Suitable for two bedrooms flats
Wellmade British brand which prevents damps and condensations situations. From a practical point of view, the relative humidity could not reach less than 55% (after three months of 24/7 activity) which is not bad at all.
It is not cheap but it is definitely worth to buy to avoid any extra costs imposed by damp and condensation.
Amazing.
Fantastic product. Has worked wonders for the damp and condensation throughout the 3 bed house.
Excellent dehumidifie
We live in a 117 year old property that has damp issues so bought the Meaco 20L dehumidifier about a year ago after my 3 year old grandson was having breathing issues. It’s been a fantastic investment as he’s been fine ever since and the damp that had built up has receded. Also great at drying your laundry overnight. The only minor issue I have is that the louvre (flap) that allows the warm air to escape from the machine must always be open but the kids sometimes close it shut and then you have to manually open it, whereas if it needs to stay open as per the instructions, then they should have made it child proof. Other than this one minor issue, it’s a great product that has been extremely beneficial.
If you've got mould, buy one!
I am very pleased with this dehumidifier. I have had a problem with black mould all around my house. We could clean it off with a reputable mould killer but it would be back within a week or so.
We cleaned all the mould off in preparation of purchasing the dehumidifier. We set the machine up using the settings recommended by the manufacturer. Twenty four hours later the machines water container was full!
This continues for another 3 days, then it started to last probably a day and a half before becoming full.
It’s gradually starting to take longer to fill as time goes on.
I don’t know where all this moisture is coming from, but it is gradually becoming less.
The machine is brilliant. It’s a little bit on the noisy side, but I can still hear the TV when it’s on.
It is easy to move around, it is not too heavy.
I would definitely recommend this dehumidifier. We have not had any mould up to now, which we definitely would have without it. I can’t yet comment on its energy efficiency, but I would imagine that it is, we will have to see on our electricity bills in the future.
Worth every penny, a must have
Checking our smart meter indicated extremely reasonable electricity consumption for drying washing indoors, so not on all day but typically say 4hrs.
Maneuverability using the top folding handle is easy enough, making it highly relocatable around the house, a real bonus given it can also be used with an allergy hepa air filter in non dehumidifier mode.
It’s not super-quiet although not disturbingly loud either.
Great moisture removal. Very pleased with this product.
Great product but it's not 20l
Great works well. Does what it says on the box. Nice and quite. Just one thing it has a 6 liter tank not 20 ltr that’s the only confusion with when I purchased it for the big tank.
Works well
The machine works very well recovering about 40 litres in approximately 10 days. I like the automatic on/off that operates as the humidity levels change. It is a bit noisier than I expected so it runs in the hallway and not in the room that is occupied.
Superdry Drye
This unit works brilliantly. Used it to dry out my loft after a rain leak which made a mess. This made light work of the job. Very quiet and could not be heard durimng the night when running. Easy to empty and to move about. Also a very compact unit to store away when not in use. Well worth the extra investment.
It earns it's 'Which best buy'
Ok it’s more expensive than most, but it is so much better than the 180 last one I had (was also a Which recommended). It’s low energy efficiency comes from it’s ability to switch off once a humidity level (which you input) has been reached and switch on if the humidity level increases again. Good sized water tank too, don’t have to empty it every other day, now it’s every other week.
Efficient dryer and large capacity
This is my 3rd Dehumidifier and the best so far! The device works like clockwork and really assists in clothes drying with the directional output vent. The water tank is large and has a useful handle making disposal easy. The only negative point is the green stripe around the top of the machine, but that’s a personal opinion.
Needs good manual instructions
Looks good and well built
The only struggle i found is changing the settings from continous to air purifier only vice versa, i hope they have a good manual for this.
I want it continous so if does not collect water then it is on air purifier mode so i have to continue fiddling with it.
Deals Effectively with Condensatio
It is just perfect for our needs as our bungalow is prone to condensation which is almost non existent now and the tendency to develop mould has gone completely.
Excellent dehumidifie
Our kitchen used to run with water when we cooked and the dampness caused mould under the appliances – we run this when cooking and it has solved the problem! Would recommend for anyone with humidity issues.
Effective Dehumidifie
Much improved over our previous dehumidifier (different brand). Relatively quiet operation, it’s not silent, but there are no humming sounds (as our previous dehumidifier was prone to) more the sound of a powerful fan. Seems to draw a lot of moisture from the air and has done a good job of keeping a large 5 bed house below 50% humidity.
Great dehumidifie
I am delighted with this 12l dehumidifier. noise level is about the same as a fan, easy to empty and move about. Has made an incredible difference to the condensation in my 8ft x 8ft back bedroom. i empty it about every 2 days, havent had to wipe round the window or wall since i got it. Been well worth it to get rid of the condensation in the winte
Reduced Condensation and Humidity!
I’ve been using this for a few months now. Overall it’s been excellent. Meaco also have excellent customer service.
The first dehumidifier I received was faulty as it wasn’t extracting any water from the environment despite showing high levels of humidity. The phone service was excellent and they talked me through how to check if it is an issue with the compressor by doing a bathroom test.
I later got a replacement and it has been on pretty much 24/7.
Based on my current electricity plan, I’m paying about 3p per hour. There are two fan mode settings. When I’m cooking I keep it on the high fan mode to extract the moisture quicker. Overnight, I leave it on the low fan mode.
I should note here that both fan modes are quite noisy.
Overall an excellent product with great after sales service.
2 Liters per day extracted
My last unit was 20 years old and ran out of gas. It use to extract 5 liters per WEEK. Replaced with the 20 LE and in the fist two days, only operating for 12 hours per day, extracted 2 liters a day. My house, a 60 year old bungalow, very high up, very exposed needs all the extraction it can get. Day three only extracted 1.3 Ltrs, so I have to assume that the house is less humid as a result. Take no notice of the digital display that reads a very low humidity, this is the level at the output of the 20 LE and does not give a true room value. Overall very impressive.
very good dehumidifie
After considering a number of dehumidifiers, I went for the Meaco based on very good reviews, and I am not disappointed at all. This has really brought very high damp levels under control quickly and is proving to be a real workhorse. Having said that, a couple of things to bear in mind. First, the weight – this is a heavy machine, not one for frequent moving from room to room, but find a good spot to leave it and it’s good enough to dehumidify an average house. Second – the Hepa filters would be quite costly to replace regularly so I am using this without one at the moment; I just wonder if the basic filter is fine enough to not let too much dust through to accumulate inside the machine. Nevertheless, this machine is doing a very good job at the moment and seems robust enough to last for a few years (hopefully).

Well pleased with the Meac 20 LE
This dehumidifier replaced an Ebac 6000 which had had to be returned at manufacturer twice so decided to go for a different a,e when it finally gave up the ghost after 4 or5 years. I am delighted with the Meal, it comes fitted with castors and a handle as standard which makes it much easier to move about. The air outlet is at the top of the machine with a moving airflow direction flap, which is ideal if you have to dry washing indoors, obviously on an airer near it not on the dehumidifier. It does produce some noise, as any machine with a fan will, but I don’t find it obtrusive. After a couple of months use I am delighted with the Meac, it is doing all I would want and definitely controls the condensation.
Great product.
Amazed at how much water this takes out of the atmosphere. Really good at drying washing. It’s a bit heavy to carry up the stairs but I can do it. Can’t comment on the energy efficiency really as wouldn’t be able to work it out!

Efficient and quiet.
Expensive but maybe that’s what you pay to get the job done. It is efficient in reducing the humidity, which this house needed. Also another sign for us needing one was the sight of condensation running down the windows In our large north facing bays in the lounge and main bedroom each morning.
It does the job, but it is bulky and heavy, the wife leaves it to me to take it up or down the stairs. It’s quiet, especially on the lower fan setting.
All about it.
It was the best gift given to myself and home.
I’m saving to grab a second one. It keeps my home dry and I use less the heating boiler.
Also seldom notice when it’s cold outside unless I step out. Definitely you won’t regret any dime invested.

It's loud
it is great, but it works loud so when a child is sleeping, it cannot be turned o
I have had the Meaco 20L LE Low Energy Dehumidifier for a couple of weeks now and run it 12 hours a day in a 2 up 2 down terrace house in Somerset. On the high fan setting, with the Hepa filter connected it seems to remove about 3 litres of water from the air each day. Prior to this purchase I did have some mould here and there and have washed it away but it is too early to see whether or not it will return. I will report back after the bad weather is over.
I’d love to run it overnight in the children’s bedroom but it is simply too noisy even on the low fan setting.
Well worth the money
Having researched the options available, we ordered the MEACO 20litre dehumidifier. It’s a “Best Buy” from a highly reputable, well-known test and research entity, and a reputable UK newspaper also spoke to industry insiders who rated it as the best.
Now we’ve used it, we concur. This has MASSIVELY transformed the dampness in our home, and is the right size for our house (a standard 1930s 2 bed and a box room). We do occasionally move it to concentrate on problem rooms to target them more efficiently, and it is a heavy unit to carry so the wheels underneath are helpful.
The buttons are easy to follow, and it genuinely does help dry damp clothing hung on the airer.
Two settings (one is slightly quieter).
Ive already recommended to others, and we’d buy it again if needed.
Great dehumidifie
Purchased this to help reduce condensation during the winter months. I will say it is great easy to use easy to move around and does what it says. Excellent for drying washing couldn’t believe how quick it dries our washing
An excellent dehumidifier.
I must say this does its job well, I fitted a ‘Nest’ thermostat to our new boiler, it registered a rather high end humidity level, since Covid, this has been on my radar and it seems lots of bacteria like a higher humidity. So I started to research the various options and the MEACO fitted all my criteria. Since fitting it, our humidity has come down to an acceptable level, the noise is low enough to ignore and emptying is easy. Moving it about is not a problem, though having found a good spot, it doesn’t need that much moving. Very pleased with this purchase

Game change
My only regret is that I didn’t buy one of these sooner.
We were constantly having issues with condensation on windows in winter. Tried leaving the windows open regularly, but then of course the house was freezing, and the windows still had condensation on them. Started having issues with mould growing in corners of rooms. One room smelled of damp, this was our own fault as we regularly hung up washing in there.
All these issues are now gone thanks to this dehumidifier. It’s brilliant for drying washing indoors as well. It’s pricey but worth every penny. The amount of water it collects is unbelievable. It’s a decent sized tank. We run ours during the day. After 2 days it’s full. Very easy to empty.
Remember to clean your filter every couple of weeks. I find taking the hand held dyson with the soft brush attachment cleans it well.
Would definitely recommend.
Second Review 6 weeks after purchase 20L
Having always struggled in my kitchen/breakfast room with very high condensation due to single brick walls and a previously failed damp course injection I decided as last resort to purchase this item. Some 6 weeks after purchase the mould on my walls and skirting board has disappeared and even the water discolouration on my wooden floors has vastly improved. When purchased the moisture reading was over 80%. Within a short space of time the reading has dropped to between 45/50%. I noticed during the last week that humidity reading had slightly risen to 54% and checked the HEPA filter which was very brown. I changed this the other day and the reading has notably dropped. If you use a HEPA filter make sure to check and replace as necessary as it will have some affect on the machines performance. I am generally emptying the full 6 litre tank every 36 hours. It is very satisfying to know that the 6 litres is poured down my sink instead of all over my walls, skirting and floor ! I cannot recommend this machine highly enough – it has been nothing short of miraculous and whilst it is definitely NOT silent it is a small price to pay for a drier and considerably healthier house !
Industrial Strength
Replaced an Ecoair dessicator with this, mainly for its larger capacity of basin and good reviews – and hoped it would handle the larger 2 floor property we had moved to. Awfully loud and a larger than our old one, but it pulls an awful lot of water out of the air. Within a few hours of first running in december, most condensation on windows had disappeared on both floors – and we havent had more then the odd condensation around the edge since (compare this to nonstop dripping last winter). Still have to empty the basin once a day but the sheer amount of water coming out of the air constantly amazes. When we hung some clothes they dried very rapidly. House feels warmer. I think that the smaller model would probably have done the job, as this feels a bit overkill, but if this doesnt do the job for you, good luck finding something that does.
Works!
Works like a dream. Was getting condensation in the lounge by patio doors. First night left this on and boom, no more condensation, no more mould. Not ber quiet but tolerable – would purchase again. Filters easy to replace. So far very happy
Great machine
Had to replace an older model, and this seemed to have the best reviews.
And the reviews were spot on, very good at drying a rack of washing at a fraction of the cost of a tumble dryer and very quiet.
Fantastic....but definitely not quiet!
This has in a few days already proved very effective at reducing the humidity in our large 4 bedroom house in wettest Wales. The previous owners had stupidly blocked up fireplaces without properly venting them which resulted in damp and condensation problems. The dehumidifier has rectified this thankfully. When we moved in the bedroom windows were absolutely covered with condensation in the morning’s but after running this for just one night that never happened again. It’s filling the tank once or twice a day. That’s the good bit….
The bad bit is the noise. It’s certainly not quiet. It’s obtrusively loud and sounds like you’re on an aeroplane. It has two fan speeds but there’s really not much difference between them. It remains on almost constantly. But as I say, it’s doing a fantastic job so we live with the noise.
Excelle
We bought this because we get alot of condensation that lead to damp and mould since we have been using the machine we have no mould
It is surprising how much water there is in the ai
We moved into our house about 18 months ago and despite all my efforts to improve the heating efficiency and installation the house always felt cold. After further investigation I found that the humidity levels in the house were extremely high (70%) which had been caused by the house barely being lived in and poor heating for 10 years before we bought it. I tried everything to bring the humidity down, but could barely keep it below 60%.
After a lot of research I settled on this unit and have not been disappointed. It has now been up and running for almost 2 months and the house feels much warmer. Humidity levels have now dropped below 50%. I use the unit instead of an extractor fan on the bathroom meaning the heat is retained without the damp. I have found that moving it around the house brings the best results. It will drop room humidity well, but it’s also effective on the whole house (I live in a 3 bed semi).
The unit has been on constantly since purchasing without any issues. Remember to clean the filter regularly to keep it working at its best. It’s also worth mentioning that the displayed humidity is out by between 5% & 10% on the rooms humidity as it measures the internal humidity of the unit not the room humidity. The power usage is noticeable, but not excessive
Amazing!! Best machine we ever bought!
Oh my god what a difference this machine has made to our lives.
Last year we moved into a new house with a terrible heating system and as a consequence we suffered really badly with black mould literally covering the walls in two rooms due to condensation.
We bought this machine and ran it constantly for a few weeks which reduced our humidity levels from 87% to around 50%.
Not only has it completely stopped our condensation but we have no mould and the house is generally warmer by around 3-4 degrees.
We were totally miserable in our new house last year and now it’s a completely different place.
Our heating bills have reduced by 25% so this will have paid for itself within 5-6 months.
I cannot thank Meaco enough. You have literally changed our lives.
brilliant, does a great job worth every penny
brilliant, really sucks the water out of the walls and clears condensation, easy to move, east to operate , a life saver.
glad we bought 2 of them for a large 4 bedroom Victorian house.
worth the money, you pay for what you ge
Really worth buying!
I love this machine and am very happy that I bought it! I had so much condensation in my house on the windows that every morning in winter I had to mop it up with lots of kitchen roll! I had tried lots different ways to prevent it and nothing seemed to work! I’ve now been using my dehumidifier for about a week and I have NO condensation! Its amazing! The machine is easy to move because it has a handle and wheels although it is a bit heavy to carry upstairs. When its on it sounds like a fan. On full it is slightly noisy but its like background noise and my kids like the sound when they go to sleep! I cant comment yet on energy efficiency because I’ve not had it long! But it is called a Low Energy machine! Although initially its quite expensive- i really think its worth the money especially for a 3-5 bedroom house!
Brillia
We bout this last week. I’m so surprised at how much moisture this collects. We use in for our conservatory, we’re in Scotland. We need to empty it every morning, as it’s full, but it’s winter, so it’s not surprising. It has great safety security, which is fab. It’s really quiet too. Overall very happy
A good little dehumidifier, though mine is noisy.
I already have the larger sibling to this device, which is excellent and unobtrusive. My 12L machine works effectively to dry a loft room which had previously suffered from condensation. Alas, it is noisy: the case thrums whenever the compressor cuts in which is unpleasant to be in the same room with and can be distinctly heard in the rooms below if left running overnight. I don’t know if this is a general issue or just my particular machine.
Quality and does the job!
I live in an old Victorian property, big rooms and high ceilings. Constant problems with condensation caused black mould and water running down the walls. All changed now! Additionally the property is a little warmer and feels more comfortable. A large 6 litre water draw means I only have to change it once a day. Definitely recommend!!
Great produc
Bought this as I was constantly battling with condensation and mould in my house and was hoping it would help.
When I turned it on it showed humidity level 92%. After a week it went down to 54-62%. It’s downstairs for overnight and upstairs during the day, usually have to empty twice a day. The air feels fresher, cleaner. The heavy mouldy smell is gone and the laundry dries within a day instead of 3-4 days. I’m really satisfied with this product. For measures I live in a 2 bedroom house
It does what promised.
I got it a month ago. Before that in the cold season, window frames, double-glazed windows, garden doors were covered with a dense layer of condensation. Humidity did not fall below 70%. At a house temperature of 22 and an initial humidity of 75%, the dehumidifier collected ~ 3-4 liters of water per not full day opearting, which approximately corresponds to the declared characteristics. Indoor humidity has dropped to 57%. The temperature outside is +5. Windows, doors, toilet cistern are dry now. In terms of noise: at an acceptable level. You can hear that the device is functioning, but not annoying. Especially considering the benefits it brings. Also liked the build quality and materials. I am only uncertain about humidity in built meter. It shows different figures from professional meter. But may be it is humidity inside of the machine.
It is not heavy and has handle to carry.
I would give 4.5 stars.
So pleased
Very pleased I ordered this dehumidifier.
I had looked at other makes but went with this as it was reviewed highly by which magazine.
The machine is very easy to use and easy to move as it has wheels.
It’s amazing how much water it draws out of the air. The house was feeling damp and a musty smell with condensation build up. Received it on Saturday and by Tuesday the house didn’t feel damp any more and the smell has gone. We did use over night and It didn’t interfer with sleep (just like having a fan on in the summer). We now leave it on the continuous setting and it shuts off automatically when the chosen level is reached.
Use for removing damp and drying washing.!!!
Originally bought as we had some damp to sort out in the caravan so that was the main reason for purchase. We then thought it would also take the moisture out of damp washing so we also set it up in the bathroom for this and it works really well and is a lot more energy efficient .As there is no heating element like a tumble dryer it is a lot cheaper so will definitely keep on using it for this reason.Would buy again and in fact our daughter is thinking of getting one instead of a tumble dryer.
Does what it says on the ti
If you are looking for a dehumidifier and wondering which one then stop; buy this one. It works really well, is simple to set up, has a large water collector, and really sucks the moisture from the air. It is very easy to set the humidity level.
It could be considered a little noisy but it is not a distracting sound; more like a soft white noise used to block out other sounds.
Good produc
So far so good. We’ve only had it for a short while but it does the job. We can feel a difference already but will review it properly after a few more weeks. Easy to use and move around. Would recommend.
Excellent portable dehumidifier with an Achilles heel.
Like: very quiet for power involved: energy saving (switches off on reaching set humidity for a time delay, then tries again in case the humidity has risen:) portability (stout carrying handle and castor wheels.)
Not so good: emptying the reservoir: it doesn’t pour very neatly: start outside or bath/shower tray, with practice, kitchen sink or loo. (Tip: it is easier if you empty it before it is completely full.)
Achilles heel: the power lead. If you keep the unit in one place, you won’t have a problem but portability was a selling point for me. The lead is flexible but not the sort you would find on a corded vacuum cleaner or portable power tool and is not suitable for repeated flexing, made worse by lack of cable support where the lead exits the casing. One of the conductors broke within the insulation at this point – but I was moving it three times a day.
Powerful but noisy
Very powerful – I use it in a large cupboard to dry laundry on a clothes horse and it easily dries two full loads overnight. However it’s extremely loud compared to our previous smaller model and I’m glad it’s shut away.
Works well, built well.
This works far better than an older one of a similar size, for the first time I could see the humidity fall below 59 percent in our old property, took out more water, quicker. The noise level is ok on high and reasonable on low. For me the HEPA filter is a game changer, it has already reduced the dust levels after less than a weeks intermittent operation.
Imprest, really efficient compact uni
Woow! Very efficient, it removes most of the moisture from the room, from 90% to 60%, didn’t achieved lower than that, but temp of the room is around 20′ so it probably be better if was warmer. Anyway, 2liters of water in 3h, hepa filter handy, after a week of using it I see huge improvement. Very good quality of build, I hope it last for a while.
This option is better than bigger one, it does not take to much space, its reasonable quiet but you can forget about sleeping with it in the same room, simply turn it off before.
It works !
We use it in a basement flat, it’s amazing the amount of water it removes
This dehumidifier is so well made, and it's made in the UK too.
I had a flood and had it on for 8 hours at a time overnight and in 2 nights it had sucked 12 litres out of the air. I also brought the hepa filters so the air is cleaned too. An amazing product.
I’ve had a few dehumidifiers over the years, but this is the best one yet. As per the instruction manual supplied, it takes a few weeks for the dehumidifier to stabilise the humidity levels. After that, it consistently takes in about 3 to 4 litres of water each day, and cuts out when the pre-set humidity level is reached (I set mine to humidity level 55). The tank holds 2.5 litres, so it is convenient to empty the machine just twice per day (say, first thing in the morning, then again early evening). The noise level of the dehumidifier is quite low and it seems to be relatively energy efficient. The water tank is at the back of the machine, so if the dehumidifier is located in the corner of a room, it will have to be turned each time in order to access the tank (no big deal). Very happy with this machine!
his does what it says on the tin and does so efficiently. the unit will turn off automatically when full and when the desired RH has been reached. one thing I did find disappointing is that the instructional leaflet doesn’t include information on the fact that the RH reading on the machine is internal rather than environmental and this results in the unit consistently reading between 8 and 10% more RH that an a hygrometer. this could result in you setting you RH to say 50% but the RH of the environment will be 8 to 10% lower that that for it to turn off. I called the company to confirm this and advised them it may be wise to include this information in their instructional leaflets. other than that its a great little machine and I have worked out that it will cost me roughly 12 to 14 per month to run 24/7.

Fantastic Produc
I’m gob smacked at how quickly this has pulled out the moisture from the upstairs rooms in my home in such a small space of time. Impressed with the indicator on the unit that shows the moisture / humidity levels and within in less than an hour it was reduced by 10%.
It’s nice and compact, with a solid carrying handle. This is the first Meaco I’ve purchased, and it’s far better than a different branded unit that I’ve had for a few years.
The delivery was very quick, you can find it slightly cheaper elsewhere is my only negative.
Excellent dehumidifie
Fantastic dehumidifier pulls off such a lot of moisture in a fairly short space of time.
We live in an old granite house, so no damp course, this is drying the house and furniture really thoroughly. I have had many dehumidifiers over the years but this is the best by miles, a little pricey but so worth it the house feels so much warmer !! “WHICH” know their stuff.
Saved our oak flooring!!
We purchased this dehumidifier because the very warm weather this summer caused our oak flooring to swell and raise. The same thing happened last year, and we called in the flooring people to replace a couple of lengths of oak. That took several weeks during which time we had to leave the floor to dry out with a wide gap.
With this dehumidifier, the oak flooring dried out enough to be nearly flat within 48 hours, and was completely back to normal within 4 days. We now use the dehumidifier constantly to maintain lower humidity in the house.
That it works
Got it in the lounge use it over night stop condensation in all the windows up stairs as well makes the hole house warmer. Running costs are very good
Best Dehumidifie
By nature of their job, there’s always a little bit of sound emanating from dehumidifiers – but this is not annoying and indeed much quieter than any dehumidifier I’ve had previously. It’s also the best made! I dry my washing in-house and the Meaco copes admirably, not only with drying clothes, but with damp in the air from the shower and from the British weather!!!
Good dehumidifier, could be better.
Quite loud, though has a slower fan speed. Almost imp8ssible to attach external hose for draining, instructions very poor. Also it re-heats the cold air, yet would be efficient and helpful to leave the air cool for hot weather, to double as a cooler. May also be helpful to warm air in winter, so controllable heater system would be good. On the whole, does a good job and mostly happy.
Superb!
Superb product. Easy to use, well made and is a real workhorse. You won’t believe how much water this device pulls out of the atmosphere it’s put in. Well worth every penny!

Very effective
Very damp room in an old house we are about to renovate. Ran this unit for a few days and dried the whole place. Would probably be useful if drying a property after a flood, but very good anywhere there’s damp.

Wish i had bought one sooner!
My wife has COPD, anything that helps her is worth every penny spent, it has HEPA filters which on its own makes it beneficial, we live in a bungalow and this device improves the air quality/humidity pretty much throughout, keeping humidity at around 40 helps a great deal, for the first week it was going all out and filling up the water container every 20-24 hours, not a small amount, now i only have to use the dehumidifier function for a few hours a day, the rest of the time its in AP or air purification mode. Would not be without this!
Generally very happy
So far (a month in) it’s doing a good job. It’s super easy to move about, unload and set up.
Only negative is it’s a bit noisy and occasionally rattles a bit, but nothing a brief tap doesn’t seem to resolve.
Get a bigger one if you can afford i
I ordered this for my parents to replace their very old one that had stopped working. It’s smaller in capacity than the old one, but they were focusing on the price. It works fine, but as the container is smaller, they are having to empty it more frequently which they find inconvenient.
What a difference this latest up to date 20L dehumidifier from Meaco makes. It now comes with an optional air purifying filter as well as its excellent ability to dehumidify our home. The air purification filter adds an additional ‘load’ to the air induction volume but is well worth the small energy increase. This new addition to our home replaces our first 20L Meaco which died after eight years loyal service. Our second is still operating non stop in our cellar and is five years old. As for our new model, we now have clean air as well as a cleverly controlled humidity level control. The laundry setting for indoor drying is still easy to use and continues to save us the additional cost of a ‘tumble drier.’ Thank you Meaco. Thank you Amazon.

Reliable and efficie
I already have two of the larger ones. They really are excellent. I think the claims as to the volume affected are a little optimistic (as is true, I’m sure, for other brands)… but they certainly make a huge difference. I bought the first one about four years ago and it’s still going strong. Very pleased.
Good, reliable product.
I purchased this quite some time ago now. I waited before leaving the review to be sure of the performance. I read many reviews before purchasing. The one comment that stood out was regarging the energy efficiency, that it was too expensive to run. Honestly, I can’t validate this comment as I don’t have a smart meter but I haven’t noticed much difference in my bills. I don’t have this on permanently, only in the winter when needed. it works well and helps with mold forming around the window frames etc. I don’t find it noisy but it is a little heavy to carry around the house. However, since it has wheels you won’t have to do this unless you need to lift from wooden floor to carpeted areas. It is easy to see when it needs emptying, so I have never had the alert go off – although I think it has one for when it reaches full capacity. But 20l is quite a lot so I don’t think this will ever get full in one go. I highly recommend this product.
Been very good
Had this for 9 months so far and no problems, I have a casio alarm clock that oddly has humidity levels and it’s within 2 or 3% of what the Meaco thinks it is, or vice versa.
I’d recommend reading Meacos advice about dehumidifiers especially how it can take time to bring down humidity levels. it runs far less than it used to , turns on every 30 minutes to check and then stops most days now.
Overall a great product that I’d imagine they QC well from the reviews including my own experience.
Efficient produc
Using it on a daily basis as our flat is really humid.
Very efficient. Automatic stops when reach the humidity required, also stop when water tank is full.
Definitely should by it earlie
ecommend it!!
its a really good dehumidifier!! expensive but worth the money for sure.
i had a peo breeze first what more watteg amd less money but i sent it back aftera week.
this one is way less watteg and works as meant to.
it works now 4 month without turning it off.
i had a big mould problem in winter times but not anymore.
I had a problem with damp encroaching into my garage. Not any more. This wee beastie is a gem. I have emptied the thing almost every day and it has dried the garage out a treat. With the warmer weather I now just have it on tick-over and empty once a week / 10 days – no more mould no more mildew. BTW – it works really well in the bitter cold too – unlike many of its competitors. Top of the Best Buy list in Which Magazines for this price range, and deservedly so.
Very good
It is portable, not heavy and very easy to set up. Make sure you don’t forget to open the vent for the air to pass. you will see that it catches a lot of dirt from the air and from your lungs
A bit disappointed
Expected this to give out more heat. I have had 2 previous appliances from different manufacturers which really dried and really took the chill off the room. This does not.
Read some reviews which said it did.
It is very noisy too.
Easy to empty and keeps the condensation away. Quite expensive for what it is.
Not sure l would buy a second one
I would like to trim it down.
Symptoms:
Wake up in the morning and starts sneezing.
starts running nose.
starts watery eyes.
This only ends if i leave my house, go to job or any other place then my flat, but if i stay situation will be getting worse and worse every hour.
In my family only i have this problem, but since i bought this De-humidifier all allergies stopped, the flat looks a bit warm and good atmosphere in the flat.
This machine is a bit noisy to keep it running at night, but it is very good to clean air,
On the side note i would like to say, our flat is very very old and very very small like most flats/houses in UK, But why in UK authorities not making big houses, i have seen some new dwellings as well but they are way too small. sometimes you open your main door and you will see your neighbour standing face to face on his main door. In England houses are built by private contractors who are greedy and to save spaces they build as small houses as possible, if you seen the new open plan kitchens which are actually they stick appliances on one wall of sitting room and done 21 century kitchen is ready.
The Govt. should make it law to make big houses, double rooms should atleast take a super king size bed, they should be laws about wide walk ways etc.
Excellent produc
Really efficient and easy to use and love the way it turns itself on and off after checking the humidity level. It’s meeting all our expectations and would heartily recommend
machine that works well straight out of the box
Bought this for my daughter who was occupying a flat where condensation was running down the windows. She has only had to use the machine sparingly to alleviate the problem and it has helped enormously with drying of clothes, which was previously virtually impossible in the fla
Helps dry washing
Purchased to help dry washing. hang up washing in the small room with the dehumidifier on and dries fully within the day even in the dead of winter.
Very handy in a house which does not have a tumble dryer that does have two childre
It's a great machine
I love this dehumidifier. There are five of us in a small two bedroom house and we were suffering with lots of condensation and black mould. Over the summer I cleaned all the mould away (yet again), and after that set this machine going on the landing. It’s now January and there is not a hint of mould anywhere and the house is dry and feels so much better. I wouldn’t be without it.
There are some products you’re never going to get excited about, particularly a noisy energy munching water collector. That said, it’s the best of the two we run daily during the colder months in our damp flat. I’d rather spend the running costs on central heating but with d/g windows that are like Niagara Falls and carpets that make your feet wet, we have little choice. It’s background noise but so long as you have subtitles on the tv, it’s not so bad. Has a good capacity tank. No idea how they say it can manage a huge house. Timer facility is useful. Easy to move around.
Highly recommended
This dehumidifier was recommended to me and It is one of the best things we have ever bought for our home. We started with humidity levels as high as 77 in the bedrooms especially first thing in the morning. We have been able to bring down the humidity levels under control throughout the house to 50-55 rh in around 3 -4 weeks . The air in the house feels lovely, light and fresh and the central heating is able to be more effective. We move the machine about as needed. Sometimes upstairs and sometimes downstairs .
The clothes drying facility works very well. Previously we would have clothes on the drying rack for 2 whole days and they would not get dry. Now clothes placed on the rack are dried overnight when I use the dehumidifier in the same room. This machine is a credible alternative to a tumble dryer and I imagine a whole lot cheaper to run.
I purchased this using Amazon’s ‘pay monthly ‘ facility which has been an added bonus . Highly recommended piece of kit.

Excelle
Does exactly what I need it to do.
It made the quality of the air in our dining room so much nicer within just a few hours and our old damp house is starting to feel much dryer.
It does make a noise but it’s a fairly quiet hum in comparison to others I’ve used.
Excellent purchase.
My flat suffers terribly with damp -for a number of reasons -its single block walls with only an inch of polystyrene insulation, it has no central heating -so the windows don’t get left open much in autumn / winter / spring -say what you like about how you should open windows during the day -me and my partner both work, and it gets down to 8 degrees in the flat in the winter with the windows shut (with a small oil radiator to stop it freezing) -and it gets a lot colder with them open! This machine is a great compromise -it dries everything out at a low cost and even seems to warm slightly. It is annoying that it forgets its last setting if the power gets interrupted, and the smart oscillating louvre feature, that i thought would help move damp air around only actually functions for a few minutes and then stops. I’m always surprised that units like this don’t have an ‘air-conditioning’ feature for the summer -because i’m pretty sure they use a similar refrigerant-condenser system like an air conditioner, but hey ho -it does have a ‘just blow air around’ setting so you can use it as a fan. Attractive. Big water capacity. Really pleased with it.
Wish I had brought this years ago!
Has helped our condensation levels so much! Wish we had brought this years ago. No longer have any condensation on the windows even when drying washing. Big tank so don’t have to empty too often. Makes a bit of noise but nothing that disturbs us even when sleeping. Haven’t noticed an increase in energy use so I would say it’s efficient.
24/7
We place a hose in the back and drain the water to ensure we can run these machines 24/7 (mostly in our basement). The main attraction is the low energy performance, but I do have issues with the noise and sometimes the occasional machine will endlessly vibrate until you turn it off and move it around. But in general very reliable and they do their job; they extract many tens of liters per day from our house.
Does what it says
Works very well in a flat that has open plan dining and kitchen…great for bringing down the condensation
Could be a bit quiete
Brilliant dehumidifie
This is the third dehumidifier I have bought. The previous two were Ecoair and stopped working after a year or so. Also the replacement filters were a silly price. So I read all the reviews before buying this Meaco and have to say I am absolutely delighted with it’s performance. We live in a bungalow and condensation is a really big problem in the winter, causing mould and blistering the window cills. Within 2 days it has stopped the condensation on the windows completely. It has a huge collection capacity, which I empty twice a day. It is not noisy. There is an option to add a filter should you wish. They included one with the machine. I have had a look and replacements are about 32 for three filters, which is really good value.
I just hope this Meaco lasts longer than the Ecoair. I really hope so as it’s an awesome piece of kit.
Very satisfied even though first one failed after 6 months.
My first one failed after 6 months – the fan stopped working.
Amazon replaced it first thing the next day. Amazing service.
Though It did cost me about 25 to post the faulty one back to Amazon who then refunded me their standard delivery fee of about 5. Still happy with that though.
The dehumidifier is very effective.
No working with email pri
Has no filter, has no instruction book, and is not new and does not work.i have been Waiting for 2months and they are not coming to pick up.the print for collecting not working But i screenshoted it and print it and it did not work through email and i was Waiting for you to collect.
Very happy with this dehumidifie
Very good dehumidifier, collects lots of water , specially when drying clothes . We have large house and lots of washing for family of 5 plus pets. I still find a bit of water in one bedroom on the window but it’s understandable with 3 story house and that many rooms. Overall well worth the money .
Quality dehumidifie
This dehumidifier is sturdy and really works. I use it to keep damp levels down in my bathroom and kitchen during the winter months. Have used it for 9 months now and it works like new. Easy to empty the tank also, which is important.
