My son thought this would be good for us to use with Sanitizer in for using in the church where we are the caretaker. It is super easy and is so much better than wipes. My son as several filled with different solutions.

The pressure is very good, on my previous sprayer there was a means of attaching the wand to the bottle for storage but not really a problem. Using it to spray Patio Magic so will how often the nozzle needs cleaning.
For a non-toxic way of controlling algae on flagstones Patio Magic is as it says……Magic.

    I have 4 of these products –
    One for weed killer
    One for disinfectant
    One for plants
    One for dyed water
I use the weed killer to kill those pesky weeds
I use the disinfectant to clean my animal ambulance
I use the plant one for pest control
I use the dyed water one to write silly messages in the snow to amuse myself
Don’t waste your money on any other product, this one is a winner ..

Great product, worth the money, still takes 5l plus air to pressurise so a true 5l sprayer.

Light, well clips in place once used, carry handle is sturdy and reliable even up a ladder. Nice pressure release valve so you don’t have to get sprayed in the face or hands topping it up again. Would consider buying a larger one for bigger projects, was very happy with this purchase

I was after a garden sprayer replacement for quite some time and this Spear & Jackson was perfect.

It’s well built and doesn’t feel cheap and flimsy.

I’ve used it for those pesky weeds in the garden!

    Well worth the purchase.

Not a very good variable sprayer nozzle and considering it was advertised fr paint, it got gummed up pretty easily.
However the paint I was using was water based and it cleaned up well and easily after use.

I bought this to spray weedkiller on my patio, and it performs that job well. It’s cheaper than some and some of the plastic parts feel a little bit flimsy, but look after it and it should last. The pressure is good and the wand is a good length. The lever can be locked in the “on” position to save having to squeeze it constantly.

It takes about 20 pumps to get to working pressure, then just needs 10 pumps every few minutes to keep it going.

Overall I’m happy with it for occasional home use.

Have used this a couple of times so far and seems to be ok. Only criticism is the adjustable nozzle is not easy to adjust and is very stiff, the adjustment is also very fine when you do manage to adjust it going from a jet to a full spray in a matter of couple of mm turn. Appart from that all else seems good, nice sturdy strap, good filling hole. Could have done with a wand clip through for storage.

Great sprayer for weeding etc. Bought two as were on special offer so will do me for couple of years. I had read other reviews before purchasing so I can also vouch for this great product. I am very happy overall but it really needs a better shoulder strap but at the price i am still happy overall. Made from very sturdy material and I always wash the container out as well as run very warm water through spray nosil after each use.

Bought two of these and both have broken with minimal use. Pressure doesn’t hold in one and other snapped far too easily across the spraying arm.
Can’t return or get a refund as didn’t start using them immediately.
    Would not recommend.

This product is very easy to use. The only concerns I have is about the red cover over the nozzle. My first one split after a few uses. However I do like the sprayer and have bought a second one which hopefully will be ok

Whilst being quite light weight, this seems quite robust, pressurises well and delivers an effective spray pattern. Only time will tell it’s durability but seems good value

Used this many times now. Easy to put together. Screw up top with good clear measuring marks. Use it for large areas of paving with my patio magic liquid. Direct spray nozzle easy work. Easy pump action and top carry handle as well as body cross body strap. Great piece of equipment. Can spray up walls and I love it.

Had another one before which lasted 10/11 years and the sunlight eventually degraded the plastic. Small improvements in design make it easier to use. Good range of spray available from nozzle. If you want it to last a lifetime…….keep it stored out of the sun. Excellent.

Title says it all, really. This bears a trusted name, and seems to have good manufacturing tolerances and quality control (no burrs or molding artefacts). The tubes slot together snugly and the threaded fasteners do up tight. On my one the valve under the thumb trigger happens to drip when the bottle is under pressure. Hardly a show-stopper.

I bought this to do a bit (well a lot) of weed killing and it didn’t let me down. Worked as expected and was quite cheap. If asked I’d recommend as I had no issues or problems with this purchase.

After I first used it all it did was squirt all the air from it. No liquid came out.
Investigation showed a missing pipe between the pump head and the liquid bottle. I had an old pump so I robbed a part from this. Once fitted it worked perfectly. Sadly Amazon has wrong info on its returns. Spear and Jackson said it was up to Amazon to fix. Having looked at the return procedure I decided it was not worth it for 9.99 so did not proceed. It’s doing the job and my old one was dead.

Bought this to use instead of the weed-killers with integrated sprays that I have found often don’t work for long – if at all; the last one didn’t and is ready to take to the local reclamation centre. I hope now that I only have buy the refill weed-killers.
This was easy to set up and begin using. It’s just the right size versus full laden weight and I like too that the amount of liquid in the tank is visible.
I’ll probably buy another for the alternate purpose!

Golden Review Award: 29 From Our UsersSprayer works perfectly and makes weed killing large areas so much easier and in the long run a lot cheaper! With the 20 bottle of concentrate I bought I’ll easily have enough weedkiller for at least 2 seasons and thats covering a huge area of gravel drive which keeps growing weeds.

    What I love:

    – Easy to pressurise with just 25 pumps maximum
    – Safety features, pressure release valve and spray trigger lock
    – Good spray pattern (adjustable)
    – Handy shoulder strap

    Issues:

    – Wish wand was a little longer. I’m 6ft and need to bend over a little which after a while gets uncomfortable. But for the price its still getting 5 stars

I bought this after trying “pump and go” weed killers, trouble is those sprayers are awful!! So I decanted the contents into this and spayed they garden very effectively.

I’ve now purchased a concentrated weed killer to use in it.

(Be careful with weed killers and always read the instructions) [i labelled my sprayer to reflect the contents]

Even after researching something before you buy it, you are still slightly apprehensive that it may not live up to expectations. It arrived very promptly, was well packaged. Required only the spray arm to be screwed on and away it went. Great value for money from a well known name and has done a good job.

The product is a pump action garden weed killer spray. It arrived on time but I haven’t used it yet. I have a similar one and I’m sure they both operate in the same way and will be very useful. The two together will have different chemical products within for different weed growth.

After seeing numerous videos on youtube about folk using pressure sprayers for a quick shot of air to seat their tyres I thought i’d give it a whirl after a few unsuccessful attempts with my track pump, i so nearly bought one off Marketplace then thankfully noticed this, was the cheapest and made by a company I’m familiar with.

The quality for the price is excellent, it took me literally a minute to convert it for use on my tyres, also disregarding the long lance (which isn’t required for use on tyres) it strips down and all goes inside the bottle for neat storage. I’ll also add there’s a spring loaded release valve that will blow off should the pressure become too great but it’s my guess you wouldn’t get anywhere near.

This sprayer is decent for the money. It seems pretty robust and holds the pressure for a decent amount of time. As you pump it you can feel the pressure building up, normally about 12 is enough. Easy to fill up. The nozzle twists to adjust the width of the spray, at its maximum, it’s not huge so good for directing the spray where you want it.

  27. Anonymous says:

A good quality garden sprayer. No assembly needed. Easy to use and clean. Feels sturdy. Only fault I could give is that the carry stray isn’t the greatest. It’s ok if you only partly fill the container but isn’t comfortable when its full.

  28. JavierSywowxae says:

Got it out of the box and set up in a minute or two.

It’s really easy to use, just fill up with water and whatever additive you plan to use and give it a quick shake and your all set. It does state that its 25 max pumps, I did 20 each time I used it and that lasted for the entire duration of the 2L that I filled it with.

One thing I missed the first time I used it was that once you press the trigger down you can slide it up to lock it in position. This takes the strain off your your fingers or thumb if your spraying a large area.

Excerlant, so glad I went for the spear and Jackson. Worked realy well got the job done realy fast, used it to wet and forget my concrete. The only minor issue was the lid come loose twice effecting the pressure only had to re tighten it then pump again all back to normal. Good product do recomend.

Satisfies my nastier instincts by enabling mass destruction of weeds. Has a decent spray coverage which is far better than the miserable dribble that you get from the pre filled pump action sprayers, and much easier than a hand spray. Pump to activate and release the pressure with the valve to stop. Once you’ve got that worked out its a doddle.

Nearly all of our garden is covered with stones so requires little maintenance. However we do suffer with weeds coming up through the stones.
We got this sprayer to help control the weeds. Its very easy to assemble and comes with a strap for putting round your should. To use the sprayer you simply add water and weed killer and then pump the handle 20 to 30 times.
When full theres enough spray to cover our garden (20ft x 16ft) 2 or 3 times.

wish I bought sooner. It’s worked great on the couple uses for weed killing and patio magic.
Note that this is not by any means a good pressure, so no good for cleaning car, dog or patio. But it is great for applying applications that do the work for you.

Purchased this to spread glyphosate around my garden due to an influx of extremely stubborn weeds which had taken over the entire lawn. The only solution was to nuke the entire site from orbit.

This pressure sprayer made short work of it, it had a decent spray and good coverage from the nozzle. It’s very easy to control the spray so you don’t end up overspraying. I was done in record time and with no back ache. 2 weeks later my entire lawn was dead.

This was about 3 months ago, now I just need to buy some grass seed and start from scratch. I’ll get round to it eventually…

I’ve bought cheaper versions before but they either leak or just don’t perform the task very well. The first thing I noticed when I unpacked it was how much better quality all the components were. The plastic on the tank is a lot thicker, better quality hose and it was really easy to assemble, within minutes I was in the garden testing it using water. I’m using it as a bug sprayer for the plants in my greenhouse and it works brilliantly.

This arrived very quickly, I immediately got to work eradicating the weeds.
The pump action works really well, no batteries or power cords to worry about, and the bottle/cylinder is made of super thick plastic, this thing feels like it will last for decades…..which is good, because the weeds will always return.

    Excellent garden spraye

It is small. But it’s effective. But it won’t fit in your pocket, so I don’t get to call it a “pocket rocket”, sadly.

It does what it says on the tin. I’ve only rated it four stars overall, as a lot of the parts are plastic, but realistically, this is reflected in the price. Used this to “Wet & Forget” my decking and fence and it did the job perfectly, but required several refills, due to being so teeny.

This item is solidly built and, on test, produces a soaking fine spray after 20 pumps for about 3 minutes. Just as you need for the job. This was on a one day deal for 11. Good deal, great sprayer.

I bought a piece of Pacific Rim junk for 5 more last year and complained in my review about spray performance. 20 pumps lasted about 20 secs! and the spray was crap. (Just in case you were interested, you can find it as: “Femor 3L Pump Action Pressure Sprayer, Spray Bottle Yellow Sprayer Knapsack Spray Weed Killer Garden”) Don’t tell AZ I told you. This a clear copy of the Spear and Jackson – just sub standard rubbish.

Makes spraying my plants a lot easier on the wrists than using my standard spray bottle.
When the liquid level gets low you need to tilt the nozzle upright to enable the liquid to be pulled through which is a bit awkward but a common issue with spray bottles.
It is a little heavier than I expected but does feel sturdy.
If I was to buy another I think I would get one with an extender/hose attachment so that I didn’t have to bend down to the plants.

Spray is very good. Pressure is very good. Brilliant. Don’t do as I have done and leave it in the greenhouse. Greenhouses cook these things and they break. Keep it in a shed

This is fantastic. I use this with a diluted disinfectant and spray round the garden where my dogs have been. Has a trigger log so you can just point and spray. It is a gentle spray under the pump pressure from the pump and gas a good enough spray coverage.

I’ve got one filled with Iron Oxide remover to clean wheels and get contaminants out of car paintwork.

The second is filled with a strong citrus degreaser pre wash for the lower panels and underneath.

Summary: you get a good adjustable spray out of these, whatever you fill them with. Pressure seems high so will keep going longer. Pump is easy to use and has a nice locking feature on the handle so you can carry it easily, as well as the shoulder strap.

The product works as described. The graduated volume measure is really useful, very good spray coverage and the pressure pump works as described. However, it could lose pressure as the shoulder strap tend to inadvertently come in contact with the pressure release valve. Instructions on box and tank about how to lock and unlock the trigger not clear so took me a while to figure this out. I’d advise you to get the extendable wand and sprayer if your plan to use this for lawn treatment, especially if you’re taller than 1.7m as you’ll struggle to get the solution onto the right spots on the lawn on windy days.

We bought this pressure sprayer primarily to wash the ‘after the walk’ mud from our dog before getting him back into the car. Previously we’d have to go through the washing and drying ritual when we arrived home even though by then he’d already have deposited much of the muck in the car boot.
Now we just fill up the 5 litre bottle with hottish water (40 ish?) and a little dog shampoo before we start. We leave it in the car covered with the dog towel to stop it cooling down too quickly while we walk the boy, and when we get back to the car park we pump it up and hose his muddy bits down before drying him off and getting him back aboard. Even on a cold day, and after an hour and a half plus walk, the water is still warm enough to give him a comfortable spray down – and wash your boots or wellies too. Everybody’s happy. Brilliant!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI’ve read a lot of the negative revues and to be truthful, was a little bit wary. Spear and Jackson have always been good, and it seemed the best of the bunch, so I went for it.
All in all, it works great. Arrived well on time. Sturdy and strong enough for the job its meant to do, and certainly have not had a problem with leaks or such. Providing you don’t over tighten things, and don’t pump it till you can’t move the plunger anymore (about 12 pumps on a half full tank gave adequate pressure), it should be fine. I use a smear of vaseline on all the seals, and haven’t had a problem.
I am only using water through it. I didnt buy it to use chemicals with, but, providing they are water based and totally liquid ( unlike some fence paints ) I can’t see there being a problem.

I’ve only used the “Spear & Jackson Pump Action Pressure Sprayer, 5 L” once so far.
It’s worth noting that although the instructions say not to give it more than 25 pumps, that must be on a half full container as I couldn’t get more than thirteen done on a full one before the pressure relief started to complain. It holds the pressure well and only needed pumping up 3 times for 4 litres on the finest setting.
I used it to apply tree wash to a cherry tree and some fruit bushes and the spray was fine enough to thoroughly soak everything with no drips from connectors or the nozzle.
    Amazing value for money.

I bought this spear and jackson sprayer along with the extendable wand attachment as I often find the sprayer wand too short for accurate application. I only used the long arm which attached easily and used it to spray all the weeds on the driveway. Very accurate sprayer and nozzles, easy to pump up and build pressure. Really pleased with this purchase, for the price it’s great value and feels better made than ones that I’ve used before

Have used it to spray the weeds in my garden 3 times now and has saved me a huge amount of time compared to a hand held weed killer spray.

Have tried it out and it seems to work ok, having adjusted it to give a circular mist spray that I will use for spraying weedkiller.
The nozzle is long enough that you can spray without bending over and it has a strap to carry it around your neck.
You can adjust for other patterns, but I will only be using this for weedkiller .
The pump handle seems a little flimsy, however, with care and the fact it won’t get excessive use , it should be ok
It seems good value for the 10 I paid for it.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersEverything is ok, it assembled easily and pumping up to pressure was fine. The issue only showed when I came to use it. The spray air is way too short. To spray weeds I have to lean well forward and work in that position or the spray drifts off away from the plant. Result – back and shoulder ache that is as bad as if I had bent down to pull the weeds out. My vote is, don’t be so mean with the hard plastic spray line. make it 150mm lounger so that average height people (I am 5ft 10″) can stand upright while using it.

I bought this to spray weedkiller on a driveway. Construction seems solid enough and it did the job well.

The only issues I found were:

    1) The lance isn’t very long. I’m 6 feet tall and found that to direct the spray to where I wanted it on the driveway I had to continually stoop. This wasn’t a big problem but on a bigger driveway I’d have ended up with backache.

    2) The shoulder strap wasn’t any use – partly because I needed to stoop to use the thing properly. It meant that I ended up carrying the spray by the pump handle. Again this wasn’t a big problem, but made it less comfortable to use. Five litres of liquid aren’t so heavy to carry.
    1) For me the shoulder strap was of pretty much

Had a big problem with spray attachment which is meant to stick in end of hose, you put it in and it just gets blown out by the smallest amount of pressure put into bottle. At first it annoyed me but after thinking I went bought some super glue and just stick it in its slot. After that it works a treat and works well. For the price it’s worth the hastle of buying some glue for a small issue

For the price this is a very sturdy item! It was easy to assemble and use (I filled it with water to test out and had fun watering plants in my garden). It gives a fine spray option which is just what I need to do my lawn weed killer (i have weed infested grass). It also has the option of a stream spray too.
Spear and Jackson is a great reliable make – every piece of garden equipment we own is this make (lawn mower, pressure washer, scarifier, hedge trimmer) and none of them have failed us yet!

I had this bought this nervously but it wasn’t necessary. This is really well made very easy to set up and has the mister light sprinkler spray that I wanted for my flowers so that I don’t bend them when watering them. I think the Olive tree also thanked me for misty sprinkle of water on its leaves, really happy

Having become fed up with a certain other manufacturer’s spray ( you know the yellow one) as it would not hold its pressure I thought I would try Spear & Jackson. The price was reasonable and if it had not worked I would not have wasted a lot of money. I am delighted to report that my money was not wasted. I usually fill to 2.5 litres and pump about 30 times. With that I can spray all my roses with a fine strong spray.
A criticism. The top can be difficult to undo but tightening is easy. A thin strap for carrying is supplied and is I assume meant to go over the head and rest on the shoulder but as it is so thin I fear that, if filled to the maximum it would cut in.
I was so pleased with the spray that I bought a second to be kept for weeds.
But for the unscrewing and the thin strap I would have given it “a five”

Using this to both keep aphids off the cherry tree and for use with weed killer to keep the weeds down on the patio etc.
Obviously making sure it gets well cleaned out between uses but this is pretty easy.
It’s made both jobs far easier than using the old squirty gun style sprayers or the cheaper small 1l sprayer I first got from Tescos.
    Definitely would recommend

I only received this yesterday and used it for the first time today with some insecticide and it worked perfectly

I think it’s good practice to release the pressure when you’ve finished using the pressure release valve

    Recommended especially at the price

Took me a while to work out how to use as instructions are not great on the box. The pressure goes down rapidly! Wasn’t impressed at all, but it does the trick I suppose, I would recommend but ask for more instructions how to use before going ahead with confirmation of buying, my only down fall on this product.

So far, so good! I bought it to use for weed killer, but today i used it to waterproof our tent and it was great, im so pleased i didnt have to ise the pump spray that came with the waterproofer bottle.
So easy to use and the spray was consistent.
Seems sturdy enough. Lets see how long it lasts.

Great little water pump! I use it for watering my vegetables in my garden! I had a 1litre pump but had to keep refilling multiple times! So purchased this to save some time! And got it for 12 on a lightning deal! And could not be happier works very well! Love the ease of use! And the nozzle arm is plenty long to reach everything, pressure is very good also!
Shoulder strap is very nice also makes it easier to carry and support the wait!
The only downside I have which doesnt affect the product from what I can tell!
Is where the tube attaches to the actual bottle it tends to bend and squash! Due to there not being support on the outer section!
But as mentioned it seems to not impact the products use at all! And it still works fine! I used duct tape to just reinforce the tube to stop it bending to the point if breaking
(This is why I have only rated 4 stars and not 5) if this was more reinforced it would easily be a 5 star!

So I was in the landscaping industry for over 17 years. Have now left and need to spray my drive. Looked at getting a industrial Knapsack but what’s the point. So did a bit of research and came across this one. It’s absolute perfect for home use, light weight great results and with a fine mist you won’t go wrong. The lance is a bit short but for the money you can’t grumble. Could not recommend enough.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor the price.. it works very well. I am a farmer (hard to please). I have used many sprayers behind tractors in my time on this earth to date and water pressure and how spray is dispersed is everything. Spray ejects in a circle. I would have preferred just a 180 degree straight line. Pressure could always be better but for the price is a very good little sprayer. Want more pressure .. buy a more expensive one. DId this fine for spraying 0.5 acres of weeds on my lawn to prep. for seeding.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhen I first tried to use it was rubbish!
I subsequently found the pipe in the tank was split where it connects at the top.
I trimmed off the split bit and it now works fine!
So I would imagine if you get one that’s not split it will work fine from the start.
I take it in the car to wash the dog down after muddy walks and the pressure is spot on for this purpose.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersAlthough bought some time ago I only just used this last weekend. Everything was going great for a while but before finishing the task air started leaking out of the pressure release valve so it was impossible to build up any pressure to get the sprayer to work. I can’t actually see anything wrong with the valve itself. I’ve tried to find how I can complain about this on the Amazon site but can’t find it. Have also searched and searched to see if I can find a replacement pressure release valve to buy but no luck. If anyone knows of where I can find one (or has one they want to sell) please let me know. Thanks.

Just an update – I finally contacted Spear and Jackson by email to tell them about my problem. They replied the same day and are kind enough to send me a replacement pressure release valve with their compliments. Needless to say I have changed my rating (and my opinion) of them although I shouldn’t have had the problem in the first place.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased a similar product last year and it fell to bits. I bought this one as a replacement because of the name Spear and Jackson, however don’t be fooled it was identical to my earlier one. It seems they are all made cheap in the same factory with differing colours and badged. Its been used once for weed killer and seems ok. Time will tell how many times I will serviceable.

Perfect for applying ‘Wet and Forget’ to paving slabs, which is the job I bought this for.

The nozzle is angled just right to reach those pesky areas like under steps etc, and the spray can be adjusted too. Bit heavy to carry on my shoulder, so I just leave it on the floor and pick it up and move it along while I’m using.

Excellent product, very easy to use.

I purchased this pump action pressure hose 5 months ago and have been using it regularly. I must say that it appears to be a well made piece of kit, performing as it should every time I use it. My use is rather different to most as I purchased this to use as a portable solution to hosing my dogs paws down after a run in the woods.

For the price, I can’t see how you could go wrong with this. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a pump action pressure hose.

Delighted with this. It came ready assembled and ready for use. Clear instructions on how to use it are printed in large letters on the side, together with Litre or Ounce measurement lines to fill it up to.
Beautifully designed and works perfectly. No leaks, easy to fill, easy to pump, easy to release vacuum. The sprayer nozzle sprays perfectly, and it has a large wide spray that covers a large area, – approximately .75 of a meter – or can be adjusted down to a very narrow spray. The spray is a very fine spray, so gives very even coverage of the area to be sprayed. It took me 5 minutes to spray 2 litres using the widest spray onto a lawn which is 10metres x 5 metres. Very easy to hold, either using the shoulder strap or holding it by the top handle. A really good quality item and extremely easy to use.

Got this after having a smaller spray bottle from the DIY store explode while spraying creocote onto some new fence panels. Decided to go for this one due to its inclusion of a safety valve, to hopefully try to prevent any more unexpected explosions.

For finishing up the rest of the creocoting, this bottle was brilliant. After having spent half an hour doing 2 fence panels with a paint brush, using this allowed the remaining 6 panels to be sprayed in half an hour. Suffice to say, this one did not explode after doing both sides and I will definitely be using it in the future for any more projects requiring spray bottles!

A nice little extra as well is the hose is fully detachable which makes for easy cleaning, and the whole thing feels really solid. Would strongly recommend!

For the money I think this is a great purchase for light-duty spraying.

I previously had a similarly cheap sprayer purchased from a local big-shed store, but it only lasted for one season before the trigger on the wand packed up.

This Spear & Jackson while similar in a lot of ways, feels generally better quality across-the-board and it has so far dealt with Summer and Autumn spraying with no problems. Should it pack up sooner than I expect then I will update this review accordingly, but for the price of c. 7.36 (at time of review – normal price 11.99) I think that’s a very good price for what you get.

The pump-action works as expect with the usual twist to unlock mechanism on the pump handle, and the wand is a good length with expected operation. There is a carry strap attached to the main bottle for added convenience.

I purchased this to water my many houseplants. It’s extremely reasonably priced, comes complete with no need to purchase a hose extension, and sets up in seconds. I’m thrilled, and it’s so much easier than going in and out with several watering cans.

I am glad I just use it for water, however, as it can suddenly develop a slight leak near the trigger as it becomes looser with use. It’s easily fixed and may stop entirely with more use, but I was glad I just had rainwater on my hands. The trigger also has a locking mechanism, but that slips out with the slightest pressure. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it despite this – it’s fantastic for the price, it’s just something worth keeping in mind.

This sprayer has very good seals! I mention this because my previous sprayer (a different make) leaked fluid from every seal in the wand and leaked air from the bottle after only a few months use. This one is still air-tight after months of use and will actually hold pressure for a couple of weeks when not in use. Yes, I know I should de-pressurise it after use but I’m lazy. Still, whenever I get it out to use it again after a couple of weeks in storage I’m always surprised that it is still holding pressure. Great product!

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersReally easy to use. Just add the water and whatever additive you wish to spray, pump it up and off you go. The video is of my daughter applying Verdone lawn weedkiller.
I also have the kingfisher sprayer which is a similar price and although this is nearly identical in design this one seems to be slightly better put together. The pumping action of the Spear & Jackson branded one seems to be more robust. Buy this one.

    Top marks

Ok i bought this for a completely different use. being on a water meter you forget how long the hose is on, so i use this to clean my bike after rides, i wasn’t aware at the time i bought it, but it has a pressure release valve, which is what caused my another hand one i used to split under too much pressure, so you can just pump without worrying too much, also you can pull the valve up to release excess pressure after use on emptying. nozzle adjust from fine to jet, lance is better as i can get right in to awkward areas without bending right down, handle locks in so you can lift right from handle. works really well couldn’t believe the price didn’t think it would be as well made as it was.

I purchased this as a replacement for my old sprayer after i accidentally stepped on its wand and broke it. best accident of my life i didn’t realise how bad my old spray had been until i got this one , great pressure, no dribbling and the total build quality is leaps and bounds better than my previous one. the spray is even and powerful enough to wash off stains from the leaves without damaging fragile foliage.

This was received as part of the review process.
I only give true and nonbiased reviews so if you think I’m waffling the item crap.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe Spear & Jackson Pump Action Pressure Sprayer offers great value for money, just 7.99 at time of purchase. Compared to other similarly priced sprayers I have used, it simply blows them away.

I used this sprayer for the first time today with dilute weed killer – the markings on the bottle helped with mixing ratio. 20 pumps and the bottle is up to pressure for a good 5 minutes of spraying. you can adjust the nozzle for a fine mist at its tightest and loosen off for a jet. Compared to other sprayers I have used i was surprised to notice absolutely no leaks whatsoever – vital when using industrial strength weed killer! I shortened the strap to more of a carry handle than over the shoulder strap as i found that the easiest way to carry it, the wand is easy to use requiring only light squeezing. Over all a great product and i can’t wait to see the results from the spraying!

Based on my experience of using it to spray weed killer I may purchase another to use for spaying all purpose cleaner for detailing my car! I can imagine lots of uses for spraying anything with a watery consistency – maybe even wood stain (not paint).

Works as a pressure sprayer as expected. Design of it means undoing the cap bit tricky if you have weak hands as the grip you can get on it is hampered by the pressure relief valve on one side and the lance connector on the other. The lance tip is plastic rather than metal (which I had in my previous one) and I don’t know if it will last as well. My last sprayer developed a split in the lance handle (causing a leak) hence getting this replacement. Good value when on special offer.

Received mine today via Amazon. Very fast delivery. Looks like an excellent product. Very cheap too! Well designed and strongly made. Only found one minor fault – the adjustable nozzle was so tight I could hardly move it. I finally managed to unscrew it completely, then gave it a good dose of WD 40. It’s fine now. Actually you do not need to move it much to vary between a fine spray and a powerful long range jet.
I needed it for long range weed-killing as the offending growth was adjacent to my property but not accessible by foot.

Golden Review Award: 85 From Our UsersI’ve been looking for a decent sprayer for a week or so, and have seen this exact same branded sprayer elsewhere for 12.99 plus P&P, so when I saw this for just 7.99 and free next day P&P (with my Prime) I snapped it up.

The build quality is very good, with robust and reassuringly sturdy feeling parts. The nylon carry-strap seemed a bit pointless and cluttered the job up, so I removed it and chucked it back in the box…. The pump handle locks down securely and makes an excellent carry handle and is perfect for the 5L container.

The wand/lance is solidly built and easily attached, and produces an adjustable discharge ranging from a fine mist, through to a squirty spray…. The length of the wand may be an issue for some who want to spray the floor from close range without stooping (to kill weeds between paving slabs or gravel etc), but for greenhouse, growroom or potting shed purposes it is perfect for getting between plants and under foliage etc.

The pump action is solid and no leaks were detected…. even after leaving the job half done overnight (and forgetting to manually discharge the pressure) it still hadn’t discharged through slow air-leaks by the next afternoon…. The recommended maximum 25 pumps, on average, will see you through up to three or so litres of the five litre capacity, before you have to top up the air pressure. There is also a handy little spring mounted manual pressure release valve to get rid of excess air pressure for when the job’s done or you need to open the lid etc.

Over all, a fantastic quality mid-range brand name sprayer at a low end price. I have no problems recommending it and giving it 5 stars.

Works well with no leaks. Spray adjustment is relatively coarse but can be adjusted between a fine spray and a jet. With the wand it is easy to spray the underside of leaves (as all bug and fungal sprays say is necessary). The strap is just a loop to sling over one shoulder but allows me to climb a ladder to spray a climbing rose attached to the front of the house. For most spraying the container can be stood on the ground.

Unlike many 5 ltr. sprayers which say it should not be filled beyond 3 ltrs. the maximum mark on the Spear & Jackson is just above the 5 ltr. capacity graduation.

An excellent product which hopefully will last for many years.
