Easy to use
This mower was easy to assemble, it’s lightweight and easy to manoeuvre which makes cutting the grass enjoyable. Would recommend this product.
Brilliant for my small garden.
Ideal for my small garden, I can lift it easily and putting spacers in was fuss free. Although there’s no grass box I found that if I cut grass regularly I don’t have too much trouble with cuttings being blown out. Good little mower.

Some of the negative reviews for this mower are a bit baffling, and I think they come mainly from people who are desperate to be disappointed. I got this from the Amazon Warehouse, fully boxed with some tiny signs of previous use, for well under forty quid, and it seems like an absolute bargain. I’ll deal with some of the issues other people have said.
It doesn’t come with a cable tidy, but all you have to do is wrap the cable round the handles, it really isn’t hard.
The handles fold up into the vertical position very easily and very quickly, without any need to start taking things apart. It literally takes about 3 seconds, and then you can lie your mower flat against your shed wall. You just have to squeeze the handles together while folding them, it’s explained in the manual.
It’s quite noisy, but that’s because it’s powerful. Lawn mowers generally are noisy, but you won’t need earplugs, I promise.
To adjust the blade height you use the spanner that comes with the mower. It should take you a couple of minutes, and once you’ve got the height right, just leave it at that setting.
The only issue I’ve had is with the plastic pivot pins that fix the handles to the body (the little round things in photo 2). As lots of other users have reported, they are slightly loose. The Flymo online parts department sell these for about 3.79 delivered if you lose yours, and I suspect the replacements are a better fit.
I have a large lawn and use a heavy duty petrol mower, but I’ve planted an orchard and I don’t want to damage my trees with the big mower. This little Flymo is perfect for the job. It’s very light and easy to manoeuvre. Yes, it has its limitations, but with garden machinery you do get what you pay for, and this is good value for money. And if you register it with Flymo (part of Husqvarna) you’ll get a two year warranty too. Great.

I got this as my lawn i have 2 small lawns and my original lawnmower was a pain to carry from back garden to front, this is so easy to use and much lighter to carry doesn’t cut quite as short as my previous lawnmower but that’s fine. Very very pleased with this one!!

I am in my late eighties and need ever lighter tools. This mower is certainly the lightest we have had and is very easy to use. The only slight drawback is that the mains cord is quite a lot shorter than my last (heavier) mower.

A lightweight mower for a smaller lawn.
We bought this mower for our front lawn. It seems best on fairly short grass, so it needs to be cut more frequently but as it is so light, it takes a short time to use so this is not a disadvantage.

It does the job very well
Our grass area is on a slope so we need a light mower which is easily manoeuvered. This mower fits the bill perfectly. It has more power than I was expecting from such a small mower and I’m very pleased with it.

Ideal hovermower for small law
This mower was easy to use in a small lawn. Just like hoovering. The flex had a long enough reach and the mower folded enough to store. It was necessary to undo the screws holding the handle to do this.

This small hover mower is ideal for small steeply sloping areas of lawn and I now have two – one for the front garden and one for the rear. They are light in weight and can efficiently cut areas where a heavy mower would be difficult to use safely. They are very easy to assemble and can easily be hung on a wall for storage.

Very light and manoeuvrable
We have a steep bank and this is light enough for me to cut both from the top and from the road holding the machine to cut the grass. I deducted 1 star as the wheel could be positioned slightly more prominently to assist with dragging the machine up the bank from the top

look, this mower is perfect for my small lawn, it would probably be equally as good for bigger lawns but you’ll need more extension lead, inverting this discussion ok .. mowing lawns is difficult particularly if long grass/ wet/ obstacles etc but .. every aspect of the process will probably be more difficult with a bigger mower, this mower has plenty of power, i wish it were completely weightless but that isn’t possible, as it is, it’s probably the lightest and cheapest mower there is but most importantly i like it very much
Good little mowe
Lightweight and very manoeuvrable.
Had a problem with one side where the push stud kept coming out so that we eventually altered it which means that the handle goes flat instead of staying up but that’s ok.

Nice long lead fitted and only four fixings to fit the two piece handle. I am past retirement age now so don’t want anything too heavy to handle. This Flymo 250 I found light and easy to handle even over the uneven parts of the lawn. It’s metal blade is very robust even on the most stubborn weeds!

Thought it would be more ‘hoverery’ but did the job! We had sewn the grass and it had grown seriously long hence the need for a lawnmower. This tackled it with only a little more effort than I thought. Now it’s short it’s a doddle. Took the grey matter time to put together but all in all I’m very pleased with it!

Needed a lightweight mower to replace our original Flymo which is a bit heavy for us now. This new one is ideal for our back garden, adjusted it to highest setting for first cut then adjusted to the lowest setting and does the job perfectly. I’ve always had a flymo, this is a small lightweight mower. Only gripe, is the point where the handle meets the body is fixed by plastic lugs which arn’t very sturdy.

Works well and cuts grass. Does not have a grass collector so leaves grass to mulch on your lawn. This means no collecting and raking up grass; however, wear wellies as you will get grass clippings thrown all over your feet/ lower legs.

Poor cut but blame the blade
Very disappointed in the cut of the grass, only had the mower for a month and the blade is in really poor condition already my grass plot is 2mts x 4mtrs so it has only been cut about 4/5 times. The blade is very poor quality

This mower cuts the grass very well. It’s my own fault for not realising but there’s obviously no way to catch the grass and it flies around the yard and paths a LOT. You have to sweep up afterwards which takes quite a while. Other than that, it’s lightweight, easy to manoeuvre and the different grass level settings are easy to adjust. I put all 3 extender pieces on and that’s the amount needed for a nice short cut.

Only negative aspect of this product is that the clips that hold the handles in place, are plastic garbage that come loose while mowing. Other than that the it is great and does the job very well.

I just made sure I cleaned it regularly as I was using it. No problems at all. I don’t know what they’re talking about saying it doesn’t fold up easily it folds up really easily and is a really easy size to store away. It does a big job for such a little mowe

Easy to assemble. VERY effective at cutting grass and even some soft stemmed weeds. The fact that you have to rake afterwards is a pain but its a perfect cost effective option for a small lawn.

A great little machine for a small lawn. It’s quite a flimsy little mower but it does the job on rough lawns; it would be no good for the ‘pride and joy’ type stripey lawn! Easy to use, easy to clean, cheap and cheerful!

Easy to assemble and use and makes light work of mowing the lawn. Only awkward bit is squeezing in the base of the handle on both sides simultaneously in order to be able to swing the handle down and hang the mower flat against a wall. Nonetheless delighted with the mower and would buy again.

We have a small garden so this ‘Flymo Turbo’ seemed just the job for us! We are very pleased with it – it’s small, very lightweight and folds-up neatly. We have ours hanging up in the garage so very accessible – all-in-all – it makes very light work of moving the lawn and definitely worth Five Stars – Great Little Mower!

Assembling the system is easy. It can be set up and get it working within 10-15 minutes. It does not collect the grass. That needs to be done separately. It does cut the grass properly. I did not face any problem so far.

This lawn mower is a powerful little beauty. My last one was an older flymo, quite heavy to push around the grass but done a great job. It eventually died after 14 long years of flawless service. Sad to see it go. But this new flymo is much lighter, it glides around the grass like a hovercraft and cuts the grass and any random twigs/sticks with ease. Now that I have a light weight mower, I can get the kiddies to cut the grass instead while I paint the walls with lipstick and flush unwanted toys down the toile

Super light weight cuts well and I can finish the garden in half the time.

Good quality lightweight lawn mowe
I found it tricky to put together but I am not good at construction! After some help to put together I have found it very easy to use and light.
Perfect solution to small, difficult gardens.
I purchased this model to replace an older, bigger model which my wife (who does most of the gardening!) found too heavy and cumbersome for our small garden/verges and particularly the steep slopes adjacent to the lane. Excellent product, easy to use, lightweight and does ‘hover’, not dig in like the old one!

I love this lawnmower it’s so light and easy to manoeuvre,and I love the fact you don’t have to worry about a grass box, it cut lovely and even.
I underestimated the size of my newly acquired garden so I can’t blame flymo for that – having said that I’m limited on storage space so I’m in a catch 22 situation.
The mower itself works – it cuts and it’s keeping my lawns as tidy as my next door neighbours (with his fancy petrol mower).
Assembly instructions weren’t the best and even though the only assembly is the two part handle, you want to get it right – I didn’t the first time and one of my plastic bolts fell out and almost got itself mowed.
I had trouble lowering the handle for storage and then to my horror realised you literally have to bend over and squeeze the lower handles in toward the body of the mower – not easy when you’re barely 5 foot tall and lacking in upper body strength at the best of times.
Another problem with the mower (or with it being too small for my lawns) is that the vents get clogged every 10 minutes or so and it stops ‘hovering’ until I brush them out – I didn’t realise this was the problem until I read the manual.
The blade height adjustment works well – I was worried about having to handle the blade while doing this but the blade isn’t sharp – I think a sharper blade would be better actually, but then I’m sure it would not have passed ‘health and safety’.
All in all a decent mower for the price – if you have a very small garden.
Does the job!
This mower does a good job, although it does not cut as short and as uniformly as my previous mower (a Qualcast easylite). This may be because the mowing season has only just started, and regular mowing will probably give better results. The mower is light and very easy to use.
