Great product and replaced an other earlier version makita i had. This one is loads better and very powerful for its size. Use it all the time and it has been faultless.
Like any Makita tool, this product is a delight.
The unit itself is very lightweight and has been very useful for driving in flooring screws. Such an upgrade over using a multidrill for this function.
With a socket adapter set it will remove wheel nuts, but doesn’t have the torque for much more (not a criticism as this isn’t its primary purpose).
excellent piece of kit. powerful and manoeuvrable. VERY expensive batteries !
I purchased this from the Amazon warehouse as a returned item in good condition. Obviously it was cheaper then the list price. But this is far from good condition. I am returning it to Amazon but just want to remind people to be careful when buying warehouse goods, I’m sure someone has returned there old one in swap of a new one and winged it.
A great tool, powerful, light weight, simple use and excellent value for money.
Having this tool enbles me to use my existing Makita LXT drill as a drill and the impact driver purely as a driver, dispensing with the need to swap drill and driver bits. A great time saver.
I had the opportunity to buy an impact driver as a set with my Makita drill but declined thinking I wouldn’t use the impact driver, but then bought one separately, and discovered how wrong I had been!
This is a superb tool, so much easier, lighter and faster to use than changing bits and using the drill, kicking myself for not having bought the set.

Used for work, great tool sound use it every day
Really nice.. fast delivery.. this does NOT come with a battery..
I did not read the full description.. so my bad.. if i did realise that.. i would not of paid it.. as there are ones with the battery for not that much more.
Love makita power tools and and this impact driver is great, drives is screws with ease. Torch on front is handy too

I just had to write this review it’s the best thing I’ve bought for years I am currently building a new fence and extending the posts and until now I’ve managed with my trusty makita combi drill but it struggled with big 8mm coach screws not this tool straight in no pilot hole no messing about even if it hits a knot in the Wood still drives them in! I also now can use concrete screws straight in the power this tool has is unbelievable especially when you’ve been used to a combi I love the compactness and it’s so so light I love it made in Belgium too which I was happier with but I can’t recommend it enough and the price is unbeatable and I ordered it 3 o’clock and it was with me by 11 the next day awesome

Stop reading reviews and buy it’s a great impact gun and for price you can’t get cheaper anywhere else just make sure you have compatible batteries lxt I used it yesterday putting 100mm screws into fence posts and they flew straight in made the job a breeze wish I bought one earlier seriously just buy it you won’t regret a thing
This drill makes light work and so lightweight. So easy to use and would definately recommend.
Great piece neat but very robust and quite powerful, would highly recommend
I purchased this after wondering over several years whether it may be a necessary part of the tool box. I was constructing a wooden framed outhouse which involved many many screws and decided to take the plunge with this impact driver. To be fair I own other Matika tools so I had two batteries and a charger so this naked driver was not a difficult decision to take. Make sure you get impact driver bits as they do, as you would imagine, take a hammering. It definitely makes construction easier!

Had a problem with the drill bit getting stuck in the sleeve through no fault of the product. Returned it for inspection and they were good enough to promptly replace it. Please note: make sure the drill bits you use are IMPACT READY
I’ve always worked with a drill driver thinking there wouldn’t be much of a benefit in having a dedicated impact driver. How wrong I was, since using this I have saved so much time and effort. It’s a much quicker way of driver screws and also has the added benefit of the extra torque. The value is amazing too, as it’s Makita and cost me a little over 50. You don’t get the battery with this but I already have some of them. Using a 5 ah battery, it lasted me over 3 separate projects, I must have driven over 500 screws on the one charge and it still had power!
If you’re considering an impact driver I would 100% recommend buying one. If you’re already on the Makita platform then this a no brainer. Great product, great value.
I would always recommend any Makita power tool and ordered a few things from these guys with no frills exactly what I wanted and the bonus of quick deliveries.

for less than 80 this drill is fab. enough power and drive for most jobs.
lightweight, not noisy and used with makita masonry set (25) is brill value.

its makita what else needs to be said. Such power its awesome
Used this to join garden sleepers together with 150mm hex screws. It has been fantastic. Use it everywhere I can now. Easy to handle.
Very fast so ideal for driving screws or drilling holes into wood. Lightness and speed/power are its strong points, and at 60 fantastic value if you have the Makita platform of batteries and chargers. Not really sensitive enough for low speed driving, a combi drill does all that, and more, better. It complements a combi drill rather than replacing it.
If you’re looking for an impact driver for small jobs I would highly recommend this product. The price is ridiculously cheap, you can’t go wrong. Obviously this impact driver cannot cope with larger screws due to it’s size. However it’s small and lightweight and screws up to 3 inches just fly in. Make sure you buy impact rated drill bits otherwise they will constantly shatter.
I have always resisted buying an impact driver, after all I have a decent drill. After spraining my wrist whilst not focusing on what I was doing (with the drill) I decided to invest in one and what an eye opener! All the drive power of a drill but without any of the wrist knackering torque. Add one to your toolkit, you will not regret it.
Came on time but no battery had to order this and a charger this was not started in description but overall dam good bit of stuff
Great best value on site 1 month 8inch screw bolts 8mm diamond
into 500 year old oak
I really don’t know why I didn’t get one of these sooner. Been doing loads of diy jobs around the house and find some restricted areas I can get my combi drill into. This impact driver is a great size and weight so u don’t feel too fatigue for using for the whole day. I would recommend to get some of the long impact screw attachments for this as it makes jobs so much easie
a brand you can trust very nciely built high quility perfect A****
Purchased for my builder son as a replacement for his old one. Best around he says. Lightweight. Holds charge. Essential piece of kit.
I’ve only had this a few days but has had some fair use. So far I’m a happy bunny. Works a treat and nice and lightweigh
For the price ( 54.90 at time of purchase)
Fantastic value , strong , hard wearing , good replacement for older version which lasted years of mon- Fri daily abuse
Absolutely perfect for the money. As a tradesman I can’t live without my impact driver. For 55 quid for a body it’s a steal.
Very impressed. Have used as a socket wrench and a screwdriver so far. Makes short work of whatever you throwat it. Comes as bare bone unit so only buy if you already collect makita.
This was a Christmas present from my partner on recommendation from my son. It’s lightweight and very easy to use. Just wish I’d had one years ago. Excellent.
It’s crazy how powerful such a little impact driver can be! I love it and use it for so many jobs, my normal drill has rarely been used since. Being so short and light it’s very easy to use and get into awkward areas. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one if for whatever reason I broke it.
Cant beat a makita Impact driver. Nice and compact size will easily fit in a in a tool rucksack. Very powerful and running a 4ah batt it lasts me for ages between charges and top build quality. Buy i

Great impact driver – bought fit my brother as Christmas present
I already own one and use it everyday
Just bought it today and I already love it. Small, powerful very handy to have atound with my other drills. Should have bought one years ago! (Need to buy a 2.0ah battery to keep it light instead of my 5.0ah one)

Been hovering over getting an impact driver for a while and with a major DIY project looming, decided to pull the trigger. Wish i had done it sooner – yes you can manage with a drill driver, but its so much easier with one of these, wish i had got one ages ago. The Makita driver is light, small, incredibly powerful and the work light very handy. As i already had Makita products, didn’t need the charger or battery, so being able to just get the drill was perfect.

Bought this as a second makita (drill) so that I do not have to keep changing from drill bits to driver bits. Had two batteries so no brainer.
Still works like id bought it yesterday. My baby god bless her is still serving me well thank god.
Simply the best drill I’ve ever had fantastic for screwing screws in with ease even drills latches out with no problems would recommend to anyone
I haven’t really used it for any heavy work, but for the little jobs I’ve been doing, it’s great. It’s lightweight, powerful and the work light is very good. When you already have batteries, buying bare units is great value – this one in particular.

Replaced my previous Makita impact driver which had done some serious work!Hope this does the same and I will be delighted!
I know there are new brushless ones out but if like me its only for occasional use this is ideal. Great price as well. Highly recommend
Great item if you have makita kit already. Just watch prices as they go up and down over night. I could have saved 13 quid if I had bought item next day…
have had one before and lasted years, this is a replacement, very good value
Great value for money.it works perfectly and highly recommend
Use this impacter all day every day never gives up but I could do with five ah batteries all round excellent tool
Been meaning to get one for years, why did I wait so long, get one, you wont ne disappointed the power is amazing and so light. I allready had makita batteries so this was s no brainer.
Does what it says, on the tin. Weight does rely on ylthe size of the battery you get.
he ease of fitting torx head masonry fittings into solid concrete block walls was with no effort compared to using a ratche
Nice little driver this. I already had a Makita combi drill and can use the same battery and charger for both
Seems like an added gadget until you have it and have say a big task that requires repetitive fixing like a cabin roof and then it comes into it’s own and is different from a normal drill/ driver combo. Drives through – lasts a long time and is lighter than a normal drill.
Small and compact, this is ideal for all your hex-shanked needs – hole cutters, sockets, screw driving.
Screwdriving into wood in particular is an utter joy. Oh, bolts as well. Active fixing bolts – no bother.
Had a makita 18v drill for ages and wish I’d had this too, years ago.
Great, sturdy, well engineered kit.
Torque works really well too – scales with the amount of trigger your using. Give it full beans and the torque it applies is huge and the clutch won’t slip.. Gentle with it and the clutch will slip and much less resistance – perfect.

Good drill lightweight good grip like the light and belt hook
As I already had a Makita drill with a spare battery, I bought this for diy jobs. Only gripe is the variable speed is the trigger and takes some getting used to but worth the money.

I’ve been using a combination drill to drive in screws and reverse them out for years, but this impact driver by Makita has been a god send since, so easy to drive in screws and reverse them out and have control with each screw has been a blessing. The light emitted at the front is also a blessing to get the job done. Good grip and very comfortable.
Great little piece of kit very robust & it’s got the power ended up buying 2 bought alternative batteries & charger & still saved a fortune.
Great driver until it packed up after 2 weeks.
Amazon refunded me straight away and i bought another the same which is still going strong 6 months later. Must have been a dodgy one.
Been using this to do a ceiling frame and a stud wall. Like my other Makita tools it has not missed a beat. Without any settings, you just get a feel for it and can control it really well. Stopping without breaking the surface paper on a plasterboard for example. Might be nice to have some settings but this is great anyway.
This Makita DTD 262Z. My husband this drill as he has no regrets does the job excellent. A Makita fan he, also bought his mate one.
Bought as I was using a drill driver to un-do screws and smoke started to come out!!! This is a Beast. My new favourite tool! Led light is v bright, power is immense. Not great for removing screws which have no grip e.g. removing screws previously covered by pollifiller. For everything else – crazy good.

Like others, I used my drill for screws but this is different class. Wish I’d bought one years ago. The best part is, I have a drill with 2 x 4.0amp batteries so I only had to buy the bare unit.
Pleased with this item. Used Makita for years never let you down.
Love makita quality tools well known in the construction industry/ other trades .
Powerful well put together worth the money just for the body not bothered about the box their cheap to get it’s better that way I think plus the price keeps going up on these tools so says it all ha

What a machine – invaluable while renovating my house. I’ve been battering this thing for months and it’s holding up well. The build quality at this price point is exceptional. Accurate trigger, awesome torque per , compact size. Could do with a bit holder on the handle but it’s a minor thing.
My husband bought this. He is always commenting after he uses it on how it does things up etc. with a power that surprises him. As a mechanic, he is often disappointed these days by the quality of tools but this one has proved itself to be a most useful tool. It is more powerful than you’d think (apparently!) It is so good that he now wants to buy a second one so he has a clean one for clean jobs and a grubby one for oily jobs. Says it all, really!

Great bit of kit, used for replacing a decking area and was superb for removing the old screws regardless of how deep or tightly screwed in. Made light work of screwing in the replacement deck boards. So much torque it will remove anything, and so much better that using its cordless drill counterpart I had bought previously. If you need to do a lot of fixing, like a new deck or a fitted kitchen, this really is the is the tool to have with you. Battery also seems to last longer in the impact driver than on the drill
Excellent tool , Used it several times on the first day of purchase.
I prefer to use it with my BL1815 batteries instead of my BL1830/40/60 batteries which means like ALL Makita tools the belt clip is too long so I haven’t fitted it yet
The BL1815 battery pared with this impact driver make for a light weight powerful compact impact driver.
Update
Its been a few days now and how the hell did I make things with out one of these Makita impact drivers … So much lighter than my Makita drills and more powerful screwing …ooo eeer.

What a Bargain Buy! Bought this Impact Driver at under half the price on offer at another big tool company. Great purchase, powerful and easy to use. Thankyou
Really good impact driver…
As i own other makita products i bought this to compliment my collection and have not put the thing down since it arrived. Its a great bit of kit that i didnt know i needed. The price was great.
Due to the nature of the product it is loud when put under stress
This is an excellent product. I’ve owned a Makita combi drill and having a separate impact driver has been a blessing. It feels robust, works solidly (even after a 2m high drop), comfortable to use and very powerful. The bit changing is secure and the light powerful. I toyed with getting the brushless and/or programmable version, but this brushed version, even as an entry level for a Makita product, is perfect for building projects. So no regrets about choosing this one. I’ve even grown used to the colour, despite having had the black and white Makita drill. [In case it makes the difference, I’ve been using a 4.0Ah battery and mainly using Turbo Gold XT screws into pilot holes for soft woods, e.g. spruce)
I have many Makita cordless tools , this drill / driver is nothing less than spectacular !!. You will not believe the the torque on tap , do not hold the chuck and press the trigger you will lose skin !!
Excellent power to weight and conveniently small. Would be of use to mechanics , kitchen fitters. etc.
All for around 50.00 …. ( Bare ). Used with LXT 3.0 A/ H. The whole LXT range performs well and exceeds expectations.
Tried this at work for over a year on a daily basis; works perfectly. Very, very good tool!
PROs: I have tested the driver and it works very well so far, powerful and smooth. This is also a great price, although you need to buy a battery and charger (and a case?) separately.
CONs: it arrived loose in a random cardboard box, with instructions in French only. Not a major problem as it’s simple enough to use (and I speak French), but a bit strange – and not made clear by Amazon up front.

I rarely review things on Amazon but I am so impressed with the DTD152Z I have to share. I tried the 10.8V Makita impact driver at another store and it didn’t have the torque I wanted. This thing scares me when driving in screws it’s so powerful. Would buy again in a heartbeat.
You know what you’re getting with Makita, super high quality, yet very affordable.
There is no exception with this impact driver, it’s EPIC!
Quad brushed dc motor (okay it’s not brushless but it is more robust with less complex switching electronics than a brushless equivalent meaning theres a good chance it’ll last longer) , rugged nylon impregnated with 30% glass fibre plastic, more than enough torque and a led bright enough which also points where it should!
If you’re in the market for one of these, this is a very safe option and I would suspect you would be hard pressed to find equivalent performance/reliability for the same price.
Don’t forget the 3 year Makita warrantee if you register the serial number on their website too!
If you found this at all helpful, please let me know by hitting ‘Yes’ below.
Cheers.
Great tool for the price.
Didn’t come in a Makita box but did register with Makita for the 3 year warranty so I guess it came from a split twin pack or kit.
Little bit lacking for site use, you’d want a beefier backup, but generally gets me by.
Much nicer than my ryobi drill driver. Bought really cheap so worth the money
Best thing i have every bought. Period.
This has some serious power so watch out when tightening bolts with last Impact juices – we’ll make steel bend. Seriously.
5/5.
First impact driver after using cordless drills. Wow! What a difference this thing is the mutts nuts!
Always wondered if these impact drivers were better than using a drill with the screwdriver bits. Read a few reviews and it seems that this driver impacts in the rotational direction to assist the tightening and untightening of screws/bolts.
Used extensively as soon as received to help with assembly of a large shed and the unit worked extremely well. It’s also a bit lighter than the 18V drills and slightly shorter in the body making it easier to hold and use; wouldn’t be without it now.
