Das Gert macht das was es machen soll, es ffnet die Luke und lsst bei Tagesanbruch die Hhner in den Freilauf. Beschreibung ist gut verstndlich, und Anbau bei meinem Holzschuppen problemlos.

As a fist time chicken raiser, I saw this product in YouTube videos and read reviews here on Amazon and decided to get the “Extreme” model. It was simple to install, but the the programming was a bit unclear, so I called the company and was told to contact their customer service person for the United States, which I did. Phone in hand he asked me to go to my device and he walked me through the process in seconds. He was very nice and told me to call any time.
We have now been using the Chicken Guard for three months and it has never failed to open or close. We love the security and convenience it provides.
Unit is great. Well built. Fast shipping. Contacted company with small shipping issue caused by COVID 19. They immediately fixed the situation. Great customer service. Instructions are good and easy to follow.
I would buy this again.
This unit is very straightforward to install. It took no more than ten minutes to attach it to my coop and then to the coop door. From there it took maybe five minutes with the instruction manual at hand, and I had set the open and close heights.
The timer and light sensing features are straightforward and easy to adjust. I appreciate its ability to display the current light level and how easy it is to adjust how much light is required to trigger the door to open or close.
My only complaint is that I required an adapter to be able to connect to mains power. The description on Amazon as well as the user manual and the official product website all state that it connects to mains power via USB. I separately purchased a male-to-male USB cable and a wall adapter before learning that it wasn’t as simple as the instructions indicated. After exchanging a few emails with their prompt and friendly customer service team, I was informed that I needed another adapter to go between the USB cable and the door opener. They mailed it to me free of charge.
I have no regrets about the purchase of this product, but it was a mild frustration to me that I had to converse with customer service, await international shipping, and install an adapter in order for me to use a feature that was supposed to come standard.
After installation of the adapter, this product has been working without issue for almost two weeks as of the time of my writing this.
Funktioniert wie er soll.
Habe ihn jetzt 2 Jahre im Einsatz und vor kurzem funktionierte er nicht mehr. Eine Mail an Chicken Guard reichte und ich bekam einen neuen Motor. Dieser war sehr einfach zu wechseln und nun funktioniert er wieder wie am ersten Tag. Der Service ist sehr gut und schnell.
Il fonctionne avec 4 pile, elle sont fournis mais ne tiennent pas, du coup je vous conseille de mettre des neuves si vous ne voulez pas y revenir.
Vous pouvez rgler l’ouverture et la fermeture avec des heures choisi ou laisse faire le soleil ! Ou les 2!
Si vous avez comme moi une porte en bois prvoyez un crochet a visser sur la porte. Et plus besoin de vous lever a l’aube pour ouvrir au poule, et si vous tes invits, pas besoin de rentrer tt pour les fermer. En somme c le tope. Certe c’est un peu cher mais cela vaut le coup.

Reu dans les temps , a voir dans le temps mais pour le moment le produit tiens les promesse annoncer , un poil chre mais l lectronique reste souvent un peux onreux .
Je l’ai depuis quasi un an. Il en a vu de toutes les intempries! Leve une petite porte en bois qui coulisse pas super sans broncher. J’ai chang les piles avant l’hiver mais je crois qu’elles taient encore bonnes. Un must quand on a des poules. Super fiable. Les poules rentrent toutes seules le soir, ca ferme et elles sont en scurit.
Produit facile installer, voir sa dure dans le temps, cependant pour le prix j’aurais aim que tout fonctionne, or ma dconvenue le capteur de lumire est bloqu, il fallait entrer un code PIN pour le dverrouiller. Aprs prise de contact, excuses du vendeur et fourniture du code dans l’heure ( signaler). Mais un contrle qualit aurait t souhaitable avant envoi, c’est pourquoi je ne peux mettre 5 toiles.

I purchased my first one for my chicken coop and it has given me so much peace of mind. We purchased the second one for our dog kennel so they could get in and out of the kennel into their play area. It’s great knowing I can sleep in and my animals are safe and not waiting on me.

Installato da un mese funziona fa egregiamente il suo lavoro anche se ho impiegato un po’ di tempo per capire bene come impostarlo.
Al momento sono molto soddisfatto e mi risolve il problema dell’apertura e della chiusura senza stare in ansia quando non sono presente .
Lo consiglio anche se il prezzo mi sembra un po’ alto.
En remplacement d’un autre modle d’une marque concurrente qui m’a lch au bout de 4 mois, rglage simple et intuitif, fait son job, aucun soucis pour lever la porte ( modle porte 3 kg ). Mes poules en sont ravies enfin je prsume!
I really like these, I’ve had other makes, but this one has very simple set up, it is reliable, and the override buttons are easy to use. We have house sitters, and they have broken the other makes. It is expensive, but not having to replace them makes them a set up and forget option.

3 soirs maintenant que c’est install, il fait le job. J’ai opt pour ce modle car la porte coulissante fait 1,2 kg.
Le botier l’air solide et suffisamment protg pour l’extrieur, de qualit.
Un bmol, la lumire rouge clignote la fermeture ok, mais je n’ai pas de voyant indiquant que la porte est ferme pour la nuit contrairement au descriptif…
voir la dure de vie des piles, de doute que a tienne 6 mois… voir…
Pour l’heure mes cocottes sont heureuses de sortir l’aube
If you value your ease of life, buy this door opener! I can’t tell you what a blessing it is to not worry about putting the chickens to bed or getting up at the crack of dawn to let them out. I have left them for a weekend with plenty of food and water and they were perfectly fine. Door works great. Runs on AA batteries which last forever, you can choose to use the light sensor or the timer feature. It does not come with the actual door, so be prepared to attach it to an actual pop door you make or buy the kit separately. Totally worth its weight in gold.

Ma l’articolo vale la spesa. La qualit della nostra vita notevolmente migliorata (abitiamo in una zona a forte rischio volpi e faine e solo una parte del campo adeguatamente recintata), non dover aprire ogni mattina e non avere l’ossessione del rientro ogni sera…non ha prezzo! ChikenGuard semplicissimo da settare, occorre solo un piccolo impegno nel “fabbricarsi” la facciata col basculante…ma parliamo di un’oretta di lavoro!! ed il gioco fatto!

Ive tried a few different auto openers, this is the best by far. The setup is very easy, unlike some, the battery life is INSANE. I kept reminding myself to change battery as the winter was bound to kill the battery, it didnt, still going strong.
Very reliable, lifts my metal door with ease.
It is expensive, but its worth it, you just wont have to worry again.
Always felt guilty having sleep in knowing the chickens were desperate to get out & remembering every night (ESPECIALLY in the cold dark winters) going out & closing the coop… BUT this simple, effective, well built machine has changed all that!

j’ai dj le mme modle pour l’ouverture du poulailler et j’en suis trs satisfaite. Ayant rajouter une clture supplmentaire je peux permettre l’accs aux poules au reste du jardin partir de l’aprs midi (passage de voitures )

We just replaced our old ChickenGuard door opener, which we purchased about 2 years ago. After a hard winter it developed a problem and we sent it back for repairs. The people at ChickenGuard are extremely helpful. It came back and lasted almost another year before the sensor failed again, and ChickenGuard replaced it with a new one. The new one is working great, closing at dark and opening in the dawn. Sure beats trudging out to the coop in the early AM to let out a bunch of disgruntled birds who think you are way, way late. In the evening, I make sure they are all in the run and lock it up, and when the sun goes down everybody is safely roosting behind the closed pop door. No worries.

Simple to install, set up and use. Strong build. Just great. We bought the top model due to the heavy weight of our chicken house door. Currently just use the timer option which works really well for us.

Ho visto altre centraline (autocostruite e in commercio) e non c’ paragone; questo articolo davvero robusto e solido.
L’apparecchio davvero plug and play, basta inserire le batterie (in dotazione), avvitare al pollaio (viti incluse) settare l’ apertura (semplicit assoluta).
Il prezzo elevato, ma davvero ottimo.
Ho la versione extreme che a diferenza delle altre pu sollevere fino a 4kg e lavorare al freddo.
Occhio che la versione extreme, come la premium, ha il sensore crepuscolare mentre la standard no ce l’ha.
Per ora funziona regolarmente da qualche giorno.
ho comprato questo accessorio ca. un anno fa ed ero pi che soddisfatto delle sue prestazioni. fino pochi giorni fa funzionava senze problemi. ultimamente per cominciarono a spegnersi riga dopo riga del display. alla fine era illeggilile. dopo un breve mail alla casa produttrice via amazon hanno subito provveduta alla sostizuzione del pannello frontale e solo 2 giorni dopo arrivato il pacco con ups express. tutto a carico di chickenguard. sostituito il pannello frontale funziona nuovamente al 100%. non posso dire altro che azienda affidabile con servizio imbattibile.

Par exemple pas de sauvegarde de l’heure quand on change les piles.
Plus gnant, en cas d’alimentation externe, on retire les piles qui ,avec un minimum d’lectronique, pourraient suppler la disparition de la tension externe.(A la campagne, il y a des pannes de courants qui tombent mal)
L’indication porte ferme est visible par une led en face avant du boitier et thoriquement visible de loin sauf que ce n’est valable que si le boitier est tourn face avant vers votre domicile. En tant au dessus, cela aurait dj t plus universel mais un systme externe serait encore mieux.
A l’exeption de ces dtails , c’est pratique, facile configurer, assez costaud et bien protg contre l’humidit.

Fitted this to my hen house very easily, good instructions, easy menu system for setup. Clearly designed by people who know their hens (I really liked the door close delay to cater for our stopout hens!). It looks well constructed and will hopefully last a bit longer than VSB unit we last used. 3 year warranty so I’m quite hopeful.

I really like this product. It is a little high priced for what it is but it works great and I love not having to go out at night to lock the chickens up. It did error one night and did not close but I check it each night and shut it. I re-calibrated the door and it has not done it again. A tree blocks the flashing light that indicates it is closed so I put a strip of reflective tape across the bottom of the door and frame and can easily tell that it is open or closed with my flashlight from the house.
Wir haben den automatischen Trffner seit nun gut 6 Wochen. Bis dato macht er einen Klasse Job. Er ffnet und schliet zuverlssig bei Sonnenaufgang und bei Dmmerung. Die Bedienung ist kinderleicht. Wenn auf anderen Plattformen nach einer Neuanschaffung gefragt wird, empfehle ich immer dieses Produkt. Die Klappe ffnet und schliet langsam, so kann nichts passieren. Meist sind die Hhner aber schon im Stall, ehe die Klappe zu geht.

The Extreme Automatic Chicken Coop Door Opener is well made/designed and easy to fit and get going.
I think most users would (certainly to begin with) simply want the door to open at dawn and close at dusk, which means you have to buy the Premium or Extreme model. There are a number of advanced modes. Options like ‘if not shut via light sensor by a certain time then shut anyway’ may not be of much use as you could easily lock out your stock. I do like the fact you have the option to read the current lux value and set the door to operate exactly at that light level.
Unless you need heavy door lifting feature of this version, the Premium model is enough. Also, the VSB range (which I also have used effectively) simply do the job at 2/3rds this price and the basic model has the light sensor.
Convenient and easy to install! We recently went away for a week and had no issues with the opener. Everyone was accounted for when we returned. Anxious to see how it performs during the winter months when we reach -40!
This product does exactly what it says on the tin, no more dark early morning/evening treks down to open/close the chickens, well worth every penny. We can now have a few days away without having to worry.
easy to set up! The manual is very thick and intimidating…..but it’s in 7 languages!! Really four pages of instruction. I only had one glitch and it was my fault, never checked if it was am or pm….lol all set now works like a charm, we went away for 3 days and didn’t have to worry about my girls. ( we had someone feed and water, and collect eggs) ! All safe and sound!
We were going on a long vacation and didn’t want to worry about having someone come over twice a day just to open a chicken door! We found this Chickenguard automatic door and are so glad we did! It worked beautifully and was super simple to install. I love that it’s programmable so we can change the time of day that it opens/closes as the seasons change. I also love that it’s battery operated since we don’t have any electricity running out to the coop. Really happy with our purchase!
Update – after 2 years it still works just as well as the day we installed it. Highly recommend!
Works perfect and my hens are out at a safe time in the morning and up at dusk! Now I can have a life! I always made sure I was there in the early morning to let them out and right at dusk to put them up – now, I can rest easy knowing they are let out and put up each day exactly when I want them to be. This product is amazing and very dependable!

Me falta calibrar la hora de apertura para que la puerta se abra sobre las11:00 y as asegurar que ya han puesto los huevos en los nidales.
Calibrada la puerta y puesta la hora hay que moverse por “setting wizard” con la flecha de la derecha, no es necesario repetir ninguna operacin y se puede programar del modo deseado. Mucho ms fcil de lo que parece. Me cost entender las instrucciones.
I researched automatic door openers for 2 years before purchasing a Chicken Guard Extreme. I installed it on the nesting house and was so impressed that I purchased another one for the fenced encloser. Now I have 2 lines of defense against predators that doesn’t require me to open and close twice a day. It’s high quality and simple to program. It’s reliability has been rock solid. Although I haven’t yet put it through its first Minnesota trial, I’m confident it will work great with some common sense care when the weather is at its worst.

Montato e settato in qualche ora. Lo utilizzo con il sensore crepuscolare, per ora fa il suo lavoro. Sembra di buona fattura, buon prodotto.
Aggiungo di aver creato una piccola “tettoia” per proteggerlo da sole diretto e dalla pioggia battente. A parte questo, continua comunque a funzionare alla grande!
This thing rocks! I tried it out a week before I went away. It worked flawlessly. I thought that it had a problem because when I was setting it up and covered the photo cell it didn’t go down. When I tried it at night however it worked perfectly. My wife and I just got back from a week away. All the chickens are fine. They all went into the coop and the door is down. I don’t know how you can beat that!
Can’t say enough about this product.
I went with the extreme as I didn’t think about the door and how many pulleys I was going to need to use. And it has the usb power function.
If you have neighbors (as I do) you can set the door opening to whatever time you want. (after the rooster would start crowing) and then using the light setting for the door is awesome, with the safeguard that it will shut by a specific time.
The only thing I would like to see changed on this is the ability to mount it upside down and the display be able to be rotated (electronically).
I may end up having to mount it upside down at some point, but would have been nice if that was an option on the display.
But you will not be disappointed, as this is a must have.
Easy to fit and worked as intended right out of the box, opening and closing at the perfect times just using the light sensor. I had no room to fit the Chicken Guard right above the door but functions great using a few small pulleys to allow positioning to the side of the door.
The automatic coop door opener was really easy to install and the instructions were clear. I was able to do it myself in about 10 minutes. I am really happy with it as it did exactly what it was supposed to do bang on time last night and this morning. Fabulous piece of kit!

Wir hatten vorher die von Jostechnik, die war absolut sch……ging oft gar nicht, bld zu bedienen, keine Zuverlssigkeit auerdem ist die Kundenbetreuung sehr unfreundlich, nach einigen Reperaturen (halbes Jahr Unsicherheit und Ausprobieren und hin und her durch Reperaturen), ging sie trotzdem nicht. Es wurde der Gewhrleistungsanspruch geltend gemacht. NIE MEHR WIEDER JOSTECHNIK:
Die ChickenGuard wurde mit genau den gleichen Gegebenheiten montiert und funktioniert perfekt ohne Probleme tadellos ab dem ersten Tag.

Sistema di avvolgimento semplice e funzionante, regoli tu manualmente L apertura e lui la memorizza, altri prodotti hanno invece freni che spesso rompono il cavo. Lo uso da due settimane e x ora perfetto.

I love my chooks but on a cold wet February morning I have to search deep in my soul to find it…but thanks to this fantastic gadget it’s a 24/7 lovefest down at the coop! My laydeez and their noisy geezer can get on down (the ramp) and do their thang while I snooze beneath the duvet. In the evening there’s no more panic about getting home in time to shut them in; the sensor adjusts with the seasons. It’s really liberating. Wish I had bought it earlier!
En primer lugar las instrucciones. Me llama la atencin que no vengan traducidas al espaol. Es un producto caro, no creo que les suponga mucho el traducir los dos folios para que podamos entenderlo en nuestro idioma, ya que nos lo venden. Bsicamente es bastante intuitivo y fcil de manejar. Luego tiene algunos detalles, que si no eres buen conocedor del idioma cuesta mucho descubrir, como por ejemplo, la graduacin de la sensibilidad de la clula fotoelctrica, el funcionamiento conjunto de sensor de luz y programador…
Segundo; Yo inicialmente prefira utilizar el cierre por programador, es decir, fijar yo la hora. Con el cambio de los das, hay que ajustarlo para que se cierre mas tarde, ya que los das son mas largos. Para cambiar la hora de cierre hay que pasar por todos los ajustes y hacerlos de nuevo, incluido el calibrado de la apertura de la puerta, lo que no deja de ser un …rollo. Quizs esto sea producto de no poder comprender al 100% las instrucciones?.
En tercer lugar, llama la atencin que presumen en la publicidad de su construccin en Gran Bretaa y, nada mas abrirlo, ves que, al menos los dos componentes que se ven, motor y portapilas, son “Made in Taiwan”. No se si sern mejores o peores, pero no presumas de ello, compaero!!
Por ultimo lugar, las pilas. recomiendan “encarecidamente” pilas Energizer Plus. Pues bien, las que envian ( gracias por ello) no son de esa marca.
Es posible que su punto dbil sea el consumo de pilas. Esto no lo he podido comprobar por el poco tiempo que le tengo. El indicador de bateria baja solo funciona con la puerta cerrada. Si se trata de evitar el tener que ir a cerrar a las gallinas por la noche y tienes que ir a comprobar el estado de las baterias, estamos en las mismas. Lo lgico sera que el indicador fuera permanente o al menos con la puerta abierta, que se supone que es de da y vas ms al gallinero que de noche,.
Insistir que , a pesar de estas criticas, parece un buen producto y desde que lo tengo estoy mucho mas tranquilo respecto a mis gallinas.
Ich bin sehr zufrieden! Geht zuverlssig auf und zu. Ich benutze allerdings auch nur die Timer Funktion. Wrde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.
We’ve had multiple (14 + nights) of -5 to – 15 degree F and colder here and other than the display acting a little sluggish (expected in temps this cold) the door opener has operated flawlessly.
Yes, it is ridiculously expensive for what it does, but it is simple to use, easy to install, and built like a tank. I planned on building my own out of an arduino and some other supplies (probably $30 – 40 in materials), but it would have taken me a day+ to put it all together and test it. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I have more money than time at the moment so buying was the way to go.
Very happy with the purchase.
I love my chicken guard. I don’t have to rush home when it gets dark to close the door anymore. And on the weekends I can sleep in and the chickens can still get out. I haven’t had any problems with it and it’s really easy to work and set up. The company has contacted me several times to make sure that I like their product and to let them know if there are any problems with it. I would highly recommend this to anyone with chickens.
I bought this unit on August 9, 2016. The unit works very well until last week (9/2017). The problem is the open/close do not function properly in auto mode. The manual mode works fine. I emailed Parkhill Enterprises and they responded within few hours. Ben from Parkhill Enterprises and TJ from Chicken Guardian are very professional and very helpful. After we discussed about the problem, TJ from Chicken Guardian has offered to send me a replacement right away. They kindly ask me to return the old unit for them to investigate/test why it does not function properly. I am very impressed with how they handle it.
We all know that nothing is perfect! It could be a very simple problem to fix.
For peace of mind, I would buy it again from Chicken Guardian.

The warranty is fantastic and the motor inside the unit is available online at many electronics websites, should you want to keep a back-up motor, replace or upgrade it.
Not having to open at 6am and close at 10pm, I feel like I’m on vacation : )
Love this. Had a little trouble getting it programmed but found help and visuals/videos online that were better than the written instructions that came with it. Once operational it works great and I no longer have to get up, get dressed and go out to let my chickens out by 7:00am. I went away for a weekend shortly after installing and wasn’t sure what I would find when I returned. Everything went fine and all my chickens were all safe. A little pricey but it was worth it!
So how much is it worth to not have to worry if you closed your coop or if you remembered to open it? Apparently it’s over $200 but I believe this product is worth the price. I installed this at the end of 2016. The battery endured 10-30 degree temps and is still working as of 4/19/17. It is a quality made product and I’m very pleased with how it works. At first I was worried if it closed at night but there is a bright red LED that flashes every 30 seconds. I no longer need to worry about the coop door.
Still working since I purchased about 5 months ago. Build is good. Light sensor seems to have drifted. Had to keep adjusting sensor as winter started settling in. Adjusted senor down to 160 during August & now have adjusted it up to 200. Of course I have the plus+ setting activated. At first didn’t think the sensor was working since the door went down at time & now it goes down early using sensor mode.
Excellent. It’s been working very well so far. A little pricey, but if the reliability is good it’s worth it.
We used a cookie sheet for the door, placing a hole and ring at the top to pull up, or close, works great. This model can lift up to 8 lbs. for a door, but I find the cookie sheet is light, strong, and better than wood, as it will not swell in rain, nor can any animal chew through it. Chicken Guard runs on 4 AA batteries, which lasts for a very long time. There is a red light that comes on if running low. The nice thing with the batteries, is that you never have to worry if your power goes off, especially while gone, they are still protected.
Easy to mount, setup, and use. i can’t recommend this product enough!!.
