Bought to use as a car vac, works really well for that and also use around the home now for pet hair removal on dog beds and seating. Spare filter a God send and easily cleaned.

I bought this handheld vacuum to partner our GTech floor cleaner which is an exceptional machine in terms of power. ease of use and long run time on a charge.
GTech price points are higher than many vacuums but still much lower than Dyson and our 2 GTech machines combined cost less than our previous Dyson V6 which performance was inferior to GTech.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis handheld vacuum cleaner is brilliant. It has a variety of different attachments and has a good length of run time. It’s easy to use and empty and great sucking power. You can also get other attachments for it to clean the interior of your car. Highly recommended

Bought it for hoovering stairs but also good for sofas and small dry spillages. You just need to remember to make sure it’s fully charged before you want to use it as battery doesn’t last very long.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGtech handheld has good suction but a little to powerful on delicate surfaces. Its not the lightest handheld vac but manageable, the supplied accessories are ok but lack an upholstery attachment which I needed to purchase separately, removes pet hair well .
The charging lead on mine is very tight to remove from its charging socket, hopefully this will get better with use .

I wanted it to use on the staircase at home and in the motorhome. It performs both tasks beyond expectations. I just wish I had purchased one a long time ago.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe majority of the attachments just press on and don’t lock in place, so they fall off regularly. The bin on it clicks into place and also clicks out of place rather easily too. The suction is good and the powered pet hair brush is really good. I didn’t find the scented things worked at all… until I stuck a few drops of essential oils in them…

I also have the gtech vacuum so this item compliments as it does the stairs and upholstery. It’s good for pet hair too. Easy to use and not heavy. The suction is good and there are a few accessories for different vacuuming needs around the home so a very useful item.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersIt took me years to discover handheld, cordless vacs. They are a marvelous tool, and in my opinion, this is the best.
The only 2 tools you really need are the ones that come as standard; one for the carpet (which is excellent) and the thin one secreted in the handle.
You can, of course, use it without any tool which is a wide spout for picking up larger items off a surface, like say, dropped flower petals.
The scent sticks re nice actually, and not a gimmick.
All in all; a v carefully conceived product with plenty of power. Top marks!

Battery lasts longer than I expected and the assortment of accessories are excellent for getting into difficult locations. Main brush isn’t great on hardwood / tiled floors, but for cars and carpets this is a really outstanding vacuum cleaner.

A longer hose would be useful n more succession, especially when cleaning the car, so you can put it down n just hold the hose..

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI love this vacuum and wanted to give it five stars HOWEVER, I can’t, and for two reasons.

Firstly, the charging time. It takes so long to charge versus the time you actually get to use it. I know this is a result of the great auction power, but still, if it runs out, you ain’t using it for a while!

Secondly the filter. It’s great, and I love that it’s washable, but no one warns you how long it takes to dry, like literally 24 hours may not even be enough. And no one also mentions the smell of you don’t let it dry properly. Oh my goodness, the smell!! I’ve had to buy a second filter so I could continue to use the vacuum.

Other than that it’s a great little machine and I’m very happy with it, it’s worked wonders on our stairs!!

I am a Gtech fan and have the upright hoover, I got this hand held which isn’t cheap but I am really pleased with it, comes with loads of attachments, it has a built in freshener which is really nice. We have a caravan and floor does get very messy with, leaves, tiny stones, grass plus we have 2 dogs. We were away at Easter and used the Gtech, it was brilliant we got the dog hairs off the sofas and the carpet looked like it had been properly hoovered. Very happy with my purchase

Love it, After a few years of having the first one, (which still works, by the way) I bought a new one, so now we have two. So I am ready for when the old one calls it a day. (Used alot) Using both now, and very happy.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve been using this litttle hoover for several weeks and I have mixed views. But on the whole, it was worth buying and something that I would recommend for its price point. The best bits: it has a fantastic carpet stair rotating brush totally amazing. It has a nice little light to help you see in the dark corners, it comes with a few other accessories.
The bad bits: Just using the other attachments, it seems to suffer from a loss of suction. The other bad bit is the battery charge only seems to last 15 or 20 minutes. It is very noisy. In order to improve the suction, it is best to clean out the filters regularly. The other thing that is annoying is that the container holding the dust, occasionally falls off and spilling its contents on the floor.

I would recommend this hoover for the car and stairs.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersOrdered this Gtech K9 to do my stairs mainly. It arrived the next day even though it was free postage. Very impressed. It’s really light and easy to use, comes with lots of attachments, all easy to fit. Easy to empty cartridge too. Am so glad I purchased this. The suction is amazing, hope it lasts. So far, so good.
Would recommend to anyone thinking of getting one.
I bought a cheaper handheld 6 months ago and it was next to useless, no suction at all, this costs a bit more but in this case you certainly get what you pay for.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersIt is only the first day – but I am so pleased with this hand-held cleaner.

I previously bought cheap (Chinese?) versions – which were fairly good but eventually lost their charge and had to be thrown away. Then I bought the Shark one – the very attractive stick version. It looked great but didn’t work very well – so I returned it.

This one isn’t very pretty (a woman’s opinion) – but that doesn’t matter because it works really well and has very good suction. Excellent for the stairs (with a bright light) and the crevice tool is really good. I am elderly, and need two hip and knee replacements – so my stairs have always been a problem. Not now though. Some say it is heavy – but I certainly don’t think so – and I have arthritis in my hands.

Be careful at first removing the battery / filter etc. as it may be a little stiff. Wriggle things a bit (as they suggest) and they all work fine. It does say you need to remove the battery before changing the attachments (a bit of a faff when you are on the stairs) but you DON’T. I phoned their helpline and the lady (who also owns one) says there is no need to do this.

This machine has been well thought out – thank you Nick. Nice to have a spare filter too when you have washed one, and good that you can buy attachments, and an extra battery. Seems like British workmanship at its best. If you are careful with it (it is plastic after all) and keep it clean and unclogged – it should last a fair while – and it does have a 2-year warranty. It is early days for me – but I thoroughly recommend this cleaner. Should I have problems in the future – I will amend my review.

EDIT: It was said that you need not remove the battery when changing attachments – but when I spoke to another rep. and she said they recommend this when using the brush bar (on the K9) because you could accidentally turn on the machine. So a H&S issue but if you are careful it shouldn’t be a problem.

I owned another famous brand hand held hoover and the battery on lasted a few years. 365 for a new one, which again lasted 2 years. My G tech has been giving great service for 5 years, so this one was bought for a friend as mine has been so good. Don’t buy a Dyson. Buy this!

I am really impressed by Gtech floor cleaners I have 2 uprights and one hand held. – I have only one reservation regarding the Multi and that is the cost of the battery and the fact that it is difficult to know whether the battery has failed or whether there is some other fault leaving you with no option but to buy a second battery to check. (70). When a replacement cleaner can be bought for 149 the battery price does seem disproportionate .

It’s effective and quite strong. A bit heavy to hold for a longer time and it could do with more accessorises when cleaning the car. With the ones supplied in the box is difficult to reach hidden areas or in between seats. Battery last about 20 mins so I have to recharge it to clean the whole car. Over all I’m happy with this product and it have many uses around the house.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThe Gtech Multi MK2 K9 is the second handheld vacuum we’ve owned and used for all cleaning duties aboard our 53-foot narrowboat home. It replaces a Dyson DC34 ‘Animal’ — the only other handheld I can compare it to (and which I quickly became disillusioned with).

After a month’s use, the Gtech turns out to be a robust and powerful tool that cleans our floors and carpets well, and easily picks up the sort of dust and ash (from the solid fuel stove) you get on an inland waterways vessel. Because the diameter of its pipes and tools are larger than the Dyson, it’s able to pick up things like leaves and the occasional clump of dried mud off the floor that the more lightweight Dyson couldn’t handle. The Gtech seems more like a proper ‘hoover’ in this respect than the Dyson. It also has an extension tube for reaching higher up things like the tops of curtain rails and the ceiling.

The Gtech is also more robustly built. It’s tools simply slip on and off — held by friction — and the canister just snaps in and out for emptying. I like this simple, ‘mechanical’ approach to design. In contrast, the Dyson has fine, plasticy and fragile clips, ‘levers’ and holding buttons that are finicky to use and break easily unless you are very careful with them. If they do break, you can only replace the entire module at very high cost.

Powerwise, I think the Dyson has slightly more suction in picking up dust in one spot but, as I said above, the Gtech can pick up larger chunks of stuff, which is ultimately more useful.

I’ve only had the Gtech for over a month, so can’t comment on longevity. That will be the ultimate test.

I did have problems with the Dyson Main Body Assembly (the ‘trigger handle’ and electronics module) ceasing to work after less than 20 hours use — and the run-around I experienced with Dyson customer services and the many email exchanges over many months to get it replaced was unsatisfactory.

A really simple thing on the Gtech that I love is the headlight. There’s lots of dim nooks and crannies in a narrowboat and a little focused light is really helpful. It also has a 6-inch crevice tool stored in the handle, which is handy to pull out, stick on and use when needed.

The Gtech weighs a bit more than the Dyson, but I think this is its strength — this makes it stronger, simpler to use and pick up more stuff. What more do you want?

Great cleaner but dropped a star because of the terrible smell (we think) of the scented sticks. You can’t operate it without the cap that holds the scented stick in place so I had to get a scalpel and cut out the offending stick – it is firmly bonded in to the cap. Scents are a very personal thing. They could have supplied a blank cap to use instead, or some unscented plugs that you could put your own essential oil on.

This is a good little vacuum for car and stairs. Not really impressed with the attachments as they aren’t a good fit and can fall off. Also as we have a long haired dog, I find the hairs tend to accumulate on the bristles until I pull them off and get the vacuum to suck them up.

I had looked at so many options before deciding to get the Gtech but am so happy I got it! Was surprised to find it was ready to go but very pleased too! Perfect for stairs and although not as light as I thought, it’s not heavy either. Suction was excellent and I managed to dismantle it to empty quite easily. That’s probably going to be a drawback for me, because I think I will have to do it too often. One thing that took me by surprise was the fact you have to remove the battery before changing tools, didn’t read that until after the event! I also like that you can charge the battery apart from the vac.
