Tough, light and well insulated
Using it for baby food. It’s touch, reasonably light and holds a fair bit – enough for twins. Holds heat well for a good while as to be expected from Thermos.
An Excellent Flask
This is a great little flask for soup. I could have done with a slightly larger one, but this gives a reasonable portion and keeps it hot for plenty of time – at least six hours. The little spoon, which comes with it is useful.

Practical & Sturdy, good size
Sleek simple design, good size for a single portion. Wide opening makes it easy to pour in, tipout or just eating straight from it.
Only gripe is that as it’s quite squat and with a glossy finish, it can be hard to grip if you don’t have big hands. A handle or some sort of indentation to enable it to be more easily gripped would be useful

Bought for my daughter who is a midwife. She uses it most days. She says it keeps her soup or strew hot for hours. She never knows when she can take her lunch break but she says she always has something hot to eat. It has its own spoon in the lid. It’s also easy to clean and it does not leak. Great buy

No more sandwiches or manky microwaves
I love my Thermos food flask. I get bored of taking sandwiches to work and I won’t use the microwave, the less said about that the better! So the flask is perfect. It holds a lot more than you would think. I put boiling water in 10 minutes before use, slightly over heat the food I’m using and whack it in. I leave it in the staff room at work which is usually colder than an igloo, 5-6 hours later, it’s just the right temperature.
Do try your best not to drop. I dropped mine twice. The first time I managed to cushion the fall my sticking my foot out before it hit the floor resulting in a big lump on my foot, the second time it hit the hard floor and the vacuum must have been broken as it would only keep food luke warm after that. I replaced the flask immediately and try really hard not to drop it now.

My daughter is in year 5 and she wanted bigger flask for her pack lunches. We had same brand but smaller 275ml and were very happy. Also happy with Thermos 470ml product, it came with own spoon, looks great and is definitely larger, but my daughter mentioned that food was warmer in smaller flask. That’s the reason I am giving 4 out of 5 starts

Bored with Sandwiches for lunch ??? Then get this flask.l It seriously does keep food steaming hot till lunchtime. Bought one for my kids packed lunch……..and he now has hot food everyday.
Warm the flask with boiling water from the kettle, for about 3 mins, before putting your food in. Our flasks go into lunch boxes to ………the kids say their food is still almost too hot to eat at lunchtime. They love them. Great for Pastas, soups, beans, rice…..pretty much anything you want hot. A must to eliminate the boredom of the sandwich.
Piping hot soup 5 hours later!
Bought this to take soup to work as I only get 30 minutes for lunch and was regularly spending 10 minutes of that waiting for and using the microwave! To get the best results I fill my flask with boiling water before I go to bed and then when I get up I microwave my soup until very hot (about 2-3 minutes) I then empty out the water (which is usually still very warm 12 hours later) and pour in the soup. It is usually in the flask 5-6 hours before I eat it but it is still too hot to eat with blowing it! I have been using this for a year now it has never leaked and is still keeping my food piping hot! You could also use it for other tinned foods. I thoroughly recommend this flask!

Good Food flask but superheat your food to get 6hrs
An ideal size for things like lunch time soup / pasta etc in terms of portion size, I have rated 4 star for two reasons.
1) you have to almost super heat the food to ensure that it is hot 6 hours later
2) the spoon, certainly in terms of eating soup, is not deep enough
Other than these two issues the plus sides thus far

Very retro looking – this is a constant companion on every trip to work. It keeps things hot or cold & comes with a fantastic sturdy foldable metal spoon that fits in the lid.
If I had a complaint I’d say it’s between two portion sizes – a little too much for one – and a little too small for two.

Not the biggest flask but it stores hot food for ages perfect for my partner to take to work so he can have hot food on break. It’s worth it definitely interested in buying a bigger size too now.
I have bought 4 of these now and overall I am pleased with this food flask. It makes our lives easier, enabling me to be sure the kids have had something warm to eat when they are out and about. It allows the kids to have hot soup at school on a cold day. It means my husband can have soup or noodles if he is working late. It is brilliant. However, it has a flaw. Soon after purchasing the outer silver lid has separated from the black inner lid. I have only ever washed the lids by hand but the glue came unstuck on two of my flasks. I have only just bought the other two flasks so time will tell. The reason I’m writing this review is not simply to moan but to warn other people. Whilst washing the lids I have now cut my fingers a few times on the outer silver section of the lid (that has separated from the inner black lid). The metal edge is very sharp. I think it’s worth mentioning as I see I’m not the only person with faulty lids. It’s a shame as it’s a brilliant food flask aside from this flaw.
Hot or cold will last for hours
What an incredible product, brought to take soup to work. I usually warm soup in the morning say 7am and pour into the container until lunch time. Soup without fails is always piping hot and the spoon is a fantastic edition, although it does clank around if eating straight from the container. I have also used for ice which has kept the cubes without melting for more then 4 hours.

Since purchasing mine some months ago I have used it every day, so it is totally worth every penny and has saved myself money from buying hot food whilst travelling between jobs too (which is very handy for myself as someone who is always trying to save money). As long as you remember to heat the food up in the morning, or whenever it is you leave you’ll be enjoying warm food whenever and wherever. I have even taken it for long walks in countryside and bicycle rides too!
My only slight negative would be as a big eater is that I could just fit that bit more inside the flask. Still 5/5 from me!
Odd size?
It suggests it’s 470ml, but it’s 500ml (to the lid). It’s a big too large for a normal tin of soup and tool small for a 500ml. It keeps soup hot for about 4-5 hours. No leaks as yet and easy to clean. The rubber seal of the cap is a pain as it sometimes comes off when it’s cleaned. Still frequently using as a quite happy.

The product does exactly what it is meant to do. It keeps hot fluids hot for the advertised number of hours and cold drinks cool. The thermos looks good, is substantially and well made, and seals tight without leaks.
Very good value for money
My son works outside – so this has been put through it over the last three weeks. He has taken pasta several times in this flask. The food remains hot and it holds a substantial amount. Would highly recommend.
Perfect for pasta
I have been looking for a thermos for my pasta and after buying several cheaper makes that did not keep the food hot this one is just right. the food does cool off after a couple of hours but it is still a nice temperature to eat. I put hot food in at 7.30 and it is still warm at 13.30.
Great for packed lunch
Absolutely love this thermos. Use it for my daughter’s lunch for preschool as they do packed lunch. Holds temperature well and it is a right size for a 3 year old’s lunch portion. It comes with it’s own spoon in the lid that you open and is very easy to clean. I love the colours they come in and am soon planning to order another one.

Really like using this flask. Really good for keeping food warm…I mean REALLY good. I can fill it up with boiling liquid at 8am and it’s still roasting hot at 2pm. The amount of times I’ve burnt my toungue is incredible…

Does exactly what it's supposed to!
Used it for a few weeks now. No issues with this product, use for work, kept my food warm for minimum 4hrs – not tested beyond that. I would recommend it without hesitation.

I dont like packing lunch because of the inconvenience of heating up or putting it on the fridge to avoid spoilage. One time, I packed my lunch using the thermos but then the team decided to go out for lunch. So I did not touch my packed lunch until I got home. I left my lunch in my bag (no fridge whatsoever). Surprise surprise, my food is still warm and fresh after almost 8 hours sitting in my bag. Very good product, thumbs up!!!

This is the business. It takes a standard tin of soup perfectly. I generally fill it with my soup at about 7am and eat lunch at between noon and 1pm and it’s always as hot as when I first put it in.
This is the 4th food flask I’ve tried. I went cheap with the others and it showed. Invest in this Thermos, it’s awesome.
Keeps food really hot!
This looks really small but you can fit a full bowl of soup in this. I would fill this with hot soup at 5.30 am and it is still incredibly hot at 1.30pm. Spoon doesnt hold too much at a time but I guess that encourages you to eat slower? Either way, its great. I have bought one for my boyfriend and some of my colleagues have since bought one too
I bought this for my daughter (age 10) for school dinners, I heat up the thermos and food around 8am, she has lunch at 12 and says food is between warm and hot, so very good temperature to eat food. I’ve heated up stuff like; mac n cheese, pasta bake, rice and curry, ravioli, soup, which all work. I’ve made instant noodles to put into it but the heat turned it mushy.
Only bad thing is, I cannot turn the lid fully as the pressure locks the lid and my daughter cannot open it, so I am mindful to put the lid on but not tight, (quite loose). Because of this I’ve put 4 stars, I could live without the added spoon and rather have a pressure release, please design this for the future (other brands have this function).
I also have another food flask much cheaper than the thermos and the cheaper one is rubbish at keeping the food almost warm by 12pm, so we only use the thermos food flask. I do highly recommend, portion size is good too.

The worst to clean. If you have Mack and cheese in it you can smell it after you wash it. It requires 2 thorough washes and leave the lid of after. I’ve had it for years and everything is warm after and had never leaked on me

excellent product. i put boiling water in this flask and left it for 30 mins, so it had to time to clean and sterile and preheat.. then put my hot casseroles/soups/ bolognaise ect in, and it was steaming hot approx 8.5 hours later, after id eaten but not eaten it all another two hours later it was still steaming hot, so i finished the dish.

Handy Thermos Flask
Lovely little flask. Pretty good at keeping food hot hot of you warm the flask with hot water before adding piping hot food. If you don’t fill it to the top it cools faster than I am happy with. Handy size for a decent portion of soup for on the go. Handy top and spoon too. Also keeps drinks cool with an ice cube.
Diabetics on insulin, this is perfect for travel with vials of insulin.

Ideal for kids on the go
Tend to put either soup or pasta in the Thermos and it keeps the food nice and warm. Mainly used when we’re traveling to football training and home or if at tournaments. Allows him to eat when he’s hungry and not have to wait an hour or so until we get home.

Great item I use it for food not liquid : rice , chicken ect as my little one hates school dinners he has no problem eating his food from it and he says it’s hot until lunch and warm after school. I just pour hot water in it and let it say for a while before putting the food in. It really gave me peace of mind knowing my son is eating a warm meal

I will be honest, I am not as amazed by this as I am by the thermos drink flask. I bought this to replace another branded food flask which wasn’t keeping food warm for me and I have found that this one isn’t actually much better. Looks great though and I can’t be bothered with the hassle of returning.

Brilliant little thing!!
Probably one of the best investments of the year! Started a new job where they don’t have microwave so needed something for when I have leftovers! Definitely worth investing if you are looking for something to keep your food warm.
For me it passed the test when I put hot food in the thermos and accidentally put it in the fridge over night. When I got it out in the morning though it was still warm! That’s the moment I knew I can trust it!

Quite expensive, but very well worth the money, excellent at keeping food hot or cold, works well, love neat spoon in lid. A joy to look at in fun colours and easy to use. Best of its kind, i have tried several other brands to save money, false economy as have been sadly lacking. I have several Thermos products and find these are always the top of the range. Excellent and suitable for adults and children alike. Keeps food really hot for several hours e.g. soups and stews. Wide container easy to clean so suitable for variety of hot foods. Highly recommend.
This has been a fantastic product for us. My husband takes his lunch to work and the queue for the microwave is horrendous. So with this we put hot food inside and it stays warm for 4 hours, lunchtime. He is able to eat his food warm and its not leaked in any way. Whats great is the folding spoon that sits neatly inside. Its been going strong for 3 years now!
Keeps soup piping hot until lunchtime
I used this to put my soup in before work as we do not have a microwave. When I come round to eating it at least 6 hours later, the soup is still piping hot (I still have to blow it to cool it down). The spoon is handy too. Cleaning it is easy and holds a very good portion size.

I love this flask! I warm it up first by pouring hot water into it. Empty the water then add my hot food at 8am. My food is still hot when my lunchbreak starts at 1pm. It holds much more than you realise – if you fill it then empty the contents onto a plate you’ll find that the plate is full. My only (minor) gripe is that, depending on the direction you’re moving the fork, it sometimes folds back up so if you usually hold it in your left hand, this could be annoying.
Read instructions, do research on how long food can be in the thermos. To avoid food poisoning!
This thermos is ideal for a mini hot lunch. Keeping liquids and mini meals at a required temperature for a certain duration. Tip: Pour boiling water into the flask whilst letting your food cool in the same duration for 5 mins. Do not place piping hot food in the thermos as it will be difficult open the flask, as the heat will cause a vacuum suction causing the lid to get stuck! Give it 5mins then add your food. After a minimum 3-4 hours you can eat your hot meal for lunch at work or even the occasional kids school dinner.

Life saver on cold days at work. If you remember to preheat the flask before putting your streaming hot food in it will stay hot for at least 7 hours. really easy to clean.

Kids often have packed lunches at school so being able to give them at hot ‘meal’ is great in winter and adds to the variety. Think baked beans and sausages with hash brown, pasta, ravioli, soup etc.

A lot smaller than i realised
I should have really checked the size of this as it came a lot smaller than I anticipated, I can fit 2 very small sweet potatoes and a chicken breast. But I should have read the description more thoroughly.
The build quality is amazing, very sturdy. I can’t see this breaking any time soon. The food stays piping hot for many hours before cooling down, I would make food hot at around 10 am and still struggle to eat food without blowing it at 2pm.
The foldable spoon is a chore to eat with, it fold in on itself very easily, but you kind of get used to it after a while (but I wouldn’t recommend for left handed people).
I like it, I would recommend it as it fits neatly in a bag and it’s well made. Just wish it was slightly bigger.

I work in an organisation with no microwave so needed a reliable soup flask. This flask is perfect. It is easy to fill, does not leak and reasonably easy to clean. It comes with a metal travel spoon which I do not use as it makes a noise that goes right through me when it touches the bottom! Other than that, best purchase I have ever made.
Perfect for lunchtime soups

Perfect little pot for carrying my baby food out and about. As
The portion is so small the heat only remains for a few hours but I feel this is fair and adequate. I imagine an adult sized portion lasts all day.
Great for day trips
We love the outdoors and these flasks (we have three) have been just brilliant. We have owned ours now for two years and still working and looking as good as new. They are compact, but hold enough for one person. We like to take soups in them or sometimes a rice pilau. they have not leaked, and keep the food warm for several hours. The wide mouth makes it very easy to hand wash – wouldn’t recommend putting these in a dishwasher as I suspect the colour will begin to fade. Also, be careful while washing as the the rubber seal, which is translucent, comes off quite easily from the lid.
We rarely use the lid as a bowl as the mouth is wide enough so you can eat directly from the flask with a spoon. The spoon itself is a little finikety to use, but conveniently folds up and clips onto the lid.

Excellent product. Wasn’t sure if I should have got bigger size but this was perfect. I try to manage my portion size and this easily fitted a whole tin of soup (it very nearly fitted a whole Covent Garden 600g soup in). Warmed it up with boiling water and it kept my soup piping hot for 4.5 hours, and I’m convinced another 4-6 hours it would have still been hot.

Good for certain foods
Great flask although heat wise I’m not sure its much better than others. I bring porridge in it some days and eat apprpx 2.5hrs later and its just hot enough to enjoy. Soup keeps longer, it’s approx 6.5hrs afterwards that I eat it and its still hot enough but just about for my liking.
The Thermos Stainless King Food Flask arrived quickly and I am very pleased with my purchase. Now I can keep my own home cooked meals warm, saving zillions on those tasteless supermarket sandwiches. There is plenty of space inside and the provided spoon makes it a well thought product. Considering that it comes with a fifty years warranty (50 yrs!) I would say I have found a permanent solution to the office lunches.
Compact and well made.
This keeps food warm and gives decent portions. The foldable spoon is ideal, however is not ideal for left handlers as it collapses down when pressure is applied by a left hander! I’ve got two of these now and having tried a few I like this one. The small cup/bowl is a useful feature for soup.
Not made for lefties!
This is a great little flask that works well for food. I have only one issue with it, the spoon doesn’t work for left handed people! The part that locks the spoon in place is on the wrong side so the spoon folds up as soon as you put any pressure on it.
Best soup flask money can buy
I bought this for my wife. I’ve had mine for over 2 years and use it daily and its still going strong. Leave to soak for a couple of hours ever few days with a weak bleach solution inside and its clean and as shiny as new. I’ve tried a number of flasks over the years for my soup and nothing can touch Thermos King. Just get one and don’t bother shopping around for ones that will leak or go cold quickly or break.

I have the 470ml version of this. Holds a perfect amount of soup for a good meal / tea for a couple of people.
I have made tea at 7am in the morning and drank it piping hot at 1pm in the afternoon.
Its a good size to fit in a bag and carry.
The only downside is the spoon that comes on the top of the inside lid does tend to come off a little too easily. This is really not a big deal I would still absolutely get another.

Second of these that I have bought. Keeps my porridge piping hot but make sure the flasks are filled with boiling water before putting in food. I have tried taking soup to work for lunch, by 12:30 the temperature is fine but not hot.

bought this after doing some research on best ones… great product.. so easy to clean with handy fold up spoon whic is strong in lid.. i have two now as partner had her eyes on mine… keeps food hot or cold for lengh it says.. i find it keeps things colder for longer whan it says… no leaking at all… will only replace with this one as needed. but think this will last for ages… ive dropped it too!!
Very useful
Keeps stuff hot for a reasonably long time, and the foldaway spoon is useful. I like the squat shape which means it can fit into an overcoat pocket if you don’t want to lug a rucksack. As other reviewers say, heat it with boiling water before adding the food or drink. I’d recommend it.

I bought this to have soup rather than eating pie’s everyday at work.
Well what can I say?,only that it works you can put soup In it or even beans and sausages and they stay warm but if you cram a pie through its lustrous stainless steel gaping neck neither will the pie stay warm or will it come back out just staying there for perpetuaty so in my mind win win!
Best lunch purchase eve
This is an excellent buy if your fed up of bland sandwiches or cold lunches.
I brought this two weeks ago and have been using it every day since. On the first day I done as it says, heated it up for 5 mins with boiling water and then added in my warmed up soup, 6 hours later when I went to eat it it was as hot as if it it just come out of the pan and I had to leave it open to cool down for a bit.
After that I skipped the pre heating because with a soup if you only need it hot for about 6 hours you don’t really need to pre heat it. Without a pre heat it’s still very hot.
This week iv been pasta and have been pre heating for a few minutes with just hot water from the tap and still works pretty well.
I was initially worried about the size but it’s big in enough for one generous serving of food.
The best lunch item I have ever purchased. Only downer is that the mouth if the thermos is a but narrow, so have to be careful putting food in and makes it a bit tricky to scrub the very bottom of it ….but this is a small price to pay for what you get.
Fantastic purchase
I could not be happier with it. I have bough 3 of these flasks as I am currently on special diet and need to bring my own food everywhere. I use them daily, wash manually. Food is still piping hot after several hours – just don’t forget to pour hot water first to warm them up and then content – if you want to keep it hot. I am eating every 3h and after soup being in the flask for 9h it is still warm. Spoons are of good quality, same with overall built of the flask. I travel with my flasks everywhere and even cycle with one, they have never spilled even if transported upside down or on a side.
Small and amazing
This is brilliant for soup, super easy to wash and love the soon that comes with it, I thought it might be flimsy but as like normal Thermos quality so durable and love that the spoon folds and secures in the lid securely.
My son decided that he wanted to start taking soup in for his lunch at school. Instead of trying to pour and eat soup from the standard tall/skinny flask, I decided to look into the wider, stubbier versions and went with this one. It’s a little more expensive than some of the flasks, but I think the extra couple of pounds seems to be worth it. I’ve not had any leaks, and the vacuum is maintained. My son reports that the soup is still hot after 4+ hours, and it’s his favorite colour. Bonus: it comes with a spoon, so it’s a nice, compact unit. The flask seems to be built well, and lives up to the Thermos brand hype. I’ve read elsewhere that the rubber seal has been an issue. Truth be told, yes, it does come off sometimes while cleaning (by hand), but it goes back on fine, and holds it’s seal. Overall, if you’re looking for a decent flask for eating, rather than drinking, this hits the mark.

Bought this for my son to take to school. Small enough that fits in his lunch box. Big enough that he is satisfied if he eats everything. Food is still warm at lunch hour. The spoon works.

It looks great and kept my soup hot until lunchtime. You need to tip the soup into the lid to eat it if like me you don’t like the scrape of metal on metal. One star off because the spoon collapses when you scrape around – I think it’s only for right-handed people – if you scrape the other direction it doesn’t collapse.

A great flask
I can’t fault this flask. I use it to take soup to work and it keeps it roasting for over 6 hours! I fill the flask with boiling water in the morning and leave it in for 30 mins to preheat before draining and adding the soup(which I also heat to close to boiling point) 6 hours later it’s still roasting! The spoon is also fantastic. I would highly recommend.
