Great monitor but the stand is poorly designed and could be better but the screen quality is 10/10 and definitely worth it for its price. Also with the stand it doesn’t hold the monitor that well and I had to use tape to secure it from shaking side to side every time I lightly hit my knee on my desk. But as I said still worth it for its price.
240 Hz and with g sync works flawless.
For 200 quid brilliant.
Fantastic quality good picture I run FPS on low settings still looks good .
I do like the size and the effects the curved screen gives. My main dislike is when you first set it up you need to reed the manual. The problem is the manual is on a disk, most modern PC doesn’t take disks anymore, plus as you have connected the new screen to the computer. So you can’t use the disc without turning on the screen so the manual disc is no good.
Well packed, my daughter says she is very happy with quality for gaming and college work, lovely size for us parents to.
I’ve only been running this monitor for 24hrs but can safely say I’m very pleased with it. I picked it up at 431 which compared to others in this spec bracket seems like decent value for money. Only negative so far is the fiddly menu buttons compared to the joystick I’ve seen on other monitors – bit of a pain but not a deal breaker. Only setting I’ve changed so far is to Gamer and the colours and brightness all look great to me. I’ll tweak others when I get round to it I’m sure. I’ve seen stuff saying the brightness is average but I’ll be looking to turn it down for office based work. 3K is great. I have a 4K OLED tv – ok I can see a difference but on a smaller screen 3K is perfectly good enough. Running FS2020 and Avengers atm with Ry7/RTX3060 via DP and they look spectacular. I had concerns about getting a VA panel but I’ve picked up no visibility issues whatsoever. Don’t normally write reviews but spent so long agonising over which monitor to go for, thought I would. Curved v Flat, definitely curved. Enjoy.
After having used AOC’s 24.5 inch FHD monitor for about 2.5 years, I realised that an upgrade was due and needed especially, since I’ve been working from home since the early COVID days of 2020. I have never had a wide screen monitor but had always wanted one since I do a lot of video editing working on personal projects so a wide monitor is definitely a Plus. And when I am working my 9 – 5, I can simply connect my work laptop and close the lid and just work on 34 inch monitor since it is able to split the screen and use it as a dual monitor. I am not an Gamer so I can’t say for sure how good this monitor is for games but from the ones I played on it, I was pleased. Needless to say, if you are looking to buy your first Wide Screen Monitor without having to break bank, go for this one for this is definitely Bang for your buck.
P.S, the monitor stand takes a lot of space. Make sure you have enough space on your desk.
Brought for my son as his monitor broke. Went for a larger curved screen for him, I use a curved screen and like them. He set it up easily with HDMI but will change over to Display Port later when he gets a cable ( better option). Pleased with the display and would recommend.
Fantastic value for money, clearest quality and colours I’ve ever had. Literal game changer.
Main use is watching videos, reading documents and the occasional online game. Speakers built-in provide adequate sound. Haven’t managed to set to 240Hz through the OEM menu; curved monitor is optimal for seating position and assist in reducing eye strain, highly recommend if you spend hours staring at a scree
Great working monitor and its so smooth at 120 fps but it has a lot of power consumptio
I was surprised with the quality of the monitor, but the speakers are not too great when gaming. The buttons to control monitor settings as well are a bit difficult to press.
Would still recommend, but note the above when purchasing.
I got this monitor this week having dropped and broken the one I got before Xmas.
I decided that I would pay a bit more and go for a 144HZ option, as the previous widescreen was 75HZ and it occurred to me I wasn’t really taking advantage of the new powerful PC i built before Xmas (i could go higher res but this bothers me a lot less given where i sit and the size of screen that’s appropriate).
So this one reviewed very well and looked exactly what I needed. Pleased to say it delivers. The screen quality is very good and delivers a rich buttery smooth image.
Worth noting that there is some software you can download if you don’t have an optical drive that allow you to easily tinker with and control your image settings.
A brief gotcha for me was also finding that I was still gaming at 6HZ.. I needed to go into the Nvidia control panel and set the output for this monitor to 120HZ (not in the device manager where they just show as generic monitors). Since then it’s been perfect.
Overall I am delighted with this. A very good screen for the money and ideal for 1080P gaming.
Bought this for lads bedroom xbox as he was using a normal TV and what a difference he is really pleased with it the picture is crisp and responsive whilst he is gaming happy son happy me
Got this for my lads new gaming pc. He seems very happy with it and it’s adjustable.
V good monitor great picture znd game quality only draw back is the software bit of a pain to set up but once done grea
The screen is amazing 144hz display really gives you the upper hand especially in competitive settings, crisp image sharp cornered textured overalls amazing quality no latency, amazing value especially for something in this market brightness is dim when you initially launch it but you can turn it up or down with ease no manual needed
The Aoc 144hz monitors are superb at 1080p thin enough bezel for triple monitor for gaming. Using nvidia surround I have these running on most games. The buttons that control them are a bit fiddly but you can live with it. Plenty of usb options on that back with digital port and hdmi aswell. Best 1080p monitor at price for me which was 169 each.
My son said it is brilliant really good quality picture nicely crisp and clear and the sound is brilliant too
Have owned the monitor for 3 months as of writing this review.
The stand is awful. The long leg spikes will try to go under your mouse matt unless you angle them just right (which you will need to do to stop your mouse bumping into them in the heat of battleXD). And the OSD buttons are a clown show, but the part that counts is…
Frankly I can’t imagine any 240Hz monitor being faster or clearer for fps gaming. Even TN panels. I also can’t imagine the LMB on the 240Hz Zowies being any better for fps. I’m not an expert and have upgraded to this from a 144Hz TN panel, so my experience with various monitors is modest to say the least. But I am very good at fps games and play competitively. To my mind this is as good as a 240Hz gaming monitor can/needs to be. And being an IPS panel, movies/media looks really good too.
As far as someone commenting that it doesn’t come with a USB to USB B cable so you can’t connect the monitors USB HUB to your PC…I honestly can’t remember whether I got that cable in the box or whether I’m using the spare I had lying around. However the USB hub is super useful and the fast charge USB really is faster than PC USB charging. The speakers are there just for convenience, not for any serious listening, but they are there, unlike similar monitors from other manufacturers at higher prices.
Simply put: if the stand was a classic square/round unobtrusive foot and the monitor had a nipple at the back instead of the worst bottom mounted OSD buttons ever (though the OSD software provided by AOC does the job just fine) in my opinion this would probably be the best price/performance competitive gaming monitor in the world by a country mile.
As it stands, it is still deserving of that title, only (at least for me) not quite so emphatically…
Happy with this monitor, good value for money. Can’t notice a difference to others.
Adjustable height.
Could have a better stand with height and swivel adjustment.
I use this monitor for work(software engineer) and gaming. It’s perfect for what i need and I would recommend it for someone looking for a budget monitor.
Brilliant monitor, fast clear picture, vivid colours and no tearing, only gripe I wish it was a little brighter for gaming during the day. Brightness 8 out of 10 during the day, 10 out of 10 in low light.
This is exactly as described and amazing for the price 🙂
Got this monitor to replace a busted up, old 25 inch 60hz tv which I had been using for my ps5. Straight after booting up the ps5 with this monitor I could already see a huge difference. To say I had been missing out is an understatement. Games run smooth, picture is crisp, visually the monitor looks amazing and is extremely to set up.
Packaged really well. All wrapped up for my sons Christmas. Excellent service, fast delivery. Will be in touch if there’s any issues on Christmas Day lol. Thank you once agai
And that problem is…..
It wobbles to no end. There is soooooooo much movement in the stand it comes with that the screen wobbles back and forth if you knock your desk, a lot more than my old Auros 27″ curved ones did.
However, the rest of the monitor is excellent for the price. Get this on a good strong vesa mount and I doubt it would be an issue that it wobbles.
As the title suggests this review is using it purely as a television plugged into a Nvidia Shield, its becoming increasing difficult to buy a Small bedroom television….thats where this monitor comes into play.
Love the “hdr effect” setting makes setting contrast a lot easier.
Brightness is very high out of the box but once tamed the blacks are actually black.
Picture quality in 1080 at 24/50/60hz is gorgeous.
Had a quick blast of GTA 5….. very impressed at how smooth it was but im no “gamer”
No speakers, thats not a problem its actually a strength…. all speakers in all screens these days have to be small and slim leaving them to sound pathetic and lifeless buuut this monitor has a 3.5 mm jack so i plugged it into a small 2.1 computer speaker set (20 quid ish)
Panel is very slim and with the bezels barely visible while viewing
Stand is Metal finished with plastic making it very sturdy, its height adjustable (very tall if needed) and rotates left to right.
Verdict, buying an “old spec’d” gaming monitor to use as a tele is a stroke of genius. Muuuuuch cheaper than an actual tele.
Really nice monitor does what I need for a great price however was disappointed when unboxing the monitor to find out they wasn’t an English plug included and had to buy a new cable with a British plug
I use it for office work and for visit creation and motion graphics and having such a wide screen means I can see so much of the time line and preset panels. Is a joy to use
Superb, great picture quality, but came with a european power lead not a UK one. Apart from that all good
Pros:
– great for gaming
– works well with PS5
– works well as secondary display (haven’t tried on MacOS or Windows 11 yet)
– many ports (can’t remember exactly how many) for USB, HDMI, 1 Display port, more than sufficient for me
– brightness controls. I have sensitive eyes so I prefer lower brightness levels. Gets very bright too, when I game with friends, they always complement how bright it could go
Con:
– no volume controls that I have discovered. Have to manually change using my laptop or PS5
I run an esports event venue, and we were looking to upgrade our old 22″ monitors and after lots of research settled on the AOC 27″ 144mhz IPS Panel.
Straight out of the box these look and feel really good monitors, slimline bezels. You can either use the included stand or using the VESA connections attach the monitor to a monitor arm, we’ve done both but teaming up the monitor with a good arm is definitely the way to go.
Performance: They are super responsive, we’ve connected them using the included Display Port cable (HDMI cable also included) so we have full 144mhz 1080p graphics, i could well believe the 1ms response time and colours are vivid and smooth with both Freesync and Gsync compatibility (gsync monitors are usually more expensive)
Bonus: These monitors include a USB powered hub, so add an extra USB cable back to the computer and then plug your peripherals directly into the back of the monitor.
There are lots of configuration tools that you can download to help switch between gaming styles and profiles, as well as a cheeky little cross-hair you can turn on to give you an advantage in FPS games.
These are not the best monitors on the market, but for most people they are going to be a really solid budget friendly option, with good specifications and solid performance. We liked them so much we bought 12, and will probably be buying a few more in a couple of months time.
Very great monitor recommend to buy but try get 24 inch 27 might be too big.
Well made bit of kit only down side is were they got the buttons under the unit hard to make out untill you get used to it apart from that very good for the money
This is something my son asked for his birthday – he had researched the monitor. He is absolutely delighted with the size and picture quality.
Reliable Compact Stand, great if your working with limited Desk Space
My son bought this for gaming and movies. He has no complain since he change his old one to this.
Bought 3 of these for my setup and the first one came with a dead pixel in the centre of the screen contacted support and they said it wasn’t enough to get a replacement but the other 2 are perfect, only issue I have with the monitors is they are terrible for dark scenes of either games or film, without hdr it’s almost impossible to see when in a dark area
The monitor is easy to set up. I use it both for work and gaming. I am even considering getting a second one
Bought for my sons birthday to replace another monitor that was only 75hz, he’s really impressed with this one and the larger screen was a bonus. Great for gaming as it has a really fast refresh rate too, setup was simple and stand is well made and not flimsy. The screen also moves up and down as well as tilting which was really good for fitting into the desk. The only problem is he would like to replace his 144hz monitor with another one of these and that costs me money lol.
This is amazing, feels smooth, no dead pixels. Perfect for myself, would highly recommend.
My son uses this all the time. He is delighted with it. The picture quality and the gaming speed are excellent.
I got it for a 150 pounds and it was one of the best deals! I used to game on my ps5 and programming. Very nice and smooth display! For anyone wondering, ps5 120hz is working. You must go to ps5 system settings and turn on performance mode, after if you go, in my case, into Cold War, you will see that 120hz in settings will be locked but enabled! which means it is on. I also thought getting 1080p in 2021 is a bad idea but turn out to be one of the best!
I’ve had the monitor for almost a week now and it’s absolutely amazing no complaints at all
It’s a pretty good cheap monitor that supports 240 hz but the speakers are not that great. I have seperate speakers so it’s alrigh
Bought 2 of these now, my son loved the first one, and wanted another for his gaming pc. Good quality picture and value for money.
Bought this 27″ 1080p to replace a 22″ and the difference is a joy. The picture quality is excellent but it needs a bit of time to set up the overall colour preferences as the presets for gaming etc are absolute rubbish and shouldn’t be used. The downside is the terrible positioning of the control buttons though as they are awkward and fiddly to use. However I downloaded the AOC G-menu utility from their site which gives you a graphical GUI on Windows and simplifies it all. Not tried the freesync/gsync as the graphics card is a GTX 960 and not capable and I also set the refresh rate to 60Hz as well. I do plan on upgrading the GPU sometime but I think they are with the unicorns at the moment so this monitor will at least be ready and capable for 144hz and Freesync/Gsync.
It feels and looks more expensive than it is. Out of all the gaming monitors I’ve looked at at around this price range this one had the most positives so I went with it. I feel like any negative reviews this has got is uncalled for in my opinion.
It’s heavy but also light at the same time. It gives me confidence that it’s well made. I love the tilt motion too. I haven’t tried the full then yet as I don’t need that. It’s stand is long so I’m looking up but I’m not sitting on a computer chair yet so I think it won’t be as bad when I get that. I don’t mind anyways as it’s so nice. It has clear picture and shows all the colours perfectly. I thought by previous monitor was HD enough and didn’t need changing but this monitor showed it up.
The only reason I bought A new monitor was because I was using a small tv that was hurting my eyes. I couldn’t game longer than an hour. This monitor is so far okay on my eyes, and it has blue light options and you can change it to suit whatever you’re doing. It also has game mode as you’d suspect for a gaming monitor.
Someone mentioned that it’s quiet and it’s quiet as in you can’t turn it up higher than what it is. But for me it’s loud enough. Perfect amount. Only time I would want it higher is if maybe I was listening to music while I was cleaning my room or something but I have speakers for that. And if you’re buying a gaming monitor you most likely are a gamer enough to use headphones.
What’s also nice is that when you turn off your pc, the monitor will also turn off automatically with it.
I will definitely be recommending this monitor to others and if I decide to get two monitors I’ll just re buy this one 🙂
Bought one of these and was so impressed, I bought another!
Great displays with good IPS panels, high refresh rates and good connectivity. Brilliant for gaming unless you’re really hardcore in which case you may want an even higher refresh rate, but perfect for my needs. Used alongside the Radeon Freesync, the movement is buttery smooth when paired with a 5700XT and the 1080p resolution is bang on for the 24″ size when paired with that card. Oh, and the crosshair is a cool feature too!!
I did have some issues with the monitors flickering, seemingly randomly, when watching YouTube and web browsing, but that was fixed by disabling the hardware acceleration in Google Chrome. Phew! Monitors not at fault!
Only downsides for me – and hence the four stars – (apart from the fact they’re now somewhat cheaper than when I purchased!) are the control/menu buttons as I find them quite fiddly to use on the underside of the bezel. However, once set up, I haven’t had to use these really so not the end of the world.
Great value screen – highly recommended.
The OSD controls are quite bad and the in-built speaker max volume is low and quite tinny, but those are things I already knew about this monitor prior to buying. Another downside is that the monitor display goes on standby until my computer reaches the login screen, meaning it can be quite a challenge to get the the BIOS/BOOT menus. Something that I use very regularly as I dual-boot Linux and Windows on my machine.
Beyond those complaints the monitor is performing as expected. No dead pixels, no backlight bleed, colours are fantastic, and my games have never felt smoother.
I bought this monitor on sale for 160, and so far it is worth every penny. I’ll update this review if things change.
The height adjuster and the built-in speakers play such a role here. Definitely worth every pennie!
The 4k monitor I bought looks great. Both the picture quality and the actual product itself. AOC offers a great product and meets a need if you aren’t able to spend a lot on a monitor. Despite having a low price tag the quality you’ll receive is pretty impressive.
This monitor does alright for my gaming needs but admittedly I am playing casual games and not the fast paced FPSs that people go nuts over frame rates and refresh rates etc.
Decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my TN 144hz panel after reading that the colours we’re much better and i wasn’t dissapointed paid 200 pounds for my TN panel and this monitor is 150 pounds! if your looking for a top notch gaming monitor look no further great bargain for the price it was also very quick to get the settings right.
Contrast: 50
Brightness: 100
Eco Mode: Standard
Gamma: 3
Color Temp User: 50:50:50
Overdrive: Strong
Our 14yr old has been using for almost a month now. Great pic quality, stylish, fast. Very impressed with design too.
I had a pair of Dell Ultrasharp monitors which needed replacing. These tick all the boxes (and I have no negatives to say):
* IPS panels, so excellent viewing angles (which is important to me, as I like to rotate one when working on long documents). They also have really rich colours (better image quality than the decent Dell Ultrasharp monitors they replaced).
* Adjustable stands which can cope with tilt, rotation, and height adjustments
* Built in powered USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub
* Freesync but also works with my RTX 3060
* 144 Hz and 1ms for buttery smooth high FPS gameplay
* Minimal bezels, so not only do they look good, but take up minimal desk space for the size
If you’re looking for a 1080p monitor (whether gaming or not), I’d go for these.
For the price (I bought it at 160) this monitor is surely fantastic with very well balanced colours, more than appropriate brightness and of course great refresh rate. The adjustable stand is great and the number of ports and connections options is perfect for most people.
But with a 1920X1080 on a 27″ screen the individual pixels are beginning to be visible if one sits to close to it.
If you have the budget and a graphic card that can push high frame rates at higher resolutions possibly consider other options but for what I paid this has passed my expectations and I am happy to give it 5 stars
Great price and easy to set-up. Also included the digital panel connector cable, which I was very surprised and pleased to find out!
Unless you’re a tech review channel or have lods of exposure to the tip top cutting edge of display technology i can guaruntee that this monitor will be Perfect !
As someone recently upgrading from 1080p monitors i wanted to get something good quality for a good price.
Researching, i got very caught up in the tiny details of “backlight bleeding and *PC karton* nanobits of electro-techno-fancy stuff”
For real, it works , it looks beautiful , it Has plenty of adjustability and i can assure you it’ll satisfy your widescreen , 1440p 144hz needs in every way. Just make sure your desk is wide enough 😉 it’s got some impressive girth
Works with my rtx 3060 setup, a great monitor for budget users who want a quality 27″ screen with height, tilt and portrait adjustment options.
My only gripe is that there’s a slight smearing (image ghosting) when playing FFXIV, or action games (e.g. Monster Hunter World) even in high Overdrive mode with max game settings; but then it might also be the games’ graphic design to help reduce framedrops or something.
Would I’ve considered the 24″ version instead, then upgrade to 2 monitors later? Maybe, but for the time being, it was a very suitable choice for me.
Great for gaming on board speakers aren’t very good but I bought it for use with a sound bar for solo play anyway and use Bluetooth headset for playing with others so no problems
Bought for my 13year old grandson who is very much into gaming. He is thrilled and totally impressed that grandma actually knew enough to buy this particular gaming monitor!
Bought for my 13year old grandson who is very much into gaming. He is thrilled and totally impressed that grandma actually knew enough to buy this particular gaming monitor!
Used this screen as the main monitor for gaming. Wide screen is great, curved makes it stylish and great for viewing when looking around in games.
Really good graphics and can reach up to 120 fps.
Very happy.
So just got this out of the box and plugged in. It looks incredible! Check out my picture of the set up. I’m going to wall mount it eventually but stand will do for now. This is a 34 inch ultrawide curved screen for less than 400. There are more expensive options out there. This comes with usb ports (not using them) , 2x hdmi and a display port. Comes with both an HDMI and display port cable. Will review again in a couple of weeks but so far looks great!
I love it, have no negatives to report.
I came from a 32″ 4K to this and glad i did. G-Sync works a treat and picture quality is stunning, the only issue i have is that i waited so long to switch to ultra wide.
Dis appointed when I turn on my pc black line show on my scree
I’ve had a few monitors ranging from 60Hz to 75Hz to 120Hz. This model is really good at 250Hz. It can take anything you can throw at it whether that’s gaming, applications for business or general use. You’ll need a decent graphics card and I use the AMD Radeon RX580 8GB OC version so running at 1080p X 1920 delivers a decent picture in Windows 10. I found that the actual speed of my PC increases over lower refresh rates. Definitely good value for money.
Very good monitor, speakers are very quiet and dull but don’t use them for anything but music while i study, overall colour accuracy is extremely good refresh rate is adequate and response time honestly makes the biggest difference in games
I was o worryed that monitor will be broken, but it’s all good i could get all 240Hz
Absolute cracking screen, coming from a monitor that wasn’t as sharp, this monitor really does set the benchmark.
Arrived a few days ago, seems great so far, feels like good quality, responsive, no dead pixels or anything.
There are only two minor disappointments so far:
– The audio quality of the speaker is very bad, so don’t plan to use it even for just watching youtube
– It does not come with a cable for the USB hub
Neither of these are problems with the core functionality but they’re worth keeping in mind.
Has a casting option, for available video services (works with my 2017 LGTV)
Beautiful and sturdy product
When moving windows around the screen, device tries to auto-expand the selected window to full screen (which is annoying)
This really is the best 144hz for the price at the moment. I could write a huge long review of how well the panel works or the colours, but you can see that on YouTube with actual scientific tests.
From a user standpoint, I enjoyed the first so much I ordered a second to go dual screen and then a third 27″ 1440p version for simracing (I wish I’d picked the curved now, but that’s only because they’re so cool).
Well worth it for PC gaming and I assume for the new consoles that can hit 120fps
I needed to upgrade an old AOC hd ready monitor 32″ as remote signals would not change inputs.
First think of what needs connecting via cables and having enough.
Plenty of ports for my needs as using the mini hdmi one for use with pc.
Hdmi cable plugged in and awaiting another source.
Usb extension cable is in use as can power mobile phones for recharging.
Not used for gaming but like you tube videos.
Trying to get used to a smaller screen but it is sharper and i think a very good buy and now see its cheaper.
Although there are some negative reviews for this monitor, I have absolutely no issue with it at all.
I was looking for something big and boy, did I find it. Although it looks quite small in the second picture, it’s just on a massive desk!! It’s amazing and exactly what I was after. Yes, there are better monitors out there but for the price of this one, and for the size of it, I think it’s a great item.
The picture quality is spot on. The room I have it in is quite bright and the sun comes directly in the window for quite a lot of the day but this hasn’t been a problem for me at all. Maybe in the winter when the sun is lower but I live in Scotland and it’s pretty much dark all the time from November – February 🙂
Not had lots of experience with gaming on it yet but what I’ve seen, the quality is great. I’ve got quite a powerful PC and in extreme high quality settings, the screen doesn’t disappoint.
Would 100% recommend it to anyone reading this!!
have noticed a few areas around the bezel where light appears to leak … will keep an eye on.
otherwise performs will, no dead pixels yet!
Son is very happy with purchase! Gaming monitor that ticks all the boxes and got a good price in prime day sale.
I needed a good quality monitor I could use to extend my laptop view which could be turned portrait, rather than landscape. This is ideal and comes with all the connection leads.
One of my primary requirements was for built in speakers, which the title and description clearly state this monitor has (C27G2ZU). There are no built in speakers only an earphone or audio out socket. Amazon kindly funded a small set of desktop speakers, so well done to customer services for this.
Working from home I needed a second monitor, opted to move my old but capable Iiyama X2377HDS to my work laptop and buy a new monitor for my personal desktop. I like to style of the curved monitors, after rejecting the idea of curved TVs as not suitable for family viewing, as this was for single person / viewing angle use.
I’m not a gamer so just need a simple screen with a decent quality flicker free image and speakers, a second HDMI input was required also as this is where our CCTV feed comes to.
The AOC monitor was well packed and even included instruction for unpacking to reduce the risk of damage.
Easily connected with the usual power supply (both euro and uk plugs), HDMI and DS leads included, with a cable tidy slot on the stand. The stand is metal and very sturdy and comes with vertical and tilt adjustment, so no more standing the monitor on a box or reams of A4.
Picture quality suits my simple needs and ancient graphics card, set @1920×1080 but 144hz instead of the previous monitor’s 60hz.
Best monitor ever owned. The only slight downside is there is some light bleeding on the bottom left corner but you only ever notice it if your purposely looking for it.
2 of these bad boys and my system is running sweet, ultra fast response, only down side is that lower resolution , moving from a 27″ 4K monitor to this was an adjustment especially for photo editing. Sound quality from built in speakers is poor but I didn’t expect sudiphole quality, same as an average small flat tv.
Overall it is pretty decent. I can’t get 166Hz like advertised (maybe I am missing something IDK) but 144 is pretty decent anyway so I am not bothered. Additionally it came a week ealy which was pretty sweet. I currently have a dual monitor setup with these monitors and seems to work pretty well. Recommended +1
If you are looking for a very well priced 27 inch FHD monitor, let it be the 27G2U! I’ve owned it for about 8 months now and it’s been stellar!!
Great for gaming, never moves from 144hz and solid performer! Minimal glow, barely any ghosting.
Although I would say, if you have a bit of extra cash then go for QHD instead since 27 inches is really pushing it for FHD resolution.
I have now ordered the AOC CQ27G2U 1440p 144hz to use as my primary and this one will become a secondary display.
Brilliant monitor. If your using it to play consoles like the switch you can change the aspect ratio under the last panel for options!
Using for gaming with PS5 and Laptop, works great and great quality and good sound for the price
Simply the best gaming monitor I’ve used, period.
I use it for xbox one and since I switched over from the Tv I’ve seen a MASSIVE difference not only in the visuals but the performance too.
This is screen is just great. This is the second one I buy and it’s a very good product. IPS panel provides very good contrast between colours and for people like me that use the screen to work and play videogames (consolle) it’s still the best flat screen you can get! Only drawback is a bit of backlight at the bottom left corner but not a main concern.
Bought this product for work and for gaming. With its resolution of 3340x1440p I am using a 3600x CPU and 5700xt gpu. There is a slight problem I am having. When I play on the max resolution I feel this slight drift when turning left or right. It may be due to the dp link cable, I’ve order a 1.4 dp.cable to see if this is the case or if it is in fact my gpu that cannot keep up with the resolution. Either way a great monitor. Bright and sharp enough and at 34 inches 21:9 it just looks fantastic! Great value at 450gbp.
Out of the box this is an impressive piece of kit and the tilt and rise on the stand are really useful and easy to use. I am not a technophobe and purchased this curved Wide Screen 34 inch monitor for my son who doesnt play highend useage PC games and mainly plays STEAM transport games online and does Google,Youtube, twitter etc. and this monitor was replacing a HD TV.
I was a little worried as the Ryzen 5 CPU and NVidia GEForce 1050Gti in the PC are not really high end and there were reviews in general on monitors liek this one requiring high end cards. However, it was easy to find a suitable resolution which is not maxing out either the card or the screen but nevertheless is so much better than the HD TV and allows for an update of the card down the line should it be necessary; future proofing to a degree. I have knocked off a star because apart from instructions to remove the unit from the box there is nothing else only a CD. I am old school and prefer written manuals even though I tend not to read them 🙂
If you are looking at this monitor I dont think you will be dissappointed……….
I’ve been sceptical about curved ultra widescreen monitors (having never used one before) but rather than have two monitors on my desk I wanted one monitor and the ultra works great for work and play. Colours are great and the black level is really good. No bright spots with the backlight. Games, such as racing and RPG, are a different experience in ultra – can’t go back to a narrow screen anymore. The curved screen works great. I always play at 60hz and don’t need anything higher for stable frame rate on my 1080ti. Previously had a 144hz monitor but never used it above 60hz.
Brilliant value for money and a quality monitor.
Amazing. I was debating whether to buy this monitor because of all the negative comments on this product. But that’s just everyone’s personal opinions, so I decided to buy it anyway and to my surprise fantastic quality very easy to setup and the quality in my games like Battlefield 4,1,5 and others on a 34inch monitor is fantastic.
Looks good, quality so good, gaming is so much better and for the price you couldn’t ask for more.
Really nice high quality item? Looks stunning with my Xbox series x. Highly recommend
I really enjoy using this monitor, it provides nice, clear sharp images with beautiful vivid colours. It has really good ergonomics allowing me to easily pivot swivel and tilt the monitor to my desired viewing angle. It comes with everything I need including a HDMI and a Display port.
I really like the value of this product, I felt it was a reasonable price for a good quality 144hz monitor. It does a really good job on the UFO test and has no dead pixels however, my monitor did have a lot of backlight bleed, which was disappointing to see.
Overall, it performs well meeting the expectations of a 144hz 1080p monitor. The setting can easily be adjusted for colour sensitive work and has a good resonance time as well as clarity for gaming. The back light bleed on my monitor was the only disappointing factor but I’ve enjoyed using this monitor nonetheless.
Hope you found my review helpful.
Upgraded from a 75hz monitor so can definitely feel the upgrade when playing on a PS5 with a game that supports 120fps, which I can confirm works perfectly well whilst using the HDMI that comes with the console.
Picture quality feels nice, crisp and responsive. There’s a few colour settings in the menu so you should be able to find your ideal with some tweaking.
Menu settings aren’t too difficult to go through but not the best, the buttons at the bottom of the screen are so small that someone with bigger fingers might find it a bit fiddly. They probably should have made them normal larger buttons.
There are speakers on the back which are better than I thought they would be, but they sound quite hollow. I game with separate a headset anyway but the speakers are OK for short usage. If you want to watch a movie or listen to music, then would recommend external speakers.
For gaming (mainly CoD for me), it is very good so far. When you load up a game that supports 120fps then the monitor automatically switches over to higher refresh mode. There is also a built in crosshair option which may be helpful for some but I find it quite ugly.
The built-in USB hub on the back is very useful for plugging in speakers or charging things.
Overall, a great monitor for the price. Only used for a few days but so far I can very much recommend for the semi serious gamer.
I have used this monitor for work – I need high resolution for looking at architectural and technical drawings, and increasingly for videos. It’s not perfect, but its extremely good. Considering the price it’s a bargain.
