Love this toaster.
I bought this toaster as we had used one in a holiday cottage a few years ago. I have had several toasters which didn’t t last very long.So I took the plunge to buy the dualit hoping it will last a long time ,up to now I love it easy to clean and use.It is expensive however I am expecting it to last a while.

Absolute rubbish
From the beginning the end slots of my 4 slot unit only toasted one side of the bread. Two years in and the toaster no longer works. The timer has stuck, the unit didn’t switch off, and I assume overloaded the elements. It is repairable for a reason. It will need repair. Avoid this product.
Bought this to last a lifetime
I bought this because the Dualit architect toaster I bought five years ago no longer works and I was really surprised to find that you cannot replace the element on those toasters . So I’ve bought the old fashioned, classic Dualit so that it can be fixed if an element goes. I’m hoping I never have to buy another toaster as I don’t want to send any more to the tip ! The Dualit classic is v simple , v easy to use , looks cool in a retro way and is hopefully going to be in my kitchen for many years to come . Wish I’d bought this one rather than the architect toaster five years’ ago

Love the shadow and design of this classic little toaster but find the only drawback is that the outer casing becomes very hot when toasting.

perfect toast every time and replaceable elements
I love this toaster. It looks great and as the parts can be replaced it is good for the planet too. Solid basic construction, no unnecessary knobs or dials and just one crumb tray which is easy to clean and remove. Great evenly browned toast. Love the fact you can raise toast to see if its done yet. Would highly recommend.
Worlds best toaste
After years of buying ‘cheap’ toasters which either didn’t last long or made brittle toast decided to invest in this. Best decision- makes great toast and is simple to use. Only drawback is that some large sliced bread is too big but as I mainly buy small loaves I don’t see this as an issue. There is no automatic pop up facility when finished but I find this helps to keep the toast warm until I’m ready to use the manual pop up.

Where to start, this toaster is brilliant… Then again, it’s expensive. For the price you would hope it does a lot more than just toast things, but you’re out of luck, it is literally a toaster.
The toast that comes out of this is fantastic though and perfectly toasted. I would 100% buy this again, if you are looking for a premium toaster with replaceable parts, this is the best there is!

Love this simple, straight forward toaster. Attractive retro styling and really solidly built.
Enables high speed toasting. To me fancy gadgetry makes sense if it really improves performance.

This is my third toaster my first lasted 30 years my second was an upgrade from a 2 slice to a 4 and it’s still going strong. And this purchase was a gift to my son an his family and they are delighted. It’s just such a quality product.

I researched and waited to buy a dualit when my last toaster broke, I was a bit wary due to cost, but glad I bought it. It does feel you need a bit of time to get used to it. As it’s like going back in time with manual dials and the toast does not pop up when finished as stays down to keep warm. But the toast is brilliant and fits all the big sliced toasts too so there is no gap left and evenly toasts as required. With a 4 slice toaster you can either do 2 or 4 using a switch to alternate. Cleaning is easy with a removable tray. Matches my dualit kettle so was worth the wait.

What can I say? It’s Dualit…. replacing a very old, past mending similar model… it’s almost family- and visitor -proof and worth the money – the old one out-lived many, often replaced, toasters owned by other members of the family.
Elements last well, but when they do eventually wear out, unlike most toasters, they are easily replaced with available spare parts.
Doubt I will need to at my age, but I’d buy another if this one wears out.

2 slices or 4.....you decide
I used to have a 4 slice Dualit toaster which was very good but people kept putting in 2 slices while having it switched to heat 4 so I bought this 2 slicer which should work very well for my purposes.
Not really worth the money
Nice toaster and it cooks the toast ok, the tray underneath is very cheap looking. I bought the kettle so it all matched but wished I’d bought the SMEG one. It looks ok but not worth 200

I found it to be everything I wanted and needed from a toaster it took a few times to get use to it but once I’d got use to the settings for 2or4 slices and remembered to flick the switch over it was fine.

I bought this toaster from Amazon in July 2008 and I’ve just made some lovely toast using the same toaster almost 12 years later. Yes it’s a bit pricey, but it does a good job and it’s better than buying several cheaper toasts that just break after a few months.

In my opinion this is the Rolls Royce of Toasters. Well made and in England to.
I went for Amazon Warehouse Deals and got this item damaged. See pic, called Amazon Cust they were kind to give further discount so I got this for 78 essentially. So, it’s not too bad for the value due to the discount I received.
Coming to Dualit Toaster – I spent two months to get a good toaster. Unfortunately, didn’t like any other makes as they were too cluncky, harder to clean and unable to mend. This is a good toaster which has got British design, wide slots, easy to clean and all parts can be replaced.
There is a caveat though, the toaster is a professional toaster hence there is a supervision required all times to operate. You must turn off or unplug the toaster as these toasters have fault with the timer which can trigger them to autostart. Dualit accepts no responsibility if this causes a fire risk as they have covered themselves with a clause on their user manual and website. Ask Google
However, I couldn’t find anything close to this toaster. So, I have brought this toaster knowing the fault. In future perhaps with Gen 5 or Gen 6 Dualit can eliminate this issue.
Contrary to other people experiences, it is definitely a toaster for toast and not for buns. It toasts evenly both sides. If your one isn’t then please contact Dualit. It can only do 2 or 4 slot select unlike the current one NewGen 3 where you can individually select 1,2,3 or 4 slots.

Will last and give great toast unlike so many other toasters. Yes it costs more, but you will notice the difference. Even toasting. Make sure you preheat and follow the directions!
