in fact quite the opposite! I think bright agile young minds find it easier sometimes to spot the matching symbols. The object of all the games with Dobble is to match a symbol on two cards; there will always be a matching symbol on each pair of cards, although sometimes the sizes will differ which seems to make it incredibly difficult to spot them, especially under pressure when you are trying to spot it before someone else! There is the added pressure of having to name the item you have identified as a match (for example the purple hand shaped thing on the tin with one eye is a ‘Dobble’) before you can swipe the card (or get rid of the card, depending on which game you are playing). The game is fast paced, and always results in lots of hilarity and frustration. It is the best card game for families that we have come across. Thoroughly recommended.

Provided hours of entertainment for entire family aged from 12 – 48. Its unusual to find a game that genuinely entertains such a wide age group and would easily appeal to younger kids in the same way ( played with nieces aged 6 & 9 who also loved it) Because it is a visual recognition game, it allows an even playing field when playing with different age groups and takes minutes to understand. We have laughed so much playing Dobble, and comes in a small tin so perfect to take on holiday etc I recommend it 100%

Golden Review Award: 98 From Our UsersSuch an amazing game! So addictive to play. Great game for all the family , very competitive. Really easy and lots of fun, if a bit frustrating when you can’t see a match! Children and adults can play together and there are a few different versions of the game. This looks like a children’s game, and I suppose it is. But play this with a load of adults and its even better! Very simple, match the pictures and put down a card. Get rid of all of yours to win. But you’ll quickly find it’s not as easy as it sounds and you’ll get more and more frustrated each round you play.

The premise is simple: find a matching image on another of the cards. They are the same colour and design but they may vary in size and their position on the card. Once you have found it you yell it out and place your card on the middle pile. Then everyone starts looking for a matching picture from their pile that matches a picture on the card in the middle. It is fast paced and funny and loads of fun. It is actually trickier than you think to match the pictures because sometimes you can’t see it at all. But every card has one matching picture with every other card. There are variations on the rules you can play with hot potato being a favourite. Dobble now goes everywhere. Holidays, sleepovers days out and its a small package so easy to fit anywhere. Excellent game for all ages.

    Excellent game

Dobble is a great game for children and adults alike. I would say it can be a bit difficult to play together with children as the game relies on speed, but once the kids get the hang of it there’s no reason why they can’t be as fast. We played all the different varieties in the tin and got hopelessly addicted to it. We now take it with us most places as it’s so easy to carry around, and so easy to explain to others. There’s little skill involved other than a good eye and quick reflexes.

It was a brilliant stocking filler and a great little gift for pretty much anybody.

This is a great game that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults. It has 55 cards each with 8 colour picture symbols, only one of which is common with any other card. There are 5 mini-games that each involve being the first to match symbols. The kids love it and it’s amazing how quickly they become adept at seeing and matching and beating the adults. It can be quick and competitive. The games are not long 5-10 mins each and the game can be brought and played anywhere. Great for taking when travelling.

Really fun game to play and several different ways to play. Fun for adults and kids alike.

Love the round cards, well printed with excellent symbols and pictures and the tin is brilliant for holding them.

… So why aren’t they laminated, to stop them from creasing and tearing, or to offer protection from wear and from spills.

Come on, greedy manufacturer, a bit of quality would be a game-changer. I see there are other card games from the same company, but I’m not buying.

I think this game is so fun and you can play it in more than one way which makes it really appealing. I wish the cards were a bit sturdier, but no damage has come to them so far. I like that it is quite relaxed in its nature. My family called it ‘basically snap then?’ , but it is more than that.
I can’t say that it appeals to everyone, my family bored of it, but my friends and I really enjoyed it. It’s a fast paced loud game, to be played by enthusiastic participants.

This can be played by all ages and in fact the kids may well run rings around you. We first bought it when our twins were 4 and they loved playing this and beating us and their grandma frequently.
Sometimes, you would swear that there is not a match and then finally you see it. Just shows that the brain is a complex thing.

The simple idea is that you match the symbol on one card to another. Simple enough concept but surprisingly frustrating at times when several people looking for the same thing at speed. Hugely enjoyable though.
We played with our 12 year old who to be honest was better at it than me. Would also appeal to younger children as easy to play.

Have bought these as gifts for numerous children aged upwards and whenever we take it on holiday it is a hit with other kids. Good fun game that’s easy to play and gets them thinking. I do give my 6 year old extra time to find the matching one but we’ve devised a new version (if his mind is awake enough) that as soon as I spot the matching one (if he hasn’t already yet) then I start a count down from 3, 2, 1 and then if he hasn’t got it I win the pair. It’s a great game that never get’s boring.

A simple concept but addictive – and instructions for 5 variations inside which my sons love to play ALL of (never seem to play two games the same in a row!). My younger son is 7 and does get frustrated sometimes at being slower to find matches but it’s really good for him and he enjoys it. I see there is a kids version but I wouldn’t bother unless you’re wanting to play with children a few years younger than that.
The metal tin is a great touch and means we keep it in our daughter’s changing bag to bring out when waiting for food at restaurants! A great travel game for taking on holiday due to its size and tin.

Golden Review Award: 173 From Our UsersWe’ve love board games and pen and paper games in our house and have been playing Dobble for over two years now.

    We love it!

It’s dead easy to pick up in one minute flat – It’s a quick game and won’t bore you to death 3 hours later – it’s small and portable and perfect for travel and literally anybody can play it!

    What is it?

It comes in a round tin which fits in your hand and contains 55 round cards. The cards are very good quality and have nice clear images on them. There’s an instruction booklet which has all you need to know about the five games. All dead easy! But great fun.

    How do you play it?

There’s 5 different ways to play this – but they all work the same! The game has 50 pictures to choose from. On each card there are 8 pictures out of the 50 – these pictures feature on all the cards but are different sizes and may be upside down – on it’s side. You need to be the first to spot a picture on a card that matches a picture on your your card.

It sounds easy – and it is but. . .under pressure against your 6 years old with perfect eyesight and the reactions of a cobra – it’s harder than you might think! Quite funny too at times!

I’ve uploaded a few pics of two cards – see if you can spot the matching pics!

One of our favourite games – highly recommended.

This game is such good fun and can be played in family groups, just children or just adults. In fact the most fun we’ve had with it is when we’ve played it in adult groups – all gloves are off and everyone goes for it, I get quite competitive and involved! It’s just so simple to play so after one round of a game everyone knows what they are doing and gets stuck in.

There are 5 different ways to play but we always play with everyone starting with a set of cards and the winner is the first one to get rid of all their cards.

A great gift and a great game to have for any gathering of family or friends of all ages.

Things get rowdy in our house when this game is played, and we’ve not even played all of the variations.

It’s a game that is quite easy to say “just once more!” and keep going for ages. I’ve seen fairly young players play this quite well — sometimes better than adults — and all ages enjoy it, so it’s really a family game that I highly recommend. We have some games that I dread playing, but this one is great.

I’ve given it as a gift several times since we got it — it’s that much fun, we want to share the laughter & chaos.

We bought this game for our 8 yr old son and another child for Christmas and when the package arrived, I was initially slightly disappointed as it is a small tin in a box and did not look to have much substance at first glance.

Upon playing the first game however we are now all hooked. It is really quick to pick up, addictive and the cause of significant competition between certain members of the family!!

Basically, the aim of the game is to win as many matched cards as you can. Each player starts with a card each and the remainder are in a pile in the centre. All cards have 8 pictures on them but only 1 picture on every card will match 1 on any other card (very clever). Therefore, once the first card is turned over you have to quickly identified which of your images matches the central card before your competitor recognises their own. The quickest to shout out claims the card.

Each game only takes about 5-10 min and can get a bit frenzied, so a great filler and something that all ages can enjoy. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes board/card games.

I got this for my 6 year old for Christmas and wasn’t quite sure whether he was old enough for it. The game is little overpackaged and the tin with cards is only about three inches across and one high and the tin comes in a box far oversized for the contents.

The game itself is simplicity itself and there are a number of mini games you can play around the theme of spotting the symbols that are the same. It is also one of those games where age is not always a benefit as my kids can be really eagle eyed. Some of the games can take seconds (hot potato) others five minutes and you can just stop when you want. Enough for a bit of excitement, some fun family time and small enough to put in your pocket for train journeys, waiting around etc… Really recommend giving this a go and you won’t be disappointed.

  99. JosephineHarles says:

The concept is very simple. The tin contains a pack of cards, each with a different set of symbols. There are numerous games to play, but each is a different variation on the main theme. The games are fast paced, you have to learn a method to quickly spot two matching symbols between two cards. Some of the games allow strategy to come into play so that you can ‘target’ particular players. Who is winning? – Gang up and target them to cut their lead! Simple but innovative and great fun. Particularly good for including the kids on a level playing field with the adults.

Every year I buy a family game to put under the tree at Christmas. This year was a bit tricky as my daughters are now 12 and 14 – not an easy age to entertain equally! Dobble was so much fun! We’ve played all the versions of the game and slammed the cards so much they’re already getting a little battered! Their cousins who are 10 and 11 loved it so much that they want to get their own pack. It’s a really simple concept but great fun. The more people you have playing the more exciting it is. At one point on Christmas day we had kids, parents and grandparents together all on their knees on the floor shouting out the symbols – some were unable to shout out because they were laughing so hard. We also played a slowed down version for my 6 year old niece. I can see this handy little tin of cards coming with us wherever we go in the future. I recommend it for everyone – it’d be a good dinner party ice breaker game too! Quote from my 14 year old just now: “oh are you doing a review for Dobble? Put in the review that it’s sooooo good and great fun for all ages!”. So there are you. Teenage stamp of approval.
