Everyone has an opinion – in my, this is one of the very best Lego Technic sets. Why?
Build is very interesting:
– There is very little repetition,
– Build is challenging as a lot of pieces is crammed into a very compact model,
– Gears are fantastic and quite complex to facilitate switching between many functions,
– There is lot of interesting Technic pieces
It has great play-ability factor – everything except for moving and turning is battery operated and requires gear switching – you can extend/shorten boom, lower/elevate boom, lower/elevate hook, turn crane platform 360, pull in/out stabiliser foot.
This set is great value for money too, considering complexity, amount of pieces and playability, and it looks fantastic when assembles, very solid too.
Added prefab components to play with are a nice touch.

A mi hijo le ha gustado muchsimo, tiene 13 aos y lo ha hecho en un par de semanas.
Es un producto caro pero Lego es as, tiene una calidad y unos materiales que hay que pagar.
Ich habe mir das Model gekauft, da ich schon immer ein Groes Technik Model wollte, ja das hat man bei diesem Model auf jedenfall 😉
Ich bin begeistert, der Aufbau war super spannend nicht zu leicht, schne Konstruktionen dabei, viele Zahnrder, Achsen, Getriebe und Verbindungen ach eine wahre Freude. Was mir sehr gefallen hat war das zusammenfgen von den verschiedenen Bauabschnitten, und wie diese dann zusammen gemacht werden z.B. mit Steckverbindungen usw. will nicht Zuviel verraten aber es ist ein Fest.
Man wei ja von den Rezensionen das, das Model gro ist aber beim zusammen bauen, kommt immer wieder der Moment man ist das Ding Gro.
Fr mich persnlich gibt es keinen Minuspunkt, seit Wochen freue ich mich wenn ich den Gelndegngiger Kranwagen auf dem Regal stehen sehe. Und dann muss ich ihn auch immer wieder schnappen und die Motorisierten-Funktionen wieder Testen, und bin wieder hin und weg wie alles ineinandergreift und sich alles bewegt.
Also von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung, ich schau schon nach dem nchsten Model.

Bought this for my 25 year old boyfriend and he was absolutely in love, took him about 4 days to construct it all and he is over the moon.
The only issue was one of the parts was wrong but Lego do a free service of replacing parts so it should be with him very soon!
Overall, really great little project, highly recommended.

Lego norme long construire. Enfant de 9 ans a mis longtemps le monter mais rsultat super. Mcanisme de distribution de la puissance moteur assez compliqu mais participe de l’aspect labor de l’engin. Trs grand une fois mont.

It is not easy to assemble but that was the point of buying it: to stretch him. The instructions are easy to follow. 2 months later he is still building it. As each section is in a separate bag it means he can bring sections of it with him when he comes for an overnight stay (he doesn’t live near us).
A very good addition to his lego collection.

E’ il set della technic attualmente pi grande in commercio (precedentemente era l’escavatore da miniera), vista la complessit (ed il costo) sicuramente orientato per un pubblico pi maturo.
Il set composto da 4057 pezzi che vi assicuraranno lunghe ore di costruzione.
Buona fortuna a trovare una vetrinetta da esposizione che lo possa contenere mentre la gru totalmente estesa.

ein wirklich toller kran, unser sohn spielt kaum noch mit anderen sachen,
der aufbau ist etwas kompliziert, man muss sich unglaublich konzentrieren, mussten 2 mal den halben kran wieder zurckbauen, weil wir einen minimalen fehler gemacht haben, beim dritten anlauf hat es dann aber geklappt :-))

Che dire, un gran bel modello, ingegnerizzato in modo spettacolare.
Il problema proprio questo. Una volta montato pressoch indistruttibile, ci sono talmente tanti incastri e giunti tridimensionali che non si stacca pi nulla ed oggettivamente molto difficile anche per un adulto apportare modifiche. I modelli di qualche anno fa si rompevano molto pi facilmente ma proprio per questo erano pi “giocabili”, perch si imparava molto nel cercare di riparare il danno senza consultare le istruzioni di montaggio. E dopo un po’ di tempo finivano inevitabilmente nel bidone dei LEGO insieme altri migliaia di pezzi, pronti per nuove avventure creative.
Ora sono delle riproduzioni molto accurate, ma una volta montati diventano dei soprammobili pressoch eterni…

Wir haben schon diverse tolle LT-Modelle. Das ist ebenso klasse, stabil und schn gro.

Das Paket war gut gepackt, der Karton hat keine Schden.
Fr mich als Lego-Anfnger hat es 16 Stunden gedauert ihn aufzubauen und jede Minute hat Spa gemacht.
Das auseinanderbauen hat wieder 5 Stunden gedauert.
Wenn man mit den riesigen Reifen selbst etwas bauen mchte, muss man natrlich in entsprechend groem Mastab bauen, was mir als Anfnger etwas zu schwer ist. Dafr habe ich mir auch deutlich kleinere Modelle gekauft. Aber mit diesem groen Kran hat man eine gute Basis an Technikbausteinen, mit denen man viel anstellen kann.
Was die Funktionen angeht; diese lassen sich nur nacheinander bettigen, weil alles ber einen einzigen Motor luft und entsprechend Zahnrder umgestellt werden. Dadurch muss man z.B. erst etwas Seil lassen, um den Kran dann ausfahren zu knnen, weil sonst das Seil zu kurz ist und nicht automatisch etwas ausgelassen wird.

La costruzione del modello ha permesso a due coniugi non pi giovani di passare giornate di grande divertimento. Modello perfettamente funzionale, ormai smontato con grande cura e pronto per essere passato ai nipoti..
Rewarding build
This was an enjoyable if complex build. The number of functions powered by just one motor are amazing.. Oh it’s very large, too!
For the inner child
Never too old to start buying LEGO. I’m in my 60’s and this is the first LEGO set I have had since before my teens. Bought it to do over Christmas, and the fun lasted for 2 weeks. The only downside was that I had to go to IKEA, a long trip, to buy a cheap shelf to display it on.
Will be getting the Rough Terrain Crane for build this Christmas, which means I shall be buying another shelf between now and then..
Ho “giocato” con il Lego Technic fin credo verso i 18 anni, inventandomi di tutto con parti meccaniche e pneumatiche (motori V8 con distribuzione, frizioni e cambio, compressori alternativi, funivie, aerei). Poi ho smesso e ho fatto ingegneria meccanica. Poi diventi babbo e torni bimbo. Me lo sono regalato e ho passato diverse serate di questo inverno godendo in maniera commovente. Questa gru bellissima e veramente ricca di funzioni e cinematismi anche complessi, oltrech “bellissimamente” enorme! Gli unici difetti che trovo sono l’assenza di sospensioni (sarebbe stata il top) e una certa mancanza di rigidezza del telaio, nonostante certe ridondanze di connessioni a volte secondo me eccessive (per assurdo credo si faccia prima a costruirla che a smontarla). I luoghi comuni che dicono che Lego fa pezzi sempre pi monoblocco pi facili da montare (cio costituiti da meno mattoncini pi piccoli) totalmente falso: rispetto a tanti anni fa ha una miriade di varianti di pezzi in pi che non fanno altro che arricchire le possibilit di costruzione

Amazing set - details and engineering combined - BIG.
This is an enormous set. Whats remarkable is that despite it’s size, it’s sturdy and robust, working very well in terms of function. Really aimed at the older or adult builder, it’s a very enjoyable build, though takes some time to get completed. The power functions are fairly basic, but well executed in the model, using a similar selection mode used in previous technic sets to make a single more do multiple functions.
Brilliant fun throughout and a real show piece model at the end.

Anche con questo kit Lego non si smentisce. Il divertimento assicurato. Il modello finale dettagliato e ha moltissime funzioni, inoltre il kit della linea Technic con il maggior numero di pezzi mai prodotto dalla casa danese. Super divertente come sempre da assemblare e da usare. Super consigliato anche agli appassionati dei blocchetti da costruzione. Un modello che non pu mancare in una collezione che si rispetti.

finalement facile à construire
Mon fils de 9 ans avait dj fait le Volvo Zeus, celui ci a t mont en une quinzaine d’heures. Il manquait deux pices, heureusement trs courantes, qu’il a rcupr facilement sur un petit lego technic. A part deux ou trois hurlements quand des erreurs ont t constates et qu’il a fallu un peu dmonter, fiston s’est clat et utilise ce “monstre” pour transporter et construire avec des briques.
Il set davvero fantastico, partendo dalla scatola che si presenta davvero bene (se fate un regalo l’effetto non pu che essere da wow!).
Il montaggio non scontato, nella prima parte di ingranaggi si deve stare attenti a non commettere errori (ma per me il bello di set cos importanti).
Per ora sono quasi a met della costruzione e devo dire che sono davvero contento. Ci si mette molte ore a completare la costruzione e per chi adulto come me consiglio di fare un sacchetto alla volta e godersi il “gioco”.
Sicuramente ottimo prodotto, anche in considerazione del prezzo che per il numero di mattoncini nella scatola fa risultare il set tra i pi convenienti.

If your son is a Technic crazed Lego builder this will keep him busy for a few days. This set is truly outstanding, it has close to 4057 pieces and is an impressive Crane when fully built. Do not let the price put you off, this is worth every penny at the current price.
You get allot of pieces, intricate pieces at this price and Lego are excellent at replacing pieces if things go a miss. This build took my son three days, of roughly 7-8 hours a day, carefully putting it together, it is a challenging build and he really enjoyed building it. He mentioned how great the instructions are and that most children around 10+ should be fine building this as long as they have built Technic models before.
The large motor means you can control the crane arm to pick items up. There is so much detail in this build, it is truly astounding. The thought into this model is brilliant. The functions and actions are 4-wheel steering,4-wheel drive, detailed V8 engine and moving pistons with a nice orange fan.
When you have finished the build it does look impressive and moves well, any teenager would love this set. It really helps the child think and build other vehicles and structures. As with most of the Lego sets this is 2-in-1 and you can go online and build the other set if you so wish. So, it is a bargain when you think about it in this sense.

Le istruzioni come sempre sono precise e affidabili, la suddivisione dei pezzi in vari pacchetti indispensabile quando ci sono 4057 pezzi. 5 parti completamente motorizzate: discesa e salita gancio, estensione braccio, movimento del braccio, stabilizzatori e rotazione della parte superiore. Lo sterno rimane manuale. Rifiniture eccezionali.
Loads of lifting
This must be one of the, if not the outright, largest Technic sets LEGO have ever produced. Weighing in at over 4000 pieces I was really pleased to see that this didn’t just mean that the model was very detailed, but that it is also HUGE. I like my LEGO models to live up to their box size and that was no problem for the rough terrain crane. I also must give credit to LEGO for the overall look of the vehicle, the design of Technic sets has come a long way over the years and this looks ‘finished’ rather than a form of cutaway of a recognisable vehicle.
The build is quite lengthy and obviously a little fiddly in places, going at about an hour at a time on most days it took me a couple of weeks to complete assembly. Putting together the multiple detailed sections was both interesting and satisfying, in particular the engine, with its moving pistons. It’s not for the faint-hearted due to the time and concentration involved, I highly recommend a smaller Technic set to ‘warm up’ before you have a go at this monster.
The power functions are easy to set-up and work well. Using the crane to pick up and move the included pre-fab building sections is a cool inclusion. The one thing which surprised me is that the model doesn’t accurately resemble its name, there is no working suspension and although the wheels and tyres are massive, moving the crane over anything other than a flat floor isn’t great as the model is very rigid. This is a minor quibble, but bearing in mind the obvious attention which has been put into the model generally it’s surprising.
You also get full instructions to create a pile driver instead of the crane, which is a nice 2-in-1 inclusion from LEGO but I confess I haven’t tried to assemble the second model yet.
Considering its size, complexity, functionality and piece count, I think the Rough Terrain Crane is pretty good value. There is a lot to be got out of it regardless of whether you are a huge Technic fan so well worth a look.

We have not yet finished building the crane but based on the sections so far completed it’s absolutely fabulous. So many realistic moving parts it’s not easy, more a challenge. I have never been interested in Lego but this has captured me.

Dieses Set hat mir bisher von allen Technik-Set’s am meisten Spa beim Aufbauen gemacht (Lego Fan seit ber 35 Jahren).

Abwechslungsreicher Aufbau, und tolle Mechanik.
Was etwas schade ist, dass Lego wieder gespart und dem Kran nur einen Motor spendiert hat.
Auch das gelndegngig” in der Bezeichnung ist etwas deplatziert, weil keinerlei Federung an der/den Aufhngung/Achsen stattfindet.
Die beweglichen Spiegel” nochmal extra als Funktion” zu erwhnen ist ebenfalls mehr als lcherlich…

Es ist und bleibt das Set, dass mir am meisten Spa beim Bauen beschert hat und bekommt daher die volle Punktzahl!

Tolles Teil – zweifelsohne. Aber Papa oder Mama sollten aufpassen, wenn der Sprssling (unser war zum Zeitpunkt des Zusammenbaus 11) mit der Montage beginnt! Nach mehreren Tagen Aufbauarbeit stellte sich heraus, dess die Rder dank des ausgeklgelten, jedoch falsch zusammengesetzten, Zahnradsystems GEGENEINANDER liefen. Das musste der Papa dann richten – zum Glck erfolgreich 😉

Great build. Good value for money with power functions. A lot of work building it which is the best part. For people who just want to build rather than play.
Only negative point would be I thought it would have a hook so it could pick up more things rather than just the supplied panals.
J’en suis mon 6me lego technic et je suis toujours extrmement satisfait par ces modles.
A l’ouverture du carton de presque 6 kg, on tombe directement sur les roues de 9 cm de diamtre de cette grue, ce qui donne dj une ide de la taille de l’engin. Nul doute sur les heures qui m’attendent pour ce montage mais aussi sur l’extrme plaisir une fois termin.
En esprant qu’il ne manquera pas des pices dans ce modle en comportant 4057 !
Pour rappel, s’il manque des pices dans un set neuf, il suffit d’aller sur le site lego qui envoie gratuitement lesdites pices sur simple demande.
A noter aussi la possibilit de construire un modle diffrent, une grue “marteau-pilon” (le guide de montage se trouve sur le site de la marque en fichier pdf).
P.S. : je n’enlve pas d’toile pour l’valuation mais le trs gros point noir tant la livraison Chronopost : carton jet ngligemment par dessus le portail, cras et trou.

Great build. Two thick books of instructions. All family did bits of it. Loved the gearboxes which let the one motor do several different things. Well worth the price but note I bought it at about 110 ish I think.

Faszinierend
Nach wirklicher “Kleinteileschlacht” entsteht ein wirklich voll funktionierender und verhltnismig stabiler Kran.
Die Sttzplatten etwas erhht, hebt er auch ab. Kein Grund zum Punktabzug fr mich. Und Preis/Leistung passt im Vergleich zu anderen Modellen absolut.

Unser Sohn (10 Jahre) ist absolut begeistert. Er baut schon seit lngerem Modelle von Lego. Jetzt wollte er sich an den Kran herantrauen. Trotz aller bedenken die wir am Anfang hatten, luft es mit dem bauen sehr gut. Man muss nur schauen das sehr genau gearbeitet wird.
Einfach schn zu sehen wie der Kran jeden Tag etwas wchst…

Got this for me as something to build but also use the components to try building other things with. Took about 12 hours to build and the end result is huge! It is impressive the way these kits are designed and the functionality that is built in. I think it is good value given the number of parts. It would be nice if there was an option to add remote control for drive and steering but I may try and add that myself at some point. Had to disassemble it and that took about 8 hours including separating the small parts. Looking forward to building the alternative model next time.

Mein 12jhriger hat den Kran zu Weihnachten bekommen & ihn in vier Tagen zusammen gebaut.
Es ist eine ganz schne Tftelei, ich sage nur zwei AnleitungsBCHER mit jeweils 350 & 400 Seiten .
Der Kran an sich ist ein Mega Teil, ganz ganz toll!

I really enjoyed building this set. I obtained hours of fun playing with this and I am sure I will have tonnes more. The attention to detail is outstanding and all the features work very well. It may not have suspension, but who needs that when you’ve got 4 gigantic wheels! My favourite non-electric features are the V8 engine ( with rotating fan and detailed decorations ) the mini tool and chain compartments ( which actually contain tools and chains! ) the lifelike operators cabin with fake clutch and the hatch at the back that you can lift up to see the motor, the gearbox and the battery slot. I spent 7 days building this 4005 pieced lego masterpiece, which stopped me from playing video games and watching any TV! Measuring 18 inches long and a whopping 39 inches tall this is a colossal set and is worth the money. Priced around 170 and seeing the RRP is 229 you’re getting a lot of technic for your money. Anyone who has brought this set I hope you enjoyed it as much as me!

It can pick up heavier items and higher than the last and we’ve been doing tandem lifts with both cranes together with surprising results. My only down points are the front and rear of the vehicle are the same. The engine is a bit daft (all Lego engines) in that there is no cylinder heads (could do clear ones),exhaust or inlet. It does now come with a fan but no radiator. My only real criticism is that the building panels that come with the pack are poor as the scale is completely wrong as the door height would be about 1.2 to1.5m high. They shouldn’t have bothered as it’s more fun picking up a size 10 trainer.

Biggest lego I've ever seen, more than 4000 pieces
Like: the biggest lego I’ve ever seen. It took me more than 20 hours to get it together, but it was well worth it! Can only recommend to everyone
Dislikes: at times the repetetive constructs may seem boring (e.g. 4 axes seem all the same). Some parts are very difficult to push, specially the x-form bars through 3-4 layers of support.

Mein Mann hat diesen Kran zum Geburtstag bekommen und was soll ich sagen… ich hab ihn danach 2 Wochen lang kaum gesehen
Er hat ewig gebraucht, getftelt und gespielt.
Aufgebaut ist der Kran wirklich sehr gro und ein totaler Blickfang.
Ich wrde ihn jederzeit wieder kaufen und war schon ein bisschen neidisch, dass ich nicht mit bauen durfte.

Bellissima esperienza costruire questa gru. Ci ho messo 3 settimane a costruirla lavorandoci a voglia e a passatempo. Unico neo…pezzi contati all’inverosimile, specie i Pin blu e neri.

Einfach ein Super Teil. Wir haben den Kran unser Sohn zu Weihnachten geschenkt. War eine riesen Freude fr ihn.
Dann wurde er leider etwas an Silvester enttuscht, wie er mit dem einbau des Motors dran war. Es war ein Falscher Motor in der Packung. An Silvester noch bei Lego selbst angerufen, erklrt was der Fehler bei der Verpackung ist und dank der Netten Mitarbeiterin dort, hatten wir innerhalb 4 Tage kostenlos einen neuen Motor.
Perfekter Bauspaß mit tollen Funktionen, sehr stabil und lebensnah
An vielen Baustzen strt mich die Tatsache, dass sie – einmal zusammengebaut – oft mit Samthandschuahen angefasst werden wollen, sollen keine Teile verloren gehen.
Der Kranwagen 42082 jedoch strafte meine diesbezglichen Erwartungen Lgen. Die rund 4.000 Teile “verschmelzen” whrend des Bauens buchstblich zu einer Einheit, die so stabil ist, als htte man ein fertiges Modellauto gekauft. Einfach Spitze! Weiterhin sieht er – im Gegensatz zu so manch anderem Technik-Modell – fast so aus, wie die Originalvorlage.
Ich hoffe sehr, dass Lego den Bereich Technik weiter ausbaut und schon bald noch mehr solch qualitativ hochwertiger Modellbaustze auf den Markt kommen. gerne auch mit 8 oder auch 10.000 Teilen;-)

Buenos dias, Hace mas de 40 aos que soy maquetista de aviones a escala 1/48 de la 1 y 2a guerra mundial he montado mas de 400 maquetas y entre ellas tambien, algunas de Pocher con mas de 5000 piezas y desconocia la experiencia de montar legos technics y ja he montado el bugatti chiron y ahora estoy montando la grua. Es una nueva experiencia fantastica. Estoy enganchado y disfgrutando como un nio.
Wieder mal ein tolles Lego-Technik-Modell
Das Modell beinhaltet sehr viele Teile und ist dafr erstaunlich gnstig. Die Bauabschnitte wirkten fr mich anfangs etwas zusammengewrfelt, aber am Ende war das Modell dann wirklich wie erwartet. Langer Bauspass und danach Spielspass 🙂

Ragazzi, questo un capolavoro. Non ho altre parole per descrivere la bellezza di questo Lego. Complesso, ma piacevole il montaggio, bisogna prestare attenzione a qualsiasi particolare. Il risultato eccellente. Imballaggio perfetto. Una bomba e sono convinto che, a questo prezzo, sia assolutamente da prendere nella propria collezione

Produit bien emball et arriv beaucoup plus tt que prvu ce qui fait encore plus plaisir.
Le produit est super. De longues heures pour pourvoir le monter. Il faut compter environ 35 heures de montage dixit un spcialiste LEGO ( 100 pices par heure pour un amateur 200 pices par heure pour un expert ).

Per montarla ci vogliono 8/10 ore. E’ un prodotto complesso, geniale come siano riusciti alla LEGO a gestire tutto con un solo motore inserito nella parte superiore della gru. Ha molte parti simmetriche, quindi alcune fasi sono ripetitive e potrebbero apparire noiose. Una volta completato avrete sicuramente un modello di impatto!
