Loves his torch can only use it in a dark place as you wont see the pictures of the dinosaurs
Got 2 of these as part of Xmas gifts for the grandkids. They are a lot smaller than I thought they were! Though look like the kids will have great fun playing with them. I’ll write a review for all these toys I’ve bought after Xmas once I know how the kids liked them.

Came absolutley battered in the box however- folded, creased and with front packaging missing either from being wet or being scraped on something. Looks an absolute mess . This was for a gift as well but I was able to explain to the parent who was fine. Really disappointed. Damaged packaging was placed in the robust amazon box so it was the delivery that was the problem… item was clearly damaged before it got se

It was smaller than expected when it arrived so disappointing at first glance. Once opened you can see the torch is good quality as are the slides. My 3 year old loves his and on second thought the torch is the perfect size for his little hands. Perfect gift for the price.
Great little extra gift for my Dino mad 4 yo. Needs LR44 batteries which is quite common in kids toys these days. Batteries lasting well and seems robust to last for some time with him. Like the fact you can focus turning the end of the torch.
Great fun little product but the picture is fuzzy and out of focus. This can be remedied by putting a little back pressure on the picture wheel to change the focal distance. So it is an inconvenience born of either poor design or manufacture, otherwise, a great little stocking filler.

Really fun and educational too. Works great in a dark room not so good during daylight.
The disks are pretty small and will probably be lost pretty quickly , a small case for all the pieces would have been a nice touch to go with the torch and disks.

I bought this as my daughter currently loves anything “dinosaurus ” and because its a natural museum product thought it would really interesting for her but I was a bit disappointed with the projections tbh , they are not as clear as you would think, also pictures could have been better ! and the larger you want to view it the less clearer it becomes so overall good but not fab
This item was much smaller then I had expected, but my nephew 4 years old enjoyed it. Works really well in a dark room.
This was a little gift for my godson who is 3 years old and he loved it. The discs however can be easily lost somewhat and he had to learn how to insert the discs into the torch. Other than that, he loved it.

Great stocking filler for my 3yr old great nephew he loves it.
Wasn’t expecting much for the price but my toddler loves dinosaurs so thought this might amuse him for a little while. He absolutely loves it and shines it on the ceiling and walls every night and have to shut the curtains so he can do it in the day as well. Once u focus the pictures depending how far away the surface is you are shinning on they become very clear and easy for him to spin the dial through the pictures I just have to change between the 3 reels that come with it for him.
So much better than I expected! This was a great price for the product. It was smaller than I anticipated but that’s no issue. Impressed with the clarity of the pictures, the depth of colour, and how far you can project them!

A pouch for this would be a great edition as the disks for it are tiny and so easily lost with little fingers involved !

This is a fab little torch- my 2 year-old twins LOVE this. It’s great value for money, and the different discs have good content on them. If it’s not clear on the instructions you need to twist the light end of the torch to focus the image. Have recommended to others and even bought a second one with a different theme.
My child loves this torch. However the battery is a round watch like one which is accessible to even a small child. The product would be much better with a child safer AAA. Any dinosaur loving preschooler would enjoy this.
It is a little fiddly to change the wheels for a small child but manageable.
This is a great idea. The films are good pictures for children. My Grandson loved it. Sadly torch is a bit flimsy but it was cheap and you get what you pay for sometimes. Would love to get same idea but with sturdier torch.

Great for kids. Needs a dark room, and needs to be focused also. But amazing images.
My nephew loved this on opening, so much so all my young neices and nephews wanted to have a go with it! I should’ve brought them all one (even the ones who are not into dinosaurs! Just have to remeber to keep the extra image discs somewhere they know to come back to, as can get lost easily in a busy household I imagine. 5 stars tho as they all thought it was entertaining – so for me great value!

Torch itself feels a bit flimsy and cheap but the images produced when using the little wheels were clear and great quality. My 4 yo found focusing the images a bit tricky by herself, but the projected is definitely one of her favourite stocking filler gifts.
I bought this for my autistic grandson who enjoyed the images as well as using it as a torch. The only down side is that the discs are a bit too fiddly for him to manage himself.

They can be focused depending how close you shine the torch on a surface, and the light is very bright behind so can be used easily during the daytime too. This kept 5 children amused for several hours over Christmas!
i brought this torch for my 3 year old grandsons christmas stocking filler .. he is dinosaur mad at the moment and had a lot of fun with it ..it was a little tricky for little hands to turn the projector wheel but with help it worked out well
Purchased a few of these as presents for 3 year olds. They loved them but I find the dials a bit flimsy when inserted like they are going to fall out when the kids are turning them. Great pictures and size for the little ones.

Great product for a dinocentric kid. My 5 year old son absolutely adores this gift. He has spent hours on end playing with it. Can hardly pull him away from it. The torch also has a great battery life. I would purchase again.
When this first arrived I thought yet another item bought online that doesnt match expectations as it was smaller than I expected
However it was a huge hit with the birthday boy and his younger sister …I now to to buy her one for her birthday

I bought this product for an 8 year old which would entertain a one year old sister too. It was excitably used on a plain white wall at Christmas and the one year old exclaimed, ‘Snap Snap!’ on seeing the dinosaur head with large teeth. The 8 year old then put the image of the dinosaur head at the one year olds feet and she danced on the spot to avoid being bitten! Ah sisterly love.
Simply torch projector with three wheels of images. Back of package identifies each image, and each wheel will lock into place for manual turning. Kids were impressed at first, and enjoyed playing with the focus, but then started running around so it didn’t entertain them much.

Love it just have to push the lense with fingers to have clear image which is hard for a two year old to do. Other than that h loves th images and the torch. Its so good and great for stories and imagination and to develop your little one vocabulaire. I bought them as gifts but used them all oups
A nice little torch/projector for the price.
The slides still get used from time to time (purchased other products/slides for variety) but is mainly used as a torch.
Easy to turn on off and is definitely bright enough (avoid flashing in the eyes obviously).
Negatives:
A couple images are poor and hard to make out. Some will look better further away while others will get blurry. Depending on the age of the child, the slides are difficult to load and to turn.
When I received the torch I couldn’t believe how small it was.

At first I was totally disappointed by this you which was for my little grandson as it was so so small. But after he received it and finding him mezerised with it I changed my mind thinking it is well worth the money I played for it. He loves to play with it a bedtime 10 minutes before sleep.
Really cool idea, however pictures are not very clear. If you push on the disc you can sharpen the focus but not something my kids could do themselves. We had a lot of fun with it Christmas morning and they still play with them 6 weeks late as regular flashlights. If you’re getting a flashlight then you will get a bonus with the picture discs as well but only in a very dark room and with some adult help to Center the image.
Will still buy again next year for stocking stuffers but with lower expectations
Both my children like this. My daughter likes taking the slides out and making animals with her hands projected on the wall. My son loves the dinosaur images.
These natural history museum brand torches are better than other brands available. They’re still not perfect, but for the price these are a good learning toy for a young child.

Another Excellent purchase from the Natural History Museum. I’ve bought these torches from them in years gone buy and the quality really is very good in every way. I bought from another brand recently and they were rubbish. For educational toys the Natural History Museum comes out tops for a first choice every time.
My 6 year old grandson is delighted with this. I’ve bought these torches before from the Natural HIstory Museum and they’re really the best quality and value for money. Don’t be duped into buying anything else. Honestly.
Much smaller than you would expect, almost key chain size. However it does what it’s supposed to. The picture slides mainly consist of sharks and whales but also some different fish. My two year old loves it regardless.
Pop in a “wheel” of slides, adjust for focus (easy) and shine on wall or ceiling.

My just turned 2 year old is obsessed with all things dinosaur- I swear the kid even dreams about them- so when I saw this for the low price I figured it was worth it.
When it arrived it was smaller than I anticipated- with 3 small looking slides.
But when I gave it to him- he was delighted- he sat in the car hugging the packet all the way home!
Once opened- set up was easy- as batteries are provided- just pull out the tag on the battery compartment and pop in your slide and you’re ready to roll.
My son was jumping up and down in delight at the projections- and we were playing with this torch for a good 2 hours….
He was loving jumping on the dinosaur when we projected it on the floor, dancing dinosaur when we projected it on the walls. He is too small to change the slides and turn the slides himself as of yet- but this product is aimed at 3+ and my son is only just 2.
Many of the images are dinosaurs, some are fossils, odd one or two is of spikes or a claw.
All said and done this is a childs toy- it’s small for their little hands, the projections are clear- but they’re not HD- because lefts face it- it’s aimed at kids and cost you a fiver……just enjoy you’re childs entertainment- they don’t care its a little bit blurry- all they’re bothered about is that dinosaur on the living room wall!!
Good, colour dinosaur pictures (of actual dinosaur species) although needs darkness to be identifiable. Projects well onto a wall or ceiling 1 to 2 metres away. Nice size for small hands and easy to operate. Was popular with 2.5 yr old girl and the changeable picture means it’s fun for longer.
I have bought a number of these as presents, all kids love them although the younger ones might find the rather realistic photos a little scary. It’s a shame you can’t easily find new discs for them but the light is so cheap it doesn’t matter too much.

My three year old son was given this as a gift and we have all been so impressed with it (he loves it!) that we have since bought another one for a friends 5 year old son and it has been a bit hit for them also! I think it has an appeal to a wide age range, though particularly 3-6 years. My three year old delights in the fact that he has his own little gadget coupled with his love of dinosaurs and I love the fact that it is educational in both science (the mechanism of the projector) and also natural history. To be honest, it’s also just very cool to be able to project big dinosaurs on to your bedroom ceiling and walls, and make them look like they are eating your parents and siblings heads isn’t it?!

I bought this for my toddler grandson who is dinosaur crazy. Endless hours of fun, he just won’t put it down. This isn’t just a toy it is a great little teaching aid too. My daughters friends are impressed with it so much I’ve been asked to order two more for their kids too!
What more can I say…
I purchased this for my then 2 and a half year old godson about a year ago. I am determined that he will be a massive geek and love all things science related. Best get started with the brainwashing early I say. I purchased both the Space Torch and the Dinosaur torch. The discs are interchangeable with either torch. The images project onto ceilings or walls brilliantly. You can adjust the focus to get a nice crisp image. Getting the discs in is a bit fiddly and but once inserted, you rotate the disc to see the next image. They were an instant hit with my godson. His parents periodically “misplace” the torches so they could be rediscovered. Any time they reappear, he’s just as excited as the first day he received it. As he gets older, we are able to talk more about the images he’s seeing…what the different dinosaur names are, what the different galaxies look like, etc. I’m looking forward to what he comes up with in the years ahead.
my 4yr old loves dinosaurs and loves this – uses it as a little torch most of the time but when we help him load the discs he loves projecting the dinosaurs onto the wall and getting closer/further away to make them smaller or bigger! Good little gadget at a reasonable price. Replacement batteries are very cheap – just as well as he take the torch to bed often leaving it on all night!
My son turned 4 last week and I knew he wanted a torch to play with. After looking in shops (nothing decent), I browsed Amazon and found this one. For the price – brilliant. Lots of little dinosaur pictures to be projected on the wall and a normal torch if you want it.

He’s fascinated with it and as a small birthday gift, it’s near perfect. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that I agree with other reviewers; produce one in a larger size please. We’d pay the extra!
I bought this for a present for a 3 year old. She loved it and immediately took it to her darkened bedroom to use it. My 3 year old boy loved it and wanted to play with it as well. He then received it as a present from someone else at his party! It made him so happy, he kept making the t rex walk across the carpet and ignored All other toys! Pictures are blurry when big but good at short distance.
