Suction is very good. Yeah, it’s quite noisy but great little vacuum. Having the flexible hose gives it good reach into small spaces.

Bought this around 2 weeks ago roughly, has been a life saver. I personally use it to hoover my room which does mean I have to crouch to the floor don’t get me wrong but I literally only have to Hoover maybe 5 minutes every day. Does a great job and I have no complaints SO FAR. Suction is really good (is really loud when it’s on though)

Fabulous vacuum cleaner with great suction and very versatile hose that wraps around the unit for storage and fixed use. It’s early days but seems very sturdy and it’s easy to empty and keep clean. I tend to us it on my cars and the narrow vacuum head is good at getting in the crannies around the seats etc. I also use it on stairs in the house at again its good at getting into the corners that the conventional cleaner struggles to get into. Thoroughly recommend – especially when it was on offer at 80.

The vacuum cleaner works well – but you can read other five star reviews for that. But mine developed a small fault – the first problem I (aged 67!) have ever had with a B+D product So I contacted their customer support. Once they were satisfied it was a fault (and not me using it the wrong way) they asked to see proof of purchase and sent me a replacement with no quibble or delay. That’s worth five stars. Thank you Raphael.

For everyday dust and cobwebs its great it does suffer a little bit on carpeted stairs i guess it depends on how thick your set is but the suction wasn’t adequate for the task sadly. on laminate flooring and tiles great, don’t have any pets so i can’t rate the pet attachment, the dust tray is small but easy to open and empty. eventually i retruned this and went with the more expensive but more powerful GTECH vacuum which works a lot better on carpets.

This little vacuum is fabulous. It makes keeping the caravan and car clean easy. It runs for a good while when fully charged and the dog hair attachment is super effective. Crucially, it stows away neatly in a small space. Thank you to whoever it was who wrote a review of small vacuum cleaners for caravans, etc. and rated this one highly!

It’s a lot smaller than I thought but gosh it has a wonderful suction power. Enough to do a small car in one charge which lasts about 14 mins. A bit on the noise side if you ask me. Other than that a pretty happy purchase.

Pretty good little vacuum, bought it for the car, don’t expect it to do any major cleaning though, it’s not powerful enough to get anything up other than fine debris, just what I needed to keep the car from looking grubby and bitty, use my car a lot for my work so use the vacuum pretty regularly. But it’s no substitute for a regular corded vacuum.

Bought to replace another B & D which had been absolutely battered and gave up the ghost after at least 5 years use.The new one is even better, easy to use, cyclonic, easy to empty, good ergonomic design, houses the suction tube outside the case, holds the charge well to give approximately 20 mins cleaning time on full charge and great for cars, stairs, hard to reach corners etc.Recommended.

A worthwhile investment, this is the second one I’ve bought, mainly to keep my car clean. The only disappointing thing with this hoover is the battery doesn’t last long enough to give my car a thorough clean, you must use a brush first to loosen the crumbs before Hoovering the car.

This is a surprisingly good little machine – very handy indeed. Very good for stair cleaning & cleaning up small messy areas! It did the best so far of any hand-held machine on the car interior, possibly as good as my big machine, though the suction wasn’t quite enough to cope with every single long dog-hair, which is probably unsurprising.
All in all, a good buy.

Excellent little hoover and so easy to empty. Seems to have pretty good power and has no problem picking up cat litter! Have used in car with good results. Like that you have the hose so you can get in fiddly areas. Charge lasts long enough for my needs and I just shove on charge when light pops on. Don’t like leaving on charger as have had battery issues with previous (but different reputable brsnd) where just don’t hold it. This one does seem to cut off after charging so is probably fine!

This is light and handy, fairly powerful little vacuum. It doesn’t try to replace your main vacuum, but concentrates on being compact and handy – which it is. You might be considering what I originally bought – the more powerful version with a pole and floor attachment – and had to return it. The 18v with floor attachment (ie NOT this one) is possibly the first vacuum ever to have an extension pole onto which only one of the three attachments fits. NB You cannot put the brush or crevice tool onto the pole – only the floor thing. All that design, all that engineering – and then some loony groupthink nonsense in Black & Decker comes up with that as a plan. I even checked with them – and they confirmed that no, only the floor attachment fits on the pole. So, no, you can’t use the crevice tool on the pole to do edges of a room, for example. They could sort it for a 2p bit of plastic! So basically this is the one to get if you really just want a hand-held – cheaper and makes more sense.

This vacuum is built to last.

Easy to use and empty and much better than anything similar on the market.

Originally bought a Polti cordless which was rubbish then a Hoover brand handheld which lasted less than a week before falling apart.

This vacuum is perfect for cleaning down the side of chairs, up and down stairs and having ready to vacuum up any dry spills (or pet hair).

Can’t recommend it highly enough – and, I’m very hard to please!

I’m on my second one of these vacuums. The first one lasted for about 5 years. It is powerful, flexible, making it so easy use. It runs for an adequate time to clean up and charges up quite fast. This is an excellent handheld, especially for the price (I paid 80). The research indicated the shark but some of the reviews and the size of the storage did not look great. This one is bang on, great suction and doesn’t need emptying every 10 minutes. Battery life is also very good.

  47. LesliMcGhee says:

This is my second purchase. The hoover is great and very useful for those odd little jobs that do not require a full-sized hoover. My only word of caution is that once the rechargeable battery starts to lose life they are not replaceable and effectively the hoover is a disposable item. Having said this the previous one lasted nearly three years with daily constant use so nothing to complain about really.

This is ideal for those tricky to get to places that our larger vacuum cleaner can’t get to. We had an old B&D dustbuster that was pretty useless – it didn’t hold charge for long and bits sucked up would fall out again when switched off. This new vacuum is in a different league entirely. Bought in January 2020. Average usage: 2 times a week.

I use it to clean my clothes dryer, kitchen dirt and dust in the flat. Once I even used it to catch ants, but they survived inside and trust me, you don’t want to open it later to release that hord… Nope…
The vacuum is very handy. I like the idea with a flexible arm. Really handy: I can easily clean wherever and whatever I want. The best time was when I hoovered walls in my old flat before moving out. Can’t believe how dusty they can be (just don’t judge me! I wasn’t the only one living there).

Battery life -> one charge still lasts long enough to clean difficult to reach areas in my 50sqm flat (kitchen, behind radiators, chairs, etc)

This is a useful addition to any household .we purchased our first about six years ago,it is still going strong. The reasoning in having two of the same is to double the longevity of both items.Plus if our first model was ever to fail we already have its replacement.Their advantages over other products are the powerful lithium battery ,strong construction ,washable filter a good extension tube .Do not be tempted by cheaper brands. This one does what it says it will do Phil Lowe.

Great handheld hoover. Suction is powerful for my carpet + laminate flooring. I have 2 kids under 5yrs old and meal times can get a bit messy. This is perfect for a quick clean up without having to take the main corded hoover out. As it’s easy to use and lightweight even my 4 yr old loves to clean with this hoover whenever he sees a mess. I love this vacuum. It works really well and allows me to quickly vacuum up my work area. The filter does clog with dust after some use, and it affects the suction power. However, it can easily be removed and cleaned up, and can be made to last, instead of replacing it. I really like the little base station, just sit the vacuum on and it charges. Always ready to go when needed. Emptying it is nice and quick.

Having tried a variety of hand held vacuum cleaners this is easily the best. The extending hose is light and manoeuvrable whilst the light weight body can be held in the other hand. This means that it is not tiering to use. I now have three placed in my home and RV would be without one!

Pros – Very small and lightweight, impressive suction for its size, looks modern and great, i like the charging dock too. Ideal for hoovering the car and stairs at home. Also great for cobwebs on the ceiling as well as quick little once overs of a room.

In the past I’ve bought two other ‘equivalent’ and slightly cheaper hand-held vacuums (for car and home) and this one is by far the best product I’ve encountered so far.

As long as you are realistic and do not expect it to be as powerful as a full-sized vacuum, it is ideal for its purpose. As this vacuum saves me 5 minutes unpacking and packing 10 meters of extension lead and lugging heavy house vac it get 5 stars easy. Easy to use within a car, lighter than a house vacuum and gets to spots other vacuums just don’t.

    In detail
The vacuum isn’t that strong, and get significantly weaker if the filter is clogged up even with fairly light use, but the cars seem to accumulate fine dust. I find I wash the filter every 3rd or 4th time I use it and I use a brush the other times. The attachment allow for cleaning the carpets and getting to some hard to reach places e.g. front foot wells. The hose help manipulate the vacuum head while cleaning and really where this tool is the best for car use. While B&D do a car version of this vac you have to plug it into the cigarette lighter, which didn’t appeal to me, plus I don’t have a boot power socket.

I only use the vacuum for carpets and upholstery, rubber mats. I never use it on exposed plastic or paint, a wet cloth would be better. I have never needed to discharge the battery cleaning a car. I used it to clean two cars back to back, but to be fair the cars only need a quick once over. I use the vacuum very occasionally around the house for light use, where dragging a large hover out is over kill.

The vacuum isn’t that powerful. I pick up heavy items or take the mats out first and just pat them down. The price yo yos from 60 to 100 gbp, I paid 75 from Amazon warehouse and I felt it was a little overpriced, I see it is currently 99 which is OTT.

I expect the next generation of this vac to have the following:
Better suction, the attachments needs to get into hard to reach place like in between front seat and hand brake. A better designed filter. Fractionally lighter. An attachment that can get fine needle leaves out of the carpet. The curved plastic handle on the hose makes it a little difficult to get angle in some places, but is perfect 90% of time. It needs to be fair price and a slightly better quality.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI love this little vacuum. So easy to use. Great for the car too. Empties really quickly and gets into those tricky corners. Works at full power until the battery life is exhausted so no gradual loss of suction. Charges in four hours, but that’s no hassle.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a pretty good small handheld. We previously had a Dyson DC34. The Dyson was falling apart after a few years ownership, the cost of replacement parts (including a new battery) would have been more than this product.
It is a lot louder, not quite as powerful but I don’t think there’s much in it in the power stakes.
    We like:
The flexi hose, brilliant for getting under car seats etc.
The compact size, it’s also quite light.
    We Don’t like:
The noise. It is a lot louder than the Dyson.
Too early to tell battery life but so far so good. As a much cheaper alternative to the Dyson products, I’d certainly recommend the B&D. Pound for pound I think this is better value.

This is a cracking little hoover. Ideal for the car or the house for small jobs, in particular were access is limited. My daughter bought the product first and I followed suit as she had spoken so highly of its efficiency. Excellent product and one that I would highly recommend as it does everything that I would use it for.

I have had this hoover for over 2 years . Never had a problem with it . I have just bought another one because I managed to drop it and the door came completely off the hinges this time , (as it has been dropped many times previously ) , just unlucky . Never had to replace the filter , no issues . Well worth the money .

I’ve had an original Dustbuster for years but needed something a bit more powerful to clean up wood pellet cat litter and other bits and pieces on the floor and have found this vacuum it to be excellent, although it struggles to pick up cat hair. It is quite noisy but doesn’t seem to freak out the cats!!! The wrap around hose is very useful and I now find myself ‘hoovering’ all sorts of surfaces and it’s great for the car. It’s small, neat and very handy and so far I’m very impressed.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor the discounted price I paid at the time, this turned out to be a fantastic purchase. For my small bedroom and hard to reach places, it does fantatic work. The one thing I must say, is that with any vacuum cleaner, the key to it working properly is in the name. You gotta keet IT clean. This vacuum is very well designed for disassembly to clean out all the filters. If you do this weekly, or even monthly, It’s power stays optimum. As a product designer myself, I really appreciate the effort to design this disassembly process for everyone. The space provided where the flex tube connects to the chamber can cause blockages, if there were some internal structure to catch larger particulates, that would help out. Power can always be better with all vacuum cleaners, but if emptied regularly, it usually is fine. Battery can die suddenly, a warning indicatior or battery pwoer indicator would be nice. I would buy another of the same design if they produced a larger capacity/ stronger motor.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI went with this one after reading reviews on handhelds for a long time. I know that when coming to a handheld, battery life vs power is the key. You want a strong handheld, and this definitely delivers. It’s flexible hose makes it really easy to use, and charging it is very simple, just place it in the charging dock very simply and away it charges. Battery is about 15-20 minutes total use. For things like the car, quick spills, the stairs, its excellent. The range of nozzles makes it even easier to use as well.

    Pros:
    Very versatile handheld vacuum
    Powerful suction
    Flexible hose makes it easy
Emptying and charging are very easy.

    Cons:
None really; to say the battery is not enough is not fair to the handheld. Its ease of use makes it a quick vacuum where you just dont need to take out the big hoover.

Update: owned it since 2018 it’s now 2021 the battery pack has started to give up but the machine and filter remain fine and it’s been used pretty much every day for the last three years. Never really bought Black and Decker. But I’d heard good things about this. It’s brilliant kit, kids make a mess this comes straight out and good for the car, the changing trap is rubbish tho way to thin and the holder for the attachments is rubbish. But the vacuum is really good! Would be a five if the holder was better.
