The Udderly Addictive Family Board Game

HERD MENTALITY

  • WANNA JOIN THE HERD? Flip over a question, grab a pencil and follow the crowd.
  • WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE ROBOT ARMS OR ROBOT LEGS? Try to figure out what everyone else would write! If your answer is in the majority, you win cows.
  • WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T STAND OUT: If your answer is the odd one out, you’ll be given the Pink Cow and you’ll have no chance of winning…until you can moo-ve it on to someone else.
  • EASY TO LEARN, QUICK TO PLAY: For ages 10+ for between 4-20 players and games last 20 minutes.

    HOW TO PLAY HERD MENTALITY

Herd Mentality is a board game all about blending in. It’s quick to learn and easy to play – even for groups of up to 20 people.

  2. “Would you rather have robot arms or robot legs?”

    THINK LIKE THE HERD

Read a question card to start the game. Your mission is to blend in with the herd, so each player must think of an answer that the majority of people will say.

  3. Be one with the herd

    LET CATTLE COMMENCE

Write down secretly your answer. After, everyone must reveal their answers one by one. If your answer is in the majority, you win cows (and who doesn’t love cows?!)

Great fun game for all ages.
There’s no right or wrong answer, you just need to give the answer that the majority you are playing with give. Great for all ages, with grannie playing alongside grandson.

Can you hide in the herd
Well… you will look at others differently. What will they write, how are they thinking. You change your perspective to grasp others to win the game. It can cause a ruckus with persons laughing ‘you lied, that’s not what you think or do’ because it’s not about you it’s about staying hidden and going with the crowd. Good fun game.

What a laugh! It’s sooo easy to play and interact with. You’re colleagues will reveal their true selves through their answers ….as will you. It’s also so easy to incorporate your own questions/subjects too. A must have game.

    Good game if played correctly.
This game is excellent for family gatherings, there are 5 of us and it worked well, once we figured out how to play it correctly.
Initially we were answering the questions by putting down just what we thought, this doesn’t work, the idea is to put the answer that you think everyone else has put…….if you put the same as others you get points, tokens, if you put an answer that no-one else puts you get the cow.
Can create some good debates and discussion.

Absolutely great game for different generations to all play together. Bought one for ourselves after playing a relatives one. Each round goes quickly so patience doesn’t wear thin that easily.

    Simple and Fu
We buy games every year, most of which are quite expensive and get played once on Xmas or Boxing Day and are then forgotten. This one was cheap, cheerful and we’ve already played it several days. The kids are teens now but are more than happy to play. It’s VERY easy and for anyone. We got quite loud mooing at each other, which will get us some strange looks when we take it on holiday this summer.

Easy game for the whole family to play. Players were ranged between 10 years and 92 years old and were all able to join in and have fun. We found this game good for our elderly relatives especially as there was no pressure to remember facts to answer questions, which has stressed them out previously with other games. The game is quick and easy to set up too.

I bought this on recommendation looking at reviews. The family and friends love it – I can tell as they keep borrowing it. It is easy to play and covers all abilities and ages. Plus it doesn’t take forever to finish.

Great little game, but it has messy black felt on the box...
I purchased the reduced packaging version (smaller box) so the normal version may not have the same issue. The front cover of the box has black cow patches made with felt material, which is a cute idea but terribly messy in reality. They shed endlessly so it cannot be cleaned off. We ended up just throwing away the lid of the box!
    Moo!

Our kids absolutely love this. Fun game to play perfect for parties or family gatherings. Works best with a minimum of 4 but better with 6 or 8 or more players. A good game of great minds think alike or how well do you know the others.
Have played about 5 times so far and will definitely have it out some more.

You get an faux attempt at cow hide on the exterior of the box which is a nice touch and the box pattern is a nice extra touch. The whole product from packaging to actual game has clearly been thought out well. Despite this, I did feel it was on the little expensive side if not on sale.

Thankfully I got this for roughly 12 and it was a good purchase.

Inside the box you get a small foam cow (The herd), you also get a small makeshift box to put the cow and 2 sets of cards which provide questions.

Although one is less leading, they both seem suitable for adults and children a like and despite the odd card, it can be enjoyed by all.

You get a little booklet which allows you to write your “herd mentality” answer and then you compare the answer to see who stands out. The one who stands out doesn’t get any coins and then the one who achieves a set amount of coins first, wins.

If you obtain the cow, you can not win until you remove the cow.

I would recommend this game, you could even feasibly create your own cards or add some trivial pursuit style cards to give the game a different twist.

Initially I thought this would be a “better packed” game but it seems the whole game is smaller like a travel version. Bought this as a gift and given the same price for original and smaller packaging I would have gone for original if I had the choice again. The game itself though is a 10/10 from me lots of friends and family love this game!

We got this to use over Christmas, as we had family visiting of all ages.

This game honestly had us in stiches and was possibly one of the highlights of the Christmas Entertainment. Whilst possibly slightly pricey for what you get, it’s a really easy game to learn, and be played by anyone able to write.

It has the bonus that you score points based on how many people write down the same answer as you. Whilst some questions give you choices to opt for, others are much more freeform, leading to lots of hilarity and grandma receiving the dreaded Pink Cow , more times than you would think statistically possible, for thinking completely differently to everyone else.

    Would recommend

One of the things I hate about board games is complicated instructions. Not with this! Easy to learn and my husband and I had many games with my 8 year old and his grandparents. Reaches across the generations easily with no faffing. We laughed and this opened up many mini discussions on why vanilla ice cream was the best flavour etc

Great game. Easy concept. Some of the easy cards are a bit too easy (according to my children age 10 and 12, one of which is highly critical of most things). Played with the family. Lovely and relaxing as you can sit apart and not huddled round a board. Prompted lots of discussion. Would recommend.

    Fun game easy to lea
Really fun for kids and adults. Nice to have a game that doesn’t cause arguments amongst the most competitive members of the family.
Good for playing again with different combinations of players. Drawback is that if you repeatedly play with the same players (e.g if you always play games with the same family members or same group of friends)you might get familiar with the cards provided, so learn other people’s responses and reduce the fun a bit. Also wasn’t sure that the pink cow was necessary- works well as a card game we thought.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood fun game over Christmas
Bought for the annual Christmas Day board games and this does a good job of getting everyone involved.

Works better with more players- we had 8, which was a good number and as the title suggests, you have to choose an answer to a question that you think most people would have. Example, name a famous wizard, Harry Potter or the wizard of oz. Could be the answer. Whoever the majority selects would be the winners of the round.

Good fun, easy to learn and quick games that don’t drag!

The game is a good family game, would recommend. however, it really smells awful. very cheesy? not nice. the game box is covered in felt which comes loose very quickly and falls off so anytime anyone touches it they are left with black residue on their hands. the game does not come wrapped in plastic to the felt rubs off in transit and makes the whole thing look exceptionally dirty and grimy. I spend a good while scrubbing all the black felt off the box before I played as I suspect that is where the smell was also coming from.

other than that, good game and very fun!

We have a mega collection of party games but this comes top for me. Had this game about 2 months now but lost count how many times we’ve played it. We last played it Boxing Day with 11 of us, rather than use the disks we had a 100 points kitty and deducted one for every right answer and the game ended when all the 100 points were gone. Just get one person to do the tally and it’s a surprise when the game will end then too. The more that play you could add more points for it to last longer. It’s a real crowd pleaser. Children as young as 4 can join in. We were getting my nephew to shout out his answers first. What’s good is you think you are always going to get the right answer but as soon as you play it with a few different people the majority answers change as you’re thinking what they would say. Definitely one to add to your collection! You will not be disappointed.

This board game is better. The bloke who runs the internet version takes ages doing the scores, and has often given me low marks, preventing me from winning the title.
I might purchase more of these Herd based games and start a breakaway league, similar to the ’92 Premier league, for myself and a few other top ranked players.
My only niggle with this version, is it didn’t feature any Vanessa Feltz based questions. Nevertheless, still gets 5 stars.

    Brilliant game!
Bought for Xmas family time and was absolutely brilliant! The hilarity and weird conversations/justifications that came out during the game had us in stitches. It’s a bit like blankety blank – answer a question with the most likely answer. However some are choices such as “would you rather have toes for fingers or fingers for toes?” and these ones lead to lively discussions about the ‘right’ answer. Of course the only right answer is the one the majority have written down. Highly recommend

    Brilliant game, so funny
Played this game with my three children, aged 19, 17 and 12. It was absolutely hilarious. Highly recommended and interesting how family members think alike or differently with their answers. Definitely value for money.

Since given on Christmas Day we have had so many games played. Really great fun.

    Good Family Game
It’s a fun game and would recommend it as light hearted fun for families. It would also be a great game to play during pre drinks before a night out. However, there isn’t that many questions and some of them are a bit obscure, but you can make your own questions too, which does help. This would get stale quick if you played it frequently, but would be great fun if you played it a few times per year during birthdays, holidays etc. I would recommend it overall. My family enjoyed playing it yesterday!

    Great game for groups
Played this on Christmas day. We were a family group of nine people. Ages 10 to adults. We loved it and had a great laugh. It caused good natured arguments/debates as to what the most popular answer should be for each question. The rules are super easy. Would highly recommend.

    Lots of fun for all!
I initially gave this game a 3 star review as the seal had been broken. However, after having played it over Christmas with a family aged from 10 to over 80, I had to change my rating. It is really easy to play and lots of fun. It took less than an hour for us to have a winner so we played a few rounds. It generates fun discussion and was enjoyed by all – really pleased.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersFantastic game for all sized groups
This is one of the best board games in my collection, it is great for groups of all size, I’d recommend at least 4 players. Had some seriously good laughs so far with this and will have anymore, its also very easy to include your own questions and make questions up for the group to make it more intresting!
