Well I only did a spot try on a carpet, I have two pets in a small house so there’s no avoiding the carpet getting dirty especially since it’s pink!
The difference is absolutely incredible already and I am delighted with my purchase.
It’s easy to use, the instructions are clear. Easy to clean too. Powerful little machine. I couldn’t even store a big one so this is compact and fits on a shelf. It would take more refills to wash a big area but it really doesn’t matter.

I purchased this for cleaning my sofa and car upholstery.
It does a great job.
Only comments/observations
1; The vacuum hose is quite short requiring the machine to be lifted onto the sofa or car seats.
2: The clean and dirty water tanks need emptying and refilling often if a large area is being cleaned.
3; The water spray button often gets stuck resulting in the area to be cleaned getting flooded with water. I reported this to Amazon and was offered a replacement so perhaps it’s just my machine that has a slight fault.
Overall I’m very impressed by its performance in relation to the relatively low price
This is a brilliant little machine. It has pulled the majority of stains out that I’ve used it on (one or two were too set in). The stain liquid that it comes with is great. Does seem to use a lot of stain liquid though. Really effective machine.
I used the cleaner for upholstery and carpet. Worked very well. Well laid out instruction booklet and plenty of videos online to show you exactly what to do. I found them very helpful. I did find it a bit on the heavy side but then I am an older lady with arthritis but I did cope well.
Amazon have this on offer atm for 90 pay over 5 months and I took this offer. All good on the cash flow and product does what it says on the tin. What’s not to like?
Many years ago I owned and operated a big industrial carpet/upholstery cleaning machine, so I know how to use one. This little machine obviously does not have the same power and capacity but is quite adequate for what it is designed to do – deal with small areas. The spray and suction perform well and it is handy to be able to see when no more liquid is being sucked out of the target area. Frequent passes of the hand tool are necessary to ensure as little as possible moisture remains. The machine performs well, within its limited capacity. Only drawbacks are small tanks requiring frequent emptying/filling but on the whole I am happy with the machine and recommend it for small jobs.
From muddy footprints to those inevitable juice spills, this little powerhouse has been a game changer in our bustling household. Setting it up is a breeze — just fill the tank, add the solution, and you’re off! I’ve tried it on our living room carpet (which has witnessed more family antics than I care to count) and the results were astounding. The carpet looked almost new and dried within a few hours. Granted, the tank isn’t massive, so for larger areas, you might find yourself refilling, but it’s a small inconvenience for the cleaning power it delivers. The noise level is quite reasonable for a machine of its efficiency. While it didn’t get all the stains out on the first pass — especially on heavily soiled spots — a quick second round did the trick. It’s also lightweight enough for lugging up and down the stairs without breaking a sweat. The self-cleaning hose is a nifty feature, keeping maintenance fuss to a minimum. Highly recommended for any household looking for a reliable and efficient cleaning buddy.
This spotwash really brought the carpet up on the stairs, which I’m thoroughly pleased with. It isn’t that heavy, easy to use, and dried quickly due to the suction nicely collecting the dirty water. It smelt lovely afterwards. There’s a lot of traffic in this house, so I was pleased with the performance, and it’s nice to know I’ve got it for future messes! It’ll come in very handy for my fabric sofa, too. It is a bit noisy, but that’s to be expected. All carpet cleaners are. The attachments are brilliant, it’s of a handy size which fits lovely under the stairs, and it’s well worth the money. Very pleased!
Really pleased with the product really simple to use. No fiddly bits to attach. I cleaned my carpet which came up great and was dry in a few hours. I also cleaned some upholstery and again worked great and was dry in a few hours.
The tanks are small but, the area it can clean with the water is impressive. Would recommend! I already have friends and family asking to use it!

I bought this cleaner to clean all the carpets and upholstery after my cat got fleas, it was easy to use, did the job, although I had to keep filling it up with water and cleaner due to the size of the job. Not sure why I’ve never had one of these before, perfect and we are flea free!
Love this for stairs
I have an upright for carpets but can’t use for stairs – got this just for the stairs and love it – small tank for clean and dirty water, so have to refill/empty a lot but it is lightweight, fits on my ‘mid war years’ built house stairs and does a really good job.

As you can see by the photos it did an excellent job. Easy to use. Suction very good. Desperately needed it for the stairs due to terrified dog during fireworks making a mess. The free bottle of 250ml only good for one tank use so recommend buying more at same time as you order.

Disappointed the enclosed cleaning fluid did not last very long at all. Filled the container up as recommended and the contents covered about 6 sq feet. The full bottle of cleaning fluid did not last long enough to clean the full carpet 6ft x 5ft.

Although I’m ashamed by these pics I have added them to show people how amazing I found this machine. We have pets in our house that are allowed on the furniture and although the sofa didn’t look particularly dirty this is the result from using the spot wash. So happy with my purchase.

VAX creates a great tool for Cleaning!
Bought the VAX spot washer to clean small patches associated to common foot resting areas ie Couch, doorway, car carpets & stairs. Works as expected, easy to fill (with VAX solution. other carpet cleaning solutions wil suffice) & empty. Uses a spray/brush to agitate surface and excellent suction to collect fluid from wet area. Actually works well, but you need to be active with this for best results! Good size and would recommend for small areas/spills etc

I took a chance on this, I have a dog that loves rubbing her back on my sofas3-2 and a chair hence how filthy they’re I’ve included two pictures so you could see the difference. It took a while to get the hang of how to get the best out of this little machine as the instructions are vague. However, stick with it as once you have mastered it this little diamond is amazing. I wish I’d taken before & after photos as I cleaned a spot on a light grey carpet that over the space of a year must have had around 4 drinks knocked over in the same spot from coffee to wine & it looked awful but this cleaner did the job it came up like new. My only criticisms are that the instructions could do with improving & I didn’t really rate the solution it comes with but the machine itself gets my vote

I bought this mainly for the sofa as my naughty dog jumped on with muddy paws. It’s fantastic my sofa came up like new. My son has since borrowed it for his sofa which is a cream colour. That also came up lovely

My first ever review, this machine is 100% great, i knew my carpet was dirty but actually horrified to see just how dirty, the machine lifted 3 years of dirt super easy, even some red paint my daughter spilled weeks ago that i thought would never come out, i have a large living room and its taken about 6 tanks to do half of it, maybe i spray a lot but i would rather use alot and have it look immaculate than try and scrimp. The vax solution is great but expensive, dr beckmann solution is just as good and more than 6 cheaper. Its very loud but that doesnt bother me.
Fantastic little wash vac
This is a great extraction vacuum. I have done my hall and stairs carpet with great results. I have also used it on my cars carpets and upholstery the car was dry in less than 2 hrs and the hoover was perfect sized to get in and about the car. I cannot fault this machine it does exactly what it says on the tin. And gives fabrics a new lease of life.

It is light, compact and easy to use. I tried it first on a tea stain on my mom’s carpet, gone in a few seconds. Then I tried it on stains on the cream bedroom carpet, these were old stains. In a few minutes it looked like a new carpet. I am planning to do my stairs next. Best 99 I ever spent.
Alright, I can see a difference
Very easy to use. I had hoped for better results but I can in fact see a difference from the first use.
You get a small starter bottle in the box but I had also already bought an additional 1 litre bottle. The 1 litre bottle does about 4 rounds. I had to buy more fluid straight away as the sofas quite big. The second purchase was the carpet cleaner version as you get an extra 500ml of cleaning fluid for the same price.

Was about to pay for a professional to clean my carpets for 190 and read a review about this Vax product. Made the purchase and thought give it a go. Always suspicious about how good these things are. Well, amazing simple to use and clean product – just brilliant! Cleaned two bedrooms , landing and stairs. Really pleased with results!

Best thing I’ve ever brought!! So easy to use, the suction is brilliant on it and completely removes stains. Someone spilt tea on my brand new carpet an this got it up straight away. The tea had been there for 3 days so would have stained an this has got it straight up. Would recommend it all day
I’ve waited about a month before writing this review because usually when I buy something expensive , it breaks. Not this cleaner though , this little guy is my best friend.
I am disabled and live in rented accommodation which came with carpets which looked like a husky had used Nair on itself then rubbed it off on the floor. The place was filthy . I did what I could with my heavy hoover and a bit of sponge and water but it never had that clean feeling . I decided i’d buy this and oh , OH , what a good purchase of mine . The pure dirt and filth that has come out made my skin crawl . The carpets now feel like they are clean . I then decided to try it on my charity shop bought sofa and yet again , I was disgusted at my filth. I then got carried away prancing round the house using this on every fabric surface that would fit in the washing machine. It’s fab .
It’s lightweight and for a disabled person like myself it’s easy enough to carry . It comes apart for very easy cleaning . You can even take the brush head apart without tools to clean which is fab!

Great little machine.
Bought this as an addition to a larger carpet cleaner just for small spills and doggy accidents. Has come in useful a couple of times already. Not got any negative things to say about it, does what I need it for and when you have 5 dogs in the house there’s going to be the occasional accident..
Don’t know how I lived without this
I have had this a few months and today the dog trailed the so much mud through the house, I thought we were going to have to replace the carpets! But the Vax had the mud out in no time! The photo is taken 1 minute after using it so lots of bits are yet to dry, but this machine is a life saver!

It is advertised as a spot cleaner so don’t assume (like me) it would be easy to clean the stairs or a large rug
However, if the trigger is sparingly used, and you just want to give the stairs a lighter wash, you can make the tank last for about 1/2 a stairway before refilling!

Save a fortune by DIY
Bought this as a last ditch attempt to clean the upholstery on an Ikea sofa. I’d tried every manual method known to man and a few I invented myself. Nothing worked , the sofa was destined for the great sofa graveyard in the sky……. well hell actually… the material attracted dirt so badly……….. Anywhoooooo. bought this Vax Spotshifter thingy and spend about an hour on the sofa, using the prescribed cleaning solution made by VAX and hey presto…… The sofa looks like brand new. I nearly bought a more attractive sounding product with lower power and I’m glad I didn’t, this sucks hard enough to land you in hospital if pointed at the wrong area. it is simply brilliant and works better than it says ‘on the tin’. Car and Mattresses are next. Seriously don’t be tempted by other ones, this does the job and I got it for a great price too of around 120.00 Euro. Worth every cent. I might marry it.
Vax Spot Cleane
Have waited to submit a review until I used the machine. I have the Vax full size machine but although excellent I find it very heavy to manoevre now Im elderly. I live in a bungalow so did not require it for stairs but have found the thresholds from my kitchen and living room had got very dirty due to constant traffic so thought the Spot Washer might serve to do these small areas. Have found it ideal for the purpose and has cleaned these areas very well, both being roughly the size of stairs and I shall do my passage way and hall in due course. I have a cat and so I do get a lot of fine hair in the carpet which it has picked up. I will be able to do most of my carpets a bit at a time and the flex is a good length to reach my wall sockets. Do recommend, quite light, and easy to set up. Can recommend
Initial thoughts are good....
Cats with hairballs can mean vomit, unfortunate but a reality.
Needed to clean a rug primarily but also found it was quite up to the job of doing a sofa seat as well.
The unit is compact, easily fits under the stairs and is easy to use.
***Pro points are:
easy to open the dirty tank to empty & clean out easily, top comes right off.
self cleaning hose function, easy to do….
and the cleaning head also comes completely apart to get hairs and fluff out !
Why all the others don`t do this by default has always baffled me.
The suction power wasn`t disappointing, no worse than anything else I`ve tried,
things are left damp to the touch, as expected.
It did what was expected and cleaned the rug adequately on the initial trial run I did when it first arrived.
One point of concern is the way the water tank is joined at the base, it appears to be heat sealed and doesn`t seem to be very well done (or designed) in my opinion, a potential source of leaks in the future ?
(This could explain why some people are seeing leaking off the bat, something I will keep my eye on for sure – but I won`t necessarily be leaving clean water standing in it while it`s in storage….not at first anyway)
The hose doesn`t appear to be easily removable in case it splits and it isn`t *that* flexible, so hopefully that won`t be an issue.
Not a lot to say about it really other than it worked as expected with no major issues concerning design, functionality or capability but if anything should occur I will be sure to report back.
I already had a full upright which was WAY too big and incredibly annoying and awkward to clean since getting rid of a lot of carpeting here, moved on to a smaller handheld unit which worked well enough for spot stains on the floor but not really suited to upholstery…
this one seems to be the best in-between option if you don`t have large areas of carpet to clean.
I paid 99 rather than the MRP of ~129 but felt as though it should have been around the 70 mark….I`m just getting more critical in my old age.
Great Cleane
I bought this vax spot cleaner so I could clean my sofa and stair carpet instead of paying a cleaning company over the odds. I got 3 of these dirty tanks out of my sofa and another 3 out of my stair carpet.
The machine is very easy to setup and use, the cable is a decent length and there is a self clean port for the hose so once you finish you are able to flush the hose through so its clean and ready for the next use…especially ideal if you’ve had to clean vomit or any other foul stain.
I read a few reviews saying their dirty water unit was leaking onto the floor, I have not had that issue with my unit.
Very happy with my purchase and it has done a great job, much better than when I had my sofa professionally cleaned and my stair carpet looks like new.

In purchasing this machine I was looking for something easy to set up, use and put away and this machine is brilliant for all 3. If you have a young dog in the house then this machine comes highly recommended. Exactly as it says brilliant for spots on the carpet, aka accidents! I have had an upright vax before and the portability makes this machine much more user friendly. It is also less noisy than the upright we had but still gives a good blast. I found a very helpful YouTube video for user tips on set up and also the one question I had on connecting for hose self clean. This by the way is in my opinion a brilliant feature – hold the hose in the connector switch on and flush the hose clean in a few seconds. The machine is lighter than I thought it would be and excellent quality build – also absolutely no leaks. Some of the reviews I read mentioned this and I have not had a problem at all. I don’t normally write reviews put feel strongly that this marvellous little machine deserves a 5 star review.
Fantastic Cleane
This is absolutely brilliant for stairs. It’s really easy to use and really has some suction considering how compact it is, fits perfectly under the stairs or in a cupboard and what I think is really excellent is that it has a nozzle cleaner. I have used it on carpet, Tiles and Lino, it comes up trumps on all three.

It works just as it says, I was actually quite shocked with the dirt of the water that was lifted! Leaving my carpets fresh and so clean again! I am absolutely astonished at the results. I used it on our matress that had never been cleaned in 5 years and the before and after are impressive!!! I had to empty the dirty water tank and refill the clean tank about 4 times to get it done and it took me about 4-5 hours intensive work (including pre-treating the surface). It was just brilliant. My matress was awfully disgusting and now it smells and feels fresh!
I bought a big spot washer specific detergent (you can find many options on amazon) but I pre-treated the matress by diluiting some Vanish brilliant white in some warm water and spraying all over the surface and let it sit for about 30 minute before starting to clean with the machine. I have to clarify that this is not recommended practice by the manufacturer but I wanted to get back a nice, as white and clean as possible surface!
This machine worked even better than my expectations, I watched loads of videos and read loads of reviews about spot washers before buying, fianlly I decided for this one because a I got a good discount during Black Friday and because of the extended warranty.
I add a little tape around the noozle to avoid loosing any suction from fissure, I knew before buying that this machine is for domestic use only and is not as powerful compared to other machines on the market, but it was good enough to do the job amazingly well for me. Next stop is clean the car in spring, I can’t wait!!!
Fantastic cleaner!
This cleaner is nothing short of brilliant! So far, I’ve used it only in the car, but am dying to try it in the house too! The car seats were looking a little tired, the back seat spotted with old food and drink stains, but this cleaner took them straight out! The seats were very wet at one point, and I was concerned that maybe it would leave behind water marks, but I was worried over nothing. I just kept going over with the vac until no more water came out, and it was done – and no water marks!
And a gross bonus is watching the dirty water tank fill up! 🙂
It’s about as loud as a regular vacuum cleaner, and isn’t very heavy at all. It’s very nice and compact and easily sat in the rear footwells of the car while I did the back seat. It also comes with a 250ml bottle of solution, so unless you’re doing the whole house, it should be plenty.
It also has a self-cleaning mode, so another opportunity to watch the dirty water tank fill up! 🙂
If I had to find a fault, perhaps the hose that connects the hand unit to the cleaner could be a little more flexible and a little longer, but that’s being REALLY picky. It really is brilliant and I have absolutely no regrets buying it. The price did feel a little high at the time, but now that I’ve had a chance to use it, it’s definitely worth every penny!

So im really not one to leave reviews unless I’m really unhappy about something or I’m super happy with the product which is very rare! But anyway a few days ago I paid for a professional carpet cleaner to come in and do my sofa and living room carpet (which cost more than this little machine!) But we since noticed a few stains on the hall way carpet and didn’t want to pay out the hefty price tag of a professional to come out so I found this after seeing some reviews! I’d already tried like the can foamers to try budge these stains but they wasn’t budging whatsoever. First attempt of this machine they have since come out first attempt!!! I only done a small patch where the stains was and since leaving it to dry my carpet was 2 different colors! Which I didn’t realize it was so bad so now I’ve just gone and done the whole hallway and it really didn’t take me long at all. I’m super super super happy!!! Definitely recommend to anyway!
This carpet went down in 2016; I’ve had 2 professional company cleans in the last 3 years and regularly scrub by hand with Vanish carpet spray. This patch in my bedroom near to the doorway but where rugs don’t cover really suffers as it’s a high traffic area. I have 4 tiny dogs and myself using this room more than any other room in the house. Although the dogs haven’t wet/messed on this carpet (installed after house training) we walk over it constantly. I didn’t have high hopes that the brown staining would come out, when scrubbed by hand it’s always stayed noticeable. The after photo was taken following my first attempt at using the machine and it was still damp, but since it’s dried (it’s not nighttime so not able to photograph accurately) but it’s like new carpet again! Im really pleased with this purchase. It comes with a small bottle of cleaning solution which was only enough for this area and the after use machine rinse so I’ve ordered a 5 litre bottle of cleaner. The hose rinse is really simple to use after cleaning with the machine. It’s practically assembled when it arrives, instructions are simple to follow. I activated my 2 year guarantee before using it today. The cord is a good length. It is a loud machine and did make my dogs bark, however they bark at most noisy things being rescues. It’s going to be perfect for my hallway rugs/runners which take quite a beating with dogs coming in and out the garden all day. It’s not a significantly heavy machine when empty, and I like that the chambers come off to carry separately to the sink – being disabled with a severe back injury I was worried I wouldn’t manage it, but I did, and also it stores easily on a shelf. There will be no stopping me once the cleaning solution arrives tomorrow.

Fantastic cleaner!
This cleaner is nothing short of brilliant! So far, I’ve used it only in the car, but am dying to try it in the house too! The car seats were looking a little tired, the back seat spotted with old food and drink stains, but this cleaner took them straight out! The seats were very wet at one point, and I was concerned that maybe it would leave behind water marks, but I was worried over nothing. I just kept going over with the vac until no more water came out, and it was done – and no water marks!
And a gross bonus is watching the dirty water tank fill up! 🙂
It’s about as loud as a regular vacuum cleaner, and isn’t very heavy at all. It’s very nice and compact and easily sat in the rear footwells of the car while I did the back seat. It also comes with a 250ml bottle of solution, so unless you’re doing the whole house, it should be plenty.
It also has a self-cleaning mode, so another opportunity to watch the dirty water tank fill up! 🙂
If I had to find a fault, perhaps the hose that connects the hand unit to the cleaner could be a little more flexible and a little longer, but that’s being REALLY picky. You need to put in the elbow greese but this machine makes wonders!
I am absolutely astonished at the results. I used it on our matress that had never been cleaned in 5 years and the before and after are impressive!!! I had to empty the dirty water tank and refill the clean tank about 4 times to get it done and it took me about 4-5 hours intensive work (including pre-treating the surface). It was just brilliant. My matress was awfully disgusting and now it smells and feels fresh!
I bought a big spot washer specific detergent (you can find many options on amazon) but I pre-treated the matress by diluiting some Vanish brilliant white in some warm water and spraying all over the surface and let it sit for about 30 minute before starting to clean with the machine. I have to clarify that this is not recommended practice by the manufacturer but I wanted to get back a nice, as white and clean as possible surface!
This machine worked even better than my expectations, I watched loads of videos and read loads of reviews about spot washers before buying, fianlly I decided for this one because a I got a good discount during Black Friday and because of the extended warranty.
I add a little tape around the noozle to avoid loosing any suction from fissure, I knew before buying that this machine is for domestic use only and is not as powerful compared to other machines on the market, but it was good enough to do the job amazingly well for me. Next stop is clean the car in spring, I can’t wait!!!
Does what it says!
Images attached show the results and I am definitely very happy! I imagine it’ll be amazing on fresh spills but this was second hand and has been covered with a throw until now, so the stains have sat for a while. Under 10 mins to read up and assemble, 15 mins to do the foot stool and I’m now searching the house for furniture to clean before I move on to the car.
It is very light to carry, the hose is a bit stiff to manoeuvre initially but it is easy to use and does exactly what it says!
This is a great machine. Really easy to use, and the suction is powerful, so my mat was left dry enough to walk on afterwards. I was disgusted at the colour of the water after cleaning but shows it works! The hose self clean function is great for keeping the machine clean throughout.
This is compact and easy to use.
This is a brilliant little piece of kit. I needed something compact to fit in cupboard for easy access. My house is busy with two children and two dogs. I was so amazed the amount of dirt picked up, the water was black! Ewww ! How embarrassing! So please I’ve now done two rugs my stairs and landing! A lot of bending but totally worth it.

I have a doggo who can’t go out due to severe allergies, so he has a puppy pad. It now stops me from getting the carpet cleaner out every time he has an accident on the carpet. Which being disabled is a task and a half in itself. Now I clean the area with this and wow! I went over the same spot 3 or 4 times as it was do dirty! To the point I’m considering getting rid of my actual carpet cleaner! (Not vax brand) currently now cleaning my sofa which we’ve had since 2020, at the start of the pandemic and had a few stains on that I had rubbed in when trying to hand clean,this machine got rid of them easy peasy.
I think my hubby thinks I’m a nutcase but honestly love this product. Just because not to spray too much on your sofa, like I did as it took a good few sections to get it to touch dry! But that was my fault not the machines haha.

Pleased with my purchase
I’m loving my Spot Cleaner so far. I had to get rid of my very heavy Vax upright Cleaner as, although it was easy to use on the main carpets, it was too heavy for me to cope with cleaning the stair carpet. This lightweight Cleaner is much better for me.

Easy to assemble and use. Very efficient – I bought it for the stairs – I bought a larger one for the room carpets. It works really well. Picture shows the dirt from one staircase! Good price too.

I can’t comment on how well this lasts as I’ve only just got mine but so far so good. Spruced up my sofas and is just what I was looking for. Also a really reasonable price compared to similar product by different brands.

Easy to use
I wasn’t sure about vax spotwash however I have to say that I am surprise, its easy to use, very useful tools to have when you have a dogs and small kids. I am satisfied.

Does the job didn’t realise how dirty the water would get we never come in the house with shoes on but carpets have been down a few years now and was fed up off scrubbing patches by hand with having kids sometimes things get spilled juice etc so got this it’s really easy to use. only filling the tank to the correct measurements was a bit tricky with the opening been at the side off the container would off been better at the top but it works so good that’s not a big deal really. I used it to clean hallway (high traffic area) and has shown in pic off the carpet I left a patch on the left side unwashed to see the difference very pleased with it. Also it’s quiet a small machine and easy to store away when not using I keep mine under kitchen sink. It comes with a small bottle 250mls so would buy more as if doing large areas like I did it uses the full 250ml bottle in one use. Carpets felt a bit damp after but didn’t take too long too fully dry about just over an hour I noticed it was dry again and the machine has a self cleaning to clean out the pipe after use which I thought was a good idea
