Our puppy is now 7 months old but the carpets are a mess. Ordered the BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro – very easy to assemble and straightaway deep cleaned the worst areas. The waste water was black and disgusting and left the carpets looking literally spotless with no more smells. Couldn’t have been easier – even for a man!

    Thoroughly recommended – 5*

As home carpet cleaners go this is not bad . I liked the improvement in the fact that there is now a carrying handle which there wan’t on my older model. Suction is good. The “deep cleaning” mode simply seems to mean that more solution is splashed onto the carpet!! I also like the way the hand tool is now separate and can be added when required and not permanently dangling off the machine. It seems to do a reasonable job of cleaning. One thing I have noticed though is that if you have finished and leave it on the newly cleaned carpet, somehow it drips dirty water (probably from the brushes) onto the carpet where it is place. So I now always remove it and clean it all.

The cleaner is very well made and doesn’t look or feel cheap. It performs very well and was impressed by its cleaning power I’ve had a carpet cleaner previously but this is far superior The tools are good and work well the only negative I can say is it’s a bit noisy especially when you are using the tools as the cleaning brushes still rotate.

As with all these things you have an expectation, this machine was above and beyond ours.
    Quick, easy to use.
We used the deep clean function, brilliant job, very efficient, really brings up the dirt and the pile of the carpet.
Had a tea stain on the bedroom carpet, was contemplating having to buy new, 2nd time of cleaning, stain gone.

My carpets are old and were well used , I was contemplating replacing them but thought I would lose nothing by trying to deep clean them . Am I glad I did ! My stair carpet has been restored to its original sea blue and my cream bedroom carpets are no longer a grubby beige but almost back to the original bright colour . The softness has returned and are again a pleasure to walk on. The machine is easy to use , although on a max wash it does need refilling a lot but small price to pay for excellent results. I am so glad I bought this item and would recommend to anyone.

Bought the pet pro to clean carpets my Newfoundland dog likes to cover in hair and whatever else gets carried in, first time I used it gave the carpet a through vacuuming, using the deep clean setting I was amazed at the amount of hair the pet pro picked up , carpet looked like new . Cleaned a rug that turned out brilliant. Found it easy to strip down and clean. Thanks Bissell

Works better than I had hoped. I have 2 dogs and rugs.one deep clean and the difference is obvious. One problem though..the user manual was missing.so I downloaded one from the Bissel website. I found that I got better results when I went over the rug more times.just sucking up liquid. I had no idea there were so many dogs hairs deep within the pile of the rugs. Used the box it came in to lay the damp rug over it after the deep clean.rugs were dry overnight.

I’m so happy with this! We get a lot of stains and marks on the carpets with dogs and an elderly bladder. Easy to put together. Feels solid. So easy to use. I’ve done all the carpets in the house, a mattress, the sofa and recliners, and a couple of dining room chairs. (I haven’t tackled the stairs yet.) The dining room chair seats were not so easy to clean without water and cleaning fluid spraying on the wood work, but I persevered! It takes time to clean it but I love that you can take it apart to get at the fluff and hair. Very happy with this machine so far!

Already have a Spotclean pro & bought this for larger carpet areas. Cleans brilliantly, it is certainly not lightweight as advertised, but as its not used everyday its not too bad. Container is large enough to not need too many refills & suction is really strong, leaving carpets just damp. Have not used the tools as i use my Spotclean for upholstery & small areas. The one important thing that i would point out is that if you can afford the extra, its worth getting the pet version, even if you don’t have pets. It is so much easier to clean, as the 2 covers come off of the nozzle area & you can get in to the brushes easily and give it a thorough clean in much less time, unlike the other version that is really hard to get into & clean properly.

I have cleaned two rooms up to now and very pleased with the results. If time is taken to remove as much solution as possible the carpets dry quickly. Cannot comment on stairs as I live in a bungalow. The machine is easy to use but as it is a good size to make it easier to use you do have to refill and empty the tanks a few times, no hardship doing that.

Bought many carpet cleaners over the years and this is the best I’ve had so far, the ‘dry in 30mins is marketing nonense’ especially on the max clean, but it’s dry the following day which is good enough. The real selling point is it really does clean well! One pass and you can see a major difference instantly, other bonuses are it’s fairly lightweight, smaller than most but still has a good size clean & dirty tank. Most bits come away well for cleaning and everything ticks away well after use.

    Good all rounde

I have 2 large dogs and cream carpets, this has cleaned them fantastically and is so easy to use. It way out does my previous 350 rug doctor. Only downside is on a deep clean it used the water pretty quickly however in my opinion that’s well worth the quality of cleaning that it outputs too. The stair tool could be a bit more robust and wider but still does the job. Would 100% recommend this product.

Very pleased with this cleaner. Instructions not brilliant but you become used to it with practice. It is quite heavy which I do not feel is a minus as it is therefore more robust and sturdy. I hope. It is worth paying the extra for this model in my opinion.

I bought this and it’s amazing, not only removed dirt but removed odours.Well worth the price. Its a little heavy but pushes easily, easy to remove dirty and clean cylinders to fill and empty. In all very pleased with this machine.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchased this to replace a Vax machine that I bought in October and had no end of problems with. My carpets looked relatively clean but I am allergic to dust mites so I like to wash them every two months or so. I started in my daughters room. She has a light grey carpet which has had a hammering. Even though I washed it with the Vax there were still some stains. I used the Bissell with a deep clean solution and the oxygen booster. The machine is of better quality than the Vax however, it is a lot heavier. This is a good thing though as the suction was so much better. I used half the solution I would have used in the Vax and I can’t believe the difference. The carpet washer managed to remove stains that had been there a while. The carpets were left a lot drier than I expected too. I am so impressed this is a lot faster and easier to use. I highly recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDeliberated for a long time over carpet cleaners and very pleased with this one. Very easy to put together and take apart to clean the various parts. Utterly gross seeing what exactly is being cleaned from seemingly clean carpets and rugs! Easy to use the attachment for stairs and dried within 30 minutes, no problem. So pleased I will be using this every month now. Refreshed the carpet pile on high traffic areas, decent sample bottles included and large water tanks to cover a large area. Excellent. Very sturdy, easy to move and long cable. Great to have the option to split payments too.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWith 3 dogs and living rurally, our carpets get gross, as you can see from the first photo. They walk in mud, they moult constantly, and as we have an open plan living area, we get a lot of people traipsing through the lounge too.

I bought this carpet cleaner in 2019 as our carpets were looking really dingy. The cleaner made the carpet look brand new again but I was worried it would be put away and when it came to use it again, I’d be disappointed. That wasn’t the case at all! I tend to do the carpets every 3-4 months and it makes such a huge difference!

I’ve also cleaned my car upholstery and carpets several times using the attachments and was really impressed with that too, even though it was a little bulky/heavy to carry outside the hose is long enough to get around the car easily.

I really wish the clean and dirty water holders were bigger as our lounge takes about 20+ changes of water and maybe 12 empties of dirty water. But hey, it’s good for getting my steps in whilst I’m back and forth to the kitchen!

I’ve already recommended a few people buy the cleaner and they have been just as impressed as we have been!

3 dogs and still happy 2 years later!

The machine is extremely easy to use.It came with very easy instructions and three bottles of
different cleaning solutions. It is quite heavy when it is full but still very easy to push. You
Just hold the trigger to release the water and pull back to remove the dirty water.
I also did the stair carpet with the attachment which was equally good.I couldn’t
believe the colour of the water!!!
The only downside I could find was cleaning the front cover, the tool provided didn’t
quite get to the parts that it needed to reach.
Overall it has already paid for itself so I am more than happy with i

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have lots of pets. This machine was easy to assemble and much lighter and easier to use/clean out than my ancient one which it replaced. It easily cleaned stubborn stains from my dogs and cats. Carpets smell and look much cleaner after just one cleaning. Only drawback – have to fill/empty tanks quicker than expected. Overall very pleased with results.

Cleaning appliances take a *serious* hammering in our house, so far this cleaner is holding up well.
Unlike the Vax machines I’ve had previously, it doesn’t destroy the pile of loop carpets, and it’s far easier to clean – a big consideration if you are cleaning up after pets or (like us) have an adult in the house with continence issues.
It does feel quite flimsy and some of the plastics are quite thin, but don’t let that put you off – it’s by far the best cleaner we’ve had (and we’ve worn out several!)

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe purchased the Bissel cleaner to do jobs around the bungalow.
Carpets in bedrooms. Material covered chairs and mats.
Firstly on opening the box the machine was straight foreword to put together just 1 screw to attach the handle and a back handle.
    Straight forward.
A decent 3.7 ltr top fill tank to fill to an express level or higher up deep/max clean. A measuring jug to add your choice of liquid.
3 testers came with the machine so it’s basically ready to use straight away.
3 different brush attachments also came with a storage bag and a decent amount of flexihose to get straight to the job.
Is it a powerful machine? Yes.
Does it come with all attachments you would ever need? Yes.
Easy to strip and clean and a super cleaning product.
    + 6 years warranty.
    – it is a little noisy
    Hence 5 star quality machine.

The cleaner did an amazing job on our cream bedroom carpets. Haven’t used it anywhere else yet but strangely looking forward to it. The only thing is that the cover over the rollers doesn’t come apart so when fluff gets in between the clear plastic it hard to get out. There is a tool to get it out but not ideal. But very happy otherwise.

Easy to assemble and simple to use. The economy setting works really well taking tea stains straight out of my parents carpet. It cleaned quickly, easily and effectively and I couldn’t believe the outcome, the carpets smelled fresh and looked nearly new! I used it on the stairs with the hose attachment and it’s great! Easy to attach the hose and the hose reached half way up the staircase, I put the cleaner to the top of the stairs to finish the rest and there was plenty of slack in the hose, worked brilliantly! This is the third carpet cleaner I’ve owned and this is definitely the best. It is a little heavy and my hand ached using the trigger and pushing over a period of time, but that’s because I did quite a few rooms at once!!

Wow. So I had a vax carpet washer and it cleaned the carpets fine but the brushes and nozzle got all clagged up with dirty pet hair and there was no way of cleaning it except to take the whole thing apart with a screwdriver. Which made it a massive pain and eventually I lost too many screws and the belt snapped and while it would have been an option to replace them I had had enough and decided to treat myself to this Bissel. It’s only arrived today but I’ve done my living room and not only did it clean the carpet better than the vax but afterwards I was able to take off the nozzle and the brush cover in a couple of seconds, rinse them off under the tap and using the little tool and put it all back together in a few minutes. Money well spent!

Got this today and tried it out. Have to say I’m amazed at the results. I’ve used vax in the past which I didn’t rate at all but this machine has made my year old, very light grey carpet look new. I think using warm water makes a difference compared to previous machines. My only slight gripe is the carpet is a bit more wet than I expected but it’s a warm day. I’m so pleased with the results , great purchase and highly recommended.

Read loads of reviews on this carpet cleaner and it was more than I wanted to spend.
I’m not disappointed and it was worth the extra money. Does a great job of cleaning and the water in the dirty water container is black from years of the carpets not beig cleaned. The carpets are left really clean.
As other people have said, you do have to regularly fill up the clean water and empty the dirty water, which can be annoying; but you get in to rhythm of it after the first few times.
I had also drastically underestimated the time a room would take to clean, it’s at least 10 times the length it would take to hoover, if not longer, as you have to go over each area 4 times.

I had a ten year old Bissell Proheat that finally gave up the Ghost. Stayed with Bissell mainly because reviews gave little to choose between the top models and I had 50 worth of solution left over. This model is great, cleans much better than my old Bissell. Only negative for me is that it’s VERY noisy.

  31. Anonymous says:

Wanted a fairly lightweight, effective carpet cleaner. Having checked out several different brands decided to go for the ProHeat 2X Revolution. Having used it on several carpets now I am really satisfied with the way it has cleaned them – particularly on carpets in high traffic areas. The compact size of the clean and dirty water containers makes it easy to use. Great suction power means the carpet surfaces dry out relatively quickly. Brush rollers and the front nozzle section are a bit fiddly to clean out, but can be done with a little patience.

I don’t a lot of research and so pleased with the results. I have 2 dogs so needed the carpets refreshed and smelling nice. It certainly done the job!! I had saved to get my house fully cleaned. 2 days later my sisters dog went on heat. She is 4 and I thought she was spayed. My sister died so I took this little dog in and as much as I now love her, I didn’t think anything could clean up my light grey carpets. This machine has cleaned my home better than the cleaning company. My house is now clean from top to bottom. This is a miracle machine and the cleaning fluid has a beautiful smell. The best thing is, I got this for a bargain price and now don’t have to worry about my pet having accidents. (Thankyou to the seller) If you are a doubting Thomas like me I would honestly give it a try. I won’t be going back to other machines and yes, it really does dry in 30 minutes. I love it!

Having read some negative reviews of this I was in two minds. My fears were laid to rest when it arrived. Setting it up is a cinch and within minutes I was deep cleaning years of accumulated pet stinks and general dirt from my carpets. The water sprays out when you hold down the handle, then when you release the grip it sucks that water up. And the colour of the spent water is gross. Immediately the carpets are brighter and smell so good. It’s fun to do too to be honest and really satisfying. It’s expensive but I think worth it.

I wasn’t expected it to clean some stains from a BBQ in 1 go, but it did. It also brought up so much fur which I couldn’t see and the vacuum cleaner hadn’t picked up before. For all of this alone I would have given it 5 stars, but the best bit for me was how easy it was to clean every part of it after I had used it.

This carpet cleaner is amazibg. I have used two different vax cleaners and neither compare to this one. Having a dog with a full carpetted house is a nightmare but this cleaner has changed everything and my carpets have gone from brown back to a lovely fluffy grey and dry within 30 minutes. The suction power is fab. The cleaning solution that comes with this makes the carpets smell fresh and has definetly got rid of the dog smell. This is a bit more expensive than other cleaners but so worth the money! I am yet to try this out on the stairs and car but have no doubt the results will be great.

It is just what I was looking for. I accidentally spilled a bottle of shampoo on my carpet, decided to bought this to clean up the shampoo and also the entire house carpet. It is very easy to use and I can really a huge difference on my two years old carpet especially on the highest traffic areas. On deep clean mode, it took 1-2 days to dry completely depending on the wetness after cleaning. It also came with three samples of cleaning solutions, which is a huge bonus as I was completely novice. Highly recommended.

I have never actually owned a carpet cleaner before as I’ve always had a professional or hired a machine. The bissell gives a better result (even beats the rug doctor) than I’ve ever had before and I can do it at my own convenience. OK you may have to refill the tank 3 or 4 times on a max clean but the results are excellent. Easy to assemble and instructions are self explanatory. Highly recommend. Now at an even cheaper price.

This replaces a Vax “Henry” style carpet cleaner and I have to say it’s amazing in comparison. Easy to setup and fill. Cleaning our low pile carpet and removing ground in stains with ease. Sometimes had to use the handheld brush for really stubborn stains, but in general just used the standard upright. Cleaning after use is very easy as the cover for the brushes all clip off. It does get through the cleaning solution very quickly on the deep clean setting, but once you’ve done a deep clean you can use the light setting which is very frugal. Stores away nice and tidy. Very pleased I got this over another vax.

Carpet cleaner always say they are going to this or that but this one really does clean. My granddaughter spilt a can of Pepsi on my cream bedroom carpet over 4 years ago and I have never been able to get the stain out. Super easy to use, not as loud as I anticipated from the reviews and gets carpets like new. I had some stains on the carpet from a few years ago that never shifted – now they are gone.

The attachments are great and makes cleaning upholstery really easy.

Drying time on a deep clean is a bit above the 8hrs it says – but you can live with it.

    Can’t recommend highly enough

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is a serious bit of kit that I’ve had hours of fun with. As a 33 year old man, dad and partner, I feel like this is where my life is at now. Reviewing a carpet cleaner. In all fairness though it’s a fantastic tool. I guess you get to an age when you really appreciate super dirty water gathering in a tank. Knowing that it’s come from deep beneath your feet. I hadn’t realised how dirty our carpets actually were. The sheer excitement in my voice shouting on my fiance for the 100th time for her to come and see how dirty the water is. I urge all reading this to take the plunge and purchase this dirt eating demon, you will not be disappointed. The bissell detergents are good too and the febreeze one smells really good. Be warned though, you will catch the bug(pun intended). Once you get that first dirty tank you’ll be itching to clean every carpet and piece of fabric you own. I have already offered my service to family members. May your carpets, rugs and upholstery be rejuvenated.

Excellent machine. Cleaned our cream carpets beautifully – we had some staining from 2 cats and dirty shoes but this has made the carpets look and feel new again. Easy to use, the cable length is ideal and lots of suction power. It was a bit heavy with the water tank full but the big wheels make it easy to push around. The stairs attachment was great. I didn’t need to pre soak any stains either which was brilliant. Hopefully it’ll last us a lifetime!

Used the carpet shampooer only once so far and that was in the lounge. I could not believe there was so much dirt as only slippers are worn indoors. It just goes to show what filth there is in the atmosphere. The carpet looks as if it is brand new. The very quick drying time was as advertised. Great purchase.

I’m not the sort of person to leave reviews but I had to for this! I have 5 labradors and 2 cats along with a husband and son who work on construction sites…….. my home is very busy with a lot of through traffic and muddy feet! I had a Henry wash which I felt was not up to scratch for my household. After researching I decided to trade Henry in for this carpet cleaner and I am amazed at the difference in my carpets. My living room carpet was disgusting after a winter of sludge and occasional pet accidents. This cleaner removed months old stains that I just couldn’t get up. If you’re looking for a great carpet cleaner that isn’t industrial then this is the one for you.

Very pleased with it so far. I’ve had to go over stubborn stains several times but that does work. It seems to suck up water best when being pulled back and it’s well worth doing that over a cleaned area many times – at least until you can see it’s not picking up any more water – because it makes the drying process much shorter.

Delighted, was pretty amazed at the amount of dirt the deep clean option removed. We have dogs and I thought I kept the place clean.
Obviously deluded, judging by the filthy water it stored. Bit difficult to get the hair out, but the tool you get with it soon sorts that.
Altogether, well worth the money! Great guarantee too!

I used the Bissell after returning a Vax platinum smartwash. Compared to the Vax platinum, The bissell is slightly quieter, cleaned better and left carpets drier, feels better build quality and overall does a better job. I also found the Bissell system of using the trigger to dispense water much more useful than Vax automatic dispensing. The trigger allows the release of the right amount of water depending on the area being cleaned. The Bissell also requires the clean water and detergent to be mixed in the same tank when filled. This for me is positive as it allows me to put the right amount of detergent in the water depending on how dirty the carpet area is rather than the Vax which mixes clean water and detergent as you clean. The only downside of the Bissell in my opinion compared to the Vax is the Bissell is more difficult to clean afterwards. The Vax dismantled very easily for cleaning but the Bissell required a screw driver, removing drive belts and the tool provided to get into areas that cannot be dismantled. Overall I would go for the Bissell regardless of price despite the downside of cleaning the machine afterwards. At the time of writing the Bissell is almost half the price of the Vax platinum smartwash.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersVery pleased with the quality of the cleaner and how easy it is to use. Attached are before and after photos of my cream bedroom carpet that had a dryed in dog urine stain that my step daughter had previously tried to hide with a rug, so the stain was more than a month old. First attempt with the cleaner is the second photo. Very pleased with the results. 3rd photo is of my living room carpet after just cleaned it (still damp) but results are amazing and the carpet looks like it did when first year (2005). The 5th photo shows the water after 1st attempt on the red carpet, left overnight to dry and repeated the next day, the 4th photo shows the water after 2nd attempt on the red carpet. Very impressed considering that I have had this carpet so long and previously cleaned by a specialist. Value for money and a very good investment, I would highly recommend!

Having had a Vax carpet cleaner the better part of 20 years, it was time to upgrade. After extensive research and reading, we opted to go for this Bissell cleaner, and have honestly found it to be outstanding. The three cleaning modes will tackle everything from cleaning up a slippage of tea or coffee or our elderly cat’s latest accident, all the way through to the deepest clean.

The build quality is excellent, the suction power in pulling up water from the carpet is superb – on the lightest setting, carpets really can be dry in around 30-60 minutes (although on the Deep and Max settings, you’re obviously looking at a lot longer). We were concerned about potential damage to our fairly deep pile carpets having read other reviews, but that worry proved groundless, and the machine cleans the carpet without wearing on it at all.

As some reviews have mentioned, really stubborn / older marks and stains may take more than one going over to clear them. I’ve actually found the best approach is to go for a Max clean the first time, let things dry out thoroughly, then review and follow-up with either a Deep clean or an Express clean to get things looking good (although the hall carpet needed to Max clean runs to get it looking decent). And, obviously, always vacuum before using this cleaner so that surface / loose hairs and dirt can be removed and the cleaner can get on with cleaning the carpet.

    Pros
    * Build quality.
    * Cleaning effectiveness.
    * Ease of strip-down for post-use cleaning.
    * The Cleaning wand for removing hair and dirt from the suction head – it’s just a flexible piece of plastic, but worth its weight in gold when cleaning this machine.
    * Access to rollers for cleaning / clearing / drying.
    * Weight – significantly lighter than our old Vax.
    * Clean shot for “pre-cleaning” – with a light foot and practice, this can easily bring a spray of cleaning solution to bear on soil marks for better cleaning.

    Cons
    * Noise – this machine is loud. But so are all the others!
    * The accessories bag – getting the extension hose back into the bag can be tiresome, and the netting on the front of the bag can snag things when trying to remove them or put them back in the bag.
    * Stair tool – this just feels as if it is angled the wrong way when trying to use the main brush BUT the crevice and edge brushes are excellent.

The cons here are all pretty minor, and nothing that stops us recommending this machine.

I have already used it to clean the living room carpet twice. I used the heavy stain first as it had not been washed all winter and the dogs bring mud in however hard you dry them. Excellent results. I only used the medium this month and it is just as good. I love the fact that I can use much warmer water in this machine than my last one (without melting the water tank glue) and that the tank is so much bigger – I don’t have to keep refilling. The double roller works a treat and is much easier to clean at the end of the session. My carpets smelt great too. Also the pick up of the used water is very good.

I wanted a cleaner which would be able to cope with my elderly dog who sometimes makes a mess of the carpet. It’s also great for furniture and dog beds. You don’t realise how dirty your carpets are until you’ve used one of these. Highly recommended.

A beastly carpet cleaner, especially if you have pets. It’s pulls all the hair and stains pets leave behind. The dirty water collection container needs emptying often which can be a Little annoying. The stairs attachment is not so great, it relies solely on lots of elbow grease. With that said all stair cleaners I have researched appear to offer no better solutio

Bought this to replace anotther Bissell carpet cleaner which was no longer doing a good job. It was seventeen years old.
The new cleaner is superior in every way, smaller, lighter, better at cleaning and easier to use. The brushes on this machine really makes it clean deeply and thoroughly. The suction gets all the dirty water out of the carpet.
One tip is to go over your carpet several times with the suction until yhou find where the cleaning solution is pooling under your carpet. It confused me for a while until I realised that the liquid must form a puddle under your carpet where thr floor is lowest.
A really good product. I realise that you pay a premium price for this model but in my veiw you get what you pay for.

Just a note that might be helpful. This carpet cleaner is fabulous. However, it didn’t occur to me, before buying, to check if it could be used on wool. Turns out Bissell say ‘ This is not recommended, as wool carpets can be extremely delicate’, but I only read that after I’d bought it!! Stupid me. My wool carpet was filthy – it isn’t now! You can use it on wool but expect the wool to shed and to take longer to dry. My carpet really does look like new, but I think I will be cleaning it ‘occasionally’ rather than frequently.

So far so good. Was not impressed by my previous Bissell Proheat – the one with the single rwo-compartment plastic tank, which was heavy and impossible to clean, so I was going to buy a Vax instead when this appeared on offer.
On brief acquaintance so much better designed than its predecessor.
Have to add, however, like all these machines, when you switch it off the suction head drips dirty water on the floor.

One caution! It is LOUD! Seriously powerful machine, so treat with respect, protect your hearing! I wear noise cancelling headphones when using it, but you could just have some over the ear ear protectors (easily bought on Amazon as well!).

100% recommend. It’s really easy to use, and I found it easy to clean. We’ve also used a rug doctor cleaner before and find it way better on all levels! It’s totally transformed our carpets. We have an Irish Setter with cream carpets, so as you can imagine dirt build up can sometimes be an issue with a dog. But now we’re able to clean them every few weeks/before guests come over and they look great & smell fresh.

Also, we paid 280 to get professional cleaners in and it’s removed stains they said couldn’t be removed. We won’t need to waste our money again!

This was very easy to set up (less than 5 minutes). The build quality appears very good and a well built / sturdy unit.

I wish I had taken before and after pictures, wow!. It’s amazing. We have a dog and I thought the carpets looked visually clean, how wrong I was!. This cleaned them amazing, the water was so dark I cleaned it another two times.

Very easy to complete a deep clean, so much dog hair come up and it was also so easy to clean the machine after use. The double bushed bottom really did it’s job!.

Attachment worked very well as well, cleaned the office chair down after all the carpets.

We had a standard VAX carpet cleaner before,
Doesn’t even compare to this. This machine sets a whole new standard for DIY carpet cleaners and we couldn’t recommend it enough.

Only one thing is bad it is sooo loud. But better hear it than live in a such a dust!!!

Excellent carpet shampooer, my wife is very pleased with it and has already cleaned all the carpets in the house. It has been easy to use. When we first used it we were walking the machine too slowly with the trigger on which made the carpet very wet and taking longer to dry. You have to follow the instructions. We haven’t tried it on the stairs yet. The only problem so far is that the front cover keeps lifting up and has to be pushed down into position but we think that is because the machine is picking up too much fluff from the carpets which had not been cleaned in years.

After a lifetime of gadgets I know I must take a while to read the instructions unlike when I was younger and more impatient. It is quite a complicated bit of kit, having never used one before, but I soon got the hang of it and was very pleased with the results. There was quite a lot of cleaning the machine after using, but with our dog aging badly I will be using it a lot. Only used on IKEA rugs, but they came up like new and one is nearly 10 years old. Building myself up to do the stairs and timing it so they dry. 30 mins was a bit optimistic, even with this mini heatwave.

Our carpets look like new and the Bissell is so easy to use and maintain. Comes with plenty of attachments (although only one of them seems really necessary) which are easy to attach and use. The carpets are pretty dry once you’ve finished.

I have owned a variety of carpet cleaners and I find this one to be the easiest to use and keep clean. The Machine has three options for cleaning the carpets from light to deep. The upholstery attachment is very good and better at the job than other machines I have owned. I look after an old pet who has accidents so need to clean frequently, this machine does the job. It has good suction power. My favourite thing about it is the easy access to the brushes to remove pet hair, carpet fibres and general detritus ! It is as easy to store as a normal upright vacuum cleaner.

I’ve tried everything to deal with this horrible dried in mess. I’ve cleaned it by hand, I’ve rented another very well-known carpet cleaner and used it for a full TEN HOURS trying to clean it up. I’ve used treatment after treatment and STILL no luck… Still stank to high heaven and the stain never budged. Until now.

Using the pet pre-treatment along with the pet stain and odour cleaner with this carpet cleaner has FINALLY removed the smells from the carpet. I’m actually amazed? I thought I would have to replace the whole thing as nothing else has worked but it actually cleaned it flawlessly! I know how reviews like this sound, I’ve read plenty of them myself, but I cannot stress enough that I have tried everything to clean this carpet and then this comes along and does it all in one job that even the rental couldn’t in TEN HOURS of work.

Incredibly easy to use, very efficient. The only singular con I can think of is the plastic does feel a little flimsy and cheap but it did such a good job I don’t even care!

Really very impressed with this machine. I have two dogs and a pale hall carpet: over time, some rather hideous stains had built up and I’ve tried several products to try to get rid of them (the stains, not the dogs!). All with very little success. I’ve also had the carpet ‘professionally’ cleaned, and that helped a bit, but there were still vestiges of some of the stains left.
First sweep with this machine – all stains gone! Seriously! I couldn’t really believe it and kept thinking ‘I’m sure I’ll have to have another go to really get them out’, but no: literally 5 minutes work and my carpets look brand new. For the price, this is a bargain.
As others have said, it’s not a light machine so for anyone with strength concerns, do be careful especially if you need to use it upstairs. It’s also quite noisy, but I guess that’s a good thing because it indicates a powerful motor. And it’s very easy to use: no awkward pulling on the water tanks. And my goodness, the dirty water tank was FILTHY!
My only hope is that this machine is a ‘laster’ and doesn’t conk out after a few uses. We shall see. If it continues to provide good service for a few years, I couldn’t hesitate in recommending it as a very effective carpet cleane

We have a well lived in home, 6 adults and 3 dogs. Many times in the past we have hired a “Rug Doctor” carpet cleaner, but given frequency of hiring, it was not a good investment and so looked to purchase a carpet cleaner outright. The Bissell comes highly rated and it certainly lives up to that reputation. We have had this cleaner now 3 months and we would say it out performs the rug doctor in both cleaning effectiveness (absolutely amazed how it removes mark’s and stains, leaving carpets smelling fresh), its ease of use (very simple to add cleaning agent and empty the waste water tank) and it is lightweight, so easy to manoeuvre. The BIssell will need emptying/topping up more frequently than a Rug Doctor (which a large and heavy machines) but given its half the price of the Rug Doctor, and has such excellent performance, that is a a very minor issue.

Having two mud loving dogs we needed a system to get our carpets cleaned in a regular basis. The amount of dirt it gets out of the carpet and sofa’s is astonishing, used it on the car seats and for great results. The brushes will show you just how poor your vacuum is at removing ingrained dirt and hairs, this put to shame both our dyson DC01 and shark hoover we recently bought.

I have berber carpet throughout the upstairs of my house.Did a small patch on deep clean and the weave went fluffy and clumps of fibre came up.Has settled down a bit now dry but I would be wary using it on the rest of my carpet.Have used the popular rental on these carpets and this did not happen.Bought for the doggy rugs so happy to keep but if you have these carpets think twice if you need a deep clean.Have a rug with a smooth pile and it has come up like new so great for normal carpet.

Right out of the box easy to build only 1 screw. Fill the tank and off you go! Easy to clean comes apart easily. Only 1 complaint. The front panel which sucks up the liquid pops off very easily with just a slight bump. Easy to put on but a bit annoying. would give 4.5 with only this for the reason not giving 5. Can’t believe it took me so long to buy this! It is really easy to use – put it on deep clean, pull the trigger for one pass backwards and forwards and then go forwards and backwards to suck it back up again. You do have to refill the tank frequently if youre doing a normal sized room and definitely buy a big bottle of formula – the small testers they give you are not enough for a few carpets. Was going to get carpets in our new house professionally cleaned but bought this to try first. Now I’m addicted! The filth that came out will make you heave. We had to fully clean the machine out after cleaning each room but I presume that’s because they were so dirty and clogged with dog hair. It’s really easy to take the parts apart and the cleaning tool is disgusting but great fun. No comments on longevity but initially it’s love!

TLDR: you need this if you have a child and a dog!

    An amazing carpet cleaner.
As with all the other reviews I couldn’t believe how much dirty water came out.
Carpets brand new three years ago.
    Hoovered daily.
Much better having the dirty and clean water separately.
Drying times much longer than stated however.
The “express ” clean took at least three hours to dry and the max about 24 hours.
Had to lay down old towels where we had to walk.
So a little more honesty in the write ups would be good.
Uses a hell of a lot of liquid on max clean but well worth it.
    Easy to assemble.
    Instructions are not brilliant.
Only diagrams with no written instructions at all.
Having said that its all pretty self explanatory.
The little tool for cleaning the brushes is quite good but the machine is not well designed for the brush cleaning after use.
Had to use my fingers to disentangle some hair that tends to wrap itself around the very ends of the brushes.
Took us longer to clean the machine than the actual carpets.
But really didn’t mind as the cleaning is so excellent.
Overall I’m very impressed. The actual gleaning ability is first rate. We will get very good use out of this machine.

This was the first Bissell product for me, i’ve always used/struggled with that other one (V**) before.
Being disappointed by the competitors product it still took a lot of convincing for me to pay the extra for a Bissell but boy i’m glad i did !
This product is well thought out and extremely easy to both use and clean yet still delivers a good clean to the carpets.
After use, you just remove the brush cover with a click and rinse it in the sink. You then press two ‘buttons’ to release everything except the brushes and rinse in the sink. Click back together and it’s ready for the next time – Done !
I had a minor problem with mine. The dirty water tank was leaking from the base. There were no signs of damage nor any reason i could see for the leak. I contacted Bissell customer service and after sending them a copy of my invoice, they sent a new dirty water tank which works perfectly.
Excellent product, i would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have quite dense wool carpets. The Bissell doesn’t like them at first and keeps spitting out grey dirty lint like lumps everywhere. It took more time picking them up than the cleaning did. I did notice it was better second time, so I think the first clean is brushing out all the free fibres. The carpet did come up very clean. It was much easier on a synthetic carpet I have. Didn’t like it on the stairs as the stairs hose fitting does not turn off the main rotary brushes on the machine. I couldn’t leave the machine at the foot of the stairs with the brushes spinning as it would have worn a hole! Ended up raising the machine by balancing a couple of books under it. It worked but made the machine so noisy I had to wear ear plugs. What a simple feature for Bissell to have overlooked – the use of the hose should clearly stop the brushes turning.

By far a great carpet cleaner, I used a competitor cleaner and this is by far superior, I used the deep clean function on my cream carpets, moving into my new house i couldn’t help but accidentally incur a few stains, everything from curry, varnish, muck, blood, irn-bru & red wine all came out without a hassle (the blood was a accident am not a murderer) go slowly over the stains and they’ll come out brand new, the tank is quite big you can easily complete a medium sized living room on deep clean in one tank, carpets were dry in about 30min with the hearing on in the house, that might have helped, compare to the competitor I used which was hrs.. ain’t missing that one the only downside is the noise it makes, makes your ears go deafening, once you turn it off your ears pop it’s that loud but it’s great at what it says it’s meant to do.. so thumbs up from me

BRILLIANT WHEN IT WORKS. Just need to be careful as the bristles are quite strong and can damage more delicate carpets (much to my dismay). Best performance noted from taking the suction assembly off the washer and rinsing the carpet with the reconstituted solution (working the shampoo into the carpet). Let it sit for about 10 to 15 mins. Then fill tank with clean warm water attach the suction assembly back on and do a forward pass with trigger pressed to release water and depress on return (go slower on return to pickup as much water as possible) so it sucks up all the solution and any remaining water. Use bissel detergent as its the best out there.

Although this method calls for a very wet wash and longer drying (24hours) carpets turn out like new. For tougher stains may need a second go over.

However test inconspicuous area on your carpet first to ensure it does not damage it!

With Two dogs, 3 boys and a busy outdoor life our carpets get pretty mucky. We have always used Vax cleaners but were left disappointed with our last model so switch to this one.

Size, is ok the upright is your standard size and can be a tad heavy for your petite users but manageable.

Cleaning, this cleaner is perfect, with 3 functions it cleans filthy carpets with ease, even pur furniture got the good news.

Noise, sounding a bit like a jet engine it’s a loud beast, compared to other cleaners however it’s about the same in volume.

The reservoir holds a healthy amount of clean water, the waist water however fills up too quickly. You will have to empty it twice before refilling the clean water which can be a tad bit annoying.

Cleaning stairs or anything you need the attachment for is my only gripe, with the floor getting wet with the waist water under the machine and the rollers activating scuffing the floor or carpet.

VFM yes this is good VFM and I would recommend this cleaner.

I ordered a similar, cheaper machine from another brand earlier this week but after 15 mins use it succumbed to what seems to be a common issue of leaking! Got a large house with lots of carpet. Don’t have pet but child. Read lots of review about carpet cleaner and it ended to pick up this one. It works really well by removing dirt and hidden dust away from the carpet. The solution combined with hot water from tap makes the carpet fresh again. Used deep clean for heavy traffic areas whereas express clean for room with less access. Carpet dried about 2 days but it wouldn’t affect walking on when wet.

It was very easy to use, similar to hover. However, it is a bit heavy to move between floors even with two tanks empty. Cable is long enough so you don’t need to frequently change the socket.

Effective is excellent but you need to have several passes in a cross pattern. The waste water tank was completely dark due to dirty water.

In summary, highly recommended for those with a large portion of carpet coverage.

Did the whole house ( all Axminster pale willow wool carpets) in 3 hours with 3 changes of detergent and very dirty water! Was touch dry in an hour as I used the dry run a couple of times. So easy to clean the machine afterwards, as all parts are easily detachable and accessible. Comes with a load of attachments, the pet one is brilliant ( but don’t use it directly on the pet ) and 3 bottles of cleaning solution including the oxy action for deeper cleaning. This was a bit more money than some others on Amazon, but with two young kids and a dog we needed one that really done the job. This does!
It’s surprising (and a bit shocking) exactly how much muck and filth this sucks up, the results were impressive and on par with a professional rug doctor that can be hired from local stores. 3 settings from express to deep clean it has all bases covered from cleaning a minor spill to rejuvenating old dirty carpets. It’s easy to use and our carpets were bone dry within half an hour. The hose attachment for stairs, sofa, car interior is also easy to use.
The only slight negative I would say is it is fairly noisy but it probably needs to be to generate the cleaning power it has.
It’s quite straight forward to clean afterwards and comes with tools to get trapped hair from the rollers and head.

You get 3 sample bottles which did my main rug in the living room bigger than the rug in picture and my bedroom carpet. 10/10 would recommend and you get 6 year guarantee

Beats the rug doctor deep clean model.

We have 3 cats and a dog and I had read this was the cleaner to get because you can take apart the roller front section if you get hair caught. We have a pet hoover that’s expensive and good but I was amazed how much hair the rollers picked up and how dirty the water was. The best thing about this cleaner is that it behaves just like a hoover, the water fill tank lifts off and on easily, the dirty water tank clips out equally as easy to empty, there is NOTHING to set up and take apart like the orange vax carpet washer we had before. The only time you need the tube attachment is when doing stairs etc. Couldn’t be happier.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersAfter having to read hundreds of reviews and specs I’ve decided on the PetPro. We had an old Vax that suddenly stopped sucking the water back and so needed a new one. First I started with the cleanest room and that’s the very first picture. It looks horrible that amount of dirt coming out of the carpet especially that that room was cleaned with our old machine a few months back. The picture does not show well but the living room carpet got renewed and all the rooms I’ve cleaned with it look refreshed and lovely.
The machine comes with some sample carpet shampoos that are enough to clean quite a few rooms. It also comes with a cleaner tool that removed the collected fluff super easily.
It is not lightweight when in operation but pushing and pulling back and forth on the carpet is as easy that my little boy can do it.
Definitely worth the money, I just would not go back to mg old one this makes a brilliantly clean carpet

Few things to look out for. Take care of the clean water tank, it empties quite quickly and as its heated it should never run without water. The other one is the dirty tank. It looks like there is plenty more space in there but when its about half way it actually stops sucking more water in to prevent the tank from overfilling. It is surprisingly lot of fluff coming in even right after hoovering, these should also be regularly removed as can prevent the machine from working properly.

    Other than that, 100% recommended.

    What is not to love

I purchased this after seeing it was a which? Best Buy. I needed it for carpets, stairs and a sofa.

It arrived today, really easy to put together and then start using. The carpets here are 20+ years old and I suspect never been cleaned. (We moved in recently) I’ve done the hall, stairs and landing today and what it is pulling out is just vile. The water is the darkest brown.

Using it on hall carpet is easy, it moves well. And I used on max clean and carpets aren’t soaking. They will take up to 8 hours to dry and that’s fine.

On the hall, I have been over 6 times, (2 passes with spray, 2 to dry x 6) and the water is still coming out brown. So I’m going to let it dry and go again next week. But it is clearly really working.

The hose for stairs was long enough to reach to the top, and easy to use and just as effective. Dark brown water.

Our sofas are actually new so don’t need to use it yet on them. But with a spaniel that loves mud this is a no brainer.

There is no wet dog smell (even though we have a dog who is wet and muddy a lot of the time) just smells really clean and fresh.

We have pattern beige carpets so you can really see the dirt in them, that wasn’t for me the major point. More knowing they are not filthy. But seeing the dirt and grime and grit that it has pulled out I have no concern it wouldn’t make light carpets sparkling!

It is a really satisfying job to do seeing the dirt come out.

What a fantastic bit of ki
