    Seems to be working
I’ve had these for about a month and no cat poo-delighted as I have tried just about everything on the market without success . It’s not supplied with batteries and was quite fiddly as screws are tiny.

Worked at first, but cats got used to them. Older people cannot hear them, but younger members of my family complained about the screechy noise the made.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood but …..
So bought these as I had a cat and two foxes using my garden as a toilet. After reading the reviews I was 50/50 but needed something as I have two young kids who love the garden. It took me about a week to figure out where to put them to get optimum coverage of the garden. ( had less poo’s the first week) Once I figured that out and the frequency 5/6 the cat stopped pooing in the garden. YAY!! However the fox was hit and miss. The poop machine figured out a blind spot and low and behold I found two poo’s. So again repositioned them, put garden things where blind spots were. After the heavy rains the sensors still worked although I needed to clean them of muck. We on week three and although I don’t get 4-5 poo’s a day we seem to be hit and miss with the fox occasionally leaving a present. So although this isn’t 100% fox proof it does work to a point. My only gripe is that we have to turn the sensors when the kids are out playing but I will take that over 4-5 poo’s a day. So unless I have a clever deaf fox it definitely works on cats and we’ve seen less squirrels digging holes too. I will keep on trying a higher or low frequency and see if that deters the beast but it doesn’t help my neighbour likes to feed them.

    Nearly 100% clear.
Needed to stop local cats using my small front garden as a toilet. Easy to install batteries. Knew they were working when my son told me to turn them off as hurting his ears.
Placed at both sides of garden to get full coverage. Blue light comes on when motion detected and so far seem to be working. Only 1 cat poop in 2 weeks . As a bonus also keep next doors toddler out of garden.
Too early to comment on battery or weatherproofing as currently in a drought.

I purchased this product as neighbour’s cat was using my rear garden as a toilet nightly. They have been in use now for approx 1 month and since I installed them I’ve not had to contend with cleaning up cat poo.
Can’t comment on ‘weatherproof’ and ‘battery life’ as the weather has been dry and not had the detectors long enough to comment, but otherwise I am very pleased with them.

Not the instant fix I was hoping fo
So we’ve had these set up for 3 nights now to deter 2 foxes that are enjoying wrecking the garden. So far we haven’t noticed any significant change to their visiting habits, we will continue to change location & sound frequency til hopefully the foxes get fed up & move on. Only time will tell I guess!!
Detection sensors are good, pick up movement from good distance. Sound is also good, we have to take them somewhere out of the way every morning as it does irrate the dog, an on/off switch would be of great use!
Jury still out on these but keeping fingers crossed as not really sure what to do next!!

Nothing to dislike about this product. After putting up with my neighbours cat leaving parcels on my lawn and gravel. A friend recommended this product to me. Since I put both items on my lawn. There hasn’t been any unwanted parcels. I did turn both dials on each product up to the maximum. That was 10 days ago. Really impressed with this product.

Installing the batteries is difficult because the tiny Phillips head screws do not always sit properly creating the possibility of stripping the heads. To avoid future problems, we just used electrical tape to secure the back, but we are not sure this will be sufficiently weather-proof.
Otherwise, there have been no more of the feral cats my neighbor feeds lurking underneath the bird feeders, which was our goal.

    Cats deterred!!
We had a problem with cat excrement on our new artificial lawn. This happened on a daily basis and I would clear the mess. Installing these bad boys has led to a reduction, although this was not immediate: possibly due to the cats still intrigued by the new garden! After two weeks of use, no more cat excrement in the garden! Hooray.

Unfortunately one of the repellants was dead out of the box, despite trying different batteries. However the other repellant is taking care of the job! Amazon have been excellent in arranging an exchange.

    Do the cat scarers work?
The cat scarers were bought for my sister as her neighbour’s cat was spraying on her plants and causing them to die. It was also pooing on the lawn. Within 24 hours of using the scarers, the cat has stopped using her garden as a toilet. I cannot comment on the waterproof question, as we are in the middle of a heatwave. However, the scarers look robust. As she has only been using the scarers for three weeks, I cannot comment on the battery life. She is delighted with the product and would recommend them 100%. I would just say that she spent time working out exactly where to put the scarers for maximum benefit.

I purchased these with some trepidation having read the other reviews. We still get cats in our garden but they do not stay! I feel these have had the desired affect and would buy them again. We have had these for some time now and the cats have stayed away! Battery life depends on how often they are triggered so this is subjective but we do not find they eat the batteries. We have one out on our front garden and touch wood no cat doings so far!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersNo more fouling in my garden!!!!
I’ve waited nearly a year to write this review as I wanted to see if these really worked or not. I’m pleased to say that they do! I regularly found faeces on the front lawn, and I tried various pellets and products but none seemed to work. I don’t know whether the problem was from a fox, cat or a dog, but whatever was producing it, it stank. The front lawn is small, about 5m x 3m and I deployed both of the motion detectors in a different corner each. In the last year I’ve only had to deal with one instance of fouling, and that was in the first few weeks of using the detectors, which makes me wonder whether the animal went to toilet as usual and decided that they couldn’t put up with the noise and never returned.

I’ve gone for 4 stars rather than 5 only because my children, who are in their twenties, can hear the detectors when they walk to the front door when they visit. My wife and I are in our fifties and can’t hear the detectors at all.

Battery life seems good as well. I bought rechargeable AA batteries at the same time and they last 2-3 months in each detector before I need to recharge them.

I had a real problem with cats using parts of my garden as a toilet twice daily, I bought this product and used just one of the sensors, true to form the cat/s worked out how to move their toilet to a new part of the garden, so the second sensor came out of the box and I lined them up so the garden is covered with both sensors, absolute BINGO, not seen a cat or it’s stuff for three weeks, brilliant device! Well worth purchasing

Love these, had problems with neighbours cats fouling in my garden, since buying these i no longer have that problem. I found them to be sturdy, you can adjust the frequency of the soar which is good. They are weather proof even in snow and I found they had a good battery life for a few months but this was in a back garden where there isn’t much activity. Yes I would definitely recommend these

    Work ok...for a while
Bought a pair of these a year ago as we were being troubled by a fox messing on our lawn, lots of bare patches and occasional muck. Set them at opposite ends of the lawn making sure all areas were covered. Within a week or so, no issues. Pity the grass didn’t grow again so quickly. Then we moved them to our daughter’s house where she had a cat messing up her flower beds. Again it worked with a few weeks. Finally moved one of them to the front of her house where the gardens are open plan and people kept letting their dogs mess on her small lawn. With a few weeks, all clear. Unfortunately that device then stopped working, despite changing the batteries. We did find that the units are prone to damp inside and the batteries begin to corrode, so keep checking them. Work fine though.

These scarers have been a miracle in my garden. I was always clearing up cat mess and after a few days of operating the cat scarer there are no cats in the garden and no mess at all. I could hardly believe it when I dug the garden and no dirt turned up overnight. I can thoroughly recommend this product to do what it says.

Life was a misery as cats played and chilled on my hot tub cover all the time. The cover was being ruined and I had to wash it daily and that involved washing it twice and buffing it. I was afraid they would start digging their claws in and completely ruin it. Bought these and we saw paw prints get less and less. They were jumping on but getting off really quick. I’m very pleased and having a relaxing dip really is that now. Definitely recommend

    They seem to work!
I bought the motion detectors to stop the cats using my front lawn as a toilet! They seem to be working well. You have to assemble them but this is simple – attach the spike for inserting into the ground and put some AA batteries in place (not supplied) along with the rubber seal to make them waterproof. Put the back on with the screws provided (they are small and a little fiddly). Since positioning them and setting the frequency No cats have spoilt my lawn. Can’t say how long the batteries will last but can detect when they’re working as there’s a blue light that shows when movement is detected.

    So far so good….
I purchased the two pack of these sensors after trying citronella pellets, which did nothing to stop four feral farm cats from leaving the most disgusting ‘deposits’ on my lawn and flowerbeds. They seem quite robust although the battery compartment screws are tiny and I struggled to get them all the way in. As I was concerned about water ingress, I covered the back of the units with several layers of brown parcel tape, which has worked well. Since installing them about five weeks ago, I haven’t had a single mess. It remains to be seen if the cats get used to the sensors, but so far I am very pleased. I have set the dial to 6, the top range suggested for cats. I can’t hear anything but my 22 year old son certainly can!

Bought this and was a little skeptical whether it would do the job of ridding a neighborhood cat messing on our front lawn, but since installing it no more mess has appeared, so fingers crossed this has out an end to the issue. Settings a bit hit and miss!
The repellents appear to be working in that I have not had any ‘deposits’ since fitting them.
They are easy to assemble and set up but the Frequency part is really a bit hit and miss . It is a twist knob with dots going from small to large, whereas in my opinion frequency goes from low to high. There is nothing in the instructions which indicates where one should set the frequency knob to be effective against cats. I set the knob at 3-4 dots from the left and must just have hit lucky for, as I said, I have not had any deposits since fitting. We shall have to wait and see if that continues. I cannot rate whether the goods are weatherproof or their battery life as I have no had them long enough to establish this.

    They do work.
After a miss-delivery, got this product the following day. First attempt couldn’t find my address. Wales is a bi-lingual country and delivery drivers navigate by google maps which is English only, so some drivers might need to familiarize themselves. Had no problem with prior deliveries.

As for the product, it was an easy assemble. Important to note when inserting the batteries, a rubber gaskit is supplied with the product that needs to be used before screwing the hatch closed. This prevents rain getting in and the corrosion some other reviewers have commented upon. Once assembled, and setting the frequency and sensitivity dials to half-way, I placed these cat scarers at strategic positions.
Within an hour, I could hear the scamper of paws and startled meow as a regular pooper legged it out of my garden. An inspection the following morning I observe no poops on the lawn nor on the borders, which previously was a daily nightmare. What I also observed is the cats have now started to poop in their new home territory, the neighbors garden, the one who owns the cat hareem.

    They work!

I cannot comment on the battery life yet, but have used rechargeable AA batteries, and the product lights up when activated, so easy to see when they need a recharge.

Robust bit of kit, but does not scare the cat away
It at face value works , detects movement, been out in the wet. Trouble is the cats keep doing their busy right in the line of devices detection zone, so its fundamental reason to be there to deter cats does not work. 10/10 for all the non essential funtions, but useless for purpose advertised. Not sure i will be able to comment on battery life, as i can think of many other things to use them on, that work!!! Before they run out.

Review based on delivery/setup only. Not had time to evaluate motion detection/battery life. Ordered units Sunday lunchtime, arrived lunchtime Monday – before requisite batteries (4/unit), ordered separately, which arrived Wednesday. Cannot fault Primrose. Instructions for installing batteries included but not for setting dials! Need to check website for that. Suggest fixing ground spike to unit before installing batteries. Mention made of red light showing activation – light is actually blue! Try to find appropriate screw driver to fix battery cover plate. Once located in ground, activation can be confirmed by walking past at different distances/angles, noting when blue light flashes.

These have been in place since for a while now and they definitely work. The only recurrence of the nauseating problem of animal waste that I have had, occurred when I forgot to switch them back on after mowing the lawn. They are well made and have a metal groundspike instead of a fragile plastic one and they have continued to function after periods of heavy rainfall. The batteries have lasted for approximately five weeks so far and the only issue is that the battery compartment is slightly awkward to access.

    They work!
I often see (night vision CCTV) around 5 different cats roaming the back garden in the early hours of the morning, with a couple of them using their now well established toilet area. Having seen these receive some positive feedback I thought I’d give them a try, whilst somewhat very apprehensive. I placed them on the regular trails the cats seem to prefer and the next morning I played back the video footage from the night before. Cat number 1, the main pooper, taking its normal route to its bedding area toilet, approaches the motion detector and I see the light come on..the cat freezes for a second.light goes off..another step, light on and the cat is out of the garden before the light goes off! Perfect. Same trend throughout the week, with all other cats following in the same fashion. Furthermore, they don’t seem to try again once deterred. Five stars all round, with the exception of the battery life. Both units come without the 4 x AA’s they need, so add that extra cost onto to price of these. If placed in an active area, they’ll be triggered constantly and battery life may become an issue.

They worked straight away and drove cats off my back garden – from cat toilet to flowerbed overnight.
Detect from a good distance, I can’t hear the sound but my neighbour can and it’s loud.
Batteries – I’m using high capacity rechargeable ones (2100mAh) and recharge every two months just to keep them topped up though they don’t seem to need it. So that’s a very good life indeed.

So good I bought another set for the front garden.

Highly effective! No need to clean up daily after my neighbout's cat anymore!
I’ve always had some issues with cats messing in my gardens but found garlic granules quite an effective deterrent although only in the short-term. However, these ultrasonic cat deterrents are so much more effective. They are easy to assemble. I purchased two which I placed in my front garden to cover the lawn and surrounding borders. My neighbour’s cat now just sits on it’s own porch staring at my garden but not attempting to come near. After about 10 days I found a cat had ventured into the far border and left it’s calling card so I increased the sensors to the maximum (I only set them to half capacity initially). I’ve not had any issues for over a week now which is wonderful as for the past year I’ve had to clean up on a daily basis.

    No more neighbourhood cat deliveries
Once upon a time, I took a walk through town, and came upon a strange situation in which a chap was painting the steps of the town hall. “Why are you doing that?”, I inquired. He replied, “it’s anti-elephant paint. It keeps the elephants away.” To which I perplexedly retorted, “but here are no elephants around here?”…… to which the chap replied, “Yeah, works great eh!?”

This little story sums up how I feel about these devices; I cannot be sure that they have attributed to the 100% reduction in cats decided to use my newly-seeded patch of lawn as their communal latrine. However, since installing these devices, the delightful “Harry” and “Gnasher” have ceased the leaving-behind of their fetid little packages.

I’m not sure what Gnasher’s owner feeds him, but I first thought some human had been there.. However, if it were me, being thrown out of the pub at closing time, getting caught short on the way home, I’d definitely have corked it, given how loud these things are on their max setting. Ouch!

In summary, while I can’t be sure these are the solution to the problem, I’m loathe to remove them, just in case.

    Stopped the buggers
I was in the process of creating numerous and evil ways to rid the cats from defacating on my lawns. Decided I was not a that evil in the end and decided to go down a kinder route. Saw these and was dubious if they would work so took a punt as the wife had not spent all my cash on wine and chocolate.
Placed in the ground, picked a frequency and turned on. Three days later a stinking turd was found on my lawn, changed frequency and to date no more turds. Default turd count before installing the sensors was 3 or 4 different turds a day. The hoard of cats from the crazy cat woman 2 doors up have decided to do their business elsewhere just as well because one of my plans was to turn the horrid creatures into some nice fluffy slippers and post them to her at Christmas.

Now all three do the job. 1 in the front garden and the 2 new ones in the rear garden. Great deterrent. You have to have patience with the frequency over a week or two , but with perseverance they worked for me. I have given 5 stars for battery life, this all depends on how often the p.I.r. picks up movement.

    Excellent kit and they work!
After a year plus of clearing cat muck from my borders. Finally something that works. I placed these in my gardens and I can happily say no more cat muck! I fully recommend them as I have seen one cat come near and it soon departed when the unit came to life Just be careful with battery life, they last roughly a month depending on your settings.

I now have a pest free zone
We are retired and have a nice garden which is quite a good size it had also become the litter tray for every cat in the road – apart from not being fun digging in cat poo they were destroying many of the plants. We also had a lot of squirrels who dug up plants especially the pots on the patio – it was getting soul destroying to find things damaged. We have so many birds and our feeder is very secure – we also have Doves/ Wood Pigeons lots of Black birds and many other big birds. I have considered a repellent many times but having a dog I held off. The arrival of two young cats next door who were more in than out of the garden and poo times were frequent we noticed that the birds large and small were not coming and the final straw was going out in the morning to find downy feathers everywhere (which I found very distressing). Thank goodness I bought this repellent – we put it at the bottom of the garden where all pests enter and now after 2 weeks we have a cat free zone and the birds are back – the squirrels bob in and dash out. The most important thing for me is it doesn’t bother my dog at all and he isn’t a lot bigger than a cat. Just sorry I did not buy one before.

Seem to be doing the job
I do like these I now have 3 to cover my allotment area.
They do the trick but the only drawback I have found is that as the battery goes low the only way to tell they aren’t doing the job is finding cat mess.
I have 3 all set up at different times so the batteries are all at different levels and it seems to be doing the trick.
Luckily I can’t hear them but, my daughter came to visit and said they were making a horrible noise. So it appears some people can and so having more than one may not be an option.
I haven’t had them over winter months so I’m not sure how they will be for next spring but, they have saved my veg from the cats for this year.
Buying 2 together is cheaper than buying 2 separately.

    So far so good
My own cat is not affected at all however my children and other cats definitely are. I guess older cats’ hearing changes just as humans’ do. There is a definite though not complete reduction in visits from neighbours’ cats. I have also seen them taking new routes and just saw a cat nearly fall off the shed roof when it triggered. So overall I think this does seem to be worthwhile. Battery life seems good. Have had one sensor on one set of batteries for about 2 months so far. Can’t comment on weather proofing really as time will tell.

    Problem solved!
We were plagued by neighbours’ cats doing their business in front and back gardens, husband was going out daily to clear up after them. Pestbye were recommended by another neighbour and we’ve had no problems since setting them up. Easy to put together, positioned tactically and don’t seem to bother next door’s dog or any birds in the garden. Their noise can be heard so when we’re using the garden we just set the one there aside. Have definitely been worth buying.

    They work...
I had x5 cats using my garden as a toilet. Not having any cats myself I assumed they were following each other’s scent. Following the installation of these scarers all but two cats have kept away. The two who are persevering avoid the scarers visibly showing there dislike but have found ways to go around. They are staying away from where the birds come and feed and where I have positioned the scarers but In addition I use “get off” gel to neutralise their spray and that discourages the rest to follow.

    Cats beware!
We bought these to discourage a couple of stray cats from coming into our garden. Once set up we noticed right away that the cats were not coming into the garden as much. We have had them now for about 5 weeks and only have 1 cat that persists but even his visits are getting less and less.

I was a skeptic about these devices but needs required I do something and I am happy I did.

Highly recommend these items they have worked for us and that’s all I can say really.

    Successful Deterre
Last March my garden was overrun with cat faeces so I tried a number of methods, and these have been the most successful. Until the batteries died a week or so ago my garden was free of any signs of cats.

Now, the batteries dying is an issue as these come with very soft screws for the battery compartment and so I had rounded some of them out when trying to get the battery panel fixed tight. I could not remove the panels on either unit and so could not replace them.

The solution, albeit an expensive one, was to buy these again. Which I have done, as they have worked so well.

    It works
I was sceptical at first weather these would work. I had regular visits from cats who frequently did their poo in my garden (Diarrhea all over my garden ornaments). I originally just fitted these in the ground with the supplied spike but found it better to screw them to a solid surface (house and garden wall). Not had any cats or poo since fitting these. Remarkable little devices. The spikes are a bit fiddly to fit on (hence opting for wall mounting). I have not had to replace the batteries yet, but not looking forward to it. It looks like access to the waterproof battery section uses tiny little screws and could be difficult to replace. Time will tell but I suspect if anything fails in the future, it will be the battery access.

    It works UPDATE
I was worried that this would be ineffective, at first I used only one to cover my small front garden, my wife noticed a day or two later that the main culprit had walked along the road towards us and suddenly stopped and then crossed to road. No fluke, for the first time in 4 years my flowers are starting to bloom properly. Having lost many due to ammonia burns and being destroyed as the cat/s dig to cover their poo, my garden is clear of them.

I have set the frequency and volume at differing levels, placed them at opposite ends of the garden. It’s 7 weeks now and we have not seen a cat on the garden at all, not a one.

If I’m sounding very impressed that’s because I am. My friend has bought a pair to place on top of the walls of his garden, they are also keeping the cats out and due to the height of the walls his dog is not being affected.

After a few months, they are still very effective. This summer I’ve had the best display of flowers since living here.

Some Thieving toad stole one of them last month!!!!! cats started to return to the part no longer covered. replaced quickly – full coverage and no cats updated to 5 stars

    Cat incidents greatly reduced! Recommend!
I had problems with several of my neighbours cats pooing in my flowers beds and in my garage, also killing birds and mice and leaving remains on my workbench. Since using these, one at the end of my flowerbed and one at the doorway of my shed I’ve had no more cats in my shed at all and maybe twice they’ve used the flowerbed for toileting which is massively less than before. I would def recommend these sensors. Also worth noting is that the motion senor itself is fantastic in that it covers such a wide range. The one on the entrance to my shed is at cat height (low to the ground) facing south. If I open my second storey window facing west it triggers the sensors. For those thar say the noise can be heard, It can. I don’t find it particularly annoying. It’s a small price to pay to solve the problem. Cats do still go through my garden but they don’t use it as a toilet anymore.

    Birds are feline safer now!
I don’t really know if they work or not because I haven’t seen a cat in the garden since I installed them! 😉

I don’t understand why it’s necessary to star the battery life as it depends entirely on the batteries you put in. That said, they assemble easily enough, appear to be sufficiently weatherproof, are adjustable and can be fixed to the supplied ground stake or screwed to a fence etc.

Some information regarding the settings would be handy, rather than ‘suck it and see’. And just the literal translation of them would be fun to read!!

    Give it a little time
In all the years (42) we’ve lived in our house, never had a cat poo problem until recently. We like cats and had one ourselves for 15 years and she rarely left the garden and buried her business, so it was never a problem. Since a couple of cats have moved in recently, poo everywhere left on top of the soil. Bought these out of desperation and puss still came back at first. After a couple of weeks, no cats and we watched a new cat walk past the scarer and jump out of its life, so we knew they were working. Don’t dismiss straight away, give them a chance.

Pesky cats in the garden be gone!
Our neighbour had a new cat and it was using one of the dark moist areas as it’s personal latrine. I was fed up with picking up cat poo and disposing of it, so thought enough is enough.

I read the reviews on this item and it seemed to get a mixed response, but I thought let’s give it a try.

The product comes with an easy stake so that you can drive it in to the soil / grass and it is very sturdy.

The instructions are a bit poor, but I did manage to understand the settings and I set the unit up with maximum coverage and the frequency to annoy cats.

It worked!! there has been no cat poo in the area for about a month.

Birds still frequent the garden are are totally non-phased by this device.

I have had a couple of family dogs come to visit and they have not be affected.

In my opinion this device is worth the money, but you mileage may vary.

Bought these again as proved to work well
I have tried a few different makes of these devices and have come back to this one to puchase another.

They pick up movement very well and the pointed spike is useful for sticking into the ground as some have flat bottomed supports and they fall over, even when stuck in the grass/soil.

The only downside is the fact that the batteries do not last too long.

Wild birds and hedgehogs come in to my garden and these scarers keep all ( except one determined ) cats out but do not deter the birds or hedgehogs. Be aware that young children can hear them so place them facing away from any area that is used by them.

    EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT: These work!
    EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT
Having installed these on Wednesday it wasn’t until today that I finally witnessed confirmation that these work. During a works meeting I was looking out the window when a black & white cat approached the garden path and began his journey to my fresh laid lawn to unload. Except today just 3 steps in the device was set. The cat bolted up in the air, arched back, hit my wood pile and shot out of sight. I squealed with joy to which my manager asked what the hell was going on! Forgot I was in a meeting.
Update: After extreme heat and thundery downpours they are still working. Motion detection is good. I have another set 5m down the garden and it picks me up entering the yard. As for battery life, no idea, but I bought rechargeable AA’s so this is not a bother! But can confirm still going strong with no recharge.

Didn’t expect much... but it worked
I bought this when the cat problem in my area was really bad. Cats constantly coming right up to our back door, pooping all over our lawn etc. Didn’t expect much from this, but one way or another, one at the top of the lawn and one at the side of the lawn has only gone and fixed it. It has been about 3 or 4 weeks since we put them up, and It didn’t work straight away, but gradually we have now got a poo free lawn and no visitors. Long may it continue.

Haven’t had these for very long so although I’ve given them 5 stars so far it may change. I’m only using one in the garden so far and so far it seems to be working. I’ve not had any large deposits from the cat that was using my garden as his personal messing ground. He wanders over the road from his own garden but hasn’t ventured in.
I’m going to put one out the front as he also goes on communal grass.

I had been plagued by my neighbour’s three cats. I installed two of these about four weeks ago and have only had two cats in my garden since then. One jumped over the fence a few days ago and I could clearly see her ears pricking up when she triggered one of them. She quickly scampered back over the fence. Battery life will depend on how many times they are triggered. Best to install them at dusk so you can easily see when they are triggered and at what range and position. Would recommend them.

These are excellent and much improved on other models. Sensor picks up movement and you can hear the deterrent noise. Every single day a fox was coming into my garden without fail I would see it on my cctv cameras, I put the pestbye up and sure enough the fox returned, I watched the playback from the video and the fox seemed confused, it went around the pestbye twice and then simply jumped over my fence

I initially thought it hadn’t worked and the fox would return, but I checked my cameras the next day and have been doing so for 2-3 months and the fox still hasn’t returned!!!

    Cat motion deterrants
I should have updated my original review.
The units failed due to not keeping rainwater out. We contacted the seller and they kindly replaced them. Each time I change the rechargeable batteries now I stick layers of heavy duty black tape over the top edge and backs of the detectors and so far that has worked to keep the water out. Batteries do need changing fairly frequently. Would still buy again.

    Work extremely well
Over the past 6 yrs I have bought Pestbye Repellents and one other brand, however previous models used 9V batteries which were expensive, and did not last long due to the units being sensitive to movement from the wind and hedges. These are working well, I have not had any cat poop on both lawns since using them and have noticed the cats are taking a different route round the lawns. The batteries are still going strong and should last up to 3 – 4 months, cutting the expenditure 50% of what I was paying previously per annum.

Well not sure if this actually works as it’s on our front garden but the cats are still pooing in the earth, close proximity to this! 6 weeks in and working really well
When I moved in my new house I found that some critter was using my lawn as a toilet big time. Not sure if it was the neighbours cats or the foxes – I’ve seen both but never caught the culprit at it. I had my doubts that any devices would actually deter the beasts but I was wrong wrong wrong. I cleared the lawn of poop, set the detectors up and that has been that (for the last 6 weeks at least). The foxes turned up once soon after but didn’t hang around, the cats sit on the wall looking in at the lawn and occasionally skirt round the edge of the house. But no poop. Not one on the lawn. There was a little protest poo outside the garden gate one time and I did notice that my neighbour’s garden is getting a bit smelly! We’re only 6 weeks in so I’ll keep this under review but so far so good.

    Cat free garden!
These sensors seem to be working well and keeping cats out of our garden. We’ve had quite a long standing problem with cats toiletting in our flower beds and on the lawn. This then has given our little Yorkie the chance to eat it, which obviously isn’t good for her. So we are relieved that this has solved a few issues.
I would say the biggest fault with the sensors is assembling them. The tiny screws are extremely difficult and fiddly to install, even with my nimble fingers and some patience it almost proved impossible. But need drove me on and eventually got the backs secure enough to keep them watertight. Definitely needs a redesign, because if you have poor dexterity it your hands it would not be achievable.
The batteries I put in 6 weeks ago are Duracell plus power ones and still going strong.
I only hope they last a long time so I don’t have to tackle the tricky installation again too soon!
The high frequency sound it gives off is inaudible to me and my husband, but my daughter can hear it clearly with her young ears.
I wait to see how effective the sensors are in the warmer weather when friendly cats are out and about more often!

This worked for me, I recommend
The morning after I first installed, the cat made a mess again. I then repositioned both units at either end of the artificial turf bed, facing each other. At the same time we set the frequency high as well. For over two months now, not a single incident. Since December we have had all sorts of weather, except snow and so far the pair has performed well.
Too early to say about battery life, even though the batteries I am using are not very expensive, so far after more than two months I did not have to replace them.

Purchased these to stop next doors cats from continually using our lawn as a litter tray.

Easy to put together, make sure that the weather seal for the battery cover is properly seated else you will have issues.

Nothing to show on the dials number wise. Just graduated size dots for both sensitivity and frequency.

I set the sensitivity to max, and the frequency to half way.

Positioned them so that the lawn is covered from both angles of attack, and one right in front of the cats favoured area, and they fire off with human movement from a good 10m away, evident by the blue pir illuminating.

I’m 42 and can’t hear them when they fire, my wife is 33 and can, my daughter is 12 and really can!

    So do they work?

1 week in and not a single poo!

    Time will tell.

Noted today though that a squirrel didn’t set one off, so went and checked and it was fine, maybe it got lucky!!

Bought a couple of these as had a local cat using the entry as a toilet – Had removed deposits and bleached a couple of times but cat kept coming back. Fitted one both ends of the entry at cat height and also spread some Chinese spice on the floor (post purchase advice from a friend) – Not sure which was the answer but no cat poop in 8 weeks since fitting so would give these at least some of the credit – Little blue light flashes when you hit the beam which is also a good battery indicator – Try the Chinese spice on it’s own for a quid or two first as I may have wasted money!

To put it simply, since installing these I haven’t seen a neighbour’s cats hanging around for very long.
On the downside is battery life. With four of these requiring a lot of batteries every few months, operational costs could be high. A solar power kit is an option I’m looking at. Until then it’s plastic plant pots over each one when I’m gardening and hope the cats go elsewhere.

    Poop no more!
So far so good! Have had an ongoing issue with cat poo since neighbour got a cat, mess on lawn and in flower beds nearly every morning. Have tried several things but still regularly getting unwanted gifts left on my new lawn! Decided to give these a go and have been poo free since I put them in the garden!!! About 2 months now and nothing…. not a single poop! I have them positioned in corners so the whole garden is covered. Blue light indicates when they are activated, as soon as I open the back door. Fingers crossed the batteries last well. Definitely recommend, wish I had got them sooner.

    So far so good!
I recently moved into a house where a dog used to live, since the previous owners moved, 4 cats in the area have homed in on my house and starting pooping in my front and back garden…. ALOT! I put these sensors up and so far the cat poop has 100% cut down. I also use Silent ROAR and have just got some holly to put down also. But these have been the biggest deterrent so far. Cats are clever and will find other areas to poop that the sensor doesn’t pick up hence why I have bought so many to cover my entire garden 🙂

    Effective immediately
This has been in our garden for a couple of weeks and has proved very effective so far. We had a problem with cats using our lawn as a loo and needed a deterrent. As soon as the first cat walked past it, it jumped in the air and ran away proving that the alarm’s motion sensor works, and that the sound is enough to deter cats. No little gifts waiting for us so far! My kids can also hear the sound too, so when they are out playing we turn it around to face the fence. Turns out my kids are foxes. I can’t comment on the battery power yet, but two weeks and still activating well.

    So far so good.
I’ve been plagued with an inconsiderate nearby neighbours cats for months. They irresponsibly allow their cats to breed constantly which has resulted in about 30 living feral in a small cul de sac. I’ve been used to clearing upto 10 poos a day from the front garden, side of the house and around in the back garden. It’s disgusting especially as I have a young grandchild that visits regularly and can’t just let her go outside to play. After trying nearly everything on the market these have been a god send. I purchased 5 in total. 2 in the front and back and one round the side. I’ve also put some black cat silhouettes out too. And it maybe too early to celebrate but in one week I’ve only had one poo to pick up.
We’ve had some horrible wet weather but they continue to work well.
I’ll update again in a few weeks to see if they are still working.
If only they worked well enough that would make the irresponsible neighbour leave the area as well.
**Update 4 weeks on ** I’ve had no smelly deposits left now in several weeks so it appears they are working well!! So highly recommend. Having had a different brand before and only one of them that didn’t work I do think you need a few placed out to get best coverage of effected areas. I check batteries daily and so far original batteries are still going strong. I’ve also noticed as well that I’m now getting birds visit the garden again as well.

So far so good, no more cats!!
So far it works. Every week we’d find 4-5 different cat stool around our driveway and considering our neighbour and 3 i’m not surprised. Since putting this in over a month ago, we’ve only come across 1 instance of stool on the property. Also we have seen the cats strolling past on the road and as they get close to outs the sound goes off and they hurry past the house.
So overall expensive bit of kit and fiddly trying to put the screws in which aren’t suited for even the slimmest fingers, i used a magnet to get it in place but it works so far.
