    Great piece of kit….so fa
Very nearly didn’t buy this due to the negative reviews. So pleased I ignored them.
We have had no issues whatsoever with foul tasting water. It was used straight out of the box. Followed instructions and flushed it through a few times, filtered the water, as I always do, and made a perfectly good cuppa. Don’t understand what all this fuss about flushing it out with lemon juice is about.
Must say it’s a bonus having a 3 litre tank. We were always having to top up our old 1 cup kettle. Minor criticism is that it’s not always easy to set the volume. Can be a bit hit and miss.
All in all, although we’ve only had it a few weeks, got to say we’re delighted with it.

We rate this highly - could be improved though
Fantastic item that replaces our kettle, saves power and time as well (by only boiling the water you need at the temperature you need). It could be improved (we already have used one for 5 years) by the output valve housing being made of different material as the plastic used age-hardens after 5 years daily use and disintegrates and leaks internally. We took our old one apart and using some copper pipe and some other materials, managed to fix it. I would easily recommend it but don’t expect it to be around after 5 years, but what kitchen appliance lasts that long nowadays?

So easy to use and filtered wate
Love love love this, I had the accents one cup as I cannot lift a heavy kettle and was boiling water over and over again. The one cup was good but died on me. Dont make anymore so bought this one. So much easier to use front loading water clear tank which you can see. Doesnt allow you to boil if no water in. Measures the required amount and boils it depending on chosen tempreture. Can fill 2 cups at once. So glad other one not a available anymore. Although it did last me 8+ years. Hope this lasts as long. Water, tea and coffee tastes so much better. Again love love love this.

Works as advertised - but a small but!
From previous reviews was sure I would have to return it, but bought it anyway. It was too attractive a machine, and if it worked would suit me well. It came well packed, and I did everything the comprehensive instructions said, to get it going. Except, used three times Brita Maxtra filtered water. Two Brita Maxtra jugs, one poured into the other, then into Maxtra filter equipped water tank. All functions worked as advertised. The heated water which came out of the machine, had a faint, quite faint, smell that it had passed through a machine. I have heated about five glasses of water of various volumes, and made a cup of tea, where I did not notice the smell. I would expect that after a few days of use, even the faint machine smell should have dissipated. Will definitely keep trying it until the return end date, and decide then. But hopeful.

    Does the job
I brought this through the Black Friday deals as I thought the original price was way too much for what is essentially a glorified kettle.
As others have mentioned the ‘new kettle taste’ that you get with most plastic kettles probably took about 3 weeks to disappear completely with continuous and heavy daily use. When I use it in the morning I boil the minimum amount of water before my proper brew which seems to help.
I personally love it. I drink a fair amount of tea. I would say decent quality loose leaf tea is better than cheap dust in a bag tea. It makes fantastic coffee and gravy too. (Keep up with the brita filters and don’t buy the cheap ones – trust me I tried and the water is blargh)
The only gripe I have is the water that comes out is not 100c. It’s definitely cooler on auto dispense so I tend not to use that and let it sit for a few seconds.
If you can get over the not 100c thing, of limited mobility and can put up with the new kettle taste for a bit then I can highly recommend it.

Looks Good and Does the Job
Ive been using these “one Cup” type hot water dispensers for over 10 years now and this is certainly the best and most expensive) ive had to date. Took me while to decide on this purchase as i felt it didn’t justify its high price (and it doesn’t) However it came up on a limited time deal of 30% off so decided to treat myself.

Pro’s– huge 3l capacity, looks good, temp for coffee is ideal, easy to clean, being able to fill pots, two cups at a time.

Cons– temp just a little off for HOT tea, expensive at full price.

Overall happy with it and have never had a problem with the taste

Great for limited mobility, and saves energy
While fairly bulky this is very easy to use It only heats the amount of water you select (unlike the Breville one touch), and you can turn auto-dispense off to keep the water hot until you’re ready.

Followed the instructions on running 2 full tanks of water through first, the 1st coffee afterwards did have a chemical taste but 2nd one was just fine.

    Great but not fas
Unlike many reviewers I haven’t noticed any kind of funny taste when making drinks, however that I not the main purpose I use this for as I have a bean to cup machine for my coffee’s but any other drinks and other uses like gravy etc I have used this. While I have only had it for a month now I do have the following observations:

    1. The measurement is not totally accurate for example I set it for 500ml of boiling water and according to my pyrex jug it issued 520ml

    2. The left spout always delivers more water than the right spout so for example the 500ml about came out as 270ml on the left and 250ml on the right while no major this could be significant when doing cups for drinks.

    3. Unlike the nice video it is defintely not fast or instant and by the time it has measured the water and then heated it and dispensed it, I would say in my opinion it is no quicker and possibly even a bit slower than a kettle however this is compensated by the amount that can be dispensed.

Received a thumbs up from my stroke surviver Husband
This machine is easier to refill and use than our previous Brevile One Cup. We were always happy with the Brevile One Cup but I had to be onhand to refill it.
The Morphy Richards Redefine holds 3 litres of water as opposed to the BOC which only holds 1.5 litres, also the water container can be removed from the machine to the tap for refilling. So much easier for my Husband to use.

Much safer and more economical than a kettle
Great water capacity – one fill lasts all day. We noted some comments about the taste of the water when the dispenser was new. We put lemon juice in the tank and boiled a couple of cups, and it’s been fine since then. It’s much more convenient than a kettle and much safer for the kids to use. Because it boils only the amount of water we select, we can also see (via the Smart meter display) that we’re using less electricity per day.

    Ease of use.
Bought this a a Christmas present and it works very well. Unfortunately the Brita filter was faulty and I had to go out and buy some which I was not happy about. However, overall, once you get the setting you need for whichever job you are doing, it is a fantastic for the kitchen or even your bedroom. I would have given a 5 star if it had not been for the faulty filter which I am still waiting for Amazon to get back to me on.

Excellent...if you set it up right!
Well, I was a bit hesitant in buying this due to the poor reviews about the taste of the water that comes out. However I took a chance and very glad that I did.
Fist things first…give the machine a good clean before use, sounds obvious but its very tempting to just plug it in and go.
Does the water taste awful when first used? Oh yes it does but so have many new kettles Ive bought over the years.
So, and here is the important bit… to remove the odd taste, read the user manual and follow the descaling instructions EXACTLY albeit without descaler in the tank, just fresh water. When it says leave the water in the top tank for 10 minutes, do so, do not dispense it until 10 minutes has lapsed. Not a minute less and repeat the process as per the book.
Once done the manky taste is pretty much gone. Do it again if you still have slight taste, but ours is now pretty much gone.
Great machine, easy to use and great capacity tank. Its a big thing so make sure you have room for it on your worktop.

A GREAT MACINE " But with one big flaw "
A GREAT KETTLE ” But with one big flaw ”

We have now used this kettle ( hot water dispenser ) for 3 weeks at 12 cups of tea a day.. we are STILL tasting a chemical taste although its not as bad as when we first purchased the kettle.. this is the third hot water dispenser we have had over the years & they all have a chemical tastes for a few days but never as long as this machine… SO BE AWARE

    Looks nice
cleaned it all before before using more than it said because i had read reviews saying it tasted not right so thats why i did extra clean and i drink black coffee and i had no other taste than coffee, i think it looks lovely in my kitchen, i have arthritis and this is why i chose this one and i use a jug to refill and…. i do find that if you keep it to the full amount is a lot better … because if not i thought i was not working right because bottom Reservoir had emptied but then realised that it does have to filter through so thats why i top it up ever drink i make and it does the trick. So all in all i think it does the job and .. i love it !

    Great for proper tea lovers
I am really pleased with this hot water dispenser, and I am glad I managed to get it in the Black Friday sales!
It is great for quick water dispensing although my husband is still not convinced about putting the kettle away.
I like being able to change the amount of water dispensed, although lower levels are a bit of a pain to accurately get to, my mug is 340ml and hubby’s is 280, the dial is really sensitive so it’s easy to whizz past the measurements. This was the reason for 4, not 5 stars. Some room for improvement there I think.
As a big tea drinker, 6-8 mugs a day, it is perfect for my use, and quicker than hubby’s coffee bean to cup machine.
I even think it’s really quick for filling saucepans, although initial guessing of volume needed to cover a pan of vegetables or pasta is a pain.
It’s easy to fill, and I like the fact that the water is filtered. The filter bucket can be removed if it’s not needed, and I like the 3 litre capacity.
I have had no issues with any strange taste to the boiled water as others have reported, I did notice that some of those reviews were mainly older reviews, so I wonder if MR resolved it.
It clearly needs more space than a kettle on your worktop, but it’s not too big that it looks out of place. The drip tray is removable and can also be pushed back in when not in use.
You can also change the temperature to suit herbal teas or hot chocolate type drinks too.
Overall I highly recommend it, particularly if you only boil a kettle for one or two cups every time (I hated using re-boiled water, so would always end up ditching 200-300ml every boil).

Not perfect, but not a bad water dispenser.
I bought this in October, but had to send it back in December due to the water coming out of the machine not being hot enough. It meant that at the 95 degree setting, you could drink the coffee almost immediately . The returns process was very simple through Amazon, although initially amazon didnt want to know about it and referred you to the manufacturer, who then referred you back to amazon. Other than this, its easy to use, saves a bundle of time waiting for the kettle, and hopefully saves some pennies on the ever increasing energy costs. There’s a rotating dial on the front allowing you to select the quantity or hot water you want, and a 3 position selector for the temp (see above). Anything over 600ml and it wont dispense automatically, you have to press the auto button when you’re ready. Under this level, you can either auto dispense (water will pour when the temp is reached) or you it will pause until you press the auto button again.

    Was good, now a hazard
I loved this machine when I originally had it and for the next few months after. Yes, it did have a little bit of a ‘taste’ initially and at random times after but we weren’t sure if that was our water or not. It was great for when working from home as I was only boiling what I needed.

Unfortunately, it started developing a fault whereby, after setting the dial and pressing the start button, it would change the amount of water required without you touching the unit! Sometimes this would be a minor amount from say 280ml to 340ml. Sometimes it would jump from 300ml to 580 so still under the auto-dispense meaning I would have to empty the tray underneath several times a day. It’s even changed the amount to 1.5l. It’s not safe!

Morphy Richard’s don’t seem to care as they haven’t even responded to attempts to contact them absolutely useless.

As someone else has said, don’t buy unless you can afford to replace it after a year.

    Not sure about this one
I wanted to replace my 7 year old hot water dispenser for one with a bigger tank. This one ticked the box. When it was delivered I unpacked it to set up. And found there was droplets of water already in the machine. I do not know if this has been factory tested or a returned item from a customer. I commissioned the machine and filter as instructions. Everything works but the water taste is horrible and I’m hoping this plastic taste will disappear with use. I will not be getting rid of my old machine any time soon. UPDATE. This machine is now causing me concern, Water from upper reservoir does not flow to bottom reservoir as I assume it should. I’m constantly getting a tank warning that it’s not sitting correctly in its housing or needs water when it doesn’t.

Update. All problems sorted after reading other customers remarks such as release air from filter. Machine is working as it should. Love the fact I can dispense various quantities of water.
