Superb mobile cleaner.
This cleaner is superb for what it’s intended for. We have a large one as well and this sucks up better than that. Is a great spot cleaner in emergency. Is very noisy though.
Our very first spot cleane
We carefully researched this for weeks. We did not want to rush into getting a spot cleaner and then wishing we had got a different one, an expensive mistake. I chose this one because it is by a reputable brand, the tanks hold a reasonable amount of water, the 750 power reassured me it could do the job well, many other spot cleaners were on ly 400, it seemed sturdy and well made without unnecessary features and had some accessories. I have a problem with my lungs – restrictive lung disease, so run out of energy quickly, it affects everything physical I do, so I knew I would struggle with using a normal brush and wanted one of the motorised ones. You have to pay extra for this brush but it is worth it. Out of the dozens of machines I looked at there were only three that offered this feature, and their other features would vary so I would be missing out on something else if I chose one of the others. One had a much smaller tank so I would struggle to keep filling up with water. Yes this is more expensive than many of the other spot cleaners but the cheaper ones did not offer the features I needed.
We have a large vax washer, my husband uses this when the whole house needs doing, but with my energy problems I cannot cope with it, I needed something lighter and smaller.
Our bissell arrived yesterday, this is a bought purchase, not given to us because I am a vine reviewer.
We set it up and cleaned the stairs. One of the things I noticed was that the instructions are sparse, mostly just pictures where you have the guess the words. But with some logic and thinking you can soon work out how to get it going. When you press the tool onto the carpet you can put the lever so it is cleaning or it is sucking up water, if you press the button underneath it sprays. Sometimes you have to suck and suck to get that bit of carpet a lot drier, but that is just one of those things. With patience and determination you get there.
Our star carpet had not been cleaned for many years and it is jet black with no pattern. Little stains and
bits of fluff show up very easily. I find I must pace myself and can do about ten minutes at a time.
I found the stair carpet came up a treat and will do the bedroom spots and spots on other carpets and upholstery next. You can see that you are really getting a lot of dirt out as crystal clear water is replaced with very dirty grey water when you suck it up. The cleaning agent has a nice fragrance but they only give you a very tiny sample bottle. We will use other cheaper carpet solutions when this runs out, we don’t see why a machine will only work with their own cleaner other than it’s a way to get you to buy it from them.

Bought to clean my cars interior seats as after 8 years the drivers seat was looking more grey than the blue counter part seat. It brought it up pretty well, so good in fact the passenger seat now looks dirty compared to the drivers so will have to clean that one in summer when its warmer.
Though a point that i would mark it down for would be that the suction could be better as where the head detach button is there is a noticeable gap causing a noticeable level of suction to be lost which is an annoying point.
Its a good unit for the price and would recommend to anyone but that snag is a markdown.

I would definitely recommend this product, I was gonna hire a carpet/sofa cleaner and pay a lot more money, thanks to this product I done it all myself, only issue is it’s very loud. The effectiveness is great, made my couches look brand new! Also got tough stains out the carpet , would recommend getting the bissell cleaning solution of your choice
Good clea
This carpet cleaner works well on daily stains and is super easy and compact to get around. Only issue is with really difficult stains, you need to spend some time soaking and repeatedly cleaning to get it removed. Overall great product for the price.

I bought this to suck water out of my cars carpet after the boot leaked which it did very well, have since used it inside on stains which it has done very well.
Fantastic cleane
A robust powerful deep cleaning machine. Surprisingly so. Very impressive cleaning action and string suction removes the water thoroughly back out of the carpet. Floor dried clean and fluffy with no remaining smell. Once dry hoovered over and smelt as good as new. Absolutely delighted and saved a full room carpet now does not need replacing. Compact shape for storage. Highly recommended.

This Bissell spot cleaning pro shampooer offers transformative results, making it a fantastic investment. Although it boasts amazing capabilities, its fragility warrants careful usage. Employing a mixture of pink stuff and water, I restored my mattress to its whitest state, even combatting ink stains. Additionally, this tool effectively tackles pet accidents, with the odor-prevention solution deterring repeat incidents. A minor learning curve aside, it earns a resounding 5-star recommendation, with any shortcomings attributed to user adjustment rather than product performance.
Does the job
Bought especially for smaller areas (recliner seat, stairs etc) and works really well. After one go the stair carpet looked a lot fresher. It’s easy to use and the results are immediate. It does leak a little around the handheld section and when you are getting the tanks in and out but ours is very minor. Not enough for it to be a malfunction.
First came across this from ‘the detail geek’ on YouTube. He’s a professional car valeter and has countless videos of this in action and claims (at the time) there was no professional/industrial carpet cleaner that was worth having over this for quality. The only reason he has recently changed is due to having a purpose built shop.
So that was good enough for me. I have used it on the carpets as home when spilling coffee and the results were fantastic and have also used it on my HGV truck seats which were incredible results! My sister also used it for a chair she picked up on marketplace and was that impressed she ordered 1 for herself.

Bought on sale to keep my carpets fresh in between professional cleaning. Used to hire a machine from a well know brand from my local supermarket however I have to admit the bissell has given a better result.
The only downside is that the suction could be a bit stronger but it only take a few extra passes to get most of the water up. love it !!!
Took me a while to pull the trigger on this. Wanted one for some time but for me it was a lot of money. Finally got it. Used it. LOVE it!! Well made, sturdy. It DOES require a lot of elbow grease – it doesn’t run itself!! Results were very good. Keep it rinsed out really well if you get one though. Carpet chemicals are harsh. A longer more robust hose would be my only suggestion to the makers – otherwise it’s a great product.

It arrived packaged well, really powerful suction. Cleans carpet on stairs really well. More high trafficked areas need going over a couple of times. Only downside as for 4 stars it is very loud. But works great!
Just a brilliant piece of cleaning produc
Just used this machine bought in 2002 never used but today I needed to because of my dog being greedy and swallowing his food to quickly then throwing up so I decided to to use my carpet cleaner and I’m so happy with this machine so easy to use it brought up the mess up so easy and clean I’m just glad I bought this machine better than my vax upright carpet cleaner .
After browsing and considering all the options, we chose this make and model. I am glad we did as it is well made, with powerful suction and whilst it comes with two cleaning heads, you can get various accessories for it as well. The power cord is long and that’s useful. The only thing I have found slightly frustrating is the length of the suction hose, which on the one hand neatly wraps around the storage on the side but on some tasks, you wish it was a bit longer, otherwise it’s a brilliant machine, well designed good capacity for clean and dirty water and although it’s slightly noisy, that’s more to do with the powerful motor !
Great product. And fantastic about what it’s supposed to do. However. Just think about what you want it to do for a minute before purchasing.
I’ve got an aging dog who’s having a few accidents of late. If this is a sign of things to come I thought I’d best be prepared to remove the accidents. With not having many carpets in the house I decided the spot cleaner would be a better option.
Having tested and successfully cleaned an offending area the product is that good that it highlights how dirty the rest of the rug is. I now need to get a carpet cleaner in to tackle the job lot.
So. It’s great at what it does but because of the nature of what it is it will highlight that the surrounding area aren’t quite as clean as you’d have thought.
I recommend this for the right uses but wish I’d bought a bigger carpet cleaner with nozzle attachment.
I photographed the toffee-brown liquid removed during my cleaning of a used car bought just this week. For contrast it’s pictured adjacent to what is actually used washing-up bowl water.
It’s pretty horrible!
This, is what you want though. Having used a Vax machine on carpets in the past I was pretty sure I wouldn’t like what I saw. You think it needs a BIT of a clean, then you do the job, and the resulting dirty water is fairly off-putting. But this is the colour of success of course.
If it produced clear or mildly cloudy waste water there wasn’t much dirt in there at all. Filthy brown, means it was worth it.
Before I did this effort on my new/used car purchase, I’d been using a sponge and rags and washing-up liquid. I spent two hours on just the fronts seats and headrests and realised this had been a fairly heavy smoker’s car with the first try at drying a bit of the seat with kitchen roll. It came away that classic yellow/tan nicotine colour.
In fact, literally the only part of the car that escaped this assault by tobacco was where the driver was sat all this time. Now the question arises, why didn’t I smell this? I’m afraid the used car dealers have discovered the wonder of ‘ozone bombing’ a car’s interior.
Now, they don’t need to rely on dangling de-odorisers or actually doing the effort of valeting the soft spongey seats, they just put the ozone-maker/ioniser in the car for a few hours, and the smell has gonebut the stinking actual source of the smell, the dirty nicotine/tobacco film, has seeped into the first layer or so of seat materials and I cannot sit on that. I won’t ask my family or let my family, sit inside that.
I’m not paid by the company, I have no benefit from this review, except I am just pleased I got some muck out of the textile covering of the car seats, the carpeted rear floor panel of the boot, and the sponge underlayer of the seats too I think probably is worked on.
It smells nice afterward, the dirty mucky water produced cannot be faked, it really works. It takes effort of course, and this was just the first shot at it. If you only have a car for a week you wont bother (eg car dealer) but if you made what is a big purchase to yourself, or are just proud of your vehicle, this is the right tool to clean it up.
The use is simple, clean tank sends soapy water down the pipe to the attachment by a pump, and the attachment almost immediately sucks it back up. ALWAYS wet the surface first with the spray-trigger, because it’s got tobe wetted for it to work.
Clean detergent water, shoved through the fabric/carpet, and dirty water sucked back up into the dirty tank. Pull the dirty tank off, empty it nowhere near your sink, use a street drain or the toilet bowl – it’s pretty horrible gunk sometimes.
So this little Bissel unit, was almost immediately loaned out to my daughter, who suddenly decided her sofa might need it (was us refusing to sit down a hint?!). Which is good. Textiles and foam used extensively in furniture and car seats, really hold smells and the source of smells.
Tips I have: use warm water. Use the right stuff to put in the water, it foams well when aerated by the pump, but if you use this stuff without a proper device like this, it doesn’t foam much at all. My car seats were pretty damp afterward, so I put a heater in there (it has a safety tip-over cut-out switch too), a small one and cracked the windows just a bit.
I gave the seats a really thorough wetting with this cleaner unit, and so them still being damp a day later, even with the heater is not to say this could be avoided. I just put a towel on the seat – use one that matches the colour if you don’t want it obvious – and then resumed the heating and venting once I got back home.
This is a device I THOUGHT I might possibly benefit from using, because I was about to buy a new (used, new to me) car. They have been universally filthy, the ones I had to try out, and big, posh cars are at least as bad. Often, used cars get handed around or illegally hired-out for cash I think, and nobody doing that’s going to clean them.
If you want to know if a car or carpet or other surface needs cleaning, just get a nice white bit of kitchen roll, soap it up, and rub it around on the surface of the seat, curtain, carpet or whatever, and see what comes off.
I almost guarantee it won’t come away pretty, that piece of soapy kitchen roll. It’s a really satisfying job and as I say especially good for used cars where the dealers have found a low-effort way to mask or deceive buyers about the state of the car’s cleanliness.
Plus, if it is too much to afford, you will easily find someone to club together with, like other tenants in the same house, or maybe a family member, and that makes it easier to afford. I got the three-year guarantee/warranty option, because for 15 including accidents, that’s good value.

fantastic when used right. these machines are intended to rinse and dry. elbow grease is most definitely required. thats the same for anything other than the pro-grade uprights with spinning / rotating brushes.
to start with i would recommend the following addition items: non-rubber knee pads (will leave marks when wet), a separate scrubbing brush, and a spray bottle. Personally i like to pre-soak the area with the detergent using warm water and the spray bottle, leave it a few minutes then scrub to agitate the dirt, then use the machine and its clean water to rise and lift the dirt.
The machine itself is easy to use, just make sure the cap on the clean tank is screwed tight as it points down.
The power lead is heavy duty and a good length to keep you, machine and water away from the mains.
Suction lead is a little on the short side for my liking, but ideal for stairs and furniture. One of the reasons i recommend a separate scrubbing brush is to reduce wear and tear on the hose where it meets the handle (as many others have mentioned this is a point off weakness). You’re going to be down there scrubbing either way, you might as well get a comfortable scrubber for the job.
The unit itself is on the noisy side but its understandable. the motor is trying to suck up water, not just air. and its pumping water to the handle too. the machine is compact and easy to use, though there is no locking function on either tank so dont knock it over. Hose and power lead stow away nice and tidy and the handle is held securely in place.
results: are fantastic if you are willing to put the work in. a few hours work has made an off-white bedroom carpet and a grey corridor carpet look like new and completely removed high traffic dirt marks. like any of these machines it does not leave area completely dry but with the help of a fan on low power, 2 hours later its dry to the touch with bare feet.
over all verdict? worth the money if you’re willing to put in the effort. these compact machines are there to aid you, not do it for you.
Loud, Powerful, Compact and Effective
Cleaned the foot stool. very dirty especially on the corners. Good points, powerful, sucks well and leaves little cleaning fluid on the item being cleaned. spray works well and delivers a lot of fluid. The brush is reasonable, maybe another row of bristles would work well. Cleaning heads seem a little counter-intuitive. The working order is, suck in front then brush then spray. Personally I think spray, brush Suck makes more sense. I sprayed, turned off the machine, scrubbed then turned back on and sucked. It worked well. It is loud but I’d rather an effective tool that a quiet one! It does what was expected. I would have liked a slightly longer hose. The electric lead is nice and long. Personally I don’t think it’s too heavy. It packs away neatly. Overall I’m happy.
Excellent produc
Have previously borrowed a friends cleaner but with the purchase of my new puppy decided to buy one for myself. The cleaner has been very useful and is so easy to use ! Very good value for money and the cleaning product that I bought to use with it smells lovely! Suction power is very good and the carpets are almost dry to the touch. I used it to clean my sofa cushions and they have come up amazing clean!

Product arrived in bissell box and not double packaged which is always a plus when getting rid of cardboard. The unit itself seems well made and comes with a small sample bottle of cleaning fluid which should last a long time. Bought for cleaning cars it has a 1.5m hose which allows great access and two water tanks one clean water other for dirty. It comes with two nozzles big and small. The small is excellent for getting into car upholstery and carpets while the bigger one more suited to household carpets. Suction power is great and car was dry in about 2 hours. Cleaning of the unit after use is easy, clean bucket of water suck ut up through the nozzle and it cleans all the dirt out the hose stopping any long term smells. Vary happy.

Bought because “I wanted one”. Initially I wanted it to do the car mats and seats. Did the car mats in the sitting room one day I was bored and they came up excellent. I then turned my attention to stain on the carpet that I had tried to remove with a Vax, to no avail, years ago. Boom!!! Stain gone!!!!! I then did the whole sitting room carpet and then the stairs carpet too……… Very good machine, but thats born out by many great reviews and youtube videos too.

I was not sure thought it would be cheaper for a rug doctor loan but the reviews stirred me, i purchased and I am super pleased. Everywhere is cleaner and my sofa a large corner fabric is back to new!! Its actually good to have and once or twice a year if that give the carpets and sofa a nice new lift. Highly recommend!!

To be honest. I mis bought, I should have gotten something to more easily do larger spaces, I didn’t realise this was for small bits.
I think this spot cleaner and a proper carpet cleaner would ideal.
We used a lavender soup. Not the little bottle that came with it.
Took a long time, we used an additional brush which was key, we went over areas a couple of times.
When we moved in these stains were there. Over 3 years ago. We think it was puppy urine.

Absolutely brilliant for carpets !
This has been an absolute godsend, completely removing all stains etc from our carpets. We also have 2 dogs who are occasionally taken ill on them & the spot cleaner completely removes any trace of an (either end) accident within minutes ! Makes effortless to clear up what would otherwise be a long messy clean up. I generally only use warm water without detergent on fresh spills but have also used detergent to successfully remove historic stains. No reservation in recommending !

Easy and Effective
I like to think I’m a thorough cleaner and regularly use Dr Beckmans on my carpets as we have a dog, and my partner has a habit of spilling coffee (the perks of working from home!) I thought it was doing a good job of keeping them clean but the bissell spot cleaner has proven me wrong! The pictures speak for themselves. You will be horrified at just how dirty your carpets are! It took me about an hour and a half to do one room. I’ve also used it on our sofa for a few little stains and it’s come up perfectly. The water tank is a little leaky, and it’s hard to work out how much cleaner to use without physically measuring it as it doesn’t come with a measuring cup or a fill line on the tank (there is one for water but not for cleaning solution) but it’s easy to work around. I really like it and have already reccomended it to friends and family.

Have used this once now so bear in mind my review is based on first impressions.
The compact size is what drew me to this product and is definitely a firm plus as I only have a small under stair storage cupboard. It’s easy to move around and lightweight which I appreciate because I had a larger vacuum style carpet cleaner previously that was just the biggest bulkiest thing to move around which meant it never got used.
I expected to have to use “elbow grease” for scrubbing so this is not truly a minus for me, but for someone who wants something completely automated, this will not be the product for them. I also wouldn’t mind the hose being a bit longer. Especially as the machine itself is very(!) loud especially when it was sitting on a hardwood floor next to the rug I was cleaning causing the sound to echo/resonate (honestly, I would probably recommend ear defenders!). However, the biggest minus I have found is that when emptying the tank with the dirty water, there was clearly still water sitting in the housing around the tank which leaked onto the floor after the tank was removed. Maybe I didn’t give it long enough suctioning air after the wet suction? I’ll run it a bit longer next time and see. However, the machine worked well at extracting up the dirty water and the carpet didn’t take long to dry which seemed to indicate the suction works fairly well overall and definitely worked well (using the enclosed solution) at getting out some pet stains.

What a fabulous little cleaner!
Bought this to clean dark grey fabric dining chairs and remove a small mark on lounge carpet. This is very noisy but really goes the job! Actually embarrassed at what came out of our four year old chairs! Highly recommended but of kit!!!

Compact, powerful and easy to use and to also attain great results. A must have.
First time I deep cleaned the carpets inside my car. Jaguar carpets are plush and not easy to deep clean but this machine made short work of this job and the results were first class. It removed every small stain, removed 95% of the water and this is a low estimate and the carpet was dry inside 4 hours.
Also used on a bedroom carpet with lipstick, food and drink stains and it lifted them all out with ease. Compact and easy to move about and with the suction it produces you only need to lightly hold the pipe to the floor to remove the water so easy on the arms. A very even spread from the fan for the chemical used in conjunction with the water. All round for the money I feel this is a great buy. Hose and lead are stowed neatly to make this machine easy to stow away in a small cupboard. You won’t be disappointed.

Brilliant tool for any household
Have used this cleaner a few times to clean the carpets in the car and inside the house, along with upholstery cleaning. Does an amazing job of extracting the dirt which is visible in the waste water collection chamber. A must have for any household to remove spills and stains from carpets and upholstery.
Tip: Spray the solution provided onto the surface, use manual or a drill brush to agitate the dirt and then use Warm water in the Bisell to extract the dirt by spraying water on the surface and extracting. Works better than mixing solution with water water directly in the Bissell.

Quite impressive with this as you always unsure about buying something you may only use once then disregard it, but exact opposite used it every week since purchased and works really well especially on car seats
AMAZING Produc
After reading all comments good & bad, I decided to get it.. so glad I did, its amazing. I cleaned my 6 seater sofa within the hour and dried.
Super easy to put together and use. Small and compact, hose could be a little longer so it can reach back of sofa without lifting it up. Has a long cable so no need to move plugs half way through. Only had to fill up the water tank twice. .
Also cleaned our workplace carpet tiled floor (reception) was satisfying watching it lift the dirt lol
Also bought an upright one for floors and it’s also amazing (just have to go at snail speed with that one)
Highly recommended.
Brilliant for small jobs
Great size, good sucktion. Unbelivable how well it can suck the dirt out of my sofa or rug. Next step – cleaning the car. Definitely recomend it as it will do the job up to your expectations.
Not quite as good as a washing machine...
I’ve used this on some carpet stains, and it did do a fairly good job. It didn’t totally remove the stains, but certainly diminished them.
Spent well over an hour cleaning 3 seat cushions on our sofa today and the stains our toddler has decorated the sofa with are unfortunately still there. The material is quite rugged so perhaps it isn’t ideal for this machine, but hey ho. The water was absolutely revolting so it certainly does clean… But I can’t say it removes stains. If I could remove the covers they would fair far better in the washing machine.
I even tried steaming just before I used this cleaner… No effect.
Amazing for upholstery
We got this machine to clean our sofas and rugs, we don’t have carpet. The sofa is quite dark in colour, had no stains but I kept on sneezing every time I sat down. Well, it did survive building work and while I vacuum it regularly, I guess dust and dirt have settled. I don’t see much difference on the sofa itself after cleaning it but the dirty water said it all, it was nasty. I love this machine, it didn’t leave the sofa wet much but it’s now clean and smells fantastic.
Cleaning made easy
The carpet cleaner is so easy to use, very easy to set up.
There are 2 cleaning heads which are different size, so ideal for carpets, rugs, stairs, cushions. The list is endless where you can use the cleaner.
I like that you could spray the solution onto carpet then go over it to take the water out of the carpet. So it didn’t take too long to dry.
It will fit in a cupboard as not too big and it’s not too heavy.
