As an Electrician, I don’t know how I lived without this.
Works as advertised
Have had no problems but does take a little time to connect and initialise when inserted. Have found all the features straightforward to use for thermal imaging and the hardware is very responsive when traversing a large area with no discernible jitter. The battery life seems more than good enough going by the level meter in the app. Have used it around two houses so far and still had 50% left. The lightning connection is very solid and not fragile as i had feared before using it. Connects through the gap in an OtterBox protector using its extension mechanism. Good little carry case works with lightning extended after a little adjustment.

We bought this for a more in depth view of a drafty house and it was able to accurately pinpoint areas where cold was coming in for us to reseal or cover. The thermal images are easy to view and the app easy to install on our phone and tablet. Happy with it.
Helped me find those cold spots in the home, and dropped my daily gas bill down from 14 a day to 4 a day…. so its already saved me more than I paid for the device… happy days
Battery life could be a little longer… but for the size of it you can’t really complain.
If you want to view into the world of infrared, this is the tool to use with your iphone. It requires IOS 14 or greater. The app, with iphone, shows, in excellent detail, images of heat traces and distinguishes hot/cold surfaces very well (white through to the blue spectrum). Tracing central heating pipework is useful. Looking for hot/cold spots is vital if there are issues with draughts, cold spot and air blocks in pipework.
Looking at printed wiring boards for high temperatures in components is another use.
You can record video/still images to the iphone for viewing later. All images are captured by the FLIR camera -NOT the iphone. The rechargeable battery will last around 60mins. High Recommended.
Love this. It’s perfect to identify heat sources and locations. Also good to use if you ever have a water leak where you can detect where the hot water has gone in your ceiling and walls.

For the price, it’s great to have the such a camera. Starting up however is boringly slow and I believe the app glitches often. Still very usable though.

Also, the available desktop app only works on a PC. Unbelievably they have not designed a desktop app for Mac which is very disappointing. Flir made this product for an iPhone yet there is no support for further use beyond the phone itself. Hope they get it together on this one.

In hindsight I should have bought the next model up. The model I bought does not allow separation of the visible and IR pictures so interpretation is a little difficult. good for personal use.

I was worried as a number of the reviews are a bit negative – and it looks like they refer to different (less powerful) models. I’ve just received my FLIR Edge Pro, setup was super simple and the photos it takes are amazing!
Can easily see some insulation issues that were picked up by a contract with a significantly more expensive camera. Examples attached. It seems to do a nice mix of visual plus infrared (though you can select one or the other).
Camera setup is really easy, no instructions needed. Download app, turn on camera, allow app to connect to camera, and take pictures! I’ve not yet had to read the manual and everything is really intuitive.
By default you can select 1,2 or 3 spots as well as highest or lowest spot to show the temperature of. It also has 1GB free cloud integration (FLIR Ignite) and you can re-edit / move the spots on there.

It’s expensive I know, but trust me, it will find so many insulation issues in your house to fix that it’ll pay itself back. And the second hand values are quite high, so once you’ve finished you can sell it on.
Battery life is poor and image quality is low, but you’ll get the idea quickly enough.
Since I bought it I’ve completely insulated my bathroom, added insulation to various walls in my house, added underfloor insulation where I can, and so on. It’s a really good tool – the house is more comfortable now.
Worst features are the lack of overlay and the long turn on time. But all-in-all, quite a handy tool. And very worthwhile for the money.

Bin begeistert was diese kleine Kamera trotz ihrer geringen Auflsung alles abbildet und welche Schwachstellen und Wrmebrcken sie bereits aufgedeckt hat. So z.B. das beigefgte Foto der Haustr, die im tiefen Blau gefrbt den Metallrahmen aufzeigt, wo Klte von auen eindringt und umgekehrt natrlich Wrme von innen nach auen abfliet. Der Kauf hat sich fr mich bereits gelohnt. *****
Cam is small, gives a good image, good definition. I’ve used it a couple times already; needed to see which direction fluid was flowing in a small steel line. I rubbed the line with an ice cube to chill it, started the flow of fluid, and watched it with the FLIR as fluid warmed the line from right to left, showing me which way it was flowing inside. Worked great!

Love the fact that I don't have to take my phone out of my case to use the Flir. If I didn't have a thick phone case I would have bought a cheaper thermal camera. The digital overlay is waisted for what I use it for but I guess someone might find it handy. I like it because I can see different layers of fluids inside tanks.

I use this product to identify moisture and mold within buildings for my job. You can identify lower-temperature areas on walls, floors, and ceilings using this device, and further investigate wetness/moisture levels using your hand or direct moisture meters. We also utilize the infrared photos in the reports we generate for mold/moisture investigations. This product is extremely useful and to be honest… its fun to just play around with sometimes. This is a high-quality product with a great price. It worked exactly how it was expected to work.
I use this thermal imager on every job i go to in the winter.
I use it as a bonus service for a quick way to find cold air infiltrating it to the interior of the house.
By doing so it generates added weather proofing work helping my customers, the environment and at the same time generating more revenue i would not have received otherwise.
Valuable to have in your tool box.
Resolution is probably OK, but not stellar. The single sample point is more restrictive than you’d imagine, the text is white and when you’re focusing on a hot object it’s really hard to read because the image is nearly white. The lack of a hottest and coldest point on the image is also a huge limit on functionality. Don’t get suckered in by the brand name, this is barely good enough.

Wollte mal sehen, wo mein Haus Wrme verliert. Fr relativ wenig Geld kann man schon mal die ersten eindrcke sehen, welche Mauern, Fenster oder Trritzen undicht sind. Man sieht auch die ganzen kleinen Elektrogerte in den Ecken leuchten, die angeblich nicht warm werden und sinnlos Energie verbraten.

Far less expensive than the C series since it uses your phone display and processor. Ergonomics of using are OK and fine for casual use.
Thermal imaging is excellent, easily differentiates several degrees to find cold spots, draft spots, etc.
I bought this for work, wanting one that was affordable. This imager attaches to you phone. They have two versions. One for apple and one for android, so pay attention when ordering. The picture quality is great, you can see for many feet the accurate heat difference of objects. The picture I posted is of an engine miss-firing on cylinder one, which is the far left coil. You will notice is is slightly difference in heat signature because it is not firing allowing it to be cooler than the others. So many uses it is worth just having for fun.
Extremely good tool for the money!
I love how it superimposes the thermal data and colors over a normal light image. This makes it extremely easy to see exactly where my temperature colors are coming from. You can also change the color schemes to match your specific needs to highlight certain aspects of the temperature information.
This tool is great for seeing where your cold or hot air is escaping, where water leaks are, warm blooded animals hiding in your backyard, all kinds of stuff! Sometimes a little bit of understanding of how to interpret, or help get, thermal data is helpful, but this is pretty simple to use. I highly recommend this thermal camera!

For the price, it’s a very good FLIR camera. My main reservation is the low spatial resolution. It relies on merging the visible light camera to synthesize the overall picture. This is economically effective but the merged picture can be confusing.
Don’t have much to compare it to as I’m a new user to thermal cameras. It was easy to set up and start using. I found it a little disorienting for it to constantly change the relative ranges. I’d think it would be better to fix it to something like room temp as the mid point. But I’m no expert. Maybe this is normal for these.

Erster Test erfolgreich
Habe mit die FLIR am Prime Day gekauft und bin gespannt auf den Winter. Die ersten Tests scheinen zu zeigen, dass sie grundstzlich funktioniert. Die angezeigte Temperatur weicht leicht von den Messungen meines IR-Thermometers ab. Das Foto zeigt ein paar isolierte Heizungsrohre im Vergleich zu den Warmwasserleitungen, die wegen der Absperrventile nicht isoliert sind.
A FLIR device at a reasonable price.
I bought this in November 2020 to improve my understanding of building heat loss. It has proved useful because I now have a small portable device that I can use to record building fabric and plumbing heat loss.
While it is not a fully professional device it serves to provide knowledge which would other wise cost far more to obtain.
I can record pictures to my phone to show when I explain issues to others. Before this device I was presuming how heat loss was occurring. Now I can see the evidence.

Very handy
Our bedroom was the coldest room in the house. I wanted to see that the insulation added when we had alterations was effective. Indeed it was and so too was the double glazing. The camera showed cold areas around the bottom of the skating board/wooden floor junction. Since sealing this off, the room temperature has risen 2C and more open windy days. I’ve been able isolate other areas of heat loss and I reckon that over a couple of years, it will have paid for itself.
