Compacto pero mato
Noctua siempre cumple con mis expectativas y este NH-U12S no es para menos. Mantiene un I5-12600 a menos de 50C jugando, con temepratura ambiente de 25C. A prueba de estress llega a las 65C. Es una bestia para el poco tamao que tiene.
Ventilateur Silencieux
Install sur un ryzen 5 3600x, celui ci ne chauffe pas du tout. Le ventilateur est trs silencieux. Design digne de Noctua.

Ho atteso prima di lasciare questa recensione perch solitamente al primo cambio di stagione le ventoline cominciano a fare rumore. Questa di stagioni ne ha gi fatte pi di 8 e oltre a funzionare egregiamente non fa nessun rumore. La consiglio a tutti, anche se costa qualche euro in pi vi posso dire che ne vale la pena!

J’ai choisis ce ventirad suite a une recommandation (amical) et afin de changer mon watercooling tout en un (jetable), j’en avais dj entendu du bien. Il n’est pas forcment trs esthtique certes mais si vous ne vous arrtez pas a c’est une vritable ppite !
J’ai gagn 10/15 compar a avant et le bruit, enfin non, aucun bruit ! Il est incroyablement silencieux, c’est tellement agrable quand on tait habitu a davantage de bruit. Cela dit, petit bmol pour le montage, rien de compliquer a monter un ventirad habituellement mais personnellement si je n’avais pas garder de ct ma plaque d’origine AMD du ventirad d’origine, je chercherais encore probablement comment l’installer. La plaque vendu avec ne ma servit rien et ne fonctionner pas, pourtant ma CM est bien attribue comme compatible sur le site Noctua, peut-tre ai-je merd quelque part. (rf : TUF B450-Plus gaming)

kühl und leise
Ein sehr guter Luftkhler, der die CPU schn khl hlt und dabei leise bleibt.
Funktioniert sehr gut, ist aber nicht so billig.
Der Preis ist zwar gemessen an den Produkten der Mitbewerber hoch, doch die Qualitt ist gut, der Lfter ist leise und der Prozessor ist immer sehr khl, kommt bei mir kaum mal ber 40 Grad.
Function over Form
Nun ja sexy sieht der Khler natrlich nicht aus, fr mich ist es aber die ultimative Sorgenfrei-Lsung die man 5 Minuten nach dem Einbau vergisst. Sehr einfach zu montieren und selbst unter Last praktisch lautlos. Zukunftssicher auch bei neueren Sockets. Genau was ich wollte.

Piacevolissima sorpresa
Dissipatore comprato per sostituire un aio nzxt kraken 120mm guasto dopo nemmeno un anno, non ci speravo molto essendo il mio case piccolo talmente da non far entrare un assassin III o un dh15. Ma con mio grande stupore noto che anche con una sola ventola mi tiene le temperature pi basse di 15 gradi in media rispetto al sistema a liquido.
Circa 5860 gradi dopo 10 m di cinebench con un 2600X. Consigliatissimo.

Riduce la temperatura, efficienza e facilità di montaggio
Un dissipatore veramente ben costruito questo Noctua. Le temperature sono diminuite tantissimo sul mio ryzen 5 3600 che precedentemente montava un dissipatore “stock”. Montaggio facilissimo anche per socket amd 4. Il kit comprende anche la pasta termica, un cacciavite, gli adattatori per socket intel e amd 3. Possibile anche installare un’altra ventola. Per quanto riguarda il rumore io non ho sentito nulla di ch, quindi mantiente il tutto molto silenzioso. Che dire lo consiglio!

My cooler had several bent fins on it – but honestly it was really easy to fix those so it didn’t really bother me, but of course at this price you kind of expect everything to be pristine.
That said, the installation process on this was a dream, so so simple – the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Temps and noise level have absolutely improved noticeably. All in all I really am glad I bought this.

I’m writing this review having owned and used this heatsink / CPU for five years, and it’s still running very well and silently. Also, I just ordered a new Z690 motherboard after my old one failed, and was able to order a new mounting adapter for the heatsink free of charge from Noctua’s website – I can’t think of many companies who show this level of commitment and care to their customers.
Silenziosa e molto performante
Premetto che non sono un esperto ma mi sono fidato di una mico che mi ha suggerito questo prodotto per il mio nuovo PC assemblato un anno fa da lui. Prima cosa che si nota la silenziosit. Non si sente rumore. Seconda cosa, raffredda la CP che infatti ha temperature basse e il PC non si surriscalda. L’ho montata su il Case Corsair 275R Airflow Vetro Temprato, tra i pi venduti su Amzon che presenta gi altre ventole al suo interno in dotazione, con le quali la Noctua NH-U12S si integrata benissimo.
Very quiet CPU coole
I have this paired with an i5 processor.
My concern was fan noise but not compromise on performance, CPU stays at 50 degrees during gaming sessions.
Can’t even tell the fan is on 100% when it is. Paired with a redux fan on the back.
I bough this cooler for my R7 5800x CPU. It does a great job for an air cooler. I mounted a second Noctua fan of the same model to the back so the cooler has two in a push-pull configuration. The cooler came with the second fan mounting bracket included. Installation was easy and uses the stock socket AM4 back plate. It keeps my 5800x idling between 34-38c depending on ambient temp. Under load I typically don't see above 74c. Heavy all-core loads such as video transcoding in VLC will push the temps up to about 80c, which is still within the safety limits according to AMD.

Siempre escuch la buena reputacin de Noctua, pero estoy sorprendido. De entrada, el producto llega super bien empacado, y en la caja encuentras absolutamente todo para instalarlo: instructivos para cada tipo de socket, tornillera, brackets, pasta trmica, llave y desarmador, hules anti-vibracin de repuesto, y ms. No necesitas NADA ms. La instalacin se realiz en 15 mins siguiendo el instructivo para mi LGA1151. Una vez encendido el equipo, me sorpend mas: es real que no hacen absolutamente nada de ruido. Hasta cierto punto cre que algo haba conectado mal, porque es sumamente silencioso. Modifiqu la curva del ventilador, y an as estando al 100% es imperceptible. Finalmente, el funcionamiento fue esperado: 20C menos que el cooler anterior (tengo un i5-9600k, el cooler que usaba antes era el stock de un i3-9100f).
Got this to replace an EVO 212 – had it for a while, one of the fan brackets broke during cleanup, swapped back to stock while researching options, and this one just stuck out above all others.
Plus, wanted to OC a bit, and the EVO couldn’t really handle it.
Where to begin? Everything is about this cooler is perfect. But, I’ll break it down anyway.
– Packaging: Everything is neatly packed inside and well secured. Everything you can possibly need is in there.
– Installation: I’d like to take a moment to point out that have been building system for over 20 years now, been through hundreds of fans and mounts, I’ve installed fans that took a good couple of hours to get installed properly and made you wish you had 4 more hands (Zalmans back in early 2000’s anyone?), and I’ve installed some that made you wish who ever designed that mounting solution would design EVERYTHING! The U12S is one of those wonders. I consider the EVO very simple to install, this one makes the EVO installation looks like a pain.
Seriously, from the moment I remove the stock fan, cleaned up the CPU to the moment is was up and running with the new cooler – not even 5 minutes. Kept looking to see if I missed something.
– Noise level: while I can give you numbers here, what I can tell you that at full speed (~1600RPM), you have to put your ear to it to hear anything, dead silent.
– Clearance: Doesn’t require you to remove you RAM or anything else to install and doesn’t touch the RAM when the fan is installed.
– Performance (compared to stock fan – pics included [sorry, don’t have pics for the EVO, only test results I wrote down a little while ago]): Night and day!
Room temp: ~22c (70f)
Idle temps:
Stock fan: ~60c
EVO 212: ~43c
NH-U12S: ~40c
Sounds good yes ? it gets better.
Prime95 stress test – 45mins (Small FFTs – maximum power / heat):
Stock fan: ~88c
EVO 212: ~71c
NH-U12S: ~59c
That’s 29c degrees difference from stock, which is crazy. I fully expected to see a big gap between the two, but that is a lot better than expected. The EVO is also far behind.
OC test – 4.4Ghz @ 1.14v – Prime95 stress test – 2 hours:
Stock fan: system blue screened in about 30 seconds (fully expected that one).
EVO 212: hit 90c and cpu was throttled down.
NH-U12S: ~77c stable.
– Price: Acceptable, you definitely get what you pay for here.
If I had to try really hard to find a con here I’d say:
– Fan color: Noctua and that brown.. sigh. But, you buy a cooler for it to cool your CPU, not for you to look at it all day, so it doesn’t get dinged for that in my book.
(people who reduce stars for fan color – really?)
Summary:
This is one of the best overall air cooler I’ve ever worked with, I just have to mention again how easy it is to install, doesn’t get in the way of anything, silent, and performance are amazing. For the price, I doubt there is anything out there on that level.

Che dire, Noctua non si smentisce mai, la qualit di questo dissipatore eccelsa. All’inizio ero preoccupato non fosse nemmeno partito di quanto silenzioso, e il sistema di montaggio SecuFirm 2 a prova di scemo (anche se la prima volta sono riuscito a sbagliare il verso dei bracci di montaggio per non leggere le istruzioni ). Ho guadagnato qualcosa come 12 gradi ad idle rispetto al dissipatore stock del mio Ryzen 5 3600X e una decina sotto carico. Carina l’inclusione di un cacciavite e vari accessori che fan sempre comodo. Una scelta obbligata, oserei dire
Excellent quality and brilliant results
First up, this is a brilliant well made professional bit of engineering.
I installed this after owning an All in One liquid cooler which died resulting in CPU temps of 95 – 102 degrees (centigrade!). I had never installed a heat sink before so was a bit nervous but the instructions were clear and I’m moderately confident with components in general having swapped out things like fans and PCIe cards before.
build quality is excellent, nothing felt light or cheap. Even the rubber corners on the fan feel like premium silicone. It comes with all of the parts you could possibly need including thermal compound, mounting brackets even a screwdriver.
CPU idle temperatures are now a stable and reasonable 34 degrees (in a hot flat that’s 28 degrees itself.), under load – rendering or gaming it gets up to about 65 which is still perfectly safe and acceptable. Its easily comparable to within about 5 degrees of when I had a working AIO liquid cooler.
It is as close to silent as I’ve ever heard (or not heard) before. Unless you’re right next to it in a quiet room, to all intents and purposes it is utterly silent. Although as it ages I expect that to change.
Even though its a smaller model – it is still quite large so getting it into a small case like mine will present a bit of a challenge and result in some scraped knuckles and swearing.
In case it helps anyone, this is my case and it fit with 4 full size RAM sticks, two roof fans and a big GPU in the top slot. (Just)

In short – its a good investment. Why would you get a cheaper one that might not work as well sitting on a potentially 700 CPU.
True upgrade from stock AMD Wraith
If you upgrade anything on a build, this would be the place to start. Nearly silent under load and brings the temps back 20 degrees easy. I was missing 2 screws for the mounting bracket. Contacted Noctua directly and they were quick to respond and send me the parts free of charge. Excellent product and excellent service.
Easy to install, temps 13c dow
Replaced an AMD Wraith SPIRE on a 5600x that was getting annoying ramping up and down and temps while gaming the last few days that room temp was 22c was reaching 85c, still safe but I didn’t like it plus the noise was very noticeable. Installation was easy enough, My case has a motherboard cut out so by holding the AMD stock backplate in place with some tape I installed the Noctua NH-U12S without even having to put pc on its side, it would have been less awkward working inside the case but space did not allow me to put pc on its side and I wanted to avoid unplugging everything and moving pc to other space so I can work on it laying on its side.
Even tho I think I might have put more thermal paste that I should have my temps now are 12c/13c lower. While running CPU stress test once CPU temps reached a certain point the Noctua fan speeds up so instead of temps getting higher they coming down!! fan gets a little noisy but nothing like the AMD Wraith SPIRE. As thermal paste needs to mature am sure my temps will improve even more. One problem that I have now is that after this experience with Noctua and the fact that I can now hear my case fans I want to replace my case fans with Noctua ones…Thanks a lot Noctua 😀

Noctua NH-U12S für AMD 5600X
Hallo zusammen,
Ich habe fr meinen selbst zusammengebauten PC mit einem AMD 5600x Prozessor mit boxed AMD-Lfter einen Ersatz gesucht. Der mitgelieferte spire Lfter wurde im idle um die 46 Grad warm. Beim. Spielen lag er bei ca. 75 Grad.
Ich sehe diesen Lfter als eine gute Investition, er untersttzt aktuell alle gltigen CPU sockets und neuere knnen im noctua Shop erworben werden.
Der formfaktor ist fr die aktuellen Boards prima. Die RAM – Bnke sind alle prima benutzbar.
Wrmeleitpaste war beim Set schon dabei, was prima ist. Anleitung zur Bedienung und Installation sehr verstndlich und gut bebildert.
Die Besttigung zum Kauf kam bei dem ersten test im idle liegt er nun bei unter 40,der Lfter hat deutlich weniger Umdrehungen und ist viel leiser.
In Spielen wo vorher ber 75 Grad waren sind nun entsprechende 50-55 grad. Die Lautstrke des Lfters ist fr mich kaum bemerkbar.

Lo mejor en refrigeración por disipado
Vengo de tener montada una refrigeracin lquida NZXT en un procesador i7-9700K. A los dos aos las refrigeraciones lquidas pierden eficacia por micro-evaporaciones y por este motivo tuve que repararla. Despus del mantenimiento, la refrigeracin lquida me segua dando problemas (Al jugar con altas prestaciones la temperatura de la CPU ascenda a los 93) y por eso me decant por sustituirla por un disipador.
Saba que Noctua era una de las mejores marcas de refrigeracin y ventilacin para PC, y por eso me decant por adquirir uno de sus modelos. El resultado ha sido inmejorable, los materiales son de calidad, el ventilador es silencioso y el disipador funciona a las mil maravillas. Solo decir que jugando a juegos de muy altos requisitos, el procesador nunca ha superado los 70.
Conclusin: merece la pena pagar un poco ms por componentes que son de calidad. Noctua recomendadsimo.
S, yo tambin pensaba que 60 euros por un disipador era excesivo y que hay soluciones ms baratas y cumplidoras. Y no lo niego, ya que yo mismo las he estado usando aos. Pero me picaba la curiosidad y quera probar por mi mismo si era para tanto.
Y sinceramente, no tengo suficientes conocimientos como para emitir un veredicto definitivo, pero hasta el ms lego en la materia puede entender que esto est a otro nivel. La calidad de los materiales, la sencillez de montaje, las temperaturas y, sobre todo el silencio de funcionamiento es algo indiscutible y no me lo haba encontrado antes en ningn disipador.
Merece la pena el sobreprecio sobre otras marcas? Pues eso es algo que debes juzgar por ti mismo. Yo lo nico que puedo decir es que no me arrepiento en absoluto de haberlo pagado.
Tamed a Ryzen 5 3600
Bought this for an AM4 conversion in my home server. It tamedit with easy, idle temps never exceeding 31 degrees.
Not that impressive except that the server is in a Bit Fenix Phenom ITX chassis which has about the worst ventilation possible. By comparison the Noctua NH-U9B SE2 i had planned to recycle was struggling to keep temperatures at idle below 40 degrees.
Not the cheapest but very easy to fit, and backed up by Noctuas great customer service – the NH-U9B SE2 i bought over 10 years ago and Noctua sent me the AM4 conversion earlier this month when i asked for it.
Easy to install, And droped my temps from 90C at full load to 70C
Took 10 minutes to install very easy to do for new builders. Came with thurmal past and a long bit screwdriver. Works like a charm lowered CPU temps by 20C at full load from stock. 10/10 recommend

After having had occasional crashes for a while I read something that suggested temperature problems. I installed SpeedFan and confirmed that temperature was the problem, in that by changing BIOS settings to disable Turbo mode and increase fan speed I made the system more stable. My system: CPU: i7-9700k, Motherboard: Asus Prime Z370-P II with a stock Coolermaster cooler from PC Specialist. Have now installed the Noctua NH-U12S, with noticeable improvement. Previously CPU ran at 55C or more with Turbo disabled, max fan speed, 50% CPU usage. Now it runs at 48C with Turbo enabled, fan speed variable but quiet, 92% CPU sustained. Most importantly, no crashes, even when rendering a video edit that always caused a crash previously (using Lightworks, which can used all 8 cores for several minutes while rendering). Very satisfied customer.
Just a word of warning to make sure you check the dimensions – this only just fits in my standard tower case.

Very impressive. I bought it to replace a somewhat noisy and not terribly effective AIO water cooler. Keeping my overclocked i7-4770K cool and doing so quietly.
Excellent Noctua quality, but the fans need improveme
I have been using this cooler for a few months now and I would like to start off by saying that, as always with Noctua, the build quality is absolutely excellent. The cooler itself is extremely well made and comes with a variety of mounting options, anti-vibration pads for the fan and speed reduction cables to reduce fan speed and noise when using stock fan curves. The cooler comes with good quality thermal paste and is easy to mount. This cooler will absolutely perform better than any AMD or Intel stock coolers.
I have unfortunately had an issue with this particular cooler – the fan. I am a big “fan” (so to speak) of Noctua fans, and in fact my PC case is full of them shifting air quietly and efficiently through it. The NF-F12 fan included with this cooler makes a significant amount of noise when spinning at 75-100% speed. At first I thought that I had a faulty fan, as I’ve never had a Noctua fan do this before and the NF-F12 redux fan that I had ordered to supplement the NF-P12 made no such noise. I also noted a roughness when the fan was spinning at low speeds. I contacted Noctua customer support who kindly sent me a replacement fan, but unfortunately it made the same noise. After a lengthy discussion with Noctua they confirmed to me that this is within the specification of the fan unit, and so the noise is to be expected.
I want to say firstly that Noctua’s customer support was excellent. However I am not sure that I would purchase this particular cooler again due to the noise characteristics. If you are looking to purchase this cooler then I would actually recommend buying an additional Noctua *REDUX* 120mm fan to run on the front of the cooler. Even though the Redux line is their more budget line, these fans seem to operate in a much more silent manner than the more expensive NF-F12 fans.
In short, an excellent product manufactured to a very high standard and with a trustworthy manufacturer behind it, but with one large shortcoming that largely defeats the point of spending more to get Noctua over a cheaper cooler (silent performance).

I figured that if this setup didn't work, then I could add 2nd Noctua fan. When I first installed it, I noticed that the fan wasn't turning. I checked the connection and the fan profile in the BIOS. All was fine. The fan didn't come on until I ran the stress test in CPU-Z. After running anything CPU intensive the fan would turn off almost immediately. I monitored CPU activity and it would run 4.8Ghz all cores with one or 2 jumping to 5.2 periodically. The CPU temps would be in the mid-70's to low-80's c, never hitting near it's thermal max. After stressing it, the temps would drop back to the 40's. This was all done in a room with the ambient temps in the low 70's f.

Works great, easy to install. Brown version is always cheaper then the black one.
Excellent. Inaudible and yet the CPU is cold.
The fitting kit is great. All the options for each supported CPU are provided, so you end up with lots of bits left over. But the framework to support the relatively large heatsink is confidence inspiring.
In use I find the CPU runs at about 220rpm (I cannot hear this at all). With the case fans set to OFF the CPU ran to 42 degrees after a day of using the machine for work (Web browsing email, teams etc) and the fan speed never once increased over the 8hour period. If I put the 2 chassis fans back on their minimums I see CPU temps of 35 degrees.
All in all I can no longer hear the system really. Delighted with the heatsink – money well spent.

Fantastic upgrade from the stock coolers that come with modern cpus. The cooler is dead silent noctua is the gold standard of fans for a reason, the temps on my system are as followed 40C on idle and below 65C on full load. Super happy with the purchase.
