Bought this to replace an old shredder which had given up the ghost. This one is very quiet, easy to use and importantly (to me) easy to empty. It has a window on the front so you can see how full it is. There is a handle to lift off the shredding mechanism which is useful. I do not do a lot of shredding so this is ideal and has met my expectations.
Does the job but I spent a little more to make sure it doesn’t jam but it still does .

I bought the unit in March and just recently it became faulty. After contacting Amazon and the seller, the unit was replaced FOC within just a few days, very good service indeed
Not as good as my previous one,easy to use ,but soon stopped due to use, used after cooling down but not as robust as my previous one and makes a

One with a slide out bin is easier but is consequently, taller. Alternatively, go for one with a handle.
I’m fine with this one because of it’s compactness. Measures approximately 36cm high x 33cm wide x 18cm deep finger tip lips +/- 5mm

Just bit of advice – with any shredder you buy, when you feed the sheets thru it there is always a chance it does not go in well. So even though this one shreds 12 sheets, I only do 6 at a time so that when it crunches up then it will still shred without any problems

Love the shredder. However,as will happen,paper will get stuck. Sometimes feel frustrated in unblocking the teeth. Buying an extra. The ‘ Fellows performance oil,’ or similar is a must to loosen blockages.

This product is good looking and easy to use. We were surprised at how quiet it is compared to our previous device. Early days, but so far it is working well.

We bought this to replace a similarly sized Rexel that finally gave up after many years of carnage tearing up our envelopes. I was suspicious of this one as it’s a bit more computerised than our last one (e.g. overheat sensor) but it’s been fine. It took 2 hours for it to overheat.
We are winding up the family business so have 20 years of paper to shred and probably 100 bin bags worth. The benefit of this over the Rexel is that the top comes off and by sticking a switch in the right place you can place it over a larger bin.
I’ve ordered another Bonsaii one (15 sheet monster) so we can swap them out when they overheat. A+++

I have had no paper jams. The shedder stops when the basket is full, but it is easy to see when that is coming through the large clear window at the front. It is very easy to empty, and doesnt make too much of a mess. The shredded paper is criss cut into small pieces – very important for information security

Ideal if you’re only shredding paper. Doesnt seem to like the sticky parts of self adhesive envelopes. It clogs up. The bin capacity is a bit small but it does the job. It is only for home use after all.
I made the mistake of running one of these sheets through the old, non working shredder. It took a bit of coaxing but after the run through it worked as well as it ever did.

This shredder does what it says it can do. Assembly is very straight forward and you’re up and running in no time.
The shredding happens at a decent speed and can shred multiple pages at a time including staples. It definitely does work a bit harder if you go too thick but I haven’t had it stop due to that yet.
This shredder does overheat after a few minutes of continuous shredding, probably 4-5 mins. But it doesn’t take long to get going again. If you’re planning on doing lots of continuous shredding this product probably isn’t for you.
The bin size is decent enough for general home use. Shredders are always a bit of a pain to empty so grab the vacuum for afterwards. There is a small window on the bin so you can see when you’re getting close to full.
Overall I’m happy with this purchase.

Bought this cross shredder as I needed to dispose of years of old paperwork turned during lockdown. It works well, I did try to put in too many sheets as I was getting bored, of course the inevitable happened took longer to clear the blockage then if I did the job properly.
Its very good wish I had bought one sooner, best to use it often.
Saves time Shredding documents compared to burning them. Easy to assemble and use. It does not like to shred 8 sheets at a time and will overheat quickly but is quite happy to keep going at 2-3 sheets of A4 and it is a cross cut so does a really good job. Worth the money.
Good Points: Well constructed. Cuts into slightly smaller pieces than my previous shredder. Large waste bin.
Bad Points: I think it’s slightly noisier than my old shredder. Only cuts credit cards into 2/3 pieces! It’s not something I do all that often, but my previous shredder cut the cards into more pieces. Contacted seller who said another (dearer) model would cut cards better. Decided I’ll just go back to cutting old cards with a pair of scissors. Apart from that, seems a decent machine, and I am impressed with the size of shredded paper.
Easy to order and delivery was good too. It is a little bigger then expected but i thought that was great. Its smart looking however started using it and withing minutes it was over heated I only used on 4 sheets, upon reading the instructions it states use for 4 minutes cool down for an hour. This is not ideal when you have a lot of shredding to do. I think the shredder is to big to just use for one off shredding.

A very good shredder. I like the card shredding slot. My only negative is, I thought you would be able to carry it using the handle, you can not as the top comes off. Other than that, a very good machine
We had this for a year but it stopped working. I contacted customer services and was very pleased with the service they provided. They tried to help to solve the problem but in the end supplied a new shredder.

Brilliant Micro Shredder for added security the only issue with thw credit card shredder is that it didn’t cut through the chip so had to put it through again. Guess I will have to find the proper insertion place to make sure the cutter goes through the chip …
Like the way it cuts personnel imformation in to very small pieces that will be impossible to put back together Avery sturdy machine only used it a couple of times up to now but very pleased with the results
Fantastic piece of kit, excellent value for money.
Although unfortunately, I had a bit of a technical issue (2 months of use) whereby the ‘auto’ function didn’t switch off until I put it on ‘off mode’, and seemed to be speeding up. After troubleshooting with customer service, we couldn’t fix the problem and a replacement was swiftly sent out to me and arrived I think in a few days! Was very happy with the superb customer service, very polite and efficient.

The shredder’s great for security because the shredded pieces are so small – no chance of assembling them again like the Iranian students did in the past with shredded info. from the closed U.S.A. embassy. And I couldn’t have wished for better customer care; I had a problem with the machine and it was replaced immediately. As a pensioner this meant a lot to me – so absolutely top marks for service.
We don’t need really high security shredder as we only really shared letters and envelopes with our names and addresses bt this is a great shredder with a higher security for a good price. Chops it all into tiny pieces and works pretty quickly even through 8 sheets of pape
Good product, quite tough and can do multiple sheets in one go. Shreds with only small pieces of shredded paper so more compact in the bin and fewer trips to empty it. However, don’t continually use it for long period of time as it will get hot and trip out then you will have to wait until it cools to reset.
I received the shredder next day from Amazon and it had a fault in as much that it wouldn’t shred more than a inch of paper. I emailed the manufacturer customer care department and they quickly diagnosed the problem and requested they replace the shredder with no need to return the faulty one. Needless to say I agreed and a couple of days later a new replacement machine arrived which worked just fine. There is always a chance that an item will be faulty on arrival, but the support from the manufacturer in resolving the problem was first class.
Changing my review. My initial review wasn’t great, as the shredder appaired to fail after a first full bin. After contacting the manufacturer, they gave some good advice on how to get it going again. That said, the sensors were playing up so not a perfect 5 for me. Would give 3.5 if I could due to the early problem but otherwise, its ok.
This review is based on the excellent customer service and as such gets 5 stars. We had to return the 1st unit as it was faulty however a replacement was sent and so far its performing better than expected.It has no trouble with shredding up to 4 sheets at a time [so far] & has also cut some old CD`s in half [would have liked this part to cut into four]. Had no overheating or jams so far but its early days as we only got it at the weekend. Once again thanks to CS for their support.
Better than the shredder which went badly wrong in the first month
I’m happy with this shredder. I’ve been using it for weeks. Since nothing is really perfect, there was only one problem which got quickly resolved by Bonsaii’s Customer Support (thanks).
Pros:
– It just works. Put paper in, it shreds it to tiny pieces (micro-cut). This gives me much more confidence that documents won’t be ever readable than just the common and cheaper stripe shredders.
– It shreds paper with staples, no need to remove them.
– There is a separate slot for shredding credit cards and CD’s.
– It’s very easy to operate.
– The waste basket has a reasonable capacity.
– Takes up to 8 sheets of paper (A4 size 75g/m2)
– Customer Support is excellent.

(reason for 4 stars)
– It takes an effort to empty the waste basket, because you have to lift the whole top shredding unit which is quite heavy. Sometimes when I lifted the top unit and removed the basket, shredded pieces of paper which stayed between the shredding blades fell down on the floor. However I knew this would be the case after reading other reviews before purchasing this item, so I’m not overly bothered with it. I still prefer this model to the ones where you pull the basked to a side.
– How can you possibly know what is the weight of paper you want to shred? (75g/m2 or 80 or 90 or 100 or other?) Just to be safe, when I suspect a paper is thicker than usual, I only put 3-4 sheets max in one go. It would be great if it somehow figures out or warns or just won’t accept papers where the limit would be over 8 sheets of A4 size 75g/m2. I wish there was a product where I can safely put in 8 sheets of A4 paper and it would take them if they are in the limit and it won’t take them and tell me that it’s too much for it to chew.
– At some point the shredding blades stopped working, but a quick exchange of messages with the Customer Support has resolved this issue.
I ordered this shredder (1) because I wanted cross cut for more security and (2) because the old shredder kept Jamming. We have done a fair amount of shredding with this one and so far there have been no problems. Very pleased and would recommend

The Bonsaii DocShred C156-C is a nice, handy and efficient tool to dispose of your sensitive documents. It is easy to use, easy to store or transport and easy to maintain. I chose the shredder for its high security level and its good value for money and I am very pleased with what I received. Above all, the customer service turned out to be very helpful and competent. Having trouble with a faulty part, I had to contact an email address for assistance. I gained instant response and was given a replacement within days, all to my satisfaction. Bonsaii dealt with the issue very professionally and in a courteous and straightforward manner. To sum it up, I can strongly recommend the product both for its overall performance and for its most reliable customer support.
Very pleased with this shredder. Lovely design, good 21L box and quiet too. Love the fact that after shredding the particles are so small they can safely be added to my composter or waste bin (obviously not fit for compost if CD/DVD’s and credit cards shredded) I consider this to be good value for money and is just as good as the well known brands (in my opinion)
An excellent paper shredder , quick and easy, and as it is a micro shredder the shreddings are of course very fine which means it takes longer to fill the bin.. Also as I recycle all my shredding into the compost bin, I am confident they will break down much quicker than the old type shredders.

I would recommend this shredder, had quite a lot of documents that had accumulated over the years & found this to do the job very well. Did have to wait a while when using for some time for the thermal cut out to switch off before restarting. Delivery was prompt and well packaged no complaints at all, very good service.
Have been using this shredder for about two weeks now. I have purchased it to shred paper / cardboard for my hot composter , havin* read all the reviews on different makes , most of them had pretty negative reports on blocking, over heating, not up to scratch even though they weren’t cheap. This shredder was the only one with out any bad reviews, the only slight one , was , the lid was abit heavy . I have tried it with various widths of paper , and it has surpassed all my expectation . It is a cracking bit of kit and have used it for over half an hour without any disruption on overheating. I definitely recommend it strongly.

Build quality is very good
I recently bought a Bonsaii paper shredder so it made sense to get this lubricant to help maintain the shredder. Regularly oiling the cutting edges does seem to help prevent jams so I’m very happy with the product. It only takes a small amount of lubricant (after 30 mins of shredding or a couple of times a month) so I think the bottle will last a long time.

The shredded pieces are very tiny which makes you feel more “secure” and it shreds plastic cards and CD/DVD’s very well. It also looks quite smart for your home office or tucked away in a corner in your sitting room. Simple to get up and running and non-confusing settings.

Great shredder. It has managed to cope with plenty of sheets of paper at the same time and old CDs. Shredding is a lot finer than my old shredder. It does cut out every once in a while to stop overheating. The paper bin size is good. The only negative is having a CD collection box within the bin. It slots in to place and drops out each time you empty the main paper bin out. Also having handles on the side of the paper bin would help.
