Good suction , nice handy gadget . Its best to buy second filter so you can rinse them out regularly to maintain good suction. Could be even better if it had a more pointy tool then you could use it on small items e.g.. cleaning keyboards. Battery life satisfactory so far but not had it long .

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersPerfect for cleaning the car, it has really good suction, a long hose and useful attachments. Only downside is the battery life (about 10mins) and it takes hours to charge. Having said that i would recommend this hand vac.

    Great For The Ca

Like: nice easy-to use item. Emptying is easy and straightforward.

I’ve used it for fairly heavy jobs like picking up lots of dog hairs, cleaning out the car (rural!) etc. and its been OK.

The only thing I dislike, no, two things. Firstly the “on/off” switch is a bit stiff, you cannot switch the machine on with one hand (I can’t anyway); also the brush/suction attachment broke very easily and I’ve had to order a replacement.

Other than that a good durable device which does what it says on the tin.

    Would I buy again?? Probably……….

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersNice mini vac, good for cat hairs. I actually bought this last year and it stopped working just before I’d had it a year. Amazon sent me a replacement no questions asked.

The only complaint is that it’s a bit too noisy

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersBought this item for my driving school car. For convieance and avoiding having to bring the house hover into the driveway with an extension cable especially coming into winter.

Very dubious about which vaccume to buy as I didn’t want to spend “Dyson” level of money and didn’t want to go down the single hand vacuume.

So the battery last about 20/25 minutes. First time I used this hadn’t cleaned the car in about three weeks, so lots of ground in dirt, stones, crumbs from the occasional sandwhich while working.
Wasn’t expecting to lift alot of the ground in items but was very surprised how much it did pick up. Didn’t get everything but way more than I thought given the condition and time since the last hoovering, didn’t get the car cleaned in one go went through two charges, but again due to volume of what was there.

I’ve changed my cleaning routine so give it a quick hover at the end of the day, taking less than 5 mins and can almost clean the car for the full week on one charge.

This won’t give you heavy duty cleaning but very good for this level of use. If you are looking for the once every couple of months car clean might not be for you.
Never used it in the house again regular cleaning would be serviceable for a quick once over but you would be emptying the hover a lot and probably not have a full house clean in a single charge.

Have been using it for three months now. This is a superb product. It’s the kind of product that makes you think why all other portable vacuum cleaners shouldn’t be like this. Here are my views:
    Pros:
    – The trunk makes life so easy. Can reach everywhere with precision.
    – Good suction, does the job.
    – The length of trunk allows you to easily reach corners and tight spaces that you normally cannot.
    – Easy on your back, as a result as you can reach more without bending too much.
    – Perfect for cleaning staircases. Previously had to drag a Henry up the stairs, holding the base with one hand, holding the trunk with the other, doing some acrobatics in between not to fall just to get the stairs clean; not to mention the cable running all over, things getting twisted up and all that. Now with this, it’s basically walk in the park; too easy. The brush is perfect for this.

    Cons
    – There are two attachments, one long and one short with a brush. Both very useful, but only one spot is provided on the base for storage. It makes sense for there to be two. So that they can both be stored on the device in a nice and tidy way. Not a big deal, but nice to have.
-Screeching loud noise, but would rather have a good suction than a quieter one. So it’s ok.

My take on this is, if your expectations are realistic about what performance you are going to get out of a portable wireless hoover at this price point then you will be very happy. If you are expecting dyson or Henry power then that’s obviously unrealistic. Hoovered my car, sofas, baby play areas, mosquitos (lol) perfectly. The design is very good and ergonomic. It’s made hoovering fun actually and easier then getting the dyson out for small tasks. Very happy.

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersI was surprised by just how small this is. It’s very compact and I like how well it all clips together in a neat little bundle for charging and storing.

It’s small, so I’m not expecting massive amounts of suction. But it’s pretty reasonable in my opinion. I bought this primarily for cleaning my car’s interior which collects a lot of soil and grit — and whilst it wasn’t spotless, it did a great job. The fact that it’s got a flexible hose and different nozzle attachments helps a lot too. I also use for little jobs in the house, including the stairs, which are usually a bit tedious to do with my usual upright vacuum.

It was the cheapest vacuum, but it was no where near the most expensive either. I’m sure the Dyson is super-powerful, but it’s a bit bigger and more than three times the price. So I’m satisfied on the value for money grounds.

My 5yo son was fascinated with this vacuum and he can easily carry it — so added benefit here is that it allows children to assist with the household chores!!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI absolutely love this hoover! It is obviously not as powerful as a more expensive or upright hoover product but for the money almost indispensable for me. The design with the extending hose means it is much more versatile than others and so light!. It actually can be pulled along like an upright Henry type hoover. The brush part has enabled me to AT LAST to find an effective, quick and dust-free way to clean my wrought iron banisters. With the brush out it also dusts every surface, nook and cranny in the house. This time of year means that window sills are constantly littered with dead flies but this vacuum quickly sucks them all up; plus the odd spider or wood louse etc.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersBrilliant little hoover that is greeting pat hairs off the sofa! Good battery life, light weight and good suction. The only niggle is with the brush attachment, it’s floppy… ok if brushing in one direction gently, but if you changed direction it collapses, I don’t understand why it’s hinged??? Other than that good price, good suction it does what I need it to do that is remove dogs hairs from cushions, sofa, car! Using it daily, it’s also great in the kitchen for dry spills! Oh and the dog loves being hoovered by it! When he hears it or sees me luck it up, I have to hoover him then the furniture/spill

Great size. Perfect for leaving on a kitchen worktop. It’s easy to use and easy to empty. I like the nozzle with the brush that swivels in to place.

I would have liked a little bit more suction if I’m honest. It’s good for crumbs but struggles with fine dust.

A great, useful little vacuum cleaner. Very neat and handy for around the house and in the car. Only two small downsides so far – it’s noisy and the charging unit is quite flimsy so you have to check that the blue charging light is on; also the crevice nozzle falls off the charging unit. Otherwise, though, it’s great value and a very sturdy and powerful device to have around the house.

As we live full-time in our motor home we needed a battery powered vacuum that could actually perform AND survive being used almost every day, and Black & Decker have not disappointed. It’s surprisingly powerful for a handheld (loud!) and packs down very cleverly from a comfortably useable arrangement into a compact shape perfect for hiding in a space with limited storage. The filter clogs up quite quickly after around 4 or 5 uses (but then we do have a woodburner with spilt ash etc to clean around) but is easy to get at and knock clean which brings us back to full power right away. In fact we loved the old model so much we bought this (new and improved) one to replace it when it finally gave out after a good 4 years of abuse!

I’m so glad I bought this. I keep it upstairs to clear cat litter before it gets spread too far round the house, but it’s handy for the stairs too. Easy to charge, easy to use, really easy to empty. Doesn’t require cleaning after every use like the cheaper Hoover one I bought. Great suction too! If anything it’s slightly heavy, but much lighter than carrying the big dyson upstairs!

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersGood, beware of pipe blockages. Can’t detach pipe from vac, so bits of paper, cloth etc. can easily block it. Kink it pipe makes it impossible to see the blockage or clear it. I advise getting a cheap plastic flexible drain cleaning rod, about 2ft – 3ft long, to remove them.

Although this may be slightly in the loud side, this little vacuum cleaner is very practical and nimble for its purpose. It’s has great suction power and more than enough battery life for cleaning a car. The crevice tool is very handy for those hard to reach places. I haven’t tried any other vacuum cleaners, but based on the performance of this one, I would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersExceptionally light and small. Probably the best vacuum for cleaning the car. No issues with space when trying to vacuum the footwells unlike all other portable units; just place it on the seat and use the flexi hose. Suction is superb and the run time is about 10-12 mins; more than enough to do the entire car. 4 hours to recharge. Quality is superb. I can’t fault this vacuum. Perfect for the house too, I found that it’s brilliant for a deep pile shaggy rug in the lounge. It’s easy to empty and to remove the filter. Nozzle brush and crevice tool are very effective. 10/10!

I am very pleased with this small vacuum. I originally bought it to use on the car, but it as useful around the house. Great for hovering all small intricate areas , such as around desktop computers.
I have been able to use within the battery life and it is quick and easy to charge.
The only down side is that it is noisy….but this is outweighed by it’s positive attributes.

  20. Anonymous says:

This little vacuum cleaner is way better than I anticipated. Often theses battery operated ones just don’t seem to be powerful enough.

But I cleaned my car inside and I was impressed on its performance. My car mats and seats were completely clean after about 10-15 minutes of use and no signs of the cleaner running out of charge.

It’s easy to empty and clean, charges quite quickly and has an impressive amount of suction. The extendable nozzle is also really useful.

My criticism would be the charging stand that’s a little awkward to get in the right position for the connection, and the cleaner is quite noisy.

I would still easily recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery decent wee cordless, great for a bit of shelf dust busting or awkward corners. Good suction, get 2 filters and rotate them as they clog up pretty quick. You only get 10/15 minutes but for my purposes that’s all I need, big hoover does the donkey work, this wee one does the tight spots and quick cleans.

Bought for my partner. She’s seems very happy with it. Especially that you can see the bits spinning around in it. I’ve used it a couple of times so far. Suction seemed perfectly reasonable for what it is. It isn’t small but at the same time having the length of hose is very handy. Can’t comment on reliability because we’ve only had it for a few weeks.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was going to go for the trusted Dyson brand/ option but this was by far a cheaper alternative and I have to say that it was a excellent decision to go for this than a Dyson. Essentially both would do the same job but having spoke to a friend who has a handheld Dyson, he said the battery life isn’t that great in it.

Having only had this for less than a month, the charge (I believe) when charged fully will give you around 20-30mins powerful vacuuming before the suction dies down. The suction is superb for a handheld vacuum.
The vacuum itself isn’t heavy at all and small enough to go round the hard to reach spaces in a car in which I primarily bought it for.
However it’s a bit on the loud side and the switch on button is a bit cumbersome, but the two negatives don’t outweigh the positives for me, and as such I wouldn’t hesitate in giving it five stars and singing it’s praises to anyone who would be interested in buying one.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI loved this for just over a year, but today when emptying it as usual, a tiny piece of plastic fell off the door hinge and now the door will not reattach. That tiny piece of plastic has cost me 85. I can only guess that the plastic is very brittle, now to decide whether I can afford to replace it.

This is exactly what I needed for work, so for that reason it gets 4 stars because it’s really saved me some time and hassle everyday. However my only complaints are that for 18v li-ion I would have expected it to be slightly more powerful and also if you don’t charge it regularly it quickly loses charge while not being used. As I say though as it’s the only cordless vacuum of this design with a proper hose it’s still very useful for me

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis machine deserves 6 stars! Although the first device sent was unusable due to a jammed switch, a replacement was quickly made and I am very pleased with it’s performance.
The suction seems as good as that of any large machine’s extension pipe and when used with 2 hands (machine in one hand and pipe in the other ) the pipe is flexible enough for getting in to confined spaces, e.g. car vacci-ing.
The docking plate is flat and an LED lights up to indicate whilst charging. More importantly, the charger cuts out when fully charged. This was a flaw with the previous model using older battery technology – mine died due to continuous charging.
Usage time is about 20 minutes but I have not put this to the test – no need.
Altogether a good little vac to use. I recommend.

Bought this mainly for cleaning out the car and I’m very happy with it. Saves getting the house vac and an extension cable out every time. There is plenty of suction and the flexible hose and crevice tool can get into all the places that would be awkward with a fixed nozzle vac. I’ve never run the battery down and it seems to recharge quite quickly on the base unit and turns itself off when full. Emptying it is also very easy. These seem to be available in several different voltages but the 18 volt version is enough for what I need.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIn my experience a brilliant little machine handy for those quick clean ups, especially useful in kitchen/ dining areas and also on the stairs and for reaching tight spots. Also as of yet it’s the best cordless/ portable solution that I’ve found for cleaning the car and is very useful for this as no need for running a lead outside which can be awkward- just grab it and away you go. Clever ergonomics gives great flexibility allowing you to easily suck up dust and dirt from under car seats etc. Overall brilliant suction for such a small machine, more than enough runtime for most small/ medium tasks with the added benefit of being able to charge as and when which doesn’t take too long.

As other reviewers have said, not the strongest suction in the world, but definitely good enough for all the little jobs about the house and the car. Light and convenient. All in all, worth the small effort of going over carpet hairy bits of car and few times, and things are definitely kept less dusty and more clean with this in the house as who can be bothered to get the big hoover out all the time? Others have noted the plasticy base, which is true, but still worth it for the price — better than cheaper handheld products.

This is a great cleaner. The removable hose is really intuative meaning that you can use it either one handed like a traditional dust buster, or you can detatch the hose and use it two handed to get into difficult places. The brush attachment it comes with is also really innovative.
Its very powerful suction and I did the whole car including boot without any issues so the battery life is good enough for what I wanted. Its really easy to empty the dust too.
I’m really happy with this purchase.

Only downside is the noise but I haven’t heard other similar ones so can’t really compare, but is quite loud. Good suction and easy neat storage, all in all happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersI’m absolutely blown away by how good this is – so much so that my mum asked me to order one for her as well. My view of dustbusters was a fairly low suction thing with a wide nozzle which would only run for a few minutes before needing to charge for hours on end. Not so this beast: it’s tackled everything I’ve thrown at it and I’m yet to run it flat.

I got this because I’ve got a cat who tracks his wooden cat litter from the kitchen into the living room, and to a lesser extent the rest of the house. The vac is great for getting that off the carpet and furniture, as well as doing a quick zoom around the kitchen to clear up anything he’s spilled in there. It’s also good for when you spot a cobweb on the ceiling and would ignore it if you had to get the Dyson out of the cupboard. I’ve used it for doing a quick clean up of dust/hair/fur on my small bathroom floor (lino) and it’s coped easily with that. The flip-out brush is useful for dusting furniture or a quick clean of my laptop and computer keyboards.

I mainly keep the wider attachment with the flip-out brush on it attached to the vac. It’s handy for quick clean ups. If you need to change a tool, they easily unclip. The crevice tool is fine – not much you can say about it. It’s comparable to the ones on a standard hoover. The ‘animal’ attachment, though, is absolutely brilliant. It makes cleaning fur off furniture a very easy task. It also works on rugs and curtains, without sucking the fabric into the hole. Now, instead of taking my living room curtain down to wash it (because the black cat pushes past it to go on the windowsil and it gets a big black streak of fur) I can quickly hold the curtain taut with one hand and the animal attachment removes everything within seconds. It’s really good.

The machine is fairly easy to empty once you get the hang of holding the door so it doesn’t flap about as you try to shake all the bits out. To clean the filter is also easy as you just press a button and twist the body of the unit to remove the motor and hold the grey plastic bit in your other hand. you open the filter compartment and the filter itself can be easily lifted out by a little metal handle, which folds flat against the top of it. I clean the filter every couple of times I use the machine as I notice there’s a drop in suction when that needs doing.

You clean the filter by removing it and then you can shake it into a bin or brush it with a stiff brush. If you’re worried about creating dust clouds in your bin as you do this, you can just use your normal vacuum cleaner to suck all the dust off. Apparently you can wash the filters periodically tp clean them but I’ve not yet done this because of how long it’ll take to dry. Replacement filters cost under 8 from what I’ve seen. Although the filter seems to be made of concertinaed cardboard, the original one I’m using is not showing any signs of wear or deterioration, even with brushing the dust out of it.

Some people have said that the machine is noisy when in use, but I don’t find it to be so and it doesn’t make the cat run away as he would if I got the proper hoover out. It sits neatly on the charging base provided and charges up within an hour or so after a 10 minute cleaning session. I’ve run it for half an hour and still not got it to go flat. To be honest, if I needed to clean constantly for that length of time I’d use the actual hoover instead. But this copes brilliantly with everything – I even took it up in the loft to clean up a load of dead wasps after we had a nest cleared.

Weight-wise, I do find the unit a little heavy to hold for too long, but with the flexi tube it’s not often that I have to as I hold that and have the base down on a solid surface. The hose then neatly coils round the unit to be stored.

I can’t recommend this highly enough – I find it invaluable and it’s a very powerful little vac with lots of good features. Hopefully it’ll last for a few years.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI own two extremely hairy dogs. They only need to brush against you and you’re all but covered in hair.
Cleaning my car has become a terrible problem and only after a few days it feels like i’m driving in some kind of disgusting dog’s nest.
In the past I had paid someone to clean the car, (as well as use my own vacuum when it was possible).
I now live on a main road where I am unable to park the car any where near the house, thus eliminating the option of using my own vacuum.
The vacuums in the petrol stations are ok, but they can really add up when you have a filthy car. I’m loathe to pay someone to clean it as they always charge a surcharge because it was so hairy.
Did a lot of research and bought this vacuum. After its initial charge (which didn’t take that long as it seemed to already have some charge in it) I gave it a road test.
Oh my goodness is it normal to love a vacuum cleaner?!!! I seriously love this thing.
The suction is just as good as my house vacuum (a rather old miele). On one charge I managed to do the entire front of the car, (including the 2 front mats), the back of the front seats, most of the back seats and most of the parcel shelf. Just the floor and back mats to do which I will do after it has finished charging. I really didn’t think it would manage the mats but it cleaned them better and faster than I would have managed with the main vacuum. Considering it was so hairy I am seriously impressed with this little thing. The rubber pet attachment is brilliant and really makes quick work of getting rid of stubborn pet hair.
I will also use this for my sofa, saving me a fortune in lint roller paper too im sure!
I will no longer need to feel embarrassed about giving someone a lift in the car, or have to fork out a fortune for someone else to clean it. So so happy with this.

It picks up stuff, seems to tolerate being quite full with out losing suction. I like the fact it comes apart to thoroughly wash out the compartment and filter.

We really love this little gem of a cordless cleaner. The suction is very efficient for this type of cleaner and it holds its charge for a long time, enough to clean the stairs and tiled floors in kitchen, bathroom, etc, and a good clean of the car. We just cannot fault this Black and Decker and although on the expensive side compared to others we are sure we have not wasted our money. Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI really love this little appliance as it has made the chore of cleaning so much easier. I have been very unwell this year and the housework had to wait but this got me down seeing the dust etc building up. I saw and advert for the Gtech Multi and knew this type of appliance would really help but it was too expensive. After looking around I came across the Dustbuster which is still a lot of money but a lot less than the Gtech.

The actual vacuum itself is really neat and fits nicely in the back corner of one of my kitchen worktops. Its style reminds me of an old fashioned telephone. The two tools extend the hose and help to get into different places. Its made a huge difference to my life because I can now do the cleaning a little bit at a time as and when I feel up to it. Its got very powerful suction which isn’t much less than our main upright vacuum. It has a large dirt collection area and the filter is really easy to remove and clean. If you notice the suction is dropping its a sure sign the filter is clogged and needs cleaning out. I just knock mine out every couple of uses and then actually wash the filter every now and again. It lasts a long time – I’ve never used it for more than 15 minutes in one go and its still running normally at that point. Its easy to charge, you just put it back on its base and a flashing blue light shows it is charging. I mostly use the cleaner with the brush attachment which is particularly great for dusting. I’ve used the Dustbuster in every room of the house on all sorts of surfaces with great results.

The only downside to it is that for most uses you really need to use both hands, one hand holding the hose and the other the vacuum itself. You can use it with the hose attached onto the vacuum put this only works for items right in front of the vacuum in a clear area. Having to use both hands is only really annoying when you need to move something, particularly if you are dusting but its not a big problem. If I need to put the vacuum down because I need one hand to move an item I have learnt to be careful where I put it down. I put it on a window sill once and as I moved the hose of course the vacuum moved as well and I only just caught it as it went tumbling over the side of the sill! The motor is quite noisy especially if you are reaching up to do high things like light fittings so the vacuum is right next to your ear.

Overall great product and its really made life easier for me. That alone is worth a lot of money and I would happily buy this product again and would highly recommend it.

Very happy with this for usage in minor spills of seeds and general debris. l have very long hair and it is efficient in picking this up as there are no brushes for it to wind around. Sounds as if it means ‘business’ on start up not the usual whine of smaller machines. Could do with a wide mouthed tool attachment to made it that bit more versatile hence the 4 stars.

Brilliant product, powerful, battery lasts well, amazing value for money and the hose makes it really easy to use in corners and out of the way places eg back of the car that Dyson products can’t get into. Anytime there is a need to pick up bits and pieces in small area, we grab this beauty and clean it up way before I have plugged in the Dyson vacuum cleaner. It picks up more things than the Dyson floor head (especially as you cant use the rotating brush on loop pile carpets without causing damage to the pile – Dyson don’t tell you that in their product literature by the way, that machine ruined my carpets and Dyson took no interest in my explanations).

Handy little battery operated vacuum cleaner, ideal for car / stair edges / furniture. Charges quickly via the base plate to give around 20 min of cleaning time before the battery fully discharges. Battery status is indicated by a blue LED on the side of the unit. Decent suction, and dirt is collected in the central plastic container, which is easy to open to empty and clip closed again. The central housing twists to remove the filter for replacing or cleaning (buy a spare so that you always have one clean and dry while the other is in for washing).
The supplied crevice tool works well, and you can either use the cleaner configured as in the picture, or unclip the hose from around the cleaner to give more range – the unit sits neatly on your car seat while cleaning, or is light enough to hold in use. Unfortunately the other nozzle supplied (with folding brush) is not very good at all, and I have quickly replaced it with a generic 32mm round brush head (a fiver here on Amazon) that works much better.
So in summary, a great little vacuum but the tools could be better.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’m finding this vacuum useful for jobs such as cleaning the car where starting to faff around with extension leads etc can make things more complicated than they need to be. Moving on to the vacuum itself, in use the suction is reasonably good, but I wouldn’t call it impressive — rated at 1700 watts I was expecting it to lift anything that wasn’t nailed to the floor; in reality it has nowhere near the suction power of a mains powered vacuum. The supplied tools seem up to the job, however, as another reviewer mentioned the ‘bristles’ on the flip out brush won’t stand up to extended use as several are deformed and facing the wrong way after only a few uses. I haven’t timed the endurance from first switching on until the battery is exhausted, but it has been more than good enough to cover a mucky car interior with lots of dog hairs thrown in without any sign that the battery was running down. One thing to note is that it’s very noisy, so e.g. starting on the car at 8am on a Saturday morning may leave you in the doghouse with the neighbours. Lastly, the price — I got this model for 70; I have noticed the price bouncing around, sometimes as high as 129. I’d suggest that 70 is a reasonable asking price; I wouldn’t be prepared to pay much more for an item which is adequate, but not particularly special.

It’s used often and picks up dust for fun, superb product which is easily transportable for use in the car.
The only reason why it doesn’t get 5* is because the charger is rather flimsy and broke easily so we had to contact B&D and get a new charger for this which probably costs 20p to make yet we were charged 26

Ideal for small jobs, Has enough charge to clean a car and that’s its main purpose for me. I also use it to clean up after DIY jobs. We also have a high powered vacuum, but the bags literally explode when sucking up fine dust from sanding. This vacuum has no such problems and the filter is easy to take out and clean, ready for the next job.
My all means, you can’t compare the power from a portable to a mains powered vacuum as my wife does, but for me, it does a great job.
I’ve been using it for a year now without any problems.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove this vacuum, small, powerful and very handy. I use it mainly for cleaning the car, so it needs great suction power, which soooo many handheld cleaners are lacking and excellent flexibility. I was looking at the dyson animal, but it so overpriced, and to be honest this vacuum is not far off in power terms and at a fraction of the price. It is so handy and compact it sits on its charging stand, you can just leave it there as it switch off charging when fully powered up, and is used around the house when the larger vacuum is not really needed. The charge lasts so long I have never run out of charge whilst using consistently for 40 minutes.

Did wonder about buying this as not cheap and would it do the job. So glad I did as haven’t stopped using it since arrived! Great for carrying round the house doing all the corners, easy to do stairs as I struggle to carry the large vacuum. Have a conservatory and lots of dead insects at this time of year, quick whizz with this in a morning and sorted. Have cleaned inside drawers and cupboards and great for car too. Sits nicely on the base for charging and doesn’t take up much room. Would definitely recommend.

    Great hand-held vacuum.

Good for hovering the car out, or picking up small areas of dirt. Lasts a fair amount of time, but could last longer.

Adequate suction provided the dust/dirt is not ground in.

Overall this is easy to use, easy to clean and picks up most of the dust/dirt in the car which I clean it with.

I have found the suction on this little vac quite powerful for its size and, in my opinion, the flexible hose makes it much more versatile than the all-in-one fixed type of hand vac enabling easy access to narrow spaces whether in the car or in the house. It sits neatly on the recharging base and is instantly available for use to pick up any crumbs or pet fur, so much easier than getting out the larger floor vac. Thoroughly recommended and well worth the five stars.

Well, I often become convinced that I MUST have something because it will make my life complete. That was the case with the B&D flexi vaccuum and, while I wouldn’t say my life was complete, it is much better in some aspects! I have back problems which mean that I can’t use our cylinder vac and rely on others to do so. Now I can just use this little beauty (in a sci-fi kind of way) to vac up the offending mess, often cat hair. The vac is light enough to use one-handed and suction is great. It’s easy to empty too. I’m very happy with my purchase so far and best of all I’ve found that my son will just pick it up and vac up odd bits without being asked!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBest item I have bought in years! This is amazing and well work the money. Lightweight to use and very powerful suction. The storage of the hose is great as it does not get in your road when you only have a small job to do yet it is easily released when needed. The charging plate is a design as it is surface mounted and there is no fighting with wall mounts which are always unreliable to get the vacuum attached.

Would definiately recommend this item – does a great job with hoovering the car as well.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersWell It took me ages to take the plunge on buying another cordless vacuum, after my last disastrous purchase of a Bosch Cordless vac, that’s basically rubbish.I read lots and lots of reviews, had this in my basket for about a month before purchasing after reading a couple of conflicting comments.I will first start with the build quality,so far,i have not found a single issue with the build quality, nothing feels frail, the catches are robust, the way it empties is easy, its very easy to strip filter out to wash 10/10 B&D. My hobby is messy,i create mess every where, drop shavings and leaf muclh on the carpet, fish food etc, sand etc, this wonderful vacuum enables me to effortlessly clean this up instantly & easily, where as before it would be left as its a bind to go down stairs late at night & get the big dyson out & fight with its stupidly short hose! This is a dream machine for little clean ups & bigger spills like dropping a pot plant. The vacuum suction is superb,i cannot fault this for a cordless. With smaller clean ups etc you generally use the vac for 15 – 30 seconds, based on this and my intermittent usage including 1 quick car clean, this has lasted me 10 Days already and its still going strong.Obviously if you were to completely Vacuum the stairs top to bottom everyday it wouldnt last 10 days! Its surpassed my expectations on this.I also like to vac my electronic goodies to keep the dust out of them, like laptop, camera, lenses etc – this is my only gripe I really wish Black & Decker would make a round brush attachment! I love this machine, its saved me so much hassle,it makes my life easier by enabling me to be tidy as I go rather than be left with a huge cleanup.

Versatile vacuum cleaner, fairly light weight and good for using in the car or around the house for smaller jobs. However, suction not especially strong (but from reviews of this and other vacuums, I would guess it is as strong if not stronger than similar portable systems). Just do not think that this will replace a full size vacuum around the house.

Arrived ahead of stated delivery time. Quite pleased with quality. Although base charging unit isn’t so well made as it’s very light and feels like it could be less durable over time in prolonged use. Holds sufficient charge to do the jobs it purchased for, i.e. car vacuuming and small jobs around the home. Overall, a good product at a reasonable price.

Great little vacuum. Obviously you’re not expecting full-sized suction levels, but it has a good amount of power. Certainly good enough for the car, running round the edges of the kitchen etc.

Build quality is great, and the battery life is perfectly acceptable. If I was going to pick something to gripe about, the base it sits on for charging is a bit flimsy, so when you pick the unit up, it tends to take the base with it.

Don’t buy a cheap hand-held vacuum cleaner, they’re a waste of money. This one is decent and does what it’s supposed to.

Very pleased with this little hoover, does everything I want it to, battery doesn’t last excessively long, long enough to dust around the house but not to hoover out the car all in one go, however only takes about 4 hours to charge so it’s possible to go back to the job in the same day. Really like the flexibility of the hose & the different nozzles, pet hair one works brilliantly on cat hair on the cushions! My mum had an AEG rapido with traditional batteries, it took FOREVER to charge & the extending nozzle kept collapsing back, very irritating, now she has one of these…..says it all!

It’s ok. I think we are getting so used to strong suction from the leading brands, and when I heard the noise this makes, I rather hoped for Dyson-like suction. Well, you don’t get that. It’s good for picking up bits and pieces, and it’s very helpful getting into the awkward gaps beside the car seats, but it doesn’t suck like a Dyson…. To be fair, it doesn’t cost what a Dyson costs either, so on balance I’m pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersMy trust in Black & Decker is fully justified. This little vacuum cleaner has powerful suction for its size and is ideal for getting into corners behind the TV, hoovering my settee throw without having to lift it off and shake it outside, my carpeted stairs, edges of rugs where crumbs etc end up, my fireplace which attracts dust, all the places where a larger hoover can’t get to and so easy to empty – just hold over a bin open hatch, empty, close hatch. And its discrete, I keep it behind a chair in the living room near the plug point out of sight but within reach. Very pleased and recommended.

A great and powerful cordless vacuum. Charges quickly and lasts easily enough for me on a per use basis. I have a big vacuum that I use weekly to do my whole house, however this is the perfect interim product, that I can use to keep things clean and tidy as I go along. Works okay on minor mess on carpet, however it truly shines when used on Laminate/Wood/Tile etc.

At it’s full RRP (~150 at the time of writing), it is heavily overpriced. You can buy a full blown corded vac for your entire house for less than that. I managed to pick this up on offer for around 65. At this price, it’s definitely worth it!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy wife wanted a small vacuum cleaner as one of her Christmas presents and after carrying out research which began with Dyson (dont we all research them and then try and justify the cost) and offering several bids on Ebay which went too high in my view (like nearly 300 for a small cleaner to vacuum pet hair) and after reading other reviews I bought the Black+Decker. My wife loves it as its powerful enough, goes about 20 to 25 minutes on a full charge, is well built without being too heavy, does not look out of place like its ‘untidy’ when in full view, is very compact, dare I say its a ‘good looking’ piece of kit. It’s also far cheaper than a Dyson and with a pug dog and six cats (long hair and short hair) it does a great job.

Recommended you purchase the 18v for best power.

Looks good and does it good. Readily cleaned out (often) and with the help of elastic bands the crevis tool can fit into a floor brush tube and this little cleaner can then give a quick run round the floors with enough power for light stuff. It can suck up anything with the normal fittings.
Charging is much better than previous models – the lithium batteries are voltage controlled and the charger turns off when full. The charger is cold when not charging so wastes very little when left switched on continuously.

Bought this as I have no driveway and needed something to clean the car. A great bit of kit – only reason not 5 stars is its’ taken me months to work out how to open the side to release and clean the filter. But then I’m a woman and I didn’t easily understand the directions on the device… Now I can do it and the machine is working beautifully again.

I also have a Miele and a GTech vacuum and as I live in a very small house, find the B&D perfect for the bits that the Tech doesn’t catch. My daughter is delighted with having acquired my Miele.. Highly recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersRecommended. Meets stated run time of 15mins, at a constant suction, reasonably powerful and great for doing edges. At 25 airwatts (suction) it fairs well to other handheld vacuums. The Dyson DC34 does have a boost mode, that has significantly more suction, but than runs the battery down much quicker.

It is lightweight (and smaller than it looks). Realistically you are likely to be using the hose in one hand and holding the vacuum in the other. As one person points out the exhaust is perhaps a little close what you are vacuuming when using it fixed with the hose wrapped, and to me the balance doesn’t seem right using it this way. I don’t find this an issue, the advantage of getting into tight spots wins my favour. I also like the flip down brush nozzle.

Easily emptied, the filter will need cleaning regularly, but this is very easy to remove, and tap out the dust. It is washable, and it cheapish to replace (found here on Amazon for 9). Unlike a Dyson the performance will depend on how clean that filter is (in a Dyson less dust/dirt gets to the filter due to “the cyclones”).

The detachable hose/nozzle makes this much better option (for me) than the Dyson, and I want the long running time. If I really need the boost power offered by the Dyson, I think it is time to get the main vacuum cleaner out.

A little annoyed the price has dropped by 25 only six days after I bought it – but that makes it a better bargain now!

The most expensive battery Vac I’ve ever bought and also the best by a clear mile. Not only could it suck a mars bar through a hose pipe, the versatile hose is perfect. The pet hair/soft furniture attachment works so perfectly its miraculous and the battery lasts for ages. I treat mine like a laptop, as it has lithium batteries, and let it run down before charging. I imagine leaving it the charger would lessen the life of the battery. It comes apart easily for cleaning and all the parts feel like quality items. It’s on a different level to anything else Iv’e used Honestly my best buy in years. – Update: December 2019 — 4 years old and still working perfectly well. I had intended this for cleaning the inside of my car but it has proved very flexible and is also used throughout the house, for those small jobs when you can’t be bothered to drag our the upright vacuum cleaner. The suction is strong and the battery lasts 15-20 minutes, plenty long enough for the car or other small household jobs. Plus, suction continues strongly right up to the battery draining completely. Recharging takes around 1-1.5 hrs.

The flexible hose makes life easy when getting into nooks and crannies, and there are two accessories, a standard head with a flip out upholstery brush and a long narrow crevice tool. Emptying it is quick and easy, as is extracting the filter when that needs cleaning. It’s been well used and is highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI find using the attachments on my main vacuum to be difficult to use and not particularly flexible. Therefore I was looking for a small and light vacuum for doing the stairs and those other areas that my main vacuum cant really reach and this is ideal. It is extremely light and also being cordless means it is quick to use – no more trying to find a spare plug socket (I never have enough!). In the picture it shows someone holding it with 1 finger and although I haven’t actually tried this myself it really is light. It comes with 3 attachments: one with a wide nozzle with a flip down brush which is a neat idea, a thinner nozzle for getting into small spaces and a pet hair remover. I have 2 cats and their hair gets everywhere. I used the vacuum on my stairs and it pulled the cat hair up really well. It took half the time to do the stairs than with my main vacuum due to not having to get it out, plug it in and then sort out the attachments. I also used this for cleaning out the car and it did a good job. I didn’t find the brush attachment particularly effective – It was actually easier without the brush.

This is small and doesn’t take much room in the cupboard and the charger base is easy to use with helpful holders for the attachments. This has made the job of vacuuming much easier!

    I would highly recommend this.

Perfect for quick clear-up of crumbs etc, reaching into shelves, tops of cupboards, and picture rails. Also good for light cleaning of stairs, but needs to be supplemented with occasional use of a more powerful standard vacuum. Quite noisy, but I don’t find that a problem. The flip-up brush is a bit flimsy, and the standard nozzle is a bit too narrow for cleaning a large area. Suction is better than I expected. Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOh, how I love this little wonder. I now have THREE vacuums but, no, I’m not Mrs Bouquet. My pull along, a George, a brilliant machine but -moaned my husband every time it came out (quite often) – very noisy. However, as I’m the one who actually does the housework, I was tempted by the cordless GTech, just as noisy, but more flexible and quicker to whizz around the house, cutting down on the length of noise time! But, of course, neither of them were flexible enough for me to vacuum the tops of my wardrobes. So the Black and Decker was ushered into the vacuum line-up! It’s also great, when spotting some dust, just to pick it up and, voila, dust gone, Its immediacy is great for just nipping out to the car, doing the job in minutes, finding that I could also utilise my dust brush/crevice tools from the George, which was very useful when cleaning the inside of the car. Although I read the reviews on how long it held its charge, for me, I was happy with how long it lasted, finishing before its charge expired. I don’t want to spend my whole life, anyway, with an extension of a vacuum at the end of my arm, and these little machines are perfect for cutting down on all of that – just get a move on! It’s up to you to remember to keep it charged so that you get the full running time. It comes well-packed and promptly. Now, I have more time to go back to the couch and pick up a bunch of grapes and a good book…….

It’s no Dyson but does the job.
Short flexible hose makes it a little more versatile than a bog standard dust buster. Easy to empty, filter lifts out – used a Dyson to suck that clean :).
A less clunky off/on switch would be an advantage, as would a docking station to charge it. Inserting the charging plug is a bit fiddly. Hence 4 stars!

Supplied promptly. Has very good suction and reasonably light. The hose is a very useful for getting into difficult to reach places. My only complaint is that the charging plate and the rest for the extension nozzle are for bench mounting only and cannot be wall mounted. A redesign of the charging plate and nozzle rest into a single wall mount cradle unit would be a tremendous improvement to this otherwise excellent product.

Having seen the demise of the once well respected Black and Decker brand over the last 20 years, especially their power tools, which used to be excellent, which are now pale Chinese imitations, this vac has been a pleasant surprise.

Having done some research, (I always do), we purchased this to clean up pet hair (cat malts like hell) as well as other odd jobs around the house where our trusty and powerful “henry” is too cumbersome and a pain in the arse to move around.

This vac is about 2/3 as powerful as a henry on standard mode, so its quite powerful considering its battery powered.
At last, a portable vac that’s comparable to a mains powered vacuum, you could probably get away with cleaning a betsit or small flat with this alone.

The attachments are good, one has a brush which clips over and back again, which is good for dusting and cobwebs, there is a thin attachment for corners etc, but the best one for our purposes is the pet hair removal tool.

This tool is made of rubber on one side, which moves the hair into the hole in the middle, but most importantly, it stops the vac from sucking up sofa throws, curtains etc, as it cannot get a proper grab to do so.

    Very impressive, well worth it.

pros: Very nice design .. extremely ergonomic. the extending flexable hose is so useful for cobwebs on the ceiling .. this little vacuum is perfect for cleaning the car … in fact with the different attachements its the easiest I’ve ever vacuumed in all the crevices and down the sides of the seats. This is not as powerful as a corded vacuum and therefore takes a little patience and extra time, but I have to say that once I got used to it … the convenience of the size and design of it does make up for the gentler suction. Also in some cases the gentler sucking action is a bonus .. for eg when cleaning shelves with models on . ie gentle delicate dusting . Mind you … with the brush folded back I cleaned dried mud off the kitchen floor and the end nozzle is tough enough to use as a scraper and then the loose dirt is sucked up. The little door that opens at the side to empty it is lovely . I mean honestly the person or team that worked on this really got it right. I’m also hoping that it will be good for sucking up spiders… oh i just realised … you know how sheds are scary with spiders in … you could take this with you for protection . bonus

I normally use a excellent Miele vacuum for everyday cleaning, but recently I’ve been suffering from back pain & had great trouble using the Miele due to its weight, especially on the stairs. I did consider buying a cordless vac like a Dyson but reviews seem pretty mixed. This seemed like a good compromise to use the Black & Decker upstairs & stick to my Miele downstairs.

I have to say i’m absolutely delighted with this B&D, it works great on the stairs & in the car. Very easy to set up, has all the attachments needed, easy to empty & clean the filter. Battery takes abound 4 hours to charge fully. Suction is surprisingly good & its so light & portable. It would certainly suit an elderly person who maybe has trouble carrying a heavy cleaner on the stairs. I really wish I got one sooner.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI actually thought I was going to be disappointed with this. I bought it mainly to try and get rid of pet hairs on the car seats and it failed to do that.
I was going to send it back until I realised that I had been using it every day to get the pet hairs of the furniture which it does very well. As we have a Husky, a Dalmation and several cats, that alone makes it worth the money.
It also proved useful when a bag of rice burst!
I don’t know why it doesn’t work in the car, perhaps it is the material the seats are made of. Anyway I would recommend this produc

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBest hoover I have ever owned. So small and efficient. How could I ever lived without it??
100% recommend to anyone looking for a small, handheld hoover. The charge last good 25-30mins, enough for me to go around the entire house and clean up cobwebs and small debris brought in by the family & pets during a week.
The pet adaptor is great – I also use it on the main hoover and it gets rid of all pet hair – we have 3 cats so found it very useful!
It does not overcharge so once you’re done with it, just pop it back in and it’s ready for your next clean. My relatives seen it last week and now want one too!
Cannot recommend it enough to anyone needing a small hoover. Forget those cheap, 15-20 models that have no suction power – better to spend a bit more and end up with a hoover that actually works!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a lovely, powerful little fancy dustbuster. It charges quickly and lasts about 15 minutes or so in use. The pet head is very effective for furniture, rugs and stairs. The brush is very good for hard floor edges. It’s light to handle. The only real quibble I have is that I have to stoop to clean at floor level. It would have been nice to have a longer nozzle for reaching down, or up, for that matter. I recommend the product.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI did a fair amount of research before buying this. My wife wanted a “dust-buster”, but it seemed to me that most of them on the market seem to have little suction and low battery life. We have a Dyson as our main vacuum cleaner, so wasn’t expecting this to be anything like that in terms of suction power. For a wireless vacuum, I would say this is great. It’s no Dyson, but neither does it cost what a Dyson does. It does a great job of picking up small things, which is after all, what it is for. I can’t say I have used it for any considerable time (i.e. for cleaning the car, etc), but I did find myself cleaning the stairs and other parts of the floor with it – the battery didn’t die on me and hasn’t done so yet. It comes with a neat base to put it on which you plug the charging cable into. You then simply pick it up to clean, then place it back to charge when finished. It is easy to empty and comes apart well to wash when necessary. The fact that you can detach the head/hose from the base while cleaning is a real upside as it makes it a lot more flexible in terms of cleaning different areas. Ideal if you are like me and have two small children who create a never ending wake of mess, but you would rather not deploy the usual (large) vacuum cleaner after them every time.

Golden Review Award: 97 From Our UsersWe both gave this lovely little portable cleaner 4 stars, without being certain why it didn’t get 5 ! It works very well, the battery life is as claimed and it is far, far better value than the Dyson which made our wrists ache after no more than a few moments.
OK then, the “less than perfect” points which lost the fifth star may be that the brush attachment is useless (doesn’t really matter, but it is!) and the filter needs regular brushing out.
It is versatile, easy to hold, sucks well and is easy to empty and to clean – and the filter is washable.

Very effective vacuum cleaner which is light and easy to use. It holds charge well enough to run for about 15-20 minutes without loss of suction. The design which allows the hose to be extended is excellent – actually far better than the equivalent Dyson which is far more expensive. It is easy to empty and the filter shows no signs of clogging

The one downside is the noise – hence 4 stars. It is very loud and high-pitched (similar to the Dyson) which means that you are likely to want to stop using it well before it runs out of power, but it is fine for small cleaning jobs and ideal for cleaning the car.

Bought this to replace a Black & Decker 18v “old-style” swivel vacuum. The batteries on the old one only lasted 1 year so I hope the Lithium technology is longer lasting.
This flexi vacuum is much more usable with the flexible hose. The battery lasts much longer than the old one we had and is much quicker to charge. The suction of this 14.4v model is as good as our old 18v model.
Unfortunately this item ceased to work after 3 days but was quickly replaced by Amazon. We have had the new one for over a month and it is still going strong.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersI am actually surprisingly pleased with this. I had bought it after researching what to buy. Was originally going for the B+D swivel head hand held vacuum but i’m SO glad I got the flexi vac. It easily does a flight of stairs – light enough to carry and strangely enough suction power despite seeming like it wouldn’t have much.
I’ve cleaned both family cars in one go (~15 mins) on one charge with no problems. Did the cars really well, especially as the flexi hose could go under the seats. Yes, you could do a little better with a full sized vac, but seeing as I have 2 young kids, being able to whip out my flexi-vac and hoover up the latest muck that’s been dragged in is a huge bonus. At the end of the usual nozzle that is supplied is a handy brush that can just flip around which is excellent for car upholstery and child seats. Emptying the dirt is dead easy too. Top marks for this hand-vac. Really glad I didn’t spend all the money on the handheld Dyson, or even the other B+D one.

Golden Review Award: 46 From Our UsersI wanted a mini vac to save me having to drag the big Dyson out every time I wanted to clear the couch of husky dog hair. They shed a LOT and when blowing her coat you can literally pull handfuls of hair off ours, creating epic fluff balls all over the house but especially the couch where she likes to sleep. I was worried this might not be powerful enough but the 18v version didn’t have the pet hair tool so I bought this. I needn’t have worried!

This little vac is almost as powerful as my DC14 Animal with very impressive suction for its diminutive size. It actually clears the couch better thanks to the pet hair tool, which has little rubber fingers to drag the hair out of the fabric without damaging it. This works quite well on clothes too. The other tools are also useful for various vacuum tasks around the house.

The vacuum is compact and lightweight and the hose means it’s very easy to reach all those corners and awkward bits. The on/off switch is a push through type which is easy to use and solid enough not to get knocked accidentally. I like the little charging stand which keeps all the attachments tidy and means you always have a spot to keep the vacuum rather than wherever you can find space. It’s not the quietest of vacuums but then again neither is my Dyson and to be frank you’re just not going to get really powerful suction in a whisper quiet appliance! It’s not unbearable and as the vacuum is only in use for a minutes it really doesn’t matter.

I’ve found the charge lasts more than long enough to clear my 4 seater couch of excessive dog fluff and do a general pick up on the living room and hall floors. I haven’t tried hoovering out my car with it yet but I’m sure it would last long enough to do the whole thing. It charges quickly too.

Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend this mini vac. It won’t replace my big vacuum but I’ll certainly be using it less often.

Best hand held vacuum I have owned. Love that its not too heavy to hold in my left hand and can use the hose with attachments with my right. The hose is so easy to reach areas that I could never get to using an old fashioned dustbuster! Have not used it that much yet so hope that when I do the car I will find the suction strong enough.

I was a little apprehensive about buying this, but it turned out to be quite good. It is very light, although very loud, and it blows out a lot of air at the side. The suction is ok and better than most portable vacs. In terms of battery you’ll get a realistic 15-20 mins out of it before it starts to turn off (it doesn’t slow down). It does occasionally turn itself off which I think is because it detects there is no actual suction occurring (which is a nice feature).

I would say it is best suited as a regular top up to a normal power vacuum. I used it in my new Mini Cooper and I was able to do the inside before it conked out (wasn’t enough battery to do the boot), although it was the first time using it properly, so next time I’ll probably be quicker. You will have to go over some areas a few times. The hair attachment worked well as it is a massage type (it looks like a shower head). I like the fact you can change the attachment, and the long hose is a boon.

Golden Review Award: 162 From Our UsersThis is a great little tool. I was about to buy the previous Black and Decker model but this newer model was available – and at a lower price! The main change from old, appears to be the new Lithium battery – sounds like Black & Decker are aware of the fairly short battery life of the previous model, that a few reviewers picked up on. I haven’t used the previous model so can’t compare but to give you an idea on this the charge lasts for a good 20 – 25 minutes on constant power with a full charge. This is the main and pretty much only drawback, although not enough to deduct a star, but I had expected a little more. It took approximately 4 hours to charge the battery up on first use.

I have a pug that sheds LOADS of fur in my car and this was the main reason for my purchase. It is much easier than lugging out the main hoover, plugging it in, etc. However I will definitely be using this to get fur off the sofa and elsewhere too. If you have a Henry Hoover (for comparison) which is of course mains , the suction is of a similar level to that. There is no Turbo button because of course that would zap the battery life even more – but the suction is really the main selling point of this. If you are unsure – as I was – I can safely say, do not be.

The pet hair piece is absolutely brilliant. When I unwrapped it I thought it was a cheap piece of plastic that would soon find its way in the bin, but it loosens and pulls up fur with ease, making it so much easier. Also includes a thin nozzle and brush piece.

PROS: Great suction, half the price of a Dyson, pet hair removal is brilliant, has small filter, easy to empty (bagless obviously).
CONS: Power only lasts for 20-25 minutes on full charge. Slightly difficult to maneuver in tight places given ‘plastic bend’

I haven’t tried the Dyson equivalent … but I can’t see how it can be any better at 2x the price. I’m the sort of person who would never pay a premium just for a ‘brand’ – I have a Henry Hoover for the house and it’s so much better than any Dyson I’ve ever used, so I’m very glad I bought this and didn’t waste 70+ more on a Dyson.
