An excellent trimmer, well balanced with a good ‘reach’ and not too heavy in use. Just wish that the cable unfurled more smoothly and didn’t ‘kink’ when in use. Maybe this will smooth out over time. Otherwise a good piece of equipment.

It,s a bosch enough said really, but with hedge trimmers i always buy bosch, i find them reliable and strong enough to cope with my needs (conifer hedges ) easy to handle easy to manouver stays sharp, just the job.

Bought this for my dad’s birthday to replace an old thing he had. He absolutely loves the cut it gives on his hedge. It’s nice and long to reach the top of his large hedge and is controlled easily. Once my own hedge has got to a suitable size I will be purchasing one.
Bosch Hedge Trimme
Hedge trimmer came on time and I have used it once so far – no problems
The first impression is of a serious well made piece of equipment! It is not lightweight, which helps when trimming bushes, and is very easy to use. Before you can operate it, both your hands must be in place to activate the two switches that must be pressed. In other words, if you slipped go with one hand accidentally then the blades would stop – an essential safety feature.
My one small gripe was that the plastic sheath which covers the blades in storage was damaged at the inner end (see diagram). Amazon offered to replace the entire machine, but as the box had been badly bashed about in transit it wouldn’t have been suitable for returning it, and I told them I thought it wasn’t cost effective – they gave me a small refund and I can organise a replacement myself – top marks to Amazon too!

Excellent value for money
Excellent value for money. The two handle positions feel very comfortable and there is very little vibration. Cuts my privet with no problems, even the old woody bits. The cord is a little shorter than my previous Black & Decker, but I always use an extension cable anyway, so that’s not a problem.

This item works well and tackled some of the thicker growths in the hedge with great ease. It is lightweight (easy to use) but has the power to tackle the toughest job without much effort. The double safety switches are a nuisance, but their inclusion can be appreciated for the safety factor.

Had the same model for a few years till they conked out. A bit of research showed these to still be good value so bought 50cm blade model, seems best length even for quite large hedges as not too long to be unwieldy but also not too short.
Cuts the hedge fine and is reasonably light.
Triggers
As with other reviews I found holding the triggers down for continual use a bit hard on the wrists. One trigger would be a lot easier.

If you want a hedgecutter at the right price and that does the job, then this is the hedgecutter for you. Cut the hedges and they look very good. Would recommend it.
Good long blade
After years of using good manual clippers, age persuaded me to automate the jobs. The longer reach of this model is great, saves climbing higher on the step ladder and leaning at a dangerous angle! Copes with both privet and a mature Leylandii hedge, except for the thickest branches. Love Bosch gardening tools, well made and do the job.
In my list of favourite things to do, trimming the hedges is not one of them, especially when I had a clunky old trimmer that kept cutting out. I replaced it with the reasonably priced ‘Bosch AHS 50-16 Electric Hedgecutter’, a device that gets the job done very well. As a trimmer it not quite as powerful as my old machine, there if no chance that the ‘Bosch’ will cut through thicker branches, it is a leaf only device. For most situations this is fine, but it did mean getting out my pruners when I wanted to cut back the hedges a lot this spring.
Criticising a hedge cutter because it merely trims and not cuts is fair, but a little harsh. As a trimmer it is excellent. It is lightweight and easy to handle with a decent length power cable allowing me to work around my entire front garden. The blade protector that comes with the ‘Bosch’ is also a very good touch as it means the blades should last a little longer before furring up and needing to be oiled. At the price point the ‘Bosch’ hedge cutters are available for, they represent very good value. However, on occasion I would have liked a little more grunt from them.

Really pleased with the performance of this hedgecutter although my partner thought it a little heavier than anticipated but great results. I have already submitted a review of the packaging as requested……..which was poor, with a hole in the box & no more protection than the box itself

I purchsed this Hedge cutter after mulling over and over the blade size and finally settled for Bosch AHS 50-16 – which is not only good quality tool but good value too.
It is perfect size and weight to cut Medium sized hedges.

Light-weight and enough powe
This is the first powered hedge-trimmer I have bought, on moving into a new house we now have 60m of 1.5m high box hedge to cut. I can complete this without too much strain on my arms because the weight is fine. The blade length allows me to get an even cut and the tooth spacing copes with the slightly thicker stems OK (box is quite a hard wood).
Does the job well.
Sturdy construction and it feels like it is up to the job. The hand control electric safety switches are a bit heavy to keep pressed in and tire your hands after continuous use. The balance of the cutter could be a bit better but otherwise it is man enough for the job and the quality seems good.
ow that i have reached 87 i find my petrol driven hedge cutter hard to start and manage
after handleing other makes i chose this one because it felt right and i did not suspect its reliability .After my daughter and her husband came to give a helping hand they also liked it and dumped their old cutter and bought one the next day we have a large amount of hedging and i am still very pleased with it so full marks all round

Extremely fast. You will never doze off using this machine, you’ll have the neighbours looking out. A bit awkward with the cable attached at times but not impossible to manoeuvre. It was good buying it from Amazon and it came very quickly.

The blade cover is awkward to fit and fiddly.
Otherwise the blade length is good, its not too heavy generally very pleased.

A Good Produc
Not your typical Bosch product but good nevertheless. Does the job it is supposed to do, and is nice and lightweight. There are probably better cutters available, but at a weight penalty. Recommended if you have a bit of arthritis in the wrists, like me.

Its easy and light to use and does not vibrate as much as I would have expected its very smooth to use.
Its cuts through all of the 12 months growth with no problems, and the blades look as if they will last me out.

Bosch AHS 60-16
Bought this for my son as a present, he is delighted with it and does the job of cutting his hedge, I have Bosch lawnmowers and lawn rakers so hopefully he has plenty of use from it.
I found the cutter 50-16 is fine does what it says and is light to use (I’m getting on a bit).
However the former heavier and robust model AHS 480 I had developed a motor fault (commutator lost segments) bear in mind, purchased in 2004 and has had considerable use by myself and family members so not so bad although annoying it broke down half way through the job.
The difference in use is the 480 well balanced, although heavier, was easier and more comfortable to use on vertical plane from low cut up to and above shoulder level as not only the forward switch but had interlinked side switches whereas the 50-16 only has the forward switch and makes for un-comfortable vertical plane cutting. I suppose I will get used to it.
A useful machine, the blade guard easy to get off less than easy to get back on so found the old machine guard fits it, So the down sides are minor, lack of side switches and naff guard.
Hopefully I can recover the blades from the old machine for the new one if they fit I’ve yet to find out. The old guard fits the new machine so that’s a bonus.

Good product which is well designed. I’ve been using Bosch Hedge Trimmers for years. They only last one season, but as they’re good value for money, I keep with the company. They appear to have a built-in fault but I’m happy with that as they are cheap to replace, although I am not happy that the Earths resources are being wasted for commercial gain. I needed a longer cutting blade to reach higher hedges.

An excellent product which I have found ideal for the task it was required for. It arrived safely although the packaging was damaged but the item was complete. It has been used to cut a beech hedge of some height an has succeeded in doing the job satisfactorily.

Works well – replacing a Flymo sabre cordless hedgetrimmer whose power supply failed after 2 summers. Seems to be more powerful than the Flymo despite costing half as much. A bit heavy for an unfit 50+ lady to use for more than 30 mins at once, but that isn’t the hedge trimmer’s fault.
I needed to replace my old ‘workhorse’ hedgecutter of over thirty years. I did intend to get a rechargeable one but decided on this as I thought it would be lighter and, after all I was use to avoiding the lead all these years. I have only used it once but found it much easier to use than my old one as it was lighter and run more smoothly. Very pleased with my purchase.

Within 20 minutes of its first use I cut through the power cord and it took a while to get the right screwdriver to break into the machine body and replace the cord. Seems ok though.

I chose this hedge cutter mainly because of the Bosch name and reputation. I find that it is lighter than other models I have used. It has a comfortable grip, is easy to start and hold in the on position.
Very effective product.
Pleased with this, seems a reasonable compromise between price and outright performance and I would rate it as a very effective hedgetrimmer. It’s also lighter but with a longer blade than our previous model.

I bought this to replace a cordless hedgecutter which was adequate but too heavy and needed recharging too frequently (45 minute use) for my liking.
I use this for trimming a privet and beech hedge and it is very effective.

Very good . Metal blades and cuts hedges well. Ideal weight for both sexes in order to do a good job. It is strong and has been well tried by us for fir tree and hebe hedges which are denser than privot.I never give 5 stars as nothing is perfect but Everything is very good .

I wasnt keen on this at first as it didnt seem to cut as good as my old one but my neighbour had more success with it then I did. He managed to cut quite a few inches off easily and quickly and it was quite a thick hedge. Didnt think it was very powerful but it did the job and did it well!
It was selected for its extra length of cut compared to the others on offer. It fairly light to use and the noise it makes will not disturb the neighbours too much on a Sunday morning. Yes, I would recommend it for men, and ladies who are far from infirm.

having had a rechargeable hedge cutter, and the charger gone west, and no replacement, decided to purchase the electric Bosch AHS 60-16 cutter. What an animal! cuts like a dream, goes through anything, even thick stuff. Keep the trimmer aginst the offending item, and it will go through it. light enough to reach up and trim higher stuff as well. first impressions, a very good piece of equipment.

Good product. Weight and balance quite reasonable. I am glad that I went for the 60cm blade, rather than one with a short blade. It cuts well, though sometimes struggles a little with branches that approach the 16mm tooth gap.

The product arrived promptly and it does axcactly what it sez on the box, plus it is easy to use and very light. It may have been a good idea to supply a little cleaning oil with it to keep it in good condition. Otherwise very satisfied.

Very pleased with this hedge trimmer, it was excellent value for money and does the job perfectly. What more can you ask for? Also delivery was amazing. I live in Spain and it only took 5 days to get to us.
I had read various reviews on hedgecutters being sold through Amazon. The product is quiet light, easy to use and I have been able to save a lot of time in the garden. It easily slices through soft hedges and conifer growth. This product will soon pay for itself. A well known brand which comes with a blade cover. The delivery took much longer than I expected. Over a year later this product is still going strong.

This is an efficient, easy to use and relatively quiet hedgecutter. The blade is long enough (but not too long) to give nice straight lines when needed. It is well balanced so tired arms are not a problem…yet!
The cutters were put straight in to use. My husband thought they were great, made light work of all our hedges. We have a 60ft garden with hedges both sides and more hedges at front and they are well established. Easy to use and handle, quite powerful and a clean job
This hedge cutter is well balanced and not heavy to use. It cut my privet hedge and conifer neatly. It does seem to run slower than my old one so takes a little longer to cut a hedge. But it does the job for a reasonable price.

Seems very simple and easy to use.
Just remember to keep the wire out of the blade.
Pretty powerful machine for the price – efficiently cuts through branches up to 2cm in thickness. It’s reasonably quiet and light, though after using it for any extended period of time it does begin to feel somewhat heavy. Comfortable to grip as well.
Superb, lightweight and very easy to use. Delighted with it compared to my old very heave one! Would definately recommend it.
Like all Bosch garden tool, this hedge cutter is well designed and does it’s job without fuss or hassles. It feels well balanced, is easy to use and commendably quiet. Some people find the cord a hindrance, but if you put it over your shoulder as the instructions suggest, it doesn’t get in the way.
