Purchased this to replace two old watches that were showing faults.
There are many variants of the Wave Ceptor, the price varies from around 30.00 up to 200.00 plus. This one is the Titanium model.
I chose this one because of the easy adjustment of the bracelet. Using the tool supplied or a suitable diameter rod, its one of the easiest adjustments that I have seen. I removed 5 links to fit my wrist.
Some reviewers have complained about the plastic part of the watch. The main chassis is probably engineering grade polycarbonate. This is clad in either stainless steel or titanium. The non metal part is hardly visible when the watch is worn.
Mine was almost fully charged on arrival, and was showing the correct time and date, but it was set to Paris and not London.
Very easy to to reset to your country. Be sure to switch on DST, Daylight Saving Time. This may be the reason other reviewers have complained that the watch is an hour out. For EU models I am pretty sure that the default is Paris.
The instruction book is very small , multi language, and with a very small font. The downloaded PDF file is not much better, but you can always enlarge sections.
The VLF time signal now comes from Anthorn in Cumbria . It used to come from Rugby. All details are on their website.
Casio claim plus or minus 15 seconds a month or better accuracy. I have checked mine and it matches one of the online Atomic Clock time checkers.
I have not checked any of the alarms as I do not have any real use for them.
The LED dial light works well. The hands are luminous, have not tried these as yet as the watch was only delivered an hour ago.
I think it’s pretty good value.
It is a bit large but is still very comfortable to wear and the bonus is that it does everything, I know as I have had a similar model for over 5 years now and It has never let me down no worry about changing batteries, making adjustments for daylight saving time and always dead on time. It is not the easiest to set up, not helped by the the very small multilingual book of instructions fortunately the only thing I had to set from new was my home city which was not too difficult.
worth every penny go get it light never wrong and no need for battery .could be the only watch you ever need but not the one you ever wa
Excellent watch never needs setting or a battery.. Second wavecepto watch I’ve has last one over 10years never off my wrist.
great product good value for a genuine “water proof” watch
great product good value for a genuine “water proof” watch
Great looking watch and just what I wanted ie digital and analogue. Just need to keep it in the sun for a while to make sure it charges to ‘Hi’.
Was looking for a simple watch which would give me day/date (perpetual!) and not need tending, and this fits the bill. Would be nicer if it was 100% titanium, with a sapphire face, but for the price it is very acceptable. Arrived synced to Paris time, and last radio update was 1/Sep last year, but the time was still accurate +/- a minute.
Bracelet adjustment is non-standard, but works well (tool provided), and watch picks up UK time signal from my bedside table (rather adjacent to multiple tablets, phones, and sundry bits of Bluetooth/Wifi), so try that before you go with the whole ‘face the 12 o’clock dial position to a window’ nonsense, which you may need elsewhere in the world, behind a mountain, inside a steel box.
Instruction ‘brick’ is not illegible, and not unduly complex, but fewer/bigger pages would have been nicer. I bought this one because there were no simple/cheap Citizens which receive UK time signal (most of the ones I found were Germany/USA only). The digital display looks a bit retro, but makes setting the watch (alarms, time zone, etc) 1000% easier than trying to do it all via hand positions.
LED is bright enough, but ‘steetlight orange’ rather than white. Beep is audible .. enough so that I turned it off for button presses, but I would not rely on it to wake me up for anything important.
And in titanium (and plastic .. sorry ‘resin’) it is extremely light and easy on the wrist.
This is the second waveceptor, that I have purchased . The first being about eight years ago. I find this one slightly lighter to wear, and a more comfortable bracelet. The bracelet is very easy to adjust, no visits to a jeweler required, the tool provided does the job in minutes. Provided that one sets up the Home country first and then do a manual receive of the time signal, set up is straight forward. The watch display is excellent.
I am very pleased with the purchase. I have found that placing the watch under an LED desk lamp, has charged the solar battery from Mid to Hi in the time that it has taken to type this review.
I had a similar watch to this previously which lasted many years. The solar panel was a new feature which wasn’t on the old one. I wondered how it would last in a Scottish winter but I have had it a few weeks now and the battery is still showing full charge. The sync to the time signal is much stronger and more frequent too. A bit of a bargain.
An excellent watch with a very easy method of altering the size of the metal strap. Once you set the country, which is very easy the watch keeps very accurate time.
This item was delivered as an evening delivery. It comes packed in a tin box (presumably to stop the radio setting switching watch on and flattening battery. Once removed from the box it immediately springs to life and sets itself to the correct time. As said in another review, I set the time area to London which resulted in it resetting to an hour slow, but, overnight, it put itself right. The instruction book is thick but very small and difficult to read, so I download the 9 page PDF which can enlarge on-screen to read more easily. The instructions are full and easy to follow and in proper English. I had to remove 3 links from the wrist band and this has to be the easiest band to change with a supplied tool and simple instructions, took me less than 5 minutes. The watch is comfortable to wear, easy to read, and looks much better than in the illustration. I was dubious about a solar charged/radio setting watch after I bought an Acctim which was a total nightmare until it expired after 6 months. This watch looks better, feels better and is 100% easier to operate and, as a Casio, I expect it to give long service.
As supplied the watch battery charge was shown as ‘mid’, I will see how it charges, but if charge gets too low it switches off unnecessary operations – a brilliant idea. I may buy a solar charger for those long winter nights but will see how it charges in the meantime.
As I say very pleased with my purchase, any problems and I will update this review.
Update. For dark winter days, to recharge battery, instead of buying an expensive LED charger I have one of these which charges from MID to HI in a few hours: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-Night-Keyboard-Computer-Outdoor-Warm/dp/B01LVXMGVW/ref=sr_1_1
Love this watch, looks great, very comfy to wear and, of course, it keeps perfectly accurate time
Nice watch. Easy to see hands. Excellent timekeeper. Useful extras. My only concern would be that I now have a very small scratch on the face of the watch. I worked outside before retirement so maybe more an office/dress watch.
Brilliant watch. 1 problem. The strap was to big. Nothing serious thou. Took 5 minutes to solve

Very good watch the only thing is that I was expecting the case to be fully stainless steel as it stated
Excellent gents watch with solar power and radio time keeping. My every day essential.
Excellent gents watch with solar power and radio time keeping. My every day essential.
An excellent item bought at a very good price. Obtained my first of these 2010 as a retirement gift for myself. This one bought for my brother. I’m sure he will appreciate it.
Better than expected, slightly heavier than the titanium version, but nice to feel it on the wrist. Charges under artificial light as well, got lots of extras that I don’t use, very nice night illumination, worth the money, certainly gives the appearance of a much more expensive watch than it is, very happy with the purchase.
Beautiful watch . I had their previous wave captor for more than 10 years. This one looks even bette
Terrific watch and great value for money. Has all the features expected of much more expensive watches. Light on the wrist and on the pocket too !
I was a little hesitant to order this after reading some reviews on the difficulty in adjusting the strap but I found it to be the easiest and quickest method I have ever known. I am well pleased with this watch does everything I wanted, with the added benefit of seeing the battery charge indication, which will allow me to avoid running out of juice.
Really excellent. Exactly what I was looking for. The strap adjustment system is brilliant.
good looking watch with lots of functions.titanium is much lighter than the steel I had previously on an older casio watch and is worth the extra. Very good value for money compared to other well known brands on a like for like basis. the strap is a dodle to alter with the tool supplied. With the waterproof and radio controlled timekeeping, it’s a bargain. very pleased with my purchase.
Does what it says on the tin. A strap adjuster is included with the watch, very easy to use.
Clear, easy to read, and (once set for LONdon, not PARis as the watch arrived set to) easy to operate. The main chore was getting the battery charged up enough to remain in the HI level; I did this over a weekend by exposing the watch to as much sunlight/daylight as possible, and leaving it on an east-facing window to catch the morning sun before I get up.
One useful tip for those of us who can’t stand/understand the MM/DD format that most Casios force on us – including this one. Simply set it to show Day Name and Day Number – so the 20th March (assuming it’s a Thursday) would be Th 20 on the little LCD display (two letters for day; again it’s a little display) instead of 6/20. The lack of a month I can handle – I normally know what month I’m in, despite my advanced years (56), but occasionally the day itself or the day number elude me.
The link extraction tool supplied is simple and very effective.
I don’t know whether the glass is scratch resistant (a few reviewers think not, so I’m being careful), but no scratches yet. A fewmonths on and it’s still pretty much scratch free, but I think that’s partly luck.
Time keeping is as you would expect from a radio synchronized watch. Just make sure (in the UK) that the world zone is LON and not GMT as the latter will not move forward/back in March and October.
Edit: No problems with the watch but unfortunately it’s taken one bump too many on the glass and has a 1/4″ scratch at about 44:40 on the dial. A pity, as I really like this watch, and will be investigating jewellers who may be able to buff out the scratch. If not I’m interested in the sapphire dial version as I still like the way this watch works.
I bought this watch for work for three main reasons, the metal strap, waterproof and the face is meant to be scratch resistant. My work is manual and outdoors. This is the most I have paid for a watch for work. I have usually bought the cheap Casio with the plastic strap and while the watch was fine, the strap would break within a year and it was very often cheaper to buy another replacement than a new strap, which I began to feel was wasteful. The watch came nicely packaged, the instructions were easy to follow as was shortening the strap with the tool provided. Setting the watch was easy. I use a watch to tell the time and for the date, so will probably never use the other functions, therefore I can’t comment on those. Overall I am very happy with the watch and seems robust. While I am still ‘aware’ I am wearing a new watch the face is still as clear as the first time I put it on. Although it is still early days, which is why I have given four stars and not five.
I bought this as a present for my husband. He absolutely loves it. It not only looks very stylish but it has all the functions to keep a gadget geek happy!
Was a present for a neighbour from his partner. He is absolutely delighted with it. If my current watch packs up, I will probably buy one for myself.
Excellent watch, lightweight and accurate but watch ‘glass’ can be easily scratched.
I’m very happy with this watch. It does what it says on the tin. It keeps very accurate time based on the radio signal. I know some people have stated that they found it difficult to adjust the strap. I thought the instructions were sufficient and I found it straightforward to remove links from the strap with the simple tool. The watch is very lightweight – I like that you hardly know that you’re wearing it. As others have commented, the alarm is not very loud – so probably best not to rely on it waking you up
i have had this watch for a year now, the only functions i use is to tell the time and date, i have had absolutely no problems with this watch so far, it has worked perfectly, this is the best watch i have owned, very happy
My previous solar powered watch was accurate but bulky and certainly not smart. This one is the complete opposite in looks. It is smart enough to wear anywhere and extremely accurate. I’m impressed with the power saving aspect and the watch charges quickly and easily on the dullest of days. Overall this was an excellent purchase and I wish I had bought it a long time ago.
There is something very reassuring about the Wave-ceptor concept – synchronised withan atomic clock nightly, you can be confident that it is always right on time. Why would you want a time piece you set yourself that is at risk of being wrong? I had an earlier model Casio waveceptor for around twelve years and when it finally expired I went straight to the current model. It is solar powered now, so no battery failure every couple of years, which is great, and the face is slightly bigger than old models. Most important, the links in the bracelet are a breeze to shorten, another chore to cross off the list. It costs a little less with a ordinary material strap, but I like the simplicity of the metal click in place. The perfect watch, which for something you wear 24 hours a day year in year out, is a reliable friend.
Does what it says on the tin. Updates itself each night and is always bang on to the second with the time.
Lovely looking watch . Comes with gadget for shortening wristband which was easy to do .
Easy to set up as well so far keeps excellent time no need for resetting all the time . All in
All in all this is an excellent purchase and would highly recommend it . Service was super
fast s watch arrived within 2 days of ordering .
Does what it says on the tin. Updates itself each night and is always bang on to the second with the time.
A very nice looking watch with all the technology you need.Only downside is that it is complicated to set up and the guide book
print is so small you need a magnifying glass to read it which is difficult to do and try to set up the watch at the same time.
quiet impress with the watch. radio controlled. changes auto from BST and also across different time zones. looks nice.
my only reservation is the manual says to place watch in direct sunlight. we do not have much of the in the winter in UK. so will have to wait and see how long the battery last. I will update after 6months
Not had to touch anything from the moment it arrived. Adjusted for GMT automatically. Super watch.
A really excellent watch, not needing battery replacement nor correction of time indication. It also provides many other support features, like 5 alarm functions for example. Ruggedly made and a very attractive looking timepiece. Also a very clear and simple analogue dial, with an exceptionally clear and easy-to-read digital display. Altogether, an exceptional watch, outstanding in its class. Excellent value for money.
Just one adverse comment. The alarm signal is so faint that it fails to demand one’s attention as an alarm essentially should do. And therefore is virtually useless. When it goes off I don’t even notice it.
Great watch. I only take it off when having a shower or going to bed. Love the cleaver and easy way you can adjust the fit of the strap. The only minor complaint is that the second hand is out of sync with the accurate digital seconds display.
Originally bought this watch with black strap but I sent it back because I didn’t like the strap, then I bought this with stainless strap. Much better. The face is more grey than blue, but it still looks good. The time has to be configured manually at first which took about 5 minutes. When it’s found a signal the hands move rapidly to the correct time. I left the watch near the window in sunlight for several hours to charge the battery. Since then it’s kept the exact time, to the second, and the battery has remained on high. The best watch I’ve ever had. Good buy.
Watch arrived as advised six weeks ago. Worked straight from the tin with no adjustment necessary. Accurate as expected and all other functions work well. Very light weight and comfortable to wear. The system for adjusting the wrist band is very easy to work with. Considering the price it is good value for money and I would recommend it to a prospective buyer.

I’m really impressed with this watch. It does absolutely everything I want in an everyday watch for work.
I had an old Citizen Eco Drive solar watch with a titanium case that I must have had for about 12 years. It looks battered now (titanium does pick up scratches quite easily) but is still going strong – but the face looks a little small today. When I started looking around for a replacement I quickly came up with a wishlist – looks nice, waterproof, solar powered, atomic clock sync, titanium, affordable. The number of watches that fall into this category is really small, in fact this Casio WVA-M640TD-1AER is the only one I found and liked.
It arrived last night in a really smart metal tin, together with a really thick instruction book with tiny writing in it. I found the instruction manual you can download off the Casio website much clearer and easier to follow. It was quite straight forward to change the time zone to LON and change the world time so it shows Orlando for our next holiday.
The bracelet is a work of genius – really easy to adjust without taking into a shop using the special tool supplied.
The watch looks great on my wrist. I like the titanium finish – yes there are parts of the watch in plastic but that just adds to the really light weight I’d hoped for with a titanium case and strap.
The watch goes to sleep at night and makes me smile when the lights come on, it wakes up and the second hand sweeps around the dial.
I love the thought that it’s the most accurate watch I own even if it’s the cheapest. Never having to adjust the date or change for daylight savings time is just a bonus. I thoroughly recommend this.
Great watch that we got for a really great price. This was for my husbands Christmas present after his one and only adult watch finally died after almost 10 years. He was very particular about what he wanted and this fit the bill perfectly! The clasp is great and will last a long time. I love that you customize the band links, and how easy it was to do this. Hubby gets a kick out of the GPS feature too!
Bought it as a present for my dad and i think he loves it. its a very clever watch but the instructions manual should help with any problems
It does everything it claims to do, it’s super-accurate, and adjusting the stainless steel wristband was an absolute doddle with the tool provided. I was glad, though, that I’d downloaded the manual and read it before the watch arrived – the book that comes with it uses a very small typeface and the on-screen PDF version is much easier on ageing eyes.
I have something like this already, but this is much better. People that complain this thing has a bit too much plastic should bear in mind that radio waves wouldn’t penetrate something made of solid metal, and if my old model is anything to go by this should last forever. I paid about 70 for it, so over 100 is a bit steep.
An excellent watch.keeps time well as well as giving day and date. Fully automatic. My idea of a good watch.
Firstly delivery was unbelievably fast and the watch itself is excellent, solar powered radio controlled.Strap adjustment is really simple all you need is a small flat headed screwdriver. On the back of the strap you will see on a ,few of the links, a small circle insert screwdriver and turn and the link will be released, brilliant idea. Also its really shiny too.
Nice watch, good size face and date for those with poor eyes. Easy to adjust strap, came with a tool so you can do it yourself. No worries about setting the time of replacing the battery.
Nice watch which seems to work very well on radio controlled time. It leapt into action as soon as I removed it from the packaging. It set itself to the correct time immediately but I went through the set-up anyway and initiated a manual search for the time signal. Took about 5 mins to detect and set the time. Set-up for various functions is slightly arcane but once you know which buttons do what it is fine.
Much lighter than I was expecting but that is clearly because the body is actually plastic with a stainless steel skin but it is not that noticeable and does not make it look cheap and nasty. The light is yellow and you can see the analogue hands OK but it is no good for the LED display as it is too bright for your eyes to adjust in darkness to see the display. Haven’t tried the alarm function yet. Back suggests it is also water-resistant to 10 bar.
Strap is comfortable and sensibly proportioned. It has a GREAT adjustment mechanism that allows links to be removed/replaced in seconds using the little plastic tool included. This is so effective I cannot understand how this is the first time I have come across it.
Fully charges easily in a day and normal wear keeps it that way.
Accuracy seems spot-on. I checked it against a number of other radio controlled clocks I have and it matches precisely. Likewise with the BBC time pips on a non-DAB radio. Interestingly I have two identical Acctim radio controlled wall clocks which were BOTH exactly 2 seconds out (fast) from this watch and the four other independent devices I checked. I had been blaming the BBC for years for being 2 seconds out but it looks like the Acctims are wrong ! I actually have a third Acctim (sad I know) that is similar but without the glow in the dark display and that is spot-on.
Superb watch, light weight, perfect timekeeping and remarkable efficacy in capturing solar power in spite of regularly hidden by a cuff!. Right out of the tin (actual-not metaphoric!). Needed correct zone input after that perfect. Delivery was unimpressive. Hitherto my Prime orders are delivered within 24 hours. This one took five days. Would have been cheaper and quicker to have ordered direct from the watch hut. That was disappointing (caveat emptor).
Why people pay fortunes for Swiss movements I don’t know. Always accurate, no winding, no battery – brilliant.
Looks great . Feels comfortable. Needed a watch without large buttons so this one is perfect.
I have the older version of this, 4/5 yrs, still going well. Purchased a new one for Sundays. Ha Ha!
A great watch, everything perfect although I would have liked it to be heavier. A bargain at 79. You won’t regret buying this watch
The watch is very comfortable to wear and looks smart without being flash. It adjusted to the correct time straight out of the box. The tool provided for altering the strap length was very easy to use. There are also a host of useful features that you don’t get with much more expensive watches such as world time, countdown timer and a back-light (I haven’t had one of those since my last digital watch 20+ years ago!). If it lasts as well as my last Casio I will be well pleased.
Had the watch a few days – very impressed.
Easy to adjust strap with the tool provided
Had to set time zone to London – instantly corrected the time
Battery shows fully charged all the time
Light and comfortable to ware – I have a small wrist but it’s good
Instructions a bit small – I downloaded one from the web site
The clocks change this weekend – I will not have to change mine !!!
Very pleased with this watch
Always right and easy to read. I bought the black face first and liked it so much I bought the blue face one as well. Only slight complaint would be that the blue face is not as blue as the picture and is very similar to the black one.
Fantastic watch ! It’s a the newer model of the one I’ve had for years and it doesn’t dissapoint ! re-moddelled slightly and a slight button layout change. This is a great, resilient and reliable watch which I would highly recommend to anyone.
After reading the reviews and considering the main criteria for purchasing a watch I cannot fault this product. Criteria was for a watch that is to the second accurate, easy to read, light on the wrist, reasonably priced, quality build and no maintainance. To that end it scores 5* and can’t fault it. It looks better than the picture shows and as per other comments the small link tool is a great consideration from the vendor.
An excellent watch in everyway with one minor exception. You need to have good hearing in order to hear the alarm.
I wanted a watch that kept immaculate time and needed no adjustment for month endings. BST, or leap years, a watch with a clear day and date, unlike others which you had to peer into a tiny rectangle deep in the dial, one with a good illumination which lit up the whole dial, not just a section and this is it. Also pleased with the provision of a link removal gadget which enabled me to get just the fit I wanted.
My only gripe was with delivery. In the past I have always had free delivery where possible and been pleasantly surprised with the speed of service.
This time however, I chose to pay for standard delivery and had to wait 6 days for it. Can’t win them all I suppose.
All iin all an excellent buy.
Smart looking, good features including countdown timer. Digital display can show day/date. No problems with solar cell keeping watch fully charged. Strap very easy to adjust. Highly recommended.
Worked straight out of the box. Set it up as per manual, adjusted strap using supplied tool and exposed/placed it in sunlight.Took two days to achieve ‘HI’ charge status from an initial ‘MID’ status. overall I am very pleased with this watch.
Fantastic watch delivered quickly. Well worth the money and easily setup. Probably the only watch you’ll ever need to own if it keeps going as it is.
Light and good looking, but clasp has a sharp edge which sometimes pinches the skin.
Great never to have to replace the battery and loose the water proofing. Easier to adjust than the original model.
Having had an earlier version in blue some 8 or more years ago and a grey face version over the last 4 years, it is a joy to have a blue face again! I only wish, as many customers have said, that the face is fully back-lit, as in the first of these 3 that I have had.
After looking at the specification of many watches, this watch did the best to satisfy my needs, and I have not been disappointed.
Quite a traditional watch, brilliant technology – solar backed battery, radio control – light – titanium. Really easy to adjust the wristband. I am really pleased with it. An 2/3 of the price in the local high street jewellers.
This watch is an update on my current Casio, the improvements appear to be a new watch lense and improved illumination.
This watch is an update on my current Casio, the improvements appear to be a new watch lense and improved illumination.
Excellent clock, easy to read and very smart with extra light. BUT this is a clock with alarm and timer and the beeper is hardly audible! Unbelievable! Here they should have choices for different sound level. Everything else with this watch indicates 5 stars, except this mistake unfortunately. Therefore 4 stars ..
However; Delivery took 30 hours ordering from U.K. until I had the package at my front door here in Norway. It is really impressive!!
Over the years I have had a few C asio watches. Waveceptors are to me the ultimate. Solar powered Ceptors. are to me the bees Knees.. Beautful machinery!
This was brought for my husband as a Christmas present. He was so pleased with it and even more so when he found out it also has a back light. Customer service was excellent as it arrived within a couple of days – thank you
This watch looks even nicer on the wrist than the pictures indicate, although in most lights the face is more of a slate colour than a blue. Importantly, the hands and the date and other information are very easy to read (I cannot understand why people pay thousands for a watch that cannot be easily read or you have to squint to see the date in a tiny little window). It’s very easy to set up and the bracelet is easy to adjust using the “tool” that comes in the box. It’s got all the features you could want and it’s great to know that the battery isn’t going to go flat, the time is correct to the second, it will change itself to summer time and I won’t have to remember to adjust the date when there isn’t 31 days in the month (unlike my previous more expensive watch that broke). The watch is surprisingly light but that’s not a bad thing. The only downside (but not enough to give less than 5 stars) is that the alarm is so quiet and high pitched that I can’t hear it (but I am a bit deaf). My son could hear it and wondered why I didn’t turn it off – while I was thinking it wasn’t working!
Bought as a gift & the recipient is very happy. Being titanium it is light & stylsh. As a Waveceptor the time is updated daily from an atomic clock It is solar powered (no need to change the battery) and has a LED to read the time in the dark. (The hands are also luminous). The watch has a stopwatch, 5 alarms and a countdown timer. With a phone these features are less valuable today but are still handy. However, this is stylish, accurate and liked by the recipient.
Had this for a year now. Excellent watch. Utterly reliable time piece. So light you hardly know you have it on. The watch glass has proven to be very scratch resistant. You could argue that the grey plastic bits spoil the look but I understand that the radio signals need to get in somewhere. Only wish that the LCD was illuminated as well as the face when you press the appropriate button.
The first watch sent was faulty but a replacement was sent by return from Amazon – excellent service. The watch is first class and and does everything one could possibly want. Highly recommended
I received my Casio watch today and I have already found out how to adjust time manually if necessary! It is quite easy to use and the instructions booklet is very detailed and informative. The watch itself is not anything fancy, but it is all I expected it to be! It is true that the dial looks grey and not blue and that there are some pieces of plastic at the back of the case and at the front, but all this I already knew before ordering my watch, because I had thoroughly read the reviews written by other customers who had bought this watch before me! Note that this watch has a very long band (huge for my hand I might say!), but I have very easily adjusted its length using the special little tool which I found in my Casio’s box! So now, only a few hours after receiving my Casio, I am already wearing it on my wrist and I am very happy about it! I really believe it’s worth the money I gave!
everything you want in a watch ! perfect timekeeping, battery never needs changing , lightweight ,and goodlooking , easy to read dial…. I wont go on and on ! Oh! and the watchstrap is so easy to adjust…. I’m 71 years of age, I I did it in seconds ! Love this watch !
After years of searching for the perfect watch I finally have found it! Light Stainless steel, easy to adjust bracelet ,water proof, scratch resistant face, solar powered, self adjusting time that is always accurate and a date that I can actually read without glasses! Brilliant and great value.
If I know I have to get up at a certain time then I have an ‘in-built’ alarm which wakes me 5 mins before any external alarm clocks wake me. So every work morning I’m awake before this watch alarm goes off & i get to witness how feeble the ‘peep, peep’ noise is. I let it sound & it doesn’t even wake the wife! Apart from the alarm ( or lack of ) I highly rate it its other features & design. Perhaps I just got a duff one?
Stylish, easy to adjust strap…and of course unfailingly-accurate. Bargain at this price.
you need a degree of computoring to understand the instructions but received the know how from casio which was very easy to follow so FULL MARKS to casio
Have been looking for a solar powered, radio controlled watch for some time, and came across this particular Casio model whilst browsing the Amazon website. As other reviewers have mentioned, the titanium strap makes the whole watch ‘as light as a feather’, and the ability to be able to adjust the strap so easily with the ‘adjustment tool’ provided is a real bonus. The clean, elegant looks, coupled with the aforementioned solar powered, radio controlled functions make this particular model well worth the money I paid (the price fluctuates, but I got it cheaper than the blue faced, steel bracelet model by monitoring the price on the Amazon website. A real bargain!!)
You get what you pay for! A little more expensive than other equivalent products but does exactly what is promised. The solar battery charges up quickly under artificial light (essential in the current murky winter days) and the watch instantly connected with the time signal transmitter. Taking links out of the bracelet to fit my small wrist was a joy with the removal tool included.
I’ve had this watch for 6 months and I can say it’s an outstanding time piece. I have the titanium version, the gray looks very classy and the plastic lower case blends in nicely with rest of the case. It has many useful functions such as, timer, world time, alarms solar powered and a led light . The most important feature of the watch is that it’s radio controlled. The accuracy is right down to a split second. Last summer I was in the USA and the watch was picking up the calibration signal from Fort Collins colorado because it’s multi band. It’s quite light weight you can hardly feel it on your wrist. But at the same time it’s very robust and will withstand any type of activities you might want to engage in. There are other watchs on the market with similar features that will cost you thousands of pounds.
Casio WVA-M640TD-1AER Men’s Quartz Watch with Grey Dial Analogue – Digital Display and Silver Titanium Case Metal Bracelet
Great looking watch, good price. It looks great. Is very light weight and the bracelet is so easy to alter to size. Casio provides a little plastic tool for removing/replacing links. Childs play really. Thirty seconds and three links removed, so clever. (the watch, not me)
Yes the case is partly plastic but so what? Took it out off it’s tin and it adjusted to the correct time.
For the money it’s a great choice.
Citizen radio controlled watches may use less plastic but they cost two to three times the price of this little gem.
Best watch i have had to date. Meets all my requirements:
– looks good
– light weight
– accurate
– useful features – stop watch, world time, egg timer etc
– fluorescent dial and a light
I opted to buy this over a smart watch due to their poor battery life and odd looks
Previous watch was Rolex Explorer 2 which was an excellent piece of jewellery but an average watch. I may buy an evening watch but wife says the Casio is smart enough for evening.
My only criticism is the case is made of resin which looks a bit cheap but I assume this helps make it lighter and allow the radio reception with atomic clock
So a first class everyday watch
I bought this watch after a lot of research. My previous watch was a Casio WVA 430TE with a very similar spec which disappointed me for several reasons. However, after looking at all the alternatives and reading good reviews, I decided to purchase the WVA M64D. I love it. Main considerations for purchase were Solar, Waterproof & Radio Timekeeping, but I was concerned about quality of some features that disappointed in my former watch. These were how luminous the face in the dark, the face light and the quality of the case and strap which were poor in my previous titanium watch. All these features are good in this one and a bonus was how easy it is to adjust the strap and remove strap links. A small tool is provided that works great and you can remove links in seconds. Also a nice feel on the wrist. It looks good! A small difference to all the pictures is that the blue screen is not as vivid as depicted. Looks more like a dark blue.
Superb quality, excellent price and very stylish. I wanted a solar power, radio controlled , titanium case and strap watch. This ticks ALL those boxes, and more…..! Day & Date, 5 Alarms, World time, Stopwatch and countdown timer. It even comes with a tool to remove bracelet links, so no need to go to a jeweller if it’s too big. Absolutely first class product, and delivered on a SUNDAY, less than 24 hours after I ordered it. I couldn’t be more satisfied. 5 Stars all the way.
Watch is good and buttons are not to hard to figure out what does what.as you would expect excellent timekeeper.even here in Scotland solar power keeps it charged.
I have to agree with the other reviews; it’s so light (65g) compared to my previous waveceptor (148g) and the band adjustment is so much easier! Best watch I’ve ever had.
I love this watch. My old Casio radio controlled waterproof watch had done over 12 years of good service but changing the batteries was a pain and the waterproof seal had gone. My new WVA-M640D-2AER is extremely stylish and comfortable and the solar powered batteries are keeping it fully charged. It is lovely to go swimming without having to take my watch off. It is also a lot easier than my old watch to change the time zone when I go on holiday.
