Strong root growth
Perlite as a grow medium strengthens root growth and also acts as a terrific insulator to protect plants from temperature changes.
Better nutrient absorption
Using vermiculite as growing medium will also enable the plant to more easily absorb the ammonium, potassium, calcium and magnesium necessary for vigorous growth.

This is a great value pack of perlite. I use this in my garden to help make soil lighter and free draining, That is perfect to mixing with compost to make a potting compost for seeds and cuttings, and also great for using in alpine and succulent planting. Those plants really need water to drain away quickly, so this additive will help to do that easily.
I really like using perlite as it is so lightweight. No heavy bags of grit to carry around the garden.
I highly recommend this product.

Never used Perlite before, noticed you can get a fair bit of dust in the air when adding to soil.

Great way to buy Perlite instead of paying much higher prices (per kilo) that garden centres and nurseries charge for smaller packs.
I wish I’d bought Perlite this way in previous years.
It’s just fed-ex they said they’ll deliver it on 13/5/21 but they deliver it by 8pm but delivered a day later 10.50am while I was at work. But one thing they did is put it in my safe place
it is a great product to add to compost to ensure enough air gets to the roots of plants in pots, especially in very wet weather.
Buying in bulk is worth while, decanted into smaller bags to keep the dust down, makes it easier to use.
Just what was needed to mix in with a load of heavy soil that I was moving to a raised bed. Very dusty, as expected, so make sure that you’re up wind when tipping it out.
100ltrs weighed approximately 9kgs (about 8 bags of sugar) so pretty easy to handle.
Just what I needed to plant out my veg. Mind the dust when you pour. Wear a mask if susceptible

Brilliant for keeping clumps out of bought compost. This bag was somehow dustier than others I’ve bought. The bag split very easily and I had to fix it with gaffer tape.
Great size bag. Having my garden done with troughs and planters so bought this to mix in with the compost as most of the plants needed light well drained soil. Very happy.

Considering this is usually sold in small bags, this size bag was ideal for me as I was regenerating 5 large planters ready for this season.
I had a problem with all the rain filling up these planters as I didn’t have them covered but the rain was excessive and the planters were overwhelmed!
Extra drainage holes and bark will help the water to drain better and the perlite also helps!
Absolutely huge. We bought it to build a good foundation for new turf. After sprinkling over the soil we found ourselves left with about 85% !!! This will last us good couple of years. Great value for money!!!

Arrived early. Pleased with product which I used to mix in with my compost and a small quantity of vermiculite all ready for seed sowing.
Haven’t used any yet this year but I bought the same brand a couple of years ago and it was very useful when planting my flowers and potting on seedlings

My order for the 100L bag of Pearlite arrived within 5 days, was in perfect order sealed in original Plant It bag and doubled bagged in black sack. Only 4 starts as opposed to full 5, as yet to test out the product, but all looks fine and no different to any other used in the past.
First time I have used this for gardening so I will have to see if it makes any difference. The published results and reviews encouraged me to try it out, so only time will tell.
Giant bag of Perlite delivered by Royal Mail in good condition. Granules are of a good size for mixing with compost as a sowing medium. The 100L bag will last for a couple of years. Good value

I have put tulips into several large containers to cheer up next spring. It is recommended to add perlite to your compost so that the bulbs don’t rot from the compost getting too wet. Small bags of perlite are expensive. This bag, same size as a large compost bag, offers excellent value for money. Even though perlite is light, the size of this bag means you need somewhere to store it and you need the same strength you need to move large bags of compost. The perlite was delivered as promised and it was well packed.

I bought this bag of pearlite to use as a heat resistant mortar fill material. It worked very well, but was just a little coarser than I would have liked for that purpose.
Having said that, if you were building a pizza oven or similar, the aggregate size would be perfect.

Huge bag, plenty to mix into your own potting mix. This has been excellent for helping me to modify the level of drainage in my soil for the needs of different plants. Would recommend.

Wasn’t too keen on it being double non bagged as I can’t see that stopping g sack splitting hut lucky me it came in one piece and no spillage, size of perlite is ideal for rooting rose cuttings . Used a soft drink bottle cut about two thirds from the top add a little compost and the enrest perlite and give it a shake . Will buy agai
Been brainwashed by Monty Don to use this mixed with compost. As I’m filling up a new small greenhouse with pots, I thought I’d give it a go.
It’s been superb and got a much higher seed
germination rate and a high potting on survival rate when this is mixed with compost.

Impressed with double sealed packaging, so none burst out. Seems good quality and delivered when predicted.
I bought this months ago, we use it a lot as we have an allotment and we still haven’t used up half the bag! Amazing value for money, easy to carry and very useful indeed. It does release a lot of dust so make sure to let it get wet before handling as the particles are damaging for your lungs.
If your looking for a MASSIVE bag of something that weighs absolutely nothing then this is for you, it also contains some volcanic rock stuff thats supposed to help in the garden or something but seriously this bag is huge and you can hold it out in one hand.

I used this product to plant up my geraniums for the winter in the greenhouse. Good value in is bulk size.
We use quite a lot of Perlite, to save ourselves some money we thought we would try this large bag.
It is better than we thought, the granules are of a good size, and for the price including delivery you can’t go wrong.

A good aid to growing on seedlings. Mixed with compost Perlite is a low cost addition to successful raising of seeds to blooms.

Great value supersize bag. Water the pearlier when opening as it keeps dust levels down making it easier to use. My 3rd bag and my cuttings and seedlings doing much better when planted in a compost/pearlite mix.
We have two things in our garden that benefit from this stuff, heavy clay soil and lots of stuff raised from seed / grown in pots
I have found that pot grown things particularly benefits from mixing this in the compost. Best bean harvest for years, incredible success with foxgloves and other from seed etc. Use approx 1/4 perlite to 3/4 compost
Once the pots have done their job, either raising seedlings or growing veg I empty the compost / perlite mixture in to the borders. It looks a bit odd for a while before the perlite mixes in
Had to buy another bag, as autumn arrives we are repotting some of the big perennial pots and want to get this in the mix to help the roots to breathe

Easy to work with but beware if sprinking into compost on a windy day as very light!
Excellent product, with great value for money. I have added pearlite to all of my indoor and out door plants, to help with drainage, and I am seeing results already. I filled at least 20 plants, and there is still so much of it left. It seems like this bag would cover at least 200 plants if mixed without materials.
My soil mix is:
1/3 perlite (1/2 for succulents)
1/3 Miracle Gro All Purpose SOil
1/3 Wrom Castings (natural fertiliser)
The only negative is due to its lightweight properties, it has a tendency to get everywhere. So, avoid using outside if there is any wind!
I was also conscious about the environmental factors, and how detrimental it is to wildlife. But I need to look more into this.
Very light in weight, much more than I thought never having used this product before.
i mix this in with soil for my cactus and succulents needed more and realised its only just over twice the price for a 100litre bag instead of 10 so ordered the 100litres this time.
This Perlite works really well – lightens the soil and seeds and cuttings grow and thrive very quickly. Wish I’d found this year’s ago!

I was using perlite on my green roof as it is light and works well to balance moisture content.
Despite it is very light heavy wind didn’t blow it away and sedum plants are growing nicely.
It’s perfectly good Perlite, if a bit dusty – it’s best used with good ventilation or outdoors, but not in a wind or it will go everywhere. A local independent, and normally good value, hardware shop sells tiny tubs of Perlite for about 3, enough for a single flowerpot, so 100 litres for 20 is an absolute bargain, though it’s surprising how quickly it gets used up. I got through an awful lot in large containers for my tomatoes this year and it would probably have been cheaper to buy tomatoes from the supermarket. To be honest, I’m not sure it was really any better than just using compost; cleverer people than me say it helps though. I might just use it for sowing seeds or taking cuttings in future. I must confess I don’t know what I’m going to do with all the spent compost mix at the end of the year. Any (polite) suggestions…?
Out of random interest, perlite is not toxic to dogs, after my gorgeous labradoodle wanted to try it!

Can’t really fault the price and size of the bag, I have used it for planting, landscaping and even as an additive for concrete to reduce the mass. Works well!
After already spending 7.99 for a 10L bag of Perlite (several times this year), it made sense to buy in a 100L bulk bag. What I don’t use this year I can safely store away until next year.
