Great product and replaced an other earlier version makita i had. This one is loads better and very powerful for its size. Use it all the time and it has been faultless.

Like any Makita tool, this product is a delight.

The unit itself is very lightweight and has been very useful for driving in flooring screws. Such an upgrade over using a multidrill for this function.

With a socket adapter set it will remove wheel nuts, but doesn’t have the torque for much more (not a criticism as this isn’t its primary purpose).

I purchased this from the Amazon warehouse as a returned item in good condition. Obviously it was cheaper then the list price. But this is far from good condition. I am returning it to Amazon but just want to remind people to be careful when buying warehouse goods, I’m sure someone has returned there old one in swap of a new one and winged it.

Makita tools are the best. Just not this one

A great tool, powerful, light weight, simple use and excellent value for money.
Having this tool enbles me to use my existing Makita LXT drill as a drill and the impact driver purely as a driver, dispensing with the need to swap drill and driver bits. A great time saver.

I had the opportunity to buy an impact driver as a set with my Makita drill but declined thinking I wouldn’t use the impact driver, but then bought one separately, and discovered how wrong I had been!
This is a superb tool, so much easier, lighter and faster to use than changing bits and using the drill, kicking myself for not having bought the set.

I just had to write this review it’s the best thing I’ve bought for years I am currently building a new fence and extending the posts and until now I’ve managed with my trusty makita combi drill but it struggled with big 8mm coach screws not this tool straight in no pilot hole no messing about even if it hits a knot in the Wood still drives them in! I also now can use concrete screws straight in the power this tool has is unbelievable especially when you’ve been used to a combi I love the compactness and it’s so so light I love it made in Belgium too which I was happier with but I can’t recommend it enough and the price is unbeatable and I ordered it 3 o’clock and it was with me by 11 the next day awesome

I purchased this after wondering over several years whether it may be a necessary part of the tool box. I was constructing a wooden framed outhouse which involved many many screws and decided to take the plunge with this impact driver. To be fair I own other Matika tools so I had two batteries and a charger so this naked driver was not a difficult decision to take. Make sure you get impact driver bits as they do, as you would imagine, take a hammering. It definitely makes construction easier!

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI’ve always worked with a drill driver thinking there wouldn’t be much of a benefit in having a dedicated impact driver. How wrong I was, since using this I have saved so much time and effort. It’s a much quicker way of driver screws and also has the added benefit of the extra torque. The value is amazing too, as it’s Makita and cost me a little over 50. You don’t get the battery with this but I already have some of them. Using a 5 ah battery, it lasted me over 3 separate projects, I must have driven over 500 screws on the one charge and it still had power!
If you’re considering an impact driver I would 100% recommend buying one. If you’re already on the Makita platform then this a no brainer. Great product, great value.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery fast so ideal for driving screws or drilling holes into wood. Lightness and speed/power are its strong points, and at 60 fantastic value if you have the Makita platform of batteries and chargers. Not really sensitive enough for low speed driving, a combi drill does all that, and more, better. It complements a combi drill rather than replacing it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIf you’re looking for an impact driver for small jobs I would highly recommend this product. The price is ridiculously cheap, you can’t go wrong. Obviously this impact driver cannot cope with larger screws due to it’s size. However it’s small and lightweight and screws up to 3 inches just fly in. Make sure you buy impact rated drill bits otherwise they will constantly shatter.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have always resisted buying an impact driver, after all I have a decent drill. After spraining my wrist whilst not focusing on what I was doing (with the drill) I decided to invest in one and what an eye opener! All the drive power of a drill but without any of the wrist knackering torque. Add one to your toolkit, you will not regret it.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersSmall and compact, this is ideal for all your hex-shanked needs – hole cutters, sockets, screw driving.

Screwdriving into wood in particular is an utter joy. Oh, bolts as well. Active fixing bolts – no bother.

Had a makita 18v drill for ages and wish I’d had this too, years ago.

    Great, sturdy, well engineered kit.

Torque works really well too – scales with the amount of trigger your using. Give it full beans and the torque it applies is huge and the clutch won’t slip.. Gentle with it and the clutch will slip and much less resistance – perfect.

Great bit of kit, used for replacing a decking area and was superb for removing the old screws regardless of how deep or tightly screwed in. Made light work of screwing in the replacement deck boards. So much torque it will remove anything, and so much better that using its cordless drill counterpart I had bought previously. If you need to do a lot of fixing, like a new deck or a fitted kitchen, this really is the is the tool to have with you. Battery also seems to last longer in the impact driver than on the drill

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersThis is an excellent product. I’ve owned a Makita combi drill and having a separate impact driver has been a blessing. It feels robust, works solidly (even after a 2m high drop), comfortable to use and very powerful. The bit changing is secure and the light powerful. I toyed with getting the brushless and/or programmable version, but this brushed version, even as an entry level for a Makita product, is perfect for building projects. So no regrets about choosing this one. I’ve even grown used to the colour, despite having had the black and white Makita drill. [In case it makes the difference, I’ve been using a 4.0Ah battery and mainly using Turbo Gold XT screws into pilot holes for soft woods, e.g. spruce)

I have many Makita cordless tools , this drill / driver is nothing less than spectacular !!. You will not believe the the torque on tap , do not hold the chuck and press the trigger you will lose skin !!
Excellent power to weight and conveniently small. Would be of use to mechanics , kitchen fitters. etc.
All for around 50.00 …. ( Bare ). Used with LXT 3.0 A/ H. The whole LXT range performs well and exceeds expectations.

Tried this at work for over a year on a daily basis; works perfectly. Very, very good tool!

Golden Review Award: 35 From Our UsersPROs: I have tested the driver and it works very well so far, powerful and smooth. This is also a great price, although you need to buy a battery and charger (and a case?) separately.

CONs: it arrived loose in a random cardboard box, with instructions in French only. Not a major problem as it’s simple enough to use (and I speak French), but a bit strange – and not made clear by Amazon up front.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI rarely review things on Amazon but I am so impressed with the DTD152Z I have to share. I tried the 10.8V Makita impact driver at another store and it didn’t have the torque I wanted. This thing scares me when driving in screws it’s so powerful. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

Golden Review Award: 53 From Our UsersYou know what you’re getting with Makita, super high quality, yet very affordable.

There is no exception with this impact driver, it’s EPIC!

Quad brushed dc motor (okay it’s not brushless but it is more robust with less complex switching electronics than a brushless equivalent meaning theres a good chance it’ll last longer) , rugged nylon impregnated with 30% glass fibre plastic, more than enough torque and a led bright enough which also points where it should!

If you’re in the market for one of these, this is a very safe option and I would suspect you would be hard pressed to find equivalent performance/reliability for the same price.

Don’t forget the 3 year Makita warrantee if you register the serial number on their website too!

    Cheers.

    Reliable teal tools.

Didn’t come in a Makita box but did register with Makita for the 3 year warranty so I guess it came from a split twin pack or kit.

This has some serious power so watch out when tightening bolts with last Impact juices – we’ll make steel bend. Seriously.

    5/5.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersAlways wondered if these impact drivers were better than using a drill with the screwdriver bits. Read a few reviews and it seems that this driver impacts in the rotational direction to assist the tightening and untightening of screws/bolts.
Used extensively as soon as received to help with assembly of a large shed and the unit worked extremely well. It’s also a bit lighter than the 18V drills and slightly shorter in the body making it easier to hold and use; wouldn’t be without it now.
