Seems to work
Seems to help calm my rescue. There are work men next door and noisy vans driving past so she’s been very agitated and badly today. I put the shirt on and she’s calmed down and finally able to have a nap. I got a small for my Jack Chi but I think it’s too big so might get an xs

I bought one of these years ago from a pet shop randomly for my Staffy who has serious separation anxiety and obsessive tail chasing issues.
I used it on him and it defo helped so much that I didn’t need to use it and forgot I had one!
But I travel with my dogs (I now have 4, a shih tzu, Staffy, bullmastiff and blue French bulldog). which means long days in the car and over night on the ferry in kennels for them.
My Shih Tzu is very highly strung and even though the vets would give him tablets for travel he would still get so worked up he’d chew the kennel till he would bleed his gums! We even tried flying them instead and same outcome.
It was either stop travelling with them (really not an option as life dictates travel) or find a new solution.
Then I remembered this coat!! Couldn’t find them anywhere online in Ireland but thankfully Amazon came to the rescue!!
Ordered and arrived before we were due to travel and I used them on the way over and back on the ferry and guess what……..No bleeding gums and not highly stressed dogs!!!
And no highly stressed Human!! As I dreaded the kennels on the ferry as I never knew how they’d be when I’d check on them and the upset of having to put them back in during the journey knowing they were hurting themselves also.
I used this over and thought maybe it’s just a fluke…….Then came back (summertime and was not going to put it on as thought it would be too warm for them, but saw a vet in the US recommending them for the 4th of July so knew wouldn’t be too warm!), and again No upset or hurt dogs.
Chilled and happy. Of course they were still happy to get off the ferry and out of the kennels. But they were chilled and not bleeding!!
Really Highly recommend and will be a regular in our routine from now on.
I put them on and off the dogs a couple of days before travel for them to get used to wearing them and get the smell of “home” etc.

Thought I would try this for my terrier, she is terrified of thunder storms, fireworks and loud noises and can be physically sick. A soon as I thought the storm was coming over I put this on and can say that within 20 mins she was relaxed lying on the carpet, she wasn’t even trying to listen which she normally does. My adorable westie, Tom will be 16 in October and has dementia where he circles a lot before he lays/falls down. It can be exhausting for him. As soon as I put the Thundershirt on him, he calmed down and went straight to sleep. Highly recommend this product. Photos are of the small shirt. I wanted to show how much material is left if you want to make it looser.

Just purchased this as my puppy out grew the xs one . An excellent purchase for using in stressful situations e.g. car travel sleeping on own problems in new puppies. Last one worked almost instantly for sleep separation . No longer required for night sleeping but bought this next size anyway for car travel , vet visits and probably fireworks night. The sizing chart is really accurate for fitting. One happy puppy.
This works. My border collie is terrified of thunder, fireworks and very heavy rain and used to shake on the sofa in fear. This has hugely lessened since wearing her thunder shirt. It is nice soft, good quality material. Fits well and can be adjusted for snugness with a wide velcroed strap. Suggest you try on dog and work out how it fits before you actually have a thunder crisis….it takes a little while to work out but easy when you know how! Putting on a shaking dog who just wanted to lie down was not easy first time, believe me! It settles her very well now, does not cure the fear but lessens the symptoms extremely well. Great product.
Must have for stressed dogs
I have ordered 2 more, thundershirt has proved invaluable with our 18 month old very anxious and stressed american bulldog rescue dog. He has been with us 8 weeks and has some very distressing symptoms relating to his high stress levels, including spinning excessively and pulling his fur from his tail as he does it. He was consistently patrolling the house and jumping at every sound outside. Day one of wearing his thundershirt and he slept, all day, a few days later and he is already much more settled, no more patrols – a much more relaxed and sleepy dog. We need more to make sure we always have a clean, dry thundershirt to keep him feeling safe and happy!
My dog, a rescue, is pretty good in most respects, particularly off the lead, but when he’s on the lead he gets anxious when he sees other dogs, people in high vis jackets and cyclists and starts to scream (has to be heard to be believed) so someone suggested a Thundershirt. He is a lot better since starting to wear it. He still screams at cyclists but now just gives a few woofs at other triggers. He doesn’t wear it all the time and there is a marked improvement even when he’s not wearing it so I certain my feel it has helped even though the problem isn’t fully cured.
Didn’t think this would work but my cocker spaniel has been so much calmer since wearing it. She had seperate on anxiety and now she’s very relaxed. Don’t know how it works but it does! Was delivered quickly too

My German Shepherd hates fireworks and is nervous of lots of different every day things, Over the last two years we have tried everything to help him, so was very pleasantly surprised when we put his new shirt on and saw an immediate difference in him, especially when faced with the dreaded bin bag, usually he would walk pass it with his tail between his legs but the thunder shirt definitely gave him confidence so fingers crossed it will make the New Years eve fire works a lot more comfortable for him

Small fitting but amazing produc
Honestly didn’t know what to expect with this but as I have a nervous boarder collie and we were close to bonfire night I thought it was worth a try. Absolute god send! I use it all the time now when she gets twitch and it really calms her down. She loves it and given she has never worn any kind of jacket before I wasnt sure if she would freak out. Ordering another for my other dog! However be careful – the large fits my small boarder collie, you might struggle to get one large enough for an actual large sized dog!

Got this for my Shihtzu for fireworks. It was brilliant, calmed down, stopped shaking & panting & fell into a deep sleep on my lap. It was like Thundershirt had given him permission to be okay.
I really wasn’t expecting much as my dog is petrified of fireworks so I thought I would give it a go and to my shock she was a lot more relaxed. She was still a little bit nervous but not nearly as bad as last year. I would highly recommend you give this a go. Thankyou
edited; just bought another one for another dog. Not as good as they used to be. Thinner material which doesn’t hold it’s shape. Shorter in the back and longer around the middle so don’t fit nearly as well.
fabulous product but unlikely to solve serious anxiety issues as a stand alone solution. A very useful tool alongside a good rehabilitation and remedial training program, would definitely recommend this product but please get professional help with your dog for more serious issues.
Good buy
Excellent. The dogs didn’t mind wearing it and in fact they wanted to keep them on. It stopped them doing their anxiety shake where they can work themselves up. Nice soft material. A good buy and am sure will last for years. Hope to use it on travels also to see if it helps calm them.

Amazing how something so simple works so well
At last -something that works for my dog (a miniature schnauzer). He’s 3yrs old suffers with permanent anxiety. We don’t know why, but he had started to chew at his paws and hind legs, scratch his flanks and fuss with his tail. The vet had tried everything and I had bought every over the counter ‘medicine’ like Xylene, but nothing worked.
Then someone suggested a thunder shirt. I’d always thought that the concept was a bit strange, but by now I would try anything; he was waking me every night with his paw chewing etc and I felt so sorry for him.
From the moment I put it on him, it has WORKED! He’s snoozing on the couch next to me now, whereas before he would have been fussing, scratching, unable to settle.
He wears it all the time, except when we go out for his daily walks, and he is a different dog. And I get to sleep through the night!
I have bought a second shirt so that one is always available. It may not work for your dog, but for us it was nothing short of a miracle cure.
In the words of Victor Meldrew “I don’t believe it” Last night the wind was howling at gale force and my dog Dash who is nervous started to hide and shake and pant like he does when there’s fireworks going off on bonefire night I had heard about these thundershirts but didn’t believe the reviews well how wrong was I, within minutes Dash had stopped shaking and went to sleep …….unbelievable.
If you have a nervous dog just buy one they do work if it doesn’t you can just get your money back
It has been an amazing purchase for my dog and well worth the money spent, whilst it hasn’t completely eradicated the behaviour it has reduced it massively and I hope to see continued improvement as we use it more – more importantly my dog is much less stressed.
My dog had no issue wearing it as it’s just the same as an outdoor coat. It’s easily adjustable and we were very pleased with the fit, as my dog is a cross between a Labrador and a staffy she sometimes has trouble getting ‘stuff’ to fit!

We have a 9 year old terrier cross who has been anxious from a young puppy and has definitely become more so over the years. With the first sound of thunder or fireworks she sits on the nearest lap and literally shakes like a leaf. Poor Maizy!
We bought the Thunder Shirt with low expectations to be honest because she hasn’t responded noticeably to other calming in the treatments in the past. But she definitely calms down straight away with it on! The velcro wrap across the back somehow reassures her.
I even put it on her when a friend arrived who she finds frightening (for no particular reason) and she stopped hiding behind me and seeking corners in the kitchen. We’re very pleased with it – and I suspect Maizy is too!!
had to get large instead of xlarge for my Labrador, but he seems to like wearing it and is a lot less barky than usual, also it looks good and is quite slimming, he is the envy of the other dogs.
Not totally convinced about this coat but do use it when the dog starts to get anxious in fireworks season. It could be our presence in the same room but she does appear more relaxed. However sudden noises like moving the laundry basket position still have her scuttling out of the room in fear.
I will keep trying and see whether things improve.
I wanted to use this to calm my dog in the car where he is very anxious, he is better now though i’m not sure if it is the shirt or a combination of other things I have tried. Either way it is a nice quality shirt and easily washed so I will continue to use it for long car journeys.
bought this for our ex-racer greyhound and he is very shy around strangers, we don’t know his background and found him very timid with loud noises as well. it does seem to help him, though if its particularly loud with fireworks across the street for example, he still shakes and tries to hide. but for visitors in the house he seems to be a bit calmer with it.
Monty isn’t a nervous dog but he does have a bit of an issue with fireworks and at times thunderstorms.
He doesn’t hide, shake or get frightened. He barks. A lot. Shouting at whatever it is that’s making the noise he doesn’t like.
Then he gets all panty and miffed taking ages to calm down again.
Bought the thundershirt to try as he is a cuddle bunny bless him.
Last night was the ultimate test. New year fireworks and they didn’t hold back on the bangs.
Thundershirt was on him since 9pm ready and when they all started at midnight, yes he barked. Of course he would but the difference? He was calm again within an hour and not the normal 3-4 hours.
So yes, I would say this does help. Helped me get to sleep as well knowing he was calmer so soon.

I have a very anxious dog and have bought all sorts of ‘gimmicky items in the past ‘, however I am very pleased with this thundershirt. It has not ‘cured ‘ my dog’s nervousness completely , however it has certainly aided in calming her at times of stress (firework night, thunder). She appears less stressed and manages eventually to settle with this coat placed around her. Obviously not a cure but certainly a great help. If you have a stressed pet you will know how upsetting it is to see them so unhappy, trying to climb up and potentially harm themselves so this was worth every penny!
This is an excellent product! My dog (Jack Russell) doesn’t not like being left alone at all, however this coat helps dramatically to calm her down, and reduce her anxiety. She is loads more comfortable when wearing this coat to be left alone, and even likes wearing it in the house even if somebody is with her.
We bought this for our dog who is terrified of thunder and fireworks. It was suggested to us by someone who runs a boarding kennel so I was happy to give it a try. The company were very helpful with sizing as our dog was borderline between the small and medium. They advised in that instance always better to size up rather than down. It arrived in time for bonfire night and fitted perfectly. I actually found it easier to put it on if I did the chest Velcro first then the tummy Velcro. It is nicely made of soft comfortable fabric and I can honestly say when we put it on, which was often, as bonfire night seemed to last for about 3 weeks! she soon settled and slept for the night with it on. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anybody who has a dog suffering from any sort of anxiety caused anything like this.
My rescue is always worried when he’s near other dogs, especially if they are bigger or playing excitedly. I’m hoping this shirt will make him feel more secure. Early days yet but when I picked it up this morning he wagged his tail like mad so that’s a good sign. The shirt is very well made, soft and warm and fits perfectly. His size was exactly the highest measurement for medium and the lowest for large so I got the medium thinking that it would stretch if necessary and be a good fit. It actually fits very well and is easy to get on him. Very pleased with it so far – just have to see how the boy gets on.

Was a bit sceptical about this product but very glad I bought it for our 7 year old beagle Harry as soon as the fireworks started up with us I put on his thunder shirt, he seemed calmer didn’t appear to be scared, and didn’t try to hide under the kitchen table,i would like to thank you from Harry and family for a great product .
This really does work. We got it for our small cross breed blind dog. She is a rescue dog and sometimes gets a bit flustered when strange people arrive or something different happens. The first time we used it on her she carried on being unsettled for about 5 minutes and then curled up and went to sleep. We use it for her now whenever she is phased by something strange and it certainly helps her to feel calm and she will settle and sleep.

Remarkable. For six years we tried everything to keep Woody our Jack Russell calm during firework season, he was like the Tasmanian devil bombing around the house getting very distressed. Put the Thundershirt on and he was a changed dog. He sat next to me just slept all the way through. We seem to have firework displays every week-end in Blackpool, so even if you think the shirt is a little pricey, its well worth it, and its not even bonfire night yet.
A little tip. Put the shirt on your dog a few times, for a short period of time before any distress happens so they don’t connect the shirt to anything nasty about to happen. A great product, highly recommended

Bought this on recommendation from behaviorist to help a grieving dog who has anxiety issues. It took about a week for him to settle in it with bribery! but now he loves it and I have two – one on, one washing. I honestly say it worked for him. Word of advice though. Make sure it’s a comfortable fit and the velcro is all covered as it is a bit sharp on the edges.
Gave the above review based on first coat I bought. New one has improved velcro. HOWEVER – the material the coat is made from is thin and tore first time he wore it and behaved like a dog. No excessive activity, just playing ball….not impressed
Took a couple of times for my dogs to get used to it but after about 4 uses I’m really starting to notice a positive difference! Took them in the car the other day with the thundershirt on and was amazed by how relaxed my dogs were. One of them really struggles with travelling & tends to have a complete meltdown & he is often sick as well but with this he seemed ok & more importantly there was no sick!! It’s early days but so far I’m very happy.

Amazing! My Rudy is so calm with this on! I bought it to help with his separation anxiety, it hasn’t helped. But, with his general anxiety issues this has been so good! He doesn’t particularly like it he rolls around the floor and rubs himself along walls, doors, whatever he can find to try and get it off but he eventually just gives up and goes to sleep! Even with visitors! I love his thundershirt! I can’t recommend it enough!
Have a 3 year old collie cross who suffers from anxiety and can be noise sensitive. We bought this thundershirt having tried various calming tablets that did nothing for her. She didn’t object to having on and it seemed comfortable on her bearing in mind it needs to be a snug fit. It does not work miracles and will not change your dog’s personality but we found that our dog would settle more quickly when wearing it and would snuggle up to us on the sofa instead of sitting and listening to every noise around the house. She is definitely a bit more relaxed whilst wearing it. Definitely worth a try if your dog is of a nervous disposition.
Bought as training aid to help JRT remain focussed
Bought as training aid rather than for an anxiety problem. Recommended by trainer to help my JRT to focus on training. Small size was too big for 6kg JRT. Returned it and bought XS. JRT very happy to wear it, but the first time I put it on him, he was so ‘chilled out’ he looked as though he had been sedated. He quickly became accustomed to it. It is early days, but it does seem to have a calming effect.
Love this thing. My staffy gets nervous when we leave and sometimes acts out but since we got her this she’s calmed dramatically. She’s also very excitable and jumps up a lot, but stops immediately after I put this coat on. She also seems to enjoy wearing it. I’m sure every dog will have a different reaction, but if your dog is anxious about anything I highly recommend trying this out. Just be sure to order on the smaller size. My dog was on the cusp of large size but I got a med after reading other reviews and it’s just small enough (she wears it comfortably as tight as the velcro allows.)

Excellent, arrived very quickly. Cannot believe the difference it has made to my Jack Russell/Chihuahua. I have always said that she was hyper, after one session with the shirt, she appeard calm and relaxed. Now have to see how she travels in the car, which is normally a nightmare.
A good nights sleep
I bought this vest to get my little dog from being nervous from stormy nights although lately she seems to be frightened of various things. I have been putting it on randomly to get her used to it and although I havent had it long I do believe that she is becoming less afraid and stressed. She stopped entering the kitchen because of strange sounds but now has started to come in and no longer quivers at the door. We have had a lots of bad weather lately and she hasnt been as bad but not completely as ease but I think she will get better the longer we use the vest. We had a lot of sleepless nights, I believe that they are coming to an end. The vest seems to be working for us. Thank you thundershirt !!!

Absolutely brilliant product. I have 4 dogs and my 12 year old has been very anxious for the past 6 months culminating in abject terror since the fireworks this November that went on for a week. He was no longer enjoying life. This arrived this morning and within 5 minutes of wearing it he was wagging his tail and lying in front of the fire on his side which he hasn’t done for months. I was able to drop things on the floor near him without him getting up and leaving the room. His ears just twitched and he just carried on lying there. I can highly recommend.

I have a staffie mixed american bull, who is petrified of fireworks/thunder – to the point her teeth chatter and she continuously barks for 6 hours solid. Please be aware that this coat does not stop the anxiety, however it brings her down quickly and allows her to feel reassured. Have tried everything with her to no avail, however this thundershirt is amazing. It is made out of tshirt material and fits beautifully. She looks like a very smart lady now on her walks 🙂
It has made a difference
I have an 8 year old dog who is so terrified of fireworks that every year for a week around 5th November we go away to the middle of nowhere so he doesn’t have to suffer. I have tried everything, the vet has even prescribed him valium for dogs! Nothing works. Shakes, foams at the mouth, wont move – its pitiful. This was my last hope after someone recommended I try one. OK so the worst of the fireworks are over but there are still some going off – enough to scare him. We have used the thunder shirt and I have to say he does appear a little calmer. Its enough for him to hide away at the back of the sofa, before he wouldn’t move. I can only say it appears to have helped so I would recommend you try it.
I will admit to being highly sceptical about this but had run out of options – the vet gave me happy tablets – which I don’t really want to use given how they make Molly so dopey. Molly is a rescue dog with serious noise issues – bangs, fireworks etc. She shakes, pants, sweats etc. Absolutely terrified. But this worked – at least it mainly worked. No sweating and panting. Still shaking but cuddled up in the corner of the sofa and stayed there. I have used all week for the fireworks and the improvement is really noticeable. It has also helped reduce her stress when travelling. Molly is about 8 so I thought the idea of swaddling her wouldn’t work and I would be sending back or giving a one star rating…..very happy to say I am impressed. –

Delivered within estimated time, well packaged. Sizes on box are different to what is shown on Amazon however so had to send back the medium size and re ordered a large. I have large build Staffordshire bull terriers.
Once on can definitely notice a difference in dogs temperament, a lot calmer. Purchased to help with fireworks as both my dogs tremble with fear and they have helped keep them relaxed. Would recommend for any dogs with fear or anxiety.
Brilliant! I have a frightened staffy that escapes, breaks down doors, chews and goes mad when hearing thunder or fireworks. When it got to sedating her i realised i needed to find other options and this was it! It is NOT a miracle worker, she is still scared and aware she isnt happy but she is so calm when wearing it and will just sit and let it pass. She actually comes to me and wags her tail when i get it out of the cupboard now. I am sure for 2 nights of the year when fireworks are at there worst that this wont be enough and we will have to resort to medication still but at least the rest of the year round this helps. Money well spe
Good item although did not really have much impact on calming our dog for a car journey. However, we were dog sitting a spaniel whi had an allergy to dissolving stitches post surgery. She was distressed for hours and not even piriton helped. Out of desperation put this on and it was like MAGIC. Total calm, peace etc. Good nights sleep took it off next morning an within 3 minutes jerking twitching was back, put this back on and instant problem solved. Ended up keeping it for 3 days but saved on medication etc.
I have just bought this thunder vest and I am very I pressed so far my lab is so nervous she is scared of her own shadow and don’t get me started when it’s fireworks time I got tablets from my vet last yr as she gets in some state but they didn’t really work and also it’s not like it just one night where we live it can go on for about 3 wks , but I have to say she is very calm at the moment fingers crossed it keeps on working
Cant believe that something as simple as this can work. I put it on my collie who is frightened by social situations at agility shows. While you could not wear it at a competition without being disqualified, the transformation within minutes at the first training session when she wore it was remarkable. From a cowering shivering wreck desperate to return to the safety of the car she became a happy enthusiastic dog, ears pricked and tail wagging. I would say that the sizings are wrong. In order to be effective the thundershirt needs to be really really tight, and I had to return my first thundershirt for a smaller size. The shirts are very stretchy so must really hug the dog tight.
It doesnt always work at times of extreme stress but I found this a valuable tool in calming my dog.

Does what it says! Calms my anxious springer 🙂 Like other reviews I’ve read, it must have the same effect as when babies are swaddled – it has really helped to alleviate some of the stresses and anxieties felt by my springer spaniel. I don’t use it all the time, but tend to use it when I’m leaving him for a long period of time, or if he’s going in the car etc. He’s much more relaxed and cuddly with this on! Really easy to put on and adjust to different sizes, and it looks good too. Lots of people have commented how smart he looks in it and asked where I got it from! Brilliant product, just wish I’d got one a lot sooner!

This is great and seems to calm our dog within a few minutes. Bit tricky to fit but once you get the hang of all the bits of velcro and how snug the shirt should be it becomes easier. Looks very smart on and love the colour. Folds up small so can take it with us and put it on our girl if we sit outside a cafe then she just settles down without worrying about noises and passing distractions. Used to be like Marley and Me!!

Well what more can I say?!? He looks so handsome in his Thundershirt! I have a 4(ish) year old Jack Russell who is a rescue and has “issues”.
He does not like any loud noises, bangs or shouting (so the TV gets told off alot), thunder turns him into a quivering wreck and as for fireworks, he tries to wedge himself headfirst into the smallest spaces and has become stuck several times!
So after reading alot of reviews, I decided to give the Thundershirt a go. So after putting it on him and having him prance around (like he does) with a look on his face as if to say “look so pretty I am”! My mum’s husband decides to come down the stairs, usually at this point my crazy dog goes nuts barking runing up and down waiting for him to get the bottom of the stairs. But on this day he litterally goes “woof” once, maks and odd whine, huffs and crashes on his bed.
So far i am impressed, will have to wait for the thunder or fireworks test though.
I didn’t hold out a huge amount of hope for this jacket, but after an awful fireworks ‘week’ in November, we were dreading New Year’s Eve. My dog would charge around the house, frantic, barking and panting, not knowing what to do with herself, from the first ‘bang’ to the last. It was so upsetting for all of us. A well known tablet / spray / diffuser did nothing for her. This ‘coat’ didn’t work a miracle but it did work wonders!! As soon as we put it on her (before the fireworks), she settled, became very ‘docile’, got into her bed and went to sleep. We put it on her on New Year’s Eve and whilst it didn’t stop all of her barking, she was without a doubt, much more relaxed and sleepy. I have no idea how a thin, T shirt type of material can have such an effect, but it helped her a lot. For sizing, I asked a lot of questions on ‘ask an owner’. Their answers were very helpful. My dog is a Cavachon, she weighs 11 kilo and is 56cm around the ribs so I didn’t know whether to order the medium or small. The small is perfect for her, it’s certainly not too small because it’s so stretchy and of course, you can’t have it loose or it won’t do it’s job. I would definitely recommend anyone to try this for their anxious dog.
We have a Staffy..and from the moment I got him I knew he was Nervous! He’s 6 now and I decided I would get him one of thes jackets.
It worked straight away! He normally Stalkes me to throw ball and if I don’t he jumps up and bites arm! But been out today and He did not Bother at all! And didn’t Bother with picking up Sticks! Which he is crazy For usually ! And he don’t like other dogs much Ither usually .but today wearing his jacket he was great even wanted to Greet other Dogs! Not sure How it works! I think I was maybe expecting miracles with this purchase. Our dog hates fireworks and thunder so much that she shakes uncontrollably when she hears them. She even shakes the next night in anticipation of a repeat performance. All she wants to do is go out to the garden and dig a hole or hide in the attic space. These are wonderful and really work well. I already have one each for my two dogs and they are wonderful. They work for thunder storms or fireworks. I ordered this one as I felt the large was too small for my tri coloured collie but this extra large was way too big to be effective so I have not used it. Do you now anyone with a larger dog or do you refund?
I have found the shirt a very good buy , please understand guys that’s it’s not a problem solved answer, but I have totally found my Staffy dog to calm down so very much more & quicker with it on , I’ve recently added the anxiety collar aswell & have found great results , next I will add the plug in diffuser too, this can become pretty pricey BUT WELL WORTH IT !!!!! Note to people must change your attitude too , instead of mummy petting my dog like I have in the past, I’ve now started to ignore his behaviour, even tried to distract him with ball games while fireworks were taking place , He still gets anxiety but Calms down so much quicker than he ever has …….. Try it …….. You won’t understand how it works ( like me ). But it does

Unfortunately this did not work for my dog in the 10 nights of hell known as Bonfire night (x10). However, it is good quality thick cotton material and there is loads of velco so you can adjust it a lot. I followed the instructions to the letter, but I guess it doesn’t work on every dog. My friend has it for her dog and it worked for her – she just had one bark out of her and then she went and laid down.

This has really helped to calm my dog down.
She suffers terrible anxiety at this time of year and refuses to leave the house at night.
The coast has calmed her greatly – to the extent that on November 5th, we managed to get her to settle and fall asleep, nestled between us on the sofa.
It’s not a complete cure but it certainly reduced her stress. Highly recommended.
I have to admit I was sceptical about this product but because my dog Roxy is terrified of loud bangs, fireworks Thunder etc. Read the reviews and decided to try it on her and was immediately very impressed by this coat, she does not like to wear a coat at all, pulls it off every chance she gets. I put the Thundershirt on her and she immediately was calmer and laid down instead of pacing and hiding, which I thought was incredible really and she did not try to pull it off at all. That day it was Thunder and today it was fireworks and soon it will be Guy Fawkes and I am glad that I bought it for her and going by the way it has worked so far I think she will be much calmer and less afraid which is what I want.
Worked for my Westie
Have used this a few times on my Westie cross and it seems to keep her calm when we travel. It’s not going in the car that upsets her, but going to unfamiliar places. So we only use it on long journeys. We went away for a weekend and she wore it on the journey and when we arrived at the B&B. She was calm and happy rather than nervous and shaky as she has been in the past. So my limited test suggests it works for her.
Thundershirt has been helpful
Having a dog who is TERRIBLY afraid of thunder, I decided that I would give this thundershirt a try. Getting it on has been the hardest part, because when the thunder starts, she is already prostrate on the ground, or behind / under something “safe” and is absolutely rigid with fear and shaking violently. However, once the thundershirt is on and secure, there has been a noticeable relaxation of the rigidity and shaking.
Previously, I used to wrap her in an old towel, which kept slipping and required me to be present to adjust it. The thundershirt has been most beneficial because it stays in place, and I can leave her in peace.
The relentless panting has been reduced too, by use of the shirt, and in addition I stick a cool bag under her head to help her not to overheat, which was always a big issue before.
I would recommend that you give this product a try, and maybe use in conjunction with a special thunderstorm de-sensitising CD if you have a dog with big thunder issues.

I purchased this for my rottweiler x with german shepherd who is extremely fearful of everything, I was a bit sceptical as to whether it would help, but was willing to try anything. This coat as soon as I put it on her calmed her. When we had visitors, she done her usual, barking and being scared, I put her coat on and she was a totally different dog, stopped barking immediately and even approached the visitors for a stroke! So glad I bought this coat for her, she wears it when we go to the vets and they have noticed a big difference in her when she has it on.

I was very sceptical about the so-called Thunder Shirt. How could it possibly work, I said to myself? Needless to say, I was proved decisively wrong and am literally amazed. Put it on the dog and after a few days he was not afraid or anxious about walking near the traffic or in town. How it works I do not know, but it has positively improved a very nervous border collie who didn’t want to walk very far into a dog who now enjoys it.

I have a very anxious springer spaniel. He hates fireworks and it really makes him ill. We have had to get drugs from the vet to help him cope, which would calm him down but not completely.
I read all the other reviews before buying this product and admit I was sceptical…. but desperate.
It’s made of very thin jersey fabric. Loads of velcro. It wouldn’t hold up to much wear. i would say it would be unsuitable to wear regularly, however just for the days leading up to Nov 5th and new years eve.. maybe it’s worth a try. I think it does work. We didn’t need to drug him at the end, but we’re not sure if it was because of the jacket or that he simply got used to the bangs going off every night. It went on for nearly 3 weeks this time.
This jacket only arrived this week so don’t have much to go by but on the day it arrived we had a massive thunder storm! My springer is terrified of most loud noises, the thunder shook the house! I put the jacket on her and I must admit, she was certainly much calmer! She doesn’t really like wearing anything but laid peacefully on the couch next to me. I took it off after about half an hour and she was back to her usual self. I would recommend this jacket.

You have to use the Thundershirt as per the instructions, but it does work in time. On Bonfire Night, my dog was a wreck and even the Thundershirt wouldn’t help, but it did help during the nights around Bonfire Night. However, on New Year’s Eve, when we had some very loud fireworks, I put the Thundershirt on my dog and it calmed her right down. I had also been giving her skullcap and valerian tablets, so she was a bit calmer anyway, but still freaked out until I put her Thundershirt on.
If it doesn’t work at first, stick with it and make sure you also use it now and again between periods of stress, with treats or games, so your dog associates the coat with pleasant things.
Thundershirt Anxiety Coat for Dog, Large
I purchased this on a recommendation of my sister who found it on the internet, as my baby a young female Staffordshire Bull Terrier as various anxiety problems including separation anxiety. She loves wearing it, and I have found it does calm her down somewhat when both actually wearing it and when not. Although still somewhat anxious she is not as bad and hope she further improve with its continue use.
I would recommend it to anyone whose dog gets stressed both in and out of the house, and when left alone.

I bought this for my collie who travels very badly. In conjunction with an adaptil collar it certainly helped.
The really impressive bit came on bonfire night with my other dog. He has been terrified of fire works and gun shots for years, put this on him mid afternoon and when the fire works started he raised his head and listened, but did not shake or mess the house. As he stayed calm the other dog didn’t react to him, so everything was good!!

When I received the shirt (despite reading the good reviews) I was sceptical how this thin t shirt with Velcro could work, but OMG I stand corrected!
My nervy labradoodle was much calmer during fireworks weekend when she was wearing it. She was still anxious but settled far far quicker with it on than she would normally. She stayed at my sisters the following weekend and usually being away from home and with fireworks still going off she would have been extremely anxious but my sis put the coat on her and she also couldn’t believe the difference in her, she said she even curled up and went to sleep ignoring all the bangs.
I would definitely recommend the Thundershirt my only negative is – do it in prettier colours please!

We have a 5 month old ‘lively’ labrador puppy. She is well socialised and the only thing she is afraid of is going in the car. We have also had some issues with her ‘jumping up’ at people during our daily walks, especially if they have children or dogs with them. As well as jumping, she chases our cats and has bouts of boisterous puppy ness! We decided ‘sceptically’ to try the thunder shirt. In the hopes that it would calm her down, make her easier to train and less afraid to travel. The thunder shirt arrived this morning and having avidly researched how best to introduce it, we followed the advice of Caesar Milan. When she was happy and in a calm state we tried the thunder shirt on! Immediately, she was even more calm and quietly lay down. We went for a walk and tried the shirt out, again fantastic success. Pulling on the lead was reduced by 90%! We couldn’t believe it. Final test was the cats. Again when wearing the shirt it was miraculous,where she would previously chase them, they were able to be in the same room with no problems. Myself and my partner can not believe this product actually works! We have yet to try the car journey but have high hopes of success. It really is not a gimmick. It DOES genuinely work. So if you are unsure,as we were,just try it. The transformation was miraculous.

My border collie dog is a nightmare when fireworks are going off, he gets really distressed, shakes, defacates will not be alone, even almost trying to eat through a door if he can’t open it to get to a person. I bought the Thundershirt Coat, not knowing whether it would make a difference, but must say I am impressed. As advised, I put it on him a couple of times when he was calm, and he was ok with that. He now wants to wear it when he’s distressed, and the difference is amazing. He stops shaking within seconds. He is still anxious about the noise, and may pace a little, but no shaking, will lie down quietly, and is nowhere near as distressed as without it. I would highly recommend.

I have recently adopted a dog who is anxious in certain scenario’s, so I wanted something to try and ease his stress. It gets rave reviews, so I thought it would help.
Its not an instant fix, but it is helping. He is happy to wear his coat, and while it stops him shaking and he’s definitely calmer, he is still unsure. Hopefully this will ease the more he wears it and the longer he’s with us. Overall I’m really pleased I bought it.

Ended up getting a medium for our Jack Russell. She has a very funny reaction to this when we put it on her. She stays stock still and when she does move, it’s as though she’s got a ton of weight on her 🙂 It didn’t cure her maniacal barking when the doorbell rings, but she does bark a little bit less with this on. Also, she refuses to go to the bathroom when wearing the Thundershirt; don’t know why, but she’ll hold it in all day if she had to – I guess that’s good for travelling, especially on an airplane. She’s not a dog who is very afraid on bonfire night; just a few woofs here and there, so that isn’t a real issue. We use it more for her anxiety during the day for noise. All in all, it’s a good buy if your dog suffers from any kind of anxiety and some hyperactivity, behaviour modification and reassurance is still needed. I’m glad we bought this for our dog – she’s a lot less stressed.

I must be honest, I couldn’t see how This would work on a hyper noisy west highland terrier who could and does bark forever at anything, but I was at the stage where it was this or medication.
It is brilliant it works, I don’t know how, the first time I put it on Harry he was around 80% calmer, the second day 90% calmer,

Wasn’t really sure what to expect , having read the reviews and was quite happy to think you get your money back if not happy with the Thundershirt , which i didn’t send back , and I’m still working out how it works as it just looks like a fleecy jacket with bits of velcro on it , but hey its helped a little bit , which I’m more than happy with , a bits better than nothing !! I have a South A’frican boerbaul an she is nearly 10 stone in weight , an only 3 years old an she can be a bit of a handful when she wants especially when we out for a walk, sorted her out in the house when she wants play with the postman through the letterbox ,an wanting to play with every one that comes through the door , still working on the walking but we will get there together I’m sure .Worth a try,nothing ventured nothing gained . I had read the reviews on this product and thought they were too good to be true but I bought it anyway. Well I was pleasantly surprised, as soon as I put it on my very excitable border collie/whippet cross it calmed her. I use it when out walking as it stops her pulling on the lead, I also use it if I know someone is coming to visit as it calms her down and stops her from jumping up at people. It washes well and I would recommend it. I was so pleased with it that I bought another one for my Dalmatian as he has problems with travelling in the car, it does not stop him from being sick but it does calm his nerves.

I bought 2 of these for my shih tzu girl and shih tzu crossbreed boy. He is quite a nervous temperament, doesn’t like going in the car and is often sick, and they both hate fireworks.
The jackets fit well, easy to put on, and the dogs are happy to wear them, although they are already used to wearing coats for wet weather walkies.
Christmas period was a good test….several longish car journeys and no sickness! And New Year fireworks were certainly less traumatic. He didn’t rush to hide and she didn’t bark incessantly like she usually does! So I am optimistic that these little coats will make life happier for them and me, time will tell!

An absolute wonder!
What an amazing buy this was! I have a Staffie who was terrified of going out. Over excited when visitors came, jumping up and making a nuisance of herself so she had to be confined to the kitchen whilst visitors were here. Couldn’t walk her she pulled me all over, and was scared of other dogs. I had to get a trainer in for her and she eventually recommended this jacket. We have never looked back. I now enjoy walking her, she is calm when visitors come, and is a different dog It is a pleasure to go out with her now, all due to the jacket. I recommend it to anyone who has similar problems with their pets.I dont know how it works, I only know it does.

I was sceptical but risked this product as it has a 30 day money back guarantee. The first time I used it for one of my dogs he fell asleep straight away and didn’t move for two hours.
He is very scared of fireworks so one evening when I only had limited time to walk him I used the shirt under his coat. A firework was set off very close to us and he didn’t even react.
Today my dogs were being groomed the same dog does not like getting his face cut and is very difficult. It usually takes two of us and holding a treat in his mouth to complete the task. Today I put his Thundershirt on a while before the groomer arrived and explained what it was for and we decided to give it a go. He sat happily and had his face trimmed for the first time ever, the groomer is still in shock and has taken the packaging so she can tell others about it.

Our dog, a patterdale terrier, has had a fear of fireworks for at least 5 years. She is now 11+. We are pleasantly surprised/pleased that we have found a product that has worked for her over this past Guy Fawkes season. Even putting the shirt on after fireworks have started in an evening has relaxed her. She has even fallen asleep at my feet. While out walking her, I ask other dog walkers how their dogs have been resently and then tell them about the ‘Thundershirt’.
I bought the Thundershirt for my rescue greyhound. He is an ex-racer and had a horrible start in life in the hands of the racing industry and as a result, he was always very nervous when leaving the house. Everything was very overwhelming for him on walks and he was very jumpy and anxious. He simply couldn’t relax. On our very first walk with him in the Thundershirt, he was much calmer and the anxious lead pulling was gone. He now walks calmly on the lead (bar when we see a cat/rabbit/squirrel, etc!) and walks are so much more enjoyable now. The only slight downside is that despite the product stating to the contrary, I would not recommend putting it on your dog on a hot day. However, living in Britain, this really isn’t much of an issue! 😉
I Just recieved the Thundershirt today, it fitted really well but I did have reservations on whether it would work or not but we have just had Jubilee fireworks go off very close to the house, Normally my Jack Russell “Chloe” is terrified of loud noises and goes beserk trying to find a place to hide, she has even jumped into an empty bath before and tried to scratch a deep hole in a rather large potted cheese plant in her panic, It didn’t do the poor plant a lot of good! Her nickname is “CC” which stands for crazy Chloe!

I was quite skeptical that this product would work as it looks just like a dog coat ( an expensive one.) However i have seen a big differance in the behaviour of my excitable, nervous 18 month old dalmatian. she now sits calmly in the car, listens at dog training classes and walks calmly past strangers. All of which used which used to scare her sending her into mad cartwheels and pulling/ lunging. Making it very difficult to control her. I would recommend this item to anyone with a nervous dog. While it is not a miracle cure, it helps reduce anxiety and trembling immediately without the need for anything else. My dog seems to enjoy wearing it and calms down very quickly once I put it on him, usually when he is frightened by random fireworks or loud bangs, as well as by thunder. It is light but very well made, with good strong velcro closures, and easy to put on & take off. I am very happy with this purchase.
The Thundershirt is BRILLIANT!!!! It’s November 5th and my Lab/Collie cross has always been a gibbering wreck on Bonfire Night, but has scarcely batted an eyelid at the various bangs, whooshes and whizzes going off this evening. She can hear them, because she does look up, she just doesn’t seem to mind when she’s wearing her magic coat and most of the evening has just dozed at my feet as she usually does on any other night. They also recommend them for thunderstorms (which also terrify Scully) and it is worth every single penny not to have her in a state of abject terror and me praying for rain to end the evening’s festivities. I gather they don’t always work as well for every dog, but I’m glad it works for Scully. Getting a 37 kilogram dog from under the bath or out of the drum of the tumble dryer (she’s hidden in both in desperation) is not fun, or easy!
