Hope it works when if I ever need i
The key thing is that it works when it is needed and that is not something easily to test or workout. The test button is fine and makes a decent sound though. Was easy to place on the wall and hopefully it will be useful protection if I ever come to need it.

    A good purchase
When our boiler was serviced the engineer recommended a Carbon Monoxide alarm even though our boiler is in the loft. I guess we will only know if this works if we have an emergency. However based on the setup function, etc I can only say it passed the tests.

Good value, easy to set up
My old carbon monoxide detectors were not working anymore so I scoured around and did lots of research and these seem to come out on top. Very good value when you look at some of the prices.
Very easy to set up and check.

Arrived on time. nicely packaged the only thing I didn’t like about this is it didn’t sit as snud on the the ceiling but I wouldn’t fault it for that,it’s probably my diy skills still it’s a good alarm I’ve read up on a few others and didn’t like the reviews they got .some of them were going faulty . So I’m giving this alarm 4 stars.

Small unit but loud alarm. Excelle
Slim line and small unit but with an extremely loud alarm. Unit was manufactured 3 months ago so lots of life left in the 7 year replace period. Set up was easy and fast, worked first time with no issues. Test alarm could be heard throughout the property. Batteries are replaceable with no fiddly screws to access the battery compartment. Very good replacement to previous sealed unit.

    'Which' recommended alarm.
I found opening the alarm to put in the batteries a little difficult. I bought the device for use in travelling to places where the rooms have no alarms. It is of course also useful at home, and I was interested to find that when my gas boiler wass recently serviced, the engineer also tested the alarm.

    Looks Good Quality
Ordered in the evening. Delivered the following morning and installed before mid day. Test buttons work all OK so can only assume it is in good working order. Previous reviews suggest this to be the case. NB This is NOT a substitute for a smoke detector and will run along side my smoke detector in my lounge where I have a wood burning stove.

My seven year carbon monoxide detector bleeped that it needed replacing. This was ordered one day and came the next, although I did not make a special request. It arrived in time for my free bi-annual check by the fire brigade, so, although they usually deal only with smoke alarms, she very helpfully advised where to place it and actually fixed it for me.
I am now ordering another for the other multi-fuel heater.

Works well. Make sure you read the instructions about setting it up. Beeps differently to other alarms I have had and this is why people may think it doesn’t work or is broken.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is a nifty little gadget that could just safe a life
I had the plumber round the other day to look at my boiler. The hot water hasn’t been great recently and I was fed up of having lukewarm showers and baths. My boiler is quite old, maybe 20 years. It was already old when I moved into my house 9 years ago so I wasn’t too surprised when the plumber read the last rights for my gas boiler and told me it was beyond the stage that it would be economical to repair and it was going to cost many spondoolies to get a new one. Oh dear I thought. He also pointed out that I did not have a carbon monoxide monitor. I told him that there used to be one in the house but I threw it out because it kept beeping at me. He gave me a strange sideways looks and then told me in no uncertain terms that I really should have one because it could save my life one day. I pointed out that the old one have beeped because the batteries was going flat rather than any concerns about noxious emissions but he insisted that this was not a satisfactory state of affairs and he would not settle until I promised to purchase one immediately. Apparently they sell these in DIY stores and other such places but it is a bit of a chew to drive to the other side of town to spend twenty minutes trying to find the right aisle before asking someone in an orange apron only to be told they are on aisle 37 and you are on aisle 2 and then have to queue behind burly looking people with plaster splattered overalls with their over laden trolleys just to pay for your single item. I elected to go on line and this little beauty caught my eye immediately. A couple of clicks on my phone and, job done, as they say. It arrived the next day. I put the batteries in and it works straight away. I have put it right next to my gas boiler and I can now sleep at night in knowledge that it will wake me up if there is either a carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide emittance. It is made in China.

The test worked as described i.e. Press test button, one beep followed by 4 beeps, brief pause, 4 more beeps and ending with a single beep. Have to assume all working OK. I do have a number of CO2 detectors around the house both mains and battery operated and of different makes.

They’re practically identical to some kidde cm detectors I replaced, they had a service life of 7 years. These alarms state they should be replaced after 10 years and were manufactured in 2017. Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersActually works - but only with high levels of carbon monoxide
It’s always hard to know if a carbon monoxide alarm actually works. So I’m writing this review to state that mine actually went off after about 2 years of owning it, and alerted the family to something we would have been oblivious to otherwise.

I’m happy this worked when we needed it – unfortunately it happened to be at Christmas, but it’s better to be cold, safe and miserable than dead. 🙂

I recommend that as well as getting the alarm, you make sure you have the sticker up which helps to know what to do if it does go off.

Following from a visit by a gas engineer, I’ve taken off a star because there’s been a long term carbon monoxide leak which wasn’t detected by this alarm. It only went off when there were very high levels, and turned back off while there was still carbon monoxide in the room.

I’m not sure what level this is supposed to sound at, but it would be great if it was made clear that you can have carbon monoxide leaks and the alarm won’t sound.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersVery good design, simple to set-up & affordable, this Life Saver could be a life save
This CO alarm is a compact, neat design powered by 3x new AA batteries which are supplied in the box.

Screws and raw plugs are included for wall mounting, but it also stands up on its own on a high shelf. There’s a press-button to test the audible alarm is working, and in any case every 30 seconds a small green light flashes to tell you the batteries are still OK.

The manufacturer includes a leaflet with accurate medical information about the effects of exposure to carbon monoxide in stages, and the alarm will sound when it calculates the percentage of CO in the atmosphere over time reaches potentially harmful levels.

A very good product: affordable, well-designed and with a loud alarm. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersCarbon Monoxide kills, spend a few quid and be safe.
Well, after many years of not owning a carbon monoxide alarm, the other half finally said for safety it would be wise to purchase one for our bedroom.

This lifesaver alarm is an unobtrusive and cheap way to offer peace of mind and safety in case of a carbon monoxide risk.

Installing is simple as popping batteries in and you’re away, downside is it doesn’t cover gas leaks or similar but for harmful carbon monoxide it should do the job, obviously can’t say if it picks it up as luckily i don’t have a leak! 😉

I paid about 11 which isn’t too bad for what it claims to do, there’s a hefty warranty included which means it should provide safety for years to come.

This is a second purchase of one of these. The first one is still going well but we are advised to have one in our lounge too as we have an open fire. It is easy to move this alarm around as it stands up well. We also have an option to mount it on the wall. A good point is the green light that flashes on every 30s (to let you know it is working) is not intrusive which is why we chose it for the lounge. However, it is easy to press the button to ‘test’ the alarm when moving it around for dusting, etc. It did make me jump. I’ll probably wall mount it eventually. Well worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 61 From Our UsersIt definitely works!
I have now bought a 2nd one of these alarms. It is usually difficult to know if a carbonmonoxide alarm works unless one is exposed to the dangerous gas which could then be too late. In this case I installed an alarm then left my holiday house for the winter. Before doing so I parked my lawnmower out of sight in the house so that it would not be stolen outside. When I returned to the house I started up the engine to park it outdoors again and the fumes were enough to set off the co2 alarm. I am very impressed.

I bought this because of the good price. It arrived promptly and was well-packaged and seems a solid, well-made unit. It is certainly a very good idea to install one of these. It did not occur to me until my gas stove started pumping black smoke which turned out to contain carbon monoxide. I now have one in the kitchen and this new one will be in our caravan. This was a Which? Best Buy so has been thoroughly tested by Which? Looks fine. I used sticky velcro to fix it to the wall.

Works as far as I know!
Arrived quickly, easy to assemble. Stopped beeping at me once I had it set up properly. I have placed it on top of a kitchen cupboard away from the window at the advice of my Gas Engineer. Hopefully, it works or I shan’t live to tell the tale or moan at Amazon.

Golden Review Award: 111 From Our UsersVersatile fitting options
Bought this model on the recommendation of the Fire Service. It was cheaper than supermarkets or local DIY stores and arrived same-day with Prime. It can either be wall or ceiling mounted with screws or sticky pads, but it can also stand up on its own if you place it on top of a tall cupboard etc (they are supposed to be used high up). Very pleased.

Easy enough to install but when fitting to the ceiling (mine is textured), it won’t fit flush, so hangs at a slight angle. The screw ultimately digs into the battery a bit. Hard to testify to effectiveness – no CO leaks fortunately.

Appears to be doing the job of detecting carbon monoxide You just have to remember they do not detect gas leaks – only carbon monoxide as I found out when we had a serious leak last month and it stayed silent so I thought the gas leak was not happening.

    Does it work?
Have had one of these before and it lasted seven years before. I considered replacing it. Have given five stars but have no idea if it would give a warning in an emergency.

    You never know!
This is the second one of these I had, first one lasted 5 years. Just sits anomalously in the background as one of these gadgets that hopefully you’ll never need but could end up a lifesaver if things go wrong!

Really good quality, easy to set up, clear instructions. This Carbon monoxide alarm also comes with batteries and was one of the cheapest but best of all on offer. Plus it has the quality kite mark.

Golden Review Award: 65 From Our UsersSmall and compact, guaranteed for 7 years
Much smaller and neater than my old alarm from British Gas, this is battery-operated (3xAA, included), and has a 7 year warranty. It’s simple to set up, tests itself so you know it’s active, then just works. The siren is loud, and the alarm beeps when the batteries need changing – all for about a third of the British Gas price.

A little peace of mind for a little cos
Having an old boiler I was long over due for a monoxide detector and had relied on the sticker kind in the past.

Item tested fine on arrival and has a very loud alarm on it.

A little peace of mind for a little cost.

    Money well spe
Does what it’s supposed to – I have the version with the display and also this one in different areas of the house. Worth spending the money for peace of mind. Loud alarm, easy to test. This one is definitely a genuine product; it feels solid and well finished, labelling and packaging looked right. I bought a CO alarm last year that was 20% cheaper, but it looked, well, unbranded and sort of flimsy. Shortly afterwards I saw a consumer programme reporting dodgy alarms being sold online via even the reputable websites -not just the really obvious too cheap to be real products; but versions selling at just marginally less than the going rate. A couple of days later the battery went on mine – this is one of the signs of a fake CO alarm. Straight in the bin, tenner wasted. It’s just not worth taking the chance to save three or four quid.

Does the job, well regarded and good value for money
Well, I can’t say that it has saved my life, but I can certainly guarantee that is hasn’t “not” saved my life either, as can be ascertained by the fact that I’m still here to write this review (or maybe there’s some spiritual afterlife ghost reviewing going on, but let’s face it, if that was the case I’d be far more interested in hanging around in Angelina Jolie’s bedroom along with no doubt 5 million other spiritual entities).

It seems to work, it’s small, unobtrusive, loud when the test button is pressed, and good value for money compared with the older the model the gas engineering was trying to sell us.

Very loud, solid and looks well-made.
This detector is well-built, it was easy to install the batteries, and it makes a massive racket when the alarm goes off. My wife nearly jumped out of her skin when she first went to put the batteries in – it makes a loud beep straight away to let you know that it’s all working. It’s light enough that you can use sticky pads or command strips to attach it to the wall, or you could use screws if you like drilling holes in things.

Big plus – it comes with batteries! Always nice.

Don’t be tempted to use any of the indicators/detectors that will just darken when exposed to carbon monoxide – they’ll never wake you up if there’s a build up at night, which is the only time you really want this to work.

    Life saver Carbon monoxide alarm
Carbon monoxide alarm, I bought this as a travel alarm after friend had a close call on holiday, this, from now on will go everywhere with me when travelling. This alarm is free standing and wall mountable and small enough to fit into an overnight bag, I tested it as soon as it arrived and the alarm is nice and loud, just the job. its now in my overnight bag, ready to go. My advice get one, stay safe.
    Update, November 2016,
I have since bought another one of these alarms for our motorhome along with a smoke detector, another essential piece of kit while traveling.
would also be good for caravans especially where bottled gas is being used, safety doesn’t take a day off.

Easy to use and set up
Good device, easy to set up and use. The test button is a great function. It does have a light on the front which flashes every 30 seconds so if that’s going to bother you at night, its worth thinking about where to mount it in advance. it comes with wall plugs and screws to fix to the wall, or it will stand up on its own. It comes with batteries.

A small price to pay to protect your loved ones.
Easy to use and easy to install. I think every home should have one of these great devices…..It is a small price to pay to protect yourself and your family. Carbon Monoxide is a silent killer and this unit sounds a very loud alarm when it detects it in your home, giving you the time to make good your escape.
The unit’s instructions booklet is very clear and also give you a list of signs and symptoms that carbon monoxide causes in humans when exposed to it. It also lists common sources of carbon monoxide in the home.
