Good light, detecting motion well and with a good battery life.
Lots of similar devices only detect motion when in complete darkness, but this one seems to detect motion even if there is some light around.
Light is quite bright and sufficient to light up a small area, like a shed or a cupboard.
Main drawback is that the device is using bulky and heavy C batteries, as opposed to AA ones, meaning it’s quite heavy when the batteries are inserted, and therefore will need to be screwed to the wall, as opposed to just stuck.

This is the third one of their models that I’ve bought. Good concepts, and superb product design and quality. Their stuff simply works. Plain and simple.
They’re not rechargeable units, but a standard battery will last me ages for the amount of work it needs to do. And solar/rechargeable lights *will* fail after a few years – I prefer the simplicity and reliability.

I baught the several of these lights to light my foot path as it is very dark at the side of the house. These lights are very responsive and work very well. The best thing is you do not need to run any cables you place the light where you want them. They are very easy to install and I highly recommend them. Item as described and fast delivery.

So much easier that hard wiring. Not too bright, but bright enough for access to our bins in the dark and casting light in our shed.

I’ve found these to be ideal to light up a few steps leading up to my front door. They don’t need any wiring and are discreet and economical. Mine are outside in the elements and haven’t had any problems with water getting inside. A good product.

I use several of these battery operated emergency lights and I love them, they have solved many problems for me. One thing that I had not realised is that if they start misbehaving it simply means that they need a battery change. The batteries tend to last a couple of years so it is easy to forget! THESE ARE A DEFINITE BUY.

The ‘colour’ of the light is a little cold and harsh for my taste and it would be nice if the intensity could be lowered but the light works reliably and as described.

Needed a small, discreet unit that didn’t stay on too long or that was blindingly bright – this does the job well. Not yet been fully tested in bad or winter weather which is important to me as I bought it on the understanding that it’s suitable for outdoor use.

Got one of these for the under-stairs cupboard. Nice bright light (for a small to medium area) every time we bob in there. Works perfectly. Very impressed so bought two more for other storage spaces. No need for torches now, keeping hands free for getting stuff in or out of the cupboards. Light generally stays on long enough, but a quick wave of the hand brings it back on if needed. Batteries in our first light have just run out (at which point the light won’t switch off, and I assume would eventually fade out completely) 26 months after installing, so battery life is v good – new set of batteries (3 x C) and all working well again.
Back light excellent. Main light not too dazzling.
It does what it says on the box! Will be purchasing another to put in a darkened recess of my home that needs light on occasion. Highly recommended.
Haven’t used yet as I was unaware when purchasing that this needs x3 C batteries not AAA as I had just presumed. It seems like a robust light but hope the cost of x3 C batteries means it will be cost effect when I’ve bought the batteries and they last! Can’t score higher stars yet as again I’ve not used.
Purchased batteries and only changed once so far, but I only use my light as a night light in hallway. Would definitely recommend!

Well made. Simple solution to side walkway to house. Work fine and look unobtrusive. Nice to have the nighttime pilot light setting too, which reinforces a sense of secured premises.

V pleased with this light. Have placed it above front door on fascia board. Didn’t want to screw it to board so stuck it with sticky back Velcro which holds it very securely. I have the glow switched on which comes on when it gets dark then it lights up fully when people approach the door. Not over bright but just enough to see the way. Ideal.

Works well but the sensor could have been toned down a bit as it fires at about 15 feet so anyone walking past trips it, I only wanted it to work within 6 feet of the front door so I can see the key hole

Purchased a pair of these to light a pathway. We looked at various lights but didn’t want electric and needed something to fit on a fence and shine on the floor. These fit the bill, easy to fit and set up, shows a good light – brilliant. Just ordered 2 more !!

Arrived on time. Well packed. Such a great product. We bought two for our daughter’s house which is in a fairly dark street. The product is dawn to dusk but has a very low glow until you are near to it. It stays bright long enough to find keys and use them. Not a problem for neighbours.

Handy little ligh
Nice little light. A bit smaller than I thought but very useful.
Does exactly what I want it to do. It may be designed as a step light, but I have it in a dark corner of my bathroom on a wall above a cupboard where I keep linens. It only comes on when I get close and illuminates the area brilliantly. This is a very bright light for its small size. Turns off automatically after 30 seconds or so when there is no movement which means it will stay on when I am in the area doing things, and turn off shortly after I leave.

This little PIR security light is an excellent find, which I needed for the front porch to illuminate the door key hole and to enable keys to be found easily in the dark. Fitting could not be easier, as when the back is removed to fit batteries, the back plate can be used as a template to mark up the holes for drilling and fixing the unit in position (screws and rawlplugs also included), absolute genius. The product is very well made, neat in appearance, the PIR is very consistent in operation and light output is more than adequate to illuminate the area from a metre away. This is the one to buy.

This is my second purchase of the MB530. The first one is in use outside to illuminate some steps. it has been extremely reliable for nearly three years and the batteries require changing only once a year or so!

Said to be ok for outdoors, but it looked to me as though the seal may not be completely watertight so added a layer of strong, easily-removable, tape around the join. No problems so far after two weeks. Recommended.

Got 4 of these now. 1st was bought about 18 months ago and still haven’t changed the battery. Gives a good amount of light perfect for the side passage and have so far survived all weather conditions.

Really useful light for odd corners outside as well as in. I have one at the front door illuminating the step and another above the rubbish bins so I can see which is which in the dark. Easy to fit and long battery life.

Really pleased with this unit. Has done a great job of lighting a dark garden path. Had a problem with the light not staying on but when I contacted the company there was not quibble and a new unit was sent immediately.

paid less than 13 quid – now have 2 of these. they work well and stand up to the weather. they wont light your whoile garden up but if you want a bit of light in dark alley for example this will do the job nicely.

I needed it to light up a combination lock on my side gate. It works very well, is easy to fit. It provides more than enough light and the PIR sensor works as well as any other I have had.
This is a great little product. I used it to light some external steps. It was very easy to fix and works great!
Neat little light , not as bright as expected but just adequate or our needs. the batteries should last quite some time if you switch it to movement detected mode otherwise it will glow all the time and drastically shorten the life of the batteries
My front door is recessed underneath the second floor of my house making it almost impossible to see the key hole when dark

So far, so good – bought to light dangerous outdoor steps in garden and, although it’s only been up a week, it’s great. Comes on quickly and stays on exactly the right length of time. Good price and seems well constructed. Much better than the 3 solar powered lights I’ve tried before – complete waste of time and money. I’ve bought another one for the top of the garden now, I’m so impressed.

Great light. Delivery 2-3 days which was fine as it was free.
Easy to fit and looks good in place. Has a decent sensory angle and easily picks up people before they enter the “dark & dangerous step zone” on my stairs.
My only criticism is that it works 24 hours a day and would be worth a little more for a built in dusk till dawn light sensor.
I bought this as a temporary lighting…but its very good and I and I may not need to but anything else.
My original porch light stopped working so I needed this one in the mean time. It is brighter than I anticipated and does everything it says .I don’t think I need any replacement for this….Excellent product.

Over the last 2 years we have bought 4 of these lights, all for indoors use, and they have given excellent service. the light is bright, and using them with rechargeable batteries they last 12 months of service on our stairs and landings. Highly recommend.
When I saw these lights I didn’t order them at first because I thought they were a little expensive.
But after reading the reviews,I decided to purchase 2.
I am not disappointed with my purchase, they work very well.
But I will just mention that its ashame they don’t run on AA batteries.
I bought this to set it up at work for leaving in the dark evenings and the stair case hall is closed down. So this little light is doing a great job lighting up when I open the door from the office and steps out in to the stairs and it gives enough light to find the key hole and to lead me downstairs to lock the outside door. Can’t fail this product as it’s doing what I wanted.
