Fantastic toaster!
This is a fantastic toaster. My last toaster was soo slow! This usually gets my bread made into toast in 2 minutes or less. For a toaster it is a bit on the expensive side, but it is of good quality. Very happy with my purchase.

Had this for a week now and it’s a beast of a toaster. Gets very hot, very quickly, and gives fairly even toast which is nice and soft inside.
Timer is a bit trial and error at first but I love the pop up lever to have a little look to see if your toast is done. Doesn’t auto pop up like most which I was a little worried about, but having gotten used it, it’s much better.
Looks great and I get the impression it’ll last a very long time as it’s built very well.
Grea
Great, time will tell on the durability and value for money.
Happy so far.
Worlds best toaster?
I
Makes great toast but the timer control is a little hard to get used to
Makes toas
Awesome toaster quick, I bought it so parts can be replaced in time when required.
This is a first class Toaste
Our previous Dualit toaster finally gave up the ghost after 16+ years of daily breakfast use. That was the second Dualit toaster we have had. With such quality why should we look elsewhere?
So we don’t.
You won’t regret the purchase.
My new toaste
I like everything about this toaster, I’ve had one before. It lasted a good number of years too. In between I bought a cheap make and it doesn’t pay to do that, Hence I’ve gone back to Dualit. Highly recommended
This toaster works
Great toaster – worth spending the extra money on. The toast is even and inviting – I’ve started to look forward to toast again! Also, the build of this machine is reassuring, solid.
Excelle
Expensive, naturally, but looks classic and magnificent, a treat for my refurbished kitchen. Functionally it produces ace toast. The manual lever allow you to check so that you get toast to perfection.

Used daily for 11 years and only just discovered this is a bun toaster which explains why toast is uneven. This model toasts one side and warms the other. Ideal for buns, panini and bagels but not your regular sliced loaf. Main criticism in the 1 star reviews is this unevenness but actually, like me, you bought the wrong toaster. The model you wanted is the Heritage which features the browning dial in place of the 4 slice selector. Unfortunately, this still isn’t clear on the Amazon listing. I’m used to turning the toast around half way so won’t be buying the other until this goes kaput. Only criticism is the amount of timers I’ve gone through. Easily replaced though. Buy a generic and reuse the old control knob.
I love this toaste
I love this toaster. And, the toast is better than a cheapo toaster. You have get used to the Dualit way of doing things but it’s well worth it. Crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle. Perfect. Warby’s is ok in it, about 95% to the top, I have it and it’s good !! Also, a good looking thing IMO

First class toaster, recommend it to anyone.
1 Toasts evenly (most important to me).
2 Toasts in half the time it took my old toaster.
3 Toast is crisp on the outside and soft inside.
Brilliant machine.
Best toast I have had since my last stay in a hotel where they had a Dualit toaster. Far superior to the made in china toasters that are branded with UK names. And all the parts are replaceable and are readily available to buy.
Four Stars
Good toast crisp in the outside bread still soft in the middle excellent toas
Love it love it love i
Love it love it love it! Yes its a toaster. Only thing is I don’t like forcing the timer back to position if toast is taken out, as per manufacturers recommendation.

My daughter has been singing the praises of her Dualit Toaster for many years. I wish I had listened to her earlier. This is a real gem! The variable controls let me have my toast exactly as I like it. Other electric toasters have a tendency to dry the bread but the Dualit does not. This is the best thing since toasting in front of an open coal fire.
Happy toaste
I had a 4 slot Dualit toaster which I bought 20 years ago , this one seems equally as good .
Love my toaster.! Looks good, makes good toast, easy to use and easy to clean. I bought it in part becaus of the promise of easy to replace parts in case of problems, but so far so good. It is pricey but at least you know you have got a good machine for your money which doesn’t have the flimsy, plasticky feel of most toasters these days. So treat yourself!
Wonderful Superb great machine
Definitely the best toaster I have ever owned we are all toastaholcs in this house hope it stands up to all the punishment it is getting seems to work very well
British design classic.
A good piece of industrial design that works efficiently. I remain to be convinced why they cost so much. Hopefully, time will tell!
Cool and clean looking
Very nice toaster, no pop up but you get used to it, the little black knob is the lifter upper thing. It’s not a heavy piece but looks great. I also bought the sandwich cage, you only get one in a box but that’s all you need.
Love it.
Had the four slot at my parent’s house that has lasted forever so bought the two slot for my own flat. I hate the spring on regular toasters so I love that this one doesn’t pop up and surprise me before I’ve had my coffee. Consistent toasting and it looks great.

Great build, reliable and adjustable
Wish I’d bought one of these years ago, instead of getting a 30 or 40 quid toaster every year or so. Great build, reliable and adjustable.
Amazing Toaster.
An amazing toaster. Toast is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside.
Perfect toast!!!
Great toaster!
Going to buy one for my son who was home for a holiday. He thought the toast was amazing.
The perfect companion to our Dualit Classic Kettle despite there being more of the copper element, which is a darker colour, on the Toaster. Robustly made, small footprint and generous double slot for all sizes of bread and fillings. Looks good, toasts good. What’s not to like? Five stars from me.
Excellent toaster, easily the best i've used or had
Easily the best toaster i’ve ever had. Consistent toasting on both sides, without fail, very sturdy and excellent build quality, plus it looks fantastic!
Proper finger print magnet though, so invest in a can of stainless steel polish
No regrets
Brilliant – had this for 9 months now. Looks set to see us out. Colour looks nice, had planned to get the bagel model, but don’t miss it.

Really lovely and well made toaster, but the slots are far too small for our needs (so had to be returned). Too bad they don’t make this exact same one with larger slots (especially given that so many types of breads nowadays are larger than the old fashioned standard loaf size).
Perfect toast make
What’s not to love. We had a 2-slot Dualit toaster that lasted for ages before breaking and blowing the fuses in the house, so we plumped for this one and cannot fault it. It makes perfect toast.
Excellent value, Amazon Warehouse deal
Excellent value, Amazon Warehouse deal. The toaster is lovely looking in my kitchen. The variable timer knob allows me to toast bread to my liking, and the lever allows me to periodically check it if required.
Perfect toaste
I adore this toaster – well worth paying the extra for. It is very sturdy, easily controllable and repairable should an element break. It toasts beautifully and looks terrific – a touch of the Steam-Punk :). Perfect.
Smart toaster, unusual colour and classy
Classy co-ordinating toaster for my kitchen and kettle.
Pleased with overall style and size of toaster – you always pay that bit extra for quality.
Dualit Toaster, may be not the prettiest toaster, BUT it certainly makes the best toast I have made for many years with other makes, and looks great besides my matching kettle.
A beautiful toaster, which in contrast to the matching kettle (which also looks beautiful but performs entirely normally) – really does seem to toast better than I’m used to !
Bread is evenly toaster and stays in the slot keeping warm when finished toasting (as opposed to immediately popping up and getting cold).
I really do love this toaster. Of course it’s ridiculously expensive but I expect it to last !

I have wanted one of theses for years. Only issue is that it does not automatically flip up the toast you have to careful not to burn the toast. Will take some getting used to.

Four Stars
Great Toaster, but i didn’t receive the illustrated toaster. Four stars because it don’t have bagel function.
I love this toaster so much. You can set it to toast at one slot, two slots or all four slots. The only down side is, when you want three pieces of toast, one will be double cooked on one side. Still five stars though.

Dualit 4 slot toaster-don't buy anything else but this!!! Fantastic sturdy quality product!
Fantastic solid and sturdy Dualit toaster. Second one I have bought, stupidly I changed my toaster to match other accessories and they aren’t built like Dualit products hence the reason I’ve bought another! Expensive initially but so very worth the extra cost. Looks good in chrome too.
Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside
It’s a toaster but looks awesome, extremely well built, produces beautiful crispy even toast toast with a moist fluffy inside. Hand assembled and built in the UK, supporting our country. Expensive but will worth the money.
Thanks Barry for building our toaster!

A beautiful toaster! Having had an Aga to make toast on for the last 21 years, I was not happy at the thought of a toaster, but when I saw the Dualit with the copper I thought it would be compensation to have this pretty version.
Have not been disappointed by it’s looks, quality or performance.

Very happy with our basic model.
It’s looking very sharp in the kitchen and working very well.
Not all the bells and whistles of the latest model – but toasts bread just as good!

A tried, tested and trusted piece of kit for the kitchen! Ultra reliable – my family has used this model for over twentyfive years without any trouble whatsoever and is easy very to use. This item arrived very quickly after order placement – Very pleased altogether!

Excellent! Follow the instructions and safety advice (Switch off at wall when not in use) and everything is fine. Yes it takes home made bread, as long as you don’t cut your slices like paving slabs. (There IS an art to cutting fresh bread – use a sharp knife and cut backward toward yourself slowly using a little pressure – do not cut in forward thrusts). We have a Panasonic bread machine and it takes average sized machine made bread. Best not to use freshly made bread in a toaster – 24 hours old is better. The machine is very well made and easy to use. Average setting on times is about 2 – 2.5. If you over do it, and toast is burning, just switch power of at the wall (Note: the timer will continue – it is mechanical but power will be off) and lift the leaver to remove toast. 🙂
Long lasting and does the job!
some people don’t like the dualit but I think this is a pretty damn good toaster and we have had it for quite a while.
I absolutely love this. It looks good and works well. You can choose one or two slices thereby saving electricity if you’re only doing one. The dial works like a timer to toast for longer or shorter times to get the toast browner or paler. The lift up lever allows you to lift up and put down the bread. It has a crumb tray which pulls out. I’m hoping it will last for ages on account of the price.
FAB
This was a replacement for a Dulit toaster I had for over 20 years , the difference if any is the wider slots for thicker bread, a newer shinny machine.
The Rolls Royce of toasters
Absolutely love this toaster. No automatic pop up which means the toast stays warm for longer. Can be set to cook 2 or 4 slices. Looks really good out on the worktop too.
I bought this because of the colour matching the kitchen, replacing an existing older duality toaster. It doesn’t quite fit the larger sliced breads (warburtons) which is a pain and the dial isn;t as well made as the old one. It takes longer to do the toast and it’s difficult to judge where to set the dial to get the perfect toast (easier with the old one).
Non bette
it was not for me. it was a gift for a friend. BUT my Duallit toaster is to my knowledge 30 years old; I inherited it when we took over a country pub. It’s now in my home and I’ve had new elements and a new switch (parts always available) and it’s perfect. My friend loves hers too.
Expensive but worth every penny.
I purchased this toaster for my Daughter as a Christmas present as I have had one for the last 6 years and no other toaster compares.I would never consider buying any other make.
Build quality is great. Toasts very evenly. Good to be able to select the number of slices required. Being able to check the toast without turning it off is good. Timer is a little noisy, but overall very good
Brilliant toaste
I have always wanted a Dualit toaster and am Very pleased with it. No problems with bread slice sizes and find it really efficient. I have had numerous toasters over the years and generally have given them away to family and friends because they have been disappointing. This one is definitely here to stay!
Brilliant! but not cheap… If you want toast done perfectly in an appliance that looks the business.. then this is for you. It toast up to 4 slices and even toasts one side of bread only!

Superb and evenly crispy toast.
The usual excellent build quality to update my 2 slice toaster that is now about 15 years old and still going strong. Don’t bother with any other make get one of these. Flip the toast up and turn it without having to let the elements cool down. Seminal…..!!!!
A toaster for life. Still hand made in England. I decided to go for the polished stainless steel option and it’s a real statement. These classic Dualits aren’t pop-up toasters, they use a timer and have a manual lever to raise the toast – very simple to use. Wide slots can accommodate a hand-cut bread. The Vario model has a two/four slot switch. This toaster gives great results as you’d expect at this price. If you’re in the market for an expensive toaster then this is really the one to have. All parts are easily replaced and readily available – Dualit also to a repair service for UK customers.
Great to look a
I love the Dualit toasters. This one looks great. It does take longer to toast the bread than my previous Dualit, which was exactly the same design.
I had my previous one for about ten years, though it only gets used at the week-end. The switch for two or four slices is a great idea. It is easy to clean, as the tray with crumbs is easily removed.
Stylish and toast well.
I thought these toasters might be over rated but they not only looks cool they perform really well. The trick when toasting two rounds is to reduced the second round by one power setting as the toaster is already warmed up.
HoT StUfF!
I love it!!!!! Am so pleased with it, it was on my wish list for over a year and it toasts just how I like my toast. I bought the sandwich toaster that slides into the slot at the same time and have had no problems with width of sandwich being toasted (unlike other reviewers). It looks smart on the work surface and I put up with its large size in my tiny kitchen as its beauty is greater than the recognition of its size!

Will be put to good use when my son next stays the nigh
Haven’t used my toaster very much. Will be put to good use when my son next stays the night, as we always have toast & marmalade for breakfast. Although this toaster is very expensive & basic, I love its looks and so far am satisfied with what toast it has produced. After reading through the different reviews both good & bad before buying, my Cream Dualit 2 slice toaster is exactly what I was expecting!
Hopefully it will last me longer than the 5 years my previous toaster lasted.
What’s so good about this toaster is that it has basic functions that anyone can understand – and, thus, are far less likely to go wrong or break. Especially important is the bread riser, which is hand-operated and which is not a thin metal bar that comes up (which after a while warps and traps your toast), but a thick metal base that the slice of bread sits on all the time – down, and up, with no bother and nothing trapped. Excellent.
Grea
I like this! It’s easy to use and I’m happy for my primary aged children to use it, the leaver makes it easy for them to get their toast out and to check the progress, good for a 7 and 9 year old to use
You can buy toasters that do everything for you or you can buy a Dualit, it’s back to the old days. Don’t get me wrong, this is a fantastic toaster. A lever to pop your toast up or down, a switch for 2 slices or 4 slices and a clockwork timer for 3 minutes or less of toast cooking, what else do you need, apart from startling good looks.
The timer thingy gets a bit of getting used to, to find your correct level of toastiness for your toast, I reckon about 2.5 mins, which is just dark enough for me.
I also like the pull out tray for the crumbs, very easy to clean. Also, there aren’t many toasters where you can buy spare parts for, most are throw away. I don’t think I’ll need a different toaster ever.
I also bought the sandwich cage which means I can do cheese toasties in it too, and the cheese doesn’t fall out all over the inside of the toaster, simplisity at its best. (British engineering done well)
And I noticed in our local Waitrose cafe, they’ve got one as well…. and they do a lot of toast.
Bright red Dualit 4 slice toaster!!
My husband has always wanted a Dualit 4 slice toaster so I bought him one for his birthday and definitely ‘best’ present he has ever received. We both love it and the defrost is great especially as we normally keep bread in the freezer, and then straight onto the toasting bit and perfect toast every time.
This is a proper toaste
For many years I had a four slice Dualit toaster but like all things it eventually wore out. Not wanting to spend too much money on a replacement I purchased a cheaper make Needless to say the cheaper make was not a patch on the Dualit and went the way of all things. Having been taught a lesson I have now bought another Dualit. It is extremely well made and it has very reliable elements and is so easy to use.I will never buy another make
I bought this toaster over 10 years ago. Ever since my wife has been telling me that it’s rubbish and doesn’t toast evenly. The timer packed up recently (not too bad after so long) and I went online to find a replacement. It was only then that I discovered that I’d bought a BUN toaster and not a bread toaster. Yes, there is a difference. According the Dualit’s website: “Dualit’s commercial bun toasters are specifically designed to toast one side of the bun whilst warming the other, by heating the elements on each side of the slot to different temperatures.”
I guess I should have listened to my wife. The frustrating thing is that Amazon don’t mention anywhere that this isn’t for toasting bread. If you look at the reviews so many people are disappointed because it toasts unevenly. You need to buy the Dualit 47180 4 Slice NewGen Toaster – this one’s designed for the job you have in mind.
fast toast in a flash
Perfect toast in a flash! What more can I say except the Dualit toaster with the covered elements is fabulous, stylish, the handle pops the toast up and down manually and it’s easy to clean! I bought the toaster in lime green which is pretty but very bright- not like the soft green as advertised. It actually stayed in the box for several days until my daughter came and said she loved it. Very pleased and recommend.
Excellent.
This is the third Dualit toaster I have bought (for a holiday house) and like the others it makes excellent toast, is well made and importantly can be mended with spare parts easily available from Dualit or their agents. I love the design AND it is made in the UK NOT China.
Exelle
Having owned several toasters through out the years nothing has ever compared to this Dualit 4 slice toaster . It is an excellent product i will never use any other brand . Toast does perfect every time and it doesn’t dry the bread out .
At last!! Toast we can enjoy!!
Okay…it’s alot of money to spend on a toaster but you really won’t regret it! Our last toaster took about 10 years to mildly brown a slice of bread but this baby takes 2-3 very quick minutes and produces wonderful toast which is pleasantly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, unlike the Melba-style toast we got from our old toaster which shattered into a million pieces when you put your marg on!!!!! It also looks cool in our newly decorated kitchen. Very satisfied toast addict!!

An excellent toaste
I was looking for a good reliable toaster and chose the Dualit. Not the cheapest on the market but probably the best. It produces very good toast with the ability to vary the “brown-ness” of the toast. Once the timer has been mastered the kind of toast preferred can easily be repeated.
The best toaster eve
For the first time a toaster that really delivers great toast! It may be expensive but you have to think about how many other toasters you have bought that have not lived up to this!
I bought this as a housewarming/Christmas present for my niece and nephew. I’ve had one for years now and it just keeps cooking perfect toast. Yes its expensive but our other toasters have only ever lasted a year or so at most – this one has just kept going. Its made in Britain and they produce spares!
This is a really very good toaster.
If you feel the material and experience the most practical use, you know this is a top quality product that will bring you years, if not decennia of good and pleasant use. And above that…the design is just wonderfull.
I purchased this to replace a Kenwood toaster which had lasted 10 years based on reviews I’d seen. I was not disappointed. It looks very smart sitting on my worktop and makes lovely toast. The switch for one slot toasting is handy. Only downside to this is that if you put a waffle in to toast, because the holder is on an angle to raise and lower the item it gets stuck and you have to fish it out. But we have learnt from that episode. I have had this several months now and would definitely recommend i
Beautiful
Love this toaster. It is beautiful to look at and I like the fact that we can replace parts as they wear out, rather than keep having to buy new toasters. Ours has a selector for 2 or 4 slices which is useful, as we don’t always use the 4. Would have given 5* but slightly uneven toasting on one slot. Recommended.
great toas
After years of cheap toasters that end up burning one side and leaving the other white I decided to invest in a Dualit, why didnt I do it years ago I love it and I will never have to buy another toaster as all the parts are replaceable.
Lots has been written about this toaster, but I think that the main points are:
– Looks well-built, like the mechanical controls and the ability to replace parts
– Seems to toast evenly
– Shame that it won’t take slices from larger loaves, you need to turn tall slices upside down.
Quality produc
Having bought two cheaper toasters, both of which had problems & were returned faulty I decided to go for the “Rolls Royce” of toasters.
It does all it says it should, easy to use & great with the sandwich clamps. All round an excellent product but very expencive for a toaster.
After all, you are only toasting a few slices of bread. Oh for the days of open fires!!!!

Bought this as a present for our son, but, as we had no time to go to high street to look for it,we bought on line and were delighted it came very soon after order placed. Thank you Pauline & David
I previously had a stainless steel Dualit and loved it, sadly it died on me and I decided that I would purchase a new one, however, liked the cream coloured one so much decided to have that one, and I love it. Not only does it look stylish and match my kitchen, but the toast is wonderful too!!
