Best table saw by miles for the money. Better features than most high end portable saws and wider cut capacity. Very sturdy fence and cut accuracy plus the wood blade gives great finishes

The Saw is fantastic quality and great value for money. There was just a small delay on the delivery but I was well informed of this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSaw arrived quickly, straight away I noticed the box had been resealed with sellotape, I immediately thought that I have received a returned item, upon opening the box my suspicions were confirmed, the polystyrene packing was split, the three pin plug cover was loose in the box etc and when I removed the saw from the box I took a good closer inspection before I assembled it, upon doing so I noticed that the blade was sitting at an angle, having looked at the underside I noticed that the motor mounting bracket was bent and so the motor itself had come adrift, pondering over the hassle of sending it back I decided to keep it and repair it which was relatively straight forward, the reason I’m explaining this is to emphasize the importance of thoroughly checking everything.
That said after using it a number of times I found it ideal for what I wanted, and I was using it mostly to cut hardwood which it did very accurately, I even cut my Aluminium stair spindles to length with ease and with a nice clean smooth edged cut, the only drawback I found was the sliding bed was loose fitting in the guide making it difficult to achieve the correct angle cut, overall this is a great saw for a reasonable price

This is a brill product for the price. By far worth it over the cheaper versions. It took 2 of us a bit to assemble, having never built one before I get why. It’s sturdy, fold’s away easily and can be moved around as you need. Best bit, my blade was perfectly straight once attached so no adjusting.

A good saw and great if Ida short of space and need to put the saw away! The fence and blade were so far out of alignment it was visible to the eye but half an hour on YouTube gave great advice on how to rectify this easily! The fence is poor and I will be upgrading this as soon as possible! Great cuts when set up correctly!

    Fantastic tool.
I know some people have criticises thr build quality but for this price I think it is stellar.
There’s a couple of plastic components but the overall build quality of up to a heat standard and it cuts perfectly. The multi material blade is nice and has a tiny kerf for its cutting power. The motor hasn’t struggled with anything and the fence has been a great upgrade from my old job site saw.
A little setup and the measure is dead on and the fence remains straight without worry.

The mitre gauge is a little unreliable at first, I’d recommend shimming the slide to remove the slight side to slide play and swap it’s fence out for a sacrificial board or something. It’s definitely best used the the sliding table feature which I have to say is great.

I like th included stand. It’s very sturdy and quick to raise or lower. It definitely makes moving the heavy saw easier.
It’s frustrating (as I work in a very small shop) that it’s footprint is so large – may not be an issue for everyone but worth keeping in mind if the stand is an important aspect for you.

Overall a great saw with a great selection of accessories.

Does exactly what I was looking for, as a DIYer this tool covers all the bases and would be useful for more than I need to do! Fairly easy to build, just read the instruction book. Great to store as it folds up very quickly and without effort Accurate cuts and easy to adjust for different widths and angles Blade cuts all that I have tried it with- all in all very satisfied.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis review is basically about the manual, and why over 90% of people who buy this saw will not use the guard and if they do they will have the blade height set incorrectly, and why the will not use the other very important safety feature fitted when ripping, ie the sub fence!
I have not long unpacked and built my saw, so I believe I have the latest instructions. (Jan 2020)
Although Evolution tell you in the instruction that you should always use the guard and use the sub fence for ripping, they have FAILED to make it clear IMOA that to fit the guard so that it works correctly you are required to adjust the riv RIVING KNIFE to just about it’s full height so that the GUARD will work even if you have only a small amount of blade above the table.

The SUB FENCE that possibly 99.99% of people WILL NOT USE, but it is there as another SAFETY AID for when you RIP CUT real wood ie 4×2 etc, it should be fitted so that the furthest point of the SUB FENCE is aligned with about the centre of the blade ie the blades highest point, this is so that it the timber you are ripping want to move away from the blade once it has been cut it has somewhere to go and A. will help stop burn marks, but more importantly B. prevent it from pushing itself off the fence onto the blade, which is another reason, for KICKBACK !!

So there you have it, the chose is yours, be safe, don’t rush, and stop and think about what you are going to do, and if it does not feel right, DON’T DO IT and find ANOTHER WAY, that’s SAFER!!!!!!!!!! AS THIS IS THE ONE TOOL THAT PUTS MORE PEOPLE INTO A&E every year!

Evolution have great customer service and their blades are excellent.
I’ve been really impressed with this mobile table saw. It’s easy to get in and out of the shed and the blade was @ 89.6deg when I put it together with no adjustments. It’s not that hard to assemble. Legs are a bit tricky as the instructions aren’t great but if you find it really difficult then I think you might want to think a bit harder about what kind of saw you really need.
It’s not a soft start but it doesn’t have a scary jump start either.
Sliding mitre slot has a little play but is easily sorted.
The fence clamps on both ends and I’ve found it very accurate once in place.
Wish it (still) had a larger off button that you could hit with your knee but it’s really a great piece of kit and I’ve started using it more and more.

Only thing I dislike was the instructions to assemble the folding legs. After a few rearranging parts it was up and running. Don’t underestimate the size of this tool. It’s a beast.

I really feel this is a very versatile table saw, especially its capability of multi material cutting. The table extensions have been extremely useful and the 90mm cutting depth is vital given the first jig you will likely make is a Cross Cut Sledge, this will subtract from the cutting depth somewhat. I only wish the model I have came with the flap type of stop switch as you can press Stop with your knee whilst maintaining a safe position around the job. With the small button type, I need to be certain the blade is clear before I take my eyes off the job and look for the red button.

  17. Anonymous says:

This saw is much bigger than I imagined even when folded. The attachments work well and the blade is excellent. However the small illustrations in the assembly instructions are far from clear making it very difficult to assemble. The blade guard is useless and when fitted will only allow the blade to descend half way. I believe the guard to be dangerous and I have removed it. Other than the above, it is an excellent machine for the price paid to Amazon.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI just love this tablesaw. its completely tuneable and very powerful. every little aspect of it belies the fact that its less than 300. I couldn’t have found a better saw for less than a grand and the sliding table is the kiddy.utterly brilliant. A very fine addition to the mobile workshop. i then saw these, bought 4 of them, made a perfect height table to run timber out to at the back of the saw. they aren’t for standard timber sizes (4×2 or 3×2) but that’s not a problem when you have a table saw to run the correct profile out on. brilliant stuff.

    Superb bit of kit.

I have never owned or used a table saw before and did a lot of research before I purchased one. Initially, I was going to buy the cheaper model but there are a number of reviews on YouTude suggested this is better value for money.

The instructions that came with it were no more than ok and I resorted to YouTube again to see how things lined up.

Once assembled I found the saw to work extremely well and it has enabled me to attempt things that seemed far away. I struggle to draw a line with a straight ruler and have found the fence to be sturdy and accurate.

The only issue I have is the amount of sawdust it chucks out. I have it Scheppach HA1000 vac and there still seems to be a lot of sawdust on the workshop floor, way more than I would expect. I have contacted Evolution support and working with them. Although they haven’t fixed the issue they respond fast.

The only reason I dropped a star is because of the sawdust problem.

Assembly was a little confusing but I got everything put together after a few tries. The instructions were a bit feeble to my way of thinking and could easily have been clearer. Once assembled by referring to the photographs on the box the machine is really good and does a fine job. I still haven’t figured out how the measurement rail is meant to be accurate but even on industrial saw benches I use a tape to confirm and a test ‘notch’ to confirm setting.
All in all though I haven’t seen anything as good as this anywhere near the price and quality. It folds into an easily stored unit.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersExcellent bit of kit, made one mistake during assembly but soon rectified after looking at the picture on the box. I checked the machine for bade angle, fence parallel to the blade and everything was perfect my only criticism is that the fence , although parallel, has a slight bend in the height along it’s length, ie place a square on the base and the only cotact with the fence is at the top of the square, this is for the entire length of the fence.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis little gem has really been a find for me after having various bench saws.
The instructions were simple enough to follow for the assembly of the machine, there are videos on YouTube too, I did find a spring that had popped out from inside but a quick call to Evolution support easily sorted it, they even sent me a diagram showing how to do it.
The saw itself did not need any adjustment doing to it (bonus ) and it is very easy to use and seems to tackle anything I throw at it, I have finer blades from other machines that were not up to much and with inserts work well in this machine.
Everything about this saw bench is good and I cannot fault it 8 months onward, oh 1 small point, the mains lead could be a little longer guys.

Didn’t like the instruction manual, the fence wasn’t at 90 degrees to the table and I needed to make a washer so that I could make a half and half joint jig. Fitting a new blade is a little difficult as there isn’t enough space for my fingers. As for the rest it was all set ready for use. The extending table is great and easy to use. The mitre guide when used in the table top slide is absolutely great, cuts very accurate mitres. Be aware that you should always check that the guide is at the correct angle using a separate gauge but that goes for every saw table mitre guide.
Over all very good value for the money would recommend to any DIY or even craftsman users.

Assembly not as bad as some previous reviewers had stated. Price reflects the accuracy of the measurement scales and the mitre gauge a little too sloppy but this can work in your favour if you need to do some careful trimming requiring slight angles.

Excellent bit of kit. This is my second Evolution saw, my other one is a cross cut chop saw.
This does everything I want it too.
Only fault I have found is there is no soft start, but have now got used to it.
I did have a slight problem putting saw together but watched U tube video which helped me.
I use this on all types of wood. I also recycle wood when making things and do not have to worry about any nails that may be left in the old wood. I can increase or decrease depth of cut, I can also cut differing angles.

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersI watched all the You Tube videos, some of which proved very optimistic and I bought it. Assembly was much easier than predicted and it is VERY easy to move around. Excellent cutting capacity but ONLY reasonable dust collection. Really does cut Alloy and Mild Steel. Fence very good in use and, provided you’ve set up the blade and fence for parallel to the mitre slots, gives excellent, repeatable results. Blade angle won’t adjust to exactly 90 degrees but very, very close. Extending table (in both directions) VERY useful. I had to, (and you’ll have to) : 1) Adjust the Mitre Guide shoe to fit the Mitre slots. To do this, use a hammer and Square face punch to (very gently) spread the lower track following faces 2) Make a Zero Clearance Insert as the standard insert is laughably wide cut so everything falls into the blade cavity 3) Resin fill the Ego-tripping “Evolution” recess in the infeed side of the table as otherwise some timber pieces WILL catch in it. This is the silliest design note I’ve ever encountered and 4) Cut away the bottom fill in on the Riving Knife/Safety Guard Support to make it easier to remove/install. Also check that your box contains the smaller part of the Rip Fence, mine didn’t but I didn’t care as I would have binned it anyway. Lastly, blade supplied is very thin and wobble noticeably in use. All in all, not perfect but very good value for money, especially for anyone who, as I have, has a space problem. If you buy it you’ll enjoy it, just don’t expect absolute accuracy out of the box.

  66. FranciscoGandon says:

The machine is brilliant. The pictures are of damage to the box when delivered by DPD! I was amazed that it wasn’t smashed to peices.
It took me about 2hrs to assemble it, patients and quite a bit of know how is required. But once done it cuts brilliantly, very clean, and accurate.

Assembly will need help as it is heavy. Instructions are a bit confusing, so read them carefully.

  67. TheronHFHB says:

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersIn my humble opinion it is worth more than what it costs; the rip fence is absurdly sturdy and easy to operate and the sliding carriage of the mitre gauge is an absolutely brilliant option. They allow to get precise cuts and are hard to find in table saws of this price category. If there was the soft start it would be perfect. The plastic of the main body gives a cheap feeling, anyway I did not notice any curving or bending of the table. Some tuning to do, nothing particularly difficult. The stand is a little elaborate to assembly but very practical to open and close. So far, I’m very satisfied. Sorry for my English.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFirst the bad, on day due to be delivered I received notification that Driver had been unable to find address. (Not really believable) When box arrived the next day I wasn’t overly happy to see it had been both repackaged by Yodel and by DPD. Also the location of despatch turned out to be Amazon returns center, not really what I was expecting. Anyways I watched an online video for how to put together, got everything I needed ready and put it together with very little trouble. As others have said it would have been nicer if the wheels fit in such a way as to allow you to go through a standard doorway with it rather than having to pick it up or dragging it through. The other thing people have said about is the guard, I can confirm that it is bloody useless, If you wanted to cut 5 mm material you have to jack up the height of the blade to about 10mm because the guard does not lift easily without enough clearance. Also being completely black means you cant see through it, which means you can’t see when the wood is about to touch the blade so you have to trust entirely in the fence. It may be that I need to adjust the height of the splitter but I couldn’t see easy way of doing so. The last thing that is going to be an issue is that the plate around the blade is a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the machine, this means making sure that the blade is set to the exact angle you want is a lot more annoying then it should be, I am going to see if I can insert some rods or something underneath to stiffen this area up a bit.

Now for the good, This thing is a beast, with the arms extended fully and someone else to assist I was able to push through a 3/4 inch thick 8×4 sheet of Ply in about 1/4 of the time it would have taken me just to get my straight edge all sorted and clamped into place for a Circular saw cut. The fence and guide whilst being a little stiff to start seems to stay true to the blade, the protractor and slide rail work perfectly for smaller pieces that requireangled cuts. Once I finish building my shed I will be using this a lot more, after which I will come back and update this review a little, maybe even add some photos 🙂

Not as difficult to put together as reports said as long as you read the instructions first and understand the parts supplied. As for the saw a little bit of time setting the blade up ensures square cuts with a strong parallel fence. Right angle fence a little loose but used with care is more than adequate. Not yet tried the sliding table. Folding facility really useful allowing the storage up against the shed wall, and table not so heavy that it can not be moved side ways. Much sturdier than expected. Up to now only one down side, if not using the square fence there is no where to store it on the machine not a biggy but would be useful.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI assembled the machine without much difficulty by following the manual and watching a you tube video, although I had to substitute some 8mm washers for a missing spacer.
I tested by trimming an old section of door frame timber that had a few nails in it which it not only cut without any problem but also enabled me to make all four sides perfectly square. That’s a degree of accuracy I did not expect. It can be set to trim wafer thin cuts of wood. The dust extraction facility is excellent when used with my vac. It’s easy to fold away for storage and quite manoeuvrable which was an important consideration for me as my work space is limited.
All in all I am very well pleased with this machine and I expect to get extensive use out of it. I would recommend it both for a DIY enthusiast and a tradesman (or woman )

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA very good product. I use it for hobby’s in hard wood, it cuts very well and is accurate. it is a very robust piece of equipment. I would recommend it to anyone. I found it to be reasonably easy to put together with the help of the video utube. the directions in the book provided were quite difficult and obscure, the video helped me out thanks utube, Now I am using it does the job very well.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersArrived on time tracking order all the way from depo to my doorstep. Package well and securely packed, opened checked to see if all if all items were packed,(all ok), you will need to read the manual well before assembly, I used and followed a video on youtube to put mine together with no problem at all, I checked all nuts and bolts then tightened if needed, it took a while to set the fence and mitre guide once set the accuracy of the cuts were spot on. I have been testing cutting for accuracy for the past few days, I am well pleased with the table saw, finger joints and dado groves, once set up on jigs were spot on. well done A1 table saw. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usershad this delivered today. what an amazing bit of kit this is. I watched a guy on YouTube assemble the base his name was Russell Platten . actually I watched it over and over . so when mine came I was out there building . I found it better to put the nuts on finger tight which gives you a bit of wriggle room for the spacers you have to use between frame as you build it up . then tighten the lot up but don’t over do it. do take your time setting this saw up . read the manual. I’ve spent most of the afternoon doing this and the rewards are great perfect cuts every time . I read all the reviews before buying there were a few negative ones about damaged boxes and damaged parts. cant see how this thing is so well packed. now I can buzz the Neighbours with the new saw. MANY THANKS AMAZON 1 HAPPY CUSTOMER

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersEventually got stand sorted out, after a few hours. Rather wider than thought, would not get through a standard door frame. Would have given 5 stars but there was slight damage to the table edges where package appears to have been dropped.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis saw is quite big but it is so easy to move about and fold up and down for storage, It extends out a good distance for cutting Sheets, It is actually a quiet running motor which is a bonus. The blade guard could of been better designed. That is the only faul

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is a well made saw and the reason I purchased is to have a saw that is capable of cutting metal as I do some small metal fabrication sometime. I have used it easy to set up and cuts well looking forward to many years of use with this saw

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersA great value piece of kit at this price. It was just about the least i could spend and get a front and back mounted fence, and decent size table. The bonus is rest of it is pretty good too, and cuts are a dream.

As just about everyone reports on this and the fury table saw, the blade guard is crappy, and needs modifying to be reliable or leaving off to remove the hindrance, at your own risk of course.

5 out 5 though, I’m chuffed with it!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFantastic table saw for the hobbyist with limited space. The saw was a bit tricky to assemble but once together it works excellently. I love that you can fold it down for easy storage and all of the accessories can be stored in the saw when folded.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersWell made. It’s worth taking the time to ensure everything is aligned properly out of the box, but easy to adjust anyway. A bit fiddly to assemble maybe, but fifteen minutes with a cup of coffee while you study the instructions and all becomes clear! It’s worth investing in a mitre / angle gauge (I use a digital one) especially for cutting compound angles, but then it makes accurate, clean and repeatable cuts. The sliding guide works really well I find. The extension pieces on the table are also useful. Some people have said the blade guard is awkward to use, but I haven’t found that. The chunky quick-clamp fence is pretty solid.
Minus points: a bit heavy, but that’s probably a good thing given its purpose; and it is on wheels which makes things easier. No soft start, so it starts with a bang.
