What ever wood your cutting don’t rush cut nice and slow (job done)
Took me half an hour to assemble. love the way it foldaways flat against the wall. used it several times since i had to dismantle the blade had a slight wobble now perfect. A nice piece of kit brillia
Good once sharpened
They are machine ground so be prepared to put in a lot of work with the initial sharpen but once this is done, they keep an edge very well.
This saw suits me perfectly -a keen DIY-e
Wanted to buy locally in case of problems so went to S******x (& Amazon out of stock, anyway).
Needn’t have worried, no issues at all. Assembly was OK provided I read the instructions carefully & thought about it a bit. Once assembled I check the important bits out:
# Table is flat
# blade was correctly fitted but not at 90 degrees… loosening left hand hex nut on tilt mechanism allowed adjustment – only took a few minutes. – Then adjusted right hand hex nut to regain the 45 degree tilt setting too.
# mitre gauge works fine but scale is slightly out so check angle to saw blade for real accuracy
# sliding carriage is brilliant for cross cutting use
# love the solid feel of the rip fence; – easy to adjust & locks front & back tightly
# Dual read scale for showing distance of rip fence from blade was also well out – again slackening 2 bolts allowed easy correction.
I am extremely pleased with the quality of the cuts and at roughly half the price of the DeWalt it’s hard to beat given the DIY use I will put it to. (Plus the fact it folds down means it can be wheeled out of the way for storage)
No regrets at all over buying this. Evolution have obviously listened to the criticisms levelled at earlier versions and addressed them.

It has so many useful features. Not easy to put together but a quick video on YouTube and all sorted.
Poor instructions let it dow
Took nearly 2 hours to assemble firstly because I had some of the nuts missing, secondly the instructions are unclear I had to refer to the picture on the box, once assembled it is a large machine and surprisingly light and easy to move and fold up or down, I can’t wait to put it to good use

I checked the machine for bade angle, fence parallel to the blade and everything was perfect my only criticism is that the fence , although parallel, has a slight bend in the height along it’s length, ie place a square on the base and the only cotact with the fence is at the top of the square, this is for the entire length of the fence.

Excellent full length slider for cross cuts. Very good portability. A little tricky to assemble but not a problem since only needs to be done once!

Great table saw for the cost. Good solid fence. Table extensions are of good quality. East to set up and mobile. Also good torque on the blade. I don’t use a vacuum for the dust so it tends to clog up with sawdust.

Easy to set up, folds away to save space and a great addition to my workshop. Initially I have made wood items for the home , sawing large pieces of wood, with ease. Wished I had purchased sooner.

Didn’t like the instruction manual, the fence wasn’t at 90 degrees to the table and I needed to make a washer so that I could make a half and half joint jig. Fitting a new blade is a little difficult as there isn’t enough space for my fingers. As for the rest it was all set ready for use. The extending table is great and easy to use. The mitre guide when used in the table top slide is absolutely great, cuts very accurate mitres. Be aware that you should always check that the guide is at the correct angle using a separate gauge but that goes for every saw table mitre guide.
Over all very good value for the money would recommend to any DIY or even craftsman users.

That they are solving my problem
I was very happy with this saw realy good price compared with some other saw ,it was a shame that the switch went wrong and the would not send me a new one i could have replaced it, but i had to send it back and pay the post but Amazon are going to refund it. so al is well ,i must say that Amazon service has been great.

Great for small engineering jobs
This saw is ideal for people who know how to tweak it to get precision out of it.
The PRO’s
– It will cut through everything, steel, aluminium, plastics and wood.
– Has great mitre gauge with the clamp and sliding table
– Extendable sides, you can cut about 60cm from the rip fence to the blade
– Very smooth operation
– Good extraction system when connected to the shop vac
The Con’s
– Very fiddly table, plastic wheels. The whole saw slides away from you if you push anything bigger through. Best it’s to mount it on a solid table
– The table itself is very difficult to assemble, while I’m very skilled it took me about 3 hours with instruction manual and you tube videos. I have installed the legs wrong way, then I didn’t fold in the first part when installing the second part. Instruction say fold away but you should fold it in.
– Rip fence is about 20 mm out from bottom to the top of the table, you need to use tape measure each time to setup bottom then hold the bottom set up top hold it and close the clamp.
– The measure/ruler guide is completely useless.
Even though this saw is not perfect, I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone who needs to cut variety of materials. I plan to do few tweaks to it, mainly adjust/re-manufacture the rip fence by using the existing parts but make it square. I will build solid table for it and add digital readout.

Fantastic table saw for the average DIYe
Lots of research whilst helpful still does not answer “What do I really need?” All I can say is make a list of ‘must haves’, research products that have these, try and get some hands on experience (see the thing in the ‘flesh’). I concluded that the Evolution Rage-5 was the best on offer for the money & significantly cheaper than some more well known brands which, frankly, did not match the excellent value for a very similar spec. Only restriction is having to use Evolution discs, but for my intended use it was not a problem. Very pleased indeed.

Brilliant Saw, No Regrets
I spent ages researching table saws. This saw is excellent, very accurate cutting is possible because the fence is secured at both ends ( a common problem ). It stores easily and it’s easy to get out and start using. Very good value for money compared to other makes. Highly recommended.

This has earned its reputation as being the best table saw under 400. Solid fence with a wide ripping width. Folds down easily for storage and transport. Well worth paying a bit more than one of the entry-level table saws for this one.

Only fault I have found is there is no soft start, but have now got used to it.
I did have a slight problem putting saw together but watched U tube video which helped me.
I use this on all types of wood. I also recycle wood when making things and do not have to worry about any nails that may be left in the old wood. I can increase or decrease depth of cut, I can also cut differing angles.
It folds down for easy storage and transportation.

Only gripe is changing the blades with the provided spanners is a bit tricky. Just use a normal or longer spanner for leverage.

Ok but not brilliant. Blade not perpendicular when set to 0. Also, the knife not aligned. As others have mentioned, blade guard not great but if you put your piece underneath it before starting, will do the job. Assembly instructions could be better.

NEEDS BETTER ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Really good saw when finally assembled. Instructions not very clear. I am very pleased with the saw, only been cutting wood so far, and this was done with an evolution wood blade not the supplied multi use blade. It is heavy but moves easily once you have got it onto the wheels. when cutting you can level the legs using the supplied pads which is easy to do. Make sure that the guide is correctly inline wit the blade before you start cutting. I am happy to recommend this saw.
I watched all the You Tube videos, some of which proved very optimistic and I bought it. Assembly was much easier than predicted and it is VERY easy to move around. Excellent cutting capacity but ONLY reasonable dust collection. Really does cut Alloy and Mild Steel. Fence very good in use and, provided you’ve set up the blade and fence for parallel to the mitre slots, gives excellent, repeatable results. Blade angle won’t adjust to exactly 90 degrees but very, very close. Extending table (in both directions) VERY useful. I had to, (and you’ll have to) : 1) Adjust the Mitre Guide shoe to fit the Mitre slots. To do this, use a hammer and Square face punch to (very gently) spread the lower track following faces 2) Make a Zero Clearance Insert as the standard insert is laughably wide cut so everything falls into the blade cavity 3) Resin fill the Ego-tripping “Evolution” recess in the infeed side of the table as otherwise some timber pieces WILL catch in it. This is the silliest design note I’ve ever encountered and 4) Cut away the bottom fill in on the Riving Knife/Safety Guard Support to make it easier to remove/install. Also check that your box contains the smaller part of the Rip Fence, mine didn’t but I didn’t care as I would have binned it anyway. Lastly, blade supplied is very thin and wobble noticeably in use. All in all, not perfect but very good value for money, especially for anyone who, as I have, has a space problem. If you buy it you’ll enjoy it, just don’t expect absolute accuracy out of the box.

First the bad, on day due to be delivered I received notification that Driver had been unable to find address. (Not really believable) When box arrived the next day I wasn’t overly happy to see it had been both repackaged by Yodel and by DPD. Also the location of despatch turned out to be Amazon returns center, not really what I was expecting. Anyways I watched an online video for how to put together, got everything I needed ready and put it together with very little trouble. As others have said it would have been nicer if the wheels fit in such a way as to allow you to go through a standard doorway with it rather than having to pick it up or dragging it through. The other thing people have said about is the guard, I can confirm that it is bloody useless, If you wanted to cut 5 mm material you have to jack up the height of the blade to about 10mm because the guard does not lift easily without enough clearance. Also being completely black means you cant see through it, which means you can’t see when the wood is about to touch the blade so you have to trust entirely in the fence. It may be that I need to adjust the height of the splitter but I couldn’t see easy way of doing so. The last thing that is going to be an issue is that the plate around the blade is a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the machine, this means making sure that the blade is set to the exact angle you want is a lot more annoying then it should be, I am going to see if I can insert some rods or something underneath to stiffen this area up a bit.
Now for the good, This thing is a beast, with the arms extended fully and someone else to assist I was able to push through a 3/4 inch thick 8×4 sheet of Ply in about 1/4 of the time it would have taken me just to get my straight edge all sorted and clamped into place for a Circular saw cut. The fence and guide whilst being a little stiff to start seems to stay true to the blade, the protractor and slide rail work perfectly for smaller pieces that requireangled cuts. Once I finish building my shed I will be using this a lot more, after which I will come back and update this review a little, maybe even add some photos 🙂

Only critcism I could make is the black sawblade guard. Should be in clear plastic…. other than that this is an excellent piece of machinery and I highly recommend it with confidence.

I stand between two chairs, this table saw or better the Bosch PTS10. I have look many onlinetests and films by youtube and then I have think, for this price I don’t can make a mistake. And I love the saw. Yes, you must put any fine tuning for the angles, the sliding minter fence, but this was go in one hour and then the saw goes fine. I stand between two chairs, this table saw or better the Bosch PTS10. I have look many onlinetests and films by youtube and then I have think, for this price I don’t can make a mistake. And I love the saw. Yes, you must put any fine tuning for the angles, the sliding minter fence, but this was go in one hour and then the saw goes fine. I only saw wood with the saw im my workroom, for funiture.

after a battle with DPD I collected it from their dept in Dagenham it had not beened delivered and the driver had signed my name as it had . the box was broken and damaged but managed to fit it up and works well

his is not the cheapest table saw but you get a lot for your mony as well as it being capable to fold down for storage it is sturdy well designed and with expanding sides give a large surface area for putting large sheets on as with the other Evolution saws the blade cuts metal wood plastic.
putting it together the best advice is go on youtube and watch it being assembled far easier than reading the instructions
I assembled the machine without much difficulty by following the manual and watching a you tube video, although I had to substitute some 8mm washers for a missing spacer.
I tested by trimming an old section of door frame timber that had a few nails in it which it not only cut without any problem but also enabled me to make all four sides perfectly square. That’s a degree of accuracy I did not expect. It can be set to trim wafer thin cuts of wood. The dust extraction facility is excellent when used with my vac. It’s easy to fold away for storage and quite manoeuvrable which was an important consideration for me as my work space is limited.
All in all I am very well pleased with this machine and I expect to get extensive use out of it. I would recommend it both for a DIY enthusiast and a tradesman (or woman )

A very good product. I use it for hobby’s in hard wood, it cuts very well and is accurate. it is a very robust piece of equipment. I would recommend it to anyone. I found it to be reasonably easy to put together with the help of the video utube. the directions in the book provided were quite difficult and obscure, the video helped me out thanks utube, Now I am using it does the job very well.
Buzz through thick steel or aluminium like a hot knife through butte
I love my saw, I really do. Glides through 6mm mild with ease, I’d be tempted to try it on much thicker stuff with some cooling fluid.
Doesn’t fold up much smaller than it is expanded, and is pretty tall so it won’t fit under much either, best to leave it assembled. My on-off switch cover broke before I’d even finished assembling it, not a word from the manufacturer in reply though.

Brilliant piece of equipment, well worth the money, very accurate cuts, way much better than my last table saw the Einhell. cant see a better deal than this for the price very pleased.
Arrived on time tracking order all the way from depo to my doorstep. Package well and securely packed, opened checked to see if all if all items were packed,(all ok), you will need to read the manual well before assembly, I used and followed a video on youtube to put mine together with no problem at all, I checked all nuts and bolts then tightened if needed, it took a while to set the fence and mitre guide once set the accuracy of the cuts were spot on. I have been testing cutting for accuracy for the past few days, I am well pleased with the table saw, finger joints and dado groves, once set up on jigs were spot on. well done A1 table saw. Thank You

What a piece of kit, I really don’t know how Ive managed for 5 years with my old metabo one
had this delivered today. what an amazing bit of kit this is. I watched a guy on YouTube assemble the base his name was Russell Platten . actually I watched it over and over . so when mine came I was out there building . I found it better to put the nuts on finger tight which gives you a bit of wriggle room for the spacers you have to use between frame as you build it up . then tighten the lot up but don’t over do it. do take your time setting this saw up . read the manual. I’ve spent most of the afternoon doing this and the rewards are great perfect cuts every time . I read all the reviews before buying there were a few negative ones about damaged boxes and damaged parts. cant see how this thing is so well packed. now I can buzz the Neighbours with the new saw. Eventually got stand sorted out, after a few hours. Rather wider than thought, would not get through a standard door frame. Would have given 5 stars but there was slight damage to the table edges where package appears to have been dropped.
Best package ever in my order history!!!riving knife came bended,so when i try to cutt some wood it forces against it and make some ugly side marks on it.it whould be nice to send me a new riving knife?!,this is useless,and very dagerous!

This saw is quite big but it is so easy to move about and fold up and down for storage, It extends out a good distance for cutting Sheets, It is actually a quiet running motor which is a bonus. The blade guard could of been better designed. That is the only faul

i am a big fan of Evolution their product are strong and have the multi purpose blade too it so handy to work with i will keep on buying their produc
Works great and is very comfortable for small to medium size spaces due to it’s mobility.
This is a well made saw and the reason I purchased is to have a saw that is capable of cutting metal as I do some small metal fabrication sometime. I have used it easy to set up and cuts well looking forward to many years of use with this saw
I bought this tablesaw somewhere else thought I would say what I think about it yes its a good tablesaw but when you start it up fear assisted as the kickback is quite alarming seeing its all plastic hope its strong enough and all so takes long time to stop I think if they had put soft start and brake on it and the sliding table nearer the blade it would be fantastic anyway quite pleased with it also the blade guard needs to be clear plastic not black so you can see what your actually cutting and needs to be reshaped so it goes over the wood properly
Great saw for weekend woodworker. Folds away when not in use. I was looking at the Dewalt saw but this is half the price and easy to store.

A great value piece of kit at this price. It was just about the least i could spend and get a front and back mounted fence, and decent size table. The bonus is rest of it is pretty good too, and cuts are a dream.
As just about everyone reports on this and the fury table saw, the blade guard is crappy, and needs modifying to be reliable or leaving off to remove the hindrance, at your own risk of course.
5 out 5 though, I’m chuffed with it!
Fantastic table saw for the hobbyist with limited space. The saw was a bit tricky to assemble but once together it works excellently. I love that you can fold it down for easy storage and all of the accessories can be stored in the saw when folded.

Well made. It’s worth taking the time to ensure everything is aligned properly out of the box, but easy to adjust anyway. A bit fiddly to assemble maybe, but fifteen minutes with a cup of coffee while you study the instructions and all becomes clear! It’s worth investing in a mitre / angle gauge (I use a digital one) especially for cutting compound angles, but then it makes accurate, clean and repeatable cuts. The sliding guide works really well I find. The extension pieces on the table are also useful. Some people have said the blade guard is awkward to use, but I haven’t found that. The chunky quick-clamp fence is pretty solid.
Minus points: a bit heavy, but that’s probably a good thing given its purpose; and it is on wheels which makes things easier. No soft start, so it starts with a bang.

fantastic for the money the multi blade works well with poly carb sheets and metal sheet.
takes about 20mins to build it up and folds away neat.
