This is just amazing for the price. Bought it for my daughter who is at Uni & renting.
Have just given it a test run and it’s picked up bits my very expensive Dyson left behind.
Love that it’s easy to adapt to dusting skirtings. It’s sooo light to use, whizzed I up the staircase with it. The light is also really bright which is great for the edges.
It’s great that there’s a handy storage bag for the extra tools and spare filter.
I’m so pleased with it I may give her my clumpy Dyson instead.

    Good Hoove
Only for occasional use as we have a cleaner once a week. Good suction, easy to use, lightweight. Have to remove hairs that have wrapped around manually. Easy to empty. Not so easy to detach to use as handheld or reaching high up.

All the power I needed in a small size
I was looking for something minimal in size and with a detachable battery as living in a boat it is great to take just the battery and charge it at work. I am impressed, it does the job nearly as nicely as the Dyson V8 Animal I had when living on land. Picks all the hairs and dog fur from everywhere, carpets, rugs, floor and the motorised brush is easy to remove and has a creuse to cut through all the hair and remove. Only downside is that the brush is so good that it gets stuck in light mats and need to use without it.
Has all the basic accessories and I don’t mind the smaller capacity as my space is not big. Still get to catch lots of dirt before I need to empty, which requires a bit of practice, and the battery can last for two or three complete cleans. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersIt's better than. I thought!!
I wrote the review below after a year of owning this hoover but ignore it and learn from my mistake. The hoover works fine picking up dog hair you just need to clean the filter regularly to maintain enough suction. Since cleaning the filter it has started performing as it did when I first received it.

First what is good about this product is that it is compact, lightweight and therefore stores easily which is great for saving space. However it is concentrating on these features which have probably led to what I think are its substantial shortcomings. The product is marketed on the basis that it good for vacuuming pet hair and I am afraid that is not the case. The problem is where the suction tube meets the cylinder. This gap is very narrow and if you have a dog, like I do, who has hairs that are by no means long the top of the tube or the cylinder becomes blocked and suctions is lost completely. In practical terms this means you are for ever taking off the cylinder and unblocking the tube to start again. You will repeat this process continually until the battery or your patience runs out.

If you have a pet with even moderate hair length I would avoid this product unless you want to turn vacuuming into an aerobic exercise where you have to walk to the waste bin every five minutes to empty the blocked tube and the cylinder.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReally good worke
This is light, portable and gets up a lot of rubbish. It does pick up hair -and I don’t even have a pet – I’m surprised how long I’m trimming the hairs off the brush, I had no idea we moulted that much!. I’m not sure how long it does last, i’ve never used it at one go from freshly charged to requiring another boost but it certainly lasts long enough to go through my modest house with left overs. The one thing I would mark it down for is the sheer difficulty of getting off the rubbish holder, difficult to wrestle off even worse to get back on properly.

Only a few weeks old and has broke
I previously left a review saying how well this worked, but let’s see how long it lasts. Well! After just a few weeks, the lid to the collection bin has broken and fallen off! It is very plasticky and not durable atall. I have checked to see how to report this in order to get a replacement part.
The procedure is such a faff! I have to return the broken pieces by walking a mile to a shop (I don’t drive). Then I’ll have to wait however long to get a replacement, without a vacuum cleaner at home.
I have found this procedure a real chore in the past, and it’s the only thing I find taxing about Amazon. I can’t find a way of talking to someone in order to get this sorted……I will try not to order any more large items from Amazon because of the faff when things go wrong.
So, mu advise…..don’t buy this cheaply made vacuum…….

Love this Hoover. We switched from a Henry hoover with pet head and have not been disappointed. We have 2 cats and this Hoover has tackled the job perfectly. It’s light powerful and I love the built in torch. Manoeuvres well and goes pretty flat.

    Converted to cordless hoovers!
I’ve had my corded hoover for years and was not convinced that a cordless one would have the same power but I really wanted something lightweight and easy to carry up and down stairs. After much research this Hoover brand came out second in reviews behind the very expensive Dyson Animal and it is like 200 cheaper! I am really pleased with how it performs, you can have it on normal suction or turbo and it has massively improved my carpets (I have a cat that sheds a lot of fur). The only thing to get used to is the battery time, I wish it were longer (its about 30-40 mins) but the (light) weight and maneuverability is a massive plus. Definitely converted and definitely recommend.

    sick of it !!
Just bought this because I am sick of my g tech pet air ram going over stuff but not picking it up, I purchased that because my old Dyson was too heavy and I can’t afford the new cordless ones, very disappointed with g tech, they are overated. I love this one, very lightweight, picks everything up with plenty of suction and the accessories are great help, I’m 65 so anything that helps me keep my bungalow clean is great. As with anything I buy I find understanding the instructions difficult so I will probably look on you tube. Having used this vacuum several times I have found that the battery doesn’t last long , this should come with a second battery so there is always one ready to use. I have now purchased a second battery so I can vacuum the whole house.
I am now 23/5/22 thoroughly sick of this vacuum. I hadn’t realised when I bought it that it needed to be on turbo constantly in order to get enough suctio to pick up properly. I have read that in turbo the max time is about 8 minutes, I probably get less than that and it isn’t enough time to hoover throughout my small bungalow. As the charge time is 6 hours it is too difficult to clean my house in one day. Keep reading people are getting 2 batteries with theirs, I certainly didn’t !!!!!!!!

This is a sleek and lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner, much lighter than my old Gtech, great for small spaces, versatile thanks to all the components/tools and takes up very little storage space. Great buy!

Works well in small house - needs bigger dust storage
Works well so far (about 6 months) – great at getting blasted dogs hair out of the carpet (I think we’re getting out stuff that’s been there for years). Definitely needs bigger dust storage as it has to be emptied too frequently (and the corners of the dust bin are a pain to get into, even with the supplied tools). Can’t speak for stairs, as we don’t have any, but I don’t see why there’d be a problem, as it’s pretty light. Suspect a bigger house would need to invest in extra batteries – we usually manage most of the (relatively small) house on a charge, but only just. Doesn’t really need a dock – we just leave it standing upright on the floor with the battery charge cable plugged in. Satisified overall, given the price (175) – much cheaper than the D word

  13. Miriam says:

    Not suitable for hard floors
A great vacuum cleaner, works really well on carpets but not good on hard floors, it tends to just push any crumbs etc. you have to have it on boost and move slow so it can suck it up. Therefore the battery runs out quickly ( there is the option of grabbing the second battery obviously)
I love the way it can be taken apart to clean, also the brush can be removed to take off long hairs which is a bonus.
An all in all ideal Hoover for carpets, hopefully they improve the hard floor cleaning capabilities on their next model as it is a let down on this one.

    Light and easy to use
This is a lovely hoover. Light to use, manoeuvres easily and attachments swap in and out easily. So much easier to get this out than main cylinder hoover, so house gets cleaned in stages more frequently.

    Surprisingly good
I read reviews in Good Housekeeping and it was second in their review.
A 179 it was a lot cheaper than other vacuums.
Nice weight and great performance .
I prefer to use this rather than my plug in Dyson.
As with other cordless vacs, the dust cylinder is small and a bit more awkward to empty and there’s no place to carry the tools on the vac.
However, these are small sacrifices for a great little vac.

    Great suction and extremely lightweigh
Very lightweight! Picks up dog hair really well! Love the fact it can stand independently as other cordless ones I’ve had in the past need lying down or propping up when you momentarily stop your hoovering and move to another room. It’s the lightest one I have had. The battery life is good. Easy to detangle the roller brush from hair etc.

I deliberately bought this model with two batteries which takes the gamble our of using it. I like that the brush can be removed easily and cleaned. The capacity of the dust bowl seems adequate. I use it both on hard floors and carpets.

Does need a second battery if you have a large home and hovering more than 3 rooms on one charge, it does take 2 or 3 hrs to re charge.
Also great for the car or caravan.

Really like this. It’s lightweight, really easy to use & has a super handy light on it (which highlights things before you Hoover then up). Only issue I have with it is hair. I have long hair as do my 2 girls & it just wraps around the bottom of the Hoover – not sure how it would be if we had pets too.

    Should’ve bought it sooner!
We held off from buying a cordless vacuum cleaner as we weren’t convinced it would be powerful enough or that the battery would last long enough to clean the whole house. Also we don’t have a mega budget to afford a Dyson. But this machine is brilliant! It cleans our 3 bedroom cottage easily on one charge. It gets all the dust up and the cat hairs. It works effortlessly on wood flooring, kitchen tiles, short and long pile rugs and it’s great on the spiral stairs. And as it is light in weight you can carry it around the house easily. We also love how you can make it into a hand held little vac for the high up corners and awkward spaces.

When I was looking for a new hoover, I looked at all the reviews for this one, it’s the best thing I ever bought.
I’ve had the hoover a week, used it numerous times and not needed to charge it alot, the suction is so great I’ve not used the turbo button, the brush picks up all the little pieces on my floor and the light on the end shows things that I’ve missed.
I used the little brush end for hair and it picked alot up when I came to clean it.
The only problem I’ve had so far is the stairs, I’ve had to go over it twice as it missed bits, apart from that I think its great, better than my last two hoovers.

I bought this to use I’m my kitchen and living room, both of which have hard floors. It’s excellent for running around every day to keep the place clean and tidy. Powerful enough for what I use it for and does the job well. I have used it on carpets a couple of times and it’s OK but bit great. It qp t do the job for a proper full om house clean and can’t compete with a cabled Shark/Dyson so don’t expect it to.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat Suctio
This Hoover 500 is recommended for carpets. The suction is powerful even without Turbo power enabled.
It doesn’t perform so well on hard surfaces though and cannot easily pick up small crumbs in the kitchen.
I purchased to replace my old cordless Dyson which has served us well over the years. We have kept the Dyson for our hard floors as it has a special roller attachment which the hoover does not.
The Hoover is very neat and small when adapted to the shorter storage mode.
Battery life is good when using in standard mode but Turbo mode does reduce its running time. I recommend purchasing a spare battery ( about 50 ) in case it runs out. Overall pleased with the purchase and it is certainly worth considering over the very expensive Dyson vacuum cleaners.

Got this cleaner because my other was awkward to carry up and down stairs – this is light and easy to carry about, plus many tools for particular jobs. Gets flustered by lots of pet hair, but brushes easy to clear and you can see clearly when it needs emptying, which there is a tool for.

The best on the market for the price and it really does do what the video Shows! The best battery vacuum there is (without spending 600 on a Dyson) I’ve gone through 3 in 2 years thinking spending a little will Solve it, but this one definitely has.

What’s not to love? We live in a 2 bedroom apartment and have a dog who seems to shed year round and I can hoover the whole place including the stairs without the battery running out. I’ve even managed to vacuum two days running on one charge.
Obviously, if you use it in ‘turbo’ mode the battery runs out more quickly but I can still get most of the house done.
The big toothbrush thingy is absolutely genius. I hope whoever thought of it applied for the patent!
The fact that you can take every part of the canister to bits in order to clean it is amazing.
Like I said, what’s not to love!

    Battery Life Overadvertised
The pick-up on this vacuum is great, but in practice you will rarely get the advertized 40 minutes out of this device and it takes about 7 hours to recharge, once fully depleted. I would recommend this for smaller flats only (below 100 square meters)

This is a very well made device with nice features. The attachments click in easily and they even give you a special Hoover bag to store them in so they don’t get lost – nice touch. I cleaned my car with it and it was very good. Swapping attachments for crevices, mats, seats etc. The transparent dirt collector is a good feature as you can see how much dirt and debris you have collected and know when to empty it obviously. Stands up on its own minimising use of space. Half the price of other similar machines but works very well. No negative comments to make so far. Great scores given to it on comparison sites.

We are a family of 6 one of which is a toddler,we have 2 dogs and 4 cats so animal hair and crumbs are a certainty, charge lasts for the quick daily whiz around and then another charge will do a deep hoover of a room with ease.
Obviously only holds a small amount but with how easy it is to empty it’s not an issue, long hair does wrap around the brush as it does on all brushes but yet again it’s very easy to take the brush out to clean.

    Needs more battery life!!!
It’s a great compact Hoover with good suction and high agility. The problem is because of that I can happily run around the house just vacuuming things I wouldn’t or couldn’t with my old Vax. Then the battery dies after less than 8 mins. I’ve now bought two spare batteries and and extra charger (takes over 4 hours to charge a battery wtaf?) for an extra cost of 60. What were the engineers thinking. A larger battery with a fast charger would make this a great product. I feel like I’ll spend my days obsessing with Hoover batteries from now on. Sigh.

I’ve had four or five cordless vacuums and most have something major wrong with them. Some are loud, don’t pick anything up, get clogged up and the Vax I had couldn’t stand up and fell over and scratched the wall. This Hoover 500 is superb. It’s lightweight, has a long battery life, easy to manoeuvre and the attachments can be fitted very quickly. It even folds down if you’re tight for space.

    Good for dog hairs
Brought this item as our dog is always dropping hair, it’s been a good Hoover but sometimes it does block when there is a lot of hair but it is very easy to get to all parts and clear the hover. I have to say I can hover downstairs and just get some of upstairs done before the battery dies. But the Hoover is very light and versatile and easy to use a good buy.

It's Good, Does what it says on the box.
It works both on carpet and hard floors. Good for going over furniture and can be quickly taken from one mode to another, the tools that I mainly use are attached and not fiddly to change.

The only slightly negative thing is the size of the dust collector, it has to be emptied after each use, maybe a good thing!!

A right angled long haired dusting brush would be useful. The tube is rectangular so the generic ones don’t fit.

The seller directs me to a website but doesn’t give an address and then wants a video of a charger not charging eh!! I’m giving up and now have to buy a charger.
I wouldnt buy again because it cost 159 and now I cant use it unless I spend more money on a charger after only 6 months, the guarantee of 2 years isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.

I bought the ‘Pet’ model. We have four cats and a dog. The special head is excellent at hoovering up hair from pets bedding, carpets and from hard floors. Using the same head makes hoovering stair carpets easy. It takes a time to get used to emptying the collection drum regularly and making sure the filter is clean. The machine will stop if it needs emptying or the battery is low. It is so easy to use around the house and in bathrooms especially. I have a Henry Hoover for sturdier hoovering.

Downstairs our house is all hard flooring, two other floors are carpets. We decided to replace the Dyson with a corded Shark for the upper floors and carpets and a cordless for the hard floors on the ground floor.

We looked at literally hundreds of different cordless vacs before choosing this one which was picked based on the Hoover Brand, reviews, weight and it was on an Amazon deal of the day at the time which meant combined with the Shark the total cost for two vacs was less than a new Dyson.

This review is after six months of use. Enough time for any issues to arise.

    The Good

This vacuum is small, and light. Very light. It’s around half the weight of the Dyson, about four tins of beans! This makes its manoeuvrability extremely good. You don’t feel like you’ve been to the gym after a couple of rooms that’s for sure!

When in storage mode it just sits in our downstairs loo pretty unobtrusively, really taking up no space at all.

I thought the complete dislocation of the two halves into two separate pieces would be a pain to separate and recconect versus lots of other cordless vacs that have foldover jointed stems. It isn’t, it’s super easy to complete.

Operation is super easy with just one slider button.

The lights on the front of the roller are very handy for seeking out stray bits of non descript cereal and dust on floors.

The quoted number for the running time are pretty accurate at 25 minutes of normal and 8 minutes on turbo mode.

Suction is good. On hard floors. We don’t use it on carpets but do have a couple of rugs downstairs, sometimes it can take a couple of extra passes on the rugs in normal mode so we generally run it on turbo.

On hard floors it gets to everything we roll it over very quickly.

One of the other pleasing features is the noise, or lack of it compared to a rusty old Dyson which tended to scare the dog a lot, this vac is a little more refined and less of an attack on your eardrums when operating!

It’s easy to tear down and clean, it takes me around half an hour to seperate all of the parts, give them a rinse under the tap, wipe down and wipe away any muck and put back together. In comparison the Dyson took over an hour to get muck off of all of the myriad of components and is a lot more fiddly.

    The could be better

From an edge to edge perspective this doesn’t get quite as close to skirting boards as the Dyson did. It’s not a huge difference but it is less closer of a shave!

Whilst there is a pet attachment in the box we purchased which is for pet hair, the main roller really accumulates hair very quickly as per the pictures. Admittedly the roller is easy to remove and clean but it’s something to consider if you have a household where there seems to be more hair on the floor than your head!

If there was one easy to remedy minor grumble with this vac it would be to sell it with a true crevice device which it is not currently supplied with.

Overall these are minor issues, I knew the that any vac we purchased unless spending any awful lot more would likely require regular roller cleaning.

It’s such a light and compact powerhouse at a reasonably competitive price point. The drop off in power on standard versus a Dyson standard is nominal. For hard floors this is a super vacuum and so easy to handle and use.
For carpets I would say pick up two batteries so you can run on turbo at all times.

    Recommended.

    Four Stars.

    Great Produc
I hardly write reviews, but I could not resist writing this review. I have a Dyson Ball, but I wanted something less clunky that I could use more frequently. I bought this Hoover over 5 weeks ago, and I have not touched my Dyson since. This is a great product, the battery life is good, not on the Turbo though, but you really don’t need it. Advice for anyone thinking of getting this, get the one with 2 batteries, you will get better value for your money. My daughter never used to vacuum her room, she is happy to grab this and use it quickly. the storage design is ingenious. I just like the product.

    Good value for money
Lovely and lightweight so I can complete my task quickly. The battery needs charging regularly which is a bit annoying and the waste needs emptying after every use as it’s quite small. I’m struggling with refixing it back in place after emptying too. Otherwise, a nice piece of equipment performance wise.

Excellent product. Got for a 3 bedroom house, the battery lasts for the whole house. Unless you put on turbo then it only lasts about 30 mins. Suction is great.

    Good Hoove
Really easy to use. Goes very flat to get under the sofa and bed. I misread the reviews and thought it had 2 batteries but that is my fault. Good suction. Quiet. Only negative I’ve found is it lacks a narrow attachment so I can’t clean the car where the seats slide forward

    Brilliant vacuum!
I wish I’d bought this years ago. I can’t see any use for my other two vacuum cleaners because this is so much better in so many ways. Just being able to start vacuuming without having to unwind leads and plug in is a huge bonus in itself! The suction’s excellent – the battery still has a charge after cleaning my home (2 large bedrooms, large kitchen mat plus 2 large sitting room rugs). And it cleans right up to the edges. I vacuumed my cellar staircase carpet using the handheld part and it did a lovely job. So convenient. The clips separating the different parts aren’t stiff (one of my vacuums hurts my hands because everything’s so stif). Being older doesn’t help! And, because everything unclips, cleaning the bristles is a breeze. A terrific buy.

light weight and easy to use
Easy to use if you need to use a walking aid such as a stick or crutches as it is light weight and very easy to move around. Good suction, only needs to pass over the carpet or flooring once. Could even be used sat down and just move the chair location. Easy to empty and clean filters. Well able to hoover an average household on one battery charge. Battery is lightweight as well and easy to plug in and out of hoover.. no fiddley bits.

I liked the movement of the vacuum cleaner. And it’s very light and you can pack it away in the cupboard very easily

    Good but...
Absolutely perfect for me as very light… Battery life is shocking thou. I brought mine in Oct 2020 and I need to buy a new battery as my battery doesn’t hold the charger now.

But the hoover itself is great.

Highly effective but battery life too sho
Highly effective lightweight hoover with a nice small head which gets under furniture better than my G-techs. The dust chamber is a bit fiddly to empty and the battery life, as many people mention, is woeful, but it does do an excellent job and is very versatile. Five stars but only just, make sure you get the Energy version for the additional battery.

Really like this Hoover. Compared to others I have bought it has great suction and is easy to empty. As long as you are ok with having to recharge after every 40 minutes then this is perfect for apartments, car cleaning etc

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLightweight and Compact with decent suctio
This product provides a decent suction on hard floors and carpet but I do feel the intensity of the suction is greater on hard floors. There are times when the carpet mode switches on without being selected, I can only think that this is caused by the brush being forced down with the strength of the suction and rotating to then activate the carpet mode.
There is a good range of cleaning accessories, but I would have liked it if the nozzle had an additional attachment that was narrow and made it easier to clean tight corners.
If you intend to do a complete home clean (floors, upholstery, etc), I’d be surprised if the battery on full charge is able to cope with more than 3 small to medium sized rooms (roughly 4x4metres).
The lightweight and compact design is definitely a plus point for this product, there is no struggle to clean the stairs and then store away in the cupboard.
I don’t feel this vacuum would be ideal for anyone that has quite frail hands or arms as the detachment of the bin can be tricky – almost like opening up a tight lid on a jar. Other than that, the vacuum gives a good cleaning performance.

    Can’t recommend this product enough.
Cleans 100 times better than the full sized vacuum it replaced.
    Super light weight and versatile.
Good battery time (go for 2 battery package. Worth the little extra).
Emptying is a little fiddly, and could have come with a long narrow extension but all in all these are minor setbacks.

Oh, and with the built in spot light, I can and have vacuumed in the dark.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLove this hoover!!...far better than a Dyson V7!
I’m not one for writing reviews but this little hoover deserves much more credit than its getting!
I did my research, read reviews and bought a Dyson V7 pet…wow what a let down…it looked beautiful but was heavy, attachments were annoying and most importantly didn’t pick up any larger ‘bits’.
It went straight back after one use and I took a gamble on this.
What a difference!!! Not only was it cheaper than the Dyson, it’s compact, super lightweight, really nice to use. I love how it can be freestanding and some of the attachments are built in so it’s super quick to change to handheld mode.
I have 3 very young kids, 2 cats and a partner who surfs (SAND EVERYWHERE!!!). Playdoh, endless trails of crumbs, pet hair…people hair….this hoover gets rid of the lot, first go, no second sweeps needed.
It won’t completely replace your big vacuum cleaner, mine is a Henry, I love Henry but he’s so heavy!
I needed a vacuum to quickly run round the kitchen and playroom a few times a day and this is perfect for that.
On hard floors it’s battery will do around 20-25 mins. On carpet about 15 min. I don’t have enough time or patience to vacuum for longer than that anyway! This is all in normal mode, I’ve hardly used turbo as it cleans fab without but turbo will drain the battery faster.
You could get the version with two batteries if you want it to run longer but I’ve never run the battery to empty, I put it back on charge after using and it’s ready to go again when I need it…I’ve never waited 6 hours like some people have commented.
The bin is really simple to empty, filters are easy to pull out and clear anything that gets stuck. It’s quite a small bin though, no problem on hard floors, I empty the bin every couple of days on hard floors but on carpet it really picks up fluff so you’ll have to empty after every use.
I’ve got long hair and that gets caught in the roller brush, but I don’t need to clear it that often. It took me literally 2 mins to pop the brush out, cut down the little ridge on the bar, remove hair and pop it back on. I think all roller bars on hoovers get clogged like this and its really easy to clear this one.
Also loved the LED light on the front, the battery and mode indicator lights are fab and unlike the Dyson you don’t have to keep your finger on the button to make it work.
If you’re looking for something to replace your main hoover, this won’t do it and you’re going to have to spend a lot more money. But I think this is fantastic value, a great design and has made my life a lot easier…and crumb free!

So handy – is now the main Hoover for carpets upstairs. Amazing how much dust it sucks up, so much so that it is blocked every time it’s used, makes you wonder what the previous hoover was up to.
Easy enough to empty and clean out, and the removable brush feature means you can easily remove the inevitable hair wrap.
All in all this was a good buy.

    Excellent vacuum cleaner.
This is a great cordless Hoover for every household job we’ve had. The price is fair and makes it good value when compared to the similar quality makes of cordless vacuum cleaner.

From 1 charge it’s good for 1 very thorough clean of our large 2 bed flat, and enough got 2/3 light uses.

It does fill up quickly but the trade off is it’s really light. Charging could easily be done overnight.

The suction doesn’t seem to worsen as it fills at all. The controls are easy to manage and it packs away neatly. The “turbo” mode does improve suction and volume but even on heavily dirtied carpet it hasn’t been actually needed.

The accessories are great but haven’t seen a huge amount of use.
The vacuum is easy to empty and looks smart.

We have had this a couple of months at the time of the review.

Easy to use and versatile. We have 2 indoor cats so easy to run over the hall, landing and stairs every day. Good for the car as well. On boost good suction and the run time isn’t too bad, can do a quick run around whole house. Charge takes a while but that is clearly indicated so no issue.

    Great back-up cleane
This is brilliant vacuum for my needs – I purchased as back-up cleaner in order to use between fuller house cleans and to vacuum the car. It doesn’t have the power of my heavy plug-in Dyson, but I didn’t expect it to – it’s perfect for what I need it for though. It’s also great for the stairs – no more lugging my heavy corded cleaner up and down or balancing it precariously on one of the stairs. An additional plus is that I can whip over the kitchen laminate floor quickly – much better than getting the dustpan and brush out. All in all, a great vacuum: lightweight; easy to manoeuvre under and around furniture; has plenty of tools and is very compact, which makes storage a doddle

Bought this for our downstairs which is all hard floor. It has good suction, is very light and the fact that it stands up on it’s own is a massive plus. I don’t usually write reviews but had to give one here. The ease of swapping over parts is the best yet and I’ve had a Dyson before. It’s really easy to empty and glides along floors and carpets great. The added light at the front is a revelation and lights up the floor in front showing up fluff not seen by the naked eye. I love the way that it stands alone. If you choose this you will not be disappointed.

Better than my Dyson and Miele
So I’ve been using Dyson and Miele for the last 10 or so years. My Miele corded cylinder (once my first vaccum cleaner, then after my Dyson V6 animal my second vaccum cleaner) has been consigned to the skip in the sky. Believing Hoover to be a dead brand, I never considered to buy a replacement from Hoover, that’s what my mum had in the 80’s after all. Well, having reviewed the market for a replacement cordless vacuum cleaner i was surprised. Here was a Hoover that was tested (according to good housekeeping) only one point behind a Dyson v11, and for that matter significantly cheaper. I mean a third of the price cheaper. Or to put it another way I could buy 3 Hoover’s for the price of a Dyson. Ok I said it was worth a shot, if it doesn’t work out I can always buy a Dyson.
I can tell you that the Hoover is better than the Dyson V6 animal! And almost as good as the Miele used to be. The suction is excellent for a handheld. The weight is good. The battery life in the Hoover is excellent for a handheld and the fact you can “click it” into place to stand up by itself when you need to pick something up from the floor is excellent. It is amazing how much dirt it picks up on standard suction let alone turbo. It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver. An excellent buy and an excellent vacuum cleaner!
Who would have thought a Hoover could be so good!
