I’d been looking for a vacuum cleaner to help me keep my workshop a little less dust clogged and this has been great.

Have also used it to vacuum clean a car which worked well.

The only thing I wish it came with were better hose attachments for brushing up dust.

  2. Nolie says:

Only used it for cleaning up wood dust and connected to power tools. But had to buy a separate hose pipe adapter to attach to power tools.

A brilliant vacuum for the price. Great auction and ideal for the job I needed it for. Highly recommend.

Bought in the sale. Wouldn’t want to pay full price. I use it on my artificial grass. Similar to a Henry hoover. However it does tip over a lot. It’s powerfull and easy to clean out. Not perfect but cheap enough and does the job

Apart having to be careful when pulling it along if you don’t upwardly pull it along it falls over .But apart from that very good great suction works well.

The vacuum is great, certainly can’t go wrong for the price, but the electrical cord is ridiculously short! If you live in a very small house you’d still need the help of an extension cord! Kind of lets the product down somewhat because in every other way it’s a good product and great value. Karcher, don’t be so mean with the cord, it’s an unnecessary corner cutting strategy that is a big negative with customers!

I bought it because I wanted a vac that wasn’t messy to use like my leaf blower/vac. For 58 it’s amazing value. Very solidly built as you might expect from the manufacturer’s name.

Pretty basic piece of kit , but just what I needed , since I dont use it very often. The only gripe I have is you have to buy additional tools as an extra because other vacuum tools dont fit.

  12. Anonymous says:

It does an excellent job, however you do have to empty it quite often as it compacity is not large.
In the box is also various attachments for the pipe.

Great little vacuum for small jobs around the home. My only gripe is that it topples over quite easily. Despite that it has good suction power, I bought it for cleaning the car and it didn’t disappoint!

Bought this to tidy up our artificial lawn, pick up dead leaves, windswept debris etc. Sadly, it is not very stable and topples over quite easily. The leaflet mentions being able to ‘blow’ too, but could not find any instructions for this. We used in on a dry day, debris and leaves were dry but it clogged up and with hindsight, think we would have done just as well with our old Dyson.

Very impressed by power of this vac for it’s compact size. I’ve not used it for any wet applications, but for general dry cleaning it works a treat. The filter bags hold a lot of refuse and are easy to install and remove once you have done it once. The supplied tools and optional accessory tools fit well on to the provided locations and can be easily carried with the unit. Overall this a great product.

I bought this Karcher to replace a truly dreadful and utterly dangerous Chinese manufactured vacuum that quite literally exploded.
Now, with this Karcher WD 2, I have a vacuum that feels so very well built and performs far better than I could have possibly have wished for.

One thing does confuse me slightly and that is, do I fit the bag or don’t I as the instructions are not at all clear and if I do use the bag provided, it is so very small and far smaller than suggested capacity of the vacuum.

But overall very well pleased and the suction power is very high indeed.

Bought to vacuum stray pet bedding up in ferret shed. Works perfectly for intended job and picks up water when scrubbing hutches too which is a huge help.

Great suction. Not loud enough to upset ferrets when in run on yard or to upset dogs as previous ancient one did.

Has handy tool storage and doesn’t take up much space in a rather small shed.

Long enough power cable to reach to other shed where power supply is and hang over door so dogs don’t catch it.

Long enough hose so it will reach all areas that I need to get to and easy to fit bags for dusty jobs or empty.

Light weight enough so that even someone with limited mobility and strength like me can manage it.

I bought this to vacuum the water out of the interior of my old car as the door was damaged and it leaked when it rained. It did this with ease. It’s very lightweight and the filter is easy to clean and dry after use (on wet surfaces) I haven’t used it for normal vacuum cleaning as I have a Henry for that. It is lightweight and has easy storage for the various tools on the body of the vacuum itself. Very pleased as I also had a 30 discount to use so it was very good value.

We get leaves and stones etc blow under the garage door and into the garage.. brought this to tidy up.. was brillant, suction good and easier than sweeping. Once or twice the vacuum fell over when I went to pull it a bit closer and had to turn it on and back off and a few times some bigger bits did clog the pipe so had to poke down with a screwdriver to unblock. Main was to clear Ash from log fire and clean car which I can see will work fine. Did also buy to use on the slabs at back garden as we seem to get a lot of moss fall from roof onto them and though this will be brillant to once a month to go out and run over the slabs but some of the bits are bigger than the hose end so do tend to clog often. Other than that I’m happy with it and at least saves the indoor shark hoover from the task of the car clean now.

This is a great vacuum. I’d fully valeted mine and the wife’s car. It has a very strong suction and combined with a screw driver brush attachment and a foaming carpet shampoo, the seats and mats come up brand new!

I tested the wet suck with a fair bit of water but it filled very quickly and it didn’t seem to like it. Haven’t bothered since but so far haven’t really needed to!

Bought this to use whilst decorating as my previous workshop vacuum, from a different manufacturer, had to be returned under warranty. For the price this vacuum has a very powerful suction. It is lightweight and pulls along very easily. My one criticism, hence four stars, is the attaching clamps on the sides. They feel quite fragile and as there does not appear to be a positive location it can take a few attempts to reattach the top to the base. Also when you put the accessories on the positions created on the base makes it difficult to wrap the suction tube around the body. Overall, despite these minor niggles, I am very pleased with the purchase.

I have no idea why ‘Steel’ appears in the title line for this product as it is entirely plastic, obviously with the exception of the motor.

Purchased from Amazon Warehouse to remove water from footwell of my car, quite sodden carpet after recent bad weather used it as soon as it arrived really surprised how much water it removed as it didn’t seem to be sucking up much but low and behold half a pint of water removed from car and couple of hours later the carpet was surprisingly dry, will probably tend to use it to clean car interior and patio area I don’t think it will compare to a Henry or Dyson for interior use…I may be wrong?

I ordered this as my vacuum stopped working. It does come with a filter and 1 dust bag which wasnt clear in the description. I’d say great for builders, not so great for housework. It’s lightweight but upended 4 times during my house clean. The power cable isn’t very long and no small brush accessory is included, just the main head and a nozzle. The tubes feel flimsy when using 2 together. It’s a bit noisy. However it cleaned brilliantly and for the price is a great product. I’ll gift it to my husband for his garage when my vacuum is repaired!! 🙂

Cracking little hoover for picking up all the big bits and the dirty jobs you don’t want to use your house hoover for!! Wheels are a bit naff, it falls over a lot and doesn’t seem to like it. I had to keep turnimg it off reseting it, and off we’d go again.

It is a lightweight hoover for all manner of rubbish. I have used it in the garden, particularly for keeping my artificial grass free from conifer droppings, and cleaning up after chopping wood in my garage, and valeting the cars. A brilliant piece of kit for not a lot of money. Great suction, tends to fall over if you are not careful when pulling it along, however once you are used to that it is not a problem. Highly recommended like most Karcher products.

Bought this for cleaning up DIY jobs in the garage. Used to use a Dyson but the suction was not powerful enough and was always blocking up and cleaning the filters afterwards was not easy. Now with this Karcher it is easy to use, powerful suction and just throw away bags when full. It’s great to clean dogs hairs out of the car which get stuck and impossible to suck up with lesser cleaners. Have read some complaints that it tips over when pulled along which is true but doesn’t put me off rating this highly. I’m just a bit more careful pulling it along. Great powerful cleaner and a good price.

Great for general household, garden, garage and car. I got it 30% of the price (42 listed on Amazon 58) due to minor cosmetic defects but worked beautifully. Thanks Amazon!
Caution: Remember to clean the tubes with water after use in the garden soil to prevent tubes clogging up! I used it to collect debris and small stones from loose pointing on patio. True time and back saver!! Worth every penny. Beware if wet pointing is sucked it may clog up the tubes and may become solid so use for dry pointing debris only.
Good suction and light weight. May topple if pulled or dragged suddenly so try to move it nearer the work area using castors rather than pulling on the cord suddenly. If topples it will switch off due to safety mechanism as complained by a viewer earlier. You can add some compact weight inside the container to provide extra stability.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this as builders vac when we built an extension to the house. 4 years later, after being used for further renovation works around the house, it is still working after sucking up pretty much everything it is asked to, wood dust, brick dust, general dirt from a home extension build.
The bags from 3rd party are cheap and i normally reuse them 3 or 4 times before they become torn. the brown drum shapped filter needs tapping out and a dust from time to time and thats it.
Like all hoses things do get caught in them from time to time but a quick poke with a stick sorts it out, theres nothing fancy here it not a cyclone but it suction is very strong and has remained so not sure about power consuption but i need a stong vac that can take a beating… tick box

Immense suction. Bought this for the cars and I have to hold the mats down when doing the foot wells now. Previously used the household Dyson upright and that was pants in comparison. This does the job in a fraction of the time. I bought a few cheap non-Karcher attachments to add on for the jobs. The only negative really is that it’s a bit top heavy and, on my gravel driveway, will topple over sometimes. Theres an automatic shut off for when it does which requires you to power off and on again.
Not tried it on wet yet but will do a wash on the carpets soon and use the Vacuum to draw most of the water out when I do. I’d ignore the neigh sayers, they’ve probably done something wrong.

Trust Karcher to come up with an absolute gem such as this. More powerful suction than the vacuums made right now, lightweight and very easy to use. I just found out that I can take the brushes off the flat suction head, so that is a bonus when picked up clumps of dog hairs from the floors. So glad I bought this and would recommend it to anyone.

I was not absolutely sure it would do the job but at the price point it was worth taking a punt. I was not disappointed and it managed the job admirably. The extended pipe meant I could easily reach down to the bottom of the deep drain at the back of my house and there was no suction issues collecting all the small stones. A couple of the larger stones did get stuck but I was able to unblock them quickly. Used this together with the Krcher 7.5 m Pipe and Drain Cleaning Kit, a Karcher pressure washer and a couple of drain rods and the job was done.

Easily pulls everything up from the carpet — even long hair (two female roommates). Our carpets look cleaner than the day we moved in, and they feel clean too. The wheels glide easily over wood and carpet, and the simple design allows for easy cleaning and little to go wrong. Looks a little industrial but I think it’s cute and more than does the job. Would recommend.

A great vac, seems to cope well with everything I’ve thrown at it so far, I like its simplicity over more trendy vacs such as Dyson etc, the stuff I’ve used this for would block a normal vac in no time flat.
I haven’t tried the wet function yet so can’t comment on that.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI originally purchased this to vacuum my car carpet after washing it etc.

Do NOT buy this to vacuum your home. You will be disappointed.

It doesn’t hold a lot of water so I would not recommend it for industrial use.

It is good for sucking up spills, if you steam clean kitchen/bathroom floors use this after to suck up excess water.

I have used it to unblock outdoor drains of leaves etc.

The filter is rubbish and falls apart like wet cardboard hence 4 stars.

Overall I have put this wet vac through it’s paces and it is still working as new ( I am surprised)

People complaining about the suction etc, if you want an industrial wet vac this is not the product for you. This is for very light work hence the price ( you pay for what you get )

Overall for light work this is a very good wet vac

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDoes what it says on the tin, gets rid of animal hair, doesn’t balk at much. Makes a bl**dy racket, though and has a habit of falling over if you aren’t careful, worth bearing in mind if you were looking for something quiet. Does require quite a bit of arm power to use on carpets/upholstery so possibly not suitable for someone with arthritis

Golden Review Award: 164 From Our UsersUsed it to vacuum my car once.

That one time I did use it it was great and it picked up the dirt in my car with ease.
Even tried it out on a wet spill which it worked very well on.
Two attachments which was perfect enough for my use and the suction cable had good reach.
Would have loved it to have a longer power cable but my roll up extension cable sorted that out.

But alas… I stored it in my shed and that was the end of it.

Some cretin probably a junkie looking for a quick fix, decided to relieve me of my beloved vacuum I started to call my Minion. Broke my shed lock in the process, must have seen it through the window. It’s bright yellow and I guess you cannot miss it.

Too traumatised to get another one to replace it immediately, maybe later but it definitively will not be going in the shed.

    Was fun while it lasted.

A very powerful suction. With my old one, there were still some dog hairs embedded in the carpet from a short haired but very sheddy lurcher. This vacuum gets them up. It’s got a great big drum that is easy to empty and as I say, great suction.
The only negatives would be that it is very light and easily toppled over and that the distraught from the back is very strong and can blow things about a bit behind you. On the whole though, I love it.

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersI am very pleased to receive this excellent product on time. Thanks to Amazon. I was looking for a decent wet and dry vacuum cleaner and I found that KARCHER added a new line i.e. wet and dry vacuum cleaner recently introduced in the market. I have tried this product and it does the job perfectly. In past I have waste lot of money renting a wet and dry vacuum cleaner and now I am very pleased and goodbye to renting forever.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve only had this for a couple of hours but it’s exceeded my expectations by far.

My flat’s got the most stubborn, claw-like carpet in the history of Victorian housing and NOTHING would get crumbs, wood chips, or other small hard pieces of debris out because they’d stick in there like velcro. One run with this vac and the carpet’s clean. Makes me feel like I was living in a swamp.

The “instruction manual” is phenomenally useless though. When you get it, lift the flaps on the side to take out the wheels which are inside the vac. Attach them to the bottom, then attach the hose to the vac and one of the pipes to the hose. Then either attach the floor attachment (and its brush insert) or the crevice tool to the pipe. If you’re using it on dry surfaces then make sure you affix the bag inside the vac. (& vice versa, if you’re sucking up liquids then take the bag out!) Insertion is a bit finicky and requires folding it so that it fits in at the edge of the vac, leaving room for the filter. But the whole thing from unpackaging took me less than 5 mins.

Re the reviews saying this topples over too easily, I haven’t found that to be the case unless you’re pulling it from the direction opposite where the hose is coming out from (i.e. you’re pulling it backwards.)

I don’t know what to say about the reviews saying it leaks as I haven’t used the wet vac feature yet. I may update this review later down the line if needed.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersIts OK, but its very cheap of course. Motor is powerful (not prohibitively noisy) and the suction is good. Tools are OK, although the wide head tool is rather average. I didnt buy it to use wet, so cannot review that side of it, but as an ordinary vacuum cleaner it works well in my garage and workshop. It isnt very stable, as its not very heavy, so will tip over if you pull it too strongly. My only point against it is the exhaust vent at the back to blow out the air which been sucked in, in the cleaning process. Its a nuisance, because it will blow the dust around that you havent yet picked up so you need to face this away from anything you are trying to pick up. Presumably if you are picking up water, it would blow some out at the back, which explains some of the poor reviews as a wet vacuum cleaner. Its only 50 though……

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersMy house has course wiry office style carpets. My normal hoover couldn’t pick much up from it. So I got this, and it works a treat. Its louder than hoovers I’m used too but thats worth it for a clean carpet. And when kids played with sand on the drive way, promptly getting it everywhere, and this hoover sucked up the sand in a thrice. It cleared their crafting space: floor littered with tiny cuts of paper, glitter and sequins, without breaking a sweat. Its builky and loud, but its good for what I need and I’m very happy.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWhat can i say, this has to be the best hoover I’ve ever had honestly it’s fantastic. The suction is brilliant and has never changed from when I bought it, it’s light so easy to pull around or carry, I haven’t used the wet part yet has haven’t needed to. The price is brilliant i paid 42 pound which is amazing for a good Hoover. Would definitely recommend I can’t praise it enough.

Golden Review Award: 73 From Our UsersThis is a wonderful appliance that I note has had poor reviews from some. I agree it has its issues, the ones that I note are that it tips over easily–so go easy with it and not like a bull at a gate–and that the head detaches too easily, i.e. is press-fit and doesn’t latch into place. HOWEVER, the upsides are huge and I am not sure how anyone can expect more from an appliance at this price band. I bought mine first for around 80 (this is the second…just bought a new one) and was so impressed by it that I have bought the second.

I love that it has the multi-functional base, that can be used wet or dry, with a vast container that I use for many other things besides vacuuming! I detach it regularly and use it as a mopping bucket, and the fact it’s on wheels makes it so easy to move. It literally glides along… so if you have to transport heavy fluids, this base does the job.

The cleaning power on dry dust and debris is fantastic, and I have bought the second specifically for building debris and dust that will soon wreck a standard vacuum cleaner and stop its motor working. I used my first Karcher (same as this) on all manner of debris for years and never had an issue, no loss of suction.

I have even used it to clean the gravel drive up. As years go by, the gravel acquires all sorts of general crud and dust, also tiny leaf particles that stop it looking good. I got rid of the weeds and lay a garden sieve down on the dirty gravel areas, sliding it around with the vac head inside the sieve. heck, the muck this deposited in the container was a fine dust I could barely even see, and it left the gravel looking like new. Of course, nothing major could come up into the container because the sieve holes are small enough, but they were equally big enough to stop the gravel being sucked up. I recommend the technique! It’s time consuming but if you are selling your house and have patches of gravel covered in builder’s debris etc, give it a whirl on a nice dry day. The drive will end up looking like the gravel was freshly laid.

I have never used the appliance on wet spills but will give it a whirl as I have acquired an absolutely filthy sofa from ebay, ha… I plan to soak it outside and vac off the residue.

The filter unit in this is easy to clean and lasts a long time. I believe that the key to staying satisfied with most vacuum cleaners is that you look after them. If you use on wrong surfaces and crud up the filters etc, you won’t see them last. But for robustness, longevity and general efficacy I am very pleased with this. I have even considered buying several to have them in stock in case they cease being made. So take poor reviews with a pinch of salt, so to speak, because some users expect the earth and yet they’re paying low and probably expecting more than it’s designed to do.

I think I will weight the base with something too, and see if it stops tipping… if so, that makes it perfect for all sorts of home uses.

Absolutely amazing vacuum! We needed a replacement as ours was handed down when we moved into our house 18 months ago, and was a little tired and old. We had heard good reviews about Karcher products so decided to give it a go – so much easier to manouvre around the house, the hose has a good extension and so light weight. It does make quite a lot of noise but it doesnt last long because the suction power is superb and has cut my vacuuming time in half, definitely worth the incredibly reasonable price!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGot a cheap on from Amazon warehouse as I was not bothered about a few blemishes or having no retail box.First job clean the car, wire is long enough for me to use with out an extension lead. hose is long enough to clean inside all areas of my estate car. Lots of other jobs around the garage workshop. Cleaned up after a bit of dog brushing with a malting retriever. Not tried it wet yet but guess it will cope with that easy enough. It gives a good suck and what man wouldn’t want that in his workshop 😉

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love this machine! I have always got by just fine with just a broom but with 2 boys I needed something fast enough to keep up. I must admit, I use it bagless and just suck up any liquid or crumb that is left and rinse it out in the loo. It has lasted me a while now and yes, it may not last as long as it could, but at this price I will be ordering a new one when it dies. My kids have named him Archie and love the short hose so they can vacuum too, get in! It does, indeed spray a little water out of the back when you suck up a large amount of water but any drinks spilled and splashy baths are almost dried with no issue at all.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a really good product for the price – which seems to have dropped by another 8 in the two days since I bought it! I was after a simple vacuum cleaner for use in situations where I wouldn’t want to use the normal one. Specifically we have some building going on with loads of brick dust, rubble and other stuff lying around. From reading the other reviews it seemed ideal, and I wasn’t disappointed. It wasn’t as noisy as I had expected and it was very powerful sucking up everything it it’s way. I was pleased to find the cartridge filter installed, although if you are cleaning dust (rather than rubble or larger bits) be prepared to clean it regularly.

Overall – this is ideal for the purpose and you don’t need to pay more. However I have deducted one star as this (although being bought in the UK) came with a two pin European plug. I have had to cut this off and replace it with a UK one, although you could use it with an adapter. So if you are buying this you will either need to get a suitable adapter (like a shaver plug) or be prepared to replace the plug.
