Where the switches are
When you’ve bought this consider where the controls on your old one were/are and where the controls on this one are. I picked the trimmer up sometimes by the blade because the only available places were where the switches are.
My bush never looked so good!
What a great machine, it cut through pretty thick branches with near no effort. Completed a 25 foot long and 8 foot high hedge in less than 5 minutes!

I have to say I am very happy with my new Bosch hedge trimmers, went through my privet hedge with ease, not quite as heavy as my old ones but more powerful, very sharp blade like a hot knife through butter. I would definitely recommend these hedge trimmers.
Easy to handle, light yet powerul
I am perfectly happy with the trimmer. It is light, easy to hold and manoeuvre and efficient. If there is one moan ( and it’s a very, very tiny one) the plug is very thin and sometimes tricky to grasp to release from a socket.

The hedge trimmer replaced exactly my old model which had served me well. Its easy to use and reasonably light and certainly appropriate for me at 70 years to cut my hedges. At the price its excellent value and hopefully it will be as a good a workhorse as my old one.

I think this is the best hedge trimmer money can buy. I went with the reviews and wasn’t dissapointed. Don’t expect to cut trees as this is a hedge trimmer, not tree cutter (some people with low IQ have complained here that the blade snapped or their lead snapped – obviously cutting the lead themselves).

Not the most powerful, but fine for the small amount of trimming I need to do. Not expensive and very pleased.

Great for small trims
Item is good for small hedges and trees with thin branches and does what you’d expect. Don’t buy this with the expectation that you’ll be able to hack down thick tree branches or really dense overgrown hedges. You’ll need something bigger than this for that but for the smaller jobs, this is ideal. Lightweight and sturdy.

Purchased for my widowed Mother to use as she was struggling with an older hedge cutter. Although hedge cutting is a thankless task she manages to do the job nicely with this cutter. It is quite lightweight and cuts into the leylandii hedge with relative ease.

Excellent prompt delivery. Product worked well, the only drawback was having to keep the dead mans handle depressed to make it work. When using at an angle this proved very awkward.

For the first time today, a chip large enough to jam the gears got in and the machine came to a halt. Now we come to the second design fault (IMO) two of the housing screws are of a rather unusual type which fortunately I happen to posess but most folk would not and so could not dissemble the body to look for problems. However I did, discovered the chip jammed in the gears and removed it so that my hedg trimmer became a happy bunny again.

This just works brilliantly
Everything is right about this. My pole hedge trimmer was so heavy that it’s not getting much use. This works even in a big garden because I can do do a bit of work every few days and it copes perfectly. It’s a perfect length to manoeuvre in tight spots, it’s light but sturdy, and cuts very well. Super purchase.

I am no connoisseur of hedge cutters and I confess that I bought both on brand and price. The bottom line is that it does the job well, and that’s what counts.
Easy to use.
We have only cut 3 hedges but this seems great. I don’t think it would cut through thickish branches – it’s probably not meant to – but is doing a good job of our twice-a-year privet cut.
CARE WITH CABLE
This does what it says on the tin. BUT a corded trimmer always has problems with cable management. If I were cutting hedges all the time instead of once a year I would always favour cordless. As it is, I plan the cable routes very carefully.

Very value does a good job
Cut my hedge in no time and was just the job.excellent more power than my battery operated one but you have to be carefull not to cut through the mains lead.
Useful for a small garde
I was looking for corded hedge trimmers as I had previously had cordless and found them heavy. These are reasonably lightweight and seemed to be well recommended by others. As long as you look out for the cord they are fine for use in a small garden.

Never used one before. Relieved to see even someone as tiny as me can handle it. Won’t help with stumps and branches, but great with offshoots. Great that you need to keep both red buttons pressed for it to work. Nice, large handle. Decent size cable.

Small and Lightweigh
The baby of the line-up. Very small and lightweight. Underpowered though, so for those want to cut more than light bushes, go for the bigger more powerful models.
Cuts hedges!
At a reasonable price, this machine does it’s job with the minimum of pain. Blade is long enough to work quickly, but not so long as to be unwieldy. Not too much vibration, and not too heavy. As it is a Bosch I would expect it to last well, but early days for that. You have to use two hands to work it, so safe against cutting stray fingers off, and the cable colour contrasts well with the hedge. It was delivered just in it’s flimsy original box, with a label stuck on, but nothing was lost or damaged. Sadly it doesn’t stop my hedge from growing, though, so nearly time for a second outing!

As other reviewers have said, the potential for cutting the cable on this model is pretty high. Need to wrap the cord around your wrist or hand before pressing the trigger. This solves the issue but need to learn the habit.

makes swift work of hedges and bushes. Easy to hold and shape. Size of teeth and power means that quite thick (approx 8mm) stems can easily be cut.

Also very disappointed with the flimsy cover for the blades that comes with it. As you can see from the pictures it is very inadequate and would have expected better from a brand like BORSCH. It has a slit along the entire length that both ends are open. I actually took the cover from my old flymo hedge trimmer which has a solid cover which screws the cover into place. Luckily it’s fits and screws in place on this trimmer too.

I have a high dense laurel hedge that was cut back quite severely with a bush cutter last year. I find that too heavy to use and wanted something more lightweight that I can use more frequently to keep the hedge under control. These were ideal and very good value. They tackled the hedge really well and I’m very pleased with the purchase.
