    Clever desig
Wanted both a waste bin and a recycling bin but have a compact kitchen. This does the job splendidly, and looks good too, matches the colour of our kitchen units. May have gone for the larger bin in retrospect but then it has been Christmas and we have had all the family staying with us!

    Love the idea but flawed
I loved this bin. I love the 2 compartments. I love the design and for a year I was very pleased with this purchase.
However at just over a year the lid broke and due to purchasing on Amazon I only received 1 year warranty and couldn’t purchase a replacement lid with this bin.
Very expensive to have only lasted a year.
    Wouldn’t repurchase.

    Looks and works grea
This is a sturdy recycling bin with a great design that will fit into your kitchen without demanding too much attention. The bottom unit could probably do with some runners, rather than just free-wheeling, but I imagine that would make the whole thing much more bulky. The inserts are attractive, sturdy and easily cleaned. The waste food caddy is ok – I would have preferred it to have an attached lid personally. It is nice that you get a few bags included – this means that you don’t have to buy them before realising that you don’t really need them. I only use the biodegradable ones in the caddy – my cardboard and plastics are roaming free in the spacious units. No bags needed, thank you very much. The soft open lid function appears to be well made and has so far stood up to my 10-year-old’s attempts to break it. Overall – great quality, looks super, and does its job without fuss.

Who knew a kitchen bin could be so exciting?
I had researched recycle bins quite extensively following the completion of my new kitchen. I knew I didn’t want piles of recycling hanging around but didn’t have tons of spare space and I really wanted a matte white bin. This ticked all the boxes … except it was 200 which I thought (and still think) is a ludicrous sum of money for a box that holds rubbish. It sat in my “Save for Later” section until the Black Friday sales arrived and it popped up at 125. Still a ridiculous amount of money, but a big enough saving for me to decide to go for it. It arrived the next day in a massive box but once lifted out and packaging removed it sits beautifully in my kitchen without being obtrusive or taking up a lot of space. The top part holds plenty of waste for 3 adults. Not least because I recycle far more of my plastics and cardboard that I used to thanks to the slide out bottom section (I pop a bin bag in one half for bottles/plastics and leave the other half empty for cardboard). I’m not currently using the triangular food recycling part as I don’t have a compost bin yet (Spring project) and our council doesn’t collect food waste separately. I don’t use the Joseph Joseph bin liners as they are also ludicrously expensive, but my trusty old 50l Tesco drawstring bags fit just fine (although a little longer than needed) and don’t show at all. I just use any old bag for the bottom.

It’s a little sad to say I’m thrilled with my new bin, but I am! I’ve had positive comments on how nice it is, so it’s clearly not just me! I still don’t think I’d feel happy paying full price for it and the amount I paid is pretty much the very top of what I’d be prepared to fork out, but it’s a well designed, well made, practical and attractive bin so I’m happy.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure on spending that amount of money in a bin, but the storage is huge and you have an ALL IN ONE bin, finally I feel I can recycle properly.

    Excellent product, excellent Customer Service
I love my Joseph Joseph 30063 Totem Compact 40 Litre Waste Separation and Recycling Bin. I have very little space in my kitchen & this was the perfect solution to all my re-cycling cluttering my worksurfaces with frequents trips to the outside bins now no longer required. Excellent product & excellent Customer Service from Holly when I accidently ‘re-cycled’ my food caddy lid & needed a replacement. I have other Joseph Joseph cookware products, all of which I have had for years as they are well made & easy to clean.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersYou haven't had a bin until you've had a Joseph Joseph Bi
My wife thought I was insane to be drooling over the stacked, shiny neatness of this bin, but we had a serious discussion about it and I said, “Look, it’s shiny – and inside, it’s orange!” To which she replied, in an almost caressing whisper, “Whatever you want, darling.”

Since then, this bin has brought us nothing but delight. It sits there and looks nice, and it doesn’t smell. The little 5L corner-thing for the organic/compostable waste is just so… thoughtful, I wish I could hug Messrs. Joseph and Joseph: it even has a little hole in the hook that clips it to the big, square, main bin through which the excess liner can be pulled.

And every other inner bin corner is missing – thoughtfully cut off so that you can lift it out with zero frustration.

How often we have sat around in the evenings, wondering what life would have been like without it; no doubt, foetid and untidy.

Yes, we could have bought a couple of sheep for the same money, but this bin is worth its weight.

    Highly recommended.

I wanted a bin that I could separate out our recycling from rubbish and food waste but would also look stylish and neat in our kitchen. This is that bin. It’s beautiful and not too big. I love the drawer on wheels underneath and I can pull it out and take the recycling outside easily. The food waste container hooks onto the side of the top bin and you can take it out and have it on the worktop for convenience when you are chopping vegetables. And the rubbish bin part is 1 touch to open. You can use the manufacturers bin bags but I use the usual ones from the supermarket. There are no edges of bin bags spilling over spoiling this look and it looks perfect in my kitchen. It’s very expensive, but I hope it’ll last me years and years.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHow much for a bin???
I spent ages debating getting this bin. Over 150 is crazy but here we are!
Quality seems to be there . I went for the graphite, which is darker than it looks.

The bin is 2x 30L. I’ve been using two large kitchen bins, so coming from them this bin looks quite small.
Reason I went for this new bin is I’ve moved and don’t have the room for 2x 60L bins.

There seems to be lots of reviews about the lid breaking, so only time will tell.
I managed to use one of the bin bags I had laying about, so I think I will get some more as the Joseph ones are almost 9!

    150 for a bin!!!!!

Update after using it for 2 weeks:
I can use any bag I like. I have council green bags and Asda black bags. They are bigger but just folder over the edges. No need to pay for the custom fit ones.

I am emptying the bins more as they are smaller than the 60L one’s I had before, but I am very happy with the purchase .
I’m also using the included food caddy which I did not think I would.

    It's Joseph Joseph! Excellent.
I looked at various options before choosing this bin as it is in the higher price bracket. Have purchased many JJ items and have found them to be of better quality and functionality than other makes of kitchen items. This bin is no exception. It looks good and holds all items as required. I particularly like that it has removeable compartments so is easy to clean. It is pricey hence 4 stars for that aspect but I have seen others for comparison and in the end it was worth the extra.

    Space saving for small kitchen.
This was a considered purchase for me but so happy with it. It has given me more space in my small kitchen and particularly pleased with the food waste container inside and the charcoal filter to keep the bin smelling fresh. It does not have a lot of room for waste and does need emptying more often. It is a very sturdy bin and recommend it.

It’s a bit pricey for a bin, I know. But honestly it’s worth it. I feel as though sorting the rubbish isn’t as much as a hassle. It’s got a large open lid so you don’t really get the bin as dirty. The food compost bin is really great and prevents smells. I use the bottom compartment for glass plastic and tins and as long as you rinse them out it doesn’t smell.

Sad but true, I love this bin!
As a single person I’ve found most bins are just too big and they start to smell long before they need emptying. The 40L version of this bin however is the perfect size for me. The little food caddy gets emptied every 2 to 3 days and the waste & recycling sections can last a week or more.

The only small downside is the rather expensive liners, but if you’re not overly fussed at having a perfect fit, then I’ve found cheap swing bin and caddy liners from Home Bargains work just fine.

Great product living in a block of flats this has made separating and taking down recycling and waste so much easier.

I love this bin, large top opening for easy access, the one underneath just glides in and out which I use for recycling, the removable inner containers are really handy for transporting to the bin and so far I’ve used to same bag for the recycling part. It’s great that it’s one on top of the other so it doesn’t take up lots of space, never thought I’d spend this much on a bin but it’s so worth it and I got my graphite one on offer so even better.

I want to love this bin. Really I do. It looks lovely and is neat and compact and I love the food compartment but for the price it’s a bit unsteady and rattly. I didn’t pay full price but even at that when a rubbish bin costs over 100 you expect a bit of substance. Aesthetically I can’t fault it though and the compartments are roomy and well made. Just the whole bin is a bit cheap feeling when you open the lid!

If you need to put a bin out in the open then it ideally should look good – and this one does. A neat design means it’s not taking up loads of space but it holds a reasonable amount. Exoensive, but worth every penny
Sturdy totem bin, I was hesitant from moving from a single 60lt bin to this one with smaller compartments, but my doubts were unfounded.
Capacity wise works perfectly for two people, we use the bottom compartment for recycling items (though we keep the bigger boxes separately).
I don’t have much use for the food waste bin inside the main compartment (it is too small for us), so I use it for other things.
Looks very modern and is easy to manipulate.
Regarding the bin liners, I use 50lt biodegradable ones I order from Amazon regularly, which work fine for me.

A bit of a pricey item, but it is very well designed and fits perfectly the space I had, so very happy with it.

Definitely a very functional bin and controls odour very well. Capacity is pretty good too, definitely encourages to recycle more.

Price-wise I do think it’s still quite expensive for a bin, but managed to get mine during Christmas offers for under 85.

If price isn’t a big deal, but you’re looking for a modern, functional and most importantly odour controlling bin, then definitely go for this. You seriously cannot smell once the lid is closed. Really impressive

Compact bin - ideal for small households.
This bin is ideal for a household of 2 people. We use it for general rubbish at the top and food waste at the bottom. It means that we don’t need a separate food caddy. Each bin has an insert which can be removed for cleaning and changing the bag. We don’t really use the small food waste insert, but this would be useful if the bottom section was used for general recycling.

Ok so this review is based on the fact we bought this in the Boxing Day sales for 119, which we (mainly myself as my GF thinks it was 100) can live with. It’s pretty nice looking and cleans easily, the height is something you get used to pretty quickly and isn’t an issue. The recycling part is a lot better and tidier than our old recycling bin which was our kitchen table, it also makes you wash things out and squash them more as a habit which means no more jumping up and down in the wheelie bin come collection day. The top half is very easy to use with the opening leaver and the air holes in the top compartment means the bag pulls out easy when full. We moved the food waste caddy to the recycling compartment to maximise full usage of the bags in the top as they aren’t the cheapest to keep buying (amazon definitely the cheapest place to find the proper JJ ones). My Gf is obsessed with mopping our floor and she finds it easier to move the lower compartment first and then the top becomes easier to move than as a whole unit.
Overall we are very happy with the waste & recycling unit and would buy/recommend getting one in the sales

I won’t tell hubby how much it was as don’t want to upset him but for a item you use every day it’s worth it ….. if your still unsure wait till sales or Black Friday to grab a bargain ( ps the clear recycle bags from Lidil fit the compartment) Enjoy 🙂

Well made and looks good. Has a fingerprint resistant finish which is easy to keep shiny. Easy to organise your food waste/general waste/recycling. The JJ bags fit perfectly and don’t leak at all – I’ve been using the same bag in the lower recycling section for about 3 weeks.
Only 4 stars due to one slight design flaw – the food waste container sits inside the upper general waste bucket, which leads you to want to empty that bucket when it’s only half full. Would be better to shape the upper bucket so that the food waste container sits outside of it. Thought about putting general waste in the bottom bucket but that isn’t protected by the odour filter.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersFix the lid and reduce price
Joseph Joseph have put a lot of thought into this, improved on original by losing the bulky lid/cover and making the overall bin more compact and yes good looking! We bought the stainless steel version at a discount and very happy with the surface quality, it’s easy to clean and doesn’t smear much. The original had a divider for lower recycling compartment, this one doesn’t – don’t know why they took away that option.

But there is an ISSUE with LID which a lot of people have talked about, it tends to stick closed after cleaning, some kind of vacuum between edges of lid and edges of top bin. My solution was to oil with WD40 or similar, after this no problems, so try this before going to the trouble of returning your bin.

The other design issue is the opposite – I think the lid will refuse to stay to closes after a few years of wear because the lid-release tolerances are so thin, 1 or 2mm of plastic wear will make the mechanism fail. No such problem with original, but overall this version is more convenient, more compact, and quicker to install bin bags neatly.

    Best bin eve
You might think it’s quite hard to get excited about a bin…well you’ve obviously not got a Joseph Joseph totem!
This is quite simply the best bin ever.
I had a bin that had two compartments side by side, to allow me to separate recycling and normal waste, as well as a separate food waste bin.
Buying the totem has allowed me to replace these bins, while increasing my waste capacity and using less floor space.
There is masses of space in these bins, but due to the vertical nature of them they don’t take up much room.
The food waste caddy is a bit on the small side, however I actually quite like this, as it encourages me to empty it more frequently and avoid having a smelly bag of rotten food in the bin for days.
The bins are really easy to take out to empty or to clean.
Everything about the bin feels quality and it comes with a 10 year warranty.
The price of this item is high, I managed to get it on a prime week deal for about 105. However you can pay 150 or more for these.
I would normally potentially mark an item down in a review for a high price point and while I do feel 150 is a lot of money for a bin this bin is the best. And sometime you get what you pay for, so if you can afford it, or can get a decent deal then buy it and then you can feel excited about bins!

Surprising how much good a bin makes a difference
Let’s begin with the price… at first sight this is a ridiculous price for a bin, having had it a few weeks now I’d pay it twice over.

This is an incredibly well designed and manufactured item. Every aspect is spot on, easy to use, sturdy and looks the part.

The main ‘tubs’ can use either one big bag or two smaller to divide them up, appropriate anchor slots are provided. Within the top tub is a decent size food waste bin that has an opening that is the width of a typical plate – really useful.

This brand always nails the tiny details that matter and in this case, the tubs are shaped to allow easy lift out removal, there is no obstructions in the path of the tubs and bags you may remove – none of those stupid metal handles to rip your bags

Never did I think a bin would bring me such pleasure!

Excellent bin and good size. I use the top section as a general rubbish bin. I went from one tall 30L bin to this and I think this takes more rubbish. I use the bottom section to store my dogs dried food bags and treats. This work very well for me as I have a small kitchen everything is out of the way. The lower section wheels out easily so gives full acces.

    Keeps smells i
I bought this specifically as I had trouble with the smells from my last bin and cat waste disposal. As a person living alone it was small enough so I can empty it regularly without wasting huge bin bags but it also kept the smells in. The recycling compartment is useful and I can avoid having 2 bins which is great in a small flat. As my council doesn’t do composting I removed the mini container and use it for storing cleaning sponges 🙂

    Expensive but a great buy
We really needed something to tidy the recycling area in the kitchen. This looks great and has good capacity. I like the bottom section which has wheels and slides out. The lift out baskets are useful. Overall it is such a help and has transformed that part of the kitchen. It is expensive for a bin, but I am so glad I bought it. (I bought it in Amazon sale so was 114.)

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMostly good with some minor drawbacks
    Pros:

    * Combining two bins into one saves precious floorspace in my small kitchen
    * The odour filter seems to help reduce smells and vent the bin to prevent humidity buildup
    * The removable inserts are handy. They come out easily and they’re pretty strong
    * The bins are a good size & shape for most household waste – meaning you can fit more in. e.g. A4 sheets will lay flat in the recycling bin
    * A full bin bag fits snuggly in my wheelie bin. I can fit more rubbish in there than with my old peddle bin

    Cons:

    * Having the food waste slot inside the main bin is a bad idea. When you take it out, the rubbish around it shifts and then you need to paw around inside the bin to put it back. As the caddy is quite deep, the bin doesn’t even need to be half full before this becomes a problem. JJ’s suggestion that you can just take it out and plonk it on your worktop (presumably coated in all kinds of bin juice if you keep it in the top compartment) and then gently nestle it back inside plainly doesn’t really match with reality.
    * The Joseph Joseph bin liners are currently approx 20x the price of the equivalent generic bin liners. Crazy. Either fork over the money, or deal with slightly ill-fitting bags. I opted for the latter

    Overall:

The pros comfortably outweigh the cons, just a shame the food waste part of the bin isn’t as well thought out as the rest.

    Looks Great, feels quality
Time will tell how the bin performs and it seems like a lot of money to drop on a bin but we had specific requirements that this bin fulfilled in terms of size and looks.
It looks great, the bottom portion glides out on its wheels and it just feels like good quality overall.
We went for stainless steel, although know how easy it is to dent and catch your eye forever more but its what we needed to match the kitchen, but there are other colour options available.
The bin bags are a certain size and shape and although you get a few thrown in for free, these are way too expensive to use as regular bin bags going forward and we actually found alternatives for MUCH cheaper.
So far so good – would definitely recommend.

Was a bit dubious about buying this bin against a Morphy Richards sensor bin. I felt both were expensive considering you’re just putting rubbish in them. Changing because I wanted to replace the 2 bins I was currently using for waste separation with a single unit. Reviews on the the battery and lid opening capacity on the Morphy Richards sensor bin led me to pay a little more for the Joseph Joseph totem 60ltr and I love it (so far). Composter gets in the way of the upper bin capacity but I’ve removed this and just keep it in a kitchen unit under the sink. Lower unit pulls in and out smoothly and seems like capacity is good … I’m a single person so don’t have a lot of household waste but it looks good and hopefully, price will reflect quality and life span.

Great bin that does what it’s suppose to do. Been looking for something like this for some time & I’m delighted with my purchase!!! The only negative thing that I can say about this product is that the outside finish on the plastic container is strange but does not detract from the functionality & effectiveness of the bin!!! You only notice it when washing it!! The inside finish is very smooth. Would recomend it without reservation!!!

    Great buy
Have wanted this bin for a while but was put off by the price tag – so happy it came up in a Lightning Deal. Due to the layout of our kitchen the bin can’t be hidden so I needed something that looks good but also holds a lot of rubbish.

The bin looks really good. The included bin bags were a nice touch. I find the bin holds a lot too.

The only niggle is that the bottom part on wheels comes out easily but sometimes sticks as it goes back in. Whether this is just because it is new and will loosen slightly over time I don’t know.

    ————-

After two months use, the handle used to open the bin started sticking. I have since been sent a replacement bin – the opening is completely different to my previous bin so may be the issue has been rectified.

Great size and no more smelly bin!
Quick and easy Amazon delivery. I went for the Graphite Totum Max 60 L.The box is heavy but can be moved by one person. Inside the box, you get the carbon filter, two bin bags and two caddy bags which you can compare with other non branded bags for size. The food caddy can be placed anywhere in the bin or on countertop.

I like the push opening and that there is no sensor or batteries to worry about. The bottom ‘recycling bin’ is a blessing as there is no need for a separate recycling bin. The main part is on wheels which moves in and out easily and the orange insert can be taken to the wheelie bin.

Overall a great bin, worth the money. Does the job well so hopefully this will be my last bin.

Love this waste solution. All in one place. Plenty of room for all the different types of waste. Easy to keep clean. We got the stone colour and it is fine – just looks neutral. Watch the video to see what it is like.
I made the mistake of not checking dimensions properly. It is more than 30cm. The hinge and button for releasing the lid add another few cm.
There is no smell thanks to the filter (it lasts well).
The custom made bags are dear but you can just sue your own. There are hooks for different sized bags.

I do like this bin, however the storage capacity isn’t great. I literally find myself emptying the bottom half of the bin 2-3 time a week and have also ditched the food section as it stopped me being able to put more waste in the bin. I guess this is just the norm with dual capacity bins

Pricey but well worth it. Well made, easy to clean, looks great and quick delivery. I went for the 40 litre that comprises of 2 x 20 litre bins and a small food bin. Perfect size for my household for a family of 3. I use the top bin for general waste and bottom for recycling. I don’t like bins that have a large capacity as I find the bin begins to smell before I fill it and therefore needs taking out. With this bin it’s the perfect size and yes I’m taking the rubbish out more but that means there are no smells lingering in my kitchen. Also worth noting there is an odour filter built into the lid which is a nice touch. Wish I had purchased this years ago instead of wasting money on other cheaper bins.

Ridiculous price for a bin lol but I do like it. It looks lovely in my kitchen. I heard bad things about comparable sensor bins so I went for this one which easily flicks open using the lever for general waste compartment at the top. I put two carrier bags in the lower pull out compartment so I can separate plastics and paper which means it does not hold alot in each so I have to empty regularly which isn’t too big a deal. Vast improvement on having piles of recycling on my worktop

works perfectly for me however I’m a household of one may be a bit small for a family. Food caddy works well however could be a bit bigger but then you sacrifice more space in the bin but like that the lid rests on the edge of the bin so you don’t have to put it on the work surface. Perfect solution.
Our new house has a small kitchen with no spare floor area & all cupboards are utilised. Only solution was to find a bin to stand just outside the open kitchen, but looking a part of the furnishings. Normally all bins are stainless steel or white, but furnishings have a grey overtone & this bin was perfect. It blends in with colour, fits just right into a corner & most importantly, doesn’t stand out! Very functional with 2 separate compartments that are one above the other (so a small “footprint”), also very easy to keep clean. Does not look out of place!

Larger than the dimensions given, food recycling is limited, but unifies our recycling nicely
2 bed maisonette here, separate kitchen with small seating space (cafe table size).

The unit itself comes in a huge box, wrapped in plastic, the bin inside padded with the worst kind of styrofoam, but they have to prevent carelessness when shipping I guess.
The top bin is meant for landfill and food recycling. It comes with a few ‘starter’ bags that fit perfectly – too perfectly if you ask me. There’s almost no extra length for the full-size bag, meaning if the bin is full, the bag will not close short of compressing it. So we use 50L drawstring bags from Asda or wherever else and they fit perfectly.

The recycling compartment (bottom), has slits in-situ so that you can use standard-size plastic carrier bags, which we do, to separate plastic/bottles/tins from paper/cardboard. This works nicely, and the whole orange units can be lifted out without any vacuum effect occurring. This is on wheels and doesn’t clip in to place, or anything like that, you literally just push it back in and it stays there. It stays perfectly in place, doesn’t roll or anything, though sometimes you may need to give it a tap to line everything up (if you’re OCD about appearances).

There are two downsides so far as we can tell, after a solid month of use:

    1) The food recycling just isn’t large enough. Compared to the council-provided bin, it’s just too small for us (couple and young baby). Plus, as it sits inside the top compartment, it will mingle too closely with landfill that may be stinky or nasty (eg. nappies), for my liking, needing washing up frequently. If you use the bottom bin, then there’s far less space for recycling…
    2) The rear literally looked like it was flush – in all the photos and marketing shots on their website, there was never a clear picture showing that the rear part sticked out. So it won’t sit flush against the wall, but this is minor.

Then of course the PRICE. My arse hurts, even at 125 that I paid, I’m still a bit sore.
It sadly hasn’t completely unified the recycling, but I still argue with my Mrs to use the included food unit. She cooks more though, so she’s the boss on that one.

Overall though, this is larger than I expected – even having measured it up – but it’s removed the need for bags and boxes and reduced the frequency with which we need to go downstairs to the communal bins and empty. So all in all, very happy with this and highly recommended [if you can get it at a good price].

    Makes recycling so much easie
We purchased this kitchen bin as our recycling was often left on the worktop ready to go in the outside bin, but now we have this bin, our recycling goes straight in the bin and out of sight. The orange inserts hold much more than you’d think, and they’re so easy to pull out and empty. It’s quite pricey for a bin but well worth it if you’re a keen recycler.

found the bin a bit bigger than expected , but it suits my needs being able to do recycling all in one place , A tip for all who have bought or thinking of buying . I would not replace the filter in the bin lid with the ones from the manufacturer , they are far too expensive . I bought a charcoal cut to size cooker hood filter and have managed to get 34 filters out of hood filter , also b&m do small food waste bags that fit the internal compost bin . and the other bins i will use black bin liners and i have made two elastic straps to keep them in place . the charge for manufacturers bags and filters is ridiculous .

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersDoes exactly what I need (recycling) - but a little costly
I don’t really write reviews, but due to the price (for a bin) I thought I should.
I bought this purely for recycling as I have to split the waste into 3 different collection bins – so rather than having paper and plastic ect on the table until i get chance to put it outside, it now goes straight into the Joseph recycle bin until it’s full – then take it out once a week. So this is perfect 🙂
However, I agree with some of the other comments. If you’re using it for general waste im not sure if it’s suitable, as the compartments are wide but fairly are shallow (for an everyday waste bin) and im sure if will fill up fast.

We bought this bin to replace the 3 seperate recycling bins that were making our kitchen untidy. It is larger than most kitchen bins but so convenient. The food recycling part is rather small, but very easy to lift out and empty. Each of the three sections all have plastic lift out liners. Very easy to clean. The bottom section pulls out on wheels which run very smoothly. The top lid has a replacable filter to stop smells. All in all very pleased with it.

I was overwhelmed by the size of this bin when it arrived, but assumed most of it would be packaging. I was wrong! The bin is generously sized and quite stable and solid. It comes pre-built, so no building or fiddling around with fittings. The stone colour is more of a cream in colour, and whilst it is very smart, I worry that it may look like it was meant to be white. Colour, in the end is down to preference and kitchen design so each to their own.

I was impressed with the compartment sizes — they are suitable for a weeks waste for me and my partner. There is a nice neat area for the compostable waste too, which can be moved around to suit your preference. The drawers are smooth, fluid and easy to pull out, however, the handle on the bottom compartment is hindered by the inner orange bin, this could be trickier to maneuver and manage for those with larger fingers.

The height of the bin is suitable which prevents having to bend over all of the time. I prefer to have the recycling waste in the bottom drawer as it was easier for me to navigate and remove; with the general waste and compost in the top section, we were able to make more use of the filter in the lid — which kept the whole thing very fresh.

Included with the bin are a pack of trial bags and a filter to use, which is great to get you started. Whilst “normal” bin bags will suffice, they do not fit quite as well (surprise surprise) as the ones designed for them. The bin has marking inside should you forget which types of bags you will require; the suitable bags and filters are as follows:
    * IW6 30-Litre General Waste Liners – Pack of 20 (Amazon product-code: B07PT7VL7Y).
    * IW2 4-Litre Compostable Bags – Pack of 40 (Amazon product-code: B00UYAN0DA).
    * Carbon Filter – Pack of 2 (Amazon product-code: B00UYAMYT6).
Depending how quickly you go through bags, the cost to maintain using this bin with genuine parts, could get quite costly.

All in all, it’s a great bin, as great as a bin can be — and if you’re looking to treat yourself to a stylish, good use of space bin — I would say it’s worth the money in the long run.

    * IW6 30-Litre General Waste Liners – Pack of 20 (Amazon product-code: B07PT7VL7Y).
    * IW2 4-Litre Compostable Bags – Pack of 40 (Amazon product-code: B00UYAN0DA).
    * Carbon Filter – Pack of 2 (Amazon product-code: B00UYAMYT6).
