Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersAn impulse purchase I did not regre
I bought this on Black Friday, although the standard price is still very competitive. It had 0 reviews at the time so I was slightly anxious! I was considering the ASUS VP28UQGL, however that was a TN panel, and this one is IPS so I thought it was worth the risk. I was not disappointed.

    Firstly a correction:
The listing implies that it has 1x HDMI and 1x DP input. It in fact has 2x HDMI, and 1x DP which was a bonus!

    The good:
    – 0 dead pixels!
    – nice deep colours
    – sharp and crystal clear
    – lots of OSD options to tweak whites, colour balance, with preset and custom profiles to switch between
    – stylish and sturdy build quality

    The not so good:
    – limited ergonomics (cannot adjust height or rotate, only tilt. It has VESA mounts so an arm can solve this problem)
    – OSD is a bit fiddly (but then they all are!)
    – Doesn’t play too well with MacOS Mojave (cannot use in 4k mode, only 1440p or 1080p. It also blinks on and off when first connected)

Overall the “not so goods” are minute trivial issues. I have enjoyed flawless 4k video streaming, movies, gaming in 1440p with no tearing with FPS ranging from 20 – 60. For the price (both the BF deal and standard RRP) this is a fantastic product!

I bought 2 of these monitors for a double monitor setup, and they are perfect! The think bezel makes it great for gaming along with the 165hz! Would recommend to any gamers!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat for price
The monitor arrived faster than I expected it to, which was a nice surprise.
Packaged well and comes with HDMI and DisplayPort cables and two power cables for UK/Euro plugs. No USB cable, so if you want to use the built-in USB hub you’ll need to find your own.

Attaching the base was easy, no tools needed.

The monitor is a nice size and feels sturdy, the stand holds it well and it doesn’t wobble or move around if you bump the desk. It also doesn’t take up too much space on the desk despite it’s size.

Out of the box I fond that the picture was a bit too red, and I noticed some ghosting on darker backgrounds.
The colour issue was fixed by changing the colour mode to User and then going through the Windows 10 display calibration wizard.
Enabling the monitor’s Overdrive mode and setting it to Medium fixed most of the ghosting. There will still be some as it’s a VA panel, but it’s a lot better when the overdrive is turned on.

Works well for the handful of games I tried such as Anno 1800, Tropico 6 and Doom Eternal, and the image quality is pretty good. It’s not the brightest but for the price it’s certainly acceptable.
I did try enabling nVidia GSync (which this monitor is not certified for) and it works, but in some games it causes a slight flicker.
The colours and contrast are good for movies, works really well in a darkened room.

My main use for the monitor will be for working rather than gaming. It has replaced dual 1080p monitors, and it’s just a much easier to use and neater solution.

No dead or stuck pixels to report either.

Overall, great monitor if you’ll use for work or productivity, works well for games too but if you’re into super fast paced games and think the ghosting on dark colours might be an issue then an IPS monitor is probably what you want.

For the price this one was, it’s hard to find much better.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLooks excellent and good compatibility
Running DisplayPort at 100Hz and HDMI also at 100Hz into this screen and it works beautifully.

    Pros:
Perfect size for multi-tasking, usually run three screens @1080p but this and just one other monitor is tons of space
HDMI and DP can both run at 100Hz despite some sources online claiming otherwise (this is for the CU354G2/BK not the more expensive X version) but make sure you’ve got the right versions of the cables, older DP/HDMIs won’t perform
No ghosting or lag when gaming, I play competitive FPS games and it’s excellent
Discrete bezels and the red strip at the bottom isn’t too noticeable, it looks professional not gamer’y

    Cons:
More dead pixels than I’d like, apparently their “gaming” range have a no dead pixel guarantee but not this one, beware of that. I have a few clusters which are annoying but not a huge issue.
Sometimes I’ll try to switch from DP to one of the HDMIs and despite there being a signal from my device, it takes a solid minute before it’ll come online.
It’s a little bit dim, the monitor puts out good light but it’s all just a little washed out compared to a normal 1080 monitor. I got used to this quickly and it doesn’t bother me now but I’d like blacks to be… Blacker.
Really really should have multiple DisplayPort inputs instead of 1xDP and 2xHDMI

Great looking screen for the price. Extremely well packaged. Screen looks amazing, has really brought games to life. Only bad thing to mention is button on bottom are incredibly awkward to press. Very recessed into body so you have to use the tip of your nail to press the buttons.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersDecent budget monitor with plenty of features
Bought this monitor at 176. For what it gives you, I can’t argue for the price!
The colour setup that came standard was decent and okay, but with it’s “gaming monitor” features, it definitely brings alot more to colour and sharpness to those areas you need.
With the primary focus being the curved aspect of the monitor, it gives it a smooth and sleek design……and not much else for me really. personal opinion I suppose, but for a 165hz monitor @ 1080p that gives you faux HDR settings, overdrive modes, 1ms response and a crisp image, I picked correctly.

The only downsides really is it’s lack of agility and audio quality. While the screen is tiltable to certain angles, it lacks height adjustment, which some might feel is a deal breaker. Beyond that, no issues with stuck/dead pixels or backlight bleed.
As for the audio, it’s very tinny and lacks any real emphasis behind it, but im sure some dolby speakers with a subwoofer will fix that!

Have had this for about a year now and honestly – it was everything I was expecting.

Not sure why people are so picky with “backlight”, “color saturation”, etc. when the average user will not even bother going into the settings and just use it out of the box (maybe they will turn the FreeSync on). That is why this is a super good monitor – AT this price point. IPS, 144HZ, 1080p, built in speakers, USB hub, great settings menu.

I have had zero problems with mine, no dead pixels, no bleeding, no issues with the panel whatsoever.

If you can get this at the price I got it (169) then you shouldn’t even bother looking at other monitors.

    Well done AOC.

    High refresh rate decent brightness
Says what it does and the seller delivered 3 days earlier than expected. Which is a bonus. Do note that 34 inch ultra wides are a specific bunch as a Nvidia card with G-sync and this monitor has its issues causing unwanted blank screens which is due to some technical issue within the G-sync module itself. There are workarounds but requires decent googling. So if your expectation is to have excellent variable refresh rates without it being verified G-sync. Well there are limits.

Review of the 24 inch IPS monitor (HD, 75 Hz).

For around 150 this is a very good value screen that is bright and clear. Great for both gaming (playing fortnite etc) and general use like surfing the web, working from home etc. No blur or issues noted with the 75 Hz refresh rate.

The monitor stand is well built and sturdy allowing screen height and tilt to be easily adjusted. UK plug provided along with HDMI and DP cables. Built in speakers are average quality (same probably applies to most budget monitors). Workaround is to use headphones or external speakers.

Do not buy from CCL computers.
All around good gaming monitor for the price. No need to fiddle with the settings as its good straight out the box. Maybe a little too bright but that’s a easy fix. No ghosting issues from what I experienced (100hz-144hz) colours are good. Speakers are useless but that’s expected from any gaming monitor.

However do not buy it from CCL computers as its overpriced and to get a return refunded its a hassle. Also I order it brand new but what I got was a second hand with the labels stuck back on the wrong place and a brocken seal box.

I’m still waiting on my refund despite using CCL provided dpd pick up label plus no answer from CCL yet after inquiring about the refund twice so far.

Buy it straight off amazon as its much cheaper and and if theres any issue it’s resolved a lot faster. Amazon sells out fast due to cheaper price but its worth the wait cos you get the service with it.

This monitor is really good if you have the right set up, only issue is that I had a very minor dead pixel on the screen (so small I could just about see it) and that it clearly wasn’t sent to me first as it had someone else’s address which means its been either returned or its second hand, packaging was all intact despite box being open so all in all im happy with the item

I ordered the 34″ 3440×1440 144hz model, and after reading other reviews I had concerns about receiving the right model. When it showed up it was the correct model with no dead pixels or other issues. The AOC G-Menu software is pretty bad but I only used it to set the correct refresh rate. HDR is basically unusable, and it takes a bit of time to tweak the display. It came with both a UK and US power cable, and both an HDMI and DP cable.

If you want HDR look elsewhere. If you want a 144hz ultrawide at 1440p, get this one.

For the price this is a stunning monitor, is it perfect? No but I doubt you’ll find better for less than a 1000. Set overdrive to medium and get the colour settings to your liking and I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

The monitor is very responsive the 144Hz and 1440p is a huge upgrade from my 24″ LG 1080p 75hz monitor. Even though the LG monitor was an IPS and this one is a TN I would say it’s better in every way than my old monitor a bit more expensive then my old one by about 200 but worth it. Now I suck at games at 1440p at 144hz 😉

    Great for the RRP
This is a great monitor for close to its RRP, the issue is that it isn’t at its RRP often. Most of the bad reviews are because the customer received the wrong monitor and aren’t reflective of the product. I had an LG 2560×1080 144hz IPS and this monitor subjectively is better than that for color reproduction, couple that with the better resolution and it is a winner.
The downside of this monitor is that in some reviews the panels pixel response time means that it cant achieve a true 144hz but is actually around 120hz. My graphics card is struggling to get above 100 fps in most game with this screen anyway. I feel an upgrade coming on!!

I was looking for a bigger monitor coming from a 24 inch and i thought 27 inch would be perfect. I Have read so many reviews and have gone many forums and people have said that 1080p on a 27 inch monitor is a bad decision as the pixel density is too small and it would have a bad/soft picture. This is completely incorrect and the resolution is perfect and is very sharp. The reviews and forums have stated that if you want a 27 inch monitor then you should go with a 1440p monitor as this is “THE SWEET SPOT” but you take a massive hit on GPU performance when gaming. I have a GTX 1660ti so at 1080p i get very good frame rates and i cant afford and new GPU (and also wouldn’t benefit getting a more powerful one anyways). Don’t listen to all the people who say that 1080p is bad on a 27inch monitor as this is completely false and looks no different from my previous 24 inch monitor (apart from looking much sharper with fantastic colours).

The AOC 27G2U is a great size, 144hz AND is G-Sync compatible with lots of options in the OSD to tweak to your hearts content. Out of the box colours were great but I’m using the user1 mode and have reduced the green a little and set the overdrive to medium and looks fantastic using desktop applications and you can really see the difference when gaming. The OSD is very snappy but the buttons are a little fiddly but once set them you don’t need to touch them.

All in all a perfect monito

A fantastic monitor for 144hz gaming and a great colour profile.
I picked the monitor up as I was growing tired of being limited to 60fps in many of the first person shooters that I play due to my old 60hz monitor, meanwhile my hardware could push me up to 200fps+ on certain games. The jump from 60hz to 144hz was better than I expected, I haven’t used it enough to notice any statistical improvements in the games I play but I do notice myself being able to line up shots a lot easier due to the smoothness. Even when I can’t hit 144hz in some games, G-Sync (For Nvidia Card owners) / Free-Sync (For AMD card owners) helps out a huge amount by helping to reduce screen tearing by a large amount.

Monitor/Picture quality stuff aside, the design of the monitor is really up to personal preference, I’m not a huge fan of the gamer aesthetic (red accents on the stand) but the overall design is quite pleasant to look at. My only true gripe with the monitor that I have is the built in buttons for the monitor settings. The buttons are extremely annoying to press and I found myself getting annoyed at how much time you’re given in the menu without pressing anything before it kicks you out, I believe it was around 10 seconds. The reason I’m taking a star off of the overall product is because of the buttons, is it too much to ask for something user friendly for an otherwise great monitor?

Also AOC offer a program that allows you to directly create custom profiles for the monitor that you can easily switch between while on your desktop, I definitely recommend that anyone buying this monitor search for it because it helps you avoid the bad menu buttons.

Very good quality 144hz monitor at a very good price
Picture is great and is as big as you want it for 1080p anyway. Can either have 144hz at HD in settings or 120hz at Ultra HD in settings. Has lots of ports for different things to be plugged in and can easily switch between different inputs. Speaker is alright quality. Even though it’s free sync for AMD cards, gsync is available on it as Nvidia has changed that. Colours were a bit off when I got it but we’re easily fixed by on sreen display settings. Would definitely recommend

    Really amazing colours and quality
This monitor is quality. You can shift around the stand to your liking and even rotate the screen itself. The IPS panel has some really nice colours as well.

The best monitor I’ve ever owned. People often say the brightness is an issue and I don’t understand unless you’re use to multi-thousand dollar monitors, fast delivery, jaw dropping quality.

    Good VFM monito
This is a great monitor. Although this is primarily a gaming monitor I use it mainly for watching videos, surfing the net and working from home. Picture quality is excellent and a great improvement over my previous Samsung monitor which packed up during lockdown so was looking for something reasonably priced and found this. Very happy with purchase.

Very good screens. Best with monitor bracket mounts
Perfect screens. Purchased three screens all together, just be warned they deliver them separate time. I had to wait all day. 1 at 10:00, another at 15:00 and then the last at 17:00

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersMore than Happy with i
Had a smaller 29in Ultrawide before this (LG 600) and i would highly recommend spending more to get this. the extra desktop space is something else without looking like its too narrow, which was my primary gripe with the 29, the width was great but the height was just all wrong

This monitor has good brightness and contrast, not amazing but then not 200-400 more expensive then alternatives. its response rate is perfectly fine for work and nothing to complain with games, i dont have the means to test colour output or accuracy but i would say its largely irrelevant for what i use it for, which is mostly work (excel based) and games, initial inspection suggests the green and blue is out but since you need to remove some of the blue for work anyway its fine. Compared to my 29in IPS screen which was initially calibrated until i had to reduce the brightness and blues for work, i cant see any obvious difference, for most people i would expect this to be similar.

I did need to knock down the brightness somewhat as it was giving me a headache, i reduced this to about 40
Used Gamma3 and colour temp set to user, i reduced green by about 6 points

Overdrive set to medium and reading mode set to internet, ecomode set to standard, gamemode off.

The curve which ive heard quite a few people moan about is absolutely fine if your sitting the normal distance from a monitor, in fact, id say that an 1800 at a normal distance on a desk i has a negligible effect, this 1500 is feels like a great compromise, if you were seated slightly further away and the monitor was on a wall, this might be a different story. Like wise, if this were a 3 monitor setup for surround gaming, its probably a bit too curved.

For work in particular, i find it pleasing and a dream to work with, for gaming, i find it immersive without being too fishbowl when sitting on a desk at a typical distance from the screen.

overall, i give it a big thumbs up, i would question the logic of getting the G-Sync Version unless you have something more powerful than a 1080ti, you will not be pushing 21:9 at 1440p at 144Hz unless you drop the settings, my 1060 plays most games with highish settings at about 40-60fsp, getting the 144 for me was pointless, that said, if you have a 1080 or a 2080 then yeah, go for it, but anything less than a 1070, forget it, save the cash and get a better GPU down the road that will max out the 100Hz on this

Okay, I had heard good things about this monitor but wow! I’m amazed of how crisp the image is. I have the 24″ 144hz and when it comes to gaming, it’s a new experience. This is when you don’t feel like going back to consoles.

One thing I’d like to see improved in future models is the menu buttoms, they feel a bit cheap, but the rest, although is plastic feels very well built.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGood if you like IPS screens
After looking through dozens of specs and reviews for different monitors, it seemed there was nothing good in existence, so I decided to go for this as it apparently has very accurate colour representation.

If like me you are coming to an IPS screen for the first time, and are unsure about it’s glow, then absolutely it does have a glow, and it is distracting. I came from an old TFT monitor, which had perfect viewing angles (you could see the screen fine at almost 180 degrees), however here you can see the discolouration and mist in the corners of the screen while playing or watching something dark. I find it quite distracting as it makes me want to crane my neck in an attempt to find a better angle to view that portion of the screen. I might get used to it (I’ve had the monitor about a week) but it’s not something you really want to have to deal with when upgrading from a 12 year old 60 second hand monitor, to a 160 brand new product. Also if you try look at the monitor from any angle that isn’t straight on, you’ll be looking at a murky greeny swamp, though I recognise most of the time you’re not doing that.

The colours and brightness are definitely great though. They’re very vivid, and the screen is clear and sharp (though I did have to use Windows ClearFont to make text slightly more comfortable).

A few issues: I did have some issues getting freesync to work properly with an nVidia 1660S, having to download a tool to adjust the range of freesync supported frequencies to get it working smoothly with some games. I also still have an issue where the monitor (using DisplayPort) won’t wake up from sleep without reconnecting the cable, so I’ve just settled to not having it go to sleep at all!

I must say however, that the build quality feels excellent. The stand is very nice, quality material, easily put together, sturdy without consuming much space and has adjustable height. You can easily raise or lower the screen as well as rotate it about 45 degrees while using it.

In the end, I personally don’t appreciate the vibrancy enough to make up for the glow. I’m only really keeping this screen because its bigger and 16:9 vs my previous 16:10 18″. If you worry about IPS, then don’t get one. Other screen types are not nearly as bad as people say and IPSes don’t live up to the hype. I rated it 4 star because if you do like IPS, then this is probably an excellent choice.

Great Monitor ....but no service support from AOC!
The monitor is great and a great value for the price. It has a lot of features and plenty of connectors. However, to use it properly you need some support. And from the support point of view it sucks!
For instance, I am using a Mac and the driver CD that comes with the monitor has only a PC version of the driver. Nothing for Mac. You may think; ok I’ll go to the AOC website and get one.
Wrong!! The website is not working, or non existant. Neither Safari nor Chrome can find it.
I don’t know if it is a temporary thing but it definitely does not work. Awkward!
Ah! I forgot if you want to use it with your mac you need a video type-c connector.
The monitor comes with a couple of HDMI cables. So you definitely need an adaptor to use it with the Type-C connectors of a new MacBook Pro.

    A decent budget monito
Given the dawn of the working from home era I needed a monitor for day to day use. I purchased this due to its adjustable stand which is incredibly practical. Good viewing angles, a handy usb hub (though this requires a usb a to b cable) and a reasonable height to the stand
I’m 100% satisfied with this purchase.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersQuality Monitor with excellent stand
This monitor is excellent. I don’t think there is another that can compete at this price point for gaming. The 144hz is the highlight allowing you to play games at 144fps if you computer supports it. It also supports Nvidia G-Sync for smooth gaming with no tearing or dropped frames. Basically super smooth gameplay.

The image quality is very good with good range of colours, very sharp images and detail and depth in the blacks. Looks great for movies, games, reading and coding. The 2k / 1440p resolution is perfect for this size screen.
The stand is excellent allowing height and tilt adjustment. It even supports mounting in portrait mode.
I have since replaced this with a desk arm (it supports VESA mount) to hold 2 screens to free up desk space and to have them aligned without books propping up my second screen.

Note it comes with a Displayport cable and HDMI. To get the most from this monitor definitely use the DP cable and if you only have a mini display port get a mini-dp to dp cable. The HDMI cable is only capable of about 60hz at 2k and 120hz at 1080p. DP cable can get you full 144hz at 2k.

you know whats its like, its really hard to find the right monitor, there are so many things to consider. This is the 4th monitor i have bought trying to find one i like and i can confirm this one – I LOVE IT

If you are a console gamer looking for ps4 or xbox one monitor i dont think you can find a better monitor. the picture is incredible, the best 1080p i have ever seen.

if you are a pc gamer get the AOC 27G2U or another name for the same model is theAOC 27G2. That monitor is like this one, but goes up to 144hz… If you are a console gamer you are better off getting the 27G2U5 because it is cheaper because it goes up to 75 hz only which is enough for console gaming as console is 60hz maximum

Great monitor but it's not 144hz
Lovely looking monitor with great picture quality but I would like to add that although it advertises 144hz I’m only getting 120 max on my Nvidia card so think this is should be taken with the caveat that this is ONLY achievable with AMD cards. However, I have not tested this as I do not have an AMD card so it might not even be achievable at all, I’m only assuming that’s why I’m not getting 144hz so something to think about before you buy. I would like to add that if it is the case that you can achieve the full 144hz only with an AMD card then it is extremely misleading because it doesn’t state this anywhere in the product description or provided while it does clearly say the monitor IS G-Sync compatible. so if Nvidia cards = 120hz max then I think they need to express this somewhere – these are very dubious marketing practices indeed as I bought the monitor for 144hz and nowhere is it displayed that this might not be possible.

    So let me summarize quickly:

    – Great looking
    – Great performance
    – Great quality (right out of the box)
    – Great price

x Not 144hz but 120hz – (tested only with Nvidia card).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA fantastic product for the price point hits all the right notes
Been using this display for a few months now and forgot to give a review on this product. Thankfully that gave me the time to appreciate the quality of this display it is a fantastic device the IPS display is crisp and colourful and really is value for money for a semi budget screen. When gaming at 1080p native 75hz with Vsync and Freesync on there is no problems at all and the screen is impeccable for gaming, and even when it is off it’s fantastic but it leads to a slight bit of screen tearing and slight ghosting but this is expected of a 75hz monitor if you wanted that to be eliminated I’d advise going for the 144hz model instead. The construction is sturdy and the stand is smooth to adjust. This is an ideal monitor for a gamer or editor looking to get vivid visuals and fast response times while still remaining on a budget.

This is a fantastic monitor, especially when you consider the price. I mainly use it as an extra screen for my laptop. The images and text are clear. The colours are bright and well balanced. I got this as I now have to work from home for now and far better than the monitor supplied by work. While It doesn’t do 4K on my ps4 pro the response time and supersampling makes up for it. Love using it for Warzone among others. Sound not the best but what do you expect from a monitor, i recommend surround sound headphones such as playstations own or speakers that connect direct to the ps4 (digital cable)/pc. Can’t fault the monitor at all. I love it and with 2 hdmis plus DP and VGA connection inputs it has plenty of access to plug in a PC, PS4 and more USB sockets than you could every truly need!

You will be hard pressed to find a better 24 inch 1080p 144Hz monitor at this price. The colors are amazing and the viewing angles are great as you would expect with an IPS display.
Mostly used for gaming and never going back tto anything other than 144hz.
The only negative would be the the menu for settings, etc. it’s not very well designed. Also also presets are awful so you have to tinker around to get your perfect settings but once done, you won’t be touching it ever and it’s a good tradeoff for the price.

This is an outstanding monitor. Read great reviews and it lives up to them.
When you order, make sure you add a note that it is the curved one. Amazon haven’t got the item number correct as it should have a ‘C’ at the start for curved. Amazon sent me a flat one at first and I had to return it and wait for a new one. Fortunately the second one was curved.

Its pretty obvious that all the money went on the panel. The controls are some of the worst.. awful buttons, horrible menus and like most monitors the colour is way out of wack out of the box. However, after much fiddling i have manged to get it right, it wasnt easy and i came close to leaving a bad review but for all its drawbacks, when properly set up the image is really nice. The clours seems a little over saturated to me but either i ajusted or the picture calmed down as it wore in.

You will have to fiddle and work at it but the picture quality is there.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFantastic monitor with good colours and clarity(I got the curved version)
    Pros:
Sturdy stand, height adjustment and angle adjustment
Nice black levels, good colour reproduction for media consumption
    27′ is a suitable size
Has build in speakers(don’t expect anything decent though)
    Thin bezels
    144Hz on 1440p
Comes with display port and HDMI cables
Has a headphone jack behind it
    Cons:
    Lacks monitor rotation
    No HDR
Doesn’t come with the USB cable for the USB hub so you will need to buy a separate cable if you want to use that
Brightness isn’t as high as other monitors, only 250cd, but plenty for indoor use, except when there is direct sunlight
Some response time issue but not too noticable if you turn overdrive to Strong
OSD can be hard to control at times

TLDR; Fantastic monitor, colours as accurate as my previous Samsung panel 10/10 would recommend, only downer would be the low brightness, but if it doesn’t bother you, nothing in this monitor would.

Upgraded from 11 year old Asus, which was great, but this AOC monitor is a star. What a change! Very solid build and nice. USB hub is very handy. 75hz is enough for every game. Almost frameless. Excellent colours and contrast. I can read now everything without problems. Games, movies look fantastic. Viewing angle is very good due to IPS panel. Speakers could be a wee better, but this is a downside of every monitor. Still use the speakers for watching YouTube. Headphones or Bluetooth speaker for games. The monitor is simple nice and even my wife, who is always sceptical for my purchases, says it’s nice. A masterpiece of art Highly recommended.

Decent picture quality, all the expected gaming related features, no panel defects on my unit and great hardware for a budget monitor; fully adjustable stand and four USB ports with one for quick charge. Would definitely recommend.

Superb quality monitor for the price
This is a fantastic monitor for the price. The image it produces is vibrant and crisp. The color accuracy is excellent and came well calibrated out of the box. Brightness is very high for an IPS monitor and the monitor is very responsive and extremely smooth at 144Hz refresh rate. The amount of adjustability the monitor has at this price point is another major seller and is usually reserved for higher end monitors.

I can’t recommend this monitor enough, whether your gaming or doing content creation this monitor has you covered at amazing price (180).

It came very quickly and in great condition. The display itself is amazing. Very clear with very little smudging due to the low response time. Hands down the best monitor I’ve ever had and cheaper than anything else out there. If you’re looking for a 1440p ultrawide gaming monitor and don’t have upwards of 550 at hand, this is the monitor for you.

Colours are fab, I use this monitor to play cs:go settings need adjust before playing
Colours really are brilliant in comparison to my old monitor (TN, 75hz), 144hz is really smooth for gaming. Also the monitor is very light and easy to install onto my VESA arm mount.
For CS:GO I had really bad tearing and when crouch jumping it became unplayable. HOWEVER!!
I fixed this issue buy putting “-high -tickrate 128 -freq 144″ (without the ” ‘s) into the launch options of CS:GO now it works great!
I recommend buying this especially when its selling for cheap (Bought mine for 169.99, 6 February 2020)

Golden Review Award: 147 From Our UsersA Terrific Monitor at a Great Price.
Originally I did not intend to buy this particular display but instead was looking to purchase the smaller 24″ version. However the 24G2U/BK model seemed to be out of stock with just about every supplier I checked at the time (Amazon included) and, as I was keen to get my new-build PC up and running, decided on this model. It seemed to make sense given the excellent Amazon price at the time (with free Prime delivery), the largely favourable reviews and the fact that I was getting a larger screen for relatively little extra cost.

Well I’m happy to say that deciding on this display was one of the best purchasing decisions I have made for quite a while. Now anyone with any common sense would not expect a monitor that cost around the 200 mark to be on equal footing with a monitor costing 300 or more. HOWEVER I can assure you that this monitor punches well above it’s price point.

Firstly the overall build quality is excellent. The screen unit it’s self is of a robust & high quality standard, certainly far from the cheap and ‘plasticky’ unit I was expecting. Likewise the stand is sturdy, substantial, well made and perfectly stable, more so than some of the stands I have seen supplied with other well respected monitor brands. The mount is a doddle to fit to the screen and provides enough height and tilt adjustment for any type of use, and in addition the mount provides for full 180 degree pivot should you need it. Included with my monitor was a European 2-pin power lead, a 3-pin UK power lead, a Display Port lead and a HDMI lead. These are all of good quality and is a great touch that I think shows good customer consideration.

When it comes to the all important question of picture quality this monitor certainly doesn’t fail to deliver excellent results which go way beyond what I expected for the price. The colours are rich and accurate, blacks deep & uniform and the whites crisp and clean with no hint of colour cast or muddiness. The contrast ratio is likewise excellent and, in combination with the high scan frequencies, produce a beautifully steady image that has punch and vitality. Finally being an IPS screen the viewing angle and colour rendition is a big improvement over my admittedly rather old TN display. Naturally there is always a bit of tweaking to carry out whenever a display is connected for the first time but with the unit I purchased this amounted to no more than a slight alteration to the brightness and contrast to get a truly beautiful quality image. An unexpected bonus was the fact that this monitor is Nvidia G-Sync compatible which my Nvidia graphics card recognised and configured as soon as it was connected.

Aesthetically I think that the whole unit is very pleasing to the eye. The red accents to the stand and screen look good without being garishly over the top and the incredibly thin (about 1mm) top and side bezel gives the screen a clean and elegant appearance. When the screen is up and running there is a very slight black border to the top and sides of the screen but this is only about 4mm wide so even when running the screen keeps it’s sleek spacious look. I was also happy to note that the size of the black border does not vary with the scan frequency. With some cheaper monitors I have seen the black border increase in size quite noticeably as the scan frequency is raised, but this is not he case with this monitor.

I was surprised to see that one of the reviews written here has given this display a bit of a slating but, based on my own experience, I have to disagree. One complaint was that there was a strong red colour cast that could not be tuned out and another that the scan frequency would keep dropping back to a lower setting. I have my monitor connected to a Nvidia GTX1660 Super via the Display Port input and can honestly say that I have experienced neither of these problems whatsoever, whether I’m gaming (though I’m only a casual gamer), or whether I’m using productivity software and the like.

Another complaint (in the same review) was that the monitor disconnects it’s self when switched off but again I have found this not to be the case with my purchase. I can switch off my monitor and it remains fully connected and synced to my PC as expected, there are no problems with remote connecting and any items connected to the very useful USB hub on the back of the monitor remain connected and fully functional. I can only guess that the reviewer was unlucky enough to receive a faulty unit which sounds like it should be returned for replacement or refund.

While on the subject of faults I’m glad to report that my display has no dead or stuck pixels and shows no light or dark patches or uneven brightness or colouration which can sometimes be a bit of an issue with less expensive monitors, particularly those with 27″ screens.

Now not everything in the garden is rosy and I do have a couple of criticisms but these are pretty minor and certainly not deal breakers. One is that the speakers are pretty under- whelming, something which is pretty much standard for slim-line monitors and TVs these days. For general use I have the sound coming out of the monitor via the DP port and have to say that the quality is pretty poor and is definitely on the quiet side. I would say that it’s fine for the burbles and tinkles Windows produces and for listening to the odd video stream but for anything else I find the speakers very much lacking. However, as most users will undoubtedly have speaker and/or headphone set-ups anyway I don’t see this as a big problem.

Secondly the on/off and function buttons at the bottom of the screen are small and very low profile which I find makes them fiddly to use. This is not helped by the fact that the legends for these buttons are merely engraved into the lower bezel which makes things very difficult to see. Ideally I would have liked to have seen slightly larger and higher profile buttons and to have some degree of infill to the button legends to make things less fiddly and more visible. But this is probably just me being a bit nit-picky as by now I have got pretty used to using them.

In summary I would say that overall this really is an excellent full HD monitor that represents incredible value for money, indeed, based on my own experience so far I would still be just as happy had I paid a fair amount more. I have only had my monitor for a little over a month so cannot comment on long term reliability. However I have used it pretty heavily during this time and, so far, things have been fine, hopefully this will remain the case over time. Naturally if things do take a turn for the worse then I shall update my review and rating accordingly but for now I’m more than happy to give this terrific monitor a definite 5 star rating. Would I recommend this monitor to other’s considering a purchase ? Absolutely !!

    Best regards
    Ade.

First of all, I was VERY skeptical of this monitor before buying it. I don’t believe in hype and trust actual results. This has truly surprised me and smashed my expectations. Don’t get me wrong its not perfect, but its dam good. I have tested and used many monitors and this is by far the best one I have owned.

Butter smooth visuals and instant response makes this a dream to FPS games on. 144hz with Nvidia G-sync enabled is like hyperspeed compared to my 60hz monitor. The fact that its 1080p makes it easier to push out 144fps.

I had to tweak the colour, mine was VERY green and also red. SO I have Blue on 50, green on 40 and red on 45.

Note that the colour gamut is very wide, so colours look very vivid so red can tend to look a bit pink-ish but not very much so. Compared to my Professional Dell IPS monitor this is vibrant and colours really pop.

I love that you can add a cross-air to the monitor so when sniping you dont need to zoom in, you just aim with the monitors cross-air.

Would I recommend this monitor? Yes absolutely yes.

After trying this monitor out for a day, I can already say it truly is a great monitor, especially considering the price.

I had to return a MSI MAG241C as I could not handle the ghosting that VA panel. The AOC 24G2U is 30 cheaper and performs MUCH better IMO, with Overdrive on medium/strong there is hardly any ghosting that can be observed in games or on the UFO ghosting test. The quality of the image is also quite impressive considering the low price, I hardly have any back light bleeding on my unit which was something I was worried about before purchasing as cheap IPS panels are usually bad for this. But it does require some tinkering with the brightness/contrast and colour settings to suit personal preference, mine was a bit dull out the box.

It also has a far superior stand which I really appreciate being able to raise, lower and swivel the monitor. I doubt there is any better monitor at this price point.

    Highly recommended.

Amazing monitor for the price. Have used a RTX 2060 with no issue when enabling G-sync. Colours looks great, especially being IPS. Fast response in FPS such as CS:GO. Very small bezels and footprint for stand, allowing enough space for peripherals if you have a small desk.

Only con would be the integrated speaker are very weak and can get distortion at high volume. But honestly for the price, I would argue this is one of the best in its class.

It’s very hard to find a monitor that is:

    -1080p
    -144Hz
    -GSync Compatible
    -IPS

This is exactly what I wanted in a monitor and I was prepared to pay more to get it. This being as cheap as it is is a steal! Thin bezels and there was no defects on my panel.

    Fantastic
Initial impressions after a couple of weeks, really pleased, an enormous upgrade over the old Dell IPS and BenQ TN I upgraded from.
I was concerned after reading all of the great reviews online (rockpapershotgun go into some depths on this monitor, worth reading) that the stand looked a bit tacky and GAMER for my taste but it’s actually quite nice and subtle in person – also very stable, my previous monitors would wobble a little if there was some hard typin’ going on.

    Brilliant monitor, MOST ANNOYING STAND
Love the monitor itself have no issues with it, all images move clean and the colour is great, but the stand is way to big and a terrible shape, I have to turn it the whole way to the left so that its not obstructing my mouse or my keyboard, as when normal the stand is going right under my mouse pad and its not like I dont have alot of room I have a pretty big desk.

*I paid 115 at the time as this was on ‘Limited time deal’.*

At the price paid I couldn’t be happier with the result. I was specifically after a monitor which had a flat back, was VESA cmpatible, had a low response time and had a wide viewing angle.

This is an IPS display with a very low response time and a wide viewing angle (178 degrees vertically AND horizontally).
The colours are great and if your not after the bleeding edge refresh rates like its more expensive brother (144Hz) then I would say get this monitor.

I ended up using this in an arcade cabinet as I wanted something which could be viewed at pretty much any angle with decent colour reproduction. This device does not dissapoint!

Great picture quality, great refresh rate, no backlight bleed or IPS glow. Comes with both a DP cable and HDMI cable.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersVery good first impressions!
I have just received this AOC monitor and first impressions are in the main positive however there was a bit of an oversight when ordering as it was my intention to order the most positively reviewed 144hz 24G2U but due to the my lack of attention I inadvertently ordered the 75hz 24G2U5 due in part to the closely named model numbers! It may have been a stroke of luck as my intended purpose is for playing FPS’s on consoles Ps4 Pro & One X which won’t exceed 60fps so the 75hz should be sufficient. I have little experience of gaming monitors and have being playing on a Sony (W905) a 55″ 1080p tv which has very good spec’s for gaming but had become curious as to the benefits of playing FPS’s such as PUBG on a decent monitor with improved pixel density , response time and eye scanning efficiency which you get playing on the smaller screen so having looked around I decided on the much lauded AOC G24G2U. Having unintentionally ordered the 24G2U5 I can tell you that the monitor arrived in good shape with no dead pixels and my first impressions are very positive! There does appear to be one or two differences in the osd control panel Which have prevented me from copying over some recommended settings from the 24G2U but wether this is anything to be concerned with I really couldn’t say. I’ve opted for the preset settings for FPS gaming and all seems good. Early days but I will be sure to revisit once I have a better overall view. I figured seeing as there were no reviews as yet it may be of benefit to someone.

I’m giving this an initial 5 stars just to reassure you that this monitor is as expected – 27″ flat screen with both a UK plug and European one. Also comes with a HDMI lead and a DP lead.
At the moment I have a fairly old GTX 960 PC. In the next couple of weeks I’ll be building a GTX 1660ti rig that will be a completely different beast. That will really allow me to push this monitor.
However, initial impressions – it looks like it costs twice as much as it does, screen is lovely and bright, and it does have some very basic speakers.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI Love this monitor, especially for the Price.
I bought this monitor from Amazon for 169.99 (it is now 179.99) to replace an older TN 1080p 144Hz Monitor. This monitor has a bezel which is a lot smaller than my old monitor, The bezel itself is around 2mm then the screen has a small border that is around 4mm.

The monitor sits further back on my desk due to the way the stand is, i consider this a good thing. But as I am contemplating buying a second, the stand will be going anyway as I will be getting a two arm desk mount too.

The colours and viewing angle are a lot better than on my old monitor and it came with both HDMI and DisplayPort cables. Please note that mine also came with a European power cord, which was of no use, i had to supply my own.

The menu system is very different to my old monitor, but once I got used to it I found it just as easy to access the various settings.

I have this running at 1080p @ 144Hz over DisplayPort with no issues. I have not tested the Freesync side of things as my current GPU is not capable of making use of it. That will change shortly.
