great purchase
I am so pleased with my new step ladder. I had a much bigger one that at my age I shouldn’t have been using, I no longer have as my builder fell off it, and twisted the whole thing beyond repair. I felt it was time it went to the tip. I now have a very, very safe ladder befitting a lady gardener, Happy days.

I spent ages looking for steps. I have terrible balance, am disabled and seriously ill, and needed to get up higher for various jobs, but have no balance, as mentioned, no strength, and basically shake like nobody’s business when I’m up a ladder, even if I actually manage to get up one. So needed something I could actually get up, and something I could stay up, even if for short amounts of time.
These steps are excellent. The steps themselves are extra wide and have very ‘grippy’ steps of rubber, so extra non slip, and the side rails and top rail give you something to grip when you are up them. The first major pain in the backside I had to tackle alone was a trellis that had been fitted years ago above my front door way above any height I could easily reach, that had become worn and needed painting, but was inaccessible, but with steps up to my front door, and being alone, I needed a secure set of steps I could get up alone, whilst holding a paintbrush, and being able to hold onto the safety rails. With these steps, and having my paint balanced on my wheelie bin next to me I was able to manage this, even managing to stand on the top step with ease, and still hold on to the top rail.
The steps feel totally secure, and due to weight fluctuation from Cushing’s disease I am currently 18 stone, so that should give you an idea of the weight they can handle and still feel secure. I was still shaking, but the steps didn’t move at all, so I didn’t feel unsafe on them, plus with the safety rails and the rail at the top, you really feel you have something to hold on to that is totally secure. The steps are also wide and secure enough that you don’t feel like you need to reach ‘ground’ to feel the feeling of safety like you do if you feel scared on a normal ladder.
I previously used one of those multi functional ladders that open out to a platform with the metal plates that lay across the rungs, which I borrowed from a friend, as a test before considering buying one of my own, and have to say that this feels so much more secure than one of those ever did, and this stepladder was also much much cheaper than I would have paid for one of those. So in all I would say this is a star buy, and I am very pleased I went with this type of ladder, and this particular item. I can see many uses for this item already, and feel confident in using it, whereas I have been putting off doing jobs using the ladder I borrowed from my friend, because I just didn’t feel comfortable or safe using it.
I would definitely recommend this ladder, and it was also easy to assemble with only the side rails needing attaching. The only reason I’ve only given it 4 stars for durability is I can’t really comment on that given I’ve only just purchased it.
Not suitable for elderly people.
Great steps, but unfortunately a lot heavier than expected, would not recommend for an elderly person ( like me)!!

These are good sturdy step ladders. I purchased them for my husband, who is 70 and not confident at height. The treads are wide and non slip, and together with the hand rails he feels much safer. When fully open they don’t open as wide as our old wooden ladder, which means it’s possible to get much closer to whatever it is you need to reach. Some reviewers say these are heavy ladders, but we don’t think they are unduly heavy. The handrails are simple to attach and can only go on in one way so there was no problem fitting them. Very happy with this purchase.

Wonderful. My lights are inset in the ceiling and I dreaded one of them failing, as I find it hard to stretch up, and my balance isn’t good. Last time I had to ask a neighbour to do it.
Then I saw these steps. They are quite heavy, but not ridiculously so, but enough to feel secure. The treads are big and grippy rubber, room for both feet with comfort. Best of all, I can lean forwards against the top rail, which makes me feel very secure.
Since they arrived I’ve changed two bulbs in around five minutes, instead of having to pluck up courage to try to reach from a chair (and then giving up and asking for help!). Some commented they are bulky to store. I’m fine – it goes in the spare bedroom, behind the door. Not visible, and the door doesn’t open all the way, but it’s still good, easily enough space to get into the room.
Finally, if you are unsteady or nervous I’d recommend the four-step one. Though I only went on to the second step to change my lights, it was reassuring to lean forwards against the bar.

Large stepladder very stable and is quit heavy, made of white painted metal good for safety with handles that help to you steady yourself. Don’t leave it where it is too damp or wet because it will show rust through the paint, but it does fold which makes it easier to store. Very good ladder.

A very sturdy pair of steps. Not light at 10.5 kilos, but very stable. If you are able bodied you will find having these worthwhile. The hand rails provide reassured safety. Good for decorating, but don’t expect to move them around easily with one hand.
Very happy with these ladders
I purchased these a few weeks ago but have only just started using them for decorating. They are very sturdy and I do feel very safe on them. Well constructed and easy to put up and fold down. They are a bit heavy but I find that only irksome when decorating in a smaller area with furniture and you have to move them around a lot but that could be more to do with the fact that I don’t like painting much. Great value for money!!

Fantastic steps.
This is a remarkably good buy.I do not know how they can do it for this price and the quality is excellent. I am 70 years old now and standing on normal steps with narrow treads is just impossible for me as it makes my legs ache too much. Not anymore though,the width of these treads means you can get full support under the whole of your feet. The side rails are also very useful to steady yourself and give that extra confidence that you are safe. This is one of my best ever buys.

You can’t have it both ways I suppose. Aluminum for lightness, steel for strength and stability. These ladders do feel reassuringly stable and safe but they are seriously heavy. The large treads and the handrails are obviously going to add weight to an already sturdy item. I am an active 70yr old 6ft 2in male and I can carry them about but not without some grunting and moaning. My wife of a similar age would struggle. That said they seem to be well made and good value for money if safety is a priority.
These are brilliant safety ladders. It means I can reach higher with complete confidence as there are rails to hold on to. For things like changing light bulbs or reaching on top of cupboards. My only criticism is that they are quite heavy to manouvre and a bit stiff because they are new. However, this is offset by their sturdiness. I am pleased with these over all, and am sure they will give many years of use.

As I get less stable on ladders as age takes its toll I find I can now work confidently at height with these steps, great product.
Delivered in 24 hours and was exactly as described. It is heavy but if I can manage it at 79, and 5 foot tall, most people shouldn’t find that a problem. It is very stable and strong and the handrails make me feel very secure. I found the instructions easy to follow having read some previous reviews. Love these step ladders they make me feel so much safer when doing anything up high the only downside is they are quite heavy.
Although Heavy – (We purchased one for upstairs and one for downstairs) these are Great Value for Money.
The first one came without the screws to fit the handrails – But one quick free call to Amazon Customer Services and everything was resolved. So much so that we bought another for upstairs.

Sturdy well made ladder which arrived promptly – I have no idea what I didn’t buy one ages ago instead of wobbling about on my rickety aluminium one. Just started a major decorating job and this ladder is perfect.
Have M.S and this is the safest step ladder I have ever used. Hated having my old one never was safe on it it’s heavy but that’s a plus for me,live on one level no stairs. Look for job’s instead of avoiding them. Highly recommend for the disabled.

Very strong, good height, folds for storage, and if you don’t need the side rails, or don’t mind putting them on everytime you do need them (as it’s only 4 bolts) then it’s depth is only a few cm’s.
Good heavy ladde
Good heavy ladder, which means it’s stable. The handrails and the rail at the top make you feel safe when on the ladder. It is fairly bulky so you need some space for storage.
Specifically needed steps with decent support rails that didn’t cost a fortune. They are quite heavy and feel fairly secure. Cons are that the support rails I would describe as adequate rather than strong, and the clip to stop the steps folding accidentally is naff. Still liked them enough that I’ve bought two sets though.

I am 61 years of age and must have climbed up hundreds of ladders, believe me when I say this is the best ladder ever!’ The rubber feet, wide rubber treads and handles make it very sturdy, it feels firm and safe. It is heavy, but in a solid, you are safe, way which I really like. It came flat packed very quickly, and the handles had to be attached, but it was simple to do, this is a great ladder, extremely pleased.

Excellent step ladder, my wife feels very secure in using this ladder. With having a knee operation even the slightest of heights used to stop her decorating, now she can reach the ceiling and do all the coaching in again.

This has paid for inself in just a few days. I have cleared moss off, my one storey, kitchen roof and cleaned out the low gutters. It is heavy’ish but that means it sturdy when you stand on it. Wish I had ordered one before now.
What it says on the tin! Sturdy steps with deep treads and very stable. A wee bit heavy to move about. Treads are wide enough at the top for the average paint pot. Quite a tall item when folded, so beware of this for your storage options in your house.

Perfect. Stable, safe, no more bruised shins from skinny ladders, good quality, not too heavy, can reach ceiling from third step, and the high bar is good to hold at height. Good price too. Didn’t bother with the safety rails. Very pleased with them, they have made decorating so much easier.
I am really impressed with this ladder. I needed extra height in an easily portable format that was sturdy and secure. The ladder arrived promptly, fully assembled with the exception of the safety handrails which were supplied in the package with the correct bolts, washers and nuts. Note: the hand rails are not interchangeable due to the angle of the bend, top and bottom. To ensure they are the right way round, follow the instructions but hold on of them up to the appropriate holes on the main frame. If they do not match, switch to the other handle. This should fit fine. Now you are ready to attach them. To be sure of a tight connection, I used a pair of pliers on the nut and a screw driver on the bolt. the whole process took less than 5 minutes.
The ladder is very strong with rubber covered steps and rubber covered feet. Opening and closing is robust, but easy. The handle above the top step is strong. I feel very secure using this ladder almost anywhere provided that I can find a suitably even surface to put it on.
A good product with generously sized treads. The top handle and side hand rails makes it much safer than standard step ladders. Solidly built and good stability. The only construction required was putting on the side hand rails, which was quick and easy. I bought these for my dad who’s in his seventies, as his old step ladders were worryingly rusted, and he didn’t look at all safe using them. With these new ones though, he seems a lot more steady, and although we try to dissuade him from climbing ladders to prune trees, at least if he’s going to do it, he’s much safer on these new ones!
