As an avid wargamer of 30+ years – I had toyed with the idea of a 3D printer for a long time before deciding to purchase the Elegoo Mars 2. I was not disappointed!
The Elegoo Mars was very easy to assemble and use even for a complete novice. The Printer comes with test prints and clear instructions to perfect process before attempting your own prints. The software and printer is so easy to use ANYBODY could do this regardless of experience.
As a gamer I use a variety of different scales and styles from 28mm down to 6mm and the detail of the printing is beyond my wildest dreams. I’ve printed individual models, model ships and entire units.
Be warned that this is addictive! – 6 days later I purchased the Elegoo Mercury washer to speed up my cleaning process!
The printer is perfect in most ways. As long as you can stand a little bit of mess and clean up you’ll find it perfect for whatever you’re doing.
The customer service is absolutely incredible as well so any problems you have should be sorted quickly and easily.
I’ve wasted maybe a bottle of resin but also used 3 full bottles since end of December. Printed so many great models. And once you learn how to orient and support properly you’ll be laughing! Also made some huge models in multi parts and they look great…need to glue it all, now
The printer is well built and the printer software works well. It is quite easy to use. The demo print is a good start. So far I used it only with water washable resins and the results are good however the surfaces with supports don’t look too well, but they could be the less visible ones.
After printing everyday for 2 months. The printer is excelent. The datail the printer produces once tuned to the resin is could not be any better for the price.
I have had a few failed prints but due to my own fault with settings or the room temperature dropping.
The only downside I have is the mess can be made with the resin. I filled the vat up a little to much once as it does not have markings on the plasic one that comes with the printer and it overflowed and even flowed under the vat onto the screen. (if the metal ones I purcahsed seprately have a max marker on them).
The quality of the prints is nothing but excelent the detail can’t be faulted

Manual not too clear but plenty of YouTube vids to show what to do. Printer robust , well made producing exceptional results. I used the Elegoo resin which performs well and is already calibrated to the printer. It comes with free slicing software with takes a little time to get to grips with, but ultimately does its job very well. I’m a first timer regarding anything to do with 3D printing, and to say I am very happy with the outcome of what has been printed would be an understatement. Points to watch are temperature, happy between 20 -25 centigrade and make sure it is all levelled. Isopropyl Alcohol, cleans models and printer very well. Myminifactory and cults3d.com have a huge range of stl file to choose from, free and otherwise.

I had been on the fence with 3d printers for some time, and eventually decided on the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro.
The printer is so simple to set up, a quick alignment of the build platform and you’re ready to go.
The printer comes with Chitubox slicing software which is very easy and intuitive to use.
So far I have printed a Deku Link figure and a Princess Peach cookie cutter dir my daughter and the quality of the print is superb. I can’t wait to print more things!
I have had this printer for over 6 months now, and it has worked fantasically, producing some really good quality miniatures. Its been a fantastic first printer, although they seem daunting, its very easy to get set up on the mars 2 pro, and not too difficult to recover from mistakes – I’m on my third LCD screen now, purely from my own inaccuracies, but Elegoo sell all the parts you need to service your machine quiet cheaply, so it was no problem getting back up and running.
I would reccomend this printer to anyone.

Makes some really nice prints when you eventually get it working as the first few attempts the resin prints didn’t actually stick to the plate but after some googling for some answers to the issue, we finally managed it.
print quality was great straight out the box but the smell!!! really bad and read somewhere the fumes can kill you??! bought the carbon filters which barely do anything. looks like when we gets better weather I’m going have to electrify the shed and get proper extractor fans……
Ok so I’ll just summarise. It’s a very good printer, the detail level is excellent, Chittu is a very easy to work with although I had to stay on V1.8 it’s compatible with most pdf 3D files. The printing Itself is not for beginners though and if you are buying this as a first printer be prepared and take it easy. Resin printing can be very hazardous so have everything laid out or risk having a very big problem.
Tips. Read the manual very carefully and take it step by step. Buy a quality mask by 3M, some nitrile gloves, safety goggles and invest in some quality isopropyl around 4-5 litres should do you. do a practice print and don’t be disheartened if it doesn’t work out, it took me 3 prints to get it down. Finally do a thorough clean up after printing and do it in a extractor or outside even the low odour still whiffs.

A great entry into resin 3d printers. I ordered a bottle of elegoos abs like resin to go with and was printing straight from the box. A few failures but many more successful prints. I recommend down loading a calibration print to dial in your settings. Oh and a half decent pc/laptop set up to use the slicing software included on the usb helps. Quality of prints is amazing, with some crazy levels of detail possible. The only downside is that if your using it to print minis like me … it’s so easy to use your likely to end up with an endless mountain of grey waiting for pai
Very easy to use and great print quality, would definitely recommend provided max print size suits your needs
Greatbprinterntonstart 3d printing with, easy to use and print files.
Great machine just wish I’d saved up more to get the bigger machine, a bit fiddly at times but once you get to grips it works well
Have to say very impressed. I’ve done alot of Fdm 3d printing but needed additional accuracy for gears and mating components and this has proved to be just what I needed. Like many 1st time printers with this sort of machine due to setup I had an initial 1st print failure and just ended up with a flat disc but since then it’s all been good. So for everyone who’s just starting here’s a few tips… set up, following the basic setup instructions if +/- 0.1mm leaves the paper really tight or a bit loose, go with the bit loose option. Get yourself a flexible magnetic build plate, makes life so much easier and keeps the setup reliable, as others have mentioned flex build plate tab goes at the back. Very lightly via some kitchen roll rub some ptfe I.e something like gt85 on the inside of the fep film to help the resin not stick. Make sure your room is 20 degrees C. Get a decent mask, when the machine is running if you hear a noise as it lifts like its pulling off a sticky surface that’s a good sign as it’s your plastic separating from the Fep film. That’s it happy printing
Son and I have had our Mars 2 only for a few days so far. We’re both into railway modelling and have high hopes of producing various useful bits and pieces for our hobby.
We went through difficult times at first getting prints to adhere to the build plate despite careful calibration of the plate and exposure settings etc. but we’re starting to get successful prints now. From what I’ve read the test print (chess pieces) that comes with the printer can be tricky, which is probably not ideal for beginners. We fully expect there to be a learning curve and some trial and error to get things dialled in and printing reliably so we turned to some other designs and are now getting nice results.
If I have one criticism so far it’s that the resin vat could really do with a “pouring spout” in one corner to makes things easier when returning unused resin to the bottle via a funnel and filter. I notice there are 3rd party alternative vats which feature a spout and also offer top and bottom covers to fit over the vat. I would imagine they’re advantageous if you intend to swap to different colours and types of resin fairly regularly.
Well this is that printer, stop hanging about spend the cash, you will not be disappointed.
I am a semi commercial 3d printer and designer (FDM mainly) and this is one of many resin printers that I will eventually buy to add to my arsenal (looks like more Elegoo machines will be joining me soon).
Before I purchased I researched hard and was going to buy a Mars 3 but the Mars 2 pro is better than the Mars 3 for most tasks in my opinion, with the Mars 3 just having a bigger build volume and 4k resolution, the Mars 3 machine is a bit lighter and not as solidly built, the 4k resolution on the Mars 3 is overkill for most print needs, Plus the added benefit of the smaller Mars 2 pro is you don’t need to fill the resin vat up as much (resin is expensive) and its built way more solid than its new stable mate.
Nice build quality heavy bottomed and sturdy, sturdy cover, great build plate with a rough texture so prints adhere well, comes with all the tools and parts you need (scrapers, few paint filters, few gloves, allen keys, cables, spare FEP sheets, usb stick etc) very easy to assemble but find a good youtube video and follow it exactly you can crack the LCD if not followed correctly.
The images were taken of my first print, I advise you try to print something similar with supports and not one of the generic files pre supplied, it will teach you how to add supports and zombies are always cooler than chess pieces. The camera I used didn’t do the print justice and you really cannot see the layer lines at all, I struggled to see them even under magnification.
All in all BUY IT! … the print was made using Anycubic standard grey from Amazon with these settings.
3 secs layer, 45 sec initial layers, 80 speed.
After waiting for ages, out of trepidation., I finally opened the box ans set it up… Bingo bango first print worked out of the box. Did find the touch screen a bit difficult didn’t seem to want to consistently recognise my finger touch. Seems a firm tap rather than a touch. It’s a bit cold in the shed. Maybe that’s the cause I shall see later on when it warms up… Amazing for a first print. There isn’t a strong smell but one can tell when it’s in action. Not bad tho but not for the sitting room. And a low hum. I put Mine in the passage with a good airflow. Just bought a uv currer on special offer as it may not be sunny.. Washing in iso alcohol in a tupperware mug worked fine. ..

I had wanted a 3D printer for a while, having seen their print quality improve massively in the last 2-3 years. I was torn between and Elegoo and a Anycubic, but based on reviews I went with the Elegoee Mars 2 Pro.
Prior to purchasing I watched many videos on YouTube so I was ready to assemble and get going when it arrived. I downloaded and installed Chitubox and set it up for my printer and the resin I’d ordered, and downloaded a few supported models.
When the printer arrived it was pretty much plug and play. The printer is sturdy and all the parts seem high quality. I leveled and calibrated it and was ready to go. I added the resin and set it in motion. An hour later I had 2 high quality test Rookes.
I then grabbed my Flash Drive and put it in ready to do my own print. Only for the files not to display on the printer. After a quick Reddit search I realised I was using the newest Chitubox version and my Elegoo Firmware needed updated. I downloaded a patch from the Chitubox site, followed their instructions. This involved putting the flash drive in, turning on for it to install then turning off the printer and taking out the card and turning back on. Worked a treat!
I soon had a bed of 9 fantasy miniatures I got from Archvillain Games. The quality was fantastic. Since then I have become print mad, I have worked through a 1l bottle of resin and so far I’ve not had any failed prints.
One thing that will massively help is the addition of a flexible build plate. I found my first 2 prints very difficult to remove and was scratching up the build plate. I tried reducing the curing time for layer 1 butthe models still stuck firm. I invested 8 in a magnetic flexible build plate. It is a game changer.
Happy printing.
I bought my Mars in January 2020 and have put it through its paces. I have taken several good models off it of which I am quite proud. The printer sadly developed a fault where the screen looked to have failed. After a couple of query emails to Elegoo support a brand new screen was dispatched. Awesome service on their part from my point of view.
Sadly the new screen didn’t fix the problem, but a quick email to Elegoo Support saw a new motherboard on its way this has now been fitted and I can get on with my printing with which I am more than happy with.
A great little resin printer, quality is lovely which makes the Mars 2P well suited for models and small components. The print area is small! but some creative turning of your print can maximise the area. Go to YouTube for some good advice and download MeshMixer to help chop up bigger files to make bigger prints possible. Resin printers are messy to clean (they all are) you’ll need the Elegoo UV cure/wash station too, it’ll improve your prints greatly and order plenty isopropyl alcohol wash.

Brilliant printers with high quality prints. I have the mars 1 and it is just a matter of time before I buy this one.
Great printer for the price, easy to use and reliable. Had a screen damage issue caused by inaccurate use on my side and customer service was still extremely helpful and offered me a replacement at no cost.
Can’t go wrong with the Mars series as well as the Saturn, great machines overall.
This product is phenomenal! There is nothing else to say. It feels sturdy and solid, the simple set up instructions when followed ensure the printer delivers first class prints every time. The system is simple to get to grips with and your imagination is simply the only limit. The build plate is relatively small but is capable of printing mini figures with no issues and larger prints are easy to produce with a little thought and planning by splitting models down and getting the supports right. Simply cannot fault this as a beginner resin printer.
As my first printer I did find lack of physical manual frustrating at the beginning, but I’ve had a lot of fun working things out and getting my own figures to come out!
After about 10 months of use, I had a part failure and their support people could not have been more accommodating to get me a replacement part out.
I recommend this for anyone who is looking for their first printer.
This is often taunted an entry level printer, and it’s true to a point, except when things go wrong, which they invariably do. I consider myself a competent DIYer and put in hours of research into learning the dos and don’t of resin printers, but the hardware here, despite the great print quality, lets the product down and it wasn’t long until I was losing my patience with the device and its quirks.
It’s my first resin printer, and it’s been an exhilarating and frustrating experience in equal measure. The rook test print which is supplied with the machine adhered so well to the metal build plate, I had to use the steel spatula to remove it. 2 hours in to owning it and I gouged the build plate before. No big deal however as rafts still adhere well… Well 10 prints later, the FEP failed and resin seeped onto the LCD screen and cured. Using only alcohol and soft microfiber cloth, the LCD got scratched but the resin didn’t budge, so I had to resort to a razor. Sadly this led to taking a chunk of the LCD screen protector with it. I had no choice but to replace the FEP and the LCD. The Lcd is described as user servicable, however the original LCD in my unit was firmly glued down to the glass bed, so it was not as straight forward as elegoo would have you believe. In the process of taking it apart and reassembling it, a couple of the really soft screws in the casing have gotten rounded, so the next time I have to open up the external panels I’ll have that to deal with. This may be a cheap printer but please don’t skimp on bolts on a user servicable unit.
This printer is great! Press to go and you get fantastic quality prints in a fraction of the time it takes my FDM printer. The learning curve is pretty steep when setting up the models in your slicer but the 3d printing community is fantastic so get on YouTube and watch as many guides on creating good supports as you can, it will help immensely. Would absolutely recommend for minatures and busts! For the price it’s a no doubt!

Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or it’s faulty but I cannot get it to print anything it all sticks to the fep
I was looking for a new hobby and as an engineer I love to design and create. 3d printing seemed the right direction for me.
After careful consideration I chose the elegoo mars 2 and I’m so glad I did. The system is completely idiot proof and the quality of prints is incredible, I’ve been none stop designing and printing.
The system looks great on my desk and it’s quiet and sturdy. I love the simple to use touch screen control interface.
There were a few quality issues with one of the parts but elegoo were fast to send out replacement parts which were easy to fit and worked as intended. I couldn’t have asked for better customer service to be honest!
Anyone looking to take up 3d printing look no further. I would happily use elegoo products when I can afford to upgrade to a bigger system! I’ll be getting the Saturn next I think or even the new one they plan to release on Kickstarter.

Got it out of the box, put the base on. Levelled it once. Poured water washable gloop in. Printed stuff. I have a ye olde FLSUN cube (heavily modified) but just wanted a small printer which I can just turn on and print. This did it. Washed the models in water and left them in the sun for a bit. The quality of small models is stunning. Only downside is it’s a bit smelly but no less smelly than a 12v PSU and heated bed melting plastic on a failed print. Love it. Got it for 180, still can’t quite believe it.
The Mars Pro is a phenomenal machine. The print quality produced is insanely detailed, able to print layers as small as 0.01mm, however you won’t need to go that small, the detail at 0.05 and 0.03 is still incredible.
I’ve personally had some issues with my own printer; but the support has been fantastic. And after a few days of troubleshooting (time-zone difference) Elegoo have found the issue and are replacing the parts needed.
Fantastic kit, fantastic support.
Look forward to using more of Elegoo’s offerings!
Recently the lcd screen broke and started to producing holes. I contacted customer services and they were very fast at responding and offered a replacement. Great service
Great machine quick to set up easy to use but don’t forget you will need resin as it does not come with any and I would also get more fep sheets and uv light covers
This printer is nice and easy to lean and use and yields some amazing results and the slicer it came with is good however the updated version doesn’t appear to work with mine. there was a small issue with resin curing on the screen but the customer support was very quick and helpful
This was my first resin printer to work alongside my CR10. I found it very easy to set up and use and the print quality is very impressive.
I have used a number of different resins on this printer and the Elegoo mars handled them like a champ.
The user support from Elegoo itself is very impressive and the community surrounding the printer itself was able to help me with questions I had.
My only wish was that the build volume was bigger but I guess this means I should upgrade!
Easy to set up. A small learning curve as you try to get the perfect settings. There are loads of helpful groups on Facebook. Brings any miniature hobbyist to the next level.
I got an opportunity from my school to order this 3d printer, the prints turned out great in my opinion and loved using it, some damage happened to the lcd screen and they have offered to send a new one out for free, they where also quite fast at replying, alot faster than me, so i appreciate the support and have been enjoying the printer very much.
Takes 4-10 hours to print a pen sized figure, the results and quality are worth the value.
Like many others I used this machine as a tester into the 3d printing world. I’ve had many failed attempts and found that after trying out loads of scales… I like the extra work and dedication it takes to get 1/6th scale.
Anyone looking to get into printing I’d highly suggest the following.
– Water cure station by elegoo
– Water washable resin
– Wam Bam flexible sheet. The main plate is awful to get prints off. I even stabbed myself with the putty knife getting a piece off.. the flexi sheet is genius. It magnetically sticks to the plate and the you can remove easily and bend. Prints pop right off.
– Nomad sculpt (app) to fix stl files or cut them down.
The Alien you can see is 1/6th scale. Took about 40-50 hours of printing. About 1.5l of resin (but I used alot of supports). Alot of pieces fit (torso, Head, arms) but the base i had to cut into pieces with Nomad first to get it to fit in the tray. I then stuck together with gorilla glue and resin putty.
All in all fantastic machine with a few flaws (resin plate is hard to get prints off) fem film can be delicate.
If youre starting out. Go for this machine. I’ll probably get tjr Saturn next time around.
When I ordered this product I was sceptical as I had no previous experience in 3d printing. This printer Is incredibly easy to use and I was getting fantastic results straight away. After about a week I began having problems with some of my prints (they would not print fully) so I got in contact with ELEGOO’s customer service and it turned out to be one of the best customer services I have ever been in contact with. They replied quickly, and sorted my problem by sending me an LCD screen to replace my current faulty one. This was an easy replacement and now my printer is printing perfectly. I will definately be ordering more products by ELEGOO in the future. Thanks 🙂
Bought this to print models for my board games and table top RPGs. No hassle to set up and I was printing models after about 1 hour. The 3D prints are really good quality. I really cannot recommend this piece of kit enough for someone looking to get started in resin 3D printing.

Just does exactly what its designed to do! print quality is great.
Only downfall was the measuring cup was split because they stuff gloves and a usb stick in i
Excellent machine bit of a learning curve first time with resin printing. I found the print kept sticking to the tray need a bit of lube on it and I put some hairspray on the build plate to help it stick as it prints upside down.
Many sound a bit daft but I found it worked for me. Going on YouTube was a great helpand
The wash and cure machine is a god send nice and clean.

As with every printer it takes a bit of time to dial in the correct settings but absolutely love this printer, I originally bought the standard Elegoo Mars and as soon as I realised the Mars 2 pro was a well deserved upgrade I purchased one! Since then I’ve never looked back and I am absolutely happy with my purchase, my next step is the Saturn to see what difference printing will make on a larger scale
I’ve been watching the trend of affordable printers for years and finally saw the printer of choice for model making.
The problem I have is the resin leaks through the FEP and through the printer onto my table causing big issues with cleaning, I have replaced the FEP sheet but it’s still leaking. It’s causing waste and safety issue.
There seems to be variance on the build quality and you must check for UV leakage through the plastic case, mine leaks through the top.
Also the screens are not under warranty but are listed as consumable, this needs to be changed in my opinio
20 minutes from boxed to printing. Brilliant and very easy to use. Only minus point is the rubber gasket on the cover doesn’t stay on.
After years of nagging bought this for my son- it’s amazing! He’s not stopped using it and making things
Amazon prime day is a great way for you to explore more of your interests and hobbies (at least that’s what I think) and this year was no exception with the purchase of the Elegoo Mars 2 Pro and the Elegoo Mercury 2 in 1 wash station.
I’ve previously been using an FDM 3D printer for the last year and with it has come a lot of frustration and learning, but after having recently viewed a number of reviews on resin 3D printing on YouTube I thought why not give it a try. And so far I have not been disappointed. Resin printing has a totally new workflow to it compared to normal filament printing but once you get used to it, its worth the extra steps. The Elegoo products are well made and so far (touch wood) I have had no major issues, so would recommend their products to anyone wanting to get in to this new world of 3D printing.
Key Points –
– I purchased the Elegoo water wash resin to save money on IPA and so far the print quality has been great
– Purchase and install a flex plate it makes removal of the print so much easier
Customer Service – Exceptional service and quick turn around – plus a bottle of resin as compensation
Since being delivered there has only been one fault which was a large scratch on the yellow shroud which comes with the Mercury wash and cure station. While this doesn’t affect the operation of the machine, I was slightly disappointed that it was sent out like this. After having contacted Elegoo customer services I can say that they offer exceptional service and have now offered to replace the shroud and also send me a bottle of resin as compensation. All I can say is that this is great customer service and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy their product.
I bought this after returning a different printer owing to the machine having physical problems. it’s slightly more detail than others in its price range and just as easy to use, 100% perfect for any beginner that wants a machine that will last them a while, although I haven’t put that theory to the test yet, having only been 3d modelling and printing for a few months. haven’t had to contact tech support for anything involving this printer so you can go ahead and ignore that rating.
I’ve had problems related to the resin of the same brand, namely the yellow, but nothing wrong that can be attributed to the machine except one small issue, the stop function of the printer doesn’t stop it right away it delays, so if you need ot rush and stop something because you’ve dropped something in your resin before putting the lid back on, you may have to reallign the build plate, which can be frustrating, but not enough to deduct a star, just because it’s only ever caused by user error.
This 3d printer is so good ..the best on the market for the price….such good value for money….the print quality is exceptional and its so easy to use!!
If you’ve already got a “standard” FDM extruder type printer and have decided to give resin a go, be prepared for a very different process.
I bought this enticed by “2 seconds per layer” and the promise of incredible detail, what I didn’t know about was the massive amount of clean up required for resin printing. I knew going in to it that prints required cleaning with a fluid of some sort (resin dependant), what I didn’t know, is that afterwards that cleaning fluid is considered worse than nuclear waste by some people. The resin is toxic, you’re not supposed to breath the fumes, touch it, look at it or think about it. So some would have you believe, anyway. It is toxic, so just be careful.
Here are some other observations.
1) The plastic sheet you print on (the FEP) wears out so you have to replace them intermittently.
2) Some resins really stink, the Elegoo water washable has a strong smell that leaves a nasty taste in my mouth. In contrast the Anycubic basic is fine.
3) Prints take ages. Layer height is probably going to be around the 0.025mm mark so you need 40 layers per mm, with each layer taking 8 – 20 seconds (the exposure time is only part of each layer) most reasonable pints run into multiple hours.
4) Unlike an FDM print which you can see has failed in the first few seconds, your resin print needs to run for an hour or more before enough of it is exposed for you to inspect and see that it’s failed.
5) You really have to pay attention to how you print the object, the number of supports and their location is really important.
6) Chitubox, the slicer software is not the nicest app I’ve ever used.
7) Clean up. I mentioned this already but if you’re used to just tearing your print off the build plate of your Prusa Mk2 and using it straight away, be prepared. You’ll first need to let the resin drip off the model, then put it in your cleaning fluid (generally IPA but water in some cases), rinse it thoroughly trying not to splash or spill anything, then carefully remove the supports. Now you need to cure the model under a UV light (or the sun), and after that it’s finally ready for you to tidy up any little pinholes left by the supports. While it’s curing you’ll need to clean up all your tools, you’ll probably need to decant the unused resin from the vat back into the container which will require a paint strainer, then clean the vat out, then tidy up and store all the fluids, as mentioned they’re pretty toxic so you can’t just pour them down the sink, plus, the uncured resin in the waste will blob up and block all your plumbing.
If you’re happy doing all that then you probably only care about one thing, how good is the detail? It’s amazing, so if you’re looking at printing your own Miniatures, model kit extras or custom LEGO blocks, the printer will do exactly that.
I had an issue with the LCD screen when my printer arived, i didnt notice it for a few months, however after having a chat with their support team they quickly spotted the issue and sent me out a replacement screen for free.
So… decided to try this printer after reading many reviews. Was a toss up between this and Anycubic.
The only reason I bought this one was the price. A fair bit cheaper. I’m sure both are just a good as each other though!
Test print was good. One model failed to adhere to print bed , but other model was flawless.
Upped the layer time on the initial layers.
95% of prints now are perfect.
Bought another as it was on offer!
elegoo mars 2 is brilliant perfect for beginners, simple to use and amazing quality. It comes with slicing software which you need a laptop or pc for. the slicing software is chiterbox when selecting your printer look for marspro2 ( even tho its not the pro the plate size is the same) a helpful sites for files to use ( but NOT to sell) is thingiverse.
we find water base resin best. But its all trial and error
Overall very simple and fast printer, amazing value for money and wished i had bought it for my hubby soone
Super easy to use, the build plate doesn’t really need much to level out as it does it itself. Prints are extremely high quality and detail, and very fast, i typically print at 2.5 seconds per layer with no issues.
Well until recently, I’d had the printer for nearly 8 months before i’d had to change the FEP film because i’d had so few failures, the resin finally leaked through and ruined the polarising layer on lcd screen. However, elegoo have agreed to send me a free replacement! Excellent customer service.
My previous experience was with an anycubic photon, it failed 60% of the time, took forever to print anything and the details just weren’t there compared to this. Their customer service sucked and eventually the printer just became unusable so i got this as a replacement and i’m extremely happy with it.
Printer arrived as should had a little issue but must admit i have never had customer service as good as this instantly rectified by them outstanding customer happiness focus well done to them 10 out of 10
I have had this for a bit under a year now, all in all it does a great job printing minis and that sort of thing. The quality is far superior than anything I was getting from fdm printers that far out cost it. If you’re looking to get into 3d printing miniatures, then I would say this is a good start.
My first foray into resin printing was with an Epax X1, for something built like a tank it lasted just over a year. One day it made a grinding noise and promptly died and the only way to get it running again according to Epax was to spend a few hundred to upgrade it as Epax didn’t make the components for the X1 anymore.
Enter Elegoo. I was a bit pensive at first of buying the Elegoo, BUT wow, it is half the price of the Epax, miles better print quality and faster too (z axis is still 0.005mm.)
The photo’s I’ve put up where my first print a 1/12 cyberpunk biker, using a mix of Elegoo ABS like clear and grey resin. I’m astonished with this printer. Prints that used to take 6/8 hours get done in 2.5/3 hours and as I said at a better quality.
It’s worked great for this larger sized figure and it works fantastic for 32mm minis too.
If you want a decent relatively cheap MSLA printer, you can’t gowrong with the mars pro 2
This little printer is amazing, for sub 200 for a beginner to be able to turn out quality work straight out of the box, this thing is spot on. I’ve printed things that will fit on a 20p and things that fill the entire print plate, both have been super quality and super detailed.
Read the setup guide, level your plate properly, make sure you’re adding files in ctb. Format and off you go.
Chitubox can be a pain in the rear but persevere if you’re new.
The machine isn’t too noisey, it’s well built and solid. I’ve been using elegoo resins without any issues at all, haven’t had to adjust any settings either.
I only have one slight blip and that is that I cant get elegoo fep sheets for the pro anywhere so had to go aftermarket. These are a consumable so Elegoo really need to get on and remedy this.
The print quality is amazing! The level of detail attainable is astounding.
Customer service from elegoo has been brilliant also as they have helped with a couple of queries without issue.
This is a great little machine. Really easy to set up and use as long as you are reasonably savvy. Very well built and solid. Easy to clean. Print quality is lovely for a 2k machine. Chitubox is a very easy, user friendly programme to slice and print from. Had it about a week now and very very impressed so far.
An amazing printer, especially considering the sub-300 price tag. Minimal setup, great quality outputs (even for a beginner like myself) and backed with superb customer service from Elegoo if problems do arise. Would definitely recommend, although if I was to purchase now I’d probably opt for the Mars 2 Pro’s new bigger brother, the Saturn.
Great ‘small’ printer for SLA printing. I advise looking into all the support groups/forums/blog posts/youtube videos and you’re not likely to get 100% success straight off but once you crack it, it’s amazing!
I had been looking at 3d printers for several years and after some friends picked up Elegoo printers I thought it was time to take the plunge and purchase one for myself. Everyone I spoke to recommended Elegoo to me for their ease of use and quality of prints.
The printer was packed in completely secure packaging and came with a tool kit containing pretty much everything you needed to print models. The printer came with a quick start guide which explained simply how to level the printer and how to get started printing.
The printer is easy to use and easy to clean and the support from Elegoo with advice is excellent. Overall the printer is quiet and simple to use.
Just like the Mars but better. Faster, bigger build plate, silly rubber cover seal that keeps coming off, otherwise highly recommended.
Prints in incredible detail, very quickly. If you’re looking to print miniatures (as opposed to prototype pieces that would be better suited to FDM), this is the perfect purchase. I had some issues with resin curing to the screen but this was sorted by customer service rapidly, and they even sent a replacement screen!
Couple of notes:
– Make sure you have good ventilation in the room the printer is in
– Doesn’t come with resin so make sure to order your own, along with isopropyl for cleaning
– Research what print settings to use before printing with a new resin, this will save you some failed prints
– If you’re paranoid about resin leaking onto the screen, use a tablet screen protector to protect the LCD screen (just make sure it’s adhesive and has no blue light filter, etc…). I’ve not noticed a quality drop since installing, though it may cause a minor one.
– A plastic razor will help with getting bits of cured resin of either LCD or tablet protecto
This is my first resin printer and I have achieved excellent results printing miniature figures with this. As with all 3d printers, there is a bit of a learning curve around the print/process and how to arrange/orientate objects on the plate to get the best results but the Chitubox software presets for the printer work fantastically and the auto-support function seems to work very well.
Had theis for weeks now and i love it. have built many models and all have turned out amazing. cant recommend enough
Despite this being my first foray into MSLA printing, I was able to get started printing almost immediately, and was blown away by the quality of prints, as well as the print speed, thanks to the mono LCD. The machine feels solid, with great build quality, and setting up the test print was straightforward.
If this is your first printer of any kind, there will be a learning curve (especially in the slicing software, and model optimisation), but there are plenty of helpful videos and discussion threads that will very likely answer most if not all of your questions. I highly recommend doing some light research (perhaps while you wait for delivery!), as it will certainly help in the long run. Another personal recommendation would be thorough resin tank cleaning after printing, which may sound tedious, but its a great habit to form, and will prevent print failures and damage.
Overall, a great printer, for a great price. Useful for printing mechanical prototypes, miniatures, jewelry, you name it.

Set up and printing within 15 minutes. Print quality is excellent! The first print I attempted was a pre-supported figure downloaded from modiphius. Sliced in the provided software It turned out brilliantly. I’ve not bothered to print out the included test files as I’m very happy with the performance of this impressive kit.
This printer is really easy to set up and use within minutes. Prints come out nice and clear. Has already paid for itself with things I’ve printed compared to buying from stores. Only thing I’d say is make sure you check the FEP often as I’ve already had a couple tear.
Truly amazing piece of equipment. Seeing an object slowly emerge from a bath of grey goo is quite fantastic. Easy to set up, and print off the chessman test piece. It’s worth watching a few 3D printer demo videos on YouTube to learn about some of the tricks of the 3D printing trade, such as rafts and supports which make printing much easier and more reliable. They’ll also give you tips on the upkeep and maintenance of your printer. You can also pick up thousands of free (and paid for) printer files ready made. Sheer genius.

After around 7 months of using this machine as part of my prop making business, I now feel comfortable writing a review that accurately represents the pros and cons of this printer.
This device is best described as ‘easy to learn, difficult to master’. Within 30 minutes of opening up the box, you will be able to start producing items with unparalleled detail and surprising complexity. I use this particular printer in conjunction with a standard FDM printer, allowing me to use the Elegoo Mars Pro to focus on designing and printing components accurately with exceptional detail.
Another massive benefit of this printer is the fantastic tech support that exists, both from Elegoo themselves, but also from the multitude of Facebook groups that exist specifically around this printer series. Any rare issue with hardware will happily be handled by Elegoo’s fantastic customer service department, and with such a huge online community, any software concern will easily be remedied.
The only con that exists around this machine is common to all SLA printers; that of health and safety. Resin is potentially dangerous to work with if you are not making efforts to protect yourself. Nitrile gloves and a respirator is necessary at the very minimum, educate yourself appropriately in how to handle resin safely at home, and this will never become an issue. In fact, due to the Mars Pro’s carbon filtration system, this particular device is much safer to handle than most competitors.
I cannot recommend this printer to you enough if you wish to print miniatures, hobby items, mechanical parts, or household tools.
Happy printing!
This is my first foray into the world of 3D resin printing. There are an overwhelming number of 3d resin printers on the market, all of them making various claims on their ability to produce 3D resin prints. After a significant amount of research, I decided to go with the ELEGOO Mars 2 Pro.
This is one of the cheaper 3D resin printers on the market. While we often associate cheap with poor quality, this printer is an exception to this way of thinking. The build quality is superb, and the setup is straight forward. Other than fitting the gasket to the cover, there is no additional assembly required. Even the firmware was up to date. The instructions are easy to read and understand. Calibrating the build plate was simple and straight forward. As a complete novice, I had this printer working on a test print in 30 minutes.
A copy of the Chitubox slicing software came packaged on the included USB stick. Installing this on your computer opens up a whole world of 3D files that you can print and enjoy. The possibilities are endless and only limited by your own imagination.
I believe that the best way to judge a product is how well the manufacture respond when things go wrong. I managed to damage a part of the printer by accident. I contacted the support team at ELEGOO who responded to my email extremely quickly. With no fuss whatsoever they dispatched a new part immediately. It is on its way as we speak. I am very impressed with the service team in how well they respond, own and deal with any problems.
I like how this printer and the customer is well supported by ELEGOO. I also like the fact that it is repairable. Spare parts are available and ELEGOO has a range of instructional videos showing the user how to make repairs. I can see that I am going to enjoy my adventure into 3D printing with the ELEGOO Mars 2 Pro. I therefore highly recommend this printer.
Superb quiet little machinr
Note no resin is supplied but i used elegoo ceramic grey washable and with the carbon filter there is minor odour just keep a window open. So far no failed prints and this is pretty fast printing a 72mm fugurine in four hours
Easy to setup though use an a5 sheet to calibrate as a4 is too big – only fault with the instructions
I’m pretty new when it comes to resin printers this has been a great entry machine easy to use and the quality is unbelievable good too good for the price point Apart from my own inexperience which lead to a broken uv cover which by the way elegoo was so kind to replace I’m truly happy with my purchase top-notch customer service
Having never used a 3D Printer before, but being aware of the potential challenges, especially when you are needing to be careful with chemicals that are in liquid resin, I was somewhat scared. However I took my time, read the instructions carefully, looked at a few guides on YouTube, and successfully printed the test models. I have done loads in my first month of owning it.
One minor grumble, is there is no guide to how you use the software (Chitubox) – I got there in end with some help from other users.
Love my 3D printer!
Works out of the box. Simply amazing. Fantastic detail. This has opened p a whole new world! Just because I can create whatever I wa
he vast majority of my prints are for miniatures, specifically the 40k universe. The level of detail this machine can produce is astounding easily matching and on occasion exceeding that produced by large companies. Pic of some included, my painting skill doesn’t do them full justice.
The machine is easy to setup and clean, I use Elegoo Water Washable resin which has been great although slight learning curve from colour to colour as properties change a little.
Every electrical item has a risk of problems and for me and the reason I leave this review is because its how a company handles your issue. Elegoo are top class.
My screen went within the first 100 hours of printing. Now I was disappointed and expected to be told that screens are a consumable part and will need replaced and jog on. At the time writing Mars 2 Pro screens are out of stock everywhere. Elegoo apologised for the shorter than expected life, and arranged to have a screen sent from China, tracked to the UK, and as a gesture also a fresh bottle of resin.
Thanks Macey at Elegoo for your help. Had you handled it differently this would be a very different review.
First resin printer I’ve brought and it’s super easy to use. Set up takes five minutes, and the prints it can do come off amazingly detailed. Great design and easy to use.
We’ve used FDM printers before but are entirely new to resin printing. This was a great first toe in the water for resin printing and seems to do the job really well.
The other half got this for me a couple weeks ago. Definitely value for money. Once you get the settings correct, you can get some nice prints. More or less works right out the box. Any issues, the elegoo support are great as well
This machine is just brilliant. Straight out the box, very easy to set up and start printing. The Elegoo facebook page is full of help, hints and tips should you get stuck or need help with anything. But you will be an accomplished resin 3D printer in a short space of time. Just make sure you have your cleaning products to hand and routine down as clean up can be a little messy until you find your flow, but that is down to resin printing in general. This machine just makes the who process so much easier. For the price it is mind blowing and i am already saving for the Elegoo Saturn.
As for the customer service…… If only all companies had Elegoo’s customer service the world would be a happier place. After over 19 months of use i had worn the screw heads on teh resin tank when replacing the FEP sheet. I contacted Elegoo just to ask what screws i need to look for to buy replacements. Not only did i get a response within 24hrs and my question answered, but they then asked for my postal address and told me they would send me replacements screws free of charge…. WOW! Not something i expected for having owned the machine for nearly 2 years. But other than the the screw heads wearing out (which isn’t that suprising) this machine is still working and pumping out prints as reliable and as good as the day it first printed. Thank you Elegoo for making resin printing fun and affordable. Can’t wait to get the Saturn.

This is my first ever resin printer had it just over 3 weeks and it’s amazing I’m able to get really good quality prints straight away just got to follow the instructions and videos on YouTube on levelling and it’s best to use the same brand of resin as the printer I’m definitely getting another 1or2 can’t print things quick enough lol
1)Turned up VERY fast and very well packaged
2)once you figure out the set up which isn’t hard and if need be there is all ways trusty YouTube your ready to print in less than 30 mins
3)fantastic for beginners and a good price
The only thing I would like to see is a tweek to the design and have a door on the front rather than the bucket style lid as it would take up less space then
It would also be nice to have a sample bottle of resin say maybe 100gram bottle just enough to be able to print the test model
I did have a major problem as my fep film burst while printing I contacted elegoo and I was STUNNED the response was fantastic and very fast I can not fault elegoo when I upgrade my printer I will be getting another elegoo product for sure
My first resin printer, results have been perfect with great detail, initial setup and calibration was easy.
The best part is the filters seem to work, no resin odour in the house!
