Fire TV
I just find it very slow on boot up And the apps take a little while to load up
One happy customer!
I saw this product on the Curry’s website however delivery wouldn’t have been straight away and luckily I checked Amazon and seen that I could get it the next day on prime! Amazing purchase, mainly used for gaming on my PS4 and also watching telly and my little one also enjoys watching baby tv on there! Picture quality is amazing and also has a feature than can use your photos from your phone as a screensaver on there which I absolutely love, happy all around!
Excelle
Our other TV died so we bought this to replace it. Picture quality is very good. Price was good. I would recommend this TV
Be careful what you give away for free
Bought this tv for main viewing. I was guided by price which is excellent. What I missed was the relationship between Amazon and JVC. Before accessing any of the tv stations I had to register with Amazon which was a first for me in respect of the purchase of a new tv. I was rather wary as I had to give my tv my email address and other information I wasn’t prepared for. This is obviously required to build a profile for targeted advertising but also to collect information on what programmes I have watched and who knows what else.
I though that this was rather sinister and very Big Brother like – which I don’t like. Everything is planned to deliver s large Amazon presence in programme placement for the like of Netflix and Amazon Prime. More importantly I feel I have set myself up to be monitored by the largest private, unregulated foreign retail company and data gatherer in the this country.
Since I felt rather used by all of this, and angry with myself for not doing any real research. To deflect from this and put my mind at ease, I have now taken to purchasing a VPN that protects my email address and location by routing through several servers instead of the one direct link.
The supplier Currys means I have an on street retailer location for reference should I have problems with the JVC set, which is still good value and top performance, Just be aware of what you give away.

Smarter than your average TV
We were so pleased with our JVC fire tv, it’s so easy to assemble the picture quality is much better than we expected and the remote is super easy to use .
Our TV was delivered the next day of ordering and left in our safe place. thank you very much
🙂
I read so many differing reviews on here about this tv but in the end I just thought what the hell just buy it and I’m actually so glad I did! It has so many smart features and the Alexa voice control is amazing! The picture quality is sharp and clear although I did have an instance while watching HAYU when I thought there was something wrong with it because the picture was so grainy, it actually turns out that HAYU content isn’t 4K compatible so take note! Everything else I’ve watched has been perfect. No lagging, no slowness just a super fast experience! I have no problem recommending this quality budget tv, nothing feels budget about it only the price.
You get a lot for the price
I had to return and request a refund on the tv which I purchased though Amazon due to it arriving with the box damaged resulting in a cracked screen. On looking online I was able to get the same 43″ tv from Curry’s at the same price which meant I didn’t have further delays in replacing my LG 3D tv that had the backlights fail.
I was surprised how light this TV was compared to my LG. As such, handling it will require a bit more care to avoid any potential screen damage. It’s easy to set up but be prepared to spend about 30 minutes while the TV does its latest software updates. Picture quality, apps and features are good. Alexa built in enabling you to use voice commands to control many aspects of the TV however it’s not perfect as some voice commands fail to work yet other voice commands add to the ease of switching channels, searching a film category etc. The remote is well laid out and functions well. I have not been able to check the 4K UHD features on it as my Shy Q minibox in my office room doesn’t do UHD, only HD, unlike the main Sky Q satellite box!
In all, I am very happy with this TV and the price makes it an extremely good buy.

Looks good 👍 plenty of features.
Very pleased with this TV
Great plcture. All the functions you would expect from a smart TV. Wonderfully slim. Great sound. The remote is small – so much nicer than those big remotes with buttons most of us never use. Linked to my Amazon account at purchase which made set up a breeze. A TV is not something I usually get excited about but this one is pretty fabulous!
This is a Fire TV so it’s Smart featuregs very similar to Amazon Fire Stick. Very responsive and excellent for the price. I would have given it 5 stars but for the difficulty I had setting it up. I have Sky tuned to all my TVs via analog coax cables, using magic eyes to control the Sky box remotely. It took a long frustrating time to discover this TV only has a digital tuner – no analog. Eventually overcame the problem by running a HDMI cable from the Sky box (top floor) down 2 floors to the new TV on the ground floor. All is well now!

it can take a while to log o
The main disappointment we have found is that we cannot set up a programme time
Great value
Great value for money. Really happy with this smart TV
Love i
Works well although as many reviews state, you have to turn of the auto brightness function or its like a disco while watching some scenes. I nearly returned the TV till i made the right adjustment.
Last update improved its functionality too. Although would be nice if it was obvious how to reprogram the 4 “quick select” buttons, which I believe is possible but I haven’t managed yet.
An info button also wouldn’t hurt to see whats is on-screen without having to enter menus – which turn the program off. Also recording to a usb would have been nice.
Works better than the last 3 smart tv’s i have owned.
Some of the SD picture quality is blurry, but cant prove thats the TV, its size or something else. Fine on HD.
Overall, at least 95% happy with it.

JVC Fire Tv
This is a good TV. Easy to set up with your existing Amazon account, what I don’t like it won’t render games properly on the xbox one x, as you go into settings on your xbox it won’t run at 4k, although it is a 4k tv, it will only let the xbox set to 1080. Although a good TV,it is not good for gaming in my opinion.
Good/great deal
I got this tv as my outdated non-smart tv was driving me insane. If you’re a prime user the Home Screen is very similar to the prime video layout so it should be an easy transition.
Only slight bug bear is the delay of switching between apps at times is slow and could be smoother but for the price I think it’s a great deal.
Has all the apps I’d want as well.
Amazing
I love everything about it, so glad my sons persuaded me to get a bigger one keeps.me out of trouble always something to find on it ,picture and sound brillia
Excellent TV providing everything you could want.
This Tv is brilliant easy to use via the remote with excellent picture quality so much clearer than the old one. Set up was quick and although stand not used as we wall mounted it, the TV was light and easy handle during the mounting. Tv has all the modern day features as all the family are happy. Would highly recommend.
Good value , nice picture and sound.
Good sound, loads of smart features, very pleased with this t.v.
Great buy
Absolutely love this TV! Arrived early. So easy to set up and I’m a bit of a techniphobe! Great picture, great sound, great smart tv. The 50 inch screen fits perfect on my chimney breast. Great value for money.
WOW
The best television ever,
you can easily download all apps you need, very fast with internet
works with Alexa
Easy
So far so good it was easy to set up
im happy with it but it did have xbox setup issues
he freeview image is average but streaming and gaming is Crystal clear
had some issues getting xbox series x working in 4K it kept going back to 1080p after trying to chang the display.. the fix is to go into the tv settings and change port to HDMI 2.0
also its 60hz not 50hz

I bought this tv from Curry’s rather than Amazon which is why I’m not a verified purchaser but you will be able to see from the accompanying photos that I do own this tv. I have had this television since September last year so been using it for a while now and this review is based on my experience over that time. The model I have is the 43″ version.
The TV is designed and manufactured by, Turkish budget TV maker, Vestel. DSG simply license the JVC name from the Panasonic corporation, contract out production to Vestel and sell products through Curry’s and their Amazon store. This TV has nothing to do with the JVC of old that many people will remember as a quality brand from decades ago. I point this out because I think it is important to view this TV in the context of what it actually is, a cheapish budget tv, and set your expectations accordingly. Don’t let the use of an old trusted brand name from the past fool you into thinking it is something that it isn’t. That said Vestel also make most non-OLED Panasonic sets sold in Europe and Toshiba tv’s as well, so they are a pretty major player in the market these days. If you read reviews of entry level Panosonic models which are closely related to this product but sell for much more you will see that they share many of the same issues.
So firstly, this is a Fire TV and heavily embedded in the Amazon echo system which is not for everyone but that is pretty much obvious before you buy it. The Home Screen, OS and navigation will be familiar with anyone who owns a fire stick. I think this is fair enough but I think it is important to point out that because they have attempted to integrate the freeview channel list into the bottom of the Home Screen this tv does not have Freeview Play making do with standard Freeview without Play. The lack of Freeview Play I think is a definite disappointment given that most TVs at the same price point do have that feature. As mentioned in other reviews, because the emphasis is on navigation via the Fire Home Screen, the built in Freeview EPG is also very basic compared to what I’ve seen on other TV’s and there is also a huge time lag when changing between channels. That said once you adjust the picture settings to your preferences the picture quality when watching HD channels via Freeview is pretty good and I think the comments about the colour looking ‘washed out’ made by some other reviewers are a bit unfair. However, the upscaling of standard definition channels leaves a lot to be desired with the picture having a blurry feel to it. Much worse than the SD picture on my ten year old Samsung I had before this but then the old TV had a native resolution of 1080pi whereas this is a 4K display meaning SD images are further away from the native resolution and so harder to upscale. I believe that poor upscaling of SD output is a common issue with cheap 4K tv’s and given that I only paid 329 for this set then it’s possibly a bit unfair to expect any better.
As referenced by multiple other reviewers the operating system does crash or start to run slowly on a regular basis. At least once or twice a week in my experience. Switching the tv on and off at the mains always fixes the issue so I would only class this as a minor annoyance myself. In fact I think we need to remember that smart tv’s have a lot in common with other Android devices such as smart phones and tablets which also crash quite frequently. So nothing to get too upset about.
The screen does also suffer from minor but noticeable light bleed in the corners of the screen.
The play back of UHD content is were this TV really comes in to its own in my opinion. Most importantly there is support for Dolby Vision which makes a great difference to picture quality of supported content on cheaper 4K sets like this one, with relatively low contrast and peak brightness levels, when compared to those with just standard HDR or HDR10. Dolby Vision adapts to the abilities of the TV to produce a stunning picture when playing back supported content in Netflix. Most Netflix original shows are available in Dolby Vision. For a TV of this price I think 4K output is as good it better than I could have hoped for. Picture shake is also far less of a problem than on my friends similar priced Hisense Roku tv by comparison when streaming.
The tv does also support HLG broadcasts which should help to make it future ready and means that you scan stream UHD content vie iPlayer. This is a bounds for the price but I would say that HLG streams I have watched were a bit disappointing compared to standard UHD and Dolby Vision playback. I recently streamed a few Euro2020 football matches in this format via the iPlayer app and found that the picture was much darker than the standard HD broadcast picture, so much so it was often hard to watch as a result. I understand this is because this tv only has peak brightness of 350 knits whereas the high end tv’s that it was really designed for have a peak output of 1000 knits plus. Therefore, to compensate for its lack of brightness, it seems, this set has been engineered to make the bulk of the picture look darker in order to use its peak brightness for the brightest highlights of the picture. In practice it’s a pretty poor compromise and exposes the limits of this Fire TV.
The sound quality of the internal speakers as with virtually every other flatscreen tv I have ever seen is pretty poor. I think you just have to accept that with flat screen tv’s a sound bar is an absolute must.
I would also say that whilst I understand that the remote has been modelled on the remote for the Fire stick with a numerical keypad added underneath, it is very small for a television remote. This means that the numbers are very small and I think some older people may struggle to change channel as a result. A bigger remote with more keys to reduce navigation would definitely have been an improvement in my opinion.
The benefit of the tv using Fire OS as opposed to the proprietary systems used by many smart tv’s is that it does make it easier to side load additional apps that you would not otherwise have access to. This is a definite bonus.
In conclusion I am reasonably pleased but not delighted with this television. I think that for its price it is a good TV for watching HD content via my TiVo box and for streaming HD and 4K content on Netflix, Amazon Prime and other similar apps. However, if you intend to mainly watch over the air tv via the built in Freeview tuner then this probably isn’t the right tv for you.
Best purchase
Absolutely over the moon with the TV. Picture quality second to none and the smart features are brillia
Good tv but could be bette
What I like about this JVC 4k tv is that there is so many apps on it and the size of it perfect for my bed room.
The picture is good for the price but no way as good as my Samsung tv in the lounge I paid twice as much.
The dislikes for the JVC tv that there is no bbc red button text on in which I do not under stand cos JVC remote has the text button on it but red button it self work. my Hisense tv was even worst that it did not have red button text or red button.the The other thing I do not like on the JVC is I can not seem able to set a timer event on any of the channels apart for that this tv is good for the money.

Basically happy but a few niggles
This was very easy to set up and for a change the instruction manual was very informative instead of the usual 2 page leaflet. The picture is good although not entirely happy with sound being operated by smart as it can suddenly go very loud according to what is happening. One thing I thought was very poor is the Alexa remote; do not particularly like using Alexa as it only works sometimes and can take longer than doing it yourself and it is very flimsy and hard to use.
Avoid
Good picture and sound, if you fiddle around with settings. However upscaling is awful so non-HD channels look pretty awful.
So many downsides- software just doesn’t work properly so TV sometimes refuses to turn on, freezes, or won’t connect to hotspot.
Doesn’t do HDD recording onto memory stick, there’s no previous channel button, you can’t reorder channels. Annoying info banner, stays on much too long.
So fed up with it after eight months have gone back to my seven year old Sony. All in all I just wouldn’t recommend- suggest you avoid.

Wonderful TV and excellent smart features
I bought this “USED – LIKE NEW” at 330 and I am majorly impressed. It was easy to setup and we hung it on the wall using “VonHaus 26-55 Inch Tilt TV Wall Bracket – Tilting Mount for VESA Compatible Screens, 40kg Weight Capacity” also from Amazon.
The picture quality is perfectly clear and the smart features are wonderfully user-friendly. To put it into perspective, my mum can’t operate most tech and even she finds it a joy to use. I highly recommend this product!
Tv
Everything is great picture is not as good as other 4k TVs a have seen but all in all good buy
Easy fix to lag problems
Another of reviews say about the time lag. This is an easy fix ,just clear the cache in settings on all apps. It will be like a different TV.
Great all in one
Internal storage isn’t great so can’t download top many apps at once time.
Easy to follow and great delivery time
This is an easy set up as my wife set it up herself well impressed
Great purchase
Debated over whether or not to get this TV for some time. I’ve now had it for over about a month and it’s worked like a dream!
First smart TV
This smart tv was very easy to set up. Has an excellent picture quality with very good sound quality.
Amazing quality for the price
Picture quality is amazing, and you can really tell the difference when watching in UHD. Alexa works well, but some features on the Echo work better and you can’t use the tv to ‘drop in’, the TV is awesome and would highly recommend!
Quick, simple & easy to use!
Having previously ordered a TV from somewhere else that wouldn’t connect to the internet and proved a nightmare to return….. this was a dream. It arrived the next day, connected first time and sooooo easy to use. I love having everything on one set of controls and Alexa is great for all my childrens’ clever questions. The sound quality isn’t the best and that’s the main reason for a 4 star not 5 star rating. Overall i love the TV, all the functions and it’s so easy to use.
Good multifunclion TV
Early days but nice unit with good picture and a host of useful apps. Especially useful in that it includes apps for both Prime and Netflix
This review is based on the 55″ version.
Let’s start with why it doesn’t get 5 stars overall.
As with many TVs, the sound from this is mediocre at best. It has decent spacious separation but severely lacks bass. On its own that wouldn’t be enough to drop a star but the remote lacks most of the basic functionality you’d find on pretty much any other tv.
In essence this is a 4K Firestick with a 55″ screen attached and the remote is basically an Alexa remote. What that means is, anything you would expect to be able to do from a tv remote basically needs to be done through the fire tv menu system and homepage, which can be a bit of a minor annoyance at times.
Now for the good bits.
On first use the picture quality seems disappointing but with a bit of tweaking and a few hours running in its actually very good.
Blacks are black and the colours are natural. Watching football in 4K works seamlessly and it handles 4K action movies capably. The same applies to 1080p. The difference between SD and HD tv channels is really noticeable on this tv. I think this is probably due to the tv tuner being basically an android app decoding the signal rather than a Hardware decoder on a regular smart tv. Of course it’s also a big screen so is going to highlight the limitations of SD more than a smaller screen would. Don’t get me wrong, SD channels aren’t bad, I just notice the limitations more on this tv than I do on my Panasonic 50″.
If you’re a Firestick or fire tv owner you’ll be very familiar with the interface; it’s identical. One feature I do like is that if you setup your favourite tv channels the logos are displayed on the homepage in the same way as apps and movies etc and moving across them tells you what’s on now without needing to open the guide or switch to live tv. Channel changes aren’t instant but the delay is acceptable.
There are pretty much as many inputs as you could possibly want and of course it has the digital audio outputs. So back to the sound quality.
I have it hooked up Via optical to a Bose lifestyle 535 which doesn’t have atmos, but is tuned to the room and the sound output from the tv has left me pleasantly surprised.
Stick a movie on and it reproduces crisp clear mids with deep rounded bass. It sounds realistic with none of the muddiness and indiscriminate rumbling you get from a lot of tvs. Switch to amazon music and it’s every bit as good.
Is this tv perfect? No. But here’s the thing
If this was a 1000 tv it would get 3 stars because it does most things capably and outputs sound to an external system well.
But this is a 55″ tv with a ton of features that handles everything capably and outputs sound well for less than 350!
Give me a few more features direct from the remote and it would get 5 stars any day of the week at that price.
Best TV iv had
Really amazing picture quality and great tv I wish I’d have got a bigger one though but totally my own doing just an amazing TV
Excellent for the price
Lovely TV that does everything that I need. Easy to set up. Very quick delivery and very happy with purchase.
Great value for money. Easy to use and set up
Easy installation, set up and use. Took about 45 minutes to connect all other systems wired and Bluetooth. No issues what so ever. Thank you
Good buy
Bought for elderly parents during lockdown as there tv broke down, all I can say is it’s easy to use, my mother loved elexa feature as she has bad eyesight and finds changing channel and volume so just talking to remote does it for her all in all a good buy
Difficult to beat for the price
I have the 40 inch model, which I bought for a bedroom. The size is probably overkill, but this is the perfect secondary TV for a bedroom etc. The integrated Fire TV is great, if slightly sluggish at times, but it makes up for that in the breadth of content available. It’s also very easy to sideload Android apps from other sources, meaning you can stream just about any content.
The picture is pretty good, although being LCD, you’re never going to get perfect blacks. I also found some of the advanced picture controls were disabled when running apps (only accessible for the tuner or HDMI inputs), so it’s not simple to make fine adjustments to picture quality. As such, I probably wouldn’t recommend it for the hardcore home cinema enthusiast. But as a second TV, or if you simply don’t care about having a perfect cinema-like experience, then it’s incredible value.

Good picture but slow to respond to remote
Picture very good, but TV very slow to respond to remote control. Can take a few seconds to respond, therefore I often think its not going to work. This TV is being used as a PC monitor so I rarely use it in TV mode. If this had been for my main TV I would have sent it back.
Great TV in many ways. The 4k screen looks great, amazing picture quality when watching 4k content and even HD content. If you are accustomed to a 1080p or 720p TV, you will really see a difference.
The integrated ‘fire’ smart features work really well, and you have easy access to netflix, disney + and of course prime video and amazon music. Actually having the music app on the TV is really good, I didn’t think I would use it as much as I do. There are lots of apps available too, more than I have seen on other smart TVs. Plus it can all be controlled via your voice.
I’d love to be able to give this tv 5 stars, but unfortunately I can’t as it has one issue that will be a problem for many. Switching from the smart features to live TV takes so long it is actually a bit ridiculous. So does changing from one TV channel to another. I actually use a set top box to watch live TV so it doesn’t bother me but if I regularly watched freeview on this TV I’m sure it would get really annoying really quickly. But if you have a set top box to watch live TV on, or you just really care about the smart features, then this TV is amazing.
So, to sumerize, this TV has so many positives that, for the price, its a real bargain. If you watch TV through a set top box, then definitely get this great TV. If you want to watch freeview on this TV, unfortunately you might find it a frustrating experience.
Purchased the exact same TV from Currys as amazon had sold out!
40" model as a second TV
Bought this as our second TV packed in. Had a 4k fire stick on that so thought this tv was 300 and came with fire built in so Id have a stick for kitchen TV. Sould is really good (for a flat screen) and picture is really good too even in 4k. (have no aerial connected so its all online tv stuff). love the remote as the fire TV not having coloured buttons or numbers was a right pain in certain situations. Its slim and looks ok for the price. Definitely a good value second TV. Can see my ring cameras on it too which is great.

Worth the Money so fa
Well, this TV is definitely well worth the money as it has worked flawlessly so far but it can glitch sometimes when you first switch it on.
Definitely recommend it though as it is well worth the money, but maybe I’ll update this review in 3 months as I am yet to fall in love with the TV as I haven’t had it long enough.
Blown away with the tv for the price! Incredible
Absolutely over the moon with this TV that I bought another one for my dads birthday. The speakers also are really good no need for a soundbar. So happy with this purchase. Well done jvc and amazon. The remote control also is really nea
Easy setup, light weight, screen with good quality.
Good Quality TV, easy setup at first time. Screen quality also brilliant with this price. Very light for 55in, can be installed on wall by a person. Like it very much.
Amazing TV - ignore bad reviews
Fantastic TV esp for the price of 259.99.
Having firetv in built is genius and what I’ve been waiting for as now I don’t need to buy a separate firestick.
Putting the TV stand on was a bit difficult as the instructions as very basic, but I got there in the end.
Setting up the fire tv and live TV is very quick and easy. It remembers some of my apps that I have on my firestick, so just have to download the apps.
It’s just like having a firestick and you can download apps from unknown sources via the downloader app, so can download all sorts of apk’s.
The remote is slick, thankfully not massive like some remotes of TVs, and this shows it doesn’t have to be so big. It’s slightly bigger than a firestick remote.
It’s great that you don’t have to change the output device to get live TV. It’s just underneath “your apps”.
Live TV is fine for me, maybe a tad slow, but I can live with that.
Alexa is just as fantastic as my firestick Alexa. Word of advise – to get certain radio stations to work via Alexa, you need to download the radio player app and tuneIn app, otherwise won’t work via alexa. You can tell Alexa to tune into TV channels you want to watch and it will goto the channel.
It switches off fine with the power button, but won’t switch on, but if you push the mic button it switches on.
Only had the TV for one day, but so far very impressed. Bought from currys that price matched it to 259.99.

Smashing
Bought as offers Prime (I am Prime member) & a friend added me to her Netfix ! Bingo. Everything u need. 40 ” big enough for my front room & didn’t want one that completely dominates the room.
First purchased is TV back in January straight out the box was reasonably easy to set up working perfectly right up until 3 days ago which is now the 21st of march 2020 had flickering in the standby mode and half screen and multi-coloured issues a definite malfunction I noticed Amazon and because I have missed the return day they would not even repair it I was told that the interface was done by Currys but the telly was made by Amazon looking back now I would buy anybody not to buy this TV maybe not TV’s fault definitely Amazon spot and this issue is definitely not over with

Great Value Smart TV but..
Great picture, ok sound (so using a sound bar), but integrated Firestick is the real bonus. All wrapped up in a bargain price. One thing to note is, I have failed to bring the TV out of standby with Alexa, it controls it fine when the TV is on and turns it off ok. But when the TV is in standby Alexa does not connect to turn it on, I suspect the Corded NIC and WiFi adapter in the TV get powered down when in standby. Small quibble but otherwise great value TV!

Better than I expected
For the price, this is a bargain, is at its best when connected to my PS4 pro, games look stunning, tho the smart side can be a bit sluggish at times, might be down to my slow internet connection, my Alexa echo can turn on and off the TV, would’ve been nice to be able to have full functionality with the Echo, for those times I can’t find the remote.
Another minus is the lack of physical controls/buttons on the tv, pretty having with the TV overall
does as advertised
A very good cheep television that does what you require
Great price for the quality of the tv and features
We had an old Toshiba that was state of the art 28 yrs ago. Just started to lose the picture . So getting a new one now. Is no comparison. But I like all the features this offered for the price. As I think technology moves so quick and nothing is built to last a long time. This price was very good. It has so much on there we only just learning all of it. The picture quality is clear. I got a sound bar to boost the sound quality. On normal tv mode. Would recommend this tv.
JVC FireTV Edition A-
Love this telly, purchased at currys, good sound and picture. Fits well with our integrated set up. One small flaw is the tv guide lags sometimes but this is more to do with the freeview play app. Very impressed, great price.

Do recommend.
Undoubtedly beyond expectations. I upgraded to this TV after suffering with a bland, cheap flatscreen for over 2 years.
The picture quality is immense, echo integrarion with Alexa is a formidable force to utilise, and the sound is brilliant.
excellent value for money
initial order was damaged in transit so had to be replaced. Next one ideal – bought for elderly parents and found it easy to set up (with the help of a 14yr old!) features as described – alexa feature brilliant – older parents struggled initially to navigate around the features but will in time – remote very small for those with difficulty reading
Everything in one place, excellent TV
Arrived next day in good condition. Set up and installation was very quick and easy. Picture and sound quality is very good. With Amazon Fire and Netfix all built in everything is all in one place, no extra boxes or cables needed. Great buy.
Integrated Fire Stick
I am very impressed with this TV for the price. It is especially good having all the fire stick apps included and is so easy to use. I would recommend this TV
Expected 1st TV to be broken ... it was!!
First TV arrived damaged … kind of expected it after all the reviews, second TV was fine. The TV is great value for money. Whatever is causing so many to be delivered broken needs to be reviewed and sorted. The return/refund takes ages!
Lots of features and apps
Everything as stated except for Alexis does not change HDMI settings every time. Changing stuff time consuming. But excellent value for money for what you get.
It isn’t a poor quality tv.
I brought this tv for my mum as she is used to the fire stick and can easily use the interface.
There are literally no professional reviews of this tv going around just sales blurb. I read that this is a Curry’s tv as they own JVC who use poor quality displays manufactured in Turkey. I found that a bit disconcerting. I was worried that what your paying for here is just a 4K fire stick integrated with the cheapest possible display. But that is not the case.
I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised.
The display is impressive for this price range. And holds its own with other more prestigious brands.
I tested the first episode of Hunters on amazon prime, one of the first scenes is at night outside a theatre with lots of fluorescent lighting. This popped nicely on this HDR display.
You often hear that HDR and Dolby vision isn’t that noticeable on cheaper displays with low nit brightness, but it is at least noticeable (270 nits here), which is an achievement I guess. But obviously it isn’t going to compete with higher end models. It’s adequate, satisfactory for the money I would say.
On black background you can make out the edge lighting of the panel, there is some noticeable bleeding at the corners of the display. But this isn’t noticeable playing content.
4K content looks excellent though. Blacks are strong and I doubt this tv has local dimming but for example, Every star in the background of Netflix’s ‘The Search for Life in Space’ are pin sharp with no light bleed around the edges and details are crisp and vibrant.
Build quality is decent enough, the stand is solid but there is no swivel.
Sound isn’t too bad, It’s clear with limited bass but I didn’t expect anything else tbh.
Overall I’m Not disappointed. Would recommend.
Ok so fa
So far the tv has been ok the picture is ok I would say it’s not brilliant but ok. The Alexa in the tv is ok. The fire tv is ok .

Excellent TV if you have okay Wi-Fi
Excellent product and this smart TV has an App Store so you can download any apps some smart TVs don’t have an App Store you are only able to have the apps already on the TV.
Brilliant TV for the money!
This is a superb TV for the money!
I purchased the 49″ unit from Curry’s and it has been fantastic!
I mean, granted it has a few teething issues, for example it can be a little slow sometimes when loading up apps or giving it commands, but as a pilot TV it is to be expected.
Hopefully, JVC and Amazon will regularly update the software as they have said they will to make the experience even better!
Apart from that, the television has amazing picture and a brilliant range.
Also, with 4K titles, you MUST have a good internet connection to stream in 4K
Overall, this is an amazing tv for the money with lots of handy features!
Exceptional value
An excellent TV at an exceptional price. I am very impressed with the value.
The TV is good looking despite a very slightly thicker bezel than more expensive models. I bought this to replace an elderly Samsung (with several acres of bezel), and was at first a little disappointed at what appeared to be an inferior picture, but with a little tweaking it proved to be equal to, or better than, the Samsung.
It has all the connections one could want, plus Alexa built in, thus obviating the need to use one of the four HDMI ports for a Fire TV stick. I admit to being new to so-called Smart TVs, but was impressed by how easy it was to set up, and the responsiveness of the system – flipping back and forth between live TV and apps with very little lag.
Sound is excellent — so much so that I could move my Bose soundbar to another TV.
I added a cheap internal aerial, and promptly picked up 147 Freeview channels, so the Freeview tuner certainly works well enough!
I particularly liked the central stand, which allows it to be placed on the regular sized support I was using for the previous TV. Several TVs I considered had legs at the ends of the screen, which were wider apart than the top of my existing support. Strange and seemingly unnecessary design choice.
All in all a very pleasing purchase.
Great value for money
Great value for money TV all my friends have said it’s a great picture.
As my current tv was finally starting to fail i started a search for its replacement and an upgrade to a smart tv. Didn’t want to spend a fortune and, due to the size of my living room, was initially looking for nothing bigger than a 32″ screen. Due to the limit options in that size i found this JVC available in 40″. Having read some of the reviews i was, initially, a bit sceptical but having done a bit more research decided to bite the bullet and ordered it. It arrived next day by Prime and was well packaged in the factory box. Very easy to unpack and the set up guides were very easy to follow. I had it up and running in 20 minutes, as soon as you turn it on it takes you through the whole process of connecting to the WIFI, tuning and downloading apps, very easy. The settings for this tv are brilliant in that you can individually programme each inputted device to its own required sound, picture quality etc. As a Prime subscriber this is a great purchase and compliments my other Alexa devices. For those that have chosen to leave negative reviews you’ve either been unlucky or are expecting to pay a Timex price and get a Rolex. The internet speed is good and is comparable with my Fire HD10 tablet. But most important of all is the wife thinks it looks good!
Great TV when it's not smashed to bits
Awesome in every way. Except when PDP deliver it as it was smashed to bits and I mean smashed not just a little crack. So because it was from market place I could only get a refund. So bought it elsewhere.
Decent little kit for the price!
I tell my nearest Echo dot to get the TV to turn on and off without me being in the room and my dad thinks that it’s haunted because he dos’t know it’s me doing it. MU-HAHAHA!!!
“The future is now old man!”
How easy it is to setup
I’m very pleased with this tv. I was worried that I would have a problem connecting my BT You view box. I didn’t have any problems at all. Just had to switch to the HDMI outlet I was using for it. I can ask Alexa to do this.
Overall OK.
Bit slow to startup. Not yet used Alexander however overall very pleased with the TV.
Best 4K TV, value for money
if you want a 4K TV get this one. The menu has a layout of amazon prime which is easy to use and understand. for the amount of money i payed this has change the way i watch tv and play games.
Nice television when its all set up. Be careful who you ask to help if you are not computer savvy.
I bought this television and was absolutely clueless…I paid an independent woman from Curry’s 60 to set it up and everything is great while they are there. But the problems start….A lot to do with Virgin who can be so incompetent.
All I would say is Get somebody that knows what they are doing. Its a great TV and having fun with Alexa and people do actually listen in..But have fun with it..If you have more than one box Please do not go to independent person from Currys as I forgot to tell her about my other TV’s. I gave her a brilliant review BUT NEVER AGAIN…With me I was getting a new router and that had to be tuned in…Lady was lovely but as soon as she leaves your house, you are on your own.I am 66 years of age…I was excited and of course I wanted it done ASAP. But I had other problems with Virgin. So all I can say is after one month of constant two hour phone calls to Virgin I have nearly got my equipment sorted ( apart from my landline which has been off for 2 weeks…But for the price its a nice TV.It says it is JV C but when I looked further into things it said ” MAKE UNKNOWN” so I really do not know what that is about. These days its all the same. At the time you receive a book with over 90 pages and you think Wtf? But any hubbies, handymen/ women it should be a straightforward matter…I love it now it is all working but if I had one complaint I would say ” the sound’ does not seem as good as my other JVC upstairs.I am no expert but its like anything just be careful and do not let anybody fiddle around with it…At first it seems like a nightmare ( well it did to me) but because I had ongoing probs with Virgin and their incompetence you can get really stressed..But now its all working I LOVE IT…hope that helps lol
Great High Definition and Large TV for the price
A fantastic TV for the price. I have multiple consoles running through it, including the latest and they look great. I love that you can set individual settings pet each HDMI port. I don’t watch live TV and having the ability to access the Internet and apps on my TV itself rather than the previous method of using a firestick allows me to free up a port for other devices as well a s ring more convenient. For the price the picture is beautiful, the TV (as most smart TVs) does slow down a lot if you don’t regularly manage your internal memory. So long as you can clear the caches every few weeks it is fine and remains responsive. Another handy feature is the ability to instantly throw my phone to the large screen, this is helpful when demonstrating apps to friends or streaming from mobile devices, also allowing for the streaming of consoles from room to room (you need a fast network for this and I also accomplish this on other TVs with a raspberry pi).
I live in a small flat, the size is not too overbearing and fits nicely in the corner, it does not make the room feel small as others so claim it would.

Best quality for value TV on the marke
Bought this for my daughter and set it up for her. So easy just like a Firestick, everything you could want and for such a good price. Easily the best value for money TV out there – no comparison.
Love i
Love it, great picture, sound is poo as all flat screens are, the Alexa works but is a little buggy but I’m sure amazon will do updates too sort this out but is work and for a great price. Love i
It works amazingly
I use it in my room and it was a perfect add to finish my room off, works amazingly well, I can download whatever I want on it, and great quality.
