Ring Fit Adventure (Nintendo Switch)

Mod 2 a

Level-up your character and yourself!

In Adventure mode, defeat enemies with attacks based on over 60 real-world exercises as you traverse more than 100 levels in over 20 worlds. As you work through each level (and possibly work up a sweat), you’ll earn experience points and collect ingredients to craft health-restoring smoothies.

Mod 2 b

Jog, Sprint, and high knee

Between fights, you may encounter some unusual methods of transportation such as squat-powered launch pads, waterfalls to paddle board up, and more! For more surprises, stop by towns and visit the General Store to get workout clothes that increase your attack and defence stats, or take on additional missions for super effective items.

Mod 2 c

Want to compete with others?

Pass around the Ring-Con accessory and select from 12 mini games: break boxes with gusts of air, craft pottery using squats, and more. If you’re looking for a more formal workout, you can create customised workout routines, mixing exercises and mini-games to help break a sweat. You can even track your performance with some estimated stats by using the Joy-Con (R)’s (sold separately) built-in IR Motion Camera, such as your heart rate and the amount of calories burned from your workout. This way, you can make sure you’re hitting your goals.

Mod 2 d

Go the extra mile!

You can even take the Ring-Con accessory with an attached Joy-Con controller (sold separately) on its own – without a Nintendo Switch. While you’re sitting at work or at a bench in a park, you can press and pull the Ring-Con to gain reps. Then, you can later sync the Ring-Con with your game to convert the stored reps into experience and in-game items for your character. Stay motivated and reap the rewards, both in and out of the game!

I bought for my 6 years old girl. She loves exercise so she asked me to buy it. I was quite impressed with ring fit. Little girl enjoyed it every time she plays it almost everyday and never got bored. 4 year old tried too but he is little too small and he needed help but he liked it too.

This is a great game that Ninento has came out with – they did it again! If your looking to get fit or just to play a game then this is for you. The workout that you can get from this is intense and you will be sweating from it! Would definitely recommend this if your looking to get fitter.

I have seen a few videos online of people who recommended this for getting fit and healthy. I can agree that is offers a very good workout and the intensity can be adjusted depending on who is using it. The game is good fun and the levels are varied. Also the ring itself is comfortable to hold and reassuringly sturdy.

Fantastic during lockdown and when the weather is rubbish. It’s a very entraining game and encourages you to do exercise more in the home. You don’t actually feel like you are exercising. You are the character and the character cannot walk run or do anything unless you do too!

I bought the ring fit not sure how effective the workout was going to be but I done my first workout yesterday and my body is aching after a 1 hour workout. There’s a few different ways to exercise, whether it’s the adventure mode, quick play or workouts that target a specific body part.
    Highly recommended.

This is fantastic and really enjoyable, which your playing a game whilst doing exercise at the same time. I’ve been on mine for a few days now and set the difficulty level at extreme and aiming to do about 30 minutes a day, I got to admit if you want to get in shape this game will push you, with it being a game as well it makes you want to do more rather than it feeling like a chore. Really reccomend this is you want to get more active and struggle if you struggle to find the motivation.

I bought this to help with lockdown. The only exercise I do at the moment is walking (and the horrible weather hasn’t helped with that), so until swimming pools and gyms are open and safe, needed to find something.

I’ve only been playing it 3 days but so far am happy with it. It is repetitive, but would never make myself do as many repetitions as it makes you do normally, so it’s good for your muscles. I wish more exercises were unlocked quicker, but I guess that helps with the longevity of the game. There is very little cardio in it – the main thing I dislike about this game is you only run for a minute or so at a time and then it’s straight into multiple sets of strength exercises. I’d rather it changed it up and you ran in between sets. So don’t buy this game if you are looking for an indoor cardio hit. But seeing as I never work my muscles, it’s good for me as it makes me do those repetitions. Sometimes the game gets in the way a little and you wish the dialogue was a bit faster, but yeah, I’m happy with the purchase. In normal pre-covid world, it probably wouldn’t be my fave way to get exercise, but it works for now.

Best fitness game. It really helps me to do exercise during the lockdown.

Thanks to various lockdowns and tiers I’ve obviously not been able to get back to my gyms. My motivation has gone straight out the window.

I kept seeing ads for Ring Fit, and during some part of last year it seemed to be a chore to try to get a hold of, but I managed to get one the other week. I bought it more out of curiosity rather than thinking it’ll be a serious exercise aid. Afterall, it does look very gimmicky like that Wii Fit Balance Board from yesteryear.

However, I was, and still am, pleasantly surprised at the workout that you can get from it. I often times found myself sweating and slightly out of breath. It gamifies your workout (you battle monsters using various exercises to generate attacks in the main adventure) and, as such, it has that “just one more go” feeling about it.

The only really issues I have is that the leg strap is forever falling down my leg, and the “pulse reader” often doesn’t read my pulse at all, that said it is using the joycon to read it, so very likely not accurate at all.

Sure, it’s not going to replace going to the gym in the long term or even running outside, but if you’re indoors isolating/shielding, then this isn’t a bad way to get some exercise in.

Can’t say enough positive things about this. I am so lazy and hate exercising, I’ve tried all sorts and nothing keeps me motivated because it’s boring and just not fun. I’m on week 5 of this and love it. Loads of little games and challenges, you constantly want to beat your highest score and beat others so adds a bit of a competitive element if you are into that. It has fun jogging trails and all sorts of exercises and yoga. There’s literally so much to do and so much variety that there’s not a muscle in my body that’s not aching. My shape and measurements have changed pretty dramatically in last month so I’m over the moon. I wasn’t big but lockdown had left me squishier than I’d like and this has been a godsend. It’s also strong. My husband weight trains and has crazy strength so I was cringing when he had his first go, I was worried he would break it but he literally squeezes it so hard it almost touches in the middle and it takes the battering without issue, on the other end of the scale I have my youngest daughter who has connective tissue disorder and is exercising to try to build some strength and she can use it too as it calibrates to a persons push and pull strength then sets it for every session. One minor criticism would be that the rhythm games are repetitive. I assumed they were all different but they are the same exercise just varying lengths and different music and background. Other than that it’s pretty perfect and hoping they release new games periodically. Love it.

I don’t usually write reviews but felt this was needed. If you want to exercise , lose weight and become healthier GET THIS GAME !!

If you had told me a week ago I’d be doing 80 squats today I would have laughed straight in your face and sat back down on the sofa to eat a piece of cake. This game tricks you into exercise , don’t get me wrong it is challenging and you do feel it in your muscles and you get sweaty and out of breath BUT you’re more focused on beating the level , collecting coins and kicking ass to notice too much that you’re exercising.

I hate going to the gym usually as its so monotonous after a while, but this is AMAZING!!
At first the price almost put me off but a friend recommended it and I’m glad they did!
I haven’t got bored of this since buying it over 2 months ago, the strength setting automatically adjust the more you play, but you can go down difficulty levels if your not ready to go hardcore just yet.
Can’t wait for the add ons but the adventure setting and gym and HIIT trains are pretty intense! 45 minutes feel like double the workout by the end and have had to take a few rest days due to the ache some days..
Would highly recommend! I’ve lost almost 2 dress sizes already (have been hitting it hard though and avoiding the treats I usually munch)… Word of warning though, have some cash spare to buy new clothes… Mine are hanging a bit now due to weight loss

Wife wanted it claiming that it would finally get her to work out. I doubt it for how could one use a game to some serious workout, or how could it drive someone who is never interested in exercising start moving.

Turns out I was wrong on the first point, it is a proper working out with a large variety of moves for almost the whole body with very clear instructions, and they are not easy. I’m sure if one continuously follow the game, it will pay off like a gym membership.

On the second point, wife is still not moving.

     United Kingdom

So I’ve had the ring fit for a few months now. I burn 200-400 calories per session according to my fitbit depending on how hard I push myself.

    Story mode:
Starts off a bit dull, there are only a few moves you can do. I guess that this happens because not everyone has the same level of fitness and they need to make sure that you can do it safely before progressing.
Levels are a mix of running, using certain moves and fighting enemies.
Later on you get more and more moves that you can do to target certain areas, some are quite challenging (in a good way). It has also made me aware of some weaknesses I need to work on, my abs and flexibility in my back definitely have improved doing these exercises, I feel more ‘well rounded’ in my fitness overall. You can tailor make your workout so if you’re feeling stressed, I select more yoga, when I want challenge I go for the more difficult and more cardio heavy moves.

Whenever I think the game gets too too easy and I’m not working hard enough I up the difficulty and I’m back to sweating again! Like all exercise you have to put the effort in, if I want to burn more calories I run ‘faster’ in the game or do high knees, if you do things in a ‘half a*rsed’ way you won’t burn as many calories.

Once you get to the point of earning skill points and levelling up certain skills the game is fun enough that you keep on wanting to play to get to the next skill point. The story is silly and endearing, I quite like finding out what will happen next.

Mini games: Mini games are really fun and some (squatery) are a real challenge. Playing with others really gets the competitiveness going! I didn’t do much rhythm games because they didn’t seem to be a work out to me.

You can select your own workouts, and this part I have only started to do. It’s better for when you are short on time. There are some moves you don’t tend to use (that recover your life) because you get so many potions in the main game that do the same thing without taking a turn. So I put a few of these exercises into a more tailored workout (legs, arms, abs or cardio) as they are great exercises, but as they don’t do damage the main game they seem a bit pointless.

  76. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

It’s so much fun for all the family even if you don’t exercise you can choose your difficulty and change it accordingly, had such a laugh doing it but you also feel it,a good fun way to exercise ,would definitely recommend

  77. Victoria Kezra says:

     United Kingdom

I have a very high level of fitness and train 5 – 6 days a week so was expecting this to be fun but not enough to challenge me thinking it was aimed at couch layabouts.

However I was really impressed at how robust the ringcon is and there is a huge variety in difficulty levels so that everyone can actually benefit from beginner to someone very fit. My wife uses this and selects a lower difficulty and gets a good workout, I selected the highest difficulty and its hard if you do the exercises properly.

adventure mode is really fun as well and the length is decent, lots of maps and levels and enemy types, and fighting enemies is really well thought out as well. I can’t recommend this game enough especially in the current lockdown environment, however I have seen price hikes now, it was under 70 for me as retail price and I’m now seeing it being flogged for over 100, wait for them to come back in stock instead.

Really like the standard of quality Nintendo provide. This product is on the more expensive end of gaming, but if you want something to gameify the workouts this is great proof it can work. I used it everyday for 10 days straight, for about 15 mins. It got me sweatier than most workouts i tried and i enjoyed it all the way through. It has a good range of modes, the mini games are quite entertaining as a diversion and all feel fun. There’s a basic rhythm game mode that has some Nintendo songs added, quite entertaining and will help work a sweat. The main adventure mode though is a mix of jogging, ab compression and battling monsters with sets of skills (which are the workouts). you unlock more as you go, or can just play any set in the main screen at the start. It’s been great for quarantined workouts or when you just aren’t feeling that outdoor run.

It took me some time to get hold of this, including using a third-party stock checker to find out when it was in stock. Now I have one, these are my thoughts.

Ring and legstrap: The ring is surprisingly well made and stands up to the daily abuse of a workout. I wouldn’t be surprised if the leg-strap for the joy-con loses elasticity first, but this can probably be replaced when need.

Game: The game is fun and designed with all ages in mind. It allows you to set the difficulty in terms of resistance, meaning that workouts can be as tough as you want. I am reasonably fit and was pleasantly surprised at how tired I felt after a session. I think this will be a great aid to other forms of exercise (such as running, cycling etc). I use it on the no-run option, because I don’t think running on the spot is particularly good for your joints.

Absolutely brilliant, so glad I waited for Amazon to get it back in stock for a reasonable price.
I am not able to do all the exercises so I work on the individual games, this allows me to work different areas within my limits. It has a good mix of strength and stretching exercises.
My daughter plays the ring quest part, she initially thought it was an exercise program that adds new exercises and gets progressively harder as you work through.
But it is more game like, you earn points to get items – outfits and smoothies – to boost your defence, she has been unable to progress past the current level and is going back to earlier levels to get coins for items, then going back to the other level but she doesn’t have enough items to help her yet.
Her comment is it can’t decide if it’s a game or an exercise program, if they’ve tried to go for a balance between the two they haven’t achieved it.
When we get together as a family we play games, I think this will be a good one to do with them but it’s not an option at the moment.

Wow, what a workout. I am fairly overweight and this workout has given me a good sweat, my legs are also sore! Will definitely keep playing!

I’m 33 and bought this for a bit of light exercise (light is is NOT) during lockdown. My sons are 7 and 8 and they love playing it too. My daughter is 3 so not quite strong enough but she watches and runs along with whoever is playing.
I love how the level is adjusted based on your own physical strength and fitness. Means my 7 year old beats me and his brother regularly!

After looking for this game all over. I finally got it. A great product, but not worth the extra 20 Amazon is charging. I paid 89.99.
That was just profiting off the pandemic. Keep looking.

I love this game. Its so much fun and it actually keeps you fit. One of the most interactive and enjoyable fitness games out there in my opinion. I would recommend it to anyone that’s even slightly interested in keep fit and gaming. 10/10 Quality produc

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought one in December 2019 but haven’t used it much until the lock down as I used to swim every morning instead. I thing im on day 22 straight now on level 100. I would suggest to set it up first on casual intensity until you get the feel of it. I changed mine to level 20 intensity recently which is waaaay harder than my previous level 15. I lost some weight as well and my back pain dissapeared.
I love turn based rpgs so For me the “gameplay” is the best part. I dont feel Im doing excersises at all. I noticed I can go on for an hour just to get an item i want or just one more quest, just more more… i love griding in usual rpgs as well and in this one too, but even if you never played a turned based rpg in your life I would still recommend it
I found gyms boring so this is a nice alternative. Be aware tough that because of the current situation some sellers increased its price a LOT. I bought mine for 64.99 which was a fair price. I wouldn’t pay more than 80 for it unless you know you are going to use it every day and you have no other option for exercising.

This is the best exercise equipment I’ve been waiting for for a long time. It’s super fun and interactive, and it’s very professional.
And it is the most cost-effective fitness tool in this period.

The game suits all ages, though the storyline seems to be more aimed at younger players but it keeps you interested in the game. The mini games are challenging enough that you want to get a top score in them. Nintendo have done well to combine the game with a mode of fitness and so far I’m enjoying it whilst giving myself a good workout and aching a little after! I’ve never used my shoulder muscles this much!

If you’re like me and struggle to find the motivation to go to the gym but love gaming, look no further.

The game comes complete with the game cartridge, leg strap and ring. It’s extremely easy to setup as the game talks you through everything.

It starts off creating your profile and calibrates both the leg strap and ring to you. It picks up your strength and current fitness level (to a certain degree) and from there, you’re ready to rock and roll.

You set the intensity of the training you want (which you can change any time) then your free to pick what you want to play.

We’ve only played the story mode, however it’s very engaging and after 10 mins, not only are you fully immersed, but you’ll feel the burn!

Great game and fantastic way to keep fit.

100% worth the struggle to get it! Corona lockdown has meant this game is very difficult to get as many nasty people are buying and selling for double or more of the price. I made sure to keep an eye on UK stock check and bought from amazon when it was avaliable at its RRP. This game is so fun and the ring is surprisingly strong. I definitely recommend this game and the new dance DLC extra is so good.
