This device is revelation to one who used the older types of pressure cookers. As a senior citizen I have found it simple and safe to use. There are a multitude of recipes available and the display panel easy to navigate. It cuts the cooking time dramatically and meat is always tender and mouth watering . My only concern is cleaning the air fryer lid. The instant pot is a substantial piece of equipment which I leave on my work surface .I am pleased with my purchase and would encourage anyone who is nervous of using a multi cooker to give it a try .

I am so pleased with this product. Absolutely fantastic. So far everything that I have wanted to cook in it has turned out really well. Especially the rare beef. I would certainly recommend this.

From beef rendang to korean chicken wings, whole roasts, hams, and the best chips ever. This is much more than a gadget. Haven’t even used some of the functions yet, but separate slow cooker, pressure cooker and any type of fryer are now redundant!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought my Ninja Foodie OP300 about a year ago. It sits in my holiday home and is fantastic. Guests love it. So I wanted something similar for the main home. The other name in this market is this Instant Pot. At full price they both come in around 180 but both have highly volatile fluctuations. I watched both and the Instant Pot dropped to 119 so I went for it.

By default I use air frying more than anything else so they normally live with that lid attached.

Both are bigger and heavier than you imagine. I would say the Ninja is wider and the IP is taller. The Ninja lid pivots left so you need even more counter space. The IP lid lifts off so you need somewhere to put it when hot but where is up to you. The pressure cook lid on the IP is smaller and easier to store than The Ninja one.

The basic pots theoretically are the same 5.7 litres. But the Ninja is wider but less deep. That makes it more flexible for accommodating cooking dishes. I can get an 8″ cake tin into the IP pot but I can’t get it out easily when hot. I burned myself on the pot on its first outing which has never happened with the Ninja. For cooking direct in the pot, e.g a slow cook, there’s no difference.

For cooking in the inner air frying basket the Ninja is noticeably bigger. Food spreads out more so cooks more evenly. The IP is deeper and has an insert so you can split the food. I suspect you can cook the same amount of food but in a double decker arrangement in the IP.

Clean-up. The Ninja had a ceramic non-stick coating on the main pot. Nothing had stuck in a year of use – magic. The IP is stainless steel. Keeping it as shiny and scratch free as new is going to be impossible.

When it comes to controls they are both pretty easy to use. The Ninja seems to be slightly better quality. The IP has finer control over temperature and more modes but honestly I’m not going to use much other than fry, bake, slow cook, pressure cook.

The instructions are poor for both but there are online videos to help. I do resent paying for a recipe book on top of the amount these devices cost.

Overall if space is an issue, if you are keen to use obscure modes, and if price is a key factor, wait and watch until the IP goes sub-120 and order that one. The Ninja low price is around 150. You need more space on the worktop and for lid storage. But clean up is easier and using other baking containers is simple. I prefer it but whether that preference is worth an extra 30 I don’t know. They are both great kitchen gadgets that for some will render a conventional oven superfluous. I wouldn’t be without one frankly.

Bought this as a present for my son and he is loving it. He has made some fabulous meals and is a great fan of the pressure cooker. He is considering buying another to use simultaneously. Excellent, roast chicken, crispy chips and fluffy rice as well as pressure cooking from fresh and frozen. He does not see a reason to dislike nor a reason to use a conventional oven. Top marks

My only niggle is the limited instructions. I am fed up with being given a very basic set and told to go online for full instructions.

I’ve never liked cooking, but we came to a decision that we needed to improve our eating habits – less takaways/ready meals. So we bought this as a present for ourselves for the new year. It didn’t take long to get to grips with it, despite the limited manual, but there is a lot of information available on the internet with various blogs, You Tube and Facebook groups devoted to Instant Pot, so it is easy to find the information you need. I have suddenly gone from being an unconfident and reluctant cook to being a gastronomic enthusiast, with nearly every meal being a work of art and delicious. Yes, there have been a few occasions when things haven’t gone as planned, but these are now few and far between. It has also enabled us both to plan our meals together, discuss recipes we want to try, find ways to convert conventional recipes for use in the Instant Pot and enjoy the results. I have now passed on my 40 year old pressure cooker, which was rarely used as it scared the life out of me, and can pressure cook away with no concerns. I’ve slow cooked, sauted and steamed, and discovered the joys of air frying, roasting and grilling in the one unit. I will never use a frying pan for sausages ever again when they can be cooked all round in one go, without the grease and spatter with occasional burns the conventional way. Delicious Mac and Cheese in 30 minutes from thinking about it to table. What’s not to like? Roast chicken, no problem. I haven’t tried the sous vide function yet, but that will come in time. Is it worth it? Definitely, especially if you have a busy life with not much time for cooking proper meals. We are both feeling so much healthier, and have actually lost weight from eating better, more wholesome home cooked meals, and we have a sense of adventure in what can we cook next, and with so many recipes available on line, there is no excuse for not experimenting.
From the practical aspect, the unit is heavy (we have the 5.7L version), and you need space around it when cooking to allow for air flow and also steam release when using the pressure cooking function. As you start to use it more, you also discover that you may need additional accessories, such as the separate glass lid for slow cooking, a separate steamer basket and so on, but none of these are necessary, just more convenient and it depends on what you want to use it for. There is a certain amount of maintenance needed after each use, such as cleaning the lid and checking that the valves for pressure cooking are clean and not blocked, washing and drying the lid’s silicone ring etc, but nothing too onerous. The lid can be put in the dishwasher, but I have preferred to wash and dry this by hand. The inner, stainless steel pot is easy to clean, and anything that may have stuck just needs a bit of a soak, and the same applies to the air fry basket.
For anyone thinking about buying one of these, and are concerned about the expense, yes it is an expensive outlay, but so worth it for the results. We use it on an almost daily basis, and because we are buying fresh food, not ready meals or takeaways, our shopping bill is also cheaper. The time saved in preparing and cooking meals means that we can enjoy meals in half the time it used to take, leaving us with some well needed downtime to relax after a hard day’s work. Highly recommended.

I have had an instant pot for a while but decided to buy this duo crisp with air fryer lid so that I didn’t need a separate air fryer. I absolutely love it. I’m very familiar with the pressure cook functions but the addition of the air fryer lid makes it so versatile and easy to use. I got the 6 litre pot as I normally cook for 2 people and only have limited space, but there is a bigger 8litre one for those who have more space or more people to cook for. Highly recommend.

Delighted with this product. I have used an Instant Pot pressure cooker before and I was a bit skeptical about the air frier, but it has proven to be brilliant. Quick and healthy dinners are well worth the money spent, and easy cleaning in a dishwasher is just a cherry on top!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love this machine from cooking a huge pot of pasta or rice in 3 minutes to air frying chicken and vegetables and making my own beef jerky. Barely use my oven anymore would highly recommend it.

    Top tip
If you accidentally cook rice too long and it sticks to the bottom of the pot just take everything you can out and put the pot back in and use the air fryer for a few minutes it crisps up and takes seconds to clean rather than to try to scrub the stuck rice off.

This machine is excellent & whilst I am only just scratching the surface of what it can do – I wouldn’t be without it. For a start you have never tasted such amazingly cooked chips. I use store bought McCain & they are golden brown, crispy on the outside & fluffy inside. I have never tasted chips like them. I also cooked a fresh chicken in 55 minutes & it was crispy skinned but not at all greasy. I have cooked pork with amazing crackling & used the slow cook for a pork & cider casserole. This ‘Instant Pot’ has many cook functions that I am still to use so much to look forward to. It has two different lids to suit whatever function you are in & even a circular rest pad to place either lid on after use to cool down. I bought mine for 90 odd on ‘Black Friday’ & haven’t looked back. It is perfect for 2 people but can cook joints & casseroles for more. There are plenty of menus on YouTube so what are you waiting for – get ordering & start your new ‘Instant Pot’ life!

The instant pot introduces new and quick ways to cook a wide variety of foods and dishes. We are still learning how to be best use it and with You tube and internet sites we are getting a few really good recipes. We are still on the basics but cooking things like chicken, ham joints and all types of casseroles is quick easy and so tasty. I now cant imagine cooking a gammon joint any other way. Cant wait to try curries and some sweets. Fully recommended

I watched videos of people cooking different types of food on utube to give me confidence.
I just then went for it and cooked all sorts. I love it and use it all the time. It’s especially good for air frying
fish. I used the pressure cooker to cook my joint of ham for Xmas. Brilliant plus I had this amazing stock which I made the gravy with and have some stored in the freezer. Both the air fryer and pressure cooker are so easy to use. I always used pressure cookers years ago and they can be scary but not this one. What a joy to use. You can’t go wrong.
I honestly could use it to cook everything in. My pot is only big enough to air fry for 2 people. (5.7 litres) I haven’t tried layering food.
It doesn’t replace a slow cooker though

I was sceptical as I am vegan and wasn’t sure how much I would cook in this pot. I had an air fryer and loved it. So when it was knackered I wanted to replace it. I saw an add for this instant pot and it is the best thing. I have made loads of recipes . Saves lots of pots and the food tastes great. I now pressure cook steam slow cook. All at the touch of a button. You can adjust the temperature at the touch of a button.

I had wanted one of these but they were unavailable for ages due to covid. Glad I persevered and stuck to buying this brand. I’m happy with it and have used it frequently, mainly the pressure cooker and air fryer modes. You really need to go on line to check how to use it, as the accompanying literature doesn’t help too much. However YouTube is great for recipes and cooking tips. I’m yet to use the other functions, but satisfied with it so far. No more cooking stews for hours on the hob, and the air fryer makes lovely chips and roasted potatoes
Would be nice in the future to get the larger one, but this size is fine

Very impressive cooker. Only draw back would be if you are not familiar with pressure / slow cookers cookers there’s a bit of a learning curve. Rice cooking so far imo does not surpass a stand alone rice cooker. Air frier and saute function are very good. Would recommend it if you willing to figure out how best to utilise it with online recipes etc. As an aside , I had a small difficulty re one of the parts and Amazon customer service went above and beyond in helping me resolve it . Reassuring for future purchases.

This is an incredibly useful kitchen appliance. Pot roast is delicious as are steamed veg, stews and many other things it can make with minimal fuss. The lid steam mechanism is excellent and the inner pot is really well designed. If there is a criticism to be made it is that storing the additional lid is bulky and they have removed some of the buttons from the cheaper option so you have to set your own aetting and timing rather than just hit a button and adjust.
It gets to temperature and pressure quicker than our previous supermarket brand pressure cooker which is another good thing. Worry addition to the kitchen although the air fryer has seen less use.

Was looking to purchase a Ninja, to replace my old Pressure King Pro, but the Instant Pot Duo crisp came up at under 100 in the Black Friday sale. Decided to try it and have not regretted it. Great quality item with stainless steel inner pot, air dryer basket and accessories. It’s perfect for cooking family meals and snacks.

I absolutely love the instant pot duo. It doesn’t come with a cookbook but Ive been experimenting and so far am really happy with this product. Ive made curries, roasts, rice, pasta and much more. Boiled rice done in just 4mins on pressure cooker function-amazing! Delay and keep warm settings are life changing, I don’t need to cut trips out short to cook dinner because if i plan and prepare it will be cooked and warm when i get home. We’ve been having fewer takeaways and more home cooked meals even after a long day at work, well, because cooking is almost effortless with the instant pot. Cuts down cooking time massively and you don’t have to stand over it to stir or baste. Can fit a small chicken in the 5.7l. Stainless pot can be scrubbed and cleaned easily. Makes mealtimes so much quicker and easier and I have barely used my oven/microwave since. The included metal stand makes cooking multiple items easy and I made a halloumi and roasted pepper burger with chips in the same pot, to perfection. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is so versatile and already rewarding on the bills front.

For starters I don’t have to turn my oven on just to do some fish fingers or chicken nuggets for the children. In 10-15 mins I am done with a basket of food. Once I take the basket out I then add hot water to the inner pot and pour in frozen green beans and pressure cook for 1 min. Done. Lunch is ready. It is that quick and easy.

Also, for the first time I was able to cook a lentil and potato sauce in there – end to end in 30 mins. Not to talk of getting a whole Organic chicken in there on Sunday and cooking roast dinner in less than an hour. Crispy roast potatoes and a super yummy gravy. My oven was only on to keep everything warm and warm up the plates. Happy career mum here as my time is precious 🙂

A little bigger than I expected but understandable given the range of functions of provides. Just need to be careful where positioning it on a counter as it’s not very portable and the steam vent will let our steam/ water droplets so may damage any cupboards you have over the counter.

Love the versatility and the fact that it has an air fryer, reducing the need for yet another bulky kitchen gadget.

The removable pot can be hot to touch when removing so worth getting some silicon mitts

Bought this despite already owning a pressure cooker, mainly got it for the soux vide feature. Used it for soux vide steaks tonight which came out perfect, but the water took at least 20 minutes to get up to 56C even though I started with hot tap water at around 25C. Also used the dehydrate function to dry up some sausages and that worked well enough, the temperature range of the dehydrate function can be set to between 41C to around 60C (sorry can’t remember exact upper temp).

My main niggle is that the lack of proper instructions in the box, only a quick start guide, but that doesn’t explain what each of the tools in the box does. Apparently you can download full instructions on the website, but I couldn’t immediately find it last time I looked, so I’ll have to go back in for another look.

Operating the front controls is fairly intuitive, with big temperature buttons and time buttons.

We have had an Instant Pot pressure cooker for many years and have now upgraded to the Instant Pot Duo Crisp + Air Fryer. We now find that our fan oven is virtually redundant, so the long time for pre-heating is no longer an inconvenience. The fact that both our new purchase and our microwave oven use 240V plugs means that we are saving on our electricity usage and of course on our energy bills. Unfortunately there is no recipe book with the item and the available recipe books tend to be written for the American market. So you have to rely on the uTube videos or the on-line recipes, some of which are very good. We would recommend this item as a must-have unit. Very happy with our purchase.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve just received this so not tried the actual pot yet but it’s really poor customer service of the company to not at least include a few recipes. All very well downloading an app but it’s sometimes good to have written recipes to start so you can make notes on them if necessary as you learn how to use it. It’s also an additional expense to have to buy a recipe book to get started and going by reviews of them they all seem less than ideal. I don’t really want to have to use my phone or tablet for recipes app while I’m cooking nor do I want faff of printing them off. I bought a cheap blender at less than 20 and got a recipe book. Never yet bought a kitchen machine without one.

NOTE….I asked a question on here about this sticker and someone said they removed it. Just had reply back from Instant Pot and it should be left in place provided it’s not on the base where heating element is. On my pot it’s half way up the non stick wall. It’s a caution sticker so important to leave for everyone to read.

Update…. Now used the saute function… Works well, pressure cooker also great. Have made excellent beef stew, goulash and soup. I was always scared of pressure cookers but no more. Only thing to remember is to hit start or all settings disappear after a few seconds. Once you get hang if it, it’s really simple to use.

    Seriously!

This is my second Instant Pot. I had been very pleased with it but I wanted to try out the Air Fryer Lid. So far it has met my expectations fully. It cooked frozen chips very well, nicely browned a crumb topping and finished off a chicken cooked under pressure to give it a golden, crispy skin. I’m really looking forward to trying the other functions of the Air Fryer very soon.

Treasure truck deal so was reduced. Bonus to have air fryer lid included
Still experimenting but to cook a roast chicken in under 30mins and a mutton curry in 25 – can’t go wrong!!
Stainless steel inners so there’s no issue with washing.
Isn’t as noisy as my previous pressure cooker – that kids used to be frightened of when the pressure released!
    Easy to clean and operate.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis pot is the best investment so far this year. I barely ever use anything else for cooking in my kitchen cause it does everything. I hope there sell the inner pot just on its own cause it would be even better to have a couple of those. For working mums this product is the Best Buy makes putting dinner together quick and the app has a lot of recipes that you can make. 🙂

As cook with low fat sprays and found our previous multi cooker with a non-stick pan was a pain because it got destroyed by the lack of oils.

This one is great because we can use low/no fat and can give it a deep scrub without worrying about destroying a non-stick surface.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersShame no printed recipes (need to use the IP app) but there are plenty of online recipes, though most are based on people using a separate airfryer rather than this all-in-1 unit.
Following the online recipes has made family meal cooking so much easier to get desired results without having to keep checking a pan or prodding food to see if it is cooked through. Pork medallions just fell apart, perfect for children, chips crisped. Have ordered silicon basket, lifting gloves, silicon egg muffin tray and the official IP twin steel steam basket and some IP recipe books from Amazon. Love this cooker!

I’m in love with this gadget. I use it 1-2 times a day: baking batches of potatoes, pasta bolognese and air frying roast potato’s, oven chips and nuggets.
I still prefer the ninja grill for steak because of the size of the grill platform.
I just throw chips into the main liner and they come out perfect and evenly cooked every time. Clean up is so easy.
    Highly recommend.

It takes a little bit of time to get to grips with how this works if you’ve not used one before, but it’s really simple. Great to have an airfryer as part of it, it’s a great combination to make healthy and quick meals. Can pressure cook a whole chicken in 25 then change lids and brown with some potatoes for 20 mins. It retains the moisture in the meat. Used instead of the fan oven a few times, it’s it to temperature in a few minutes so will be saving money and electricity. Got it on the treasure truck at 129 so a great bargain. Can’t wait to try more things such as soups and stews.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis short review is based after a few months of usage. It is well made.

The pressure cooker is probably the best feature because you get all the results of a normal pressure cooker without the sudden release of pressure or hissing noise.

The Slow Cooking is good too though the temperature is a lot lower than my Russell Hobbs Slowcooker’s which is both good and bad, good because it doesn’t dry the meat out like a traditional slow cooker but bad in that it takes a lot longer to cook even on high.

Sous-vide does work but the temperature is not based on a probe so I am uncertain as to how accurate it is as result I gave it extra time.

All of the feature of this are great except for the “Air Fryer” which is nothing of the kind but is basically just a grill/oven because it is sealed with a top heating element but because you have to pause it and flip/rotate the food yourself it makes this extremely awkward.

I haven’t tried any of the other features but will update if and when I do.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis product is amazing. I already had the instant pot duo mini, so I’m used to this brand. I was looking for an upgrade and I decided to go for this. It’s is quite heavy and you need a large area on your counter top to house this, as you won’t want to keep moving it around. It has 2 lids; one for pressure cooking and the other for airfrying. I’ve only used the airfrying function so far and it’s top notch. It’s quite easy to use. I’m missing the leaflet with the cook times but I got a recipe book which should help me. All in all, good value for your money and very versatile.

    Awesome but heavy

A versatile combination cooker that reduces cooking time, saves energy and it can be programmed to free up time in the kitchen. Cooking beef, chicken and a whole leg of lamb in less than one hour is achievable. The gravy and sauce can be made in the same pot; less washing up. The stainless inner is easy to keep clean and free of scratches. The air fryer that fits on the top can be used to brown and crisp the surface of foods, ie chicken.

I’m so happy I bought this. I already had an Instant Pot duo and a different brand of air fryer but couldn’t resist the price on Prime Day. The pressure cooking part feels like an upgrade, the pressure vents are easier to use than the duo and it comes with a better trivet. The air fryer is great too, really easy to use and easier to clean than my previous air fryer. Did roast potatoes yesterday, pressure cooked for 5 mins to part cook and then just changed the lid to air Fry them, minimal washing up! It is big but keep remembering that it replaces two appliances. The protective cap to the fryer lid for storage is fiddly to fit, had to consult a you tube video

I absolutely love this machine! I bought this as we’re going to be remodelling our kitchen soon and I liked the idea of having the air fryer/bake function as well as all the original instant pot functions so we don’t have to live off stews and takeaways. I tested out the air fry function and the chips came out AMAZING. I always thought people who raved about chips in the air fryer must have been on diets for too long to know what real chips taste like, but these were delicious! I also tested out the sous vide function and although it took AGES to get to temperature the steak came out perfectly. Next time I’ll try get the water as close to temperature using a thermometer to speed up the process a bit. Either way, I’m very impressed and anticipate I won’t be using my oven as much as I used to; and definitely not for chips.

    Love it!

Wow, amazing product. This 8L pressure cooker is the biggest one in the UK presently. I cook a whole 2.3KG chicken inside it and airfry. Mac cheese, Yogurt, ribs. Cook meat straight from frozen. No hot kitchen for me anymore as this machine stays cool, cooks everything a fraction of the time and browns and roasts perfect. Cooked a whole 2.5kg frozen ham the other day, took 40 mins compared to 3 hours on hob or oven. Watch Jamerill Stewart on you tube, explains how to use this machine, cooks many meals in it. Great for idea’s.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy oven died and my landlord moves at a glacial pace getting these kind of things fixed, so anticipating a while without a way to cook I looked at the Duo Crisp and thought, why not?!

    This thing is amazing.
So much so that even with a new oven I’m still using this for almost everything. Why? Because it does a better job and it’s easier to clean.

Also being able to pressure cook and air-fry in the same bowl is a game changer. Want fall apart tender pork belly with golden crispy crackling? This thing will do it better than anything you’ve seen. Want to do it all without making your house stink, or a crime scene out of your regular oven? The instant pot is a little flavour factory.

Want to make kale chips or home made crispy seaweed? This is your go-to device.

You can even make cakes in it! Literally anything you can think of this will cook, usually better than a regular oven or fryer.

    Annoyances:
C9 error: air dry lid seems to be a little particular about how you put it on, and needs a nudge to align the contacts sometimes

Unbalanced fan: certainly not a dealbreaker, but the fan in the kid is a little unbalanced on my one and can be a little louder than expected at low speeds such as dehydrate.

Burns: don’t be like me, if you reach in to the pot you’re gonna burn your arms. Use tongs.

In summary, a great upgrade from a regular instant pot. I had the 6l before and was concerned that this may be too big but it absolutely isn’t. It still fits in the same spaces the old one used to, even with the air fry lid, and it’s nice to have the extra room to cook with.

It’s fabulous being able to pressure cook a whole chicken for 30 minutes, drain out the juices then switch lids and get a nice crispy skin on it!! I hardly need to use my oven, so it saves me a lot of money. Brilliant if you like to make jam, marmalade or chutney as gifts as you can make big batches very quickly and easily. Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersFirst, I’m not a chef. I’m a single person household, and I like to dine well. So my kitchen’s “my castle” anyway, as small it may be and although I’m not a chef.

Compared to other Instant Pot multicookers, the Duo Crisp AF 8 has a slightly different set of cooking programmes available through its control panel:
There are only types of cooking available (saut, pressure cook, steam, air fry etc), there are no buttons anymore for specific types of meals (e. g. “meat stew”, “poultry”, “egg”, “cake” or “yogurt” etc as found on other Instant Pot cookers). This is perfect for the vegan kitchen. It does not explicitly show non-vegan cooking programmes on the control panel. Therefore, out of all Instant Pot multicookers available, the Duo Crisp AF is the one to go for if you run a vegan household.

Without presets for specific types of foods you need to know the programme you want to cook your meal or side with (how to cook it), for how long and at what temperature.
Instant Pot provides downloadable cooking (time) tables on their website, and there are plenty of Instant Pot specific cookbooks available, too, also for the vegan kitchen. Not to mention the Instant Pot recipe app.

You still can make (vegan) yoghurt or sterilise yoghurt glasses without the explicit buttons to “sterilize” or make “yogurt” found on other multicookers. You just need to figure out the programmes to use 😉

Easy to use. Easy to clean. It replaces pans and the oven. Since it arrived, I’m using it almost every day as a part of my kitchen environment to prepare specific foods, e. g. various types of beans, or one-pot-spaghetti and the like. The air fry and broil programmes have worked well so far with french fries, tofu nuggets and tofu fingers.
There’s certainly a whole lot more to explore, and currently I’m looking forward to try all the (vegan) recipes the Instant Pot app provides.

The question is: do you need to or want to use a multicooker? If you find it would suit you, I certainly would recommend the Duo Crisp AF 8 to vegans and vegetarians and all those who want air frying included with their multicooker.
The Duo Crisp AF 8 certainly fits everyone with limited space in the kitchen or on a budget, since it delivers 11 in 1 cooking methods, including air frying.

The 8l pot isn’t huge. It’s big, though for me as a single household it’s still suitable. I wouldn’t choose a smaller one. Besides, using the air fryer you’ll prefer the larger one.

This is cooking made simple and fun.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was really sceptical about the need for this in my kitchen which is pretty much stacked out with equipment! However, i was persuaded by a couple of friends who had one to try it. Its no exaggeration to say it has transformed our weekly meals. I love to cook but long hours at work mean i often don’t have much time in the week. The best macaroni cheese for the kids in minutes, and my husband and i are living off veggie stews and curries. The flavour generated by using the pressure cook is incredible.
We eat veggie in the week but some meat at the weekend- melt in the mouth ribs in half an hour, butter chicken in a similar time.
I also use it to make yogurt in an effort to cut down on plastic – not quite managed to get thick greek style yogurt yet but i think thats more to do with user error!
Finally, i am do pleased we bought the air fryer version. The chips are so much better than done in the oven.
There are still various functions i need to experiment with but safe to say I’m delighted i bought it and wouldn’t want to be without it. Highly recommend getting a recipe book, though there are endless recipes online but you do need to get used to liquid volumes as you need less to pressure cook.

I heard others commenting about how IP airfryer is not the best out there but having the satisfaction from my first IP I still decided to give it a try. To my surprise, the recipes I tried came out really well. I did the buffalo wings with perfect crispy skin and moist meat inside. I also made pasta with cheese on the top which I broiled using the airfryer lid and it came out amazing! It really does the job and I am very pleased with it. The concept of this appliance is excellent. I regularly use two stovetop pressure cookers anyway, but this is the first electric model I’ve had. It is large and you will need that extra space to put it. Under an overhead unit isn’t really ideal from the steam and heat point of view!
The air fried food and pressure cooking results so far are excellent, but personally I think its the type of thing that you will have to persevere and experiment with to get the maximum benefit from.
On the downside, the recipes that come with the Duo Crisp are practically non existent. Had to purchase a couple of books from Amazon immediately.

Easy to set up, although you have to google some of the basics for cooking. Buttons are clear and easy, led screen is bright and easy to read. Lids are easy to change, although the airfry lid is very large, it does have its own little protective base it can sit on. Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersSo glad to have brought IP Duo Crisp. I’ve been thinking of buying one for a while, and having one is worth it. The most useful aspect for me is the touted feature -combination of pressure cooker and air fryer. The very first dish my partner and I made was BBQ ribs (you just need the right recipe ) ours turned out juicy and tender on the inside and slightly crispy and caramelized outside which we very much prefer. Afterwards, we tried a bunch of recipes almost everyday to see if it’ll keep up with our fancies -it definitely delivered, from making chili con carne using dry beans to making steamed buns.

Oh and boy did I mention the time of cooking vs conventional method- one third to one half faster, or maybe even more. Also, you can just leave it be, it’ll alarm when it needs you. No more baby sitting the cooking process.

Useful tip for breeze of cooking using the instapot with multiple dishes that can’t be possibly cooked together: buy an extra inner pot and accessories.

Golden Review Award: 41 From Our UsersThis version of the Instant Pot range / electric pressure cooker format, with the air fryer lid, is by far the best, to the extent I’d say if you’re in the market for an electric pressure cooker, really don’t bother with a cheaper version, that would be false economy, just go for a month without eating prime fillet steak every day like you usually do to save up the extra cash for this one.

I’d always been dubious about air fryers, because I didn’t see what they did that halogen ovens didn’t do — but I didn’t want roasted chips, I wanted deep fried chips. But I decided to take a punt and discovered that chips done in this air fryer really do taste like deep fried chips rather than the abominations that are oven chips. Add a few sausages in whilst you’re doing your chips and you get a depth of flavour you’ve never had before.

But also the air fryer lid does a pretty good job at roasting a slab of meat with some roast potatoes, if you use the roast setting. Always fancied making crisps at home? Yep, with practice it does those pretty well, too.

As well as the usual pressure cooker and slow cooker settings you’ve got a sous vide bath as well, which works as well as any dedicated sous vide bath, and better than a circulator / heater because you don’t have to mess around with ping pong balls.

But also what sets this Instant Pot apart from other electric pressure cookers is the product design — the controls are more intuitive, and do what you as a cook want them to do. And the designers have solved problems that they’ve clearly experienced themselves using other products — burnt fingers knocking the pressure weight off? This has a separate button to release it. Nowhere to put the dripping wet lid down in the kitchen when you take it off? On this there are a couple of lugs and holes either side of the lid and the pot to just slot it into.

I can be properly miserable on Amazon reviews when I don’t think something is any good, but I’m proper pleased with this one.

Golden Review Award: 65 From Our UsersFirst, despite the Corona, I got the instant pot at an incredible speed! Thank you so much for that.
The product itself, just great. I already had an instant pot, from an older model, and I really liked it too, but there is nothing to compare. I’m a chef, at the Hilton, and I have quite an idea of how food is supposed to come out at the end of the process.
And no doubt, the instant pot gives the perfect end result.
Especially now that he has the new lid with the browning of the food, really no longer need anything else in the kitchen. I roast with it, make perfect rice every time, steam vegetables, gyoza, dumplings, fry onions, or any other ingredient before further preparation, even sous vide comes out perfect, time after time – and I have a sous vide device in my house, which is now completely abandoned.
Really, a perfect device, and with the new size, of 8 liters, really do not need any other device in the house, and this is not an advertisement, this is really my sincere opinion on this wonderful device.
What else will they invent? I have no idea. But right now I’m really happy with this model!

Golden Review Award: 154 From Our Usersi am a big fan of Instant pot (Ipot) and I erally like their innovations. I upgraded to the 6L Evo Duo Plus recently, and I absolutely love it. I’d been thinking about getting an 8 litre Ipot to complement my 6L for a while, and when the Evo Crisp was announced, I signed up for notifications and bought it as soon as it was available.

It’s a really great piece of kit.

Pressure Cooking: If you already have an older Ipot, you’ll find this is an improvement on the pressure cooking front. The lid locks on easily and automatically, and the pressure release is easy. It doesn’t have any preset programmes (the space on the panel was needed for the Airfryer buttons), but it does remember what you chose last. Like all Ipots, it’s surprisingly quiet and amazingly efficient.

SousVide: The accurate temperature control (1 degree increments) means that the Sous Vide option is very useable and, being an 8L pot, there is plenty of room

The new feature though is the Airfryer/Grill (“broil”)/Roast /Bake and dehydrate options using the Air Fryer lid. It’s really easy to use (but be aware that the Air Fryer lid is quite heavy, it needs to be), and works well. The AIrfryer basket is double height so it’s possible to cook, say, a large amount of chips in one go, and to have them cook well.

Now it’s possible to pressure cook food AND then get it to brown and/or crisp as well. Chicken, Ribs, Rice Pudding….. whatever.

I haven’t tried the dehydrater function (I’m lucky that I have a separate dehydrator( , but I’m really happy to have it available. . The accurate temperature and the 1 degree increments should make this a very successful feature. It would be quieter than my current machine, and I anticpate using my Ipot for dehydrating in preference to my big machine, if I’m drying a relatively small amount.

You may wonder why I’ve “only” rated this 4 stars instead of 5. I hovered over those buttons for ages, trying to decide what to do. Really, it deserves 5 stars. If I’d bought this while I had my original Duo, or my SV model, I would DEFINITELTY have given this 5 stars. However, I bought this while my 6L model os the Evo Duo Plus, and Eva has a couple of features that I love that aren’t on the Crisp. (I’m a bit of a lone voice about it, as I know a couple of people who have replced their Evo Duo Plus Ipots with the Duo Crisp and are completely satisfied) If there had been a 4.9 star rating option, I would have chosen that.

Instant Pots are great machines, and are really good value. If you don’t have one already, then this particular model is well worth considering. If you have an older Ipot and are thinking of upgrading, then you’ll love this one. It has so many features just in one pot.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersAbsolutely love my Instant Pot Crisp! Makes fabulous chips! Cooking a gammon joint is a breeze – pressure cook for tenderness, add glaze and air fry to finish off. Same with whole chickens too – moist succulent meat and skin crisped up nicely. Also great for roasting the chicken carcass for making stock with. Chicken kebabs were fab as were spicy lamb shish kebabs, marinated chicken goujons, mini burgers, Chinese marinated chicken thighs. Also great for proving bread using the sous vide function and even bakes a mean crusty cob! Loving the addition to my kitchen and I’m looking forwards to trying many more recipes in i
