Pagato poco pi di 30 e verificato con mazzetta Pantone: 9 volte su 10 restituisce il codice preciso, quell’unica volta che sbaglia, ci va comunque molto vicino. Veramente un oggetto utilissimo.

Great for color matching
This is intended for matching paint colors, but I also use it with textiles. Set up is easy and the color results can be sorted against various manufacturer’s paint chips. I tested it on a wall I was painting against a previously painted wall in the same color – the color result did not match exactly, but did come up in related colors – maybe one shade off. If you’re a perfectionist, that’s not going to be acceptable.
I like to use this with textiles where I’m trying to match colors, or come up with ideas for a palette. The eye on the camera is not large, so even a small section of a print can be scanned. This is small and light enough to carry in a shopping bag, so it’s easy to bring along on a scouting expedition. Fun tool, and I recommend it to other sewers.

I was skeptical. I used the product to color match and touch up paint around the house.
I was shocked how well it worked. The paint store guys were surprised as well. You saved me from a lot of stress and waisted money on wrong paint colors.

I wanted to record the RGB values from a wide range of acrylic paint colors I was mixing for recreational painting projects. I would paint test colors on canvas and paper swatches. I wanted to be able to create new colors with this database. I purchased a set of calibrated paint swatches (RAL color set) and the device and software correctly identified these calibration colors. It is easy to use and I measured several hundred colors.
Super easy to set up and use. If the surface has a variegated texture, different positions give different readings. At least I can get little pints for 2 or 3 of the readings and try them out before buying the full quantity of paint.

As a photographer I use this to match backgrounds and lighting to match the subject. Very handy and easy to use.
It's definitely better than trying to eyeball the color. We bought a house that had custom painting in every room, and we've struggled to figure out what color the main foyer paint color is. There's an area where the paint cracked from the cold temperatures we get each winter and we needed to touch it up. This tool has helped us narrow down what paints might match.

I really like having this as a Realtor so that I can offer that extra level of service to my clients when they're asking about touch up paint or repainting rooms. I am a little nervous that the color isn't perfect but it's certainly been VERY close!

I really like being able to see exactly what alphanumeric value is attached to the color I am interested in and being able to find out it’s complement, etc. Good product so far. I’m happy. I do wish it were a little bit sturdier though.

To properly review Datacolor ColorReader EZ, I walked around my home with the reader and smartphone and compared the read colors to the colors on the walls.
To make sure I’m getting consistent readings, I took multiple samples on the wall’s different areas.
ColorReader EZ read the paints’ colors very close to the original, but never exact.
My husband runs a renovation business.
He has more than a decade of experience using different brands of paints.
He says that even the color readers that are used in specialized paint stores are not accurate.

I bought this for my husband because he’s graphic designer and he has a clothing line and he’s very precise when it comes to the colors so this has helped him a lot. He loves it and is constantly using it. It worked well with various paint jobs around our house and with my businesses. All in all this handy little device is amazing and has made our lives easier.

I just received this 30min ago and I was immediately blown away. Setup was super easy (iOS): Installed the App, Connect, Scan. The device doesn’t look like much: It reminds me of an advertising flashlight LED key chain.
As soon as it was ready I turned to the first pained surface nearby. I happen to have painted my kitchen walls about one year ago so I tested this on 2 walls. The result came
up with the name and also the brand. I knew the brand was right but I wasn’t sure about the color names… so I went down to the garage to find the leftover cans and they were both correct!
I was expecting the color match but i didn’t expected it to get the brand too. After this I am very confident I’ll be able to match the paint in another room. I’ll update this once I find out.
Update : Used this device to match a yellowish brown paint for touch-up over patched dents. My first attempt at “manually” matching using the palette samples was way off: Too dark. Second attempt using this device was mostly a success: The scanned color was called “green xxx” and I frankly would have never guessed it was a green. I came back with the paint in much doubt it was a match. I applied the new pain over the patches and waited for it to dry and was pretty good. Is it perfect? No. The new paint is noticeably darker than the old paint. But I think it’s my fault: I used this device to scan the old paint in multiple places in the room to get an “average”. But instead of following up on a good idea, ended up picking one of the darkest samples for the new paint. In retrospect, I should have made an extra trip to the paint store to pick the palette samples for each of the scans and select the best match before actually buying the paint on a “hunch” that the correct sample was the darkest one. But it’s really close enough not to be worth redoing it. So overall, I’m quite satisfied.

Nice To Have, Fairly Accurate, Works Better On Smooth Surfaces, Use As A Guide
This color matcher is really cool! It’s easy to use and setup. The app it comes with is nicely designed and provides a lot of information. Once setup, it’s as easy and uncovering the bottom sensor, placing it on the surface you wish to match, and pressing the button. At that point, the app give you different colors that it could be along with the brands and models that have that color.
In terms of accuracy, I would say it’s pretty close. It’s not perfect and in my opinion, I would only use this as a guide or a way to at least get you started. I found that it works better on smooth surfaces than it does with any type of textured surfaces. From the other tests I’ve done, I would say this does work, it’s just not perfect all the time. Don’t get me wrong, it did match certain colors pretty well, but sometimes, it wasn’t even close (that was mostly on textured surfaces).
All in all, I would use something like this as a guide only. Don’t get me wrong, it does work and for the price, it’s not bad to have around the house!

Appareil ingénieux
Gros casse tte que tout le monde a dj connu , retrouver une peinture sans savoir la teinte , c’est quasi mission impossible part si l’on a loeil d’un carrossier expriment.
C’est la que ce super appareil entre en scne.
En premier lieu , il faut appairer l’appareil au tlphone en bluetooth.
Ensuite ,il faut telecharger l’application car l’appareil envoie la couleur scanne vers le tlphone via l’appli.
Il ne reste plus qu’ scanner la couleur souhaite.
L’application est vraiment bien faite , elle donne des infos sur la teinte mesure mais d’avoir galement les rfrences dans des catalogues connus.
Seul point ngatif , parfois les mesures des couleurs ne sont pas trs fiables , on reste dans le thme mais le scanner renvoie des couleurs fausses.
Le concept de cet appareil est vraiment super ingnieux , je ne savais pas que ce genre d’appareil existait , c’est donc une belle dcouverte.

Previous owners had selected the colours in our home and I really liked them but had no idea what they were called or consisted of. This was a perfect tool to repaint in the same colour.
Also, was so helpful in determining a complimentary colour for other rooms that opened into our kitchen.

This device works better than I expected, to be honest. It's very easy to use and works really fast. The color match on my phone is very close and the difference is probably due to the phone screen vs a painted wall. The whole system is pretty cool.

Tolles Gerät mit umfangreicher, sehr spezieller App
Vom Prinzip ist der Farberkenner eine gute Sache. Ich htte nur nicht gedacht, dass die App so viel bietet.
Das Gert funktioniert toll. Man muss es vorher nur einmal kalibrieren. Dazu klappt man die Messplatte vor den Sensor und startet die Kalibrierung. Nach wenigen Sekunden ist der Farberkenner betriebsbereit.
Danach kann man ihn an beliebige Flchen halten. Sei es Wand, Tisch, Fuboden, Flaschenetikett etc.
Das Ergebnis wird ausgegeben und man bekommt sogar Farbnummer und Anbieter angezeigt. Super ist natrlich, gerade ich mit meiner Farbsehschwche, dass ich mir keine Gedanken mehr machen muss, welche Farben gut zueinander passen, bzw. harmonieren. Da macht mir die App entsprechende Vorschlge. Gerade wer sich mit Design und Innenarchitektur beschftigt, ob privat oder professionell, wird Gefallen daran finden. Darber hinaus bietet die App aber noch andere Einstellungen, welche fr mich als Privatanwender einfach zu umfangreich sind.
Nichts desto trotz erfllt das Gert genau das, was es soll:
Es hilft mir den richtigen Farbton meiner Wand zu finden, damit ich bei Ausbesserungen nicht die gesamte Flche streichen muss. Ganz wird man den Farbton wahrscheinlich nie treffen knnen, aber es bietet mir ein genaueres Ma, als mein Auge.
Des Weiteren hilft es mir bei der Farbauswahl, wenn ich passend zur Wandfarbe, Bettbezug oder sogar Mbelfarbe auswhlen mchte.

In test on surfaces we recently painted all were either the correct colour or just 1 shade off from the right colour with a fairly reliable estimate overall.
