I have bought my Macafee from Amazon sellers now for a few years. When you compare it to products bought from the retailers or even the company itself there is no difference at all. You get all the same features but at a fraction of the cost. Macafee wanted over 60 for the same product but you could only use it on one computer whereas I get up to 10 licences with this and it includes mobiles and tablets.

Bought mcafee download version and worked perfectly. Downloaded from mcafee website, as instructions say, new account created with them and software installed in 30 minutes, highly recommended.
This is a much cheaper way to renew annual then the price McAfee offer direct. Software is downloaded in the same way, removes the old and replaces it with the new version at a fraction of the cost and with no issues that I have come across.
Purchased this to as I had purchased a new Chromebook for a course. As I would be using it regularly online McAffee was the obvious choice as I have used it for years. This however is NOT COMPATIBLE with the Chromebook but does not tell you in the advertisement and is non refundable. My other devices are already covered so although I will have this for the next time, I have to spend more money on antivirus software which I would not have had to do if it had been made clear that it is not suitable for Chromebook. McAffee is excellent but this advertisement left out an important piece of compatibility information.
Read the comments about difficulties installing it, but as an existing McAfee user, I logged into my account and was able to install the 25-character code and it updated my expiring subscription.
Not the best I’ve used but its the cheapest I look on Amazon for the download deals, found it easy to upgrade to the new version but True Type acted up a bit and I had to get tech to sort it out for me. Finally got it all working though, tech are good you get seen to right away, that’s what I like.
Have had a McAfee account for years so get renewal offers on expiry from McAfee. I always find a cheaper deal like this at Amazon. (Activation code by Email after purchase) No Brainer!!
Not much to say but easy to install and activate. I’ve read some reviews saying not good, however I used McAfee’s online live chat and you give them the activation code and they will activate and install it for you.
The product works well and is easy to install. The McAfee auto-renewal attempted to charge me 89.99 but a Google search revealed that they were advertising the same product at 22.99!
Easy to install and really cheap. I did not wanted to spend a lot of money to buy antivirus. The brand name of this antivirus is renown as well. My laptop is protected from virus.
I have been with mcafee for over 8 years [from my first phone to my first laptop] I always used to go to the store and purchase a huge amount to last me a few years, I’ll be honest I was going to go for auto renewal but I figured it was way too expensive, like 55 – 70 a year when I can get 20 for literally the same thing.
Had to do a bit of jumping about as the existing McAfee software seemed to be stopping my replacement loading but managed to load to Windows PC, Laptops and Android phones
Deleted existing software and loaded the replacement.
Have used McAfee for years now.
I find it much easier to purchase a multiple user package forvthe family.
On Amazon the price is great and once you get used to logging into McAfee and getting your account activated via the security key. Your flying!

This is such great value for money. McAffee wanted to charge me 79.99 to renew the same product. Very easy to install and worth re-buying fresh each year which is by far the cheapest option. Very good security protection for all my devices. Recommend.
Fantastic product! Comprehensive protection with McAfee Total Protection. The only slight downside (nothing major!) is that it doesn’t have an Ad Blocker, but there are a couple of very good ‘free’ ad blocking add-ons that you get for your browser anyway.
The design/layout of Total Protection is really good and user friendly. It also has a password manager built-in, so great if you are someone who finds it difficult to remember so many passwords for so many accounts!
Easy install, good features for the price. I’ve thrown all sorts at this to see if it could get through and it’s passed with flying colours, I’ve been through the registry, files everything and there’s nothing hiding so recommended.

I’ve had no issues with the software it’s self or with my devices that have it installed! all my devices have been kept clear of any issues for the many years i have used Mcafee Software!
I purchased basically because it’s exactly what I was using but my 1yr was up and it was cheaper to by a new copy with all the things mcafee was giving me now without having to pay the unnecessary hi cost of staying on automatic renewal
Very easy to update. I have used McAfee already so I only needed to add the new code to the existing antivirus and it extended my laptop antivirus protection for another year from the date the old one will expire. Five times cheaper than the automatic subscription.
I have Total Protection installed for several years now and am comfortable with the product. I purchased this latest product a few months ago at a good price – in anticipation of renewal. Activation of the code was easy however (as with previous similar annual renewals) needed Mcafee to remove a glitch with the start/end date. Mcafee are excellent in customer support and resolved the matter really quickly and I remain content with the product.
Whilst their customer service a very slow to respond if ever. the product is excellent, however if you extend via Mcaffee it costs 59.99, but just buying a new copy from Amazon is 22.99 and now with the ability to use that code to extend the antivirus rather than remove and re-install it’s brilliant – well done for that people.
Still a really great piece of software compared to Norton. Does its job quietly in the background, doesn’t slow your computer like Norton or Kaspersky.
This was purchased for a one year renewal to one device. The 2020 edition was already installed. Very simple process of renewing for a further year but at a much reduced price than McAfee were offering via my account.
Having read reviews about the difficulties some people had to install, I was a bit worried. I think possibly people did not uninstall previous antivirus software before trying to install the new edition, as I did that once in the past and ended up on the phone to McAfee. But this install went smoothly. I went to my Games and Software library, got the code straight away and followed instructions from there (didn’t need the email). All up and running in 10 mins for a fraction of the McAfee renewal price.
This product is excellent value and I recommend it thoroughly. However, be warned McAFee do NOT make it easy to install protection purchased from third parties and are very anxious to sell you their exorbitantly priced products (84 instead 13 from Amazon anyone?) Be very careful when seeking to install the product and resist the many attempts to relieve you of your money. Make sure you go to ‘My account’ on the relevant McAfee page and click on the ‘My Account’ tab. A drop down menu appears , click on ‘Redeem your retail card’ and enter the relevant code supplied by Amazon.
I have been buying this product for a number of years. Unfortunately this time it would not let me add this product the the 3xisting product so I lost two months cover. Otherwise a good product.
Value for money and easy to install…. was slightly cheaper but I missed that offer.
Although, I had to manually uninstall the previous version from one of my laptops.

Nothing to dislike, I’ve been using McAfee for years and have purchased through Amazon the last 3 to get the best price. Purchasing is easy and you get an email with product code enclosed. Go to McAfee website and activate the product using the code supplied, then if you need to, download the software. All very simple and quick.
I’ve been using McAfee for several years now, laptop and mobile devices, it has never let me down, there’s some others on market a bit better on certain things but for what I need and for the multi cover package offered this is the best option, very easy to install, on Android phone I found out that to install it properly you need to uninstall the previous app and then reinstall it.
I needed cover and I got it ,brought it clicked on Email product and within the hour I could download and get the cover my house hold needed, 5 different items covered for a penny under 18,great value, so easy to use ,and a great peace of mind
Mcafee are reliable but it’s a shame their own renewal prices are ridiculous. This was a cost effective purchase. Install is time consuming as it has to uninstall the old version. I really don’t know why it can’t just update any missing patches etc. My pc failed to remove all of the old parts but the mcafee website (I was directed to) has an install assistant which sorted it out.
I tried another product for a few months – but did not think that I was getting the same protection.
So I came back and intend to install it on laptop, ipad and iphones as well as my desktop.
Used for years on three devices and have had no problems with viruses etc. McAfee are an extremely annoying company. They start bullying you three months before the license runs out to renew at what is a rediculous price. It is far easier and cheaper to buy a new copy each year than it is to renew. Having said that it works and that is the most important thing.
It wasn’t that easy to install in steps 1 2 and 3 but as I am not technical minded I did it in steps 4 5 and 6,once I got a hang of it it did install after an hour figuring it out,mainly finding the right McAfee site there are quite a few that activate it cards etc but as I bought it on line as it was 50.00 cheaper.

Really easy to set up, and some handy addons too. Only fiddly but was deleting an old security programme which didn’t want to go – my fault for not tidying up earlier, but Macafee sorted this for me
Would not pay top price for directly from McAFEE but if you shop around you can bet at better price, appears to be working well had no issue with it over the years
No idea what other folk are doing to think this is a scam but this worked absolutely fine for my laptop and was no hassle.
I was emailed the code, entered the code and within minutes my anti-virus was all installed and ready to go.
We did the same thing last year with the macafee download and it was very easy. Again this year received the email link after purchase and all done within 3 or 4 minutes. Excellent product and so so easy to renew.
Please don’t be put off by the 1 star reviews, like I nearly was. It’s very easy to install – just follow ONLY the link sent by Amazon AND NO OTHER LINK, and make sure you type the 25-digit key rather than copy and pasting. A year of McAfee Total Protection for 8 is a really good deal and it worked no hassle first time on my laptop – would recommend.
What’s important is that the price is reasonable. At the end of its subscription, I know McAfee will write to me asking me to renew at an exorbitant price, which I always ignore, and find the cheaper version myself.
What an excellent price that even beats the manufacturers own special discounts. The code was in my amazon digital account before I had time to check my emails! The code was easily put into the website (link provided) and any downloads, or in my case an update to my existing account, took place and then I’m fully protected.

Great price and easy to install, as I have an existing mcafee account. In the top 5 of antivirus protection and have used mcafee for a number of years, with no issues. As a lot of previous reviews have said, don’t go for mcafee own, as it’s vastly overpriced and ensure your account does not have auto renew enabled. Have bought through Amazon for some years and have never had an issue with loading or indeed the price. Have always used mcafee to activate, so can’t comment on other apps or websites that seem to have been used.
I am puzzled by all the issues that many people have with this download. I buy it once a year with no problems. All you need to do is uninstall a previous version of McAfee, then follow the link given in the email with the code. Then carefully follow the onscreen prompts and it will install.
Only if you are a beginner on the internet would you struggle. So really buy with confidence and save money on McAfee regular prices.

biggest gripe with this is some of it you NEED to sign up for auto renewal(with a creidt/debit card to get some stuff thats included(like VPN)
the anti virus part is easy to use and set up, for the 7.99price you cant argue, just wondering how much next year will be!
I didn’t let the negative feedback put me off, instead I followed the advice of buyers who left positive feedback and made sure I followed the links through the Amazon emails rather than McAfee. And as someone else says, it’s easy to go into the account to cancel the auto renewal. As I only installed this two days ago I’ll provide an update in a couple of months time but for now there are no problems with this product.
A great product, that can be used across five devices, making it fantastic value. Very easy to install, particularly if you already have a McAfee account. By logging into the account, entering the code that is emailed to you, your subscription across all devices is updated as soon as you switch them on. Absolutely marvellous and a great way to keep the desktop, surface and iPhone safe.
I had an expiring McAfee product from 2019.
All I had to do was enter the serial number and it updated it across all devices – no messy reinstall.
I find this a good unobtrusive virus protection that isn’t constantly bombarding me with notifications.
Brilliant all installed ok. As previously noted on here be very careful when going to the link to activate the code. If it says activation code not right you will be on a dodgy site. It’s a real pity you dont get a link from Amazon with the proper link. It took me a bit of digging to get the right one. Once sorted the download was very easy and I’ve also put it on my phone. Very happy I have a good quality antivirus. Remember to turn off the auto renew. It’s a pity companies do this.
I was thrilled with the price when I saw it for a one time payment that covers me for an entire year. I had used McAfee before so I am not knew to it. Installation took a bit of time, having to ask you to create an account and all, but otherwise it was smooth and straight forward. I am happy I could now offer safeguard to my PC and projects.
After reading the ‘mixed’ reviews it was clear some of the technophobes are simply idiots. This very competitively priced product arrived immediately as a 20 digit activation code and includes an installation link in the email. You simply click on the link and enter the 20 digit activation code. It then checks the software and looks existing McAfee products on your computer. Mine had an expired free 1 month trial version still on it as this is a new laptop. It detected it and removed it but you MUST wait as this takes 5 mins and it looks like nothing is happening. It eventually says reboot your PC now and you are done.
This is a great product, I did not know however, that once you have asked to have the activation code sent to your email…. you have 7 days to install it! I was a day over this so the code had expired which meant I had to contact customer support services to reactivate it!!! But I must say, they were fantastic and very helpful indeed. Totally took the stress out of it by taking control of the McAfee system already installed on my PC and doing all the inputting for me. Highly recommend this.

Not being a techi I thought I was going to have to contact the McCaffee help desk when I clicked on the link provided by Amazon to activate the product and my code came up as invalid. I bought the same product last year and had no problems so decided to try again in a few days when that subscription expired. This time to my relief it worked !
I noticed the installation software removed my old version so suspect that may have been the cause of my problem.
There are a lot of reviews saying this doesn’t work but I can assure you it does! I have downloaded and updated my subscription 3 years in a row by buying the downloadable code. Just copy the product code that amazon sends you in the email into your mcafee account online, once verified redownload the software even if you already have it downloaded, the installer will uninstall your current version and re-install the new one (this can take about 5-10 min) then restart pc and that’s it…
p.s. please check that auto renewal is off if you are coming from a credit card subscription as they will charge you full whack (59.99!) about a month before your subscription ends.

Key code emailed almost immediately. I already had McAfee installed and thought it might cause a few problems reinstalling using the key code, not at all simple and easy to do on all the family devices. Far cheaper buying the product this way than from McAfee direct, will be renewing each year this way if it continue to prove to save me lots of money.
In this day and age protection on your computer is a must and the McAfee does a great job at protecting your computer. Installation was a bit longer than i wouldve liked and difficult but in conclusion its a great protector on the interne
What it says on the in, a code to add a year to your exisiting package (what I did) or from new presumably, I was concerned by the 1* reviews but they all have a pattern, are when people have tried to apply it and got scammed in the process.

Easy to install and all done and protected for the year for less than 10.
I bought the 2019 pack it has been brilliant covers all my devices. Gives me hourly updates on my security. Since using Mcafee I have had no problems well impressed. So I ve bought the 2020 pack has last years is nearly expired. It is excellent value for money mcafee charge 70 online to renew!!!! So big from me
This deal from Amazon is really good value – as per other reviews it will cost about 45 on the McAfee site. Download etc is relatively easy – just follow the instructions BUT make sure you are on the genuine McAfee web site. I nearly got scammed picking the wrong one. Type it into the Taskbar at the top on your computer screen – don’t choose it from a search engine list. Hope this helps.
Used McAfee for many years now and it works well with some useful features. Every year when the renewal is due Mcafee send a special price offer to renew, bizarrely this has always been between 2 and 3 times more expensive than the price of a new installation from Amazon! How ridiculous is that, when in both cases it’s just an updated installation key code!
Quite amazed to get this product for this price, have been using for a few months but so far has been terrific. If you are working online, a decent security package is a must. Would recommend you look at this one, it fulfills everything that you would need.

Got the code via email, logged into my existing McAfee account entered the code and downloaded…. it was an easy and painless install.
I previously used McAfee Livesafe but this time went for the 10 device Total protection version as didn’t need livesafe, always found McAfee products run faultlessly, not heavy on resources and run away queitly in the background.
Downloaded onto three Win. 10 p.c.s so far. All good.
After the initial registration for a McAfee account, and installing on the first machine, I received a further e-mail with a direct link to download onto other machines. This is the same product that BT provide with their broadband.
To protect five devices for the price is excellent value. Works unobtrusively in the background wihout “hogging” too much resources.
Be aware that if a full uninstall is required, and after the procedure via control panel, search for and run the McAfee removal tool. That removes all left behind traces from your device.
By mcafee security every year and this 10 license download covers all the appliances in the family. Received the email containing the code and how to access the download, within minutes of purchase. Had downloaded and installed Mcafee on three computers within an hour. Really good price about 50% cheaper than Mcafee’s on line sale price.
McAfee have always been better than the rest in my opinion but their renewal and normal pricing is shockingly bad.
I had slight issues with downloading the software because it’s not clear where you download this from and I think this is the reason for most of the 1 Star ratings.
Once you find it and plug the code in it’s very simple.
Step one. Buy the product and you will receive an email from Amazon with the code.
Step two: Go to your search engine (chrome) and put in “McAfee Activation”, this will give you the site path to plug the code in and download the new software.

This is an excellent price for a product I have never experienced problems with. It sounds easy – emailed a link, activated, extended last year’s Mcafee. Then the nightmare began. It took over 5 hours to ensure 5 devices were protected in what should have been a simple continuation of the service. The iPad and phone updated automatically but 3 had to be installed individually, one of then at Tech level 2, with Mcafee remote support. I’m worn out BUT excellent online service from Mcafee.
I always renew Mcafee this way as it’s so much cheaper than the version direct from Mcafee. It takes no time at all to log on and enter the 16 digit code. Then verify your subscription on all devices and it’s done. You must use the web address on the Amazon downloads site and then stop the auto renew on Mcafee and you’re good to go.
I’ve used this product for years but, at renewal, the software will try to force you down the path of renewing direct with McAfee. I blindly did this and then realised I could buy it around 5 times cheaper on Amazon and it will renew just the same as direct from McAfee. DO NOT RENEW DIRECT WITH MCAFEE…. unless you’re loaded!
The product covers the usual virus scan, web safety etc. and does so quite unobtrusively. Doesn’t seem to affect performance and is easy to remove unlike some software (Norton!)
The software is very easy to use providing good protection against Cyber threats. Installing the software when bought from a third party can have some tricky moments but once installed it works perfectly. I suspect purchasing and installing directly from McAfee is probably straight forward without any glitches!
Like many others I was rather skeptical about downloading this off amazon even though it is sold my McAfee themselves. After reading the reviews I was hesitant but due to laziness and not going to pc world to buy the code I bought it through amazon.
I am a returning customer to McAfee so I needed the code to extend my subscription. Easy enough, I bought it and received the code through the amazon “software library” (keep in mind the price is exactly the same as pc world)
I went to the McAfee site to renew my subscription and copy and pasted the code in. DIDNT WORK!
After thinking I had definitely been done by a scam, I tried to type in the code instead and it worked!
Please try to type in the code rather than copy and paste it in! After that it should recognise the code and accept it!
Great product for a great price. The previous product needed removing prior to installing this one but the installation process was simple enough, after, I went onto my account to deactivate the auto renewal because I prefer to shop for a competitive price.
I received blue FAKE Mcafee pop ups on my laptop telling me to renew or accept risks of viruses, and during installation, I received a phone call in which the caller told me I was installing McAfee and that I was having problems with installing it. I told the person that everything was going fine, he then asked me if I was sure? Then he hung up. The number he rang from was San Francisco. The reason I have mentioned this is because the same happened a year ago when I was installing McAfee on another laptop and they accessed the laptop. My advice is if you need help installing McAfee you can ring their free number, don’t accept ‘help’ from scammers like I did.
Just as it says, protection for up to 10 devices, no hidden fees. If you already have a mcafee account this will register on it as soon as you activate. For any other device just log in to your mcafee account and download. Just make sure to uninstall your old version first. I would give this product 5 stars if it had webcam protection as well.
Uninstalled McAfee. Followed the instructions from the email link. Logged into McAfee account, re-downloaded. Works perfect. Two things to mention though. I still had 12 days left on my old subscription – some people mention this was added to their new sub. In my case it wasn’t – Also you have to input your credit card details so they can enrol you for auto-renewal. Once everything was up and running i simply logged into my account and disabled this. The whole process took me about 20 mins. I have used McAfee for a couple of years – despite the large pop up when your subscription is almost up (doesn’t pop up often to be fair) i have had no problems at all – guess it does what it says on the tin. For the price, ease of set up i would recommend this product.
Extremely easy to follow and install. As I had McAfee on my PC already it had to automatically uninstall old version which took some minutes but not long. Don’t auto renew as that price isn’t stated. McAfee will send you a load of warnings about protection expiring so there is plenty of time to get a cheaper deal than what they offer.
I have used McAfee Total Protection for years and the emailed code is a quick easy and cheap means of renewal. The email with the code arrived instantly with installation instructions. I had expected it to extend my current subscription, maybe I missed something, but anyway it removed my about-to-expire version, re-started the PC then downloaded and installed faultlessly, so I am protected for another year. It took about 20 minutes in all – depends on your PC and internet speed. Unless you want auto-renewal don’t forget to switch off this feature (My Account tab >Auto renewal settings) which gives you the opportunity to shop around again next year. Highly recommended for experts or novices!
It’s difficult to know absolutely, how well protected we are. That applies, even for somebody who’s worked in the IT industry for a long time, like myself. All I can say is that McAfee was my company’s choice to cover a large workforce and we seemed to be kept safe for as long as I was there. That also means that I’m familiar with the interface, so that counts for why I keep getting the product. I would say, however, that the individual would be well advised to research on how and where you buy it. I would definitely not recommend just renewing when it gets to the end of a subscription.
I have been a long standing customer of McAfee but due to their lousy support system for renewal and also gross overpricing I decided to look at stand alone purchases. I am so glad I did as I have the same protection for half the renewal price. My advice is to use this one line method via Amazon and forget any subscription to McAfee! Incidentally the virus protection is second to none!
I am always amazed at how much Mcafee ask for renewal fees year in – they make it neigh on impossible to cancel the automatic renewal its hidden in the account management so deep you can never find it easily. Yet if you buy the new one here and remove the old copy – this one actually did it for me – a first in my experience – it works like new even though it recognised my computer and account. I paid 16.40 for this and the renewal was $89 plus tax?!! Bargain for an extra half an hour to load it on the two computers!
I saw quite a few bad reviews on this product but I still decided to give it ago as my IT guy at work told me to do the installation through one of these email codes and it’s cheap. I bought the product at 21:00 this evening and it was up and ruining by 21:48. I did read in another comment to make life easier uninstall any other McAfee products you have (I would do this before you start) – I didn’t do this so it did take a tiny bit longer but it was simple and removed it for me, also a little patience does the trick. This product is absolutely worth the money and I will definitely purchase again!
I’ve been using McAfee for several years now and am thoroughly satisfied. However, when it comes to renewal time check the offers on Amazon and re-install, otherwise buying a renewal from the McAfee site direct is going to cost a lot more. Once installed go to “My Account” and cancel the auto renewal option.
I suppose we get used to a security programme and it would take a lot to make us change. I have had no problems with McAfee and it seems to be very powerful. I will stick with it until it fails… but for me it never has.
I am afraid I would not take up an automatically renewed subscription. For some reason it becomes more expensive than renewing manually… Isn’t loyalty worth rewarding?
I bought this as I didn’t want to pay the 50 renewal cost asked for by McAfee. Having read the reviews I was prepared for problems…. There weren’t any. Follow the easy instructions, enter the code, and it all happens for you. The was no request for credit card details or a telephone number as other reviewers have mentioned. I am no expert with a computer, if I can do it, anyone can.
I am very happy with this purchase, I have successfully installed it on all my devices. Really good value for money. This version costs a lot more if you get this from the McAfee Store itself. Don’t know why! But yes, works well total protection is just that. I get regular updates and I have not faced any issues yet. I have used McAfee in the past and I have thankfully not faced any viruses or issues related to security since.
Finally got it installed, but it took contacting the CS Team to figure out why it wasn’t downloading. You need the very latest system update, which meant having to download Sierra, as there was no other apparent way to get the update my system thought it had.
It was a good price, so can’t complain, just a bit frustrating as needed to upgrade system higher than advertised, then remove all traces of the old anti virus, even installing was a bit of a faff, so I’d advocate you need patience.
I think it said you needed OSX .10 when you actually need .13, so they could do with updating the site, as it’s not apparent unless you ask.
Within an hour of buying all loaded and works fine !!! Very easy to follow instructions. Bought as my existing 2017 Total Protection was running out today, the instructions recognised I already had an account and extended to 30 11 2018, with download, removal of 2017 and installed 2018 in approx 40 mins. What more can I say, for a tenner 30 cheaper than anywhere else, and all covered until Nov 2018 Excellent !!!

I’ve been using McAfee since 2015 and I’m very pleased with their protection. I use their Total Protection for 1 device and it really does work a dream. It runs in the background all the time, updates itself and even has an integrated shredding tool so that you can get rid of things properly rather than just hit the “delete” button. I assume everyone knows that when you delete something it only disappears from view – it isn’t removed from your device completely unless you use a shredding tool like the one with McAfee.
I have bought my Macafee from Amazon sellers now for a few years. When you compare it to products bought from the retailers or even the company itself there is no difference at all. You get all the same features but at a fraction of the cost. Macafee wanted over 60 for the same product but you could only use it on one computer whereas I get up to 10 licences with this and it includes mobiles and tablets.
so easy to download and install, does most of it for you whil u go for a cup of tea, much easier than other brands.
Great product. I buy a new one every year because that’s cheaper than extending the usage. This year it has a good password manager. too

Bought mcafee download version and worked perfectly. Downloaded from mcafee website, as instructions say, new account created with them and software installed in 30 minutes, highly recommended.
This is a much cheaper way to renew annual then the price McAfee offer direct. Software is downloaded in the same way, removes the old and replaces it with the new version at a fraction of the cost and with no issues that I have come across.
If you watch fir the price bring reduced this is a brilliant buy. I got 5 devices for 9.99.
I have used McAfee for a number of years. Black Friday price attractive so I went for it. Update very straightforward so panic over for another year.

Purchased this to as I had purchased a new Chromebook for a course. As I would be using it regularly online McAffee was the obvious choice as I have used it for years. This however is NOT COMPATIBLE with the Chromebook but does not tell you in the advertisement and is non refundable. My other devices are already covered so although I will have this for the next time, I have to spend more money on antivirus software which I would not have had to do if it had been made clear that it is not suitable for Chromebook. McAffee is excellent but this advertisement left out an important piece of compatibility information.
Read the comments about difficulties installing it, but as an existing McAfee user, I logged into my account and was able to install the 25-character code and it updated my expiring subscription.
Not the best I’ve used but its the cheapest I look on Amazon for the download deals, found it easy to upgrade to the new version but True Type acted up a bit and I had to get tech to sort it out for me. Finally got it all working though, tech are good you get seen to right away, that’s what I like.
Have had a McAfee account for years so get renewal offers on expiry from McAfee. I always find a cheaper deal like this at Amazon. (Activation code by Email after purchase) No Brainer!!

Not much to say but easy to install and activate. I’ve read some reviews saying not good, however I used McAfee’s online live chat and you give them the activation code and they will activate and install it for you.
The product works well and is easy to install. The McAfee auto-renewal attempted to charge me 89.99 but a Google search revealed that they were advertising the same product at 22.99!
Easy to install and really cheap. I did not wanted to spend a lot of money to buy antivirus. The brand name of this antivirus is renown as well. My laptop is protected from virus.
I have been with mcafee for over 8 years [from my first phone to my first laptop] I always used to go to the store and purchase a huge amount to last me a few years, I’ll be honest I was going to go for auto renewal but I figured it was way too expensive, like 55 – 70 a year when I can get 20 for literally the same thing.
Had to do a bit of jumping about as the existing McAfee software seemed to be stopping my replacement loading but managed to load to Windows PC, Laptops and Android phones
Deleted existing software and loaded the replacement.
Have used McAfee for years now.
I find it much easier to purchase a multiple user package forvthe family.
On Amazon the price is great and once you get used to logging into McAfee and getting your account activated via the security key. Your flying!

This is such great value for money. McAffee wanted to charge me 79.99 to renew the same product. Very easy to install and worth re-buying fresh each year which is by far the cheapest option. Very good security protection for all my devices. Recommend.
Fantastic product! Comprehensive protection with McAfee Total Protection. The only slight downside (nothing major!) is that it doesn’t have an Ad Blocker, but there are a couple of very good ‘free’ ad blocking add-ons that you get for your browser anyway.
The design/layout of Total Protection is really good and user friendly. It also has a password manager built-in, so great if you are someone who finds it difficult to remember so many passwords for so many accounts!
Easy install, good features for the price. I’ve thrown all sorts at this to see if it could get through and it’s passed with flying colours, I’ve been through the registry, files everything and there’s nothing hiding so recommended.

Very easy to update. I have used McAfee already so I only needed to add the new code to the existing antivirus and it extended my laptop antivirus protection for another year from the date the old one will expire. Five times cheaper than the automatic subscription.
I have Total Protection installed for several years now and am comfortable with the product. I purchased this latest product a few months ago at a good price – in anticipation of renewal. Activation of the code was easy however (as with previous similar annual renewals) needed Mcafee to remove a glitch with the start/end date. Mcafee are excellent in customer support and resolved the matter really quickly and I remain content with the product.
Whilst their customer service a very slow to respond if ever. the product is excellent, however if you extend via Mcaffee it costs 59.99, but just buying a new copy from Amazon is 22.99 and now with the ability to use that code to extend the antivirus rather than remove and re-install it’s brilliant – well done for that people.
Still a really great piece of software compared to Norton. Does its job quietly in the background, doesn’t slow your computer like Norton or Kaspersky.
This was purchased for a one year renewal to one device. The 2020 edition was already installed. Very simple process of renewing for a further year but at a much reduced price than McAfee were offering via my account.
Better than being “rewarded” by McAfee charging a lot more
Having read reviews about the difficulties some people had to install, I was a bit worried. I think possibly people did not uninstall previous antivirus software before trying to install the new edition, as I did that once in the past and ended up on the phone to McAfee. But this install went smoothly. I went to my Games and Software library, got the code straight away and followed instructions from there (didn’t need the email). All up and running in 10 mins for a fraction of the McAfee renewal price.
This product is excellent value and I recommend it thoroughly. However, be warned McAFee do NOT make it easy to install protection purchased from third parties and are very anxious to sell you their exorbitantly priced products (84 instead 13 from Amazon anyone?) Be very careful when seeking to install the product and resist the many attempts to relieve you of your money. Make sure you go to ‘My account’ on the relevant McAfee page and click on the ‘My Account’ tab. A drop down menu appears , click on ‘Redeem your retail card’ and enter the relevant code supplied by Amazon.
I have been buying this product for a number of years. Unfortunately this time it would not let me add this product the the 3xisting product so I lost two months cover. Otherwise a good product.
Value for money and easy to install…. was slightly cheaper but I missed that offer.
Although, I had to manually uninstall the previous version from one of my laptops.

Go to McAfee website and activate the product using the code supplied, then if you need to, download the software. All very simple and quick.
I’ve been using McAfee for several years now, laptop and mobile devices, it has never let me down, there’s some others on market a bit better on certain things but for what I need and for the multi cover package offered this is the best option, very easy to install, on Android phone I found out that to install it properly you need to uninstall the previous app and then reinstall it.
I needed cover and I got it ,brought it clicked on Email product and within the hour I could download and get the cover my house hold needed, 5 different items covered for a penny under 18,great value, so easy to use ,and a great peace of mind

Mcafee are reliable but it’s a shame their own renewal prices are ridiculous. This was a cost effective purchase. Install is time consuming as it has to uninstall the old version. I really don’t know why it can’t just update any missing patches etc. My pc failed to remove all of the old parts but the mcafee website (I was directed to) has an install assistant which sorted it out.
I tried another product for a few months – but did not think that I was getting the same protection.
So I came back and intend to install it on laptop, ipad and iphones as well as my desktop.
Used for years on three devices and have had no problems with viruses etc. McAfee are an extremely annoying company. They start bullying you three months before the license runs out to renew at what is a rediculous price. It is far easier and cheaper to buy a new copy each year than it is to renew. Having said that it works and that is the most important thing.
It wasn’t that easy to install in steps 1 2 and 3 but as I am not technical minded I did it in steps 4 5 and 6,once I got a hang of it it did install after an hour figuring it out,mainly finding the right McAfee site there are quite a few that activate it cards etc but as I bought it on line as it was 50.00 cheaper.

We did the same thing last year with the macafee download and it was very easy. Again this year received the email link after purchase and all done within 3 or 4 minutes. Excellent product and so so easy to renew.
Please don’t be put off by the 1 star reviews, like I nearly was. It’s very easy to install – just follow ONLY the link sent by Amazon AND NO OTHER LINK, and make sure you type the 25-digit key rather than copy and pasting. A year of McAfee Total Protection for 8 is a really good deal and it worked no hassle first time on my laptop – would recommend.
What’s important is that the price is reasonable. At the end of its subscription, I know McAfee will write to me asking me to renew at an exorbitant price, which I always ignore, and find the cheaper version myself.
What an excellent price that even beats the manufacturers own special discounts. The code was in my amazon digital account before I had time to check my emails! The code was easily put into the website (link provided) and any downloads, or in my case an update to my existing account, took place and then I’m fully protected.

Great price and easy to install, as I have an existing mcafee account. In the top 5 of antivirus protection and have used mcafee for a number of years, with no issues. As a lot of previous reviews have said, don’t go for mcafee own, as it’s vastly overpriced and ensure your account does not have auto renew enabled. Have bought through Amazon for some years and have never had an issue with loading or indeed the price. Have always used mcafee to activate, so can’t comment on other apps or websites that seem to have been used.

biggest gripe with this is some of it you NEED to sign up for auto renewal(with a creidt/debit card to get some stuff thats included(like VPN)

I didn’t let the negative feedback put me off, instead I followed the advice of buyers who left positive feedback and made sure I followed the links through the Amazon emails rather than McAfee. And as someone else says, it’s easy to go into the account to cancel the auto renewal. As I only installed this two days ago I’ll provide an update in a couple of months time but for now there are no problems with this product.
A great product, that can be used across five devices, making it fantastic value. Very easy to install, particularly if you already have a McAfee account. By logging into the account, entering the code that is emailed to you, your subscription across all devices is updated as soon as you switch them on. Absolutely marvellous and a great way to keep the desktop, surface and iPhone safe.
I had an expiring McAfee product from 2019.
All I had to do was enter the serial number and it updated it across all devices – no messy reinstall.
I find this a good unobtrusive virus protection that isn’t constantly bombarding me with notifications.
Brilliant all installed ok. As previously noted on here be very careful when going to the link to activate the code. If it says activation code not right you will be on a dodgy site. It’s a real pity you dont get a link from Amazon with the proper link. It took me a bit of digging to get the right one. Once sorted the download was very easy and I’ve also put it on my phone. Very happy I have a good quality antivirus. Remember to turn off the auto renew. It’s a pity companies do this.
I was thrilled with the price when I saw it for a one time payment that covers me for an entire year. I had used McAfee before so I am not knew to it. Installation took a bit of time, having to ask you to create an account and all, but otherwise it was smooth and straight forward. I am happy I could now offer safeguard to my PC and projects.

After reading the ‘mixed’ reviews it was clear some of the technophobes are simply idiots. This very competitively priced product arrived immediately as a 20 digit activation code and includes an installation link in the email. You simply click on the link and enter the 20 digit activation code. It then checks the software and looks existing McAfee products on your computer. Mine had an expired free 1 month trial version still on it as this is a new laptop. It detected it and removed it but you MUST wait as this takes 5 mins and it looks like nothing is happening. It eventually says reboot your PC now and you are done.
This is a great product, I did not know however, that once you have asked to have the activation code sent to your email…. you have 7 days to install it! I was a day over this so the code had expired which meant I had to contact customer support services to reactivate it!!! But I must say, they were fantastic and very helpful indeed. Totally took the stress out of it by taking control of the McAfee system already installed on my PC and doing all the inputting for me. Highly recommend this.

Not being a techi I thought I was going to have to contact the McCaffee help desk when I clicked on the link provided by Amazon to activate the product and my code came up as invalid. I bought the same product last year and had no problems so decided to try again in a few days when that subscription expired. This time to my relief it worked !
I noticed the installation software removed my old version so suspect that may have been the cause of my problem.
There are a lot of reviews saying this doesn’t work but I can assure you it does! I have downloaded and updated my subscription 3 years in a row by buying the downloadable code. Just copy the product code that amazon sends you in the email into your mcafee account online, once verified redownload the software even if you already have it downloaded, the installer will uninstall your current version and re-install the new one (this can take about 5-10 min) then restart pc and that’s it…
p.s. please check that auto renewal is off if you are coming from a credit card subscription as they will charge you full whack (59.99!) about a month before your subscription ends.

Key code emailed almost immediately. I already had McAfee installed and thought it might cause a few problems reinstalling using the key code, not at all simple and easy to do on all the family devices. Far cheaper buying the product this way than from McAfee direct, will be renewing each year this way if it continue to prove to save me lots of money.
In this day and age protection on your computer is a must and the McAfee does a great job at protecting your computer. Installation was a bit longer than i wouldve liked and difficult but in conclusion its a great protector on the interne

What it says on the in, a code to add a year to your exisiting package (what I did) or from new presumably, I was concerned by the 1* reviews but they all have a pattern, are when people have tried to apply it and got scammed in the process.

Easy to install and all done and protected for the year for less than 10.
I bought the 2019 pack it has been brilliant covers all my devices. Gives me hourly updates on my security. Since using Mcafee I have had no problems well impressed. So I ve bought the 2020 pack has last years is nearly expired. It is excellent value for money mcafee charge 70 online to renew!!!! So big from me
This deal from Amazon is really good value – as per other reviews it will cost about 45 on the McAfee site. Download etc is relatively easy – just follow the instructions BUT make sure you are on the genuine McAfee web site. I nearly got scammed picking the wrong one. Type it into the Taskbar at the top on your computer screen – don’t choose it from a search engine list. Hope this helps.
Used McAfee for many years now and it works well with some useful features. Every year when the renewal is due Mcafee send a special price offer to renew, bizarrely this has always been between 2 and 3 times more expensive than the price of a new installation from Amazon! How ridiculous is that, when in both cases it’s just an updated installation key code!
Quite amazed to get this product for this price, have been using for a few months but so far has been terrific. If you are working online, a decent security package is a must. Would recommend you look at this one, it fulfills everything that you would need.

I previously used McAfee Livesafe but this time went for the 10 device Total protection version as didn’t need livesafe, always found McAfee products run faultlessly, not heavy on resources and run away queitly in the background.
Downloaded onto three Win. 10 p.c.s so far. All good.
After the initial registration for a McAfee account, and installing on the first machine, I received a further e-mail with a direct link to download onto other machines. This is the same product that BT provide with their broadband.
To protect five devices for the price is excellent value. Works unobtrusively in the background wihout “hogging” too much resources.
Be aware that if a full uninstall is required, and after the procedure via control panel, search for and run the McAfee removal tool. That removes all left behind traces from your device.
By mcafee security every year and this 10 license download covers all the appliances in the family. Received the email containing the code and how to access the download, within minutes of purchase. Had downloaded and installed Mcafee on three computers within an hour. Really good price about 50% cheaper than Mcafee’s on line sale price.
I had slight issues with downloading the software because it’s not clear where you download this from and I think this is the reason for most of the 1 Star ratings.
Once you find it and plug the code in it’s very simple.
Step one. Buy the product and you will receive an email from Amazon with the code.
Step two: Go to your search engine (chrome) and put in “McAfee Activation”, this will give you the site path to plug the code in and download the new software.
Step three: wait to all download and you’re done.

This is an excellent price for a product I have never experienced problems with. It sounds easy – emailed a link, activated, extended last year’s Mcafee. Then the nightmare began. It took over 5 hours to ensure 5 devices were protected in what should have been a simple continuation of the service. The iPad and phone updated automatically but 3 had to be installed individually, one of then at Tech level 2, with Mcafee remote support. I’m worn out BUT excellent online service from Mcafee.
I always renew Mcafee this way as it’s so much cheaper than the version direct from Mcafee. It takes no time at all to log on and enter the 16 digit code. Then verify your subscription on all devices and it’s done. You must use the web address on the Amazon downloads site and then stop the auto renew on Mcafee and you’re good to go.
I’ve used this product for years but, at renewal, the software will try to force you down the path of renewing direct with McAfee. I blindly did this and then realised I could buy it around 5 times cheaper on Amazon and it will renew just the same as direct from McAfee. DO NOT RENEW DIRECT WITH MCAFEE…. unless you’re loaded!
The product covers the usual virus scan, web safety etc. and does so quite unobtrusively. Doesn’t seem to affect performance and is easy to remove unlike some software (Norton!)
The software is very easy to use providing good protection against Cyber threats. Installing the software when bought from a third party can have some tricky moments but once installed it works perfectly. I suspect purchasing and installing directly from McAfee is probably straight forward without any glitches!
I am a returning customer to McAfee so I needed the code to extend my subscription. Easy enough, I bought it and received the code through the amazon “software library” (keep in mind the price is exactly the same as pc world)
I went to the McAfee site to renew my subscription and copy and pasted the code in. DIDNT WORK!
After thinking I had definitely been done by a scam, I tried to type in the code instead and it worked!
Please try to type in the code rather than copy and paste it in! After that it should recognise the code and accept it!

I received blue FAKE Mcafee pop ups on my laptop telling me to renew or accept risks of viruses, and during installation, I received a phone call in which the caller told me I was installing McAfee and that I was having problems with installing it. I told the person that everything was going fine, he then asked me if I was sure? Then he hung up. The number he rang from was San Francisco. The reason I have mentioned this is because the same happened a year ago when I was installing McAfee on another laptop and they accessed the laptop. My advice is if you need help installing McAfee you can ring their free number, don’t accept ‘help’ from scammers like I did.
Just as it says, protection for up to 10 devices, no hidden fees. If you already have a mcafee account this will register on it as soon as you activate. For any other device just log in to your mcafee account and download. Just make sure to uninstall your old version first. I would give this product 5 stars if it had webcam protection as well.
Extremely easy to follow and install. As I had McAfee on my PC already it had to automatically uninstall old version which took some minutes but not long. Don’t auto renew as that price isn’t stated. McAfee will send you a load of warnings about protection expiring so there is plenty of time to get a cheaper deal than what they offer.
It’s difficult to know absolutely, how well protected we are. That applies, even for somebody who’s worked in the IT industry for a long time, like myself. All I can say is that McAfee was my company’s choice to cover a large workforce and we seemed to be kept safe for as long as I was there. That also means that I’m familiar with the interface, so that counts for why I keep getting the product. I would say, however, that the individual would be well advised to research on how and where you buy it. I would definitely not recommend just renewing when it gets to the end of a subscription.
I have been a long standing customer of McAfee but due to their lousy support system for renewal and also gross overpricing I decided to look at stand alone purchases. I am so glad I did as I have the same protection for half the renewal price. My advice is to use this one line method via Amazon and forget any subscription to McAfee! Incidentally the virus protection is second to none!
I am always amazed at how much Mcafee ask for renewal fees year in – they make it neigh on impossible to cancel the automatic renewal its hidden in the account management so deep you can never find it easily. Yet if you buy the new one here and remove the old copy – this one actually did it for me – a first in my experience – it works like new even though it recognised my computer and account. I paid 16.40 for this and the renewal was $89 plus tax?!! Bargain for an extra half an hour to load it on the two computers!
I saw quite a few bad reviews on this product but I still decided to give it ago as my IT guy at work told me to do the installation through one of these email codes and it’s cheap. I bought the product at 21:00 this evening and it was up and ruining by 21:48. I did read in another comment to make life easier uninstall any other McAfee products you have (I would do this before you start) – I didn’t do this so it did take a tiny bit longer but it was simple and removed it for me, also a little patience does the trick. This product is absolutely worth the money and I will definitely purchase again!
I’ve been using McAfee for several years now and am thoroughly satisfied. However, when it comes to renewal time check the offers on Amazon and re-install, otherwise buying a renewal from the McAfee site direct is going to cost a lot more. Once installed go to “My Account” and cancel the auto renewal option.
I am afraid I would not take up an automatically renewed subscription. For some reason it becomes more expensive than renewing manually… Isn’t loyalty worth rewarding?
I bought this as I didn’t want to pay the 50 renewal cost asked for by McAfee. Having read the reviews I was prepared for problems…. There weren’t any. Follow the easy instructions, enter the code, and it all happens for you. The was no request for credit card details or a telephone number as other reviewers have mentioned. I am no expert with a computer, if I can do it, anyone can.
Finally got it installed, but it took contacting the CS Team to figure out why it wasn’t downloading. You need the very latest system update, which meant having to download Sierra, as there was no other apparent way to get the update my system thought it had.
It was a good price, so can’t complain, just a bit frustrating as needed to upgrade system higher than advertised, then remove all traces of the old anti virus, even installing was a bit of a faff, so I’d advocate you need patience.
I think it said you needed OSX .10 when you actually need .13, so they could do with updating the site, as it’s not apparent unless you ask.

Bought as my existing 2017 Total Protection was running out today, the instructions recognised I already had an account and extended to 30 11 2018, with download, removal of 2017 and installed 2018 in approx 40 mins. What more can I say, for a tenner 30 cheaper than anywhere else, and all covered until Nov 2018 Excellent !!!
Not sure how anyone can be negative !
